and surpassing 1.2 million players in the first weekend making it the fifth steam game to ever do that surpassing Elden ring and The Game of the Year winner balers Gate 3 and that's not even counting the users on Game Pass and Xbox in general it's not a AAA title but it has what we need in the current market of gaming I'm going to say it boldly a good game that doesn't waste your time or disrespect the effort that you've put in I'm looking at you Shadowland power world is developed by the same company pocket pair that developed craftopia and down in the comments below I'm going to be animations on FPS games on YouTube and they hired him with no experience under his belat luckily he left the Boda and took a job offer via Twitter and moved almost 1,000 miles to work on power World Bucket pair's previous games were on Unity then they switched to Unreal Engine 4 based on an email from matsutani who had 10 years of experience with Unreal Engine 4 and wanted to work with pocket pair the company risked it all on this one person who had to train four other team members on how to use Unreal Engine 4 this was a big deal too since pocket purchased assets and animations in unity which doesn't work in Unreal Engine 4 so now they have to start everything from scratch it took pocket pair 1 month to make one pal without a rig and they're over 100 Pals in the game and they've hired this a guy adachi again pronouncing it wrong a guy experienced in motion design who helped them create rigs to make it possible to design all the pals and sala's understanding of a rig is that it works as a joint or a skeleton of sorts where you could have a rig for an elbow with a bending motion instead of manually creating that bending motion all you have to do is manipulate the skeleton and they basically really just said we're going to ball till we fall and then borrow some more with this quote below the budget limit is initially until the balance in your bank reaches zero when it reaches zero you can borrow money they don't know how much it cost it to developed power world they've estimated it to be around 1 billion yen fun fact though the artist for the pals was initially rejected but then 5 months later she was hired onto the team once announced power world was originally viewed to be a meme game but now with its release on on January 19th players and viewers quickly realized that this game had potential with some real love behind it all right I'm going to explain this to you do you see that you see how it looks like a Pokemon that's power world the same kind of passion behind this project is the same passion that's behind undertale Final Fantasy and even Pokemon Red and Blue now for the moment we can just say it's hype right it'll change once it's cooled down but my hope is that power world is here to stay with some updates having the support and the back of its new community along with streamers and content creators covering any new updates changes and just the overall gameplay of power world a lot of this game's critic comes from the first and second day being populated by streamers YouTubers and other gaming Outlets covering this game then of course players like you who get interested and give it a go as well but just like you I don't have streamer or YouTube money in my life so my purchases kind of got to be on point especially with my limited time due to work but if you have Game Pass it's free already but if you don't and you want to play you make a fake email sign up for a dollar a month then make a reminder to cancel the trial won't really have your save anymore but hey look that's how we did it back then without the PS2 memory cards luckily I do have Game Pass so I was still able to play this during my free time so I can understand from my perspective now that you know how to get it let me just say that I didn't expect to have this much fun getting lost in this world you know what it reminds me of it reminds me of that time when you boot up Skyrim for the very first time and you're introduced to this new world which you can take into any direction or just roam around because of pure curiosity you start forgetting how to eat shower drink and probably forget to breathe at times but anyways the game starts you out with waking you up onto a beach to the popey's chicken we got weeb cat and we got FL laughy's degenerate cousin all staring at you he really just kicked dust in my face there we go that's David Ortiz then you'll find a tablet nearby that says towers are the key the tree holds the truth that's literally it that's that's the story I can give you that's all there is power world is one of those games where it's a bit light on the story but it does have a goal for you to work towards realistically it's all in your hands and your adventure is going to be the story where are you going to set a base what time of team do you want with you are you going to be isolated are you going to use other humans as slaves I've decided to go set a base and just go catch them all really but what is power world to you power world is an open world survival game that almost has the same mechanics as Ark and from what I see it takes inspiration from Pokemon ark Zelda breath of the wild from the design the gameplay and possible future PVP along with the crafting and other common mechanics in survival games Power introduces these creatures called Pals but as the others on the internet are calling them Pokémon I can't imagine how pissed off Nintendo really is they're going to cease and desist the whole internet by next week but you can use your pals in a way where they can work around your base and help with these tasks that you would normally do on your own for example you could have a Bambi collecting some wood over time over there in the corner and then you can have a penguine over there Watering your plants and berries while they can help you around the base and gather materials to build faster their second use is to assist you with fighting you can release your pals from a pal sphere and they're able to assist you with fighting other Pals other humans and even the bosses that can be found around the map in these Tower locations or out in the open to catch Pals you have to go out into the open world and beat them with your bare hands until you get better weapons to lower their HP then catch them while they're weak that sounds pretty familiar right careful though this time you can kill them and there's no pal center around you can even use a Cleaver to chop them up into okay sorry that that might have been dark there my fault here I I'll make it real quick beat him and eat them is that better since I did mention that this game takes a bit from Arc it also has the same technology tree that can be unlocked over time by using your technology points which in turn teaches you new items and equipments to make your life easier from having more durable weapons and guns to then be able to provide your pals with weapons as well depending on the pal of course for example you can give this Pansage my fault uh tany an assault rifle then his flying boy sorry Nightwing a saddle to fly through the skies to make navigating the many islands of Breeze as much as I'd love to talk about all the pals and give you their Pros their cons let's try not to forget that they're actually creatures that require food and care as well and they can even get sick which then you'll need to make medicine and take care of them sure you don't have to care about them but you'll need berries and beds just so they can work efficiently for you they'll also take breaks throughout the day as it's mandated by the pal Union apparently they're just the digital paa PA P whatever feeling bad because of bad working what work what bad working conditions bro you got food you got beds we're working conditions you know it's okay just keep doing your job you're going to see what's going to happen I raise your sanity real quick okay so what's the goal [ __ ] I don't even know like I can't even tell you that like I'm unsure actually currently the game has Towers in different locations on the map that act as bosses where you'd either fight a pal or a pal in their trainer pal Master pal master I actually don't know from the small information that the tablet provides us I assume defeat the towers reach the tree so now we're playing Elden ring looking to replace the current pal Lord and ushering a new age of pal unions with health Care Dental Care proper salaries with a bonus basket of berries every year are you kidding me so that was power in a nutshell now look I gave you some free game earlier right go have fun and don't ever let the world
