today we're redoing the brakes in my truck that's right we're back on the 1967 f250 up here or f2 moldy we pulled it off a farm it was about this time of year last year actually and it was sitting there for about 24 years we did get it running we got the fuel system sorted out but today we're going to be putting brakes on it front and rear and all the tubulator pipe things as well [Applause] [Music] bradley and i decided just to buy a pre-bent kit we bought all this through inline tube and she's all just snazzled up for you pop it right on the truck it looks like everything's here other than the one long run from the brake distribution block all the way back to the rear tire turner hopefully i got the right shoes i'm not quite sure probably not got some soft lines here those are probably also wrong see what happens and then we also guessed on the wheel cylinders because again apparently there's 74 different flavors of these so we'll see what we can get done i think we're going to start in the rear see if we can get the hardware or the shoes on and then start with the lines and work our way forward because basically the front's going to be a mess well i'll just show you a quick i'll get your peepers hooked in here to show you what we're working with this is the brake distribution block and as you can see they just kind of jammed her in here and then we got lines doing this behind the steering apparatus and whatnot these two go up to the brake master cylinder one of them is snapped off already that's nice this one wraps around here comes over to the captain's side the truck the other one comes across cross member here over to the drinker side that one should be fairly easy this bottom one here goes to the rear and this one is just really well i just broke it really rotten comes across busted here it was already patched at one point comes down it does a whoopee swoopy back here comes in up there and then of course we've got these this one's not too bad but the likelihood of these popping is about 92.3 percent and i'm sure the wheel cylinders leak and all that but we're going to start back here because i think we can get the shoes the wheel cylinders these lines the soft rubber line all in hopefully today we don't got much time we kind of started late but that's the way she goes i'm gonna soak all this down with some juice we'll lift up the rear axle pop the tires off see if we can even get the drums off and we'll go from there how's that sound good this air jack sure makes things nice a few different ways to lift this up and normally come off the axle tube or come right underneath the leaf pack that's really sturdy but since we're going to be messing with these lines and in here on the wheel cylinders this gets it out of the way and now with the extensions we can get underneath the drive shaft don't have to mess with that this thing is rustier than what rusty wallace would be and there's just stuff falling all over the place in here kind of like my friend clint black says it's like the rain so we're gonna wear some safety goggles today actually bradley you got yours on yeah good that's good push the lever in harder there you go we're going to bring this down a little bit lower so the lug nuts are just right in our teeth you know got this out of the way skosh more i think it'll start we got new trellis it's a pretty good little motorbike all right got your air hose yep where's the thunder maker you know the wrist runner wow back up here on the cattle pusher end of the pickup this should go about 59 gallons faster this side i've never had off actually and this is a side that was locked up when we went to get the truck we actually had to drag it backwards about 200 yards to get this to spin free so i'm going to start on this side because i feel like it might be a little bit of a bear getting this drum off this was set about right all too often folks crank these down way too tight and that's just going to cause premature bearing wear here you just snug them up and make sure that this isn't shaking around and you'll be good to go as i thought she's gonna fight ouch right on the femur you little w i definitely feel like i'm not making progress so that's good i think i just got a hitter with the old tonya harding a little bit more well i think i finally got it that was easy jeez took the axle seal and the bearing with it here's what a guy's got i mean everything seems fine no not really normally the inner bearing and seal that stays in the drum for a guy but she popped right out there i also busted this getting it off asked me if i care i don't and then in here i got two studs i broke off when we took the original wheels off that field i might go on ahead and try to fix on them we'll see about that return springs busted i have a feeling a lot of this other stuff's gonna break trying to get this apart i might have to just come to a screeching halt here and get a hardware kit and these bearings don't look too bad but maybe i miles will replace these as well and i don't have those the good news is those are definitely two and a half inch shoes and that's what i've got over here these brake best ones these are two and a half inch so i think we're we're in business as far as that goes i can also compare the wheel cylinders make sure that's right but i think i'm going to get shut down here for a day or two while i wait for the rest of these parts i am going to strip both sides down clean everything up and if i get these studs out maybe i'll even turn these goodness gracious this is getting fancy there is a really bad groove well two of them really probably what ended up causing these to stick and you can see all this particle and sediment and stuff in there and it needed shoes this one's pretty thin but that was the stuck side hopefully the other side isn't that bad by the way i tried to roll this off bring these shoes in and all i was doing was stripping it on the other side because this is just rusted shut there so that wasn't doing any good clean this up a little bit see if i can determine why this stuck on here that's pretty unusual hopefully there's not a big groove or something worn here that bearing looks fine oddly enough i mean that's drier than betty white's back so we can at least replace that yeah get sucked why is there so many ladybug carcasses i can taste it you can go buy the special big plier for the spring here or just take the old vice grip and get her out of there this works just fine some more alien looking hardware i got to get out of here these things they do something get this off and then we can compare wheel cylinders i'll probably just end up cutting this line since this is all going to be replaced anyway and pull it out this way alien hardware why are you so weird stops happening okay this this wants to come out that's fine hello you look not good and this side's got a bunch of stuff hanging off of it maybe i should take a picture or something but yeah that takes too long just ease it out in one big chunk where does that go already great taking the bolts out here that hold the wheel cylinder in they surprisingly came right out of there get the old leader man we're just gonna delete this brake line here there you are hmm [Applause] well since the guy has just halted down waiting on parts i'm going to do the wrong thing and clean this up trust treat it and paint it i'm going to take some asa bay sauce here wipe it down a little bit clean up all that stuff then i got some of this rust treatment supposed to convert the rust probably not and then this is the only half can of boxcar paint i could find it's got kind of a cast aluminium color we'll spray that on and while this is drying i could be over on the other side blowing dust and dirt over here so it sticks in it i i don't know sure well this side is drying down with the old rust treatment i'll get to going on this side and it's some more of the story that's the same the only difference over here is this one's pretty wobblier didn't have a cotter key in it shock mountain bolts missing guys eyes just started wandering cab mount she's wi-fi what's this go to guy gave this one all the onions and she just bounced right off my left eyebrow a lot of water and rust in that inner bearing so we'll probably go on ahead and replace that is this bent by the way i'm not sure this one needs to be turned probably replaced actually there's a really deep groove in it but i'm just going to take it in and say hey turn this and they're going to say can't because that's too deep and i'm going to say do it anyway see if we can bring something around on it because i'm not buying a new one hardware is intact over here barely well something here is broke isn't it i thought there was a cable that comes around this that comes down to this that hooks into the spinny bob adjuster do dab 200 so maybe we do have some broke stuff over here i think so this is ripped most likely leaking well oh yeah that's just she's not good that's why you want to always get fail cylinders on these old rigs you just you can't trust them as far as you throw them and i ain't throwing this truck [Music] i smashed my thumb like i was ralph the rocker i think that's as far as i can get for today i got both sides tore down cleaned up treated and painted i got to get home and get on the bleep box see if i could find some parts all the hardware wheel bearings seals stuff like that i might even search late up for some drums might get lucky probably not i want to get all the hardware down on the wheels first before i start on the lines i don't know why that's just what my brain is telling me to do so i'll be back in a couple days and see if we can get the front end finished and then we'll scoot on to getting all the pipeliners put in there that's not going to be fun well 53 months later i'm back on the ford here i had to take an intermission because i had to find all this stuff and this stuff and i used up all my interweb megapixels and i think i got her now because apparently ford you know they have three quarter ton pickups and then they put half ton brakes on them that makes sense nope not at all and since i had some time look at this all these springs just broke i mean all the hardware just snapped taking it apart and since i had some time i went ahead and ordered up some drum laters kind of you know broke this one a little bit getting her out of there and then also the inside bearings were shot so i got that race knocked out this one looks also shot you can see the rust in there so i think we'll do some bearings while we're at it and of course you got to get studs because you have to heat these up to about 74 000 volcanoes to get these out so by the time you beat on with the tanya harding they're just basically a nub so you gotta start over on them so a simple brake job is turned into a 7 400 seven month venture basically on the 250 here this side i got some parts laid out over here somewhere i thought it did where'd they go oh here they are got some bearings and bushings wheel cylinders these are apparently the right brake shoes because again three quarter tons came with half ton or one ton brakes but the one tons came with half ton or three quarter and if you got a half ton they were maybe half ton unless you got the big axles not sure typical ford stuff went ahead and got these guys these were really expensive to be honest they're about 150 bucks but i decided to do that because bradley's going to be driving the truck and if i was driving it i'd descend on her but since the kids are going to be learning and driving on a rig i figured moles will go ahead and do that at least i take some excuses away from the guy for when he runs into one of my cars it wasn't the brakes is what i'm saying what are you building down here oh you're gonna hook it up on that yeah yeah good idea we'll step over it there i think i got this side dialed in not sure because again when i took this off it just it exploded into pieces and i'm not quite sure where everything went and since i've done drum brakes about 813 times this is factual this is way more complicated than a gm is i think this is our auto adjustment thing not sure we've got some more springs in here i don't know this is what i turned my brain on and this is what i came up with this seems roll i mean that's doing something it's hanging in there i'm not sure i got a wheel cylinder this is new and then i got the new brake line set in this is some cheap master or master pro so of course it doesn't fit in there right but it is what it is and i figured out the wheel cylinders for you guys the wc 59 241 and 59 240s are your rears and the 17 19 and i believe 1720 that's gonna be your fronts i think yeah that's your brake best brand there so if you're searching for that that's going to be your part number there and then the brake line that worked is the bh49927 that seemed to work and i'm not even going to show you the shoes because you're just going to have to tear yours apart you got to measure on them because again there's 74 different options for some reason but now that i got one side done i guess i'll go on ahead and and try to get the other side you know spring-related and put back together once i get all of that done then we'll spend seven months beating out those other studs in another three months putting in the bearings and seals and maybe by next summer you know we can have this together and i can get my lift back i just realized that i've got trim on this side and i don't think i have that on the other side and i'm also seeing i miss some moss when i wash this if you look back a few videos you'll see like the whole basically the whole truck was covered and whatever that is lynchings lincoln's seaweeds not sure what do you call it moss yeah i think that's a fairly safe [Music] [Music] well i think i got all 31 springs in you know each side ea probably wrong but we're gonna go with it that's what i got moving on to the drums and the hubs now got both sides separated you got to beat these old ones out but what ends up happening unfortunately is the ends get squished up usually so you got to put in new lugs so i'm taking my torch heating them up and then plunking them right out with the tonya harding and then you just flip your assembly upside down and basically do the reverse with the new lugs and of course i got the bearings and everything in that already guys got this side all buttoned down basically from the frame out we're done with the brake system here i'll give you a couple tips that you'll never use that i do seem to work okay for a guy first thing is brake shoes adjustment there even though these are auto adjusting i slide the drum on and off a few times adjusting that and i want to hear this kind of slightly dragging when i assemble it and then after i get everything buttoned down and bolted up then i'll come back here and make a couple more adjustments to where this is just slightly dragging you can hear that in there and that's going to make bleeding the brakes about 114 easier otherwise you're going to have a really soft pedal or the pedal is going to go to the floor because that wheel seal in here is expanding it's working overtime to get them shoes out against the drum so make sure you got a little bit of contact in there before you start bleeding again even though those are self-adjusting and then as far as the wheel bearing once you get all this assembled just take your ratchet here and just give her the beans bring it all the way around until it bends and that's going to seat the bearings into the races and everything and then just crack her off a little and make sure this spins nice and then drop your pin through that next adjustment backwards and you can play with it a little bit and you'll feel the friction as you bring it forward again but with new bearings make sure you feed her an onion or two so everything kind of gets seeded in there and then i take my dust cap and i scoop that in my axle grease snack it back on there and that's going to force some in and then there's plenty in the cap here so she self-feeds you know when you're going down the road but this side's all finished up just got to move over here to the drinker side now got to get this side finished up here did you finish your car thing yeah all right show us that thing is it a bus did you say it looks like a bus but it's supposed to be a little boom oh a dune buggy oh man look at this thing you got a seat in there and everything have you driven it yet yeah i'll jump in let's see this thing move i don't know if i could fit oh well who'd you make it for then i don't know well it looks pretty good just don't get any hail damage [Applause] [Music] this bearing was just completely smoked in here so i had to clean up all the birds the race basically just exploded and getting out of there with the chisel the guy didn't ding it up this skosh but i got that cleaned up i'll spray it out and then we'll press in the new race get the new bearing packed up and i got a seal somewhere apparently they're important and get this side on yes [Music] wow we're out of juice i don't know i think they should have called these dolphin don't they do better underwater and then liquids and stuff anyway time for the seal going that'll do just fine well the guy did go on ahead and figure miles will show you the initial shoe setup over on this side since we got an opportunity and basically i just run these out a little ways use your memory bank on about where they were or get your old one and just look at it just keep in mind if the shoes are really worn bring it in a little just grab this puppy slide it up on here make sure your inner bearing is seated and then just give her a little twirl i got lots of play in that one bring her off dust this out i don't know there put her back on a little bit more and you can do this through the back on the adjustment slot but i just find it faster just to spin it with my hand [Music] that's it now when i get the outer bearing and everything pressed tightened and all that it's only going to take a couple on the back with the screwdriver and i'll be done i don't have to sit back there for 74 days clicking on it and all that this is just a lot of fun what is this didn't i just clean this hmm there we go she's ready to rock then i take my dust cap run it through the cheek poker cleaner up especially around the edge here you get a bunch of dirt and debris in there then they're hard to snip back on then i just take a big old scoop of some grease that way when i pound her in it just you know gets it in there this side's done just gotta throw the tires on now i can get the air jack out from underneath this thing that'd be nice pajamas geez i'm actually surprised bradley took these off i told them they're a little heavy be careful and yeah i need a bacchiotomy getting these things up these are good old bias fly tires though actual fire stones so i'm gonna hang on to these they're in really good shape they still got the nubs on them and these are the transport 500 vitals fancy [Applause] guys already knocked out the other side but i figured i'd save on this one just in case you're new to the channel and actually thought you might learn something here two important things you really need one is the right size socket i'll cover that here in a minute and the other one is a whole lot of heat we're gonna have to get this thing hotter than megan fox and i ain't kidding you i'm using this harris torch you guys have probably seen this a few dozen times now i actually use it literally every day heating brazing cutting welding you name it it's a model 85 harris torch it's a twin tube design with silver braids connections this came out of the iron worker limited edition camel kit comes with the torch handle hose 2.5 inch easy read gauges and shade 5 glasses as well and i'm actually going to be giving away a kit like this or really similar very soon on the channel during one of my live episodes so if you're not subscribed make sure you do that and jam on that bell thing because apparently that tells you when it's going on we're gonna have some fun play some trivia and someone's gonna walk away with a brand new torch that's pretty dandy behind these nuts and lock washers there's a conical kind of cone washer thing that sits inside of here and locks her up you can't just wheel these off and get it off it's not going to work if you've ever done a lift kit on a chevy square body you know those cone lock washer thingies on the pitman arm on the steering geometry that's basically exactly what's going on back here and they're a bugger to get off so what you're going to do is run that heat down here and just get them piping hot and then you can start tickling it with the tonya harding sometimes you leave the wheel on you could pry against the wheel or take it off and there's some cups in here that you can get a pry bar in sometimes and beat it up this way once those cones loosen up it'll pull right out but that's the first step we got to get through to even think about getting to the brake shoes that makes sense not really [Music] [Applause] be really careful here because this axle grease or this axle oil for the axle juice whatever you want to call it i don't know it's hot is what i'm saying so when you're banging this back and forth and it's shooting around i should probably have a shield on or something that's why i'm wearing these i already got hit so be a little bit careful but basically we still got to work these out when they're hot or we're going to be right back in the same position again you know the fact that this is leaking gear oil right now is actually a good sign if they're really empty that's not going to travel down the axle tube and leak out front here a lot of times this gasket will go out on the end and that's why you'll see those wheels with grease just splattered all the way around them there's a gasket right behind this axle shaft i'm going to let this cool down for about 714 days that'll come right out you are warm i just i got a mess on the floor while this is cooling down let's talk about sock gats real quick when we pull this axle shaft out it's actually going to be double nutted with some big two and three-eighths inch nuts and you need a special socket to get that off trying to save you some money don't get in a hurry and run down the car quest or advanced auto parts without doing your research because you're going to end up with something like this which is an otc wheel bearing lock nut set part number 1936 it says six point and it says two and three eighths perfect no it's not you need a thin wall so what i did was i jumped on that jungle website and for the same price i picked up this bruce lee egg roll kit and it has i don't know seven sockets in it and it has the right one she's thin walled but be careful there's a two and three eighths six pt and there's a two and three eighths 6r the 6r is the one you're going to need and that's going to take that off for you those are really the two main things the guys are going to need otherwise the brake hardware is exactly identical other than there's a blue spring up front it's then brown in the rear because ford and then there's the e-brake stuff back here which i'll show you how that works simple lever basically it's just science and that's it otherwise it's the same this is it's just you know brake shoes whatnot is this so hot these are those cones i was talking about and once these fellers get in there and you torque laid them down they are a stubborn bugger to get out so that's what you're doing with that heat is easing them out and then when you beat on this with the tanya just get in this lip and you want to drive her this way and she'll pop out every now and then give it a lump in to kind of break those cones loose in the seat there this is still plenty of warm got the axle shaft out that's over here and it's really dirty so i'm gonna do the right thing just jam that back in and when you look inside of there that's just mud dirt gravel so we'll just blow on that a couple times gasket on the end is shot we'll just put some rid of around that hope it doesn't leak guys been in here before and replaced on some stuff the most obvious is this huge gap in between the nut and the drum itself that's not normal so this is an aftermarket drum the factory one i mean it's you barely got any room in there and that's how that side was over there the other thing is this massive chisel mark whoever was in here didn't have the socket so they just took a chisel in here and spun this around and then also the locking washer that goes in between the two nuts is not locked in fact it's bent backwards for some reason so that is doing absolutely nothing so the next step is get this socket in here take off this nut slide off this locking washer there's a nut behind that and then the outside wheel bearing will just fall right out and then we can just take this whole drum and snip it off and then like i say the hardware should look basically identical to the front ender i wonder what charlie pride's doing today miss that guy what is the 84 85 we need another album charlie ease this off here wow come on now it's still 900 degrees i'm kidding bring this lock washer on that was not locked that's fine oh that one's really loose should not be finger tight so get this one off wow how long is this now bearing just give her a tug boom power usa so this has been replaced so i'm guessing that's why they were in here was brakes they put a drum on it and they figured miles will put a bearing in it which is the right thing to do which is great because then i don't need to do that when you pull this off prop it up on was this a shaft tube thing i don't know what you want to call it just get her up and profit because that reason and i think we just had a bird's nest come out of here that's fine better than mice shoes look brand new probably just wasted my time great this one looks brand new basically nothing wrong in here okay shoes look pretty decent although i noticed this right away see this big raised groove it's not in it's raised that already tells me that the drum laying over there on the floor by the door leaking oil on the entry mat has a big old nasty groove in it and base that these shoes are fairly newish looking in fact i can read them means that they rode these all the way down to the metal completely destroyed the drum which is now the second drum put shoes back in it and a wheel bearing and buttoned her up also they apparently fought the e-brake cable because that's no longer coming through there and hooked into here and i'm not sure where that oh it's just tucked up into the bed okay you don't need them but everything else in here is absolutely identical to the front same spring across the bottom this is brown back here at the blue in the front these are green new red in the rear and i think green up front but it's the same spring basically this is the only difference here and how the e-brake works when you jam the pedal down it pulls that cable and up here this levers on top of this little thing and on bottom so what happens is it pivots when this pulls forward this pivots it's going to push the shoe out and that's how your e-brake goes on really really simple design biggest thing i found with these is you got to really try not to snap this stud off because then you're in a world of hurt so i get some liquid wrench in here not a lot just you know sprints it on let that sit for a second and then we'll do it again you know because we just we don't want that to break once we back that off this should go really quick but the main reason i'm in here is the wheel cylinders and i don't know if you just saw that dumping out of there but these are completely shot look at that there's no way those are going to work so all this work just to replace wheel cylinders but while we're in here we'll put shoes and all the hardware in not going to worry about the e-brake because if you drive a manual men don't use e-brakes let's be honest just jam it in gear you know and that's pretty much how i'm going to teach my kids so let this uh soak in for a second then i'll start cleaning off is this bird or mice or maybe it's alligator around the wheel cylinder bolts the wheel cylinder pusher outer rod stick mover thingy adjust the brake shoes make it happen stopper thingy 200s around them through the cheek poker and also the shoe adjuster upper stop and make it happener thingy twister 200 got the new wheel cylinder ready this is the old one and it's looks pretty good you know set that to the side basically get the wheel cylinder bolted in now and just get everything reassembled [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] uh [Music] and down [Music] replacing these front lines first derrick's tip number 914 go ahead and just snip all these lines off like this see and that way a guy can just slide his box end over these and you get more bite on them i've got two out so far the other two might have to get some heat in there and tickle on them the other thing on these ferds is they like to jam fuel and brake juice and all of the important lines right behind the steering box here so i pulled the three bolts out so this it's got some jiggle on her now guy can get a pry bar in there so i can slip them up behind and then there's a little groove behind there hard to see and that's where they sit back in there so i want to get this one over to that side buttoned in it looks like that came up to the top and then the captain's side snips around over here these two are in from the master and then this was the one that went to the rear which was significantly rotted of course just came right off and that's this line right here that one was already blown this one's broke there broke there broke here been spliced spliced there so that one will run all new back to here and i think i even got one of these double upper both wheelie 600 hose things as well how's this u-joint good enough i got the front done and this is a process i ain't kidding you these two here are done up to the master cylinder and then the two front ones off the top here and i got the brake switch she's plugged back in this one was bent perfect these two as well but this one was someone was having a bad day because instead of having a bend this way they had to bend the other way so i had to kind of just you know ease it and snip it up in there but it's all done so now i just have to plumb my own line i'll come in here and get all this stuff out of here plug my own line back here and then put in this little do dabby and i think the kit even came with rear hose and majiggers too pretty positive guy i'm also check this while we're back here checked well that's good so i think we're making some progress finally well i guess now that both sides are done we'll start on the line here and i got this hose thingy you know make it work in the backer line that goes from here to here i'll start there and then there's a little vent tube bolt roll over check valve don't let stuff in let stuff out maybe sometimes depending on the situation bolt that goes through here that's soaking in the parts cleaner right now and then there's a hose i'm not sure where it hangs off of the fords but usually they come up here or something and then we'll get the line which i got most of this out i think this is the last of the bad stuff she was really bad and that just runs down you see the clips every now and then who in here and this should be a pretty straight shot all the way up into this valve juice separator even an outer block right here goes in the bottom and i found these two lines in the kit and they got these big swoopies in them and i'm thinking if a guide bends these out flat this might be what they're figuring on for the back and then we just put a union in from here to over there bring them together and i'm suspecting on that because of this sharp bend right there which should be this right here right that probably these shocks look fine i'm gonna leave them still got paint on them and then we should be good start bleeding i'll probably just crack all of these let them gravity bleed just a touch and then i got a new pneumatic bleeder i got off that jungle website i used one at ken's house when i was working on a valve and it was pretty slick so i went ahead and went on that site and picked me up one too we'll see if that works probably won't but worth a try this muffler is pretty good guys got all the lines in i just got a union up there i'll show you in a sec if you're thinking about doing this on your rig don't be scared of it it's really not that bad it's just legos for big kids basically for some reason the drinker side front and drinker side rear didn't quite match but the captain's side is i mean it's perfect fit right in has all the right bends i had to professionally bend this here which means i hit it with my plier until it fit and then it's a little off here but this side's okay this tube later up there seems to do just fine it even kind of goes where the clips are supposed to go supposed to do something here i guess get there in a second this one i just i really had to bend on it but fit up in here okay i guess and it has a little sleeve on it close enough guy even came in here and greased on some stuff believe it or not and i'm going to regret that because i did the pins up here and now my hands are going to get full of grease when i go to crack the bleeders that's fine oh can't forget about this some other day so i'll try to find this union here actually i think i got one right here i could try to break out snip that in we'll drop her on the ground throw some juice in it hopefully we only have 19 lakes that would be nice that baby's plum dry get a touchdown o'reilly's i don't think that's right but close enough okay so put a little juice back in there might have to crack these lines off and bleed on the master again but i'm just going to crawl in and slowly pump on her see if we can start filling these lines up hopefully i got more jugs around because that one's empty great about four or five petal pushers and she's drawn the fluid down so i don't think we'll have to bleed the master that goodness but we're gonna have a tremendous amount of air in there but that's okay i'm just gonna push a bunch of fluid down in the lines and then we'll bring her back up and crack them open and then bleed on them that way here's your don't do it wrong for the day if you're doing it this way don't get in there and just jam the pedal to the floor because she's in a shoot you know it's going to get that dot four all over the hood and firewall and your face and whatever else take her easy down and hold it then bubbles will come up and then let her out slow so she draws in right now just like this ironically i've got more brake pedal in this thing than anything i own to be honest it would probably even stop but we're going to bleed on them since the little guy is going to be swerving around all my vehicles and the shop soon great gonna have to teach him to hit the dumpster that'll stop him i'm gonna try this 13 uncles thing i got i don't know i can't remember what i paid for it's 70 bucks i think but it's got an auto juicer basically that hooks onto the reservoir and juices up your reservoir and then it's got this vacuum pump later thing that supposedly is going to suck the juice out of it we'll give it a try see what happens i just tried this for a second seems to be working probably hard for you guys to see but there's juice in here i'm used to this juice being black you know did both sides got that much juice out of them i think that's probably gonna work i'm not using the hamster feeder i just threw the ladder up here a guy can just crawl up and take a peek yeah that's probably good or enough ish we'll do the fronts now and then i'll just climb up and test the pedal out and if it gives me any sort of indication it wants to stop just that's all a guy needs is just whoa this thing is rusty though isn't it guy's confidence level was at about 87 so i threw the lid on and snapped her up we'll jump in try the pedal here ouch drug my back on the cab okay oh yeah that's firmer than marissa tommy and i ain't kidding you listen you can actually hear brake hardware moving forgot that i had plates on this maybe it's insured probably not guy needs to test on it let's just run her to dinner and see what happens have no idea when this ran last i know that i didn't have the key and we used jumper cables to steal it that's fine well let's see if we get this thing fired up i found where i hid the key got it is it the right one yep well let's see if this thing fires up [Music] okay i can't remember if this has a choke not a shock missing sure makes her bouncy she fired right up alternator oh she ain't charging late better check that quick so we'll check for charging and then i'll throw these plates on and i think we just just go [Music] it actually isn't charging but i still want to drive it so maybe we just take another battery with i don't know that seems like a good idea look what a guy found the old sending unit i knew i had purchased this but on a previous episode i couldn't find the darn thing and lo and behold i did find it where it should have been the whole time right in the paint cabinet you know and i even got the bolts and the plastic washers and everything so i'm going to put this in here that way we're one step closer to confirming that the dash gauge is bad and i still don't know how much fuel i have surely that's not how it goes is it this gasket shrink up on me or what's the deal here i i can't see my arm went through the seat just now i'm losing ground at least the gas that's in there smells really old well i'm just confused does it go the other direction entirely well help me understand i finally did get that in so let's see what we got up here now nothing oh up she's moving i'll be dipped i didn't expect that inside my brain we've got positive gauge well maybe oh yeah that's working that's pretty handy i'm gonna just adjust on the mirror here and then i'm getting hungry let's get going [Music] [Music] i might have to put power steering in this for bradley i wish he was here for the first drive but i know he'll understand pretty soon i'm going to teach him how to drive clutch in this thing come on now i got nothing strapped down in the back brakes oh yeah she stops on a dime and i owe it money good enough here we go first time on the road in 25 years that bottom end sounds a little loose down there well this one's going to be a handful works we're ripping 45 right now just killing it my hangout's about five miles hope it makes it because i am famished this thing's a little loose and goosey [Music] pork chop sandwiches happy hour made it i don't know if there's antifreeze in this thing now that i think about it temp gauge isn't moving it smells like a trash fire in here something is definitely burning hopefully there's enough battery to make it back home because i did not bring another arm but maybe the charger whirler kicked in once i got the rip ems up hard to say be back in a bit leaving the key in this thing for sure guy ended up going with chili just felt right anywho let's see if this thing fires back up uh-oh there we go don't be fussy with me now ah that doesn't sound good but we just gotta keep moving basically oh yeah she's just ready to race they still got corn to take down well these guys got to hurry up going off the road you got to keep it between the buster and the mayo here but it ain't easy i legitimately have a fire under the dash over here getting pretty smoky but i'm just gonna keep driving getting pretty close to the shop hopefully i can get there before there's flames but she is a rolling smoke [Music] she is a smoker and she's cammed up figured out this dash fire the fan switch was on low and this was just billowing smoke and she was piping hot so i just switched her off and that shut that down pretty good needs a fuel make it happener adjustment and the old charging whirlers down that's an easy fix but she made it down back boy she's smokey just hoping those rings would come around but maybe not so much well the old boy he just doesn't have any fight left she does not run well at all that combined with the slipping clutch i could see now why that farmer parked her up this is actually the second 306 cylinder it's had in it so i'm sure he just had enough and parked her in the weeds there it'll be good enough though to tootle around the farm here and for my boy to learn how to drive a manual on and he's got a couple things that he wants to do with it there were some folks that were nice enough to make donations directly to my son bradley during a live feed the other night and he's got some mirrors picked out a muffler and i think front shock so just for the giggles we'll go ahead and throw that stuff on there and then coming up soon i'm going to teach them how to drive this thing and i just i got to start hiding stuff because i just feel like there's going to be some side swiping going on but that's a part of learning thanks guys for watching appreciate it we'll see you next time [Music] you
