witness scott peterson subconsciously suggests he murdered his pregnant wife we're going to analyze his rarely seen a newly released interrogation footage along with breaking down his body language that's next welcome back to the channel shakers derrick man shake here before there was chris watts i like these shirts a lot back in 2002 there was scott peterson no one knows our relationship with us no this is not ben affleck's sky's the limit for dean gaines suspicion has turned to me he was the northern california man who was found guilty of sadly murdering his pregnant wife lacey peterson on december 24th 2002. if you recall he claimed he went fishing on christmas eve day and when he came home his pregnant wife was mysteriously missing and also if you recall it eventually came out that scott peterson had a mistress her name was amber fry all along scott claimed complete innocence and he had no idea where lacey went one day after lacey went missing police called scott into the police station to get his account of what happened in this rarely seen in newly released police interrogation footage so we're gonna break down police interrogation tactics used along with analyzing his of body language to finally reveal what police seem to have missed during their interrogation of scott peterson now let's get started much start all i'm going to do let's just go over what what we already talked about so i can make some knowledge meet detective albrochini he's going to be interrogating scott peterson here's what's just mind-blowing with this interrogation this interrogator here doesn't really seem to understand that scott is a major suspect in this missing person's case the number one cause of death for pregnant women can you guess what it is yeah it's murder and who do you think is the main culprit in those cases right it's the baby's father or the husband boyfriend beyonce whoever what you'll notice is that this detective doesn't really seem to take scott as a suspect very seriously it's like well he may be a suspect but probably not doesn't he know the statistics if you remember something that you don't maybe you don't know you remember immediately we see scott put both of his hands in his coat pockets typically when someone is deceptive they will refrain from showing their hands however sometimes the liar will show their hands in convincing and not just conveying he saw that a little bit with chris watts showing his hands in the palms of his hands when he was lying but here given the timing of him putting his hands in his coat pockets indicates that body language response is tied to the questioning he goes into a figure four leg cross to brace himself for these questions and we also see some nervous shifting in his seat all of this indicates his nervousness of fear of getting caught or fear of what may happen in this interrogation so today just tell me about the warning is it possible an innocent person may also be nervous answering police questions the first time ever in a police station type of thing yeah it's very possible they may be a little nervous however here this is more than just nervous and also notice he's leaning back away from the interrogator and not leaning forward into the interrogator we naturally lean away from things we don't like and we don't want to be involved in we would expect an innocent person to possibly be leaning forward and putting their hands on the desk because they're open and they want to talk to the interrogator because this interrogator actually wants to help find the missing person but if you're the one who hid the missing person yeah you probably don't want that missing person found and this interrogator isn't going to be on your side did you notice that extremely massive exhale it's like he just ran three miles and is now taking a deep breath to lower his heart rate yes he's very nervous because he knows what he's gonna have to do he's gonna have to lie lying is something we don't typically like to do it's a lot of work to lie it's dangerous because you can get caught in the lie taxing on you because you need to keep your story straight and you also need to defend your lie you're naturally going to get a lot of criticism with people pointing at holes in your story so typically people will avoid lying and only lie about the specific details that they have to lie about don't know what time i got probably lacie got up and went and assumed that she had some chill for breakfast did you catch it he first starts out saying that he assumes and then corrects himself and then says oh well she had cereal for breakfast because you would pretty much know immediately whether you saw them eating cereal for breakfast or you didn't see him eating cereal for breakfast he's trying to wake up otherwise she gets sick because she's pregnant i laid around the bed longer i got up at 8 o'clock probably or so showers and um we were watching her favorite show martha stewart martha stewart was her favorite show and also this was before martha stewart went to jail you didn't watch the whole thing though you know remember what part you saw i mean i don't know what to do okay cookies of some sort they're talking about what to do with the ring you want to make a little meringue um and i i can't remember your house you had the the converted garage areas that your tv room like yeah is that where you were then wait did you eat any breakfast yeah liars will get tripped up in the details so if you suspect the person could be a suspect you want to get them to talk about the details kind of cereal did you have what did you put in the cereal where did you eat the cereal who was there did you have a conversation while you're eating the cereal what was that conversation about all those specific details are going to be very difficult for a liar to answer so when they do answer they'll likely just talk about the first thing that comes to mind or take a very long time answering the question an interrogator will be able to see how truthful the suspect is based on how much detail he gives okay you're noticing the very long pause right now scott's a little nervous because how do you answer something that you want to not talk about and seems to be having trouble formulating the story while also avoiding the truth of what happened that morning now watch the detective clearly bail scott out here when do you realize you're going to go fishing well that was a morning decision it's either it goes in the morning we'll go play golf with the club or go fishing too cold to hopefully cough at the club does that make any sense to you he was considering playing golf but then thought hey you know it's a little cold out so why don't i go on a lake fishing instead so um yeah the lake of course is going to be a lot colder than the golf course right here this proves that this detective doesn't really think that scott's involved because if this detective was at all critical of scott he wouldn't be just taking what scott says at face value he's apparently thinking he's just a reporter at this point or maybe he wants to go home for christmas or something like that and doesn't want to spend a lot of time interrogating scott peterson but either or he's not doing a very good job interrogating this prime suspect just decided to you know find dirty or whatever whenever we left he said yes scott peterson is admitting that he wasn't alone when he left the house which runs completely contrary to what he claimed in his defense that he left the house all alone that morning to go fishing and left lacy in the dog at home that seemed to be a freudian slip accidentally revealing what happened that morning someone left the house that morning with him and presumably it was lacey just told him what she was gonna do for the day and okay so bob she told you what she was gonna do for the day yeah and what was that not willing to volunteer details and giving long pauses are very quintessential of a liar a liar may not want to talk about the details where those details could get the liar caught if you have an acquaintance that's lying to you yeah they may talk a little bit more in detail but when you have a police investigation that's going to look into everything and look under every single stone they're not gonna give a lot of detail because the details will get them caught um she's gonna face cleaning up like i said she's walking the kitchen and we also find out is that their visiting maid yeah she was there a day before this all happened so why would lacy need to be mopping the kitchen floor a day after the maid just came take the dog for a walk and then she was going to the store to buy for christmas morning breakfast tomorrow and that was going to be a involved prep so that was her afternoon's prepping for breakfast and she's gonna make gingerbread cookies for tonight so she asked do you put the mock bucket by the front door yeah she's you know he was pregnant i'm gonna pick it up or anything so i filled it up for really hard to read his facial expressions because of how far the camera is away from him as well as the quality of the camera so it's hard for us to decipher exact moments when he's lying so when you left do you remember what she was wearing uh black pants uh white long sleeve top the kind of buttons or no just like that long sleeve t-shirt kind of thing but you know didn't say anything on it or um jacket or shoes no no shoes shoes are usually something that's overlooked by a criminal we saw that happen with chris watts her car's in the garage her shoes she wears every single day by the front door where everyone's shoes were still there what shoes does she normally wear is those flip-flops she has flip-flops there she has flip-flops in her office she has a whole shoe closet but they were missing indicating that they did not leave the house voluntarily do you notice for jackie if her jacket was there or did she wear it like if she went walking at 10 o'clock or 9 30 she just steals my stuff she uses your stuff yeah because you know she doesn't return to stuff so i don't know she could have had her for mine a jacket too in the wintertime is also overlooked by the criminal which could be the reason why he said well she just steals one of my jackets sometimes so police don't look through her coat closet finding none of her coats missing and also did you catch that he said well maybe she's just not wearing any jacket at all but according to him it was freezing out so cold they didn't want to play golf so of course she would have wore something over what she was wearing okay so then about 9 30 you left this was a perfect opportunity for that detective to make an intentional mistake the way he could have said it to scott was what time did you leave with her again you can either catch him agreeing with that or two gauge his reaction of hearing that he drove your four-door truck and he went over hold your shop right what would you do over there uh i assembled my uh mortiser a major red flag for this interrogator is that scott isn't acting right his pregnant wife is missing but is he acting concerned or worried at all no it's a woodworking tool to make tables just got that so i assembled it check my email typically someone in this situation who wants to find their pregnant wife would not be acting like this you'll be scared worry fearful anxious one of the worst feelings is when someone you love or someone you care about they're missing and you can't find them you don't know where they are because the absolutely terrifying part of someone missing is that you don't know what they could be going through at this very moment what's going on are they in pain are they in agony what's happening where are they what could they possibly be going through right at this very moment it's scary it's terrifying for him to just be laid back and just talking like that is not very typical of a very worried husband okay did you drive straight there did you stop for lunch no you buy bait nope not a big fisherman you can buy the lunch did you eat nothing take a lunch no so this is another thing that's very curious he said he ate a bowl of cereal in the morning didn't eat anything that whole day supposedly on the boat fishing and if you know anything about when you're on a boat traveling a lot yeah you get really hungry that's kind of odd that you just wouldn't eat anything at all either before you're on the boat maybe a little snack while you're fishing who sits in a little boat all alone fishing and doesn't eat anything and he doesn't eat anything in his truck on his way back home either it doesn't sound logical right however if it was a very extraordinary day and a lot of things were on his mind besides eating and he had a lot to do besides eating that could explain why he didn't eat while he was out that day i'm hungry when i got home okay so if you got to the about five minutes to one get your boat in how long have you stayed in the water felt like an hour and a half or so if you notice he's not giving a lot of detail to the police other than just answering the direct question that they ask him that's not very typical of someone who is innocent and wants to find their loved one they would want to proactively share the most amount of information is possible with the police who are going to help find their missing person but if you don't want that missing person to be found or you're involved in making that person go missing yeah you're not going to be giving a lot of information to the police i mean a lot of a lot of the reason i went was just to get that boat in the water to see you know yeah now lacey's sister call scott's cell phone see if you notice anything a little bit odd about this situation here amy what's going on what's going on amy absolutely no urgency to open the phone and get to talk to her hoping that they have positive news that they found for my our house okay yeah um where you're gonna stay your place obviously where nate and brent going when someone you love or care about is missing and if there's any possibility of good news that they could be alive and that you found them but jazz when your sister-in-law is calling you when she knows you're being interrogated at the police station it's gonna be exciting it's gonna be like oh my gosh you found her you found her where is she someone who wants to find their missing person will typically be overly optimistic and they'll do anything even if it's a tiny possibility of finding their loved one they'll still do it because they so desperately want their loved one back but scott over here is like hey what's going on which seems to be because he's the one who really knows where she is thanks amy sister-in-law amy lacy's sister different mothers those umbrellas that were they in your car before dude put them in this morning and ten was to leave them at the warehouse so you put the rose in there this morning because you were in a storm at the what i would call our back door which is a french door where my shoes were at see a dog out there yeah yeah and he'd still have his leash on it's believed that before scott left the house that morning he attached the leash to the dog's collar and let that dog run free throughout the neighborhood to make it look like lacey was taken and the dog escaped a neighbor found their dog and put the dog back in their yard but notice the lack of surprise or concern or curiosity that he found his dog with the leash attached to his collar oh my gosh i can't believe i found our dog with the dog's leash on its collar she must be somewhere i don't know what happened where's my pregnant wife oh my gosh there's no emotion at all like that from scott and if you notice it's all just a matter of fact obviously what do you do with it um table it's because it's very difficult to show believable fake emotion so you may be saying why don't they at least try to show some fake emotion it's way too risky because if you show fake emotion and you're not a great actor you end up looking like amber heard uh see what happened you got caught up thinking too much of the right emotion to use that she forgot what she was supposed to say causing her to fall out of character for a second grab [Music] i don't know smacking my face or moving my face or and he stopped me by the hair [Music] um it's hard to describe it where it becomes very obvious that the person is lying so a big giveaway to the police that scott peterson is somehow involved is his lack of emotion it's extraordinarily difficult and extraordinarily risky for the suspect to fake his emotions so suspects will typically not even try to be emotional because they know it will just come across as terrible and if you recall we saw that too with chris watts i lose my four-year-old in the store for 10 seconds and i start to go panic panic i have not seen any of that from you at all help me understand that i love those girls i i would never do any of this because i haven't shed a tear like you did the amount of information scott is giving here is just so minimal it's like well if you ask me a question i'll answer in a yes or no is that how a husband who wants to find his pregnant wife axe no um dog and the cat followed me in so i dumped out that mouthwater the cat went over to it the way scott is acting is such a dead giveaway for these cops and yet they don't really seem to see it they're just like oh he seems like a good guy he's a good looking guy too so he couldn't possibly have done it it's so obvious do you remember our front door we hear a little nervous crackle in his voice do you remember our front door indicating that he's likely nervous about what he's talking about whether it's partly a lie or maybe because he's nervous because he's talking about the mopping bucket that he used to help clean up the crime scene what this also seems to tell us is that he mopped up before he left the house that day and your cat goes over to this bucket and what was he gonna drink out of it or look like so you just picked it up and walked it out the front door then no that little side door obviously very suspicious if the maids already cleaned the floors yesterday why would the floors need to be cleaned again 12 hours later it was right outside and then you set it out there as we said one of my chris watts videos three major red flags for police is the bed stripped the washing machine going and the smell of cleaning products in the house specifically bleach i um smell bleach when i was back in the house it could have been coming off the you pool um put my clothes in the washer check out those rags threw my clothes in there were you calling for lacy or oh yeah of course but she wasn't home no scott clearly forgot to say that part in his story but of course he's not gonna be proactively thinking of it because he knows where lacey is he wasn't calling out her name in the house so it wasn't at the top of his mind to remember but when the police officers said it were you calling for lacy or that's when he said oh well yeah of course i did oh yeah of course of course i i was yelling out her name yeah well that goes without saying but if yuri living the events one of the haunting things that would be coming back to you is yelling her name throughout the house and getting no answer that's haunting that's extremely memorable that's something that you would not forget to mention if that actually happened you put your jeans your blue t-shirt anything else in there i think that great pull over was in there too instead of putting his clothes in the hamper and then getting food because he didn't eat all day do you eat nothing no instead he puts his clothes that he was wearing that day in the washing machine can you guess why making sure that he cleans up the crime scene is higher on his priority list than getting some food did you start the washer yeah did you put soap okay then what uh grab some pizza from the fridge put the box out yeah put it on the counter like the ones lots of milk and there's no questioning that at all from this police officer why didn't you eat first instead of putting your clothes in the wash you had a glass of milk no small one any gloves yeah how much pizza did you have um i think there's one full piece that would have been vitamin scott peterson had one full piece of pizza and then also a half a bite of another one how do you take a half a bite of pizza into a shower do you fall for mom after i get out of the shower and put clothes on that's when i check the messages suck them off he's saying this just so a matter of fact but this should be one of the most emotional days in his whole entire life that he doesn't know where his pregnant wife is no signs of emotion fear scared worry at all none of it absolutely none who called us brandon ron called you we should be in the park look missus and she could have fallen and hit her head she could be unconscious my god she could be in labor sharon called me back at that point said that they would do that call the police and for me to check the neighbors and go to the park it's his wife carrying his unborn child why isn't he concerned enough to go and search and run around the whole neighborhood when he can't find his pregnant wife it's all just so bogus and it's amazing how this interrogator isn't more critical of him park after i checked the neighbors came back called sharon one more time she said we're going to the park the only thing that can really explain this police officer not really being critical of scott is because he's good-looking and also because he comes across as nice that's about it everything else clearly points to scott she said that our outside christmas light basical ones went on just before i got home i didn't notice that they were on i got home but then you know she mentioned it across the street they were on they get plugged into an outlet i didn't plug them in today and then when we returned from the park apart later they were off now he talks about the christmas lights mysteriously going on and off can you guess why yes it's to divert the police on something more random i don't know when they appear to still be plugged in they must have overheated or something so emmy said just before you came home the lights got turned on she saw that and some may be saying well most of us believe that scott peterson is guilty so what's the point because apparently there are interrogators out there who don't know the signs that someone is involved in a person being missing unusual out of normal in your house the only unusual things were the leash and the door being unloaded the front door or the french doors yeah that's what i'm going to call the back door right what we're also noticing with scott which should also have been a red flag for police right here is that scott is not connecting the dots of abnormalities that he's seeing that day to solve the problem of where lacy could be but in his mind there is no problem there is no problem to solve he knows the answer to the problem so his mind is not going into problem-solving mode the back door was open and she didn't lock it he didn't have the leash on when i left so clearly she put the leash on him and i would think that she was walking the dog and wonder where she could have been walking him she typically walks here maybe she could have been walking here maybe over here let's look over here no problem solving mindset at all when he's talking to them have you ever been interviewed by the police because maybe you called the police over because maybe someone broke into something and he wanted to report the robbery or maybe someone broke into your car or anything like that how did you or would you think you would act right you would be over sharing information with them with the hopes that by giving them more and more information they'll be able to have better of an idea of how to solve the crime and how to fix the problem but if it's a crime you don't want to be solved yeah you'll be acting the complete opposite of that you're not going to be thinking of solutions and connecting evidence and problem solving have you fired it recently epistle yeah apparently they found a gun in scott peterson's car and now wondering if maybe there's a connection with that but of course scott peterson is going to welcome this diversion these types of things rarely happen with a gun why because it's very messy it makes a lot of noise and there's a lot of evidence tied to it towels that were in the washing machine you don't know what they were used on no i assume well i mean i assume that used them my mini but i don't know what surface is or anything like that how often does she come over seems like once every two weeks this is her third time for us you guys had any problems um marriage problems the romantic relationship had you told anyone did you tell police told the police immediately told the police immediately when that was uh the first night is good ain't been married four years yeah god claims he was happily married for four years watch this mr happily married scott peterson doesn't even remember the year he was married he wasn't married for four years he was married for at least five years doesn't he remember celebrating his fifth wedding anniversary times you've walked in the park you said that you have seen campers bums or whatever not uncommon for lacy or myself to you know wake one of these guys or ladies out and tell me get lost to wake someone up in the park and tell them to get lost have you ever woke a stranger up in the park and just told them to get lost get out of here you stranger you're sleeping in the park get out of here what not uncommon for lacey or myself to wake one of these guys or ladies out and tell them to get lost he's trying to make the police believe that his little suburban park is sketchy past one zone approaches her in our yard at least that he's very protected from been around mckenzie she was there on monday and obviously she did a lot of work but the towels were filthy why was your wife mopping on tuesday morning got me she was pretty fastidious about it though was she with the dog and the cats scott's claiming that lacy was very picky and wanted the house completely clean all the time if that was the case then why would they need a maid you wouldn't need a maid if you kept up on it every single day like scott is claiming she did also if laci kept up on the house every day perfectly clean almost like ocd about it cleaning mopping every single day making sure everything was perfect every single day then why would the mace cleaning towels be absolutely filthy filthy it doesn't make any sense for lacey to be mopping 12 hours after the cleaning crew just came through she always hit the bathroom okay so that is an unusual you haven't fired any guns today no would you be uh willing for me to take a gunshot residue off your hands sure no problem and of course scott is happy to do a gunshot residue test because it's going to divert the police and surely in his mind exonerate himself p-e-t-e-r yes s-c-o-t-t now of course they minister the whole gunshot residue test and scott is clearly so happy to do it but if he really wanted to find lacy and his unborn son do you think he'd be sitting quietly like he is for the whole gunshot residue test someone who wants to find their loved one who's gonna be saying can you just get this done quickly can we talk and also get this done and for me to tell you what i'm thinking and where we think we could find her and where we should look and what we need to do to find her none of that he's saying he's just like oh okay because someone who's really concerned with finding someone isn't concerned about their own innocence they know that that will eventually be proven because they know they did nothing wrong so their main concern won't be to prove their own innocence like scott is doing here but to find their loved one would you be willing to take a polygraph sure did you notice what he did when he said sure to taking a polygraph watch again would you be willing to take a polygraph sure right he looks up at the interrogator and then looks down as he says sure while he's picking hair off his pants yeah he's not feeling very confident agreeing to take a polygraph and if you recall yes he refused to take a polygraph what you're telling me scott is there's no you have no idea where this is one is the cell phone call that you made that if you listen to it that call was made at 12 17. this detective starts laying out his concerns but his concerns are just so bogus it's about like the phone call that he made and some other little things instead of the bigger picture during his whole interrogation of scott peterson that should have been his biggest concern what concerns me the most is the fact that your dog came home with a leash on that bothers me i mean that bothers me that bothers you gosh this detective is ridiculous now listen closely to what scott says here and see what you think what concerns me most is doing anything i can to further progress what concerns him most is doing anything he can to further progress that sure seemed to be a freudian slip where he subconsciously and unknowingly revealed his true feelings scott peterson is basically confessing here i appreciate that and i don't want you to hold i don't want you to hold it against me i mean sometimes i hate asking you so you got to do it but i i do i really do have to do it and i mean i understand i'm glad you have a strong support system and i'll give you my numbers and my cards but there's not more a lot more we can do right now other than canvas but we can do a lot oh wow scott disagrees and says that wrong we could do a lot now listen to what else scott thinks he can do yep basically just a bunch of mumbling he's ridiculous [Music] okay hey do you have any questions no i mean i've asked you a couple times what to do um so i have the answers to that i'm gonna go do it we're gonna go do what he says no questions at all can you imagine the type of questions that you would have if a loved one of yours was missing is there anything else that my family could do are you all gonna be working on this case because it's christmas day what kind of resources are gonna be allocated to this case when can i get in contact with you detective what should i share with you what should i not are you gonna be going home to see your family right now for christmas or are you gonna go right to working on this case there are so many questions a truly concerned loved one would have but no questions for scott yeah there's you know all we can do now is make people aware of the problem the situation and hope that somebody saw something or know something yeah no no i mean but yeah it's christmas if your loved one went missing you're not going to care that it was christmas it's christmas and you wouldn't be so understanding that it's christmas and okay oh you guys don't have to really work on my case oh i understand it's christmas okay well well everyone can have their holiday no no no no you're thinking that my loved one is missing and god only knows what is happening to them right now and they need to be found now so naturally the truly concerned husband wouldn't care that it was christmas and would actually push back against that detective now listen closely to what scott says here well and there's no need to qualify today we find lisey in the next days days that is not what a truly concerned loved one would say at all days for someone who wants their loved one back thinking about it taking days is similar to torture for them it'll be more like if we find lacy in a few minutes or hours right it'll be more like that not days for a concerned loved one that doesn't know what their loved one is going through where the loved one is that is torture to be thinking about that it would possibly take days and keep in mind too at this point it's only been about 24 hours since she was reported missing and he's talking about days someone who knows their loved one knows where they could be or where they're not and knows where they looked family members that know their loved one are able to deduce it down to it being foul play or something terrible has happened to their loved one and scott here is talking about finding her in days it's obvious why he knows that she's not going to be found the detective give scott his business card but notice scott's body language that's my number my cell phone number i'll get you the did you notice anything odd right he took the detective's business card without even looking at the number confirming which number to call or which number is his whether it's the mobile whether it's his home work or whatever it is making sure that he knows exactly which number to call like someone who is concerned and wants to find their loved one would do he just took the card without really looking at it and chucked it in his side pocket by not looking at the card confirming numbers or anything like that that indicates that scott doesn't anticipate on calling this detective now where do you want to go oh physically back to my home home please he doesn't want to go to a search party he doesn't want to go to her parents house he doesn't want to say hey don't drop me off hey can we also take a cop with me and search the park none of that just home based on the way he was acting along with his freudian slips and his body language it seems very obvious that scott peterson was involved in lacey peterson's disappearance now in the comments why do you think scott peterson did this let everyone know in the comments below give this video a thumbs up if you think scott peterson is guilty give this video a thumbs down if you think scott peterson is not guilty at all if you're not already subscribed hit that subscribe button now because we don't want to miss out on new body language investigative videos that we seem to shake up youtube and i'll see you at the top
