What If Thor Went For the Head and Prevented the Snap?

here's the scene thanos is about to snap his fingers in infinity war thor swoops in and impales the mad titan with his awesome new thanos killing weapon we think the battle's over until we hear those dreaded words you should have gone for the head our blood runs cold then the entire mcu is changed forever with one snap all because thor wanted to gloat a little bit but what if things happened a bit differently what if thor did go for the head and thanos was stopped before he snapped his fingers what would the mcu in phase 4 look like if that was the case would tony stark still be alive would thor still be fat let's discuss right now we all love end game in its epic conclusion but let's pretend today that thor delivered the final blow against thanos at the end of infinity war before the mad titan could snap his fingers wouldn't that be a little anticlimactic a little bit considering everything that came after but it would definitely set up an exciting new timeline for the mcu let's just stick with infinity war for a second if thanos's head was separated from the body i would imagine the movie wouldn't just end there instead the movie's new epilogue would take place at none other than tony and pepper's wedding that's a happy thought right no doubt that would be the party of the century okay so here it is a few weeks after the final battle of wakanda things are more or less back to normal tony and spiderman are able to easily return thanks to doctor strange and the world is once again recovering from a massive alien attack after a beautiful ceremony where roadie is tony's best man and cap thor bruce and happy are his groomsmen the core avengers group meet up to discuss what's next it's clear cap and tony are still on uneasy terms but they're working on it at this meeting tony announces his epiphany he wasn't able to stop thanos on titan himself and realized two things from the encounter the first is that they almost lost because they weren't united and steps need to be taken so this can never happen again the avengers need to be able to assemble and due to a massive swing in popularity the superhero team can now operate on their own without government oversight tony asked steve to lead the avengers on earth from out of the shadows steve agrees but only if he can operate the team at a new home base within wakanda one of the new epicenters of the world which is something steve's already talked to t'challa about everyone agrees but while steve is leading the team what will tony do well tony has a new lease on life after everything that happened so he wants to officially retire as iron man but that doesn't mean he still won't help out he's been discussing with nick fury a way to make the avengers a cosmic thing so while steve is handling earth's business tony will be helping develop sword to unite the cosmos against major threats like thanos he'll make a joke about seeing the type of cosmic heroes that are out there like the guardians of the galaxy and suggest they really need some guidance just don't call them plucky this is good for both of their characters it allows tony to remain in the mcu but take a backseat to new heroes and captain america gets to continue to fight for what he believes in because yeah although it was really touching to see cap go back in time retire and be with peggy didn't that seem like a little out of character for cap he seems like a with great power comes great responsibility type of guy so seeing him in action for a little while longer makes some sense the other big character that would be a setup for major new adventure at the end of infinity war would be thor in endgame thor became the big thorbowski because he was depressed over failing to stop thanos so unfortunately it doesn't look like we're gonna be getting fat thor anymore unless thor is so overjoyed at stopping thanos and getting revenge against the monster that destroyed half of his people his brother and his best friend that he decides to celebrate by eating whatever he wants does that make sense story wise no not really but come on we all want to keep that thor in our lives anyway the ending of the new infinity war for thor will be similar to his endgame ending the remaining asgardians will be settling in on earth but he doesn't think he's capable of leading it anymore he steps aside for valkyrie to lead while thor embarks on an incredibly important mission to find a way to hide or destroy the infinity stones that makes a lot of sense he was the one who initially set out to find more information about the stones and even though that storyline was mostly drop in door ragnarok now that can come full circle a store can now be responsible for putting them in a place where they can never be used again it's necessary since keeping them all on earth would be incredibly dangerous let's just forget the fact that you could technically destroy the stones with the stones but now they don't want to risk using the gauntlet because they don't know the side effects with that the big three of the avengers get exciting new directions to go in phase four so with our new ending for infinity war what happens to the remaining movies in phase 3 and phase 4. well if the release order was still the same that means ant-man and the wasps would have been next up and nothing in the film's main plot would have changed the only true alteration comes at the end originally they had a post-credit scene that saw scott trapped in the quantum realm while everyone else turned to dust since that doesn't happen anymore the film would have to do with different tease we all know that ant-man 3 will most likely feature kang the conqueror so let's just make it the post-credits scene for ant-man and the wasp now teases his arrival this would not only excite kang fans everywhere but also lay the groundwork for the fantastic four to be introduced next up captain marvel's movie would have been released and this one would have also stayed mostly the same with its 90 set adventure but it's the post-credits scene that would really be a lot of fun originally nick fury beats captain marvel as everyone turned to dust but now there would be no need for that so here's the new post-credits scene captain marvel is off doing some special space stuff when she gets a beep on her pager she rushes to earth and instead of finding everyone turn to dust she finds nick fury and tony stark together and they want to talk to her about the new avengers initiative boom cut the black not only would that come full circle from the very first mcu post-credit scene with nick fury but it would also start the process of opening up the cosmic side of the mcu even more spider-man far from home is next and because now this is the final movie of phase three some major stuff has to happen right well when i say multi you say verse malty oh wait this is a video i can't hear you but anyway that's right the new final movie of phase 3 would jump start the multiverse and it would all rest on spider-man shoulders let's take a peek behind the curtain real quick because spider-man doesn't really have his dramatic death scene in infinity war this would cause the rift between sony and disney to happen much sooner and the solution would be that spider-man would be the anchor for the mcu and the sony verse and the really great thing is that the title gets to remain the same the movie would still be called spider-man far from home only this time he'll really be far from home as he gets sucked into the multiverse for an epic adventure that would see him cross paths with dom hardy's venom toby maguire spider-man and even the animated miles morales from spider-man into the spider-verse yeah this movie would be crazy the villain can still be mysterio but this time let's make it a reverse twist and have mysterio actually be a super-powered semi-magical multiverse hopping villain that spider-man has to overcome the really great thing is that the theme of this movie would stay the same originally far from home has peter grappling to live a life without his mentor and stand on his own which is exactly what the new far from home would do and come on doesn't that sound like an epic adventure to cap off phase three so with phase three set up in that way what would phase four look like well one of the first movies of phase four would definitely be a solo hulk movie hulk got the short end of the stick and end game with the movie glossing over his final character arc so it's only fair that the mcu hulk gets one proper solo movie to resolve the issues his character has been dealing with since phase one after that we'd get a fourth thor movie that's drastically different than the one we're going to get in thor love and thunder he could still be directed by taika watadi but this time it would follow thor on his adventure to destroy or hide the infinity stones and because a buddy team up worked so well for thor ragnarok let's do that again only this time let's team thor up with captain marvel that would work because of what we've already established in this new timeline captain marvel was called by fury and tony as a way to set up the cosmic side of the avengers and it would make sense that she would be included on the mission to hide the infinity stones given her power levels and game gives us an epic moment between these two strong avengers but since that doesn't happen now the best thing to do would be to put both of them in a movie together and let's be honest captain marvel hasn't met with the same level of acclaim as some of the other characters so maybe putting her in a more of a comedic role opposite at goofy thor would do a lot to endear audiences to her after that we'd get a black widow movie and good news since end game doesn't happen natasha doesn't wind up at the bottom of that cliff on vormir which means her spin-off movie could take place in the present day rather than the past so instead of being a peek at black widow's backstory the movie could be used to set up new threats in the mcu like taskmaster who could play a role in future installments of a new black widow trilogy down the line and then the two new movies in phase four that are scheduled shang chi and the eternals could still happen exactly as planned out but with some minor tweaks to accommodate the current state of the mcu phase four would still end up with doctor strange and the multiverse of madness which would tie back into the multiverse shenanigans that spider-man was getting up to in the new spider-man far from home and leading to an all-new avengers movie which would tie into the multiverse concept with whatever king the conqueror is up to and deliver us the greatest avengers team-up movie of all time oh i still have to talk about the disney plus shows i almost forgot this new direction would change everything on the television side wanda vision would just be about wanda and vision actually living in the suburbs living a peaceful life and oh wait i'm sorry i forgot vision died right before thanos tried to snap his finger so unfortunately he is still dead but at least the mind stone would survive which would make wanda vision more about wanda potentially trying to use the stone to bring him back if she's allowed to keep it the loki show on the other hand sorry loki fans there's no real way this show could happen at the moment but with the multiverse in play maybe loki could return in a few years the falcon and the winter soldier show would probably take a big hit too because the whole premise is about the new captain america but with caps still alive and baby-faced there'd be no need for the show unless the new falcon and winter soldier show is just a buddy comedy where sam and bucky open up a small restaurant in paris and try to run it together yeah i'd watch that show in a heartbeat that might just make all of this worth it well that and tony's
