[Music] pays to you Adonai our God sovereign of the universe who has chosen faithful prophets to speak words of truth praise to you Adonai for the revelation of Torah for your servant Moses for your people Israel and for the prophets of truth and righteousness amen you may be seated we would like to give a warm welcome and shabbat shalom to our facebook live viewers as well as our YouTube audience and those visiting our web site from around the world we pray yaws blessings upon you in a mighty way as you are seeking to grow in truth and in his character of love and the whole assembly that's behind me here since their love and Shalom to you as well this morning's Torah portion is vieira envira is found in Genesis about the story of Abraham my era actually means and appeared the revolve is the ant and the era is appearing and it's all about God appearing and manifesting himself in human form very fascinating analogies that we are going to bring out today prophetically as well as physically and then look at the spiritual application because oftentimes he appears in manifests himself when his power can be made known through barren women and in many ways we're gonna draw analogies of the nation of Israel and of Yeshua and how at different times like Yeshua came from a virgin was considered a miraculous conception we're gonna look at many different miraculous conceptions this morning in theme with Sarah who was 90 years old and barren and she had a promise child promised to her and God was going to create this miraculous conception and so not only does he appear and manifest himself in human flesh but he also is a covenant keeper and he can work in miraculous ways if anybody thinks it's too difficult for the Lord to work through a virgin or to work through a barren woman we're gonna see multiple accounts of that today and the haftorah is paralleled with the story of Elijah in 2nd Kings chapter 4 about the barren woman that Elijah used to go and stay with and he said in 1 year from today you will have a son and God spoke through him and made a promise and she had a miraculous conception as well and this is why we read this haftorah on this Shabbat that the tour portion is about Abraham and the promise to Abraham through God manifesting himself that he would have a promised son so we're gonna look at this parallel of God appearing promising a son that Sun is gonna happy a son of miraculous conception and birth but then the son has some type of death that is necessary what happens and then there's a miraculous resurrection and so we're gonna see many themes that parallel Yeshua and the birth and life and death of Israel and Israel is also having a miraculous resurrection the dry bones are becoming flesh in our day zekiel 37 is being fulfilled so we're gonna parallel all of these things this morning but I'll give you a little overview of the tour portion and the haftorah the tour portion is found in Genesis who are Bereshit chapter 18 through chapter 22 and in this we see the word vieira when it says and the Lord appeared to him in the plains of Mamre and he sat in the tent door way in the heat of the day so we are going to parallel this aspect of God appearing to promise him a son and the son coming from a miraculous birth and conception with the haftorah about Elijah doing the same thing with the woman and you can find the haftorah in second Kings 4 and we'll read pretty much the whole chapter up to verse 37 in this week's Torah reading God appears and promises a child to Abraham and the barren woman Sarah which is going to be a reoccurring theme despite childless Sarah's advanced age this week's haftorah describes a similar incident that occurred many years later the prophet Elijah assuring an elderly childless woman that she would bear a child now sometimes in a Jewish mindset you will hear a lot of anti missionary rabbis saying God doesn't work that way he doesn't manifest himself in human flesh and he does not do miracles of you know giving birth through a virgin or any kind of miraculous conception and yet we should not be surprised as Jewish people because it's throughout the Tanakh it's throughout the Torah it's with Sarah and even Isaac's wife Rebecca and with Rachel which was Jakob's beloved with Hannah with Samson's mother these were all preparing women why should we be surprised that God can have a miraculous conception because he's in the business of miracles so the haftorah describes two miracles performed by the prophet Elijah and we're gonna look at some of the symbolism of both of those the first miracle involved a widow who was heavily in debt and her creditors were threatening to take her two sons as slaves to satisfy the debt when the Prophet asked her what she had in her home the widow responded that she had nothing but a vial of oil Elijah told her to go and gather as many empty containers as possible even borrowing them from neighbours and friends as well she should then pour oil from her vial into the empty containers now I want you to think of the symbolism as we're gonna read the story shortly we know that oil is one of the things that the five virgins were lacking enough of and King David says thy word is a lamp unto my feet so if the word is a lamp and the oil is the fuel for the lamp what is the oil but the Spirit of Truth leading us into deeper truths through our study we're acquiring oil if we let this Holy Spirit guide us in our studies of God's Word that's how we fuel the fire and that's how we become a light to the nations as well as living torez so we're gonna look at some parallels between the debts that we've been in and this these two sons Elijah or Elijah told her to gather as many vessels and to even borrow vessels and that's kind of like Israel we are empty vessels we want the Spirit of God the oil to fill us but it's God is not content to just save Israel he scatters Israel amongst all the nations so that in a sense we can take these borrowed vessels of the nations and fill them with the light of Torah as well there's a analogy here prophetically well this woman did as she was commanded by the prophet Elijah and the oil miraculously continued to flow and fill up one vessel after another until all of her vessels were full and all of the neighbor's vessels that she had borrowed were full and it wasn't until her son told her we have no more vessels to add any oil to that the oil stopped flowing the woman then sold the oil for a handsome profit and had enough money to repay her debts and to live comfortably it's kind of like our salvation our faith is a faith that works and our debts are paid how we always say that Yeshua paid all of our debts but if we continue sinning if we continue in Torah lessness don't we continue to acquire more debts and we know that sin is the transgression of the Torah so in this way this oil is very symbolic of our studies in God's Word preparing us as vessels for his service in righteousness revealing a faith that works righteousness and this is how we are deemed worthy to be saved remember Messiah comes and he says his reward is with him to recompense every man according to their works so this is very important to understand that a lot of our debts are balanced in the great scheme of the judgment between how much we are seeking to align ourselves with God and his Torah and righteousness versus how much we have hurt people or acted selfishly and it's like the scales of judgment are being weighed about each soul the second miracle that we will look at this morning is Elijah would often pass by the city of shoot'em where he would dine and rest at the home of a certain hospitable couple this couple even made a special addition to their home Upper Room as a guest room designated for Elijah's use when he was in town when the Prophet learned that the woman was barren he thought to his servant what can I do for this woman - you know bless her for letting me stay here and they couldn't think of anything that they needed but the servant said you know she doesn't have a child so Elijah said then we will pronounce we will speak into existence that she will have a child one year from in one year's time this is the same thing that God when he manifested in human flesh and ate with Abraham said to Abraham your wife will have a son in exactly one year's time and we will come back and visit you at that time this is Elijah knew this story of Abraham and so he had faith that God could work in this way and then indeed one year later a son was born to the aged couple a few years later the son died very interesting parallel you have somebody manifesting the word about a promised child this miraculous conception happens and this child is born and then he dies this is a amazing parallel with Yeshua and then we see that Elijah comes and resurrects him so it shouldn't be surprising to our Jewish brothers at all how God works he's been hiding in the Torah and in the prophets the plan of salvation and how he works he says I do nothing unless I reveal my plans through my servants of the prophets this is one of those hidden glimpses of how God is going to work even through his only begotten son few years later when the one son died the Shunammite woman laid the son's body on the prophets bed and sent a messenger to go and get him in that guest room where he was staying and Elijah hurried to a woman's home and then we see him resurrecting the son very interesting things that he does to resurrect his son at first he sends his staff with his servant to lay on the boys face and it makes me think about Psalms 23 when David says though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil I rod my staff they comfort me was Elijah thinking about Kings David's words when he sent his rod to kind of put this soul at peace until he could get there and resurrect it interesting so we're gonna see these parallel events being paralleled prophetically and physically and spiritually God appears by adhara and tells the future about a promised son God makes a barren woman conceived miraculously then the promised son dies and God resurrects the son very interesting why did the Jewish people when they could not study the Torah take this Hoth tour from the prophets to parallel the Torah portion and how can they miss it all the ways that these parallels parallel the way God worked with Abraham the way he works with Elijah the way he even worked with Zechariah and Elizabeth in the New Testament with John she was barren and she was of old age did you know that when John was conceived Jochen on the immerser and then of course mary has a miraculous conception as well so let's turn to 2nd Kings chapter 4 and look at this story and then we will go into more symbolic parallels the wife of one of the guild prophets explained to Elijah your servant my husband has died now in prophecy the wife is usually symbolic or the woman symbolic of Jerusalem like when it talks about Jerusalem wondering where all of her children came from when Israel comes back home because they've multiplied in the many nations you could look at any reference to a woman as the people of God and the City of God and it's interesting that she's the wife of the prophet of one of the guild prophets and we know that Israel has left Jerusalem and there's been many patriarchs and prophets who have died and she says you know that my husband died and that he feared the Lord now a creditor has come to take my two children as his slaves you know as I was reading this in Hebrew this week it made me think about the two houses of Israel she's got two sons Israel has two sons it's Israel and Judah the two sticks and they've really been in debt in debt to sin and both have had a different exile Judah to Babylon for 70 years and Israel was prophesied to be out of the land for 390 years but if she didn't repent of her idol worship she'd be punished 7 times more over and this seven times 390 is two thousand seven hundred and thirty days from the time that Assyria captured the northern house of Israel tilt 2008-2009 she's been migrating north and west and multiplying in all of the nations forgetting her identity but now the punishment is over and if you notice there's been an awakening since 2009 and this is like the two sons that have had these great deaths and the woman is crying out for her sons just like Jerusalem longs for both houses to come back together which we also ultimately know will happen in the age of mashiac and Elijah asks her what should I do for you tell me what do you have in the house she answered your servant has nothing in the house but a flask of oil it's kind of like in the house of Judah you know we have nothing we've lost everything but we've got our Torah scrolls this is what we hold on to this is all we got let's see if we can multiply it then he said go borrow containers from all your neighbours and this could be indicative of going out to Babylon and to Persia and to the north through the caucuses with the northern 10 tribes we're drawing a prophetic parallel with Israel and this story and he says I want you to borrow all the containers don't just borrow a few and this is like the purpose of Israel being sent out to take the vessels which are our bodies our souls - from the nation's God has sent Israel to save the nation's he's not just content to fill up Israel's vessels and Judah's vessels but go and the borrowing of other vessels is like Israel going out and telling the good news the bass aura to the nations and in so doing what happens more vessels are grafted in to Israel it's prophesied that Tim Gentiles will take the Zeit seat of one Jew and say let us go with you up to the house of the Lord and learn of God's ways and this is what we're beginning to see so this is like the empty vessels he says I want you to take these vessels and go in your house and shut the door with you and your sons inside and pour oil into all these containers this could be likened to the Spirit of God most fully filling our empty vessels and the vessels of others in the nation's before our debt is paid you know Israel was not prophesied to see the coming of mashiach until it says the Mellow the fullness of the gentiles and this is in a way our calling and our purpose once we recognize our identity and he says as they are filled I want you to put them aside so she left and shut the door on herself and her sons they brought her the containers while she continued to pour and when the containers were full she said to her son bring me another container but he answered there isn't another container and then the oil stopped flowing and this could be likened to the prophecies that say in the last days there will be a famine but it won't be a food in water it'll be a famine of the word of God the Spirit will stop flowing everyone will be settled whether this is when revelation says let the righteous be righteous still or let the wicked be wicked still God is gonna seal his people and those who are not sealed will take the mark of the beast she came and told the man of God and he said go now sell the oil pay your deaths then you and your sons can live on what's left and this is like the five virgins that had enough oil and they were able to go into the bridegroom's chambers then the story changes from this one story with all of these parallels it changes to the Shunammite woman who was barren one day Elijah visited unum and a well-to-do woman living there pressed him to stay and eat a meal after this whenever he would come through shoot him he would stop there for a meal she said to her husband I can see that this is a holy man of God who keeps stopping at our place please let's build him a little room on the roof we'll put a little bed in there and a table and a stool and a candlestick then whenever he comes through town to visit he can stay there one day Elijah came to visit and he went into the upper room to lie down and he said to get Hosny his servant call the Shunammite so he called her and when she arrived he said tell her this you have so much hospitality what can I do to show my appreciation do you want me to say anything to the King for you you know it's interesting this blessing that he wants to impose upon them is because of her hospitality and this was a trait that was well known in the ancient world about Abraham and Sarah we say Avraham Avinu our father Abraham he was the kindest of all men his door was always open to strangers and nomadic tribes coming through it was his hospitality and Sarah's hospitality that caused the Shekinah to come down from heaven and dwell upon Sarah's tent and Sara when she would make bread because of Abraham's hospitality and always inviting guests to him you imagine how much work it would always be for Sara to keep cooking so God would multiply the challah that she would prepare on Fridays for Shabbat it would continue they would have enough to eat themselves and continue all week long to multiply so that any guests that would come through Abraham's tent were blessed with plenty of food and it wasn't a burden on Sara and it's also said that the Shekinah never left her tent until she died and that her candles when she would like those Shabbat candles on Friday night they would never go out they would stay lit which is a welcoming sign when you come through the desert and you see a tent with nice candlelight on it it's a welcoming sign you go there because you're either hungry or you're thirsty so this is a good parallel that we can draw as well for our lives it's not just about our patriarchs and our prophets but what is the principle that brings blessing into our life kindness hospitality it is better to give than to receive the Lord says and so we think about Elijah the very fact that he wanted to do something special for this woman was because she was reflecting the principles of Abraham and Sarah and of God's character ultimately and so he says what can be done for her what can I do to show my appreciation do want me to say anything to the king or to the commander of the army he could have special Legion there protecting her and her husband's household but she answered I'm happy living as I do among my own people he said what then is to be done for her jaha's he answered there is one thing master she doesn't have a son and her husband is old so Elisha said call her and after he called her she stood in the doorway and he said next year when the season the same season comes around you will be holding a son no my lord she answered man of God don't lie to your servant it's like saying don't get my hopes up I've always wanted a son but the woman conceived and gave birth to a son the following year when the season came around just as Elijah had said to her so we see this beautiful parallel of God appearing through the Prophet and promising a son and only Son and the son would come through a miraculous birth and this is all to prepare the minds of God's people for how Messiah would come in his first appearing as the Savior and as the suffering servant as the prophet like unto Moshe he would be born in the house of bread Beit Laham to a virgin according to the word of Isaiah that behold a son shall be born to us and the government will be on his shoulders and you'll be called wonderful counselor mighty God Prince of Peace everlasting father all of these models are all preparing our minds to recognize the only begotten Son of God and why is it that Yeshua is called the only begotten son of God God has many sons does he not in the book of Job we see that the sons of God came to present themselves before God's throne they were coming from all different dominions all different creations Satan came representing the earth because he had stalled the Dominion from the Son of God who has had to have dominion over this earth which was Adam now all other sons of God are spoken into existence when God conceives of something he speaks it into existence Adam was unique in that he was formed of the dust of the ground and breathed into him his nafech into his neshama and his Ruach all three levels of the soul into his human body formed with his own hands and imagine the intimacy of God kneeling down and breathing into his nostrils his own DNA was transferred at that point so where everyone else is spoken Adam was formed and breathed into but Yeshua is the only Son ever created that has come through the womb of a woman and this is why he's called the only begotten he's the only birth son some are spoken some are formed with his hands but he's the only one that's all of these stories pertaining to a miraculous birth were pointing to well when this child was old enough he went out one day to be with his father who were with the Reapers harvesting the fields and suddenly he had this huge headache he cried out to his father my head my head it hurts so the man said to his servant carry him back to his mother when he had taken them and brought him to his mother he lay on her lap until noon and then he died she went up and laid him on the bed of the man of God and shut the door on him and went out she called to her husband and said please send me one of the servants with the donkey I must go to get the man of God as fast as I can I'll come straight back he asked why are you going to him today isn't it Rosh Hodesh this is the new moon and isn't it a Shabbat interesting there's only one Shabbat that falls on a new moon every year and that is yom teruah and it's interesting that you have this parallel of Yeshua's first coming and of this miraculous birth and this death but then in the resurrection the day that he's going to be resurrected what day is it Rosh Hashana its yom teruah it's the day of messiahs second coming when the dead in messiah shall rise first and we who are alive and remain are caught up with him so you can see these little hidden prophetic glimpses of what God is doing revealing both comings of yeshua donna it isn't Rosh adesh okay and it isn't Shabbat yet so this is coming up this that time of year and it's that season but it's not Rosh adesh yet when they're calling the servant they knew that the certain of God would usually come at the time of the holy days thank you for clarifying that she said it's all right then she saddled the donkey and ordered her servant it's in other words alluding to the fact that even though we see that he's saying it isn't Rosh Hodesh Rosh adesh is the time of the resurrection in the future the Shabbat yom teruah that falls on a new moon is the day when the resurrection will happen and it's kind of like saying why go get the servant of God to resurrect our son it's a little hidden parallel there why would this man even say this unless God is trying to reveal something more to us exactly so then she settled the donkeys and ordered her servant drive as fast as you can don't slow down for me unless I say so so she set out and came to the man of God on Mount Carmel when the man of God saw her in the distance he said to gey hozy his servant look here comes that Shunammite run now to meet her and ask her is everything all right with you with your husband with the child it's like he had a premonition she answered everything is all right but when she reached the man of God on the hill she grabbed his feet see she didn't want just the messenger to go back and tell him the story she wanted to personally fall at his feet and tell him so the servant gehazi comes up to push her away from touching the man of God because man of God always kept himself distant from the woman because he would even speak through his servant even when the woman was right there asked the woman what she would like he's always keeping that distance because holiness in Hebrew Hodesh means to be set apart and you don't know what somebody else is doing in their life or what time of month it is and so this is where the rabbi's have started keeping their distance from ladies and from not shaking their hands and sometimes it offends people but there's a reason because they're seeking to be set apart and to remain in this holiness so she knowing this goes right up to him and grabs his feet and the servant wants to push her away but the man of God said leave her she's in great distress but out and I has hidden from me exactly what it is then she said did did I ask you my lord for a son didn't I say not to deceive me then Elijah said to me has II get dressed for action take my rod my staff in your hand and be on your way if you meet anyone don't even greet him and if anyone greets you don't answer and lay my staff on the child's face and like I mentioned earlier this is indicative of though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil my rod and my staff they comfort me the mother of the child said as out and I lives and as you live I will not leave you he got up and followed her jaha's he went on ahead of them and laid the staff on the child's face but there was no sound or sign of life so he went back to Elijah and told him the child didn't wake up now Elijah had never said that the child would wake up he just said go and lay my staff on his face and so this is how the servant assumed oh okay this is gonna miraculously bring him back but it's just preserving him until Elijah can get there so that the spirit does not completely detach from the vessel when Elijah reached the house there the child was dead and laid on the bed he went in and shut the door on the two of them and prayed to Adonai then he got up on the bed and he lay on top of the child putting his mouth on the child's mouth and his eye sockets on the child's eyes and his hands on the child's hands and he stretched himself out on the child and its flesh began to grow warm notice it doesn't say in his flesh or the boy's flesh began to grow warm now you know without the spirit what is the vessel nothing it returns to the dust of the earth it's like in it it's a vessel its vessel started to warm up then he went down walked around in the house awhile and went back up and stretched himself out on the child again the child sneezed seven times then opened his eyes very interesting sneezing seven times there's no number and no detail in the Torah or the prophets that's without a deeper meaning the reason that God had the writers inspired to write certain things in certain details while leaving out so much other detail there must be a reason for the seven times that is recorded that he sneezed and you think about Israel Israel has died Israel was the promised servant of God he promised through Abraham Isaac and Jacob that their seed would be a peculiar people for him and each one of the patriarchs wives were barren so Israel is really a miracle child coming from miraculous birth and what has happened to Israel but through their sins they have died they were captured and dispersed amongst all the world and for all intensive purposes the world looked like they're lost like they've been gone for seven times punishment two thousand seven hundred thirty years it's as if the healing that God is hinting at here is healing for the seven times punishment these seven sneezes are like the seven times of restoration that we're going to experience he says I will restore to you Israel the years the locust has eaten when people used to read Joel chapter two and talk about this prophecy about God restoring the years the looks is even were they the 2700 in thirty years as a seven times punishment that it's going to be restored it's going to be healed and Israel is going to be resurrected this is what the dry bones prophecy is all about they are arising they're awakening all over the world not just by the thousands now we're seeing it by the millions and it's amazing and that's why we have so many conferences scheduled in 2019 from our Phoenix Conference in February 17th and 18th and then we have a Jerusalem conference and then we have in the Jerusalem conference should be around Shavuot in October we have a huge conference in northern India because there's Lost Tribes there that Thomas ministered to that have preserved the knowledge of truth and Torah and their awakening and they're estimated to be about a half million people I have a billion right 500 million people India's one third of the size of the US but they have ten times as many people they have over three billion people in India so this is exciting you're seeing the seven sneezes of this boy hinting at the perfect restoration for the seven times punishment of Israel which it represents you'll I should then called gehazi and said call this Shunammite so he called her and when she came in to him he said pick up your son she entered fell at his feet and prostrated herself on the floor then she picked up her son and went out and this could be prophetically indicative of Jerusalem receiving back her son when Messiah brings the lost house of Israel back home and makes them one with Judah one happy family once again this is why this hot tour begins with two sons a lady with two sons to show you the analogy and then it focuses just on the one son that seems like it died Judah never seemed like it was completely wiped out but Israel seemed like it was completely gone completely lost and so you see God leading our mind from yet that the both house is owed and both debts being paid and the healing and the restoration that comes from the whole house of Israel and we see a double prophecy that not only Israel is God's servant but the promised Savior is God's servant and both have miraculous appearance of God promising a promise son who is conceived through miraculous events and then that son dies and then the son is resurrected both Israel and Yeshua there's so many dual prophecies throughout the scriptures and unfortunately people in the past whether it's Christians or Jews will take it Jew say these prophecies only pertain to Israel and Christians say these prophecies pertain to Yeshua the Messiah and they've kind of been missing the dual application that it's revealing elements of both the house of Israel and of Yeshua so we have a double witness to this principle that we see the story of Elijah paralleling the story of Abraham and the promise that could come to Abraham in Abraham's day the son of the barren woman Sarah yet sac represents Yeshua he is the Promised One who would willingly lay down his life on the altar this is what Isaac did he was about 25 years old when Abraham took him up to Mount Moriah actually the Temple Mount to be sacrificed whereas in Elijah's day the story that we just read parallels the lost house of Israel and so you see double prophetic significance with a double witness revealing both the Savior and Messiah and the lost house of Israel being resurrected and being revealed in Israel the miraculous birth through the barren woman was Abraham's wife Sarah Isaac's wife Rivka was barren Jacobs wife Rachel was barren and the 2730 years are the symbolic period of death where Israel has been lost and the world thought there is no Israel and this is why the church started interpreting during the Reformation years when there's no nation of Israel and the people of Israel they think are dead and gone they say well these prophecies can't be literal so it must be spiritual and so they started saying the churches in the place of Israel not realizing that God's Word will not return to Him void and he is talking about the literal house of Israel being restored and of course that punishment that seven times got over in 2009 and since 2009 you have seen people awakening and coming out of the churches by the droves and they're saying we want to return to the truth of Torah but we don't know why they said we're not Jewish that's what I commonly heard in 2008-2009 we're not Jewish we don't know why we just know we love Israel and we love the Torah later it's revealed to them who they are their true identity is descendants of Israel and this is a very exciting for us to be able to share this with people because this is present truth this is prophecy being fulfilled in your hearing in your day this is the day that our forefathers looked forward to and yet did not see the day that Israel would be restored and awakened and the dry bones would become flesh this history of God working through a miraculous woman is so abundant throughout the Scriptures that should not surprise us whether you have a hard time with understanding Yeshua or whether you have a hard time understanding the lost house of Israel look at Abraham's wife Genesis 11:30 says and Sarai was barren she had no child Genesis 25 21 speaks of Isaac's wife and Isaac entreated the Lord he was interceding with her on one side of the tent and Rachel I mean Rebecca would be on the other side of the tent and they're both praying for a child and they prayed for over 20 years for a child before God gave them a promised child since he was interceding for his wife because she was barren and the Lord was entreated of him and Rebecca his wife conceived and then you have Jacobs wife also barren this way nobody could say oh well this is just natural events I mean it's only by the divine providence of God fulfilling his word because it's not just Abraham who has this miraculous experience Isaac and Jacob it says when the Lord saw that leah was hated he opened her womb but Rachel was barren interesting then we have the story of Samson the last judge of Israel judges 13 2 through 3 says and there was a certain man of Zorah of the family of the tribe of Dan whose name was Manoah and his wife was barren and the angel of the Lord appeared vieira and appeared yo-dee-hey Vevey this is the same verbage that is the name of our Torah portion today so God appears to tell a people about a promised child that he's miraculously going to conceive and the woman said to said to Herbie or the angel the Lord appeared said to her behold now thou art barren and you do not bear but you will conceive and you will bear a son amazing says if God is trying to you know usually we only have a double mention principle and that's enough for us to establish the witness of certain principle but here throughout the Scriptures we have multiple events this is just in the Tanakh alone we've got five here and then we've got two examples in the Brit hadashah in the New Testament with Elizabeth and with Mary in 1st Samuel 1:5 we have the story of Hannah and Hannah was loved by her husband but she was barren and the Lord it says had allowed her womb to be shut so that he when he brings forth a child he can be glorified and everyone can see that this is a special child and of course she promised God this child if you will give me a child I will dedicate him to you and to your service to your temple and so she had this miraculous conception and Samuel is born and when he is weaned she takes him to Eli the priest at the tabernacle there in Shiloh and we've been there and she lower that Tabernacle stood and that's where she presented him to Eli and he was dedicated to the Lord just like he sure was all of these are types of Yeshua Yeshua was a prophet in his first coming this is how the people were expecting to recognize him that's why they're asking John are you the Prophet because Deuteronomy 18 says I will send a prophet like unto Moshe and he will speak my words and everyone should listen to him and anyone who doesn't listen to him will be accountable to me this is what God told Moses he would be like you Moses humble and meek you'd be a prophet and so you see these prophets like Samson and Samuel Shem Yule representing little glimpses of the coming promised Son of God in Psalms 139 David writes God makes the barren woman to keep house and to be a joyful mother of children you know a woman who's alone she doesn't have much housekeeping to do so when it says that he makes the barren woman to keep house that's basically saying you're gonna have a lot of traffic through your house and you're gonna be blessed basically so God is the one who gives the barren woman a miraculous conception and he's gonna make her a joyful mother of children this is what was promised to the lost house of Israel remember in last week's Torah portion it talked about the barren woman and how she would end up marrying more children than the married woman this is likening Judah who stays in Jerusalem to be married but the lost house of Israel who was divorced or released from her covenant because of our idolatry she will end up burying more children than the married one beautiful analogy between the house of Israel multiplying like the sands of the sea and the stars of the heaven versus Judah who is staying there connected to God in Jerusalem I say a54 one says seeing o barren woman that thou didst not bare break forth into singing there's gonna be a time of rejoicing when everyone realizes that God's Word has been fulfilled in Israel multiplying amongst the nations and he's bringing them home now that did not stir veil with child form or are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife says the Lord and in Deuteronomy it was promised that if Israel would follow Torah that they would never be barren but not a man or woman Orion even their animals and the land the land would bear much fruit for Israel as long as they were keeping covenant with God so you have the land that's meant to be fruitful the people meant to be fruitful in the animals but what it is Rael do they followed the ways of the Canaanites they fell into paganism and in many ways Israel has been in paganism for the last twenty seven hundred and thirty years and it's time for us to start coming out of paganism this is why we're studying Torah so that we can be returned to God return to the land and we can bear much fruit and what is our fruit look like the fruits of the spirit if you really have the Spirit of God in you you will bear much fruit not just as a nation multiplying but individually you will bear much fruit so this is the physical principle that's also leading to the spiritual principle Yeshua said in John 15:5 in verse eight and nine I am the vine and you are the branches he who abides in me and I in him that person will bear much fruit my father is glorified in this that you bear much fruit remember in Luke there was a parables told about a tree that didn't bear fruit and it says it will be chopped down every tree that does not bear fruit will be chopped down and that's just likened to the harvest when instead of burying wheat some people are burying tears just like weeds they're not fruitful nothing that can be eaten no sustenance so he says God is glorified when we individually because Israel is corporate of individuals just like God's Spirit is individualized into each one of your souls and when God's Spirit is realized by you and you realize your true identity not just in the house of Israel but in the divine source you begin to bear much fruit because by beholding we become changed into that same likeness if God is love I am love that's the only way I can see it if it's his spirit that's residing in me and that's why the first fruit of the Spirit is love and Yeshua says my father's glorified when you bear fruit so prove to be my sister father has loved me and I also loved you abide in my love he's really focusing on that first fruit of the Spirit love is paramount because that is the character of God and the essence of life itself then he says if you keep my Commandments you will abide in my love this tells us that all the Torah is not just rules and restrictions but it's in how to love it's loving father's instructions in how to love how to love him and how to love our fellow man in whom he's in this is why commandment-keeping can never be done away with that's like saying love and life is done away with and light has done away with he says just as I have kept my father's Commandments so did you schewe break or do away with God's commandments or Torah as the church is taught he says no I have kept my father's Commandments and I abide in his love commandment-keeping and loving is synonymous they go hand in hand second Peter 1:4 says whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises once you realize this that it's God's Spirit in you that is meaning to love and to be a light light and love and life are synonymous that by these things you might be partakers of the divine nature the divine nature is the divine character of selfless love by you realizing your true identity you get to be partakers of this and this is a big part of the good news having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust and besides this giving all diligence add to your faith now this most likely it was written originally in Hebrew but the only translations we have of it is the closest Greek words that were translated from the Hebrew so I looked back in the Greek and you know a lot of times in English we have come so far from the original Hebrew and then Aramaic and then it's translated to Greek and then you know you sometimes have Latin and then English we're so far removed I thought it would be good to really get a feeling for what these words originally meaning to convey because they were trying to find a similar Greek word that was most closely fit in English it just says faith but he's saying have moral conviction of truth when you realize that all of God's commandments are about love you should be so convicted in that that nothing can shake that from you that's what true faith that works it's gonna change your life and everything you do is gonna start being selfless love add to that virtue this word virtua originally in the Greek has a connotation of an excellence and steadfastness as you mature and become a real man or a woman as you mature and become a a matured spiritual beam so you don't just stay in the infancy of your moral conviction but you steadfastly continue to grow and mature in the spirit and in the Lord add to that knowledge well the original word had a connotation of surety in your understanding like apologetics we'd often talk about knowing what you've even why you believe it and knowing being able to support it from the Word of God having that knowledge in Hebrew that words the odd but God is always balanced by hope ma and veena which is wisdom and understanding and how to apply God's Word and when to apply it add to that temperance which is self-control when you realize that love is selfless and you start gaining all these examples of all the great sages and even Yeshua living a life of self-denial as an example then you realize this is how we feed the Spirit by denying the flesh and to deny the flesh and to grow spiritually you have to move from just a head knowledge into a life a spiritual life of self-control otherwise the flesh is always gonna be crying out for this food or that food or for this stimulant or that stimulant and so as we become more spiritual beings and that's why we're studying together it's not about just having the head knowledge but by being true Tom idiom true disciples of Yeshua we follow his example and temperance or is self-control realizing that even if something is clean and good for you too much of it might be harmful or there's certain stimulants that will activate your mind so that it's not at peace or calm and your meditations in God's Word we want to more and more be devoid of self and to be in fasting and praying especially with the days that are coming ahead and feeding the spirit through the Word of God this is why your shoe says man shall not live by bread alone that means don't you feed the physical body but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God because the spiritual word will sustain you both spiritually and physically but the physical word will only sustain you physically and then the spirit dies out this is why Moses could fast for forty days without food and water and then another forty days without food and water and then another forty day 120 days without food and water because he was feeding on the Spirit of God the truth food he says add to self-control patience this means we endure even in the difficult times there's an old saying that a man's character is only as good as it is in his worst hour so if you're looking at the character of God and you're saying wow there's no violence in that there's only pure selfless giving love and you start to emulate that but then times get rough for you and what do you do you fall back into your old habits know what Peter is saying by saying the sword patience is endure continue to live out his character even in the toughest of times and then you will be seen to add to patience and endurance godliness and to godliness this is all leading up closer to that divine image he created in us that he needs to restore phileo or Philadelphia brotherly love when you've really started to grow spiritually and you're walking in the spirit it's gonna be seen not just in you being a reclusive ascetic in your cave but by you showing acts of kindness to your fellow man and brotherly love you always have a kind word you'll always be patient long-suffering just like our God is you will show kindness and compassion to the poor and to the widow and to the orphan if somebody doesn't show love how can they say they're godly or that they know God this is what first John was talking about when he says that kind of person is a liar so Peter is taking our our spiritual growth step by step as he's using these different words and then what's the crowning achievement to become like God with agape love total selfless unconditional love all the time to your fellow man and to God this is our goal this agape love in the Greek for if these things be in you and abound they make you that you shall neither be barren nor unfruitful see this is what it means to bear much fruit and we're talking about Israel not being barren any longer but bearing fruit not just physically in multiplication but spiritually in the fruits of the spirit that you shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our master Yeshua HaMashiach to know him is to know God he is the greatest example of that selfless love lived out in the human flesh in so much that he would even be willing to lay down his life for the whole house of Israel and through this message of this kind of love going out to the lost house of Israel amongst the nation's the nation's get excited about it and they want to be grafted into the whole house of Israel yuxuan ever created any separate religion he was ministering God's love to the whole house of Israel and as the house of Israel awakens others can be grafted in to this knowledge of God and this covenant with God and this restoration that God has for the whole house of Israel John 12 23 and 24 and Yeshua answered them saying the hour has come for the Son of man to be glorified truly truly I say to you unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies it remains alone but if it dies it will bear much fruit we cannot bear the fruits of the spirit unless we start dying to the self to the ego to the false identity we need to live in the spirit the way Yeshua lived in the spirit through fasting and through prayer through acts of kindness this is what it means for us to be sanctified we must be willing to give up all and to die to self then we will bear much fruit in the spirit and what are the fruits of the spirit love joy peace patience kindness goodness faithfulness and self-control this is what we should be exhibiting in our lives if God's Spirit resides in us but they can't coexist with the Eagle and the self this is why we must die to self and this is why a seed does nothing unless it dies to itself the principle of the whole restoration is hidden within a seed in the fact that it can fall from a tree in the fruit and it can lie dormant on the surface of the ground for even many seasons and it doesn't bear new life until it's willing to die to itself that shell of that seed has to break open and then you see that chute coming forth the old seed is no more it's totally opened its vessel let go of its vessel in other words so that new life can shoot forth and from that new life of that one little seed comes a tree that bears much fruit hundreds of fruit and that's like our lives when but we hold on to ourselves and our identity our false identities so much that we're inhibiting our true spiritual growth going to the next level this is what Yeshua was trying to exemplify not only in his own life but in his parables so with that let's stand and we'll close in prayer being thankful that God is seen fit to show us his plan of salvation through his appearing and manifesting in human flesh and that he would promise to us that we would be a promised seed and that even though there's a time for all of us to die the house of Israel needs to die to itself Yeshua exemplified this in dying to himself it's through that that new life can birth forth and this is what we're praying that we can really embrace new life and walk in his spirit and bear much fruit Abba Father we thank you we love you we are amazed by you just in holy awe of you may we have the fear of the Lord that David spoke about that is the beginning of wisdom that we can see in your word the hidden principles of everything that you have planned from the foundation of the world to save kind and to recreate us in your image so that we can be fit for intimacy with you that we can be at one with you that we can return home and experience the marriage of the Lamb and be forevermore in your kingdom and in your temple and live in eternally with you we thank you Father for revealing these things that sometimes are so theoretical and so in our mind that we hardly can believe that we can live it out but we know it's through your spirit of truth that can anoint us and empower us to die to ourselves to trust you to step out in faith and to start living a spirit-filled life very much fruit and exemplifying your character to the world and in so doing father save even the nations those that are farthest from you so we thank you for using us and we commit our lives to you this day as living sacrifices we ask forgiveness where we have fallen short of living out your selfless love father and we just pray that you would live in us and through us and we would be vessels for your service all the days of our life and your Holy Name we pray amen you
