hey you'll have to go everybody welcome back to another team al will cook-off now today guys I'm back with DJ how about would take me in a black wookie [Applause] probably the most Canadian cook-off two dates we're doing the poutine comment since episode one so we're happy to come with you guys the banger for Halloween if you don't know how home.what poutine is is fries gravy and cheese but Keith's cheese curds you're right a lot of restaurants do add meat and other things to them so that's what these boys are going to be doing today so let's go through the ingredients incredibly quickly we have oil to fry french fries russet potatoes no Andrea we have six different types of communities so they can choose whatever type of reven they want we got regular cheese curds we got cheddar cheese curds and we got mozzarella cheese in case the owner had some different types of cheeses we got bacon ground beef sausages he wanted some cilantro and going quick pause ladies and gentlemen you grill since I 19 feet for beef gravy sauce Oh book you got that French because poutine is French that's so I'm gonna put it then heats not on yet I'm gonna turn it on like the lowest Wang one thing I find about gravy if you put it on like anything above low it starts getting all like it creates like a skin layer above it it's all okay I know exactly what you mean so I'm gonna leave it mad little front low up sim we're gonna put it on the sim sim sim up things were looking frantic for a while but things are looking you're up now you're uh-oh chubby chef Dave chef Dave is coming back to finish his potato one thing David exemplifies is a new cutting technique and a new chef technique every episode guys chef de Vaca these fries look way better this time I don't know what no no no just when you thought chef D was a normal human being oh he approves ladies gentlemen he approves guys as you can tell there's completely different types of levels of Chef readers there's creatives there's non creatives there's you know all the fries that time oh oh is it true that you actually told Chef Ramsay to go hoop it the other day oh oh okay guys are cut ladies and gentlemen he is getting the starch out of the fries oh and stop touching my in France B's time all right so the gravy needs maybe just seconds more time the bacon is ready a lot to take some of the fries out you can tell it's DJ's first time making fries yes yes how bad do you want to add a side into that last look little guy DJ has gone all of his fries oats all right last guy wound all right DJ fries are done already got the cheese here the gravy is looking nice oh no no I didn't do go ahead and put it right here but we need the three of them I'm gonna bits all right guys the bacon bits are done David is hungry David are you gonna try some of this fruit in all right here's what I'm gonna do I'm gonna leer okay I don't have as much as I thought I did all right little bit of cheese in the right places oh all right I always I hate when you get your puts in and there's like no cheese at the bottom it's only at the top all that I'm gonna put a little bit of bacon here oh it's a like a layer in here ting man come on little bit of gravy hey that's pretty nice Friday oh the double layer boom more bacon why not never hurt anyone more cheese finish off that cheese oh okay like that DJ's added her rest of his cheese voila breathes hold that when two Americans like gravy yes they do of course this is surprisingly looks amazing oh my god mmm well look oregano and there you have it whoa Vijay has done come on man oh my goodness guys what do you think what do you think god yeah we have it we see the bacon bits we see the cheese melting already holy smokes DJ I'm ready to try this the first poutine of the day this is the base routine with some classic regular cheese curds some bacon and a little bit of oregano sprinkled on top this looks amazing the gravies hocks the cheese is melting let me do have a class invite of everything if you are new to eating poutine definitely go for your first bite with the cheese that is directly under the gravy per shirt I'm doing this hot thing too you should have a little more time melt up oh this is nice big nice the whole main booty case you know your parents are making old routine back in the day no surprise our hottest crispy there's no complaints over here from this show the need took them with half the cheese from the bacon as well beautiful shop of the dish it's good I like it chef DJ are you happy with the creation okay perfect chef deej time for your score guys it's time to score chef D just poutine I'm gonna go buy a few standards here the first one the taste the second one is like the prep level of difficulty all that other stuff so for the taste I'm gonna give this at eight point eight an attendant fool seemly delicious one thing that chef DJ it just ended up working out for him he was a little confused he was a little shocked at the start everything ended up working out somehow some way so for the level of difficulty this is just a standard routine with some bacon very solid very delicious though so we're gonna give that a 8.5 on on the execution because the fries ended up being a nice shape so we're giving this an overall score of an 8 point 7 an amazing style cook but there is room if one of these guys knocks it out of the park you can steal a show but if they don't it's easily a win for sure Wow yeah check these congratulations we're on to chef number two chef Dave as we had a preview of him with his amazing cutting skills and now I'm patting it dry your chance bring my fries mounds back to the bowl okay okay I'm now gonna bring it over to the stove in the freezer dave has ground beef going on here David what is the most order Putin that you've ordered as of late it's probably a double cheeseburger poutine a double cheeseburger poutine dave is now seasoning the ground beef classic salt and pepper that's all you can see with that you know let the gravy talk we have multiple types of gravy here they're all behind you what gravy will you be choosing for your poutine we got here we got turkey gravy okay we're not making a turkey so oh he just chucked it out completely okay so he cannot use that other guys this is the classic poutine in Canada from Sandy Barrett's a very popular restaurant here do you what a true chef does they test they tribe need Saudi pepper is a good well this Oh a little bit of salt adjustments ladies and gentlemen that's what life's about we are oh very nice and chilled you actually do look cold and chilly so now we're gonna just throw them into the oil but before we do that we are going to bring it here drop our pants and we're gonna do a stopwatch in they go oh that's the pot hogs right here oh don't want these wrong things okay do not want them oh and Giza has incredibly straight french fries thank you thank you he has been in a few cook offs now he is he's experienced dave has not what he's doing is just going with the flow I have a technique I know what's happening thank you oh wow all right David had a massive beef with that can of gravy but it is open now we're gonna put it just on a simmer because we're nowhere near done oh the shake the Conner shake all right now cool down we are gonna now double fry them so just leave my goodness you know because we don't want that oil to splatter right on our face and ruin our moneymakers miserable fried rice bubbling gravy some mine beeps have been done that for Friday oh this is a deep fryer okay so here's my case up for my bacon cheeseburger poutine we're just gonna put it oh maybe a hot cheese on it - nice little five seconds we're going to that heat it up but now we have chef jeans finished both potatoes look at this beautiful french fries Mario's very very well done all of smokes between I like his bigger prize and thinner prize yeah I have both and now I'm gonna be doing the mushrooms because I'm doing a breakfast routine other than just meat and beef and some bacon and some mushrooms on cilantro some of this sausage and eggs oh I've had it once in Montreal and fell in love with it whoa whoa ladies and gentlemen double fried french fries they look at these olden that close up oh it's okay look at that it's been here let it soak the oil out mmm and we will leave this residue oil for dr. G over there you're ready to plate oh nice unfortunately these cheese curds weren't not at room temperature but we can improve a bowl we're gonna grab a couple cheese curds put them a big mistake lifts gravy is you put too much baby and it soaks into the fries and become soggy grab this beef and sprinkle it onto the fries oh where our first where that's not very smaii okay grab our keys out of the microwave look at that whoa okay oh this is where that double cheeseburger boot in comes in handy the queso chili cheese fries presentation is also not too much we don't want the fries to lose their Christmas so now we have then Dave likes his cheese ha he put the sheet the gravy the chance actually enough I have made way too much meat okay I wanted to over can I do a little chef Dave inspiration to this dish of course Oh that's probably enough Oh cheeseburger okay guys we're gonna grab a little bit of this cheesecake oh okay okay this is everything you want bite these John bring it over here [Music] Oh guys TJ's trying now so guys we are glad you judge David's double fried double cheeseburger poutine the taste was amazing one thing I do wish like I said I wish the French fries are a little longer that's the one thing I wish about the taste I'm gonna give this case a solid eight point seven out of ten what's the level of difficulty the execution the amount of steps up the ledge although he was being weird when the cooking actually started he blanched yeah okay so he had double cheese's is so many different types of things but for that execution I mean even nine point three years Wow last but not least guys we have beef is pay me right now rather called me chef whoops Oh chef Hobbs it hurts me at chef Hobbs here you go guys guys guys this just in this you stole his potatoes in his mushrooms oh you're putting some sausage and some mushrooms in the boy oh okay oh okay can you see into birds say who bears brown gravy whoopsie see this I've never opened these you see my mom all right guys he is putting his gravy on here on the lowest possible simmer as you can see Lois back in the garbage all right my mushroom need to be brown I like Tom Brown you see how it's changing color yeah yes that's the nice mushroom you have this big up sausage it looks pretty funny yeah the sausage is nice all right guys he is chopping up over nice just a little opening to get it cooked from the inside really nice all right guys separated them up oh now they need to cook and we need to clean the knife because it touch the sausage he is going to salt before he pried from something no other competitor has done pull all the flavor up yes shaking them shake them shake them Oh guys you hear the thing sizzle over there I will say this he has the most amount of french fries out of his two potatoes he was very efficient oh and there they go in there folks the meantime yo and there goes okay there it goes David chef Dave has stolen his oh oh oh and gets a slap from his competitor oh and look at that the French fry it up nice and even like babies Dave yeah thank you good job no I need to win this one Oh comments and another one won't hook up see the mushroom is done the whole time you don't look they look very good to be honest they look very good I'll just make my cilantro a little smarter yes you're gonna chop that up nice okay whoa those are beautiful a nice and thin all righty what are you doing you're making some space for what I'm cleaning up so I can put my sausage the sausage there cook sauce oh right here on I chop their bean why do these look way better than these nurse yeah the whole side should get cut up now oh my god oh now that this is clean it's time to do the egg okay okay okay guys these fries well they're more crispy like this that's fine long and you nice and they're all even so they all cook the same okay I need my egg really quick time bro look how they were crispy you look beautiful they're so beautiful oh my god guys guys I did not expect this at a normal time it doesn't look like a machine that call we add the bunk a little bit of salt on top oh yes yes yeah it's a pepper Yee and now we wait a little bit yes the shake goes up these might be the best prize of the day oh wait wait wait he's doing an egg and egg to be on top of the booty and breakfast consists of an egg so okay hopefully it's gonna be a good beautiful head yes yes that's what I needed the perfect lick whole egg that's all I need this contour that's my final bowl Oh Giggy you're off the hook for a while the Roasters are coming watch you're adding the gravy and the cheese in the gravy oh it's a layer though it's a bedding he has an advantage he has the most fries of any contestant okay so he's going to remove that ha okay okay I will help you please don't panic you please stop this is called an oven mitt in a low key it handles a lot of hints oh baby the cilantro a little pepper and a little salt guys this is ghee a KA dr.
