I'm Richard gene the fishing machine I had a viewer to ask me how did I tie Luke nod you know there's several ways to tie one and also in this video I want to show you something very important then I've been hiding it for years and it's my way of holding a jig on without it coming off and without it ever slipping okay folks what you do right here it's real simple excuse my hands please because I've done carton or work for a long time they're just now starting to heal up I quit about eight months ago but what we're going to do what you do is stick the line through the eyelid just like that and I pull about five or six inches extra okay I'm going to reverse the jig so you can see this okay I use my middle finger okay and I make me a loop okay go through the loop three times if you go twice to not a slip if you go three times it won't slip okay that's the third one then I take the eyelid and I grab these two lines and then I pull simultaneously real close to the island okay then I pull the knot over the top of the eyelid like that and then pull the knot towards the eyelid now what that leaves is about a quarter of an inch in between you're not in the eyelid okay and then cut your tight tagging off real simple not real strong I've never had it slip very important not when you vertical jig for crappie now if you'll notice that that's hanging at about a 90-degree angle this jig is not balanced perfectly but some of them is not I'm gonna show you how to balance the jig and also how to hold your jig on perfectly it will not come out okay folks now I'm fixing to show you a thing that I created and this is my creation that I've been doing for years probably about 20 years and I've not showed or told anybody about it and here it is here's a typical jig that's rigged up you can see that you have the lead collar right here I call it a collar that goes along the shank of the hook okay let me push it back in after you catch two or three crappie this becomes weaker and weaker and weaker as y'all fishermen know if your crappie fisherman you know that so the remedy a quick fix to that was to put superglue right here on it just to dab or to and push it back that works well for a while but not for very long and compared to what I'm fixing to show you okay let me take this jig off and show you what I do is get a pair of fingernail clippers okay and I'll cut behind the ball of the jig head cut the collar plumb off snip it off now what I've done right here is reduce the weight of the jig head so you need to take that in consideration if you like the vertical jig like I do you may have to change jig sizes okay you know y'all know what I mean now here is some dental floss any type of work and what I do is about half way of the hook shank I'll start wrapping this dental floss along this shank okay you don't have to be real neat about it it's just going to serve a purpose and you'll see right here in a second what I'm talking about and then what we're gonna do is just tie a couple granny knots or any knot that you want to to tie okay it's a little bit difficult I'm having to be real tight with my work okay that that's just one but you want to put two of those in there and just snip it off well I'm having it if I could move my hands a little bit folks like it but you get the general idea okay let me put this down I already have a jig prepared and I'll show you what I'm talking about okay here's one that I finished with a whole lot this is this jig here has got a sickle hook in it and I love sickle hooks for vertical jigging it's also at 1/32 animals okay you can see right here I've already tied the dental floss around the shank of the hook and what I'm simply what I do is I perfectly right in the center of the jig go right down the middle and it's got to be perfect for me to fish with it go ahead and track it out perfect well that's not perfect let me go in here like it should be we don't want a halfway anything on our channel just like that that's perfect take this super glue and put it on the dental floss been doing this for years this is why I can catch 25 or 30 crappie off for one jig push it down in there now what happened right there the superglue soaks through the dental-floss bonds to the hook the outside of the superglue on the dental-floss bonds to the plastic when this sets up it's hard to grab this jig head and pull this off it takes a lot of effort to do that that eliminates your problem all together okay it's a lot of trouble to go through but yet it ain't I can rig about 50 of these up in no time have them pre-rigged and all I have to do is fish with them when I get on the water okay okay folks here's my jig tied with a loop knot which I always do that for vertical fishing okay so you can see it's balanced out is about a 90 degree angle okay when I put this jig on here and you know in the summertime I fish anywhere from about 10 all the way down to 20 foot in deep or depending on where the fish are okay and here's my jig now you can see it's not at a ninety degree angle but once I get it down to those depths the water pressure and because this jig itself is plastic will raise this jig up in a horizontal position just like a menace swims therefore when your vertical jigging it simulates ximena perfectly that's why a loop knot is really important I don't have to worry about my jig slipping that will hold that's a hundred percent guarantee how to of minds that I've been keeping secret for years will work for you okay it holds this jig on better than anything that I know it'll hold its permanent but you know what I'm gonna try to be normal no way whoo I ain't normal hey go fishing when you can [Music]
