having smooth FPS makes a massive difference in how good you're able to perform but unfortunately stock PCS run on very far from optimal settings so today I'm going over 33 crucial tips to make your performance a ton better before that I want to quickly talk about gearup as you all know ping is also super important in fortnite and with gear up improving your ping is incredibly easy the way it happens is simply through optimizing your connection true to use of uncongested network routes this makes your data travel noticeably faster resulting in way lower and more stable Pang a few other game vpns have reached out but through testing I have found that gup is by far the easiest and most effective to use before I started using gup I would play on nearly 50 ping but using their booster I go down all the way to around the 20 mark this decrease in ping not only makes the game a whole lot more fun but it also makes it a lot easier the thing I love about gear up is that with just one click I reduced my ping with around 50% and ensure that my connection is stable it is also used by many Pros like Asian Jeff Maro and day so you know that this is an app to trust if you're playing cons cons gearup also offers something called hyper EV and this is a gaming router that connects to your console and stabilizes your connection if this sounds interesting you can test out the gar booster by clicking on the link in the description below and if you're on Console the link for hyperb as well as everything you need to know will also be down there I also need to say that this is the third time I'm sharting out gup and the first two times I did it a lot of people commented that they saw very positive results so check it out and let me know how it works for you the first thing we're taking a look at is turning off some really important settings in the epic games launch to do this search up epic games launcher open it up and go to library when in the library go to fortnite and click these three dots next to where it says launch and click options when you're in here make sure direct X12 shaders high resolution textures and save the world is not checked naturally if you play save the world keep it checked but if you don't uncheck it click apply and let it to its thing moving on out of the epic games launcher we want to go ahead and disable the apps we don't need on Startup the reason this is important is so that the PC is on our minimum will load every time we boot up the computer and ready to perform at the highest level possible to do it simply go down to your taskbar right click on it and go into task manager then head on over to Startup and look at all the different apps that has status set to enabled right click on the ones you don't need to have on when loading your computer and click disable this will put a lighter burden on your PC and as a result you'll get some improved performance moving on you need to turn off a game bar settings the way we do this is by clicking on our Windows button on our keyboard searching for settings and then going into the gaming section when we're in here the first thing we'll see is the game bar simply turn this off it's essentially a recording software built into windows and it just takes away some performance for no reason so turn it off whilst you're in here go down to Game Mode and make sure it is set to on it's on by default so 95% of you will already have it on but it's okay to check to make sure next up we have to tweak our power settings to do this once again click your Windows button and search for settings when you're in here go into the systems Tab and then down to power and sleep on the right hand side you will see it says additional power settings click on that and under preferred plans you want to go ahead and click change plan settings then change Advanced power settings when this power options tab pops up I simply click on the drop- down menu and select high performance now I do need to note that this will cause your tempts to go up on your computer so if you have a bad cooling system in your PC and experience any Setters after the setting is set to high performance turn it back to balanced however for the vast majority of you guys watching this will have a very positive impact I think only a handful of you will actually struggle with your temps and even if your temps do become bad I have some really good tips for that later in this video Hit apply and feel free to go out of this window now we want to go ahead and disable background apps to do this once again click your Windows button on your keyboard and search for background apps when window appears simply go to the top and disable the setting that lets apps run in the background moving on to a bit more of a technical tweak you want to set win 32 priority separation to 16 in order to do this click your Windows key and search up a registry editor once it's opened go to the left hand side and click arrow down on the H keor locor machine tab then do the same for system then current control set control and then you want to scroll down until you find priority control and click in on it when that's done you need to go up and double click on win32 priority separation and type in the value 16 and click okay the next week is super important especially if you have two monitors what I'm talking about is disabling Hardware acceleration on both Discord and chrome to do this simply open Discord click on user settings down in the bottom left and then on the menu on the left hand side you want to scroll down until you find Advanced and then where it says Hardware acceleration you want to make sure it's disabled then you want to go ahead and open up Chrome go to the top right side click the three dots then go down to settings and search for Hardware disable it and restart Chrome the reason doing these two things is really important is because if you get a message on Discord or something pops up on your Chrome on your second monitor you will get an FPS Spike or it might feel like you drop to the Hertz of your second monitor for a split second and talking about FPS dropping the next thing we want to do is Dean animate our Windows to do this click your Windows button and search for adjust when adjust the appearance and performance of Windows pops up click enter on this window you want to make sure to go down and check the custom Tab and then select show thumbnails instead of icons and smooth edges of screen fonts then hit apply next up you once again want to hit your Windows button but this time you need to search notifications and actions then hit enter and make sure that get notifications from apps and other senders is not applied then make another Windows search and search for storage sents make sure this is not enabled either the performance increase you will get from all of these small things will individually not be too crazy but all things added will actually make a very noticeable difference and talking about small changes go ahead and make another search for Diagnostics and feedback and go into the first option that appears on this page you need to make sure that required diagnostic data is checked and not optional diagnostic data you also want to go ahead and search for location privacy settings now this page might look a little different than the previous ones but still go ahead and click on the change button and if it's already turned off fantastic but if it's on make sure you turn it right off just like you want to go ahead and turn off restart apps to do so search for sign in options and then on this page make sure that this slide under the restart apps tab is set to off the same can be said for this next one to no surprise to anyone once again hit your Windows button but this time search up core isolation make sure this right here is set to off this setting will be on by default for all of you watching who have Windows 11 and it tily comes at a very notable performance cost to get that turned off ASAP moving on to the second to last Windows setting we have activity history search for activity and when activity history and privacy settings pop up click in Anna what's really important on this page is to turn off the send my activity history to Microsoft checkbox and lastly we have Hardware accelerated GPU scheduling go ahead and click your Windows button and search for display the option that will pop up will be named duplicate or extend to a connected display and this is totally correct click in on it then we want to scroll down all the way to the bottom and click on Graphics settings and make sure Hardware accelerated GPU scheduling is turned off now this setting sounds fancy but through testing I have found that it sadly comes with some performance inconsistencies so therefore we must turn it off next up we got to take a look at filter Keys filter key Setter is a program that allows your keyboard to work at speeds faster than what is possible from the stock Windows UI it's completely legal and makes it feel like you have less input delay when playing in order to download the program and set the best settings simply search filter Keys ET Setter on your browser head into the geek. org website scroll down until you see filter Keys Setter 1.zip click on it and when it's downloaded you want to drag it onto your desktop click on extract files and open the filter Keys ET Setter program when the program has opened set ignore under to0 Ms repeat delay to 130 Ms and repeat rate to 10 ms make sure the onbox on the right hand side is also checked then click on okay and now you should feel a noticeable Improvement in how fast your register another thing I really quickly just want to talk about is upgrading your PC through used marketplaces and the reason I just want to mention that as a tip is because I know how it is to be on a strict budget and trying to make improvements to your specs it's definitely not easy but going through used marketplaces you can seriously find some super deals or some great equipment so just thought I'd throw that out there or if you have a PC and you just want to optimize it even more then don't worry I got you my next heavily performance increasing tip is checking your temps and cleaning your PC now CPU temps can be checked using programs like Specky or core temp and GPU temps can simply be checked by right clicking on your taskar heading into the task manager performance and scrolling to the bottom as you can see here you have my GPU temp which is pretty low but if this says anything around 90° C or 194° F you are in serious trouble your fans are either not doing their job your thermal paste on your graphics card might be totally gone or you might have a major dust problem is actually one of the biggest Killers when it comes to cooling so I really recommend cleaning your PC at the minimum once a year I like to do a full cleaning process where I use compressed air to get out everything inside of my PC I also repaste my dpu every now and then which is a little bit of a process but generally speaking compressed air alone does wonders so consider looking into it as your performance will probably become quite a lot better another thing that is absolutely crucial to check is that your mouse is working at 1,000 HZ polling rate now since I'm currently using the G Pro X super light I'll be showing how to do it when you have a Logitech mouse if you have any other brand feel free to search it up individually on YouTube as there definitely is a video going over it on Logitech is simply open the ghub app click in on your mouse and make sure the report rate is at 1,000 if it's at 500 250 or 125 just click on 1,000 and it will be changed anything less than 1,000 is honestly really bad and when playing on it you're at a disadvantage because of the extra delay next up we have to change our en settings to do this go to your desktop and right click then go down to Nvidia control panel the first tip is to fix your display settings in order to fix this go down to adjust desktop size and position and then under scaling mode make sure you're on no scaling under here where it says perform scaling on it is crucial that you set it to display and check the box under it hit apply and then we can head on over to the next tip which is the 3D settings now I'm not going to go over each individual setting as it's more time effective to just slowly scroll through here so that you can pause the video and copy my exact settings one to one I'll give you these last few seconds to pause and apply and let's move on next up we're going to check our PC for malware luckily Windows has a good program themselves that can take care of this click your Windows button and search up virus and threat protection click enter and when the window is opened go to scan option select full scan and click scan now malware is potentially really harmful to your performance so doing this every once in a while can be super smart if you think you have malware on your PC but your test comes out with zero threads try downloading a malware bytes and run a test with that program too the next thing we want to do is pressing our Windows button and typing percent temp percent then when we're in this folder we want to press contrl + a and then hit delete so we get absolutely rid of everything we can now this probably won't have that big an effect on your performance but some of you will have tens of gabes worth of temporary files in this folder because you've never cleared it so getting that cleaned up and removed from your computer computer is definitely a very positive thing if you want to take a bit more of an extreme route you can factory reset your entire PC this is actually something I do once every second year as it's honestly one of the most effective ways to instantly get better performance if you are going to reset your PC I strongly recommend doing it by using a USB recovery drive I will not go in detail on how to clean install in today's video but thankfully if you want to pursue it there are hundreds of great videos on how to do it on YouTube next up we have turning off replays and power saving to turn them off simply go to the top right side of your screen and click your avatar then go down to the settings wheel click it and then head into settings when you're on the main page go three icons to the right till you find game click on it and scroll down until you see record replace turn this setting off and then scroll just a little further until you see these two settings under energy saving switch both to off hit apply and enjoy better performance the 27th tip I have is to look into backlight strobing backlight strobing is essentially a monitor setting that limits motion blur and makes moving targets easier to see and easier to hit for me since I currently have an Asus monitor I turn a setting on by simply clicking on the back side on my monitor going to image then into elmb and turning it on backlight strobing has many different names because all brands like to use their own names for it some of them are diak elmb ulmb vrb P XP and MBR in order to find out how to turn on this gamechanging setting search up how to turn on backlight strobing on on X monitor if you have an Asus you type Asus if you have an Alienware you type Alienware you get to drill uninstalling programs you don't use is tip 28 this can simply be done by searching for control panel then you want to click on uninstall a program try your best to find at least five programs you don't use anymore and uninstall them all clearing up a substantial amount of space on your SSD will be very healthy for its performance so go as hard as you can and talking about hard I strongly advise everyone watching this video to update their bios now now updating bios is different from every motherboard manufacturer so just like with the backlight string tip I'm sorry I can't be of much direct help but if you wonder what motherboard you have simply press control+ R and type in Ms info 32 then under system manufacturer it will say what motherboard you have and you can search up how to update BIOS on gigabytes MSI or whatever brand name you have this can in many cases directly increase your overall performance with multiple percentage points if FPS stutters is a massive problem for you then tip 30 will help you tremendously try out the following open Google search for islc download and click on the very first link that appears when you're on the wagnard soft website scroll all the way down until you see official download here click it and as soon as it's downloaded drag the program over to your desktop right click on it and click extract here when a folder has finished extracting open it up and open up the very top program a box like this will pop up and we will Begin by entering our list size as half of our total system memory how much system memory we have can be spotted at the very top if this says 32,000 like it does for me you type 16,000 if it says 16,000 you type 8,000 you get the drill once you're down air check both of the box that says start islc minimized as well as the box that says launch islc on user log on next we want to move our cursor over to the right hand side and check enable timer resolution and type in the value 0.50 the last setting is the islc polling rate leave this at 1,000 unless your system is extremely bad if it is extremely bad put it to 10,000 once all of these settings are applied click stop and then start and finish it all off by clicking Purge standby list something else you can do to increase consistent performance is to download the best Nvidia driver to download the best driver simply open Google and search for NVIDIA drivers and then click the second link that appears once you're on this website you scroll down a little bit and enter your graphics card information if you have a 3070 you put that in if you have a 480 you enter that I have a 2080 ti so this is the input I'll insert then you want to click the search button and scroll down until you find driver 537 58 this is by far the best overall driver for fortnite performance click get download and then download now the download will take some time depending on your internet but as soon as it's finished open it up and then press okay on the pop-up window and let it to its thing the driver will then check your systems compatibility and when that's done you can click agree and continue on this next window it is absolutely crucial that you press a custom Advanced and not express recommended click it and then next and make make sure you press the perform a clean installation box then you're free to press next and let the driver download when it's finished simply restart your PC and enjoy increase performance the second to last tip and probably the most effective one out of any tips I've given in today's video is making sure XMP is enabled now earlier you learned what brand your motherboard was and that will come in handy when it comes to learning how to turn on XMP as well XMP is essentially just allowing your RAM to run at full speed but this setting has to be turned on in BIOS in order to know exactly what to do when it comes to turning it on search up how to turn on XMP on gigabytes MSI or whatever brand name motherboard you have it's not dangerous for the computer at all and it's a must if you want to play games competitively at the highest level and lastly we simply have running a Windows update Press Your Windows button search for Windows updates and click check for updates if there are any updates make sure to download them and restart your PC
