so since I started the lower play a lot of people have been asking me which side do I side on the Stormcloaks or the Imperials and I have avoided answering the question because I want to do it until the quest wood until we would do that quest in the game but it's gonna take forever for that to happen so I thought maybe I should just do a video like this and just have a talk with you guys about it because I have a lot of issues with the Stormcloaks and what I feel is a lack of vision or a lack of a plan for the future which i think is very obvious at least to me it is and it's funny because when you when you ask this question who decide on Imperials or Stormcloaks it seems like the vast majority of people said with the Stormcloaks and to be very fair I feel like it's only logical like when you start thinking about you know power to the people aah-ha being consumer-friendly or or you know [ __ ] the police flog the government you know like those sort of ideals are of course very popular and it's only logical for people to side with those things your playlist skyrim and you kind of fall in love with the country you fall in love with the people of skyrim and the game itself and and you kind of I guess in some way start to like the place you want to defend it yeah for Skyrim you know and when you when you talk about the Imperials you get this feeling that you're talking about another entity you're talking about someone who is in some way outside of Skyrim whereas when you go to the Stormcloaks it feels to you like right these people care about Skyrim that they care about what happens to this country and that's all they talk about how you know are they to took our jobs and you know let that sort of you get that vibe and yeah of course you want to fight for Skyrim of course you want to make sure that your people are safe and that you're doing something for them so I feel like it is natural for people to just from the get-go and imagine you starting to play the game like I mean literally the first scene is you being executed by the Imperials like it's I feel like it's very natural I guess it's what I'm trying to say it's very natural to fall into this category where you want to set it with the Stormcloaks with a rebellion my problem with that is that it feels like there's a lack of vision and the reason for that is you I feel like the world as it is in the Elder Scrolls as it is in Tamriel it's not as cookie-cutter as they make it to be you you can't just fight the elves and be independent and also want world peace and like this realities are not real you can't fight the elves by yourself and let's talk a little bit about the elves first before we even get there the the reason the elves stopped butchering and killing every human they could find at the end of the Great War wasn't because the Imperials signed the white gold conquered ad it's just not how conquering countries work if you're an empire and you're destroying countries you know just expanding your empire you don't destroy everything and I want if there's any historians out there in the comments that can verify this or counter it or whatever feel free because I do want to see what you guys have to say about this but if you're an empire you don't want to just go on the story everything that's counterproductive like if you go on destroy and burn and pillage and salt the land and butcher every human there is there's not gonna be anything for you to rule nobody wants to rule an empty world and it's funny because this is this is what a lot of people always have talked about with Sonic the Hedgehog and Robotnik when Robotnik wanted to destroy the human race to build a world made out of robots I mean how boring would it be to rule a world with robots right I mean it's ridiculous nobody wants to do that and that's one point the second point is when imagine that you're the you're the old merry Dominion and you destroy zero Dale High raw Hammerfell scarab everything right what are you gonna do next those lands now belong to you there's no humans left there to really govern ate it it is yours now you have to I mean outside of paying trillions of dollars to feel to fund the war now you have to pay money to build the roads that you destroyed you have to because somebody wasn't gonna do it I mean that's all land that you can use so now you have to build roads to that land you have to rebuild houses you have to reseed the land reforest the forests you have to pay for people to defend this new villages and settlements from bandits because all the walls are destroyed by you right now you have to spend so much money rebuilding this so that then you can rule it if you guys play civilization you know how expensive it is to uh to raise cities and then just build there like you know burn everything and then build your own city there from scratch nobody does that you know you're next things you let you let people rule themselves let them worry about themselves let them worried about their own defense let them worry about their crops about racing their own cattle what you do is you tax them you defeat them you teabag them you do whatever you want to do to them but then you let them rule themselves and let them pay you money to govern over them because what you want is an elf it's not to move to cero deal what you want is for them to give you money so that Alan or their capitalist in the Summerset Isles becomes a flourishing god city right that's what you want the white gold cooker that was really just an excuse something extra that the elves probably wanted to to sweeten the deal a treaty that I think the most important factors of it were you know the concept of okay look we won the war so now you [ __ ] belong to us now like that's that was the main purpose of the treaty the Talas side with treaty is really just an extra thing in my belief but the point is and and and this is what I feel like a lot of Stormcloaks probably don't even realize it's the concept that the Empire is pretty much for all terms and purposes owned by the Aldmeri Dominion like when you're playing Skyrim and you're walking around and you see this I'll marry this elvish justicar it's just walking around with prisoners of war or whatever imagine that but tenfold happening in the inci Rodale like cero deal is not how it used to be back in Oblivion the places probably failed with thousands upon thousands of elvish uh soldiers just cruising on every single city you know keeping the peace making sure that everything is in order like when you see the in the the Emperor in the quest line for the for the Brotherhood and stuff see that guy probably would have come back to the Imperial City and there would have been like five verse ten elvish soldiers just waiting for him there you know every time he sleeps there's probably like guards elvish guards waiting outside you know like just just waiting for slip a mistake and they would have just lit his throat you know like for all terms and purposes the elves run the sea Rodale and the interesting thing about this is that and this is not like my point to say that maybe the summer looks are correct my point is you can't alienate and kill the only friend you have left in this world where honestly the elves could just kill you they really just don't give a [ __ ] the obviously the Dark Elves in morrowind couldn't care less about you they hate you hi Rock Hammerfell The Imperials in this year in Seattle they don't really care the only thing the only entity that actually cares about your well-being and whether you're defended or not is the Empire as a whole if the Empire gets disbanded you could just die nobody's gonna save you you think the people from high rockin in a common defend you know they could if you're part of an alliance then maybe they would but now they won't right it's literally the only entity that cares about you and your alan aiding them and your in your kill on them and that's and that's why i feel like there's a lack of vision as far as the Stormcloaks are concerned and that's what rika believed in and the part that I think was lame was how undervalued Rica is because see Rica yeah she's like delegate for the Imperial side of the questline but she's a Nord she loves Skyrim and she wants to see Skyrim succeed she was there with Ulfric Stormcloak during the during the Great War she fought alongside him to you know fight against the elves to free their lands it's not to free them because he wasn't it was an Elvish owned then but you know to defend them she saw the Concordat being signed like over it dead like she is the opposite of what Ulfric is but the same you what I mean like she's the other side of the coin for fur all freak storm cloak it's the same coin but it's just a different side of it she understood that you can't just fight endless armies without an alliance it just doesn't work because what's gonna happen now the elves could easily just attack Skyrim for this rebellion right no one is gonna defend you now do you think the Empire's are gonna be like oh no let's Skyrim we gotta save them no you [ __ ] kill them if you're sided with the Stormcloaks you killed thousands of Imperials they're not gonna defend you now are you crazy like and the crazy part is that the elves can literally come from Cyrodiil like the armies in Balon would could just walk through Siro deal because that land owned it's it's pretty much there's now they could just walk their army through city Rodale in to skyrim they can send boats from the sea of ghosts north into skyrim and know what its gonna help you like what are you gonna do now in fact what most likely would happen is you're going to have an army comprising of like 30 to 40% elves and 60% or so Imperials because the DLC say okay Imperials you're gonna have to fight with us on this one or you know you're or we have to fight you too if the other liberals are not gonna side they're not going to side with you they're gonna fight against you because they have to and because you killed them so what are you gonna do now you're gonna die right Rick and you this she knew how things worked and when you when you say when you said with the Empire you're not siding against Skyrim you're siding with Skyrim on a different way you know it's not our way or the highway like life is never that black and white it's always gray right and that's that's my issue with the vision that Stormcloaks after and this is not even talking about ole Frank right this is just the actual ideals of the notions of independency that I think are ridiculous right you know what it feels like to me Skyrim feels to me like Japan fighting at the end of World War two just like no the war is not over we can do this yeah like that that hashtag Yolo person in league of legends when their entire team is dead and he's like trying to fight one versus five like that's that's who's Skyrim is right now waiting to be nuked right it's it's and and when they get nuke nobody's gonna do [ __ ] nobody's gonna help you you know you are on your own that's not where you want to be it's not so now let's talk about ol Frank because this is the other side of the page and a lot of people say that Ulfric had a lot of he had ambitions to become hiking and that he's just doing it for power and some arguments for this all are obviously the lack of vision of course as we just talked about but also I guess it's mannerisms and his his war kind of lost and I don't know I don't really want to talk about whether that is true or not what I want to talk about is toric the High King toric because what bothers me about this whole idea is the the killing of toric by Ulfric you see toric was actually chosen by the Moot to be hiking and for all children for all terms and purposes he was the leader of skyrim he was chosen to be by Ulfric himself Ulfric is part of the moot he is the yarra love of Windhelm so he was part of the mood that chose um toric well i don't know how it works as far as you know the the timelines and stuff but I'm pretty sure he was there when when he was chosen but the interesting thing is that the mood wasn't even needed see the mood was uh was formed so that the the so that Skyrim could choose a king in case that there were no heirs to the throne if the high King died and he had no sons then we had to choose a king and that's why the mood was created and funny because it was created when Harald we all know Harold he actually lived I think it was 108 years so he completely outlived his children so he had no heirs to to the throne and when that happened the mood was created but uh Toric's father was he he died and his son was the heir yet they did the mood anyways just to confirm it alright so we know that Touareg is the true heir to the throne but just for the sake of tradition let's make a moot and actually decide who's gonna be king and they still chose toric so he wasn't just the true heir he was actually chosen as well so it wasn't like oh my god I I don't like the sky or whatever like he was chosen for this right yet ol Frank thought yeah [ __ ] that [ __ ] right but what pisses me off the most is not even that what pisses me off the most is that it wasn't fair it really was not fair Touareg toric knew that he knew who alfred was he knew the power that Ulfric possessed you know we all know that toric that Ulfric was in the great war we've talked about that a while back um and I mean if you follow the dialogue the dialogues in the game they tells you very specifically Ulfric is a famous person he was taught by the Greybeards he knew how to use the voice he fought him the war he was a great warrior everyone respected him toric respected him a great deal and thus the sad part is that it is said in the game by the court wizard of solitude that if that Tory respect that all Frakes so much that if Ulfric would have asked Touareg to side against the empire he would have done so but Ulfric didn't ask he just killed him to take the high king position for himself and and I think that's probably the biggest argument against Ulfric saying that he just wants power he could have just asked and Tory would have agreed whether that was a good choice or not it's debatable and I think it's not a good choice I think you have to side with the Empire but uh he would have done so for Alfred it is stated in the game but that's not even the crazy part and I know I'm stalling not really stalling but that's not the part that pisses me off the most the part that pisses me out the most is that it wasn't just a murder Alfred didn't just murder toric he blackmailed him and this is the part that I think gets forgotten the most or not even talked about for that matter you see when you find Turek in southern guard he talks about how he he fought Ulfric and he knew he was going to lose I mean of course I we everyone knows who Alford is he know everyone knows he can use the voice he said fearsome warrior the [ __ ] Touareg he was just he was born in nobility he's not a warrior of course is gonna lose there's nobody thinking here that he's gonna have a chance right he knew that his destiny was to die he was going to die but he says when you meet him in summon guard it's a very specific line and he says you know I faced him fearless Lee and I kept my honor right he didn't have a choice and the reason he didn't have a choice is because you see him in Southern guard and we talked about this before and some of the lore plays you can't just go to southern guard and if and imperson that just dies doesn't necessarily go to sovngarde to go to summon guard you have to upheld the traditions and honor of these Skyrim people like that there is a code of conduct that you have to fulfill in order to reach solving guard is there's a pact there you have to be on erful you have to be like a good person you know there's a series of things that we don't really get told specifically what they are but those things exist right if toric and this is tradition right the concept that if I yar old or someone challenges you to a duel for the ownership of the high-gain position you know if they challenge you to adult you have to accept like it is a tradition you have to it's just part of the culture you you can't say no to that saying no to that means that you're you like honored you're not an honorable person you're not holding the traditions and if you do that you do not go to sovngarde so in essence they toric knew he had to accept the duel he was going to die there was no way he was gonna win but he had to because if we didn't accept the duel he was going he was not going to go to heaven it is that simple Ulfric knew this he knew that he had to accept the duel because otherwise he wouldn't go to heaven think about it Ulfric was blackmailing Touareg say well okay so you die by my hand now and I become a hiking or you don't go to heaven how [ __ ] up is that that is [ __ ] up that's that's why I don't think Wulfric is a good person at all that's that's that's kind of a lame-ass the session to make and obviously toric made the right decision okay [ __ ] I'm gonna fight you I'm gonna die but dude I'll be honor full I'll go to heaven and you know what he says you know what toric says after that he says I have kept my honor but Ulfric have you done the same he says that he knows what Ulfric did he knows that well when ol Frank did was honor Lutz and and that's why it bothers me so much Ulfric and what he's doing not just because the rebellion is honestly meaningless there shouldn't have been this fight he could have just asked toric and boom just hundreds of thousands people would have died but he completely honor Leslie killed Touareg and and you know made all this happen for a stupid vision that's that's my point of view guys that's that's what I believe when people ask me and you guys were asking me for a while if I was Empire or Stormcloak this is my answer it's really just my answer it's really just what I believe in I'm not saying that I'm correct I was just giving you guys my argument on it and I mean if I turn some some heads then awesome if I didn't that's awesome as well I want to see what you guys think because this is just my argument I'm sure that there's a lot of Stormcloak supporters out there that have their own arguments that when I want to talk about them and if you guys have a lot of very convincing arguments then we might just make a second video for this and explain the other side with some you know hardcore awesome logics so so drop them in there I hope you guys enjoyed this video it's just really I mean I don't know if you guys like these ones that the last one I did is pretty was pretty popular we talked about me rock and and what happened to the Dragonborn after he killed me rock and man that that video has like I think 50,000 views now people are liking it a lot so I might just do more of this commentaries because you guys seem to dig it but anyways guys thanks for listening to me ramble and bye bye love you
