That bread collection game is the culmination of video game design
Dreams is the only thing in life that went exactly like i expected it to
God bless media molecule
Giving us Little big planet then this!
I was curious about mrs bangle so I did some research, and somehow it actually gets worse: https://youtu.be/2dGjOLTm4rg?t=159
I freaking love this game to death. There is some amazing stuff in it, but I also love just going down a rabbit hole of weird creations. Itβs like Newgrounds. Newgrounds is 99% crap, but the vast amount of content and talent means there is some genuinely great content to find. From hyper realism art to controlling shrek in his swamp while a terrible recording of Smashmouth plays. The remake of PT is actually very well done, it is just so great and scary.
I love the music maker. They basically made a DAW on the PS4 that even comes with a granular synth. The fact you can search user made instruments and audio clips ranging from complicated sounds to memes is a god-send.
My brother loves the logic and game development side of it and he has been able to do some great stuff. He made a ball you can control when the game was first released for the Alpha. Since it was so early, no one had done it and it got a whole bunch of playtime and remixes which he was proud of. He is currently working on a first person puzzle that uses object-element changing.
The sharing and remixing aspect of Dreams is what makes it so special I think. You see a level, and scroll through every creation/object and you can see where it originated from. You can add on to levels or even request people to help you with something on it (the subreddit is really nice and helpful in this regard).
Basically Iβm thrilled with the thing and they say they are going to be building on it for the next 10 years. They even are looking for a way to people to export their creations as games outside of Dreams.
The PS5 and VR is where it will shine. Give it a shot if you liked LBP2.
My only complaint is the local multiplayer is mixed in terms of quality, but Iβm really happy it is there even if it seems unpolished. I wished they had split screen, but eventually some player created a version of it which is pretty impressive. Would of still been cool for it to be built in the game from the beginning though. Also the default puppet could and should of been so much better.
The main storyline is great and artsy and shows off a small fraction of Dreams capability, but I wouldnβt be surprised if it is crap compared to user created stuff within a year.
Itβs basically the new generation of Flash games.
If the VR support for this is good that'll be a game changer.
Dreams should be a Dunky series, he could do a new one each month and it would be hilarious
Oh bread
