How does something like this exist? It would have had such significant development and server costs to the point where they must have planned for monetization for after it got taken down. Is the play to make something only for Android side-loading? Is this just allowed to stay up in certain foreign markets? This is English localized though, someone spent a bunch of money on that.

Edit: I found out it’s Chinese game Super 3D Mario 文明大冒险 from 2019 but localized and put up late 2020. No idea if the Chinese version is licensed. Someone who knows apps in China could probably tell instantly because I’m sure if China allows developers to steal Nintendo characters there must be a million Mario games on the Chinese App Store.

I can’t find out if the app developer on the Google Play store, Cayman Game Inc, is the original Chinese developer which would help understand if they thought they could monetize this or if someone just really wanted to do this.
