he may consume it upon your lust he adulterers and adulteresses knowing not that the friendship of the world is enmity with god who serveth therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of god that's a strong language there whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of god do ye think that the scripture saith in vain the spirit that dwelleth in us lusted to envy but he giveth more grace wherefore he saith what he says god resisted the proud but giveth grace unto the humble submit yourselves therefore to god resist the devil and he will flee from you draw nigh unto god and he will draw an eye unto you cleanse your hands he sinners and purify your hearts he double-minded i'll stop right there for now but this is a wonderful reading verses continue be afflicted and mourn and weep and let your laughter be turned turn to mourning and your joy to evidence humble yourselves in the sight of the lord and he shall lift you up speak not evil one of another brethren he that speaketh evil of his brother and judgeth his brother speaketh evil of the law and judgeth the law but if thou judge the law thou art not a doer of the law but a judge this is when you take time out to read uh these epistles they speak profoundly to what is happening today among i'm struggling to say it what is happening today among the common man the common man and i want to designate the common man to those who have not truly submitted to god and are under god's rule uh they do not live their lives according to god's rule and god's order so here we are again tonight on the word of submission ask yourself a question oh is my submission touch yourself and ask you oh is my submission ask yourself again all is yeah that's a rhetorical question it means you will have to answer it yourself nobody can answer that for you always my submission so we find here in this text that james in these verses that we have read from chapter 4 seems to suggest that non-submission to god does some things non-submission to god weakens or completely nullifies one's ability to do some things and i'll repeat that when one is not submitted to god it weakens or completely nullifies one's ability number one to have victory over the world the flesh and the devil to have victory over the lust of the flesh the lust of the eyes and the pride of life no consider those three the three things the lust of the flesh the lust of the highs the pride of life the world the flesh and the devil and if you think your fight is against people if we think of fighters against people brothers and sisters and whatever hear me well our greatest battle is against those things and those battles are fought within us the lust of the flesh the lust of the eyes the pride of life the world the flesh and the devil these are battles that are fought internally on a daily basis and the only way we are going to number one a victory over them is to submit to god when you submit to god you're under god's divine authority what if that clock is moving too fast oh no you are under god's divine authority that's number one number two you will successfully resist the devil because under god's authority he cannot stand before you jesus said i give you power over him and i'm emphasizing this tonight because i want us to know that the the the the battle depends on how much we the results of the battle is dependent on how much we apply ourselves the pugilists in the ring the boxer will tell you that hey to win this contest to win this competition to win against this antagonist i must go in there with a made-up mind with a determination that even when my eye got busted and blood is spilling i got to go to my corner men and let them fix it up and i get back in the ring oh if i didn't get a man there well i'm in serious trouble he will tell you even when my eyes got busted my lip got busted blood dripping that's the reason i have corner men and they're there with ice pack and different things to put it on there and to nullify the effect so i can get back in the ring because if i step out because of the blows that i've received tell me what happened fight is over you're a lu oh jesus nobody here with me jesus fight is over you are a loser come on somebody and you were not a loser because you were not told and took me 10 count from the from the referee you became a loser because you yielded you quit you gave up lift your hand and say no giving up god of heaven i need more time say no giving up say ain't no giving up say hey no giving up say i got to go on jesus ain't no giving up i got to go on and know that i can make it hallelujah on the corner men are there to fix up the wounded boxer they are there to fix up the wounded futurists hear me the holy ghost is always there to replenish to fix us up through the world through the anointing and just get us back in the ring and say you got to fight until you win lift your hand and says that's the kind of fight i'm determined to fight what kind of fight fight until i win glory to god give him a praise in this house but submission is very very important when you read chapter one a verse of james rather uh first twelve verses james writing was addressed to the twelve tribes scatters are scattered abroad and maybe certainly all believers here today yes it's written to all of us because we are of the one church according to that chapter one he found them as struggling people with wars and fightings and lusts and killings and ignorance lacking in basic things he found some as adulterers and adulteresses conforming themselves to worldly standard at enmity with god amen oh glory to god controlled by a proud spirit we just read that in chapter four and james says oh no you cannot continue to live like this he said no you cannot continue to live like this you are not under god's submission and as a result of that you are living your life as it pleases you when you're under god's submission and god's order you don't live your life as it pleases you you live your life in conformity to god's word to what he says are you with me we have many teachers in this house tonight well i recognize a number of you the coburns are teachers he's a lecturer college his wife is a teacher several other teachers are here ella coburn many of your teachers and you know for you to be a lecturer today tonight sir for you to be an instructor a teacher you had to in your formative days of learning apply yourselves to the principles of mathematics is a mathematic teacher you had to apply yourself to the proper principle of mathematics in order that you could master the subject pass your test pass your exam and qualify yourself to become a teacher am i talking the truth oh glory to god the same thing is applicable for us who are going to become teachers of the world who are going to become exemplars of the truth who are going to become shining lights and flavoring salt we must apply ourselves to all god says the thing must be done he said if you are going to be successful in overcoming the devil you must submit to me come on somebody he said you can't do it on your own you must submit to me and when you submit to me and you're under my divine authority dear god hear me well today i saw some that i think are young policemen maybe they are recent graduates from the police training college young men out there and said my god these these young men look so brilliant and boss in their uniforms and and whatever we're not 18 year old well 18 19. they can take them in at 18. let's see a 19 year old graduate comes out of the training college police training college and he comes out there he could at 19 years old he could be my grandson yeah almost here a grandson almost not quite but almost and he stands up and see this big old man coming down and said do like this driving my vehicle coming and he comes out and do like this you think i'm submitting to that little young man i'm submitting to the authority that he carries he's a retired senior policeman i have to submit to the authority that he carries 19 years old but he has the bucket even the support of the entire jcf he has a radio with him and if you were to get unruly and be a boisterous and all of that and he alone can't manage you gets on his radio and you call for [Music] left right center that's what it is when you're under god's authority the demons of hell have to respect you not because of who you are but because of whose you are and because of what you carry you carry the anointing lift your hand and say i carry the anointing so he got to respect you because you carry the anointing you have on your uniform you have on your breastplate you have on your helmet you got your lines guarded you have on your shoes you carry the truth he got to respect it oh my god somebody should praise me if you get that somebody should praise him if you receive [Music] hallelujah hallelujah so james says no you can't continue like that we have to get it right we got to get you in a position where you'll be exactly who you ought to be in this world god's authority the symbol of god's authority oh glory to god oh i feel the anointing coming on me somebody praise me i say praise him here so having said all of that even it challenges their sincerity yeah it challenges their sincerity and i believe he might have said do you want to be loosed do you want to be delivered do you want to set free do you really want to have authority over the enemy do you really want it or you're not really sincere about it you say but you don't mean it james says i tell you what you do in verse 7 that's where we are james chapter 4. he said i tell you what to do submit yourself therefore to god that's the first order of the day submit yourself to god and when you submit yourself to god take the other step begin to resist the devil and see what's going to happen james said there's no question as to what is going to happen it is already established what will happen when you submit to god and under that authority you begin to resist the devil he is turned no chance he must flee [Music] satan god to flee somebody praise god he got to flee from you so have you been trying to resist the devil without submission to god have we been trying it on our own well i'm well educated i'm well intelligent i'm well learned and this and that are you trying to use the world's wisdom the world's method to resist the devil it cannot work ask all the men who have preceded us in scripture it did not work for them it will not work for us if you try it it will not work lift your hand and say it will not work [Music] hallelujah it has never worked friends and it will not work you cannot resist him without submission submitting to god with any degree of success nobody has ever done that successfully so what then is submission bishop well it has many definitions as you all know submission it's the act of yielding to the power the control and the authority of another person yielding to the power the control or the authority of another person or an agency i spoke about the policeman and his authority you got to heal to that you got to submit he arrest you in the name of the state he arrest you some years ago the constable would say in the name of her majesty the queen i don't think they say that anymore that's how i aced the authority that they carry that he carries goal i arrest you in the name you're her her majesty's prisoner and i am the one to arrest you in her majesty's name you are the ones who are here to subdue the devil in the name of his majesty majesty worship is majesty [Music] yes that's what we're saying you are the ones we are the ones to subdue the enemy in the name of his majesty the name of his majesty is jesus and unto him every knee shall bow unto him every tongue shall confess things in the heaven things in the earth things underneath the hearts and everyone shall confess oh my god somebody praise him with me here jesus christ is lord yielding to the power control and authority of another person or agency submission it speaks of compliance compliance yes you're compliant to what is ask of you requested a few you surrender you become support supporting it and that's a strong word subordinates you become subordinate to the request of your superior anybody of a superior here tonight you know you're superior well let me i wish i had more time because james said this he said james one of the epistles did it speaks of submitting yourself to the ordinances to all the ordinances of man for god's sake all the ordinances of men for god for the lord's sake accept where it conflicts with your christian faith and your beliefs in other words if somebody is telling you to do something contrary to the word of god contrary to your faith it doesn't matter who they are you have to stand up for what god says oh no you're not with me [Music] the laws of the land says we will we should wear a mask within this period of time not to wear a mask is to be in violation of the order and you many persons have been taken before the courts and i've been fined hefty some for not wearing a mask are you with me somebody now what if there was an order give them say nobody should carry a bible anymore should carry a bible you would be arrested sir anybody else here would be arrested jesus jesus nobody should pray anymore like they told daniel not in your house [Music] where this is happening in well let me leave the country there are spies now in certain countries especially in china yeah you china there are spies in communities that if you never hear you praying reading scripture discussing scripture they are told to report you to the authority and the authority deal with you many of the christian churches in china are closed down they have state church that regulates the worship of those who are going to worship and yet there are millions of christians in china who defy that order and there some of them are on the ground they call them the underground church are you to meet somebody hallelujah but we submit to the ordinances of man for the lord's sake those that are not against our christian faith and belief somebody say something i want to say something else but let's leave that for now so jim says if you are going to get the kind of victory that you really want you have to submit uh yield to the power and control of another's authority being compliant surrender subordinate to another willing to obey take the lower seat see yourself being of less importance and this is one that many people struggle with seeing yourself being of less importance submit become subservient take the lesser seat the lower seat the smaller seat are you with me are you not with me okay so submission when one willingly submit to god willing willingly submit to the ordinances of god it is quite natural that out of that the power of god is going to flow in your life because you would have opened up the conduit you would have cleared the conduit the pipe the pipe is not clogged it is clear so once it is clear and you turn the faucet on water is going to come glory to god somebody praise him once it is clear the water is in the line you turn the faucet down water is going to go start i got news for you here tonight the water is ready to be released the water is ready to be released the water is ready to be released somebody just need to turn the faucet on when you clear the line if your hand has to clear the line clear the line clear the line clear the line clear the line come out of rebellion come out of stubbornness come out of all of those things clear the line submit to god and see what is going to happen oh jesus love will flow joy will flow peace will abide confidence will be raised confidence level will be raised humility will be evident no pride braggadocios people going around full of themselves humility would be the order of the day somebody says something from presenting the word of god tonight humility would become the order of the day it would become natural to humbly yourselves i said sometimes ago that some people try to fake humility you can't fake humility you can't fake it [Music] it's a real genuine stuff somebody praise him let me close so what god is saying tonight he says i want to release that power i want to do it so he calls upon us to humble us to submit to him and he because he likens the church onto the relationship the husband and wife as unto his with the church he also calls a mutual submission in marriage ephesians chapter 5 21 submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of god you don't submit simply because you you you know it's the right thing to do you it's the right thing to do but remember when you do so you honor god in marriage submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of god is not because you're afraid of the man are you afraid of the woman you're afraid of your wife you're afraid of your husband why you submit you submit because you respect and you want to honor god i should get some amen even from the married people bishop i can't submit to a tyrant well is you're wrong for marriage to a tyrant nobody give it you is you take your tyrant live with your tyrant nobody didn't give you him nobody you you take him you took her as a matter of fact some of you take them out of the will of god so dance to your music jesus i can't leave it there i'm sorry i can't leave it there it is very very difficult to submit to a tyrant it is very very difficult to submit to a person who has no affection emotions no it's difficult so that's the reason i'm sorry for some of you ladies who are in some situation sorry for you see but i can't help you i can't help you i'm sorry really sorry and if you're a man who finds yourself in that situation that's sorry for you to you see because some women are tyrants too you know you think it's only men are tyrants we talk about disposal abuse some men are living on the abusive situation with their wives some women beat men drop lick on them bishop oh you know those things it's all right drip them up minister when the saints go marching [Music] a wife told a husband some years ago a wife to all husbands in this very church they would drew up you up you know we drape you up i saw my family stay away beat man and mother and what daughter and daughter in the world of them beat man be careful of those families they will drip you up and beat you then they drive your way excuse me i'm sorry viewers everywhere i hope you are blessed tonight with this worldwide prayer meeting yes it is worldwide prayer meeting i hope you have been blessed with the intercession i hope you have been tell us we know that we are not fully submitted so we ask holy spirit that you help us to work on those areas of weakness in the name of jesus where we struggle [Music] we ask you to give us the strength we ask the poor in the anointing oh god that will cause us to stand as we ought to stand help us lord god to submit to you so that we can successfully resist the devil to the extent that he will flee from us and as we draw nigh to you you will draw an eye to us god the word you sent in time of refreshing today is that you are jealous over us oh a jealous god who wants the best for us at all times and whenever you see us drifting going astray it pains your heart oh god because you know how much you love us and want to lavish us with your blessings so we ask you to forgive us tonight oh glory wash us again and make us clean we pray for those who are struggling more than others help them lord jesus [Music] we pray for our international audience at home and abroad we pray for people in the name of jesus christ we pray that your holy spirit will mold us into the image and the likeness of jesus christ for the moral thing comes about lord god when we submit to ourselves to you walk in the light of your words will you heal those who are sick right now touch them oh god in a very special way relieve them and set them free we pray for evangelist monica barillo and her family right now as they go through this difficult period oh god almighty you can comfort them you can pour in the oil and the wine you can strengthen them in this hour of their deep grief oh god minister to them right now in a very special way and every person is hurting in one way or another the hurt might be physical the hurt might be spiritual the hurt might be financial the hurt might be marital oh god the heart might be just personal as they struggle with themselves to do the right above the wrong hear our person their behalf as we tell you thanks for hearing us on tonight thank you for making it
