A Guaranteed Crappie Fishing Technique For Catching Crappie During Spawn

howdy folks Richard gene here this video right here is based strictly on shallow water fishing I'm fishing for pre-spawn crappie crappie that's just now moving in to spawn during fronts they'll move up my bad front comes water temperature drops they'll move off out of the shallow water the females will absorb their eggs ribs or the rig's temperature he gets right they'll come right back it's just like that every spring a lot of fronts here lately so it's a sea salt type thing back and forth back and forth but this trip right here I found them and found them shallow and this is a great technique to use small float okay in this video two pound test line limber rod light action rod this is an Eagle Claw six foot light action rod with a Garcia reel like I said load it with two pound test line and right here's the business in this is a parry jig man from Texas makes it makes all kinds of different colors in stained water I like this golden red or Gulf go to chartreuse tail works real good it's a 1/32 ounce jig with a number six sickle hook okay depth is what's important you have to adjust this float find the correct depth when you do this vertical presentation under this float with a jig tied with a loop knot will catch fish when a lot of methods won't the only thing that will beat it and sometimes it does sometimes it don't is live menace that's how effective this technique is there we go there's another my name the Bible he's Purdy with that rain hitting on top of water look at even my head when I put the hook any it's pretty fish that's a black crappie come here gotcha and that's a female see her Bailey he's full of eggs full of eggs let's let her go right here let her come on back in there thank you sent another kiss right there see if we can pick up another one maybe this rain to let off there is one right there what about that Wow crappie really I'll tell you they fight if you are Matt you tackle look Eddie look look this is a little better fish right here no doubt I'm just gonna let him wear yourself out I mean this is a lot better finish take the truth but you gotta let them wear their self out look here what a crappie that's some black crappie we have quick quick quick quick hey hey hey man that's the King Kong right there folks they ain't nothing like it look at I'm gonna try gold let me back off just a little bit I'm gonna try this gold one it's getting a little bit darker and overcast plus the water stained a little bit so crappie I think you're a lot like bass as far as a preference for for real visible colors now the water is not real muddy but it is dingy in its overcast so gold seems to be a great color under these conditions so let's try that see if we can get a few more to hit water is high so the conditions are different then when I fished here last infra those of y'all just now I believe in singing especially on these hand tied jigs and I always put a little bit of power bait only I take advantage of that fact that they're made out of that type of material all right let's ease back in here on this particular top before we leave that was a big crappie now when you're getting that crop of fish which means that that year's hatch it's possible to catch a 2-pound plus no doubt I've done that a lot of times but now we're backing her again and barely moving it it don't take much action at all matter of fact the longer you keep in front of that crappies face no matter what time of year the better off you'll be [Music] fish around this tree right here a little bit this tree right here set up in 8 feet of water and there's limbs as y'all can see hanging off in the water and the deepest part of it's right here on the end and they make a cast right in there that's where I would expect for there to be a crappie there he is right on the into there just exactly where he's supposed to be in yeah I hooked him real close someday crappie that's why I keep coming to this spot folks there are some big fish in here right now you know open your mouth in the potential look at there what across me the potential for catching one to two and a half pound is a we up there and I know that look at that what a fish that's let him go it makes me come back going back in there now he was set up just exactly right I'm a little bit close but I'm gonna cast right to the end of that again there could be another one right there look there he is - that's important you can talk all you want - you know how you daddy say hey son hush now the fish won't bite what it was daddy wanted you to hush because he just wanting to focus on fishing that's the truth it's the banging in the noise - popping dropping stuff in the boat and stuff like that that type of vibration is what I kill you fishing let's go back over there again get it real tight I'm just twitch twitch let the jig settle down under the float twitch twitch twitch and I don't mean hard twitches I'm talking about just moving the bait that make it look real but not real aggressive it's not him it's not going to cause him fish to buy it any better by being aggressive with them you're just wanting to make that little bait look natural boy that looks like a good place to catch the crappie right in there there's a lot of there's a tree laying down and a lot of wanted to get right here Elmo could it be I believe it is let's back off of that a little bit water crappie you know let's get off of there that was a quick bite quick bite go jigs doing it overcast days I believe you know go jigs now pink fennel would probably be good right now to come here oh what a cow that's why I keep coming back folks clear I know a lot of places catch crappie but now them are quality that ain't nothing but quality goodness get back in there they don't thing there we go yeah oh that's a rock crappie that's another good pattern Wow - well that I'll Taunton meaning I'm excited again it's a big crappie big crappie Wow I mean a girthy fish I left my head at home left my range a can that boy rain jacket at home I'm soaked I'm glad it quit raining but there he is that's a good fish I want you to look what a crappie let's let him go crappie will get around rocks okay they'll spawn increase spawn around rocks Bluffs it's not just treetops here on Gunners war they'll get on flats where there's a few stumps and spawning stumps rocks edge is a meal full treetops around dogs see there's a lot of different places that crop your spawn there we go that one almost slipped up all oh no I can't talk it I was looking off in another boat folks not paying attention and look back up and this big crappie had that float down crappie I know the one everyone that I've called today is being mules I mean look at him he'll finally get tired oh my goodness come here boy Oh me you almost got by me that's a good fish right there my goodness I have wore this hole out every time I get a bite it's a big fish every time tell you what boy there he goes there we go Wow we loosen the drag just a little bit fish is going haywire ten you want I have wore this whole a thing no dad I'm fixing have to come in open now I'm fixing to have to look there that's a female full of eggs full of eggs let me get pliers release her that's a big female too we go let's let her back she is full of eggs get him back you know girl [Laughter] [Music]
