[Applause] okay let's go [Music] i'm currently making my way to a 17th century castle that should be abandoned here in the countryside of france it's somewhere behind me here yeah we can already get a glimpse from it through the forest over here i've had this one on my map for a very long time but this is the first time that it's open actually i have a french friend with me and she told me like the castle is open let's go over there you can see the first glimpse of the castle wow there should be horse carriages left behind beautiful rooms statues we're gonna see it all inside these are the friends that i'm with today they're taking me to this castle this is the gate for the castle it hasn't been used in a long time thank you very much can you grab this and fill me please okay yeah we're inside only celine left [Music] [Applause] hey we're on the property [Music] oh the garden looks pretty overgrown neglected for some time oh this castle is enormous literally [Music] today we document the french chateau that has been lost for decades this marvel dates back to the end of the 17th century and has gathered stories over the generations that had hosted important figures almost all of them had something to do with politics of the french government and the castle is now also in the hands of the state if its walls could talk they would tell endless tales but even if they could they would have stopped 30 years ago that's the time when the last family moved out and this ancient wonder got abandoned ah luckily we found our way inside of this place i'm gonna take you on an epic adventure around this castle a 17th century french castle left behind i'm leslie from the pros of dk and let's go on an epic adventure let me start off the exploration here in the hallway of the castle an enormous hallway beautiful designed with woodwork paintings made into it beautiful stoves and everything in here the people that lived here that worked for the government of france and i worked for this region that i'm in right now as i'm not exactly sure what their position was but they were pretty important people around this area but they left behind this place for some sort of weird reason and it nobody actually knows why they left it behind but they seem to have left it behind in a hurry that's pretty strange there's not much known about this place but i'm gonna try to figure out while going to this castle let me start off here by seeing how weird it is to hang a chandelier from a goat hanger yeah but it's a beautiful glassware chandelier it used to be somewhere here in the home [Music] wow look how lovely this hallway looks with the woodwork and the design and i believe in here they would feature statues but they seem to not be present anymore a red upholstery chair okay and i also want to show you these paintings here above the doors on this side and on this side there is another one i'm gonna try to get a little bit closer to show you that wow wonderful and of course you would also welcome guests in here you would have shares in here for less important guests they would stay here in the hallway would get a drink and then there would be a gun again but you would provide them some heat with this incredible stove i think it's copper work you can see the bronze and copper coming through it it's also yeah it's quite heavy this would be coal stoves they would give lots of heat nice warmth this is the door that opens it up from the side oh and also the light switches i adore to my knowledge the place has been left behind at this point for around 30 years nobody does anything with this place anymore for the last 30 years a few cabinets made into the wall here into the wood wall that open up nicely and show you their insides over here we have another doorway leading to the outer big grand door where you could come into the place and i think this was the main little entrance because this leads to the big gate this door that we see over here this leads to the big gate i also have a chandelier represented here in the hallway and this ceiling as well wow beautiful table here to the side and on that side you would have a mirror because before you went out of the house you could check your costume a little bit see if you look nicely if your hair were nice and you could go to your meeting or whatever you have to do or just go play golf whatever people do that lives in living castles before i go further let's check these boxes these crates and they seem to always be filled with blankets oh i see also there's a hat horse riding head left behind people in france are really big fans of horse riding so sombreros in here would be kept the jackets the hats of the people that they all needed when they went outside of the house so they could grab it easily i'll leave the place through the door over there oh what a mesmerizing stairway this one is a true beauty two flights up it goes no tree flies excuse me i'm gonna take you to all those stairs all those levels and show you what's left behind there but first we have to we have more to see here on the downstairs floors beautiful pillows all around oh look at this deer head it used to hang somewhere but now it's here on the couch wow this is the door where i just filmed from behind that we couldn't open when we tried to get into the place it's this side you can see it's locked up over here an old school phillips vacuum cleaner we have over here i haven't found any dates yet normally i know a lot of history but over on this place i just know that it's built in the 17th century maybe we can find something more going through this place we can come into another grand room this looks like it used to be a bedroom but now it has to be converted into some sort of a piano room and why do i think that this used to be a bedroom i hear you thinking that's because it's encaved you can see there's an engagement in the wall and french design is usually they would put a bet in the middle of here but now there's a grand wing piano over here [Music] still place that's amazing [Music] wonderful room i also really adore this mirror with the design work up there also have a look at this face down here this looks like some sort of a shiniest min vase but it has been yeah it's broken and they tried to repair it as you can see it didn't do a good job on that in my opinion you can see the seams where they glued it together oh i also really adore this piece of furniture over here some sort of a storage bin completely plastered and designed like that wonderful wonderful they don't make things like this anymore and they stored some canvases in here and some paintings that probably made themselves this one is lovely let's have a lady of some sort okay there's one more room here to the side let me see oh there's a little closet there oh this is where they used to store their piano music and stuff like that let me see you can see this they played on the piano over there and they had their special closet for it but i stored all the songs that they could play on the piano wow i just adore walking through these places through these castles because this gives you a real sense of how people back in the day this is a castle from the 17th century used to live like what items they used how they did business and stuff like that i think it's really important to document this because when you go to a museum it's all set up but here it's all real it's all left behind by people that really lived in these places and that's to me that's very important and very important to document and to share with you guys and i hope you appreciate it if you do please go down and subscribe to us and give this video a like and then on this side of the hallway we're gonna enter the living space of the house let's go through here and see this one is nothing anymore but behind here we have the living room look at this place [Music] [Music] what a wonderful living room is this actually this is one of the best living rooms i've seen in an abandoned castle ever with the statue up there of this man looks like a military man a culinary something like that beautiful designed then on the walls you have these paintings with the curtains and the design above it wow two angels chilling out beautiful curtains here a mirror in the middle representing the room i literally just can't believe how how i can find these places on and on again and they keep getting better and better a living room like this in an abandoned place can you imagine something like that just have a look at it and then over there you have a big mirror with the fireplace underneath it to heat up the room how nice would it have been there would be a fire in there we'd be sitting here with the family around this big table just talking and eating and chanting your way into the night wonderful and up there there used to be a channel here hanging from the ceiling i'm gonna give you one last glimpse of this room oh look at the design on this one and i'm gonna go give you one last glimpse before we go to the next floor big overview wow i just saw this box in the corner of my eye oh yes and these are the memories of the people that lived here i think yeah you can see here there's a man and a young lady together and they're probably on vacation of some sort and here's the mother as well so we have the mother and the daughter and the man behind there he's probably lifting this place i'm just assuming here wow so lovely to see memories of the people that might have lived here back in the day this is a full book all with vacation pictures completely filled all around france we also got a letter here it's a handwritten one from 1963 as we can see and it's directed to cher be otris in this letter directed to her she probably lived in here and she got this hand written letter from somebody wow so many much stuff in here this is from the garden of the castle even more letters and postcards oh look at this this is the castle from the front wow that's amazing i will show you a drone shot of it now so you can compare how it looked back then now it's time to take you guys up this beautiful staircase to the top floor and show you what's left behind over there i really adore this staircase and i think the court you see there hanging in the middle is where that chandelier that we saw in the entrance hall was from now it's not hanging there anymore this part of the castle is pretty new i already checked it out but uh i'm not gonna show that wow the stairway is bending you can see it's falling apart i have to be a bit careful in here this place is literally cracking down and i don't think it's possible anymore to restore this place it's going to cost me millions actually you probably still can do it but they tried it and they stopped with it we're coming here on the top floor right now i'm gonna see the bedrooms in this place and everything that's left behind up here i already see a marble fireplace over there oh my god look at the room that i'm entering into oh this one is deteriorating away the whole ceiling has collapsed wow but it seems like they cleaned it out because the debris from the ceiling is not down here anymore that's maybe what they did during the renovation works this closet over here is mesmerizing beautiful this is actually the hallway from the top floor that we are now in this leads to all the rooms up here let's see what we can find this is one of the first rooms presumably it used to be a bedroom yes it still is there's not much left of it like i told you downstairs an encavement in the wall where the bed used to be gold plating around it wow then every corner of the room we have these paintings worked into it isn't that just incredible i'm gonna show you all of them then in the middle of the room like always like every chateau around the world you have a fireplace in there because these buildings were pretty old this is a 17th century building and back then there was no central heating so every single room used to have a fireplace and of course a marble one in here but behind here later on they placed they installed central heating wow be a bit careful i i assume that this used to be the bathroom yeah the bathtub has been taken out or is it over here oh no it's still here not so fancy bottom in my opinion it has legs but they're resting on some screws okay back into the hallway now let's see what there's more to see up here another room overlooking the garden over there does this seem like it used to be some sort of a bureau or something like that i got some newspapers over here oh we got an artifact 20th of august 1990 that seems to be around the date that i expected it to be abandoned around 30 years ago so these might be the last newspapers that were in this place august 15 1990 and this might have been the bureau from the owner where he did his business but it seems to always also have been back in the bedroom you can see again engagement into the wall and the fireplace in here as well it's lovely to think about these things what it might have been what these people did in here how they lived life that's just wonderful oh i see television from my eye another bedroom a less fancy one completely covered with clothes but again paintings made into the wall this side on that side wonderful i was just looking at these heaters but most of them don't seem to be attached in this place this one is just free standing here without any attachment strange oh this one is attached you can also see the spider webs of the last 30 years that nobody has been in this place wow there's another bedroom here abs i assume oh yes and this one is still pretty nice now the bed is a little bit covered with stuff but look at that pearl street bed frame over here and on the back we've got also some more stuff see this is a french depiction of a living room the colonel here then the owners of the house and the maids also in there then i saw badminton racket russell of some sort wow there's even a little doorway that leads us back here this might have been the bathroom you can see the drainage is still here ah this is the walk-in closet of the people here they would change up in the morning dress up in the morning it's pretty narrow actually again a painting above the mirror here now let's go further i think we have seen everything up here so it's time to take a look at that last level of the house i have to be a bit careful up there because as we saw the whole floor was caving in oh my gosh this stairway is literally not straight anymore okay i have to be careful walking up here it feels still stable should stick to the sides of it and here we're coming on the top floor of the place let's see what we have up here oh wow the first thing i see is lots and lots of bookcases with all these different types of books in here wow and up here there would mostly be the maids of the place that lived here these are the less fancy boards of a castle and they had their bedrooms up here mostly the maids of these places were still treated pretty well but not not up to the standards of the people that lived here of course there seemed to be an achievement into the wall something very unusual for a mate that they would do for a mate so i'm not 100 sure of the mates left up here as always also a staircase to the attic which we will do later let's go a little bit further here on this top floor wow look over here completely collapsed these actually look like normal bedrooms shoe down here wow it looks actually pretty nice to my opinion the wallpaper and everything and some children's toys as well left behind look at these little vials here and again another painting in here that's something that they would never do for a mate so for sure the maid wouldn't have left up here more bedrooms here to the sides wonderful to see all of this that would have lived a pretty big family in henderson this place also a door the windows and one last run this idea with the bathroom and some videos on the floor i'm gonna really carefully go up this attic and if it if i don't feel like it i'm just gonna stop okay let's go ethics are always my favorite places of the house where the most memories are let stored see if this one is still pretty nice see already some furniture up here nah some bad frames and stuff like that so that's not worth it okay let's go back down let's head back outside as you can see this place is collapsing all the way everywhere it's actually a little bit newer part of the castle and here we also came in i haven't seen this bedroom yet wow it's an upholstery bed and everything still made the last things before we go out of this place there's even an yeah kind of newer television in here lovely to see all of this let's go down the spiraling staircase i love the woodwork on the wall these people were also really big into horses and stuff like that and we're gonna see it coming back when we go outside because they have a horse carriage storing place as you would call it and actually also a big ranch for horses to ride horses and stuff like that but first let me show you the front of the castle this was the garden this is where they drove in with the car what a beautiful place from the front wow literally mesmerizing the horse garages are over there is a house of birds there what's that the circular house yeah i think this is good to see because it's something very big it's some sort of a tower oh it's a birdhouse oh really wow this one i've never seen like that before so my friend celia just told me that this big tower here in the garden was used as a birdhouse i can see the door is open and this if this is true this is literally the biggest birdhouse that i'm ever going to see in my life wow yes let the words open oh my gosh have a look at this yes that's true the birds would fly in here and i would make their nests in the wall of this birdhouse wow see even some remains of the nests are left behind incredible and over here to this side of the place we have this huge horse house as you would call it this is where the horses would be stored where the horse car just would be stored let us see if there's anything left behind in here see um this truck over here there's a truck an abandoned truck sorry for the lighting it's pretty bright in here you're gonna see it now this is a horse truck chevo de courses that means a horse horse carriage truck something like that this they would use to go to big events with and stuff like that oh there's a big lock on it see a big lock here i locked it up pretty good maybe this one's open and give you a glimpse inside of this house yes it's open oh my gosh have a look in here [Music] let me show you these beautiful horse carriages they were used by the owners to be carried around in to the town and stuff like that wow i've never in my life seen something like this that's why i do urbex to experience stuff like that this have a look and seeing an old-school probably 20th century horse carriage and actually know some stuff about it i can tell you some things see this rope here this was used to pull out the window like that and this little lever here was used to lock and open the door and this one i'm not 100 sure about let's look in there what's that oh yeah that's probably to hang a light from [Music] and this window has the same curtains hanging from it i'm going to go out curtains and you could open and close this front window as well beautiful upholstery chairs in here wow let's close it up neatly and the rider of the horse carriage would sit up here up front and uh yeah the people that were in here they would be dry and he he would be sitting here and if it was raining he would be completely wet but it would still be yeah it would be it would still need to drive it and i haven't talked about this buffalo yet and this wild board that's here wow i think they used to be in the hallway of the place [Music] we've got another boar's head on the wall over there here's another horse carriage wow this one has a different type of window style doesn't have these curtains but i don't know how to open this one oh it has them but a little curtain is gone leather upholstery in this one [Music] so nice give you one last front view [Music] okay here i'm gonna end the video like here real horse carriage rider and i wanna thank you all for watching this video of
