premeditated it was tell me so first i went to my alarm awful i said it for one minute and uh then i you know answered yeah your alarm yeah wow that is very impressive i i'm really good at it you know said uh you said he finally found someone to dance with oh it was just like a inside thing oh yeah but you can't do that nothing inside right you have to share it with the rest of the class it's not even honestly like it's not okay so he's been my best friend since i can since i can remember when man when we were younger don't even know where to like be get okay wow spit it out okay so believe it or not i went through sort of an awkward phase in high school i refuse to believe that it's shocking i know i wasn't always this confident and put together what gene would be so disappointed where is gene hopefully he left i was very shy that's what i'm trying to say and uh so the first there was the dance homecoming dance was the first dance of the year you know and there was no way i was gonna ask anybody and uh he told me that it's better to go stag that way you're not tied down to anyone oh okay all right so he didn't ask anyone either and he picked me up and we went to the dance him and i and um standing there with me and we're making fun of all the couples and we're talking about how much better off we are and um i mean this is over like he never had trouble with girls ever he could have been with anybody and i'd i'd watch these girls come up to him at the dance they'd sort of talk for a second and then they would leave i i couldn't hear what they were saying over the music and it kept happening like this tap on the shoulder or whisper something in his ear and he'd sort of shake his head and then they would walk away and then he'd lean over to me and say i can't even find anybody to dance with yeah me too he didn't want to leave you alone we finally found someone to dance that's funny yeah i thought so good friend hmm you can stay a wallflower forever though right and some girl came along and turned you into the best man i see before me wow yeah no surprisingly enough eventually there was a girl first love and the the whole deal god is that first i'm just the best hmm it's funny she's here actually you're your ex of course she is well where which one show me you see the one in the white dress yeah wait wait what your best friend married your ex-girlfriend girlfriend okay yeah wait i know it sounds like it would be weird but it's actually really weird yeah i i i i i have so many questions i bet like when did they start dating like how long after you guys broke up and how long were you together sorry no it's okay um okay wait so um six months ago right away and five years ah this is insane yeah i don't know it's just like one of those things just sort of happened for them i guess like right after us i mean probably before the end of us but it's uh fine how are you okay ah i mean are you okay yeah yeah i mean because this is just it's wow this is weird and i feel like you you could let yourself just not feel okay about it just for a minute at their wedding yeah no i know sorry i'm i i'm invested i'm just too invested no no i know it's weird it's weird say it okay you wanna know what the weirdest part is yeah i really do please tell me okay we had conversations about tonight her and i about your wedding yeah but like really specific like what it would look like and what she'd be wearing and the music and this is it i mean that's the dress so i'm sitting here and for like a split second i'll forget that this isn't mine and that she isn't and that this is just like our amazing wedding and then i'll see them dancing together and i'm like who the [ __ ] is that guy your best friend they do make a really cute couple though right yeah like so adorable i mean i don't see you guys together at all really yeah no i mean wow what do i know but i'm sure she's very nice i'm sure she's lovely but i just i i see you with some you know just something quicker quicker i think so okay yeah maybe is that karen sending you an sos no it's my boyfriend i forgot to text him back oh cool oh god paul no what no i don't have a boyfriend oh my god wow your face oh god like the life just drained out of you no that's it's i just thought it would be funny it is i guess no that is no no it should have been funny i thought it would be just fine it's not funny i thought it would just be so glaringly obvious that i do not have a boyfriend no i don't know there's no um can you imagine me actually saying that yes no no yeah that definitely happens who are these people it's true you're sitting in your you're you're you're talking with someone and you're hitting it off are we hitting it off um is that is that what's happening yes oh yeah okay it's good to know this is hitting it off i've never actually said that out loud before so hitting it off by the way just means that we are enjoying each other's company hmm you know we have the same um we get along exactly it does not mean that we're flirting no no flirting is it that's a whole that's a whole when i'm when i'm flirting it's much more charming there's a great deal of natural charm that happens totally there's more touching oh okay i read that that when people are flirting they touch each other huh for no reason there's so there's unnecessary touching we haven't done any
