2020 Southwest Believers’ Convention: In God We Trust - Pt 3 (2:00 p.m. CT)

psalm 62 let's go back to it uh in my previous two uh sessions with you we've been talking about what i'm calling in god we trust in god we trust and this uh this passage psalm 62 and i'm reading it from the young's literal translation and uh he he translated it more in keeping with the structure of the greek language the way it flows and that's a lot of times backwards ancient languages from the way you know english goes and notice how it reads in verse 1 it starts off with only this is young's literal only toward god is my soul silent from him is my salvation verse 2 only he is my rock and my salvation my tower i am not much moved only verse 4 from his excellency they've consulted to drive away verse 5 only for god be silent o my soul for from him is my hope verse 6 only he is my rock and my salvation my tower i am not moved i want you to say that out loud with me as your own personal confession let's say it together only he is my rock and my salvation my tower i am not moved what gives you stability well it's what you're resting on if what you're resting on is movable you will be unstable but if what you're resting on is the rock of ages that cannot fail cannot be moved then you won't be moved depends on what we're relying on what we're resting on verse 7 on god is my salvation and my honor the rock of my strength my refuge is in god verse 8 trust him in him at all times oh people pour forth before him in your heart god is a refuge for us salah hallelujah go go with me if you would to jeremiah now we looked at this already but i want to repeat it jeremiah and the 17th chapter it's a little bit quiet [Music] hallelujah you all okay anybody happy in here let me let me see if anybody anybody's happy in here hallelujah jeremiah what is it 17 it talks about blessing and it talks about cursing 17 5 thus says the lord jeremiah 17 5 cursed is the man that trusts in man and makes flesh his arm and whose heart departs from the lord there's a curse on trusting in man no matter what you may think it's somebody say well that's old testament it's still true it's still true god is still i am he hasn't changed spiritual principles haven't changed our covenant has changed our access to him our righteousness is not by keeping the law our works but he hasn't changed there's a curse in relying on man instead of god and he goes on to describe how this curse manifests he said he'll be like the heath in the desert he'll not see when good comes he'll inhabit the parts places in the wilderness in assault land and not inhabited he won't see when good comes that's a curse that you and and you can tell many people that's where they're living in a dry barren dissatisfied dysfunctional state what's wrong why doesn't anything good happen for me what are you counting on to make something good happen for you and you will hear it without exception in bitterness that there was a reliance on man didn't the bible warn us about a root of bitterness well what what was he referring to he was talking about uh esau and jacob well there was a bitterness there he saw against jacob but why it was he saw his own fault that he didn't respect the things of god enough or his birthright or his inheritance that he sold it for a bowl of stew that wasn't that wasn't his brother's num you know it wasn't the greatest thing that his brother brother's trying to buy it off of him but he didn't have to sell it nobody made him but you see that's the way uh pride is it won't acknowledge its own mistakes and faults and it's gonna blame somebody else and again that's saying i'm in the shape i'm in because they wouldn't help me do you hear that bitterness well then what was the original problem they're all in entangled in what happened and how this played out and what they didn't do and what they should have done and nobody cares about me it'll help me and all this but the problem stems back before this ever started in you looking to them in the first place instead of getting their eyes off of them and looking directly to the source we'll see as we go go further one of the biggest parts of our witness is our source that was where you come into the session right there huh i want you to listen to it listen to those phrases the lord gave me that gave that to me right before i came out on the left the left the room he said one of the big one of the big biggest parts of your testimony is your source who your source is what your source is what do you mean well your testimony is what other people see about you your light what should they see about you they should see who takes care of you who meets your needs who enables you to win battles you know they should see not just you they should see your source when everybody's shaking and crumbling and you're strong what is the source of that strength well everybody's shaken and panicky and you've got peace that passes understanding what is the source of that peace what other folks can't pay their bills and you open up a new branch what is the source i said what is the source and when people come to you i mean there should be so many good things going on in your life that people notice and they want to know how are you doing this what are you doing and when that happens don't you dare take credit for it don't you dare talk about how smart you are and how hard you work don't you dare that's claiming to be the source of the increase and that's a lie i said that's a lie you're not the source of your salvation you're not the source of your redemption you're not the source of your strength and your wisdom and the grace and the peace and the plenty and the abundance and no other man or woman is either there are many channels that god uses to get things to you and help you but if it's good every oh somebody help me preach this every good and perfect gift how many how many i know you love mama but if it was a good and perfect gift it didn't come from mama or daddy our pastor there were some good things came through them but if it was good and it was perfect and complete it came from god above the god of light in whom is no variableness neither shadow of turning the unchanging unlimited unfailing capital s source many channels everybody said out loud many channels only one now you see why i read psalm 62 only oh it was only only who's my rock not just god god only who's my refuge god only huh god only god only somebody said what you you know god and and mama and and my wife and my no honey no no thank god for them and if they've been a strength to you but if it was really something that helped your soul and strengthened you it did not come from them it came through them it came from him so come on give honor to whom honor is due and glory to whom glory is due not the arm of flesh but unto your god the problem is that you know the more carnal people are the less real the unseen is to them and so they they want to give credit to what they see and who they see and who they know but don't do it don't do it you know there's been things that happened in our life great things and and and and somebody said something about you know you did it and i said no i didn't huh well you you obeyed god i wouldn't had a clue of him and he told me come on y'all say what i'm talking about so they keep wanting to give you the credit don't take it don't accept it it's not true it's dishonest didn't come from you if it's good and a perfect thing it didn't come from you thank god if it came through you hallelujah there's a curse on trusting the arm of flesh oh but verse 7 17 7 of jeremiah blessed is the man don't you like that that's blessed is the man that trusts in the lord and whose hope the lord is for he will be like a tree not a little stunning bush in the desert and the salt flats but he'll be like a tree that's planted by the waters oh have you ever heard this before this is in psalms you know and he spreads out her roots by the river and shall not see when heat comes but her leaf shall be green and shall not be careful in the year of drought neither shall cease from yielding fruit other translations say it's not even bothered through months of drought that's what we are seeing in the country and in the world right now months of drought economic drought months of drought well what if it goes longer well it's not the perfect will of god but you'll see a difference between those who trust in the arm of flesh they will dry up and those who refuse to depend on man and don't rely on the arm of flesh but trust in god they their leaf will not wilt it'll always be green and they will not stop producing fruit and some folks won't like it how come these are so much better off than these it's not fair and if these have it they owe it to give it to these said who [Laughter] again that you're making these people that have it your source and if people refuse to acknowledge god as their source why do you owe them the blessing god gave you when they could trust god too and he would bring them out i don't care friend if you are sleeping in a cardboard box in the roughest place on the world i don't care if you're fourth generation homeless terrible if you will look up if you will look up and acknowledge god do you believe it or not yes the bible said he takes people from the dung heap and he sits them with princess he delights in doing it he enjoys doing it but if you're going to curse god and you're going to blaspheme and you're going to rebel and you won't listen to anybody or anything the way of the transgressor is hard and if you will only look to man you will be like a stunted scrub bush in the dry salt flats not my words i didn't write this [Music] the difference is rebellion and defiance and unbelief and rejection of god there's no fix for that you can give every dime you've got to fix that and it will never be fixed the only thing that will fix it is a turning to god amen a turning to god don't let anybody make you their source you don't make anybody your source and you don't let anyone make you their source people try to pressure you and so you have to help me you have to help me no you're supposed to be led by the spirit with the resources he's given you and they have the same source you do are you okay or not who we looked at the rich young ruler in mark 10 and we saw that there's a big misconception with a lot of i've heard preachers not so many from our camp but but talk about how that because jesus told the rich young ruler to liquidate and give everything he had to the poor that that is the way to salvation basically you know giving and sacrificing is the way to salvation that's salvation apart from the sacrifice of jesus that's salvation by works and that's the actual actually the opposite of what jesus told him because he asked what good thing can i do to inherit eternal life and that's why the lord told him why why are you calling me good there's only one good perfectly good intrinsically good and that's god what's he telling him he's not telling him he can't do good things he's telling him there is there's not enough good things you can do to be uh good enough to be saved he said well you know what what can i do what can i do and he said well there's there's something you can do [Laughter] there's something you lack here one thing you lack liquidate give it to the poor come follow me you'll have treasure in heaven and you see why the lord put his finger on that because he refused to do it he wouldn't do it and so then he he went away sad and depressed and he turned jesus turned to his disciples said how hard is it for those that have money to get in the kingdom it's easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle and they were astonished and they're like they're like what what and then he clarified it next verse he said for those that trust in riches people try to they even misquote scripture and they say well you know money is the root of all evil that is not true y'all with me or not what does scripture say come on y'all are scriptorians this place is full of bible toters what did the what did he say was it first timothy 6 10 or so what do you say for the for the what love of money is the root of all kinds of someone said well you know same thing no no it's not it's not even close you can love money and not have a dime there are people all over the place just longing and daydreaming about money if i could just win the lotto if i could just become friends with a billionaire if i could just if i could owe money money money they'd dream about money what i could do with money what i could have what i could buy what i could go and not have any of it if you can love it a lot and not have any then why wouldn't it be possible to have a bunch of it and not love it money is not the issue the love of it is the issue now you know brother kenneth and brother jesse talked about this some last night and anytime you get to talking about these things especially right now with what's going on a lot of people have lost their jobs a lot of people are hurting hurting hurting financially and people that don't understand are the enemy's always trying to twist things anyway they say well that just makes me sick you know talking about a big car and an airplane all that don't you know there's there's people hurting over here y'all got too quiet on that it's not how you think it doesn't work the way people imagine it does when i when i was at uh teaching at rhema bible training center at brother kenneth hagin's ministry i had the privilege teaching there for a number of years and i had gotten a car it was a used car but it was a yellow corvette and and i was enjoying it and every every day after class for a while i'd come out to to get in my car and leave and there was a student standing there by my fender by the car he'd smile and say hi i'd say hi and i'd get in the car and leave this happened i don't know a score of times he's there smiling hi i said hi he didn't ask for anything he didn't want anything and a year or so later we were having an international banquet and he was there and i didn't know it but he was from another country and he came over he said brother keith i know you probably wondered sometimes while i was standing out there by your car i said well it crossed my mind but i wouldn't i didn't think it was a problem and he said well he said you understand we were not allowed to work as foreign students and he said man i'm believing for every meal and i'm believing for my rent and especially believing for my next tuition and he said the lord quickened me because i was teaching on some of these things in class and he said i'd go out there and i just put my hand on that car and i said now god if you give brother keith a yellow corvette he can live without a yellow corvette yes sir that's right huh but if you give him that i know you'll give me my rent money you see that that's the opposite of how people think and people want to try to say well the more beat down we are and the less we talk about how god's blessed us because we don't want to offend anybody and we don't want to you no you don't want to inspire anybody [Music] now if you just brag on yourself that's another thing and that's no good that just intimidates but if you got it the right way it's not just what you got it's how you got it if you got it the right way if the lord added it to you do not be ashamed of it do not cover it up do not hide it don't brag on yourself but do tell what the lord did for you because others will be inspired it's not the bleakness and the subsistence that leads men to repentance it's when they see the goodness of god it inspires them can you see me having that car didn't hurt his faith he was using it as a contrast he was saying now god i know he don't have to have this car but if you but he heard how the lord gave it to me lord if you will give him that car i know you will give me my tuition money and that's what romans 8 says if god spared not his own son but delivered him up for us all how shall he not with him also freely give us all things i mean if the father was ever going to withhold something and say hold on hold on that's too much that's just too much it would have been jesus and if he will give you jesus everything else is small potatoes is that right i don't care the biggest house biggest car if god didn't spare to give you him how shall he not with him also freely give us all thanks oh glory to god i'm enjoying myself glory to god glory to god uh look with me please um in second chronicles second chronicles the 14th chapter we we saw this on previous sessions about how the psalmist said some trust in chariots and some in horses but we will remember the name of the lord our god they are brought down and fallen but we are risen and stand upright now a horse and a chariot was the latest greatest in warfare weaponry especially metal chariot it was a killing machine i don't know if you've ever done any study on it but they actually attached blades to the spokes especially when they when they were able to develop what they called you know the bible calls iron chariots metal chariots that you couldn't just hit with a sword or a spear and break it and they would put big strong horses in it and they would just mow people down they would just run over them and mow them and if you got tried to get close to it it would cut you up these razor sharp blades and so it would be the equivalent uh today of a fighter jet a tank it's the thing that you would say this is how we're going to win this war and yet the bible said uh some trust in that but not us y'all awake we will remember the name of the lord our god listen to psalm 33 16 and 22 psalm 33 16 through 22 it says there is no king saved by the multitude of and host a mighty man is not delivered by much strength a horse is a vain thing for safety neither shall he deliver any by his great strength behold the eye of the lord is upon them that fear him upon them that hope in his name to deliver their soul from death to keep them alive in famine our soul waits for the lord he is our help and our shield our heart shall rejoice in him because we've trusted in his holy name let your mercy o lord be upon us according as we hope in you almost everybody in church will agree when you're talking about this oh that's right that's right trust in the lord trust in the i i've been a student of uh longevity because i was able to minister in healing school for a long time and still minister healing of course but um i when i'd see a case i i would uh make a note of it or keep a scrapbook of it and i saw one of the oldest living men in the states and this he's already passed on now this is a few years ago he was 113 i think and they asked him his secret to longevity and it was funny because they said brother what is your secret he said trust god just trust god he said and i've always smoked prince albert tobacco [Laughter] okay [Laughter] it wasn't his perfect diet not to say diet's not a factor it is but you can have a perfect diet and exercise regimen and die at 30. it's it's just one component and again what are you trusting in if you say well i'm going to live a long time why well i'll really watch what i eat then you probably won't live a long time not to say you shouldn't watch what you eat but you shouldn't rely oh come on can you see this or not you shouldn't rely well i exercise every day that's wonderful more people should it's good it's a good thing but don't say that's what's going to get me across the line because then you're taking the glory to yourself because you're the one that you know keeping up with the diet and you're the one doing it come on can you see how subtle it is you can do everything you know to do and unless the lord builds a house they labor in vain unless the lord keeps the city the watchman wakes up for nothing is it true or not well um go with me to second chronicles is where we were headed second chronicles and the uh the 14th chapter and the eighth verse second chronicles 14 8. can y'all listen fast because i got a ways to go if you don't get it the first time or if i say it too fast then i stop and go around again because that takes more time so second chronicles 14 8 are you there it said asa had an army of men king asa that bear targets and spears out of judah 300 000 and out of benjamin keep going that bear shields and drew beau's 204 score thousand uh these were mighty men of valor so you know around a half million uh troops keep going there came out against them zara the ethiopian with a host of a thousand thousand that's a million and 300 what oh brother they didn't have the chair you know uh god's people didn't have the chariots at this time not like that 300 of these bad boys yes sir and a million foot soldiers this is not looking good keep reading then asa went out against him and they set the battle in a ray in the valley of zephatha at marisha keep going asa cried to the lord is god and he said lord it's nothing with you to help whether with many or with them that have no power don't say i have to have this flow of business to break even i have to have this many people attend the service to meet to be [Music] then that means they are your source it's a subtle thing with the right customer you can make the year with two customers yes that's true you don't believe that it's the truth god can do it whether with many or with few 10 000 or 2. [Music] can he or not get your eyes off the numbers get your eyes up i you know you got to watch about what you say well i have to sell x amount just to meet the bills said who said who i've got to meet this quota just to break even hush your mouth quit it stop it talk like this when you see no way to meet your bills and and and get things done when you see no way no way and you've been shut down for months what do you say here's how it starts lord quit talking to anybody else come on help me out lord lord it's nothing with you to help me to help me whether with many keep reading keep reading help us o lord our god for we why why because we rest i'm resting on you i'm dependent on you i'm not counting on the next stimulus package may happen may not happen i'm i'm not counting on who gets elected may happen i'm not counting i'm not counting on i'm not counting on any man to save me he said help us oh lord we're resting on you and in your name we're going against this multitude o lord you are our god whoo let not man prevail against you see make it a make it a god versus them deal not me versus them i don't know if i can handle them then you better do some tag tag god god attack let me tag you get in [Music] tag god and then step back didn't he say the lord would fight our battles for us yes but now there's a big if goes with that if you're looking to him if you're dependent on him if you keep talking about what we don't have and what we can't do then where's your eyes on yourself i don't have this i can't do this this is too much we just don't there's just no way there's just no way if you say so but you could say something else you can say lord tag me tag me would you get in here because you can do it i'm counting on somebody say i'm counting on you i'm relying on you i'm trusting on you you lord you only are my source my rock my refuge i trust in you i rely on you amen not not just words but my heart my my being is resting on him he is who and what i'm counting on to make it through nobody else and keep reading what happened so the lord said i got you. and he smoked the ethiopians before asa and before lord before judah and the ethiopians fled and asa and the people that were with him pursued them to jerar and the ethiopians were overthrown and they could not recover themselves they couldn't get over it they were destroyed before the lord and before his host and they carried away very much spoil they they didn't get defeated they didn't get killed they didn't get you know dispossessed and they got rich [Music] that is a win-win [Music] that's a win-win i wish the story ended there because that is a good high note to end on but i got to keep going ii chronicles 16. just uh just a couple of chapters later ii chronicle 16. just a second i'll get there i've been talking ah it said verse one in the sixth and thirtieth year of asa baasha king of israel came up against judah and built rhema to the intent he might let none go in or go out or come in to ace the king of judah and then asa uh brought out silver and gold out of the treasures of the house of the lord and of the king's house and sent to ben haddad king of syria that dwelt in damascus saying you know there's a league between me and you break your league with the king of israel and so ben haddad did it took all his money all the money out of the house of god and uh baasha heard it and left and so uh verse 7 this looks like a successful response but it is not and god is not pleased with it verse 7 at that time hananiah the seer came to ace the king of judah and said to him because you have relied on the king of syria and not relied on the lord your god therefore is the host of the king of syria escaped out of your hand see god was planning on giving him two big victories the one that he was immediately facing but then the one over syria who was really his enemy that he invited to come saving and took money out of the lord's house to pay him we're not the ethiopians and the lubens a huge host and very many chariots and horsemen yet because you did rely on the lord he delivered them into your hands for it's a verse we quote a lot of times the eyes of the lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth to show himself strong in the behalf of those whose heart is perfect toward him this word perfect means wholehearted and you look at the context it's in the sense of completely relying on god god is right this moment scanning the planet [Music] scanning he never changes what's he looking for what's he he wants to manifest his power he wants to demonstrate his goodness and his faithfulness and his graciousness well what is the connection what's he looking for somebody whose heart will trust only only on him that will quit depending on somebody else to bail him out and actually trust him amen after our first session monday we got a report an hour i got a report an hour after the session a man sent word to mike that helps me and said uh i heard that i don't guess he was here he was somewhere else i'm looking around uh yeah yeah and uh he had had this big project he had been wanting to do and he'd been trying he didn't know why this one wouldn't help him and that one wouldn't help him and when he heard the message he thought i got to stop this i got to stop this and he repented right before the lord and he said lord forgive me for looking at them and thinking they ought to do this my eyes are on you and within an hour somebody called him and underwrote the whole project so we gonna send it that was monday that was monday first session before i could get back to the room from preaching it that that's why the lord has us talking about it faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of god you don't have to wait a long time and it doesn't take a long time for you to make an adjustment in your heart and say lord forgive me forgive me for looking at them and wanting something from them and pulling on them i'm stopping it now and you watch and see there will be miracles miracles miracles because the eyes of the lord are scanning already what what arrests his attention what causes him to go oh okay a heart that has stopped trusting man and is completely that word perfect can be translated whole or complete completely trusting god verse 10 asa didn't respond well to this prophecy he made him mad he put the prophet in prison because of it this doesn't end well verse 11 and in verse 12 asa in the 30th ninth year of his reign was diseased in his feet until his disease was exceeding great yet in his disease he what he sought not to the lord but to the physicians so what happened he didn't recover he slept with his fathers and died in the 140th year of his reign now here's where a lot of people have missed it they read something like that and they say well man i but don't go to the doctor don't go to the doctor that's not that wasn't a problem just like money's not the problem just like a horse and chick come on can you see this horse and cherry is not the problem one verse said you know the horse is prepared against the day of battle but safety is of the lord and i've heard people say well if we really had enough faith we would get rid of all our military and quit spending all these billions and give that to the poor yeah and you'll have another flag flying over you by the end of the week [Applause] and learning a new language not if you had enough faith no you don't understand it dear yeah that's that can amount to tempting god kind of like having coveted parties what's wrong with that well why didn't jesus throw himself off the pinnacle of the temple to prove his faith to demonstrate his faith what was his response he would not do it he would not jump off the pinnacle and what did he say it is written you shall not tempt the lord your god tempt him to what to kill you no tempt him to leave you on your own dumb self oh your own stupid own because if you jump off the temple without god splat huh you go to a coveted party and the lord didn't tell you any such thing to try to show off how much faith you got well we probably have a funeral for them got to be led by the spirit child of god and no he didn't say you couldn't go to the doctor thank god for good doctors especially enduring this season and what they're dealing with we've been praying and asking god to strengthen and help our doctors and our nurses we've been praying for our scientists and our researchers help them find the cause of this thing and the source of it and the treatment and should you be believing for these things yes you should and it wasn't a problem that he went to the doctor any more than he had soldiers what was the problem he started out great when he didn't have money and he didn't have a lot of stuff and he had no choice they trusted god and they saw miracles but then he got fat and rich and lazy and instead of trusting god next time something came up he just wrote a check because now he could and it displeased the lord and he didn't repent and change it he just got mad and threw the prophet in in jail and then sickness hit him and you know thank god for doctors but no doctor is the source of your healing i've heard people say i've had you know health professionals say well you know we appreciate prayer it can be an important psychological help to what we do uh uh you got it backwards what you're doing is a natural helps to the healing ministry of the lord you can be the best surgeon in the world and you can do amazing work but you didn't heal anybody you might you might have made incisions you might have removed the problem but when you're done it's when the healing needs to start happen come on can you see that unless the lord so yes you should pray for your doctors and your nurses but you don't you don't just say oh you're my healer whatever you say that's what we do you don't take any banker and say you're my provider if you say we can't do it we can't do it you don't take any lawyer you don't take any professional in any area and say you determine what i can and can't do you are the one who's going to fix me you are the one who's going to solve all my problems not one somebody say not one not one not one hallelujah are you all okay it's okay to use a horse but don't trust in the horse to save you it's okay to go to the doctor you know uh the prophet one time he said uh you know to the king he said create a a poultice and put it on him right there numerous you know luke was a doctor the problem is not the money or the doctor or the medicine or the procedure or any of that tell me what the problem is child ago what is what's the problem letting anybody be in the place of god of your source of your healing you i don't care what's available you ask the lord first should i do this you go to him first first go to genesis please still not napping we're doing good we're doing good genesis 14. this is an answer for those in serious financial difficulty the next few minutes it's already been but it's going to be even further tithing you just just say the word and boy [Applause] [Laughter] but anytime you see something that is so debated such a sore issue and sore spot with so many then you know something spiritual is going on here huh the enemy's trying to keep people out of it and away from it and get you in the ditch on one side or the other but tithing is not just a part of the law it was before the law it was during the law and it's after the law jesus said you should tithe matthew 23 23. especially if you look at the living bible and others he said yes you should tithe i'm quoting verbatim and if that's not good enough for you i don't know how to i don't if the head of the church says yes you should die and you say well i just don't know about that i can't help you but what people don't understand is you don't pay tithes like you're paying a bill you don't do it like you're keeping a law or an ordinance tithing one of the biggest parts of tithing is about acknowledging who your source is and a lot of times people will say when it comes to tithing i worked hard for that money well that's my money well then you don't believe the bible and you do believe you did it on your own tithing is about honor and it's about access honoring god as your source and giving him access to you and your things yeah quiet it got uh genesis 14 is the first time that i'm aware of that we see tithing in the bible and it was hundreds of years before any ordinance or word about tithing was given hundreds of years there was no ordinance there was no statute to tithe at this time that we're reading in genesis and the bible said you know that uh the enemy came and got abram's lot and his family and took them off and and abraham got his own servants and went after them and god gave them victory it sounds like that other deal they were outnumbered but god gave them the victory and they got all this stuff too you know that's that's the spiritual principle every time they won a big battle there was a lot of money came in still supposed to be that way today every time you win a big battle then a bunch of money comes in and the bible said in genesis 14 18 melchizedek king of salem brought forth bread and wine and he was priest of the most high god and he blessed him and said blessed be abram of the most high god possessor of heaven and earth and he and blessed be the most high god which has delivered your enemies into your hand and he gave him tithes of all gave him tithes of all on the heels of him saying what god delivered your enemies into your hand amen if he had been proud he would have said well we had to fight this thing but no his response was an act he took a tenth off of everything and he gave it to melchizedek saying what that's an action that is speaking it is saying yes if god hadn't helped me we wouldn't even be alive right now yes god is the source of my victory god is the source of my success and he didn't just talk empty words he acted and demonstrated to show it with the tithe and if you do not tithe and you reject it and you don't do anything then your talk about god being your source is empty i know not everybody i'm not talking about tithing to a church or to an entity i'm talking about tithing to god he said the tithe is his but if you say no no it's mine then you don't see him as your source come on can you see that or not that's where the problem is and it's so clear the rest of it the king of saw the king of sodom said to abram well just give me the people and take the goods to yourself why because abram was in a position to make himself king and the king of sodom knew that he's like can't we just make a deal you know you just he was not in a position of power but abram said to the king of sodom come on do you have this marked in your bible do you have it y'all are too quiet what did abram say verse 22 he said to the king of sodom i have lift up my hand to the lord the most high god the possessor of heaven and earth i will not take from a thread to a shoelace i won't take anything that's yours why why why lest anybody say you're my source lest anybody say you the one that put me where i am you'll hear this sometimes people say well you know the ends justifies the means that is a lie that is not god with god the means the way to it is at least as important as the outcome the ends justify the means not true not right what's he saying how it happens is so important to god who gets used who's involved with it and we want everything to be done in such a way that god is seen he is noticed he is recognized and this when abraham did this he turned down millions of dollars he turned down millions of dollars when he did this what was his what was his deal what's he got against money he could feel i mean to risk his life and the lives of his people he could feel like man we we got a payday coming why what was the problem the optics what people saw what people thought what people heard he stood up he wanted it made crystal clear i got one source it was god that gave me this victory he was god that made me successful it was god that made me rich not you not them not anybody not anybody ever will it was him only only only only oh somebody say glory to god it was him only only i heard brother kenneth copeland say this i don't know decades ago it stuck with me etched in me he's talking about something he's believing for he didn't like the way it was coming so he said no forget that didn't get it then didn't get it for a while he said this he said if i can't get it with my faith i don't want it in my house [Applause] no matter how much your flesh wanted something is that the right way to be isn't that the same thing abraham said because if you got it with your faith what does that mean god god got it for you he did it he made it happen if i don't if i can't get it the way the lord wants me to have it i shouldn't want it if i can if i can't get it the way that he's seen and glorified i should care more about that than the thing itself don't you like that abraham said um now this this is strong i'm not taking a shoelace from you i mean no i ain't taking a string i ain't taking a button no why he could see it he could see it coming he could see it playing out yeah you know how abraham got so yeah king of sodom set him up set him up made him you don't want anybody to be able to say they built your church [Applause] they made your ministry a success including yourself stand on your feet everybody whoo glory to god oh somebody say glory to god glory to god glory to god glory to god lord come on just lift up your hands glory to god lord we worship you oh lord we praise you we give you glory we give you honor we worship you we praise you we glorify you listen to me just a moment here further close your eyes don't look at me don't look around you heard me talk about tell that testimony that happened monday that was a substantial thing and it happened in minutes after the service god's will is for that to happen many many many many many more times what that man did is he repented for looking to man and he put all his heart and trust in god and i mean in minutes things happened say it out loud with me father god forgive me forever looking to people relying on the arm of flesh trusting in man regardless of the form i reject that and i put my eyes only on you you alone are my savior you alone or my provider you alone are my healer my protector i trust in you i'm depending on you alone i'm relying on you [Applause] only thank you for showing yourself strong on my behalf get glory to yourself let everything in my life be seen and be done in such a way that you are the most seen the most exalted the most glorified because you are worthy worthy worthy now thank him for meeting your need thank him for underwriting that thing thank him glory glory glory glory glory glory glory glory glory glory glory [Applause] hallelujah somebody say glory to god it let me say again what we said monday it is this is so liberating when you actually do it when you become completely dependent on god alone you are no longer dependent on anybody else it sets you free makes you nicer to be around too because you're not pulling on anybody you're not pulling on anybody you're not pressuring anybody you're not trying to get somebody to do something for you don't need to glory to god hallelujah you
