codingphase.com good morning okay web developer mornings okay what's really good guys hopefully you guys are doing great i'm doing amazing woke up in a really good mood today um today we are going to start a new project a new course for codingface.com um we're going to be doing a shopify application today okay so that's what we're going to be working on today um the application is actually going to be a faq application uh for those of you guys that don't know what faq is it's pretty much it's like uh yeah i was seeing those accordion uh accordion uh questions where a person could click on on on a question right and then from there it opens up the answer below it so after doing research that's one of the most uh downloaded applications on shopify uh app apps right in the store and what we're gonna do is we're gonna be actually building it okay uh because again i wanna give you guys projects that you guys can actually make some money with um and also to show you with a project that's simple you know all of the things that you could do within shopify okay so this application again is going to be using node.js we're going to be using mysql we're going to be using react um and of course we're gonna be using shopify uh to connect it and put it on the store all right but don't get it twisted yes it's a simple app but this is what you need right it's a simple application to get you started so you can understand how to work with uh the shopify apis how to work with things like web hooks and things like that uh that comes with shopify apps all right uh the first thing that we're gonna be doing is we're gonna go over all of the basics of shopify so basically uh we're gonna talk about you know um how to be able to create uh app blocks so app blocks are a way for you to create like an application and then the user can drag that app block and put it anywhere they want so this app that we're building is actually perfect for it because let's say for example somebody wants to have a you know a faq session inside of their front page they can take our application and put it in there they could also go in and put it under the products so you ever seen that when you go to a store and it tells you okay uh this faq or this accordion that's there by product section where it could say okay uh what's the return policy what's the um how how how many days would it take for uh shipping to get there um what else what is the materials made you know what's the product made from like what type of materials so they can reuse that same uh faq or let's say let's call it accordion right they can reuse that on that section they could also put it on its own page on the faq page they could also put it on the about page they could put it anywhere so we're going to be using app blocks for that um another thing that we're going to be doing is within our application we're going to allow the user to create multiple faqs so it's not just one right it's not just going to be like well this one is just for let's say for example this you create one and then that's it it's gonna be uh allowing the user to create multiple of them now the way how shopify apps work is like this you actually have shopify the website and then you have your application which is a full stack application um on a separate server and then from there within shopify it communicates with your application and it embeds it within the shopify platform so think of it like an iframe where you could just go in and take you know take uh take this application and and just embed it within the the website itself within a iframe okay um so that allows you to basically create this application that seems like it was actually built inside of shopify but in reality it's hosted on another server another website now from there when you create a faq right the way how we're gonna do it i'm giving you the whole uh game plan right we're gonna have multiple tables right there's gonna be a table for the users there's gonna be a table for uh basically the stores slash users uh a table for um the faq right you know maybe we'll call it accordion i don't know yet but we'll call it faq accordions so let's call it according so we're gonna have a table for the accordions right now in that accordion we're gonna have a title for it we're gonna have uh when was the date you know when was it created at when was updated at okay uh who was the user or the store that actually created that faq and then from there we're gonna have another another place where we're gonna have um another table where it's going to have let's say call it questions right so we're going to say questions and there's going to be a questions title and then the questions description so the questions title is going to be like the title of the question so let's say for example uh shipping right the click on shipping and then that's gonna be the title now the description is gonna be the area where the user can actually you know answer the question that the person is is um is asking for so then from there like once we connect everything we're gonna using probably i don't know um vanilla javascript all right and um and that's pretty much it you can have yours on your website and then from there with shopify shopify will go in load up your script that is on your servers and then once you have your script on your servers then it's gonna you know run that script that script is gonna connect to the database it's gonna look at which store it is that is uh searching for this script then from there it's gonna say okay uh which question or which faq is it looking for once it finds the faq the faq is gonna find the title it's gonna find the the answers for it and then from there it's gonna go in with that script and generate the the faq you know put in the html css and load it up okay so it seems like a simple project but there's a lot of moving pieces and shopify is actually not that hard right even with the documentation you could get very far but the problem with the documentation is it really doesn't teach you how to think like a shopify developer right it gives you all of the technical jargon it gives you all the technical uh things about shopify apps and it gives you like you know information about what you can do but it doesn't teach you on how to put all of these things together right so this is why it's important to have a course like this you know because to be honest like once you are experienced once you have been creating apps it's easy to come in and be like start building your own but a course like this is needed for beginners like you guys because you know you need somebody to explain to you how to think like a shopify developer you need to to think about what type of problems you can solve with shopify apps and that's what we're going to try to tackle in in this whole course we're going to go in we're going to look at how many people are actually using this type of application so basically show you guys how to do the research on figuring out what type of applications you should build and then from there we're going to go in show you guys all of the things that you can do with shopify apps which is pretty much the beginning of the course and then after that at the end we're gonna go in and actually build a shopify application you know how to do it right i come in i give you everything that you need to know about i the language the framework the platform and then from there we actually built a solid project that you can put in your portfolio at the end okay so let me see what's really good uh who's in here let's see who's in here we got kw mohammed vincenzo uh don music rakesh patrick johnson who else is in here uh patrick johnson said i just dropped it like i like in youtube is saying i'm the only one where they at yeah make sure you guys give this a like if you don't give this a like uh you know youtube is not gonna notify anybody else el chorizo says what's up everyone the man says this is really live yes it's live bro uh let me see daryl dolphin says faq schemers are i heard are good for seo i heard but haven't tested it yet yes um patrick you thought let me see okay w anyone in here in in on the email death path currently applying yeah there's probably a lot of people in here doing that right now ai what up cam trail says what's up joe my job sent me a new laptop it was much needed hey congrats that's good that's good to have a a good company that takes care of their employees sup fam um muhammad says yo listening while code a mobile app template nice joe do you put xc course in youtube joe do you put the etsy course in youtube no i don't have an etsy course i don't have an etsy course not yet i mean we're leaving that for later on later on in the year and that's actually pretty simple to do but right now we're not doing that um because in reality there's a lot of resources and even etsy like you don't really need a course for etsy like to be honest with you if you ever post it on facebook if you ever post it on anything like it's the same thing it's like you got a cms you you go and you sign up dms you either choose if it's a digital product if it's a physical product you put in you know shipping information etc it's just like anything like you could just follow along with what it has and and you should be good you know so you don't really need a course for something like that i mean if i was to do one it would be more for like you know how to prepare a product how to prepare like a digital product to be sold in this platforms so that will work with etsy that we'll work with you know team four is it will work with template monster you know it's just more about preparing your your files to you know to be able to be consumed by masses right you want to have a documentation you want to have a place where they could contact you if they get stuck right maybe you want to go in and provide an extra service like for example if somebody says well um the theme costs fifty dollars but we will install it for you for another 50. you gonna sing uh joe is php better for shopify private apps it depends right so i have both courses right now coding face right so we have the php course that you can do shopify apps you also have this new uh we have a node.js course but it's the way how it was done before now with shopify apps uh you can do the cli and it's a little bit better um but that's what i'm doing a new course for it uh just to update the the node.js section of it you know because it's a lot of people that they want to use like javascript to build their applications but you can definitely build it with php php i think it's easier because you have so many packages and so many tools that's already created out there with node.js you're pretty much in the wagua west like shopify does provide you with a lot of things with the new cli but you're really in the wild west in the sense of you you have to build everything from scratch right because there's not that many packages i mean there's probably is but they're not like it hasn't been like industry standards it hasn't been like the whole community say hey this is what we're using because everybody wants to build their apps their own way everybody who does no gs you know that by now node.js is kind of of a [ __ ] because people build things however the hell they want to build it you know like i could go in and teach you guys how to build an application with node.js but i can guarantee you that when you start building your own application you're going to build it your own way you get what i'm saying um let me see i just smith said i just had a recruiter hit me up on email death job on linkedin nice uh how are you man i'm pretty good matthew says joe how hard is it to learn next next is pretty easy bro if you know node.js and you know like react js like you good okay matthew nice that's what you're going after do you recommend selling html css websites as digital products yes so if you look on my shopify theme developer course in there i show you how to use next js to generate the files so you can go in and and use next js create the html css and then from there export it and it will export even though you're doing it with jsx which is like the react way of doing things it will export your files for shopify or for you know basically the static files html css let's just keep it simple it will export that and then from there with those files you could go in and sell that by itself then you could also sell the next.js template that you have for yourself you can sell that you could go in and take those same components and put it within a gatsby platform right with the gatsby framework and then you could sell that right because it's the same thing it's just using gatsby it's just using you know the components you created and using gasping so it's the exact same thing then from there you could go in and um create you know with those static files that you have you could connect it to laravel like a liable application and then you could sell that as a liable template then you go in and you could take the same html css files connect it to uh next ges and you can sell that like i said you could go in connect it to woocommerce and you could sell that as a woocommerce so in reality like with one template you could go and create you know five six different platforms you know and sell all of them and you know somebody asked me i forgot what was his name um he told me he already has some some templates he's selling on template monster he was asking me if it was a good idea to create create new themes out of the theme that he already has instead of creating the same theme but for different platforms okay so he was asking me that and i'm like you could do that of course you could do that you could definitely take like the let's say for example if you build like a shopify theme you could go ahead and take the styles that you have for that shopify theme and just change it around put new different images right i've seen this done plenty of times where people have the exact same same um you know the same sections for a shopify theme and all they do is change the images and then change the the the way how the fonts look right maybe change uh the order of how they have the sections on the home page so you can definitely do that for sure a hundred percent you could definitely go in and just reuse that same theme and just change the pictures and change the styles let me see react is probably a better way to go you just have to understand components components of separation and concern angular is the same way yeah joe i forget but can a person sell wix templates that are already made modified yeah there's a way to do it i'm not gonna say i know exactly the the way on on how to do it there's a way because i keep seeing people selling wix templates right but i haven't i haven't dove deep enough on on wix to understand how is it that they're doing it because wix has has a uh like a drag and drop builder so i gotta look into to see how how is it that they're they're able to do it um so but that's why i haven't really you know worked on wix like that um because i focus more on the app section excuse me i focus more on the app sections for wix than on the theme sections but there's definitely a way because if you look on on etsy search wix you're going to see that there's people selling it the people selling their their wix templates which to me i'm like that should look hot and you know it's cool that they're [ __ ] making money but i'm trying to figure out how is it that they do it i know they they that wix has its own uh way of creating creating like customized themes but again it's a drag and drop uh page builder so it's it's a little bit you know it's a little bit weird so you just got to go through the see the the documentation a little bit more i mean i just i haven't had the time to go through everything in there let me see i had a seo startup hit me up for react next death i haven't used next yet so right just apply like if you know react you're good to go am i the only one that feel php syntax is hard to read nah you're bugging php syntaxes is not hard to read at all the only thing that php has that's different from from like javascript if you understand javascript php only differences is with php variables you have a dollar sign right um what's another thing too so you know how you have objects and and you could go and get the the the properties from a object so like i said you got an object and then you have the property uh it's title and then you get the value from it right and to get that you say uh user or let's say post right post that title will give you back the value of title of that post right so in php the only difference is that it will be in the syntax looks a little bit different so you will have to use like an arrow to get the the information out of this thing in that same but it's pretty much the same [ __ ] uh chemtrail says i have two things so far but i'm still implementing things to them that is everywhere nowadays do you know the why i think wicks have many different options slow jeez okay shout out to skeleton hey ellison throwing me some yang how you do that are you how is that possible how can you today's like from the u.s i'm gonna give you some rupees i'm gonna give you some yang a thousand yang thank you skeleton skeleton is the the biggest supporter here in in coding face history i think super chess skeleton has like probably like 250 300 dollars that he's he's thrown over the years so i appreciate it you know because i get the in my in my obs it shows the the people that have given the most and skeleton is number one so thank you skeleton i appreciate it it's been a while too you're in japan for real i didn't know you was in japan mr patrick johnson said sounds like you're doing good things the whole capitalization and php sometimes get me that is the only thing that i can see yeah php is not that bad php is actually pretty good if you're using a framework i don't like php to be building things like if i was to be like yo vanilla php like i don't want to be building with another php projects like like i'm like yo i'm going to build this [ __ ] from scratch and like i don't want to do that not php right i would do that with javascript right i would do that with ruby but i'm not doing that [ __ ] with php like i use php for lago only right um but for me to be building stuff like on php like now php is not it's not the language for me when it comes to that but i do use it for laravel like again i think laravel is a great tool an amazing tool to build things super fast like you could build a whole application on a weekend like you can't do that in most other frameworks same thing with ruby on rails but ruby on rails to me feels like a little bit outdated compared to um php laravel so that's why i don't use ruby on rails no more also too ruby and rails is a [ __ ] headache to use on windows um so i just don't use it period i mean even even connecting like the shopify cli is a headache because they use ruby which i don't understand like in this day and age if you're building a cli the best cli that you can build is gonna be built with node.js like build that [ __ ] with just straight up javascript because node.js can work on every platform it's super easy to install on windows super easy to install on linux super easy to install on on a mac if you're using ruby you're basically saying [ __ ] you guys figure it out that's what that's what they're saying to you right um because on windows is a headache right you could have a different operating system this [ __ ] could work but wsl1 wsl 2 doesn't work like it's a headache so if you're building something hey i don't know why they did that but if you're building an application you have to build the application and if it's a cli application build that [ __ ] with node.js bro and i don't know why they didn't do that on on shopify and i understand why i mean they're a ruby shop their whole platform is built on ruby and rails they're they're like one of the first companies that start using ruby on rails um but again it's one of those situations where it's like yo bro we in 2021 building cli applications well it's like pretty much making life difficult for everybody else and it's like a cli is supposed to make the life easier for the person that's what you're building right it's a cli so people could come in run some commands and make their life easier but if you're using ruby now you're giving them now you're giving them a [ __ ] problem of how to install this does it work with my system what do i need to upgrade what packages do i need to install like nah don't do that i wish somebody would have told them that if a person bought a shopify theme already could they modify and sell it i mean you could do whatever you want but the thing is that if somebody finds out and finds their code in your [ __ ] then you gotta pay the consequences joe do you recommend building a new site in 2021 yeah nissai is always good you could build a new site at any moment any any time in your career but there's definitely limitations because niche niche sites it's all about traffic and also too it's all about what niche you're in because you could have a gaming niche right where you talk about i don't know mmo rpgs you're gonna need thousands and thousands and thousands of of users to be going through that need for you to make like a thousand dollars a month now if you find a niche about like car insurance or finance like you can make a thousand bucks with just a hundred people because you'll have links that will you know make you money like affiliate links for services like let's say i talk about stocks and then people read my articles of stocks and then i say hey by the way you could check out this person's course which is a thousand dollars right a thousand dollars but it will teach you everything that you need to know about the stock market now if you have like the 30 or 50 percent uh affiliate uh you know partnership with that person now every time that you sell a course uh you will make three hundred five hundred dollars every single time without you having to build anything or you're building is just your niche site which is bringing traffic for people that's looking for that type of information like if you look at was it yahoo and yahoo finance one of the reasons why yahoo has like like ma ads they have a whole bunch of ads on like motley was it motley fool whatever um they have a whole bunch of ads by a whole bunch of places where it's really like a subscription for courses or subscription to know about the stock market like yahoo does that because they make mad money from that they get paid from affiliates they also get paid from people that pay for that that advertising space so even though yahoo people don't even remember yahoo anymore but yahoo is still relevant in the world of finance you know so you know it all depends nietzsche can be very profitable but it depends on which you're getting into the reason why i'm focusing more on on things like shopify apps or shopify themes and things like that is because i'm seeing that the amount of work that i will have to put in to create a new niche rate as much income as creating uh you could go and create a niche website you get you're gonna have to keep on bringing traffic to your website all the time but let's say for example if i create uh a theme right and then i put it on a platform and then i bring in let's say 500 cells you know what happens the platform starts promoting me so instead of me having to constantly be focusing oh i gotta promote this website i gotta promote this website i gotta promote this website once i get 500 sales a thousand sales the platform starts promoting me starts putting me best sellers trending team etc so then that's bringing me traffic for no reason like i don't have to do [ __ ] after that it's automated right um now for assassin's service you're always gonna have to bring traffic but you don't have to worry about bringing in thousands of users what you have to worry about is bringing in that user that needs your service so i could go in and create a software as a service that it cost a hundred dollars a month right for example it costs a hundred dollars a month for me to provide a service for a business now instead of focusing on trying to get you know a hundred thousand users to my website and out of those 500 users i could get five to ten people to sign up so that means every single month i'm going up 500 on the you know on my monthly recurring revenue so imagine this the first month you bring in 500 cool second month now you bring a thousand every month you bring in 1 500 right and it keeps on going up like that doubling up now of course there's going to be the churn rate and all of that right people are going to leave and be like oh i left but a lot of times if you're providing good services people stay with you that's the thing what why do we all have netflix because they provide us with what we need every single month yeah we could get better videos maybe on amazon or something like that maybe renting a video right if maybe blockbuster was around right i've seen people that they used what were the those [ __ ] [ __ ] vending machines red boxing [ __ ] like that but it's like i'm not going to the [ __ ] walgreens to go put my [ __ ] money in there and get a [ __ ] dvd and bring it back in two days like i'm not doing that [ __ ] i go to netflix yeah they might not have all the movies but they're providing a service for me it's the same thing for software as a service as long as you are providing value to the business and you're adding new features every few months then you know people's going to continue with you you know the same thing with people on codingface.com again i bring you my own businesses as an example why do people still come to codingphase.com why do people even after they already got a job come back to codingface.com it's because we provide a service that they're not going to get anywhere else we provide a service that is something that they need and they enjoy the moment that they don't enjoy it they leave for good 65 and then they come back you get what i'm saying so at the end of the day that's how [ __ ] is done right if you provide a service to to you know to your customers and you give them the best that you you got then you're always going to get you know good results but again that's something that i learned now right if i wouldn't have created codingphase.com if i would have created um even this youtube channel i probably will still be doing niche websites because i will still be in that world but one thing that i learned from codingphase is that it's better to create a service providing value to people and then from there it becomes like a utility the reason why we have water the reason why we have uh electricity is because we need it and we're getting something we're getting value out of it you know what i'm saying people are going to stick with you as long as you provide value the moment that you don't provide value yeah your [ __ ] goes down but in the long term you make more money with a service than you doing on like affiliate marketing where you're constantly having to bring new people new people new people new people so you get stuck in that world of i got to bring so much traffic to my website uh just to get just to get sales or [ __ ] like that like it doesn't make sense it's like look look at this channel right so um code and face is not the biggest pla like the biggest uh youtube channel or the biggest platform but we're probably in the top three top four you know most profitable out of everybody that's here on youtube from everybody that you see we are in the top we're up there's very people that might even be close to where we at like and that's because we provide a service you know what i'm saying and people enjoy the service but we don't have to be the biggest now imagine if if i was like the biggest youtuber right or had like the the biggest [ __ ] uh push from the algorithm we couldn't face dot com will be making millions of dollars right now because it's a great service but we just don't have that um what we're gonna say that exposure and it's cool it's cool that we don't have that exposure you know why because at the end of the day it allows me to focus on the people that i do have you know what i'm saying and that helps me get better results i don't know maybe if i had a million users two million users active on codingface.com i wouldn't be able to help everybody else you know what would happen i would have to go in and hire hire like you know random instructors higher random [ __ ] people to come in and help um help the students but in reality they wouldn't give a [ __ ] about the students because they're just getting paid for by a salary you know what i'm saying um it's the same thing like you have mcdonald's right mcdonald's is huge it serves the whole world right but when you go to mcdonald's you might bump into somebody that's nice you might bump into somebody who's giving you an attitude you're like can i get a extra barbecue and they already extra barbecue you get what i'm saying because the owner of mcdonald's they're not they're not there but if you go into like a small restaurant where they selling like you know the best steak in town the owners walking around every table and saying hey guys you guys are good yeah bring up some extra bread that's what coding face is you get what i'm saying if we was bigger than what we are i wouldn't be able to go to everybody's table and be like yo you want some extra bread you want some what do you need sir you want me to get you extra barbecue eight one sauce everyone sauce is good for you cool i'll bring you some a1 sauce that's when people feel good they feel special they're like damn i got the owner talking to me i got the owner taking care of me he brought me extra bread i'll leave an extra tip you know what i'm saying so coding phase that's what that's what we are and i'm happy with um you know the results that we've gotten uh with this platform but i learned a lot from me i've learned a lot because now everything that i've learned from codingphase allows me to go into my next stage with 87 lux and you know with themes digital products right i learned a lot from customer service i learned a lot from you know how to keep people happy what type of things that people care about how to do research within your own your own company and your own products to see what are the products that people really want the ones that people really care about right those are things that now i could bring into 87 lux and say okay how to find the best features for my customers how to how to find the best uh products that's gonna be profitable right you know how to you know know your audience know your the people that that's that's there it's like you know in the beginning people used to ask me on coding face like yo why isn't there no full stack applications why isn't there uh this this and that like and every course is only beginner courses and i'm like i had a plan i had to build a whole foundation and also too whenever i used to build i don't know if you guys remember i started uh e-commerce node.js course that we was bought we was gonna go in and build the whole thing from scratch and nobody was taking it nobody took it there was probably less than 10 people in the whole website this is about at the time we had like 2 000 people there was less than [ __ ] 10 people that actually was taking that course and you know why because everybody they were not on that page they were not on that that that point they they were on learning html css sas learning javascript right so instead of me focusing on something that's so advanced i needed to do the research and find out exactly what is it that my audience my my customers actually need and where they at you can't go in and invest your time into something that is not going to give results and it's also it's not going to be valuable to your audience now we could do something like that you see now we're talking about full stack applications now we're talking about um you know freaking shopify apps and all of this stuff but back then that was ahead ahead of his time because the audience and the customers that that were coming in they were not at that that stage yet you know what i'm saying so it's the same thing with so first service you can go in and create a feature that the users don't need like you would say well they're going to need this later on they don't need it right now so you're wasting your time and you're not giving them value for you know for what they're paying for give them what they need now don't give them what they need two years from now let me see red box is it what if you have a product that comes with the service i mean you could do that too i got a product i'll sell you a theme but then we'll also sell you the customer service or the maintenance yeah you can do that too so it's a lot of stuff that you could do um let me see it's about transparency programming i try to make my clients understand even though i know they probably don't but it doesn't it does make them feel better yeah so for real for all this is like spending four days joe you need to upgrade from team over bro spending for days i don't know bro my fault my fault is spinning that's that's life kiddo it's because i think it's because it's trying to connect to the wi-fi that's why so it's trying to i'm outside my house so then it's trying to connect to the wi-fi every time that i move so my fault you need those basics before you jump into those stacks yeah and that's one thing that you know that in the beginning i was like yo i was trying to like build applications that were advanced right and i wanted to build them but the problem is most of the audience they're not up there yet right there wasn't updated they didn't know about all of the stuff most of the people that do come to coding face are people that have never programmed before right so um you know some other instructors they might have people that they already started coding somewhere i attract the audience that's beginners the guys that just started that same day they like and they find me so i gotta take them from zero to a hundred most people that find like get like their their students or things like that they find them after they're already tried like three four different courses most of the people that come to me i'm like their first instructor so they don't know nothing they don't even know node.js i don't know how to freaking do a npm install there's people still having problems with the web developer starter kit and that [ __ ] is simple so that tells me like i gotta make sure that i have all those basics um you know taken care of joe how to create a brand to have client like small businesses well again use youtube man use youtube create you i would say you have to have like llc escort but you don't need that until you start making money you could go in and start creating your own business create a website create a nice landing page provide value tell them what you're going to be able to do for them okay set up a way for you to set up calls one-on-one calls with with them okay and like a button in a form and say hey uh let's set up a time let's set up a call let's work you know we work with any budget let's talk right and then like that when people come to your website you could go in get their information and then you could either give them a call or they call you and you know you set it up like that and then you just go in and tell them what you know ask them what they what they need and then if it's something reasonable if somebody tells you i need the next facebook in two months and i only got two hundred dollars then you'll be like sorry my good sir but this [ __ ] is not possible you need you need hundreds of thousands of dollars for that and you need a team if you want something like that we could build something basic but you still got to pay me a couple of thousands because then i'm gonna have to work full time on your project you gotta say so um you're gonna have to go in and explain that to them that's that's the process of you know having your own business and and weeding out the customers that's [ __ ] that's they're just [ __ ] around or playing around also too you don't start working on anything until they pay you half of the money up front okay so that's just how it is [Applause] but you can use youtube for sure youtube is a great way to to get uh people to find you so youtube is the biggest search engine right now in the world and then google is the second biggest search engine in the world so what's interesting is that if you put in a web designer or web developer in phoenix arizona and that's the title of your video when people search for a web developer in phoenix arizona your video is gonna show up and you're gonna be explaining exactly what you do what you can provide and then you say hey here's my number here's my uh website uh let's set up a meeting right let's set up a call and then from there you go in now you're bringing in customers you know people that they say oh i can't find customers this [ __ ] is too saturated this isn't that they're not working hard enough they're not thinking outside the box people are expecting people to come to them now you're supposed to go and put yourself in the right places and then from there for people to see you it's like somebody who says i'm gonna open up a store and they open it up in the desert right nobody there's no foot traffic nobody's walking through there but if you go in and you take that story and you put it in the mall where everybody's walking you know what even if people don't even know what the hell you do they're going to pass by they're going to go inside but yeah what do you guys do oh we build websites you need one of that etc right and then now you're getting freaking customers it's that simple it's not it's not like [ __ ] it's not science it's logical [ __ ] but you know people don't want to put in the work you know doing this type of videos doing all the stuff that i do here um and you know it just [ __ ] takes time all this [ __ ] takes time i mean you know even i'm doing this live stream talking about topics and talking about how we're gonna be doing this uh shopify application all this [ __ ] takes time it's 40 minutes out of my day do you think most people will put in that time hell no most people's not trying to put in 40 minutes they're like 40 minutes i gotta talk about topic i gotta help people out i gotta you know say like they don't wanna put in that time right um so they might not get the same results as me you know for real you go in there like yo sorry my good sir we can't do that we can't spend two months working on your [ __ ] full time and you're gonna give us two hundred dollars what's that hundred dollars a freaking month what is this [ __ ] tanzania what do you think this is like [ __ ] tasmania what do you think this [ __ ] is bro zimbabwe dudes like yo [ __ ] it's a hundred dollars don't spend it don't spend their all in one place and you're like i'm gonna work for you for two months dude he's like yo he's here's the first half a hundred dollars like like yeah you're gonna feed your whole family with a hundred dollars bro should be crazy sometimes there's clients that's why i'm not dealing with clients like that's why i'm building myself as an authority as a shopify expert right and you know doing my certification creating all this content on shopify trying to go to conferences talk about shopify talk about opportunities um and things like that and it's really to become an authority in the field to get those ten thousand fifty thousand dollar you know contracts where a business wants us to build their whole website with shopify plus like that's what i'm trying to do but i'm not trying to be i'm i'm past that [ __ ] to be dealing with random dudes like yo can you build me the next facebook i got 200 in my pocket like no i don't want to do that [ __ ] but yeah man i think i'm gonna head out of here guys i just want to say good morning have a great day if you remember codingface.com go check out codingphase um for those of you guys that uh bought the shopify bundle right you got a new course coming out pretty soon i'm starting to work on on it tonight um so yeah and for those of you guys are yearly plus members you know you get access to everything every bundle every single thing that's some coding phase same thing for the lifetime members so again for those of you guys that want to build a shopify application right it's great and it's not just a shopify application um this is great for anybody who wants to be a full stack developer so if you are a full stack developer or you're studying to become a full stack developer like and you want to focus on node.js this is going to be a great application for you you're going to learn how to build um you know a shopify application which is a full stack application you're going to be using react you're going to be using apis you're going to be using web hooks you're going to be using uh databases um you're going to be using user identification um sure you're going to be seeing how we deploy this application so definitely uh check it out okay uh let me see how do you private this stuff when it comes to online giving it away so cheap how do i price it i just look my goal is not to become a millionaire of this [ __ ] my goal is to help as many people as possible and as i continue to grow as a developer as an individual right um people's gonna always ask me where do you learn how to code or they're gonna tell me joe how do you become like this how do you become you know like how do you get into this business how did your business grow like this et cetera when people ask me that my answer is always gonna be go to codingface.com right because this is why i created it same thing like with shopify why did i get into shopify because i was already about to get into shopify anyways and i'm about to [ __ ] make money with it like crazy i'm i'm you know doing all the [ __ ] that i'm doing uh with shopify but when people ask me joe how are you able to get this car how are you being able to take this vacation how are you being able to do all this stuff so my lifestyle and the way i live is it's something that people want people want to have this type of lifestyle like working from home uh being able to you know set up your own schedule being able to take vacations whenever the hell you want right having you know making money while you're sleeping right people want to know how you do that but most of the time no one has the answers because no one thinks about what's going to happen when people ask you that me from the beginning i was like yo when people ask me this [ __ ] and they want me to help them out right what i'm gonna do is i'm gonna provide them the service and say go to codingface.com and yes i'm making some money from it but i'm not making a lot it's not like i'm like oh here's a [ __ ] a thousand dollar course nah i'm selling it where everybody can have access to it with twenty dollars you get access to every [ __ ] course in codingface.com where people go to a boot camp and spend thousands of dollars they could get it with less than a hundred dollars at codingface.com the same education the same knowledge and probably even more just with less than 100 hours so to me i'm helping the world i'm helping people that's just like me that it's like trying to get the [ __ ] together and you know it's a [ __ ] twenty dollars you might find a 20 off you might find a 40 or 50 off this is [ __ ] crackhead prices basically are we profitable yes to a certain extent but not like crazy i mean what's 300 000 to me it's not much right that's the profits right after you pay taxes and all that [ __ ] was 300 000 that's not much right if you go in and you say well if i have other businesses and all the [ __ ] that i could be doing i could be making [ __ ] millions i don't need to be doing this but i really enjoy helping people out and i know i'm making a difference right it's making you know helping people out getting them into the game you know they're seeing how how not easy but how easy it is to become one by doing the processing and putting in the work you know what i'm saying so to me it's like if we can help people out i'm gonna help them out um but the price and the way how i price things is stupid right even there's times that i just launched a course and then somebody asked me joe damn joe i don't i don't i don't have that much money right now uh could you hook me up and i'll be like here he's a [ __ ] 40 percent off no one does that people don't come in and be like yo i'll give you a 40 off just because he's a 25 off he's a 50 off people don't [ __ ] do that i do that you get what i'm saying which is stupid it's a stupid way of running a business because it's a business at the end of the day but to me it's like that's why i do other stuff that supplement the extra income that i need you know what i'm saying i just need for this thing to be maintained and you know the service not to go down the things that we pay for the services all that stuff to still be able to get paid and i'll be happy with that right i'll make my own money my niche websites i make my own money in my digital products i make my own money with dealing with you know clients once we get to as an authority of shopify which is what i want to do and it's a process it takes time but i have you know i have enough to uh to put in the time and i have the determination i know how it is it's just about me sitting down continue doing my work and little by little you know in the next three four years you're gonna see a big rise of like what 87 you know 87 lux is um but pricing wise i shouldn't be pricing the way high prices is crazy i mean imagine this there's dudes that come up with one css course and they'll be like well hey guys this [ __ ] is fifty dollars and they'll be like okay you gotta pay fifty dollars so you gotta pay a hundred dollars whatever it might be and that's it that's what people gotta pay i come in and i build over [ __ ] 65 courses pretty much everything that you need to become a developer right and i package it up and say hey you got all of this [ __ ] for 20 if you're smart you'll go in and you do as many courses as you can in one month and you only pay 20 you get what i'm saying so is it smart no but at the end of the day is it's a way to help people out andre versus himself i said yo hi everyone kraken here okay i need to honestly say these prizes are for me yeah man look man i always crack i was cracking joke about cracking cracking prices there's probably a crackhead out there it's like yo then stop using our name for [ __ ] vain like that but um yeah it's just [ __ ] cracking prices like we give it like we're basically giving it away you get what i'm saying like just for for running every every person that comes into codingface.com think about it like this i gotta pay like five dollars for you to join the website right to maintain it to do all the stuff right so just by you being on the website costs five dollars then from there if we pay for an advertisement um and you found us and you signed up through an advertisement or something like that then think about it like this we probably don't make no money from you the first whole month because remember five dollars let's say if you was paying for the 20 special right um five dollars is let's say four four to five dollars is like taxes automatically right taxes and random [ __ ] like that uh then from there to have you on the website cost is like five dollars then from there whatever is left then we we get to keep so that could be like ten dollars so then on top of that if we paid ten dollars for you to see our ad then we ain't make no bread so there's people that come in and be like yo i signed up for one month and and i'm good i got them i did math courses for 20 bucks but what they don't understand is like yeah you got me i basically pay for you to come in and take the courses for free basically because i ain't making no bread but it's fine because then later on a lot of people they realize they go in and they try other services and they're like yo this is [ __ ] i'm better off i caught your face and they always come back i've seen people that have gone to um every instructor every person that you could think of and they always come back because they realize like the projects that other people have they're [ __ ] no disrespect but they're [ __ ] they're not as exciting as the projects that we built because we're actually putting in the work we we built [ __ ] that's that's gonna take time but it's real projects it's not like a little to do app that you you [ __ ] you could do that [ __ ] on youtube you're gonna say when you're paying for something you want something that you're basically simulating working at a company and that's what we do at coding phase um let me see hello can you speak vietnamese no but i don't know how that's been vietnamese hi yo we made our first shopify app any tips on how to market the app uh write me shout out to remy um what i would say again use youtube um use facebook groups okay whatever it is that uh the application is supposed to do find that group on facebook um let's say it's like a puppy neck collar calculator or something like that find a place where the po the puppy owners you know hang out at or use websites like cora and answer people's questions um if it's like something technical like let's say a app to upsell products on shopify there's people that are searching on the internet for questions like that so go in and and answer their questions have somebody in your company take one day out of the week where all they're doing is just promoting go through every platform answer the questions and then from there um you say hey by the way you could also check out this this application you don't have to say oh i work for this company [ __ ] that you don't have to there's no thing that says you have to tell them that you work for that company you create a regular users companies do this [ __ ] all the time if you ever gone to like search about uh medication if you go in and you search about um certain products that's on amazon or anything like that most of those reviews that you read they'd be like oh i had a great time with this with this [ __ ] pill this pill had no side effects it's really a company that's paying for that [ __ ] the same company that's selling this to you they're the ones putting putting those [ __ ] comments there okay um you're gonna say like if you see those five-star reviews it's the same [ __ ] company so in reality there's no law that tells you you cannot do that you cannot leave reviews on on your own product and there's no law that that doesn't say um you cannot go in and recommend your own product there's no law that says that now if you're paying for advertisement and like let's say for example you pay me uh for me to promote your service on shopify then i have to put a disclaimer at the bottom saying hey this uh this was an affiliate or this was a paid sponsorship that's it you're what i'm saying so you got to use the tools that's there you got to be smart and use the tools that's there the same way how the big companies do it you got to do it the same way same thing for your shopify apps just promote the [ __ ] out of it go answer people's questions create youtube videos uh whatever your application is about go to keyword google keyword planner and search those terms like let's say for example upsell or upselling product on shopify then from there it's going to give you all of the other keywords that people are actually searching for and then you will look in there for questions you will look in there for um things that people are getting stuck on or that you're you can solve their problem and then create a youtube channel and literally answer those questions now you can also create a blog within your platform where it's answering exactly those questions that people are searching for so then now you're bringing in a targeted audience and you bring awareness of your application to that targeted audience that's looking exactly for that service you cannot promote a product to everybody you can't just say well i'm trying to promote this product for everybody you know i'm saying like it's like right now if i go in and i run an ad on codingface.com i don't run ads for everybody i have a specific audience a specific target a specific age group i have a specific locations i don't go in and run ads on guys that's in minnesota i don't run ads on guys that's in [ __ ] west virginia right i look at my google analytics from where everybody is that has uh signed up to coding fee and i look at the areas it's the same areas you're going to see new york city you're going to see miami you're going to see tampa orlando houston texas you're going to see rally in north carolina you're going to see los angeles you're going to see san francisco you're going to see uh salt lake city right so i with that information in that data now right i'll go in and run my ads to them so this is the same thing that you can do by creating this content creating this this um this videos and in this blogs what you're going to do is you're going to bring traffic to your website or to your application even if they don't sign up right it doesn't matter now you have data you get them saying now you have data information of where your customers is located and then now you can zero in into that hopefully that that helps you out you know yo sometimes i'll be listening to my [ __ ] i'm like yo i don't know what this dude joe did this coding phase guy but he knows his [ __ ] bro like these days i'll be thinking to myself like how the [ __ ] i learned all this [ __ ] like yo i've been putting too much damn time into this [ __ ] bro like yo i'm like yo hold on did i just [ __ ] explain that whole process in like a minute like what what's going on with your boy joe today he brain on something the brain is on top knocks today oh he woke up good he got some good sleep you know you know i'm stupid man i'm just thinking i'm like talking and i'm like explaining this [ __ ] i'm thinking to myself like yo i'm gonna roll today bro like this this is gonna be a productive day if i'm waking up like this early in the morning it's gonna be a productive day bro yeah man but um yeah guys i think i might head out of here i gotta get get back to work okay uh so red meat uh congrats on your app and um like i said just push it out there find your audience find your targeted audience and just put it out there bro try to get as much data as [ __ ] as much data as possible so you can make the right decisions because that's what people [ __ ] up at if they don't know like what type of features they should add if they don't know what's their audience really need um then you just were really wasting time but you got it all right uh i'm gonna see you guys later take care peace
