What A Christian Should Never do | Jesse Duplantis | King's Cathedral Maui

have with us tonight a man who we've known for a long time how many years has it been 30 years he's been coming to mouth hallelujah and he's preached in our little chapel he's preached under us a tent that lead to be previously it's preached here and this and so we're just thankful that he's a friend of this house and a wonderful friend of my wife and I appreciate his ministry I've seen it grown to touch a world millions of people watch him on television all over the world and he's never lost his fire he's never lost his desire to see people saved would you welcome brother Jesse Duplantis as he that song I think I like it better in Hawaiian listen I said how do you put all them sounds together like it's just so nice what a blessing and an honor it is I guess that song should be sung in any language it's a blessing so I was an honor and a pleasure to come and I got to look at my paperwork and I and this is my 30th year here at King's first it was first assembly and and this and that tent did not leak that was a waterfall in that tent I use a surfboard when I was preaching the Lord was so good and gracious we had a marvelous time I was in Louisville Kentucky and I was talking of tebab and I remember he yeah well you had just so I did go back in memory a little bit I think I just sold the car dealership or something went back to that little church you know wherever that is across from the mall I think is that right and and Bob and Margaret was starving they ran out of money and they had come to a Maui and I didn't know it and he didn't know I was preaching but he decided would come to here gently I guess and he had only three dollars of something to get left and he said we decided we go eat at McDonald's the small burger you know I mean the really little in and when I came I saw Bob and the Lord told me to bless him and I bless him he said we are never gonna walk into a McDonald's again I'll never forget that always had some wonderful memories here and I mean that sincerely Catholic come up say a word this is my wife Kathy you already heard a preach a little bit Aloha every one of those 30 times I've been here right with him and he's done a great job I think I'm glad you let him come back because I get to come back to anyway we had a great time with the ladies but we just love this place we love the Morocco's the whole family's so very special to us they're like our family come to know you know we're there they're like what we call low maintenance friends that means even though we don't get to see them maybe if it once or twice a year we pick up where we left off that's godly relationships amen we're busy about the father's work doing the work of the kingdom we know that when we all get to heaven we're gonna have a whole lot of time to catch up and do all the fun things but tonight we're here in the presence of God and I'm expecting great things you're not here by any accident God brought you here so get your expectancy up high hallelujah know 50 I've been owner for 52 years and it's just amazing I was thinking about that I said my god men time don't wait for anybody so I told her I'll take you anywhere in the world wherever you want to go she said but you only give me two days what are you gonna do this guy I said no I will do some so this year I went into my evangelist department said and I cut out a couple of weeks I think it was that I said do not let me book this I said because I will not make 51 years she will kill me I gotta bring her somewhere hallelujah so we're gonna celebrate or d-day June the 6th you know and we're gonna be in Paris and all that kind of stuff is that we're gonna go to Paris praise the Lord and I like Paris I like museums and all that kind of stuff and it's such an honor so God is so good and gracious so thank you how many of you watch our television show thank you for doing that you should it causes millions of dollars you'll go to hell if you don't watch that show well no I didn't did I say that maybe I shouldn't have said that Caffe told me to say it No thank you for watching it or watch his own line last I preached at the church that I did 41,000 people were watching live so excited about this new book I've been wanting to write a book about the Christmas story for 40 years but the Lord would never let me Christmas is my favorite time of the year I don't celebrate New Year's fact I don't wait for it to go over to the New Year normally the fireworks wake me up I just go to bed you never have been on what I call a New Year's person but Christmas that's a whole nother ballgame and anyway and when I shop because I shop on Christmas Eve all the time and the reason for it is because most people got their stuff so people ain't going crazy in the mall you don't say it so and I like to go in the mall and look at the Christmas trees and all the lights and I was in the mall and there was this one fix this for me way I was like I was lights in the mall and this song was it's the most wonderful time of the year and I'm just kind of bouncing around and all that kind of stuff and the Lord said you can go home and write that book you've been wanting to for 40 years but I X about that mall as fast as I could and I came up with this and it's you know I'm preached on the Christmas story so I view it for how many years Lord we do it every Christmas but this is not just about the Christmas story this is about the characters that God used to get Jesus on the ground now I want you listen to me Jesus would have never been born in Bethlehem the prophecy would have never come to pass you don't take a nine month pregnant woman put it on a donkey and go 110 miles won't happen unless Caesar Augustus tell you to do it because if you don't he'll kill you he's interested in making taxes and I this character God used him to get Jesus to Bethlehem so that prophecy would come to pass the unconscious obedience of the unbeliever see God speakings a lot of believers in doing it so God used an unconscious unbeliever to get Jesus to Bethlehem think about that now that's a character most people never think God would use and that's my favorite one then he had John the Baptist as a forerunner Lord you wouldn't pick John the Baptist he too hippie looking he'd do crazy look at and say he was the first full run of Christ who's the second forerunner you are with a second full run with the body of Christ we will be ushering in his coming please God that's what such a blessing of the Lord and I just really loved that and let me tell you something man and then the Magi oh why would God use the scientist and their strongest of that day because he couldn't get one rabbi to go to Bethlehem they say where is he was born King of the Jews they said Bethlehem that's only six miles from Jerusalem and yet the Magi the Weizmann could not get one rabbi or Jew to go with him their worship and they were the first people to ever give to Jesus's ministry why didn't he as scheppers do that they had the blessing of Abraham on them yet there was broke as a junkyard dog why yet God used the Magi or the agenda of us the dogs who let the dogs out who think about that that's why God said that that angel said he would be for all people and that's something now Mary how do you talk about Mary what I'm talking about the virgin birth I didn't talk about it you haven't knows there's that mmm the virgin birth is not mentioned in Matthew Mark Luke or John or in the epistles why is that because they were protecting Mary they'd have killed her at 80 years old Joseph thought about killing and Gabriel had to stop him you didn't do that back NIM days now think about that John the Baptist you know what them babies were talking to each other in the womb Jesus in Mary's womb and John and Lisbon when he said will feed with the Holy Ghost right way y'all and Mo john-boy he just got feeling and baby talking to each other it's an amazing book I bought bunches of them myself then Jesus how do you put Jesus in a baby farm when he's the king of kings rose the shared lily of the valley bright morning sir you got to get this I'm gonna move this in Christmas in July I'm gonna talk about it all year long because you see it it's uncommon lessons from the Christmas story that's the base of but it's the different characters and you may find yourself in one of those characters I like that Caesar Augustus the unconscious obedience of the unbeliever you need to get this this came out November the 15th sold out in two weeks we filled it back up solar it glory which one you're gonna believe then Jesus says this and the next thing if you shall ask anything in my name it's in red what we're gonna believe the red stuff this is called yo everything is his anything this is soda I don't know how many times I have a lot of best-selling books all over the world I hope you can get this because let me tell you something the church is taught you agreed when they should have taught your glory they made you give me an example how many you want a new house don't lie lift your hand up you want a new house come on holy a Honda or a new vehicle is that a whatsoever is that a whatsoever is that a anything on your best day you can't impress God but your wealth you don't care what you live in the church does the secular world does but God does it what you're gonna do when you get to heaven and you see a pearly gate you're gonna tell Jesus you know why'd you build that pearly gate you could have used that money to feed the children in Africa you know we're gonna tell you you don't like this place go to hell oh now that's not custom in Louisiana that's a location no you can't blame God for children starving to death if you go to Iowa where they just messed up on the caucuses the all the silos are full of corn they got corn on top the ground but if you don't have money to buy it you starve to death see God caused this planet to produce enough food to feed every woman every man every boy and every girl man's inhumanity to man has caused that to happen you need to get this this will help you your everything is is anything else back there and then cathy has a book back there that I like how to behave in a cave it's what you do in the cave that gets you out of it how to behave in decay can you believe something cathy has now about this sure I love a church that has a vision we have a vision air conference that's coming up in March this thing is getting so big from Moscow people I mean coming from all over all bringing their staffs and everything and I don't talk about my vision I don't at all I'll talk about the vision God has placed on the body of Christ they're going the world and preach this gospel they ever creature I want to talk tonight about the dumbest thing a Christian can do there's about this dumb and there's stupid that you can get a God who's willing to do anything for you I have to read and I like the old King James Version I want to start reading four verse 37 of Psalm 78 for their heart was not right with him neither way they steadfast in his covenant but he being full of compassion forgave their iniquity and destroyed them not yay many a time turned his anger away and did not stir up all his wrath for he remembered that they were but flesh a wind that passeth away and come not again first forty how off did they broke him in the wilderness in grieve him in the desert yeah they turned back and tempted God and limited the Holy One of Israel the dumbest thing you can do is to limit God in your life whether it be spiritual whether it be physical whether it be fun financial you will never choose all these goals if you limit God you gotta believe that you you serve an unlimited God blessed in a city blessed in the field bless going in and bless gonna every area now when you say that they just think about money you do live in a money society money is the fuel that you burn in an economic society that's just common sense takes money to keep the lights on takes money to finish that building takes money to build that place in Alaska takes money and there's nothing wrong with that unless you fall in love with it because it's a fuel that you use to burn in the economic society let me make this amount my god is not broke far from broke he's al-shahid el cheapo do you understand what I'm saying he owns more than a cattle on a Thousand Hills he owns four hundred billion galaxies with 400 billion planet moons and stars in each one of them that's all we are that's all thing we can see and then he owns all of space and everything and all the universe now we're talking about multiple universe ladies and gentlemen why would you limit a god that is unlimited I mean Israel saw that that mountain smoking the Red Sea opened my god man man a bread falling from the ground Lord gee quail twenty four miles long four foot thick and yet they provoked him and angered him but yet he was in His mercy he didn't stir up his wrath to the point but they should have been all destroyed why would you limit I got people getting mad at me because I serve an unlimited God I've been coming here thirty years am I correct that in this church if I wasn't have you ever saw me sad sick depressed discouraged despondent broke why because you think I got more faith than you know because I refuse to limit God when God says all things are possible to them that believe it not some things but all things so write this down if you're taking notes inadequate thoughts of God produce narrow ideas of him see the reason why you're doing what you're doing the Germans because you don't have narrow ideas of him you don't have inadequate thoughts of him I mean most me and Jim I'm about six months older than Jim now you know most of the people that we started out with are dead broke sick not retired just barely existed yet my god I bet you Jim's thinking what other place can I go while he's sleeping what else can I do why because we don't have any inadequate thoughts of him people say you can't go to the world oh I can do all things through Christ who strengtheneth me that's what Jesus said that's not arrogance that's not that's not cockiness that's confidence and assurance so inadequate thoughts of God producing our ideas in them see doubt makes unbelief your interest write that down doubt makes unbelief your interest and I'm not interested in doubt no see anxious care and foreboding limits God the Bible said be careful for nothing I don't care about anything I was telling that the kollene in the back people say he don't care about nothing you right you better know you right why cuz care is a form of pride you saying God can't handle your business so you got to take it back from him worry about that kind of stuff but Rogers I'm struggling with booze and I'm struggling with liquid with drugs you know why cuz you still care about it you gotta cast it off you gotta say it don't come away from you easy you got to rip it off you got to throw it away from you it'll try to get up another so I don't care about that I care about what's lovely just good report pure virtuous I think on these things somebody shout somebody you see I refuse to live in every area of my life so when you limit God you produce littleness of life when you limit God you produce littleness of life and meagerness of power I never forget all those years ago Jim said Jessa come help me I wanna I want you to help me we're gonna have we're gonna have some revivals in the tent I called it the canvas Cathedral you know like Billy Graham did way back when you know I think Billy didn't have holes in his we had holes in our back this year they had to live with more money I guess they simply regard people back no but mark I said okay and I just came and we just believed my luck why because we could see something happening here see something but we had seen it with the natural eyes you must see first with the spiritual eye once you see with the spiritual eyes and the evidence of faith is not seen you know that it will soon come into seen when you walk and live in the spiritual eye not the natural eye you see when you limit God you produce littleness of life and meagreness of power I bet people all the time said who do you think you or I mean it's so mad about me all I'm doing is healing the sick getting people saying blessing them in the city bless them in the field my god and I raise the dead every Sunday morning I've been to some dead church and I'm gonna let you know hundreds of them stood up and God Steffie if you understand what I'm saying so when you understand I refuse to limit God you can't have that they tried to limit me y'all heard it so it's what three or four years ago that I had four Jets and I'm some rich preaching all this comic raises the ladies and gentlemen if I got four jets I need to make a theft report the three of them are missing if I find him now give you one Jim like they live like a dog but that didn't limit me I made up my mind God's Word is true and ladies and gentlemen I just put in the seed in the ground no more than a week and a half ago a twenty million dollar jet if you bought it brand new cost you twenty million I gave it away and ladies and gentlemen I flew a new jet Allu you Maui somebody shout somebody now you're a my making you mad I'm gonna make you matter that's just the interim one my god of delta can have a fleet why can't we well I lost the feel you let me go over here do you hear what I'm saying you hear what I'm saying my god you better believe with this man you know I mean how many three ten thousand people just in Maui how about 120 so how many churches in 300 my god even past 120 I think next year to be 5,000 who knows why not it should be we got 7.5 billion people on this planet and 2.3 billion Christians we don't have enough Jim Morocco's we need people believe in decree and declare he said go to the world and preach the gospel to every creature not some but you can't do it that limiting God are y'all enjoying this mmm when you limit God you produce littleness of life and ignis of power see prayer comes to nothing when you limit God to time or you limit God to manner or you limit God to means yes it costs a lot of money to do this it takes millions a month to run my ministry but I don't worry about do I look worried no and all these years that I have a charge you Jim I don't charge any church we're not going with you how much money it cost to fly that jet I don't know cuz he didn't ask me to pay for it he asked me to believe for it and I've been believing and believing and believing and now I know in whom I have believed and I'm persuade don't get mad at me see I don't need a building like this Jim needs a building like this needs one like that Alaska what I need is a plane to preach the gospel that's my church do you understand what I'm saying God's Word is true in every area so I don't let me go how can they go to Hilo it's a circle small places when one souls worth more than a whole world let me give an example I did a tour last year not decided me and Kathy if you flew around the planet earth is twenty four thousand eight hundred and forty miles me and Kathy flew in 13 or 14 13 days twenty four thousand and eighty miles preaching every day sleeping on the plane like a horse with one leg up and going didn't charge a person then charge a church just simply received an offering now those wonderful pastors man they said oh but listen we're gonna no you're gonna go in a hole and I said I just smiled I'm trying to be nice you know I said I don't live life mega dose of power I'm not better than you are just decided to read this Bible and not limit the Holy One of Israel God told me to go so I went but I won't tell you what's happening here but I got there looking at the budget in terms of food bringing people you know and hotels and whew you're looking at 150 to 180 thousand dollars to do that to just just I think $150 in fuel or whatever it was and food everything well you know and iris receipts they make a lick of difference when I face the pastor's coming says oh I know you my God if you got ten fifteen thousand that'd be like that's a lot of money because it's not like America my offering was three hundred and seventy two thousand dollars somebody shouts somebody and guess what I did I left I glory to God you don't limit God they said how could he do that I didn't all I did was not limit the Holy One of Israel one lady gave one hundred fifty thousand dollars I said okay all I was concerned about was doing what God told me to do well suppose that wouldn't work I don't live and suppose it don't work subdivision I don't don't complicate this I'm like a child children are born believers until you teach them to doubt my newest books coming out in July you know the name of it is I never learned to doubt I know nothing about doubt nothing zero look at y'all see it's almost unbelievable but believe the unbelievable receive the impossible because it's doable why because he will do what he says see believing in God is not a lifestyle of fits and starts when I'm gonna try it you don't try nothing I didn't try to marry Kathie I did that's why we're gonna be married 50 years sometimes you don't feel married but look at that woman you are told it what you feel your feet your kids don't feel like going to school but they're going your husband may not feel like going to work but you won't make sure he does you see you have to understand that there's no limitation at all in a God who is unlimited so I refuse to unlimited to limit him in any way shape or form never limit God to Sunday or Sunday observances people sometimes people on time they praise Sunday and Sunday up services I don't limit gone for that let me just say this if anybody loves sports I love sports but I don't put it ahead of God see the NFL took God's day don't shout me down when I'm preaching good then if L took God's day they stop playing remember years ago when we were growing up Jim your name football on Sundays you had on Saturday Sunday was was set for God's day even the malls were closed no no mo hmm and that amazing see so you don't limit God to Sunday or Sunday of services see so I made up my mind that I would do something that I don't I don't maybe I love preachers that in 44 years I've been preaching 44 years I've been in full-time ministry 42 years and I've never had a financial deficit that's unheard of brother that's unheard of you know not because I've got more faith than you that's not true but I might have a little more obedience thank you for that whole egos grunt say you should be shouting you you going to a church this that don't believe in limit didn't God just want to touch the world I go to a lot of church the dippity who barely get out their subdivision much less touch the world you see what I'm saying you got a pastor in a passive way that likes to work that's all they do they live eat breathe and sleep this stuff supposed to think what Jim's gonna do when he gets to heaven all right Jim I want you going over there and I want you to take him to galaxies over there I'll put a church on every one of them planets that's a wonderful thing you see what I'm saying you never limit God the Sun till Sunday observances why because unlimited God is not simply worship but it's life and that more abundantly Bob said she can give life to the full till it overflows you see till it overflows I've had many opportunities as a failure I just don't take any people's always tell me what I can't do I already know that you don't need to tell me let me tell you what I can do I can do all things through Christ who strengtheneth me can't you understand that if God could use a man like Caesar Augustus what can you use you mmm truth is never finished or completed it is living growing and ever expanding if Jesus are the way you can't get lost if he's the truth you cannot be deceived and if he's the life the devil can't kill yet see truth is ever-expanding it is living growing and ever-expanding it's completed you know I've been married to Kathy gonna be fifty years I've been I've been doing it for 52 years I thought I knew everything about this woman live breathe living well one thing is when menopause kicked in that blew my socks off I heard about that but you know what I'm I don't know that's what him I got to make the sign of the Cross with you brother if you have not experienced it your day is coming when she's a beautiful one just break into a sweat and the husband said what's the matter shut up okay you know what menopause mean men pause that's what that mean buddy look at Koli look at the gym I thought Kevin says cut it cut it but thank God we got through that now if she breaks out in a sweat I don't care I don't say nothing not have you learned now here's another one I didn't know this until about a month ago I haven't known this one girl long I met her at 15 years old you know she is she that's how old she is anyway I read in the Bible Abraham bought a tomb no I'm I'm you know Jesus Terry's will be buried so I bought a place I bought a tomb or actually it's called the couch we want to be comfortable when we did we bought this place now you know you get to talking about that stuff and I said huh she said you know Jesse if I go before you I wouldn't mind you getting remarried I looked at her and I said well to tell you the truth I don't think I'll now you don't know what you're gonna go through if that happens but I don't think I ever will cuz I got so much work to dodge just keep preaching more now I wouldn't I was about ready to get a revelation I hadn't seen that I didn't think Kathy would have ever thought up before I met Kathy I was engaged to a girl okay this is way before I ever met her alright so you know and would it be if we got married we have been divorced in six months I mean just the way it was yesterday well watch this so she said you know she said yes I really if you something if I went first I wouldn't care if you got remarried but you better not married a girl he was engaged to our I'll come down from heaven and beat your stick and rain down I thought what did you say you remember her I wonder if you knew her or not I'll just tell you you better knock whoa I said I was shocked I said who makes you say that because she had your heart and I went yeah she did but that was kids you don't say but I never thought that she just looked that big one so long just go so ladies and gentlemen if Jesus there I'm dying first still ain't going through that clothing I'll just go home be with the Lord though and you bet not married man's feet and spend all my money - I just want you to know I just never thought you would even think about that guy do you know how long ago it was but that's she you never know the secret of a woman's heart you may think you know everything but there's certain compartments in that lock and key look at these ladies truth is never finished or completed it is living it is growing its ever expanding seek setting limits to God's power in your mind is a lack of faith you never limit his wisdom why because it's infinite you never limit his power for its own impotent you never limit his mercy for it as high as the heavens you never limit his time because he's sovereign he doesn't walk by our rules he performs his word and will reward those that diligently seek Him who don't want it yesterday we American you know we get mad at Wendy's and they spend more than 30 seconds fixing a burger right but you know let me take some my time it's actually a wonderful thing I was telling Jim my favorite year of my life I've said it all my life was when I was 16 god I love 16 because my momma got off my case it was a great day cuz my dad told my mom and that boys becoming a man just leave him alone momma's I ain't getting over that boy's case but you know I had a little bit of dads power so I could use it but I had to change that about a couple of months ago I'm 70 and a half right now my greatest year of my life is 70 years old when I hit 70 it has just been a blessing of God I have my ministry growing crazily I mean we blessed in the city blessed in the feel blessed going in blessed going out my look I don't know how many preachers like me that's when it's 30 years every year to a church some fun I just came back from a church it was my 39th straight year I don't know anybody doing this I'm not bragging about that why we understand covenant I mean I saw Jim's children grow up I saw Josh had a little boy I saw Jamie man is the little girl I saw Jenna barely busting a teenager I may be told you know huh oh I shouldn't ask how are y'all oh okay that's what I'm talking you never know the secrets of their heart I did that on purpose I just did that on purpose anyway there was little Dave they was real little I asked coldly no she was and she just told me and I ain't telling you neither cuz I just figured it out there the other one that stuff he didn't mean it and you know what time never waits for anybody and I've seen their children and the grandchildren what a blessing of God to see that you see what I'm saying and when they get around when my granddaughter gets around me I only have one daughter one granddaughter there are no limits I'm ill shad I'm dad that's more than enough and she knows that fact she asked me one time she said how much money you got and where is it grandfather I want to see it I said why do you want to know that she said you said everything you have belongs to mama and me I said that's right everything I've ever worked for it belongs to your mama Jodi and you I said a little girl let me help you I'll tell you this much you gonna be 12 years old in two weeks she looks 15 which we don't like we don't like that you know because I mean I just don't like it I wanted to stay little but that's not a fact we starting to see the puberty stuff kicking which I hate my daughter come she said added your man of God I said yes I am can you stop this I said no I can't I would love to but I can't but I told I said you'll never have to work a day in your life I said your grandfather's taking care of that when let me tell you something little girl you're gonna work this is a family that works do you understand that we work that's what we do she said okay I see you want to work at the ministry yeah now when I was her age she could have went to work at the minister can't do that now because you have to be what 16 or something like I have to go to work theater miners miners permit or something I don't know how that work when I was a kid I was working full-time at 12 years old actually at 11 years old so when you understand that see why would you limit a god that's John had financial trouble Apostle Peter had financial trouble then ma'am I studied Jesus's life he didn't have financial trouble who needs a boat when you can walk on the water but he had his own personal boat he had his own personal house the Bible says in Ephesians chapter five verse one follow me as I follow Christ be here therefore imitators of God as dear children actually their original renders and be there for him so I decided to imitate Jesus life on the financial area and you know why Paul had financial trouble because he didn't receive from people because he was Trani you know we got this often I want to make sure everything's fine he said what I love about the Bible is it shows you great successes but it also shows you the failures why so you don't put I don't know crowns on people's heads they just like me and you working out our salvation with fear and trembling just like you were so I followed Jesus when it comes to finance he didn't have it he fed 5,000 people with a Bible well while we're doing that you want to take out healing too well I said I said you want to take our salvation what does he want check out I said forgive but I just say he said you know when I came to the earth what did I do he said I pick 12 disciples and then I pick seven a part time to go out so he had 82 people that work for Jesus of Nazareth evangelistic association he took care of want what else you you got to pay for a blessing you just receive it so I saw this young the young girl I said you know yes I said thank you for Kathy Reichs to sit by this rail I don't care where I said you know man but Kathy like she loves to look at the ocean she said yes they look at the ocean you know what I said it's water I'm throwing over many times just water but whatever I said hey from the top of the head to the soles of their feet symptoms of old age so they can get back their brightness and that good step in their walk lord thank you for the young people that Lord you stir up their hearts that just grow larger and bigger for Jesus Christ if there's someone here that's not saved lord I ask you to forgive them I sure could use another brother and another sister in the Lord thank you Lord Jesus for saving people we believe with our heart we confess with our mouth Jesus rose from the dead will say that simple Lord and yet that profound Lord let us never again ever limit
