TROUBLE creating a CHATEAU CHAPEL GARDEN (+ PHILIP in a MUSICAL!)

good morning everyone i had to show you all the sight that has greeted me this morning thor is just being generally magnificent this morning and from here i can see my project for today because dan brilliantly removed all of those hedges from around the chapel to put into the new garden so it's time for me to go out there and get back onto the dumper because we're going to fill in the whole area around the chapel so i've thrown on what i think has now become my trusty gardening dress i say gardening i'm not really a gardener but i do appear to be part of team earthworks for the year friday and saturday i was gone to see the premiere of phillips play in the netherlands and i will show you more about that later it's been incredible did you hear that some of us have a vlog to make i would have been asked were you missing me a lot i'm listening to workforce oh wow it's a desperate day when you're missing me as a workforce that's what we've got i'm coming well before i run downstairs i just want to show you what the fountain looks like from up here now how transformed is the courtyard davey's a mastermind as a very serious member of dan's ground force team i have now learnt that i have to dress appropriately for all projects as you can see i'm absolutely ready for dumper driving but i am going to put the yellow wellies on so we're going to regrade the front of the chapel we have been left with this san andreas fault trench going through the garden though i guess it really should be the san josef fault trench and we need to fill it in so i'm going to be using the dumper to ferry earth from the big earth pile that we still have at the front of the chateau and then i'll be bringing it round and then trying to delicately place the earth in the trench i've never done anything delicately with the dumper before so this should be interesting the whirlies are on there's absolutely no stopping me now lovely day for a nice drive in the woods though it's a bit hard to hear the bird song over the noise of the dumper good morning chickens poor dan peaked a bit too soon with that load of soil i wonder how long he's been sitting there with it waiting i'll be honest this isn't necessarily the way i imagined chatelaine life to be when i first bought leland i was thinking more summer garden parties in the courtyard dressed in glamorous evening wear and now it's wellies dumpers and diggers oh he's on the move he's on the move you're driving very slow today sunday driving today i can't tell why it kept stalling i've come the entire way it's still on matt will be dying inside i know i know i'll come around for this first one okay are you jumping aboard you're a very brave do you think man should take it off this time or if i just i think you should take the handbrake off yeah you know what what could happen let's see if it makes a difference let's just see oh there's a moat oh this is not good you're in a much safer position than because you can jump off whenever you want it is a lot easier with the handbrake off i'll give it that this is a very close view on your face or i'm not gonna lie uncomfortably close i thought you were on the digger with me did i lose down at some point on the way that's a worry this is painful you can do it daniel you are right in the path of a very heavy dumper i don't want to fall into the trench daniel okay that'll do i've never done sideways bucketing it's very exciting right stop i thought i had this dumper thing i thought you know i could do pretty much anything expert level very sideways next to a trench i'm falling into that trench you'll be fine have you seen what is happening and break off maybe i feel safer with that okay stop stop stop just just dump it all just dump it all that's not no no no no no i would call this first round abject failure this is i think this is the most painful thing i've ever had to watch [Music] now what should we try to get out of here look how close my wheel is to that trench and there and i blame you for this you're the one who told me i was not going to fall into a trench i'd love to sit around and chat daniel but i'm afraid i've got a lot to do this is gonna end quite badly i can assume oh [Music] oh it's a rodeo now [Music] people thought i made a mess of the chapel oh my god you are a very frustrating man and i don't like it anymore [Music] why is it i always get stuck working with stephanie jarvis she's like a disobedient sister or something how much of the tree are you planning on taking down do you want to bring any more of the tree with you it's just it's pruning at the same time thanks for the mud bar do i have to come around with you every time or can i trust you not to die put them in it can you what sorry can i trust you not to die i'm gonna try not to die and now we know that i can just dump it wherever i feel like it um doesn't matter you don't need to come miss you already okay i'm on my own this time i'm gonna try and do what dan said but i am really nervous about falling into the trench so this time i've stopped further from the trench which means i mean i might not get it perfectly in the middle but at least it'll be close and then i'll try and just slowly move along please keep your fingers crossed for me because i can't film this and man the dump at the same time so just hope we go to the next scene while i'm still alive and the earth still me still alive and i've managed to move forward and i'm next to the trench and i like my positioning and it's all going [Music] i well i'm on a pretty steep learning curve if i'm honest but we'll get there i can still learn i'm starting to get a strong sense of deja vu the nice thing is that we're doing a great job of clearing up on this side as well as clearing up around the chat bob how did it go the last one well if the first load was very poor i would say this was just four right so i've gone from like an e to a d i think uh so i'm heading for the heady heights of average i'm gonna see if i'm gonna see yeah no that would be nice it would be nice you guys feel like an average dumper driver yeah i'll come around and look and judge your paw that's very poor so whilst we're fapping with this i'll show you the footage of my visit to the netherlands to see phillips from yeah first i need to find my trusty driver the only person mad enough to get up this early to take me there morning daniel i bet you wait this morning this is morning have you seen it before emery's seen it i've heard good things about it yeah he raves about it i think it's overrated i'll be honest too much um but i hear something very very exciting happened overnight last night i got over 40 000 subs oh yeah finally it's been so long oh so you must be so happy to celebrate with me on this early morning drive oh we're gonna have so much fun in the car honestly it's gonna be amazing big 40 000 celebrations oh you decided we need to see out the windscreen ideally yeah i don't know you know the route really well by now don't you you could celebrate your 40 000 subs by coming to watch phillip in the dutch musical it would be a tree it would but i've many things to do but we'd have such fun yeah it's more the bum i'm looking forward to i might have forgotten to mention one little thing about the musical uh philip will apparently have his bare bottom on stage you should want to come for that alone dad no yeah no it's so tempting you know there is something to be said for all those people who rave about the beauty of mornings dan it's a really nice field yeah i feel like that field would be pretty at like midday as well no especially pretty now and that you've got me to thank for seeing it thank you so [Music] i can much like my eyes are like this big you do realize this is like the social event of the season you're missing out on the social about the season kim's gonna be there jose sabina michael potts it's not my thing no i can see his bum at any time it's not worth traveling down to chat to me about that coffee please and a little snack something fun something fun something french do you think that should be a problem i absolutely love this place and this is exactly what we need to pass us up everything's going to be okay now i have espresso for dan of pastries so i thought for you something manly pure you know just oh my god what is that i don't know but i thought it doesn't wave anything either yeah but it's always the size of your face so helpful that's brilliant uh just black coffee was it the final nail look look i just said coffee okay i'm sorry i didn't think to specify i never would because not happening are you saying this hasn't been fun this has been really fun i'll just be taking my croissant you enjoy that lovely thing i got you thanks dan bye thanks bye hot chocolate croissant balls good with the world that's a really pretty fountain they've just completely redone this area in front of the station [Music] i'm having a very french journey and thoroughly enjoying it i have a monsieur and fleet and i'm starting to get really excited about the play tonight but i think i'm more nervous than philip i've been chatting today he's really excited but i'm really nervous for him we're just arriving in amsterdam now so i'll go and check into my hotel and then i'll probably meet up with michael potts and then that's it i can get ready i'm going to see philip in the play i'm getting ridiculously excited now also i haven't seen him for ages [Music] brilliant i'm so happy to see you how are you really good in you yeah oh it's so good to be back here i was wondering if you've got which way to walk don't be silly this is so exciting it's about to start i'm here with philip's parents and andy and her daughter got to stop being nervous it's ridiculous i cannot wait to see it i've heard about it for so long i mean it's a particularly beautiful audience tonight isn't it okay yeah look at that great yellow sun is reflecting in your deep blue eyes that day has begun you spin [Music] you've basically just given me a mud bath it didn't get this dirty when i was actually planting in it i don't know what dan's doing right now you're getting quite near to the moat don't go in the moat i don't want to lose that digger daniel oh i hate this that's too close to the moat we were on such a role that obviously something had to go wrong the great thing is we never know what's going to go wrong in advance so there's that little bit of excitement in our day not knowing what it will be it turns out the battery is dead on the digger so that's today's today's little excitement yeah i just think how dull it would be if everything went smoothly all the time everything worked it'd be horrible wouldn't it it'd be horrible okay can you please jump off oh damn how much wear that kiss it is the pain of my life this how often do you use those jump leads uh every day i think we have a curse of batteries yeah because it's not just the digger is this one black well it's not red is that one red that one is red yes stephanie for god's sake you're terrible you know when you're so careful where that gear sticks going oh i must have accidentally popped it back it's again kill me oh yes despite your best efforts to kill me i know i keep trying and you're still here i don't understand where i'm going wrong dan's going to start filling all those trenches in now look at that delicate touch he's just caressing the earth do you think i've reached the heady heights of average you're getting you're getting there yeah yeah yeah i'm getting to average well we'll get everything that's around the front here okay so we can if we don't use it all here we'll at least have a little power back that's clear out the front rather than greeting the shadows yeah should we do them or should you make a cup of tea should i make a cup of tea well you were good at it last time okay so what i'm seeing right here i'm seeing me sitting on a dumper working and you just standing around watching me that's what i'm seeing and now you're asking me to stop working and go make your cup of tea if you don't mind all right tea break tea break it is actually let's go and see what uh cyril's making for dinner tonight you heard we're having a really special dinner tonight are we oh we are yeah it's someone's anniversary and birthday and so i was making a special local seasonal menu yes good having a chef about isn't it yeah it comes it does come in here last year i had a gardener chef as well um and then this year i have had to get another one because the last gardiner chef doesn't garden or chef anymore ah that is an issue when you're looking for a goat no absolutely this one only uses a dumper now yeah no a digger it only uses it beware of cyril and i'm not letting all the ladies are coming over to read cyril's menu for tonight i think that is very popular dinner on the 1st of may garden salad with shrimps goat cheese and its magic vinaigrette roast pork soy and honey sauce spinach rice and mango and strawberry cake oh they're coming they're running they're running for the menu so this is the pork this is a pork and it's marinade yes the pork from and animals are always outside together they play out the day they eat a lot of different things yes so we have local local happy pork yes we are waiting for a few hours for the marinade and after um low cook yes during four between four and five hours oh wonderful the spinach you got locally as well oh yes there is a lot in the fridge a lot um and that's from your friend's farm yes the organic organic one a few kilometers from here 15. this is delicious you have to try this [Music] oh yes emily was watching you with a smile this is his face it was a good lunch daniel fortified with prawn bisque let's get this thing done let's do it all right i'm coming around with the dumper i'm sorry i just keep getting distracted because i love this courtyard so much now and all the alliums have come up in the two days that i was away look at the difference they're all starting to open out this is one of the new little ones that we planted this year because we wanted different heights this year and lots here as well so pretty oh yeah hang on what how can i get the body and you get the head the head's the best bit you just went in straight with that right fine right and now we're picking up my attachment yeah what is this is that my roller well this is not made for this this is made for like something old so i'm just trying to attach them i'm just trying to work out how it can exist i didn't realize it wasn't a proper attachment no just found it in the garden yeah i have and it works yeah if you can get it to attach to it gorilla style gardening if is filling anyone else with confidence it's not massively filling me with confidence it's every time i work with you well i think i just feel i just go nutty i think it's a mental strain as well as a physical strain yeah easy yeah it's a thing isn't it right better not go backwards yeah don't go backwards try not to drive where you think the actual dip is oh great i know maybe go over it like so if the channel's going that way maybe go over it like that it's a maybe that worries me i'll be honest yeah i can just imagine the two front wheels just but it's a lot lighter so i can just go really slow and just go up and down and up and down and it'll all just be smooth so what we're saying is the tractor could do it so if it falls in it's my extra weight on the tractor that's the problem yeah well you shouldn't give me the little bunny then i can promise you all it's not as hard as she makes it look yay oh she finally look straight on it i don't think that thing's heavy enough it's bouncing this is not working right should we search for the gate what's the game we've got a big gate which we put rocks on and it acts as a harrow because obviously we're we can't we can only afford diggers cherry pickers tractors and lawn mowers we can't afford an old harrow so we have to make do with all these okay where is this what could possibly go i mean it's a gate is that even that's not a gate damn it's just a little bit of fencing a little bit of fencing the far too light roller and a couple of stones this is not good for my mental health it's all gone a bit sketchy all right i'm gonna try and use it and not fall into a ditch brilliant well admittedly it might need a little bit of grass seed but that is looking much better than it was so good job done now it's time to go and have dinner with our lovely guests who are celebrating our wedding anniversary and a birthday and all the greens are from the garden lettuce and asparagus inside there is there an asparagus i thought we had like one asparagus it must have been cut into minuscule pieces it's the the shrimp which cyril made today thank you can i just tell everybody that it is your birthdays and anniversary because you have the same birthday and you married on that day as well [Laughter] congratulations thank you very much 22 years together 22 years thank you okay well cheers to that cheers to love thank you very much thank you we literally have one asparagus between us all that there's a piece of asparagus we found it in the bouillon i love the way cyril uses everything yeah he's brilliant yeah look all the peacocks are coming to join us cyril your food's too good for the sauce it's a mixed of an honey and soja reduce amazing great happy birthday to you and tomorrow it's your
