I'd like to do a quick demonstration on how you can animate pictures in adobe animate we've worked a lot with text but I've not shown you some of the tricks that can make pictures do cool things when you're building a web banner or other type of document first of all we need to get a picture into our document if the picture is on your computer file import import stage and I've got several pictures here I'm going to pick this picture of my daughter from a couple years ago click open now what you'll notice is that the picture is a lot bigger than the stage the picture itself is 1365 pixels by 2048 pixels I can use command minus on my keyboard to zoom out and then the handle bars are already around the picture so I can click and hold and size it to where it's small enough to go onto my stage accidentally move the pivot point there but I'll move the picture and click outside of it to make it work command + I can zoom back in now I've shown you several different workflows where we do things in different order whether it's building frames first or building layers first everybody probably has a personal preference at this point but what we're going to do before we do anything else is we're going to convert this into a symbol I'm going to right-click come down to convert to symbol I want it to be a movie clip and I'm gonna call it bug okay so now you'll notice that the properties window over here on the side has changed and we have a bunch of different options that weren't associated with the original picture when it comes to just making the picture move we'll want to build in some frames and keyframes somebody come over to the three-second mark right click insert keyframe and then I'm gonna select this picture on the first keyframe move it offstage and I'm gonna look at the last keyframe and see how its onstage and offstage right-click in the middle and create a classic tween I like classic tween because it gives me that fluid movement picture comes onstage now what I can also do is I can demonstrate how to make this picture fade away I'm gonna scroll to the right on my timeline and I'm gonna build in another set of keyframes at the four second mark right click insert another keyframe then I'm gonna select by left clicking on the picture notice my properties window over here change to the properties of the bug movie clip under color affect brightness tint advanced or if we want to make it fade away we use alpha and on this last keyframe because I notice I had this last keyframe selected up here I want the Alpha to be zero at the three second mark make sure it's selected the alpha can be a hundred and it actually already was when I did that it reset so we go from 100 to zero right click create a classic tween we get a nice slow fade I want you guys to think outside the box with this no pun intended and think of all the different ways you could animate and make something change experiment make sure you convert to symbol and as often as possible use a classic tween to get the smoothest transitions available
