in this video I'm going to show you how to significantly boost your FPS in Paul world if you've been struggling with choppy gameplay or just want to enhance your experience with smoother visuals you're in the right place I'll walk you through each step explaining why each one is essential for improving your game's performance and trust me you'll want to watch until the end because I've saved some particularly effective tips for last these are game changers that you don't want to miss also don't forget to hit the like button and subscribe to the channel for more helpful content like this now let's get right into it let's start by optimizing the in-game settings for Paul world to boost your FPS first things first after launching the game navigate to the option settings and click on Graphics this section is crucial because it holds the key to your game's performance in the graphics settings your initial move should be to set the screen mode to full screen rather than window full screen mode allows your PC to focus solely on the game optimizing its resources for Paul world this leads to a smoother gaming experience without the distractions and performance hits of running in a windowed mode next you'll want to adjust your FPS settings set the max fps to No Limit doing this tells your PC to allocate all available resources to achieve the highest FPS possible ensuring that you're not artificially capping your game's performance another crucial step is to turn off both vsync and motion blur while these features can enhance visual quality they often do so at the cost of FPS the sync designed to reduce screen tearing can limit your FPS to match your monitor's refresh rate which might not be ideal for maximizing performance motion blur on the other hand adds a blur effect during rapid movements which can be visually appealing but is notorious for consuming FPS now let's delve into the specific graphical settings anti-aliasing view distance grass details Shadows effects quality and texture quality for each of these settings you'll want to opt for the lowest possible option this step is vital for boosting FPS as it reduces the graphical load on your system lowering these settings minimizes the complexity of rendering processes thereby freeing up resources and increasing your frame rate lastly regarding the camera settings you can leave them as they are these settings Ty typically don't have a significant impact on FPS so adjusting them won't yield notable performance improvements after optimizing the in-game settings for Peak Performance the next step is to ensure Windows prioritizes Paul World allocating it more system resources Begin by navigating to the Windows start menu and searching for graphic settings once in the graphic settings menu you're presented with an opportunity to manually add applications to prioritize click the browse button to locate the Paul World installation directory if you're unsure where Paul world is installed a quick way to find find out is by opening steam right clicking on Paul World selecting manage and then browse local files this action will reveal the folder where Paul world is installed copy this address return to the graphic settings window and click browse once more this time pasting the copied address to directly navigate to the Paul World folder select the Paul World executable file to add it to the list here you're presented with three choices regarding how Windows should prioritize the game for the best possible performance select the high performance option this setting signals to Windows that Paul World should be given more computing power leading to smoother gameplay and higher FPS this preference tells Windows to prioritize GPU resources for Paul World which is particularly beneficial on systems with dedicated graphics cards ensuring that the game runs as smoothly as possible this adjustment makes a noticeable difference in performance especially on systems where resources are shared among several applications remember these settings can be adjusted as needed depending on your gaming preferences and the overall performance of your PC moving on let's check out our uptime to do this hit up your Windows start menu and type in task manager after that navigate to the performance Tab and select your CPU you'll spot something labeled up time this shows you how long your PC has been running without a restart take a look at mine it's been over 2 days now why is this so important well let me break it down for you the longer your PC is running the more programs and processes can accumulate in the background these aren't always obvious but they gradually eat into your systems resources we're talking about things like memory leaks from programs that don't release Ram properly after use or background processes that start up and never shut down this will lead to a gradual decrease in game's performance think of it like leaving all the lights on in your house for days eventually it's going to impact your electricity bill right similarly leaving your PC on for extended periods without a reboot is like giving these background processes free rain to consume resources leading to potential sluggishness and reduced gaming performance so the trick is to regularly restart your PC I recommend doing it at least once every couple of days especially if you're noticing any lag or drop in fps restarting clears out all those background problem processes and gives your PC a fresh start which can significantly improve your computer's performance next up we're going to fix any corrupted files in our system this is key for smooth gaming performance first head over to the Windows start menu and type in command prompt make sure to rightclick on it and select run as administrator this step is crucial because you need admin privileges to perform the scan we're about to do once the command prompt window pops up type in sfc leave a space type forward slash and scan now then hit enter what this does is it commands window Windows to start scouring your system for any corrupted or missing files this is a bit like doing a deep clean of your PC's file system when you run this scan Windows gets to work detecting and repairing any issues it finds this includes replacing damaged files with fresh correct versions by running the scan and fixing any issues you're essentially tuning up your PC to ensure it runs games as smoothly as possible depending on the speed and state of your system this process can take anywhere from a Brisk 5 minutes to a more leisurely hour so you got to be patient here all right moving forward we need to tweak both Discord and Google Chrome for optimal gaming performance a lot of us myself included keep Discord and a web browser open while gaming but here's the thing without the right adjustments they can be pretty heavy on your PC's performance let's kick things off with Discord head into your user settings and under app settings you'll find Advanced now this is where the magic happens you'll see an option called Hardware acceleration what this does is it uses your GPU to make Discord run more smoothly but and this is a big butt you want to turn this off when gaming because it can sign significantly impact the performance of your game your GPU should be busy dealing with your game not making Discord run smoother the same rule applies to Google Chrome click on those three dots in the top right corner and dive into the settings navigate to the system section here you're going to want to turn off the hardware acceleration option as well this prevents Chrome from hogging your GPU resources you also need to disable the option that says continue running background apps when Google Chrome is closed this is crucial because even if you close Chrome some processes can keep running in the background using up your systems resources turning this off ensures that when you close Chrome it's really closed next up let's talk about something I notice a lot of Gamers Overlook updating Windows now you might be wondering why bother here's the thing keeping your windows updated is critical for several reasons updates often include performance enhancements security patches and sometimes even new features that can help your system Run games more efficiently to get your windows up to date head to the start menu and type in check for updates as you can see on my screen my windows is already up to date if yours isn't you'll see an update button go ahead and click that now let's let's dive a bit deeper into why this is so important Windows updates are not just about adding new stuff or fixing some annoying bugs they often include optimizations that can improve your PC's overall performance this could mean smoother frame rates faster load times and less lag for a gamer that's like fine-tuning your car before ER race another thing is compatibility newer games often take advantage of the latest system updates if you're running an older version of Windows you might miss out on optimized performance or Worse find that a game won't run at all moving forward we need to address the startup apps that should be disable AED it's actually quite surprising how many people aren't aware of this little trick so let's jump in head over to your window start menu and open your task manager then navigate to the startup tab this tab is a gold mine for tweaking your PC's performance in this tab you'll find a list of all the apps that are set to automatically start up when you boot your PC now here's the deal not only do these apps eat into your FPS while gaming but they also contribute to slower overall PC performance and longer boot times your job here is to sift through these apps and identify the ones you don't really use once you choose chose the ones that you want to get rid of Simply select them and hit disable why is this important well every app that starts up with your PC is like a little weight on its shoulders the more weights you have the heavier the burden which means your PC has to work harder right from the get-go by disabling unnecessary startup apps you're essentially lightening the load on your PC this leads to faster startup times and more resources available for gaming it's all about ensuring that your PC's power is focused where you need it most the last thing you want is for background apps to be nibbling away at your system performance while you're in the middle of a gaming session also keep in mind that some of these startup apps can reenable themselves after an update Without You noticing so it's a good habit to check this tab regularly next on our list is clearing out the junk files from your computer to give your FPS a nice boost trust me if you've never done this before you're going to notice how much smoother your computer feels almost immediately after so let's get started first you're going to want to open the Run window you can do this by pressing the Windows key and r on your keyboard simultaneously in the Run window type in percentage temp percentage and press enter this will open up a folder filled with temporary files these files are basically leftovers from different applications and processes you've run on your computer now what you want to do is select all of these files and delete them don't worry about breaking anything these are files your system doesn't need to function once you've cleared out the entire folder bring up the Run window again this time type in temp without the percent signs and hit enter you're going to find more temporary files here just like before select all these files and delete them these are additional temporary files stored in a slightly different location finally we're going to tackle the prefetch folder again bring up the Run window and type in prefetch hit enter and you'll see yet another collection of files select all of them and delete them the prefetch folder contains files that are used to speed up the loading of software but over time it can get cluttered and counterproductive once you've deleted all these files head over to your recycle bin and permanently delete them by clicking the empty recycle bin button this step is crucial because until you empty the recycle bin those files are still taking up space on your hard drive why is this process so important well these temporary and prefetched files can accumulate over time and start taking up valuable space on your hard drive they can also cause your system to slow down as it sifts through more and more unnecessary data by clearing them out you're freeing up space and resources allowing your PC to run more efficiently this can lead to better performance in games including higher FPS and smoother gameplay coming up next we're going to tweak your power plan and adjust the performance options to squeeze out every bit of performance from your PC first things first dive into your windows search bar and type in choose a power plan then hit enter this will pop open a window where you'll find a few different options balanced high performance and power saver to maximize your PC's performance especially for gaming you're going to want to select the high performance option this setting tells your computer to prioritize performance over energy saving which can significantly boost your gaming experience now let's move on to fine-tuning the performance options press the Windows button and R simultaneously to open the Run window type in system. CPL and press enter this command will bring up the system proper properties tab here navigate to the advanced Tab and you'll spot the performance section click on settings and you'll see that by default the option let Windows choose what's best for my computer is selected however for the sake of achieving the best possible FPS we're going to switch this to adjust for best performance selecting this option will turn off all the extra visual features that consume your PC's resources when you choose the high performance power plan you're essentially allowing your PC to use more power to ensure it runs at its peak capabilities this is particularly useful during gaming sessions where you need all the processing power you can get for a smooth lag-free experience on the other hand adjusting the performance options to prioritize performance over appearance reduces the graphical load on your system Windows has a lot of visual effects designed to make the user interface look pretty however these effects can eat into your systems resources potentially affecting your game's performance by turning these features off you're freeing up those resources to be used by your games instead leading to better fps and a smoother gaming experience overall next on our optimization checklist is clean cleaning up our main disc which is an essential step for boosting your PC's performance so let's get to it head over to the windows search bar and type in this PC then hit enter here you'll want to find your main disc which for most of you will be the C drive right click on it and select properties in the properties window look for and click on the disk cleanup button this handy tool is going to show you a bunch of files that you can safely remove from your dis these files include system temporary files error reports and other unnecessary files that just sit there taking up valuable space and potentially slowing down your PC in the dis cleanup window you'll see a list of items you can delete it's usually safe to select all these options as they're mostly redundant files that don't contribute to your system's core functionality however if you have specific files or folders that you know you want to keep like in my case I have this one folder I need make sure to uncheck those everything else though can go once you've made your selections hit okay to start the disc cleanup process by cleaning up the space you're essentially giving your PC more room to breathe and operate which can result in smoother and faster performance this is especially noticeable when playing games as they often require a lot of disc space and resources to run effectively disc cleanup also helps in maintaining the overall Health and Longevity of your hard drive over time as your disc gets filled with unnecessary files it can start to affect your computer's boot time program loading times and overall responsiveness by regularly performing a disc cleanup you're ensuring that your PC remains efficient and clutter free next on our agenda let's focus on turning on Windows game mode and disabling the windows game bar this step is vital for optimizing your gaming performance to get started head over to your Windows settings and click on gaming once you're in the gaming settings your first task is to disable the game bar the game bar while useful for capturing gameplay and screenshots can be a bit of a resource hog it runs in the background and for those who don't really use its features it's just using up valuable system resources that could be better allocated to your game so by turning it off you free up those resources potentially improving game performance and reducing any unnecessary background activity after disabling the game bar your next move is to activate game mode you'll find the game mode option in the same gaming settings area make sure to turn this on game mode is a fantastic feature because it helps optimize your PC for gaming what it does is it prioritizes your game in terms of resource allocation this means your system will focus more on running the game rather than other background processes it can help with smoother frame rates better performance and overall a more stable gaming experience when you're gaming you want your PC to be as focused on the game as possible you don't want background processes like the game bar eating into your CPU or GPU capacity by turning these features on and off you're essentially telling your PC hey it's game time let's put all our effort into making this experience as good as it can be coming up next we've got a lesser known trick that can really make a difference and that's disabling Dynamic tick this is a tweak that not many people are aware of but it will have a significant impact on your system's performance so how do you go about disabling Dynamic tick first head to your Windows start menu and search for command prompt remember you need to run it as an administrator this is a crucial step because if you don't run it as administrator the change won't be applied once the command prompt is open type in the following command bcdedit space forward slash set disable Dynamic tick leave a space yes and then press enter now you might be wondering what exactly does disabling Dynamic tick do Dynamic tick is a feature in Windows that allows the system to tick only when necessary primarily to save power while this can be beneficial for saving energy especially on laptops it often times interfere with gaming performance disabling Dynamic tick tells the system to operate on a more consistent tick rate this can result in smoother performance as it reduces potential micro stutters or lag which are especially noticeable in high-paced gaming scenarios keep in mind that this tweak is more about stabilizing performance rather than drastically increasing your FPS it's about ironing out those little hitches and stutters that can sometimes occur especially in games that require quick and precise reactions moving on another crucial step for boosting your gaming performance is updating your graphics card drivers it's surprising but many people often overlook this and it can have a substantial impact on your FPS so let's get this sorted right now for those of you using Nvidia graphics cards you'll want to open up the GeForce experience application and for the AMD users out there don't worry the process is pretty similar with your software once you have GeForce Experience open look towards the top left corner and click on the drivers tab you might notice like in my case that your drivers aren't up to date this is pretty common as new driver updates are released regularly to update your drivers simply click on the download button this will start the download of the necessary files for your driver update it's a straightforward process but one that holds significant importance updating your graphics card drivers ensures that your GPU is running optimally with all the latest optimizations and Bug fixes from the manufacturer this can lead to improved game performance better compatibility with new games and in some cases even new features or enhanced support for certain Technologies once the download is complete go ahead and click on Express installation this option takes care of the installation process for you applying the best settings for your system after the update is installed an essential step is to restart your PC this ensures that all changes take effect properly and that your system recognizes the new driver updating your graphics card drivers is like giving your GPU a tuneup it ensures that you're getting the best possible performance out of your Hardware which is especially critical if you're playing the latest and most demanding games regular driver updates can also resolve issues you might be experiencing in games like crashes glitches or performance drops so always keep your graphics card drivers up to date for the best gaming experience next on our list we need to declutter our computer by uninstalling programs that we no longer use this might seem like a simple step but it can significantly affect your FPS so it's worth paying attention to to start navigate to your Windows start menu and type in add or remove programs this command will open up a window where you can see all the applications currently installed on your system your task is to sift through these applications and identify any that you installed in the past but haven't used in a while each program on your computer takes up space on your hard drive and can potentially run background processes that you're not even aware of these background processes consume valuable system resources which could otherwise be allocated to your games by removing these programs you're essentially freeing up those resources allowing your PC to run more efficiently and dedicate more power to your gaming experience so take a few minutes to clear out those old unused applications and give your PC a fresh start by unloading unused programs you're lightening the load on your computer leading to improved performance quicker startup times and importantly for gamers better fps next on our list is to defragment the main hard drive this step is crucial for maintaining and enhancing your system's performance to kick things off head over to your window start menu and type in defragment and optimize drives then press enter this action will open a window dedicated to the task at hand within this window you'll need to select your main hard drive which for the majority of you will be the C drive and then click on optimize the time it takes to complete this process can vary significantly ranging from a mere 10 seconds to As Long As 10 minutes depending on your PC specifications and the last time you performed this optimization once you've optimized your main drive it's a good idea to repeat the process for your other dve drives as well each Drive can benefit from defragmentation especially if you store games or other frequently used applications on them over time as you create delete and modify files your hard drive can become fragmented this means parts of files can be scattered across different areas of the disk when files are fragmented your computer has to work harder to access them which can lead to slower performance longer load times for applications and a decrease in overall system responsiveness defragmenting your drive reorganizes these files placing them in contiguous sections of the dis which makes it easier and faster for your hard drive to access them this can lead to improved system speed quicker boot times and for gamers enhanced FPS and reduced game loading times it's worth noting that if you're using an SSD the defragmentation process is not necessary ssds operate differently from traditional hard drives and don't suffer from fragmentation in the same way thanks to their lack of moving parts next we need to disable Windows notifications this is a key move because notifications can be a significant distraction and can even impact system performance during critical moments to do this navigate to your Windows settings then select system and then find notifications and actions in the sidebar on the left inside the notifications and actions section you'll see several options related to how notifications are displayed and managed on your system it's important to turn all these options off to ensure that no unexpected pop-ups interrupt your workflow or gaming sessions when you're in the middle of gaming especially in competitive or immersive environments the last thing you want is to be pulled out of the experience by an irrelevant notification not only can this break your concentration but it can also cause unnecessary load on your system resources potentially affecting game performance each notification that pops up momentarily diverts system resources to display it which will lead to frame drops or stuttering in resource intensive moments next on our list is to disable all windows background apps if this is your first time doing this you might be surprised to find a bunch of Microsoft and other applications running in the background which could be stealthily eating away at your FPS to shut down these background apps you need to head over to your Windows start menu and type in background apps then hit enter in the window that appears you'll see a list of all the apps that have permission to run in the background these apps can be anything from your email client to various Microsoft Services while they might be helpful for certain functionalities they can also use up system resources that could otherwise be dedicated to your gaming your goal here is to turn off every single one of these options by doing so you're ensuring that these apps aren't running unseen in the background consuming memory and potentially affecting your systems performance this can result in unnecessary CPU and RAM usage which is particularly problematic when when you're running resource intensive games by turning them off you're freeing up those resources for your gaming needs now we're about to tackle one of the most crucial steps for boosting FPS tweaking the best Nvidia control panel settings start by right clicking on an empty space on your desktop and select Nvidia control panel once it's open focus on the menu on the left side and click on adjust image settings with preview by default the option let the 3D application decide is usually selected however for those with less powerful PCS I recommend choosing use my preference emphasizing and sliding it all the way towards performance this prioritizes system resources towards performance rather than quality which can be a GameChanger for lower-end systems for those with mid-tier or higher end PCS a better choice might be use the advanced 3D image settings after selecting this click on apply then hit the take me there button which will bring you to a screen with a plethora of Graphics options to play around with in this section you'll find various settings that can be optimized for the best FPS without sacrificing too much in terms of Graphics quality you can pause the video at this point and adjust your settings to match mine which are tailored for Optimal Performance when you fine-tune these settings in the Nvidia control panel you're essentially giving direct instructions to your GPU on how to handle Graphics processing this level of control enables you to strike a balance between visual quality and performance ensuring that your games run smoothly without looking too grainy or pixelated continuing with our optimization the next step is to disable the built-in recording features in Windows this is a lesser known tweak but can make a noticeable difference to do this go to your start menu and click on the gear icon to open the settings once there select gaming and then click on captures on the left side bar in this section you'll see options related to recording gameplay and audio many gamers aren't aware that these features even when not actively used can quietly consume system resources and affect your FPS therefore if you're not regularly using these features for recording your gameplay the best move is to turn them off when you have recording features enabled your system has to allocate resources to them constantly this includes a portion of your CPU and GPU power as well as memory this allocation happens even if you're not actively recording just in case you decide to start by disabling these features you're freeing up those resources allowing your system to focus entirely on running your game as smoothly as possible moreover background recording features can also take up disk space and potentially lead to slower game loads or system performance disabling them means your system isn't continuously writing and storing unnecessary data which can especially benefit those with limited storage or slower hard diss next we're going to enable a specific Windows setting designed to enhance your gaming performance to access this setting simultaneously press control and I on your keyboard which will bring up the settings screen after that click on system and then head over to the display section scroll all the way down and click on Graphics settings at the top of this page you'll find an option called Hardware accelerated GPU scheduling this feature is described as a way to reduce latency and improve performance by turning on this feature you are allowing Windows to better manage how your gpu's memory is used which can lead to smoother gameplay and potentially higher FPS this is particularly useful in scenarios where your GPU is being heavily utilized like during intense gaming sessions by reducing the workload on your system CPU and allowing the GPU to manage its own memory you might see a decrease in latency and an overall boost in performance it's important to note though that not all systems will see a massive performance leap with this feature enabled the impact can vary based on your Hardware configuration the type of games you play and other system settings however for many of you watching it will help you get more FPS in your games also remember to restart your PC after after enabling this feature this step is crucial as it ensures that the changes are fully applied and the system can start utilizing the new setting effectively before wrapping up the
