how's it going everybody too spooky here and now that i'm officially caught up it's finally time for us to count down 101 facts about jojo's bizarre adventure this video or any jojo's content for that matter has been suggested to me ever since i started making anime related videos so needless to say this one has been a long time coming when it comes to what information to expect in this video we'll be covering everything that has to do with obscure or generally unknown information about the series its creator its characters or its history and production so with a warning about my bad pronunciation and potential spoilers for all parts let's jump right into this bizarre adventure number one jojo's bizarre adventure officially began on january 1st of 1987 and is still currently ongoing to this day written and illustrated by hirohiko araki the series was originally serialized and weekly shonen jump until 2004 with the ending of part six where the series then switched over to the seinen publication ultra jump where it now releases chapters on a monthly basis the latest part jojo's bizarre adventure part 8 jojolian recently concluded on august 19th of 2021 and part 9 subsequently titled jojo lands was confirmed to be directly following the events of jo jolien the following month jojo lands does not currently have an official release date but it is likely to begin publication this year jojo's has since become one of the best selling manga series of all time selling over 120 million volumes as of 2021 with a current total of 131 volumes released making it the ninth longest running manga of all time number two araki was born on june 7th of 1960 and grew up in sendai japan with his parents and younger twin sisters araki would go on to say that his sister's general annoyances would be why he spent so much time reading manga in the first place naming i2 makoto as the one that impacted him the most and his father's various art books would be what inspired him the most to start trying to make his own manga and because his parents weren't exactly the most supportive of him being a mangaka he would go on to write manga behind their backs he would eventually debut under the name toshiyuki araki in 1980 with his first work poker under arms he would then go on to get his first serialization in 1983 with shock bt and then again in 1984 with bao which would set the groundworks for the rest of his manga career before the release of jojo's bizarre adventure number three while jojo's rose gradually to its eventual massive popularity it wouldn't get a complete anime adaptation until its 25th anniversary in 2012. where it was announced david productions were going to be doing a complete adaptation of parts 1 and 2 which would begin airing later that year in october since then parts 3 through 6 have also been animated over the years with part 6 currently airing as this video is released number 4 while it may have taken 25 years for the series to get a complete anime adaptation it wasn't the first time jojo's was adapted into an anime back in 1993 produced by apppp the later half of part 3 was adapted and released straight to vhs and laserdisc consisting of 6 episodes total then 7 years later in the year 2000 the first part of part three was released to vhs and dvd mainly because it was confusing for most viewers to enter stardust crusaders at the end not knowing anything about how they got there but the reason they started with the later half was because the original idea was to animate the most exciting parts of the arc because that was all they were able to do at the time the entire ova would eventually be dubbed and released in the united states on dvd in 2003 however any distribution of the ova in the u.s or japan would be completely stopped after controversy struck involving one scene depicting dio reading the quran this ova honestly deserves its own video at some point because there is a lot to cover so we'll talk more about it at a later date number 5. including the original part 3 ova there was also one other time jojo's was adapted into an anime which would be on the 20th anniversary of the series in 2007 produced once again by apppp a movie adaptation of part 1 was given a limited theatrical release although there remains one problem this movie was never released on any home media or broadcasted again anywhere making it lost media at the time of making this video some footage from the film has since been recovered but the majority of the film is still completely lost there are various rumors as to why it hasn't been released but the definitive reason for its absence is still unknown number six in 1997 araki also began a spin-off one-shot series called the spoke kishibe rohan which follows the titular character in an episodic format the series was originally meant to be completely original and unrelated to jojo's but araki found it way too tempting to use rohan for the series so far eight chapters have been released over the years with a ninth chapter recently announced to be on the horizon additionally in 2017 david productions adapted four of the chapters into an ova number seven jojo's has also received multiple video games based on the series over the decades not counting any mobile games they are as follows the very first simply titled jojo's bizarre adventure released in 1993 which was a super famicom role playing game based on part three the second also titled jojo's bizarre adventure released in 1998 this time debuting in arcades later being ported to the playstation and dreamcast with hd ports coming much later for the playstation 3 and xbox 360. this title was a 2d fighting game in a similar style to darkstalkers and developed by capcom it features characters exclusively from part 3 and it would go on to be one of the more popular jojo's video games with a dedicated fan base to this very day the third titled jojo's bizarre adventure released in 2002 for the playstation 2 and was a single player action adventure game based on part 5. the fourth titled jojo's bizarre adventure phantom blood released in 2006 for the playstation 2 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the series it was an action beat-em-up game based on part 1 as evident by the title the fifth titled jojo's bizarre adventure all-star battle was released in 2013 and worldwide in 2014 for the playstation 3. it was a fighting game that featured playable characters from all eight parts of the series the sixth titled jojo's bizarre adventure eyes of heaven was released in 2015 and worldwide in 2016 for playstation 3 and 4. it was a fighting game much like the previous entry even using the same engine and once again featured playable characters from all 8 parts of the series although this time featuring many more playable characters overall then the 7th and currently latest game was titled jojo's bizarre adventure last survivor which was released in 2019 for arcades it was a multiplayer battle royale game featuring playable characters from parts 3 4 and 5. outside of these jojo's characters have also appeared in one way or another in each of the shonen jump crossover games i actually already have an entire video focusing on a retrospective of the shonen jump crossover games so click the card in the top right hand corner of the screen if you want to learn more number eight jojo's has also received two live-action adaptations the first was a live-action adaptation of part four's first arc directed by takashi mike apparently producer takashi hirano had been trying to get a jojo's live action made for over 10 years and acquired the film rights from araki after five wanting to make an adaptation of part four first because it was one of the most popular parts and felt it would be the best place to start for long time fans and newer viewers it was released in 2017 to mixed reviews although plans were made for multiple sequels its subpar response halted any plans to make more the second live action adaptation is actually of the spoke kishibe rohan in the form of an episodic tv series adapting the various one-off chapters from the manga the first series of episodes aired in 2020 with a second season airing at the end of 2021 number nine araki has had various collaborations over the years which we'll be getting into over the next few facts but to start with one of the craziest jojo's has been featured at the louvre in france which is the most popular art and historic museum in the world throughout 2009 they had an event called the louvre invites the comics and one of the artists featured was of course araki and he even created an entire one-shot called rohan at the louvre to commemorate the event number 10 considering jojo's extremely unique style with all the poses and its impact on fashion for that matter jojo's has also collaborated with the likes of umo men's fashion magazine the fashion brand lumine and even gucci with a one shot featuring jolene called jolene fly high with gucci and another with rohan once again called rohan kishibe goes to gucci to commemorate both collaborations number 11. araki's various collaborations continue as he's also collaborated with the popular scientific journal cell which regularly publishes various scientific research papers from various medical researchers araki was chosen for the collaboration at the request of dr mitsutoshi saito and dr hiroshi ageta who were both part of the scientific team that helped identify a protein named scrapper which will help in research to prevent alzheimer's disease and strokes on that cover of the magazine araki depicts scrapper as a humanoid stand-like creature punching blue heart-shaped ubiquitin proteins onto rim proteins number 12 there have also been multiple light novels based on the series the first titled jojo's bizarre adventure written by mayuri sekijima and hiroshi yamaguchi it tells two unique storylines within the events of part three the second titled jiojo's bizarre adventure 2 golden heart golden ring written by mia shotaro and gichi otsuka which tells a unique origin story for part 5. the third titled jojo's bizarre adventure fourth another day written by otsuichi it is intended to be a sequel story for part four the next three were part of the versus jojo's collaboration to celebrate the series 25th anniversary by getting three popular authors to create collaborative stories based on the series purple haze feedback was written by kohei kidono and tells the story of fugo six months after the ending of part five jojo's bizarre adventure over heaven was written by nishiyo aishin and was meant to be the transcript for dio's diary that was shown in part 6. and finally george joestar was written by otaro maijo and it tells the story of george jostar meeting and marrying lisa lisa along with an original story about joji jo star living in a world that has been reset multiple times in a similar fashion to made in heaven araki has created unique art for each of the light novels and has supported each of their releases number 13. there have also been three official jojo's escape room collaborations with the tokyo company scrap the first was called escape from jojo's bazaar amusement park which took place in morio having you solve clues towards finding and capturing kira in a part 4 setting while the second was called jojo's bizarre escape the hotel taking place during part 3 with the crusaders you stop at a hotel where you get trapped within by the owner deja maker who tells you that if you can't escape within an hour his stand will erase you without a trace and finally the third was called escape from jojo's bizarre museum taking place during part 5 team bushidati wakes up to find themselves trapped in a museum with their stands stuck behind glass displays that will turn into real statues after 60 minutes subsequently killing them if they don't find a way to get them out number 14. if it's not already blatantly obvious many of the characters and stands in the series are influenced by various musical artists albums or songs because of this when it comes to localizations and various releases of jojo's related material names have to be changed to avoid copyright one of the more infamous examples being killer queen renamed deadly queen just doesn't have the same ring to it number 15. the name jojo was actually conceived at a denny's where araki and his first editor ryosuke kabashima were brainstorming ideas before the start of the series the two of them agreed on the name jonathan for the first protagonist however araki was adamant about him having matching initials similar to steven spielberg abbreviated ss so they eventually came up with jonathan joestar or jojo for short number 16 jojo's was originally meant to be a trilogy as towards the end of part one araki decided that he wanted the final events to take place in present-day japan for part 3 featuring a japanese protagonist that time around however not wanting to enter the tournament genre that was popular in the magazine at the time he opted not to explore that possibility in part two and instead wait until he could give his characters a certain destination or goal which he took inspiration for in part three with around the world in 80 days he felt the three-part story would be perfect to explore dio's defeat through an epic chain of events and lifetimes but due to the popularity of the series really taking off during part 3 he opted to continue it number 17. joe thoreau was featured in the shonen jump crossover game famicom jump 2 which we briefly touched upon that earlier but a little known fact about this would be that he was also featured in the animated commercial advertising the game which would technically be the first time jojo's was ever animated number 18 when it came to the conception of stanz as a whole there were quite a few factors and inspirations that brought it all together the initial inspiration came from araki's fascination with spiritualism and yokai folklore as he was particularly interested in the shinto religion's idea of an otherworldly being protecting you later finding more inspiration about guardian spirits through the manga ushido no hiyakitaro opting to take the idea of various psychic powers and turn them into a spirit-like entity summoned by the main character that could interact with the world around it but be invisible to the average onlooker giving him the additional freedom of designing them however he wished stans were a hard sell to his editor at the time mainly because araki didn't quite know how to explain the idea with words but after coming up with a few concepts he was given the go-ahead and it changed the flow of the story completely from then on number 19. after part 3 and the introduction of stans araki would go on to say that for every future part of jojo's he would generally always create and design a character's stand first and then afterward create the character associated with it in both personality and appearance to give the two a perfect harmony number 20 introduced in part three was the famous joestar birthmark around the shoulder or neck area of any joestar descendants this obviously wasn't present in parts 1 or 2 because araki didn't have the idea yet but they were added in the anime and in any callback references within the manga or with updated art of parts 1 or 2. although there is one individual biologically unrelated to the joe stars who ended up with this birthmark completely by mistake which was lisa lisa as it can be seen on her neck with an art made specifically for the jojo art expedition in 2012 number 21 the original concept of jonathan dio and the overall idea for part one came from araki's love for movies with actors like arnold schwarzenegger and sylvester stallone at the time muscle men were very popular in manga during this period and seeing those real life actors completely covered in muscles made him think who actually was the strongest person in the world this question led to themes such as immortality justice and things that humans innately seek which all led to the creation of part one number 22 after completing part 3 muscle man within shonen manga was beginning to fall out of style and iraqi was beginning to lose inspiration for wanting to draw them anyway so he took this opportunity with part 4 to focus more on bringing his love for fashion to life which as we talked about earlier through his collaborations was no doubt an iconic shift in his style when it comes to designing the clothing present in jojo's araki claims that he focuses on everyday fashion along with cartoonish bizarre clothing that would be impractical in real life although as we also know he does find inspiration through some real-life fashion as well number 23 when it comes to araki's idea of good and evil he explained that as he progressed as a mangaka the line between good and evil has become much harder to differentiate as for instance in part one jonathan was meant to represent purity and the goodness of humanity while dio was meant to be his exact opposite pure evil and darkness but much later on in his career while developing the main antagonist for steel ball run funny valentine the 23rd president of the united states he wanted to explore deeper motivations for why he would do such evil deeds notably making him extremely patriotic and willing to sacrifice others for the greater cause of his nation's prosperity which araki felt many readers could understand as a motivation and to some extent even sympathize with but even so because his acts are still somewhat cowardly he felt it would still illustrate his inability to ever be a protagonist himself additionally araki came up with the idea for a president who participates in the fighting themself after watching the film independence day number 24 jojo's is also one of the flagship series for strong female characters within shonen manga as araki has always had a big interest in strong intimidating women who would join in on the battles but at the time of jojo's initial serialization that was almost unheard of within the shonen genre lisa lisa would be a rocky's first attempt to bring forth this type of female character into the series and while still revolutionary for its time araki was held back by himself and his editor from doing more admitting he would have liked to take her character much further than he did fast forwarding to the beginning of part 6 hideto azuma araki's editor at the time has gone on record to say that at the time of serialization he tried to convince araki to make jolene a male character instead because a female protagonist wouldn't work for a magazine meant for young boys but araki insisted and wouldn't budge going on to say the fact that readers wouldn't accept a female protagonist was precisely the reason jolene had to be a woman number 25 in addition to that last fact according to hiroshi sekiya araki's editor at the time when starting part 5 araki wanted to make the protagonist female at that time as well but he convinced araki not to because he thought it would be a tough sell to readers at the time araki obviously obliged but took this desire for a female protagonist with him to create jolene in part 6 regardless of what his editors or readers would think that said with giorno he still didn't necessarily give in to this demand completely because with jorno stand gold experience it's noted to have the ability to give life which is allegedly a reference to the fact that women literally create life and according to his editor once again araki purposely made giorno somewhat androgynous because he played around with the idea of revealing giorno to actually be a woman pretending to be a man much later in part 5 but he decided not to go through with the idea number 26 jojo's has always been inspired by the horror genre since the very beginning i mean dio is a vampire it doesn't get more obvious than that but you can also easily find this horror inspiration through much of the imagery and body horror that araki incorporates although one character araki wanted to truly embody the horror genre would be enya the hag basing her off the old lady witch-like characters that are prevalent in many horror films and making her entire encounter with the crusaders reminiscent of an old horror film beat by beat additionally making her son jay geil visually reminiscent of a merman with his stand hanged man based off of a mummy number 27 while we already discussed that jojo's moved to ultra jump earlier it should also be noted that part 7 originally started in weekly shonen jump for the first 23 chapters and back then it wasn't officially part of jojo's bizarre adventure and was only called steel ball run but was obviously filled with tons of references to jojo's as a whole which confused many fans however once it finally moved over to ultra jump it was revealed that steel ball run was indeed part 7 taking place in an alternate universe from the rest of the series number 28 jyotaro is easily the most popular jojo or at the very least the most recognizable when it comes to jotado's conception he was modeled after clint eastwood which is why jotado might come off as a much rougher character compared to other shonen protagonists at the time clint eastwood fit araki's ideal for a hero perfectly which he defines as a loner who does not do the right thing for attention but rather goes unappreciated as a symbol of justice against evil jotado's most popular pose and catchphrases were also modeled after eastwood as the pointing pose is supposed to directly reference eastwood pointing a 44 magnum whereas his catchphrases like good grief are supposed to be similar to something eastwood would say in one of his movies after jotaro became the synonym for the entire series at large araki has stated that he's modeled every future jojo protagonist after jotaro's appearance to start before differentiating them from there additionally the rest of the joestar party in part 3 were each specifically modeled in appearance and personality to not overlap with jyotiro's characteristics for example kakuwin worked as a direct foil to jyotido in basically every aspect and joseph being a former protagonist himself was aged significantly and designed to look like a side character to make sure that readers knew he was not the main character any longer number 29 when it comes to the town of morio and general inspiration for part 4 as a whole araki based it off of his hometown of sendai specifically a residential area nearby that was under development he came up with the idea by seeing all these identical houses and all these families inside appearing to have such a happy time but behind closed doors you can never really know what darkness is lurking there could be someone like kira next door and you'd have no idea overall making araki want to illustrate the humorous spooky and bizarre events that could occur in everyday life as we know it number 30. while araki's first editor ryosuke kabashima is no doubt responsible for helping craft many of the series signature feats by being there from the beginning he's also the reason jojo's ever made it past part one as jojo's wasn't very popular within shonen jump during its initial serialization mainly because it was seen as just another fighting manga but with a foreign protagonist which was considered taboo for manga at the time shonen jump have always been brutal with their policies on axing manga that aren't very popular with readers much before their intended conclusions ryosuke apparently had to repeatedly ask the editor-in-chief at the time not to ask jojo's and luckily they didn't even though they got close and for that reason we have ryosuke to thank for having jojo's to this very day number 31 when it came to caesar's introduction at the time of part two's serialization multiple fans complained to araki about his mere existence referencing a line that baron zepply caesar's grandfather had stated back in part one zepply claimed that he had never married nor had a family so caesar's sudden introduction made no sense based on that statement araki has admitted that this was a mistake and corrected it for future releases of part 1 along with an apology number 32 while writing part 5 araki listened to a lot of rap music too as he says bring out a rougher atmosphere for the manga as a whole one example of his favorites from that time period was snoop dogg's album doggy style which he thought was particularly scary this inspiration would later come back in part 8 as the stand doggy style was introduced in direct nod to the album's significance in the greater lore of part 5's conception number 33 araki has had multiple assistants over the years but the most well-known is no doubt keisanbe who you might know as the mangaka who wrote the popular series erased during his time in school sanbe came across a job listing in weekly shonen jump from iraqi requesting for new assistance while not particularly a fan of jojo's himself its wide variety of backgrounds and foreign settings enticed him to submit an application after applying twice sanbe was accepted into iraqis team around the time of part two's serialization and was eventually promoted to chief assistant he would go on to work for araki for a total of eight years leaving halfway through part five to pursue his own career as a manga artist with iraqi's blessing and faith in his ability number 34 that star-shaped thing on a bakio's head is actually just a hat that acts like a hairband number 35. in part 3 dio yelled at joseph that his stand hermit purple was in fact the weakest stand however in part 6 during a flashback that takes place before the events of part 3 dio discusses the weakest stand with pucci stating it to be survivor this can likely be explained by the fact that dio likes to talk mad [ __ ] and hermit purple was actually not the weakest stand number 36 when developing the stands for part 4 in particular araki wanted to focus on illustrating the themes of mental and emotional weakness and the characters who used these stands were simply consumed by their own flaws and imperfections that said araki ended up receiving a lot of complaints from readers and even his editors claiming that the enemy stands in part 4 were weak as a result this probably explains why the stands in part 6 are bad bit crazy number 37 although it was never officially shown within the context of the story it's canon that the stone masks from part 1 and 2 are capable of bringing out stands number 38. jean-pierre pulneriff's name is based off of iraqi's three favorite french celebrities the actors elaine delon and john paul belmondo and the musician michelle pulneriff number 39. mista can fire his stand sex pistols from any gun it's not exclusive to his personal revolver though because of his accuracy in general he doesn't have to use a machine gun or anything like that the reason he likely wouldn't use any other gun is simply because he would have to load up a magazine with his bullets and if he had four bullets in the cartridge he wouldn't be able to fire it because of his tetraphobia number 40. when it comes to johnny joestar being a disabled protagonist he wasn't originally intended to be disabled according to iraqi however after researching and brainstorming various ways for his protagonist to overcome hardship he came up with the idea because it would truly illustrate a protagonist who would grow both physically and mentally in a situation where he would be forced to rely on other people and his horse for that matter regardless johnny has become a big symbol for disabled representation in manga number 41 the entirety of part five takes place within a total of eight days number 42 vanilla isis stand is named cream which was revealed in the art book jojo 6251 additionally cream is the first stand in the series to be named after a band and the name is meant to be a pun vanilla ice cream number 43 adding on to the last fact a bit the art book jojo 6251 got its name because there were 6251 pages of jojo's in existence when the book was announced and in part 8 the experimental drug created by the rock humans at the hospital was named lokakaka 6251 in reference to this art book number 44 one of the most popular jojo theories is that the frog phone used by dopio in part 5 is actually the distant descendant of the frog that baron zepply punched in part one you thought jojo's was about the joestar bloodline and their hijanks through the years it's actually been about the toadstar bloodline this entire time number 45 although it's been over 20 years since he made this list when asked about his top 10 favorite characters in the series araki listed them as follows number 10 was dio number nine was shigechi number eight was jyotiro number seven was mista number six was joseph number five was giorno number four was diavolo and dopio number three was bushirati number two was kira and number one was josuke if he was asked to give his list today i imagine it would be significantly different number 46 during part three's initial serialization the tarot cards presented were based on the real-life tarot deck tarot of marseilles they were later updated with original art in the volume releases number 47 originally josuke's stand soft and wet was going to have the ability to attach screws to various objects and people however this concept was later given to joshu's stand nut king call instead number 48 the turtle featured in part 5 is named coco jumbo however it was only given a name much later in the art book jojo a gogo and on its stand page it even mentions how nobody bothered to name the turtle itself within the story number 49 while josuke's stand crazy diamond got its namesake from the pink floyd song shine on you crazy diamond within the context of the story itself we learned that jyotido is the one who named crazy diamond which was revealed at the end of chapter 8 within the manga number 50. on the cover of the jojonium release of volume 2 from part 1 araki redrew baron zepply in his modern style something interesting to note about this would be that the cane zepply is holding has a steel ball as the handle which is a reference to his alternate universe counterpart gyroseppley from part 7. number 51 kira was originally meant to have a backstory within part 4 but araki ended up having to leave it out going on to say his mother was in essence abusing him but his father would always turn a blind eye to it all the trouble kira's father goes through to protect kira in the story is because he felt bad for what he did that said if i included this whole backstory in the manga kira would likely end up being a very sad villain and people wouldn't see him as the enemy i couldn't include this or rather maybe i wasn't able to because this was a magazine for a younger audience number 52 the three stands that have appeared the most within the story are silver chariot with 367 panels sex pistols with 385 panels and finally star platinum with 398 panels number 53 when initially mapping out the plans for part 3's serialization araki was in a room with multiple editors and shonen jump staff where he pitched the idea for part 3 as a modern retelling of dracula but on a much grander scale apparently only one person in the room liked the idea number 54. araki confirmed in an interview that jotaro's hat is in fact a part of his head number 55 as far as the various protagonists go we only know the birthdays of the following jonathan was born on april 4th of 1868 joseph was born september 27th of 1920 giorno was born on april 16th of 1985 and finally josuke was created on august 19th of 2011. the rest of the protagonists only have the year of birth known rather than an exact date number 56 trish from part 5 is based off of the american model trish goff in both name and appearance this inspiration came from the fact that araki is simply a big fan of the model and even changed her birthday from april 19th to june 8th to match goff's actual birthday number 57 in part six a new stand was introduced called earth wind and fire however araki failed to remember that he'd actually already used this stan name before as it was the name of mikitaka hazakura's stand from part 4. this was fixed in the volume releases changing the stan's name to planet waves number 58 the character anne originally didn't have a name within the manga but was given the name an within the anime because producer hisataka kasuma felt it was odd for a character spending so much time with the main group to not have a name araki has also additionally gone on to say that he wanted to make her a member of the group but had trouble including her in life or death situations had he decided to add her to the group officially he would have had her develop a stand along the way number 59 funny valentine can play the mandolin with his feet whoa that's a genuinely shocking fact number 60 fist of the north star was one of the bigger influences for jojo's early on in particular with the use of gore and the beefcake muscle bodies these days the mangaka behind fist of the north star tetsu ohara and iraqi are actually friends and dine together quite often number 61. emporio's inspiration as a character came from a new story araki heard about a child being born within a women's prison without the prison's knowledge and thought it would be an interesting concept to include in part six additionally the reason he is wearing a baseball uniform is because the chicago cubs won a regional game the year emporio was introduced number 62 when it comes to the rabbit-like design of dirty deeds done dirt cheap araki explained that when it comes to both his characters and their stands he wants them to have a recognizable silhouette so compared to the other stands of the former main antagonists he wanted this one to stand out quite differently from those that came before opting to give it long ears as a result number 63 when it came to creating such a grand scale horse race in steel ball run araki did three separate research trips through america to get a grasp on the country's vastness one trip from the west coast to the deserts one from the great plains to the mississippi river and chicago and then one to new york which would be the finish line he was specifically surprised by the pure unending scale of the midwestern united states stating how it would be almost impossible to escape an enemy from afar because there is simply no way to get away from them in that open wasteland had he not gone to experience it himself he said he wouldn't have been able to do it such justice within the manga he also went on to say the midwest felt empty and lifeless and made me wonder if there was any fun to living there at all you want to guess who lives in the middle of the midwest number 64. in addition to the last fact iraqi has obviously taken multiple trips to different parts of the world for personal vacations along with traveling specifically to research other locations for his manga a notable example includes venice italy for research relating to part 5. but when asked what the worst location he's been to was iraqi was quick to answer egypt as the worst place he's ever visited which he also cited as one of the reasons dio is holed up in egypt for the final battle of part three because where else would evil incarnate be aside from the most evil place on earth obviously he's joking on egypt actually being evil but his bad experience in egypt no doubt was illustrated within the manga number 65 the orangutan from part 3 is named forever his name wasn't actually officially known until the year 2000 when it was revealed in the playstation port of the jojo's bizarre adventure video game number 66 in part 6 while made in heaven is speeding up time mangaka weren't able to make their deadlines because ink dries before it can even touch the paper however there was still one mangaka who could make the deadline that being rohan meaning he is literally so fast he's unaffected by made in heaven number 67 busharati's stand sticky fingers was inspired in both name and ability by the rolling stones album sticky fingers as the vinyl version of the album featured a functioning zipper giving araki the idea to create a stand that works with zippers as a result number 68. back in 2007 shoto nakagawa had an interview with iraqi where she was overly obsessed with the idea of marrying jyotaro and getting beat up by him for that matter yikes read through that interview and you'll know exactly what i mean because of this experience araki created the hypothetical son of both shoko and jyotiro aptly named joe cujo number 69 midler one of the minor antagonists of part three never had her full appearance shown in the manga rather she was only seen from the waist down after being defeated with pol nerf commenting that there was no point in looking at her because jyotaro knocked all her stan's teeth out however while capcom was developing the 1998 jojo's fighting game they wanted to use midler as a playable character but because her appearance was never fully revealed they asked araki to give her a complete redesign wanting her to look somewhat like a belly dancer araki obliged and now her new look is official in any new art pieces depicting her number 70. mirashan no doubt has one of the most interesting hairstyles in the series which is sane a lot by itself but the inspiration behind it was simply based upon the idea of someone spying on you through their hair which araki thought would be rather creepy number 71 while stands weren't introduced until part three araki has stated that if the crusaders were to travel back in time for instance to the events of part 2 they'd still be able to see hermit purple wrapped around a younger joseph joestar meaning that stand users can still technically have their stand visually before it ever awakens number 72 yukako's personality and obsession with koichi was a direct reference to the stephen king book and horror film misery number 73 jojo's bizarre adventure all-star battle is one of the only 27 video games of all time to receive a perfect score from famitsu one of the most popular and heavily respected game review magazines in japan also making it the only licensed video game to receive a perfect score number 74 when it comes to the conception of iggy it all started simply because araki wanted the crusaders to have a pet although similarly to kakyoin and polnoriff iggy wasn't meant to join the main group or even have a stand for that matter as the fool was meant to be an enemy stand and also the very last stand that he had to assign from the tarot cards he specifically chose a dog for the role because he figured a cat would end up betraying the group somewhere down the line and as far as the dog breed goes he selected the boston terrier because he felt it would work well with the black and white manga art style araki wasn't originally much of a dog lover either evident by dogs getting demolished in like every single part of the series but as he kept drawing iggy he ended up falling in love with dogs and wanted to get a boston terrier of his own but because he felt like he couldn't take care of a dog properly on a mangaka's schedule he opted not to get one after all considering iggy was the first animal featured in jojo's with a main role and would also partake in the first animal stand battle araki studied and referenced the manga silverfang the shooting star geen number 75 throughout part 8's serialization sudugi higashitaka had a total of three different corrections to his age as during his first introduction he was noted to be 2 years old however this was later changed to 9 years old in the volume releases much later on in the story it is mentioned that sudugi is now 10 which causes his curse to take effect however during a flashback with jobin he noted that sadugi is now 11 meaning that either jobin doesn't even know his own son's age or there is something wrong here number 76 back in 1996 during an interview with kappa magazine araki stated that vanilla ice was by far one of his least favorite characters simply because he couldn't stand the idea of drawing him number 77 the concept for yasuho's stand paisley park came from iraqi's personal familiarity with older gps units that would list the wrong directions while paisley park's ability would be the exact opposite of taking you to the wrong place the bad directions aspect would be used during its introduction number 78 there have been numerous theories about josuke's savior over the years the most popular and controversial being that it's actually josuke himself from the future saving himself by pushing the car that said the identity of this character has never been revealed in fact it appears as though it never will be or wouldn't really matter regardless as araki has been asked directly about this in a few different interviews and has either decided not to comment or state that it's irrelevant and was merely josuke's memory number 79 while araki never gave a concrete explanation as to what the holy corpse in part 7 was he went on to clarify that he developed it specifically as a symbol of purity rather than basing it on any one or anything going on to say that anyone who obtained the holy corpse is guaranteed to find true happiness number 80 in chapter 25 of part 4 on the cover page of that chapter there is some manga falling out of hazamata's locker one of those volumes is the manga gp boy which was put there as a nod to one of araki's assistants hirohisa onikubo who illustrated gp boy when it was serialized back in 1990. number 81 according to araki fugo was originally going to secretly be a spy for diavolo and giorno was going to be forced to kill him as a result however araki was going through some pretty rough stuff in his personal life at the time and felt that he wasn't mentally able to illustrate such a betrayal by a close friend and thinking readers would feel the same way about such a turn of events he decided to make fugo leave the group willingly instead number 82 made in heaven's original stand name was stairway to heaven which was based off the led zeppelin song of the same name however in the volume release of its debut it was changed to maidenheaven after the freddie mercury song and queen album the reason for this was likely because araki figured made in heaven was more symbolic of what pucci was trying to achieve number 83 in chapter 99 of jojolian while explaining female rock humans and how they are indistinguishable from normal human women both enya and hermes are shown this could imply one of two things either that in the original universe of jojo's both enya and hermes were actually rock humans this entire time though this wouldn't exactly make sense within the continuity if that was the case though with hermes in particular since she received her stand via the broken stand arrow she would be one of the only five percent of rock humans who don't naturally have a stand or if not from the original universe it implies that enya and hermes in this alternate timeline are both rock humans and their appearances are pretty much the exact same as the original universe number 84 while nearing the end of part 6's serialization araki found himself feeling like he had reached the peak of his career and his overall creativity for that matter feeling he had accomplished everything he had wanted to accomplish with the series its characters and their abilities this feeling felt so wrong to him that he decided to change his original ending for part 6 to give himself a way to go back to the beginning of the series and do things differently while i'm obviously not going to spoil what that means for the ending of part six there have been numerous instances in older interviews where araki stated that if he ever rewrote part one he would make jonathan a much different character as he felt he made him too pure well he did exactly this with part 7 as it acts as an alternate universe retelling of part 1 giving himself that opportunity to redo jonathan joestar as johnny jo star and make those changes he'd been pondering for so long and if it wasn't for feeling completely content with jojo's as a whole this never would have happened and the series likely would have ended for good after part 6. number 85 the reason josuke's face is never shown in the rohan ovas is simply because rohan absolutely hates josuke number 86 while he wasn't originally going to be a member of the crusaders araki did entertain the idea of hull horse switching sides and joining the group multiple times throughout part 3. the most notable moment he considered it would be after avdol was temporarily taken out of commission by whole horse himself even going on to draw whole horse in a color page with the remaining crusaders at the time that said avdol was always meant to come back rather than being replaced but araki eventually decided whole horse would offset the balance of the group's dynamic being too similar in personality to polnariff and struggling to figure out a way to properly incorporate his stand emperor into future fights as an ally ability number 87 to continue the last fact a little bit kohei kidono and tasuku kurasuma recently released a jojo spin-off series called crazy diamond's demonic heartbreak this is the first jojo spin-off manga not written by araki himself and it debuted on december 18th of 2021 making it still ongoing at the time of making this video the interesting thing about it being that whole horse takes the mantle as the protagonist in this spin-off taking place in 1999 whole horse makes his way to mario after trying to help an old lady find her missing parrot and of course while he's there he runs into josuke give it a read for yourself to see what happens from there number 88 while crazy diamond's demonic heartbreak was the first jojo spin-off not written by araki another spin-off released on the same day that being fujiko's bizarre worldly wisdom white snake's miscalculation created by show aimoto it takes place in part 6 directly after jolene receives jotado's star platinum disc poochie and white snake obviously want to take care of her at this point but there was one additional prisoner they forgot about fujiko and while not much is known about them yet another two spin-offs involving lisa lisa and iggy have recently been announced nah nidia irma during the anime production of part four araki approached david productions with the suggestion that they include kira in several background shots early on to foreshadow his role as the main antagonist later the reason he suggested this is because during the original serialization araki didn't realize kira was going to be the main antagonist of part 4 until much later on when he first introduced kira and had he known this earlier he would have added foreshadowing up to his introduction number 90. naranja's stand aerosmith is actually piloted by a tiny pilot named mr smith number 91. while joseph joestar does appear in part 4 at the age of 79 he clearly didn't age very well and therefore doesn't appear in part 5 or part 6. however according to araki joseph is actually still alive during the events of part 6. or i guess it's possible that he is as iraqi's exact words were he's likely still alive albeit a little dumber if this information is indeed true that would put joseph at the ripe age of 91 during those events number 92 when anasui was first introduced in stone ocean he was depicted completely differently with shorter hair and even appearing to be female there are many differing reports on why he was later changed to male or why his appearance was changed at all so i implore you to do some research for yourself on this one and come to your own conclusion but in 2019 araki was asked about this at a panel and he stated that at the time he wanted to push the boundaries of what was considered beautiful by creating a very androgynous character that went beyond the standard definition of genders so the simple explanation is that he had a female design in mind initially but wanted to go more of an androgynous route and redesigned him the other explanation given by most fans would be that anasui simply used his stand diver down to change his appearance so he could enter the female side of the prison without being noticed in the anime this is ignored completely and anasui has his normal appearance from the start number 93 something interesting to point out would be the fact that jyotiro is six foot five inches tall or 195 centimeters tall while josuke is 5 foot 11 inches tall or 180 centimeters tall so it's clear that jotaro is a lot taller and even more muscular for that matter well the real kicker here is that they both weigh the exact same at 181 pounds or 82 kilograms you might be asking yourself how this is possible so i'll just leave this here number 94 in part 8 every member of the higashi kata family have stands but the thing you might not have noticed would be that each of their stands have the word king somewhere in their name paper moon king king nothing california king bed speed king nut king call walking heart awaken three leaves and space trucking number 95. palmeriff wasn't originally supposed to appear in part 5 or any future part for that matter as araki wasn't interested in bringing him back but all throughout part 4 araki received multiple letters from fans asking to bring him back to show what he's been up to after part 3. throughout the majority of part 5 he still had no intention to reintroduce him but later decided at the last minute to bring him back merely to answer the question of what he was up to this entire time and show that much like jyotido he was still fighting the good fight number 96 in part 3 while dio is trying to pursue joseph and kakuwin he mows down a crowd of people with his car in the manga one of the people he mows down is none other than waldo himself number 97 to put it in simple terms there exists a micro animal called a tardigrade and there exists a type of tardigrade called the neos digarctus love deluxe which was discovered in 2013 by japanese scientists shinto fujimoto and katsumi miyazaki they named it neo s digarctus love deluxe after yukako's stand love deluxe because upon their initial discovery they claimed that it looked as if the stand was controlling the creature's hair number 98 believe it or not araki kind of accidentally predicted 911 back in 1991 and he did it through oingo boingo which predicts the future within one of their stories araki drew a character with the number 911 on their chest and upon the scene depicting that character's death there is clearly a plane in the background laughing when asked about this during an interview araki stated that he was surprised when he first heard about this and he doesn't remember under what context he chose to draw the plane in the first place calling it just a coincidence coincidence i think not [Music] number 99 it seems evident that out of every jojo protagonist so far jonathan is the only one without a stand but what if i told you jonathan does have a stand after all well in jojo a-go-go it was revealed that dio's ability to project a vision through a crystal ball wasn't actually dio's ability at all and instead was revealed to be a stand that awoke within jonathan's body making it so that jonathan did acquire a stand after all and also making it so dio technically has two stands this also brings up the question of possibly being able to acquire more than one stand by merging bodies which in a way is similar to what happens in part 8. number 100 i imagine many of you are already familiar with the manga group clamp but for those of you who don't know them they are a mangaka group that have created numerous popular works over the years however before writing their own original works they got their start with various dojinshi one such dodenshi work being jojo's bizarre married life taking place in an alternate universe where all of the crusaders made it out alive and joturo and kakuwing got married pretty standard stuff i mean who doesn't ship jyotiro and kakuwin anyway but the most bizarre part would be that later on in this story kakuwin lays an egg considering jotaro is married to cockying here i think we can confirm non-canonically of course that jotudo sucks eggs the egg then eventually gives birth to kakyoin and jotado's child which is later named jyota kujo jota grows exceptionally quick considering he was just born and turns out to also have a stand that they name charmy green as it contains both aspects of his parents stands i don't really have anything witty to say about this i just thought it was interesting that clamp made jyotaro and kokuin have a love child out of an egg pretty much speaks for itself and now the moment you've all been waiting for number 101 as this video is released we're currently in the middle of the part 6 anime adaptation airing once it concludes the hype for a potential part 7 anime adaptation is obviously up next especially since it's considered one of if not the best part of the series by many fans however unfortunately it might be a really long time before part 7 actually gets adapted if at all the reason for this was explained by kohei ashiya the former lead animator for jojo's during an interview he said steel ball run would be really expensive to make since most of the action is horse racing and it's really hard to animate additionally stating that using cgi to counteract this problem would break the flow of jojo's style and would therefore not want to use it so if you're already a fan of part 7 or eagerly awaiting its arrival as an anime only it looks like you might be waiting a long time possibly even forever but there you have it everybody 101 facts about jojo's bizarre adventure sorry to leave it on
