Some bad advice in there for Americans. If you are American. Do not start reaching in pockets to get at the phone(cop will think what is he trying to hide/get at), do not take off your helmet (not that big of a deal but the cop will be there in a second and can direct you in what to do) do not put your hands on the tank (you have just now hidden your hands from the cop the most dangerous thing in their minds).
If you are American. Shut the bike off with the key (this turns off the tail light and lets the cop know the engine is off). Place kickstand down. Leave hands on the bars where the officer can see them. Once the cop walks up, they can direct you further if they want the bucket off or whatever they will tell you. If you want to record with your phone, just ask, 99.9999% of cops will let you get the phone out and start doing that.
I lold
I've only received one ticked on my bike. I just got a new to me ST1300 and took it out for a country ride on a early Sunday morning. Once I got comfortable with it, I tried to see what it would do on a straight two lane road.
I'm doing about 110 mph on a 60 mph road, and the next thing I know I have a cruiser with lights on behind me.
I pulled over, left my helmet on, and held on to the grips as he approached. He asked me to get off the bike, and I did. I explained it was a new bike. I found out he was also a motorcycle rider, and he wanted to know about the specs of the bike.
At the end of the event, he issued me a ticket for not having my insurance card. I had insurance, so it was simple to get it dismissed.
Being polite to cops pays off. He could have easily arrested me.
I’ve only fought 1 ticket, and it was because the officer tried to ram me assuming I was going to run.
Usually I just admit I did it, because I know I did, but this video makes a good argument toward exercising your right to make them prove it.
Never gotten a ticket on a bike period. If you're on a sportbike and you: actually stop for them; have valid license, registration, insurance; are polite and apologetic; and are wearing gear .... things will likely go well for you. I think by that point the cop is so disarmed and confused they don't know what to do. "These aren't the droids you're looking for."
That license plate at 1:09 !!!

I've never been ticked in Canada.
Been pulled over a few times though, but always just got a warning.
For me it was always just being polite to the officer, admitting that maybe I let the speed get out of hand (without admitting how fast I was going) and feeling and looking embarrassed.
Having a clean record with even no parking tickets, few cops want to ruin my clean record with something like 10km/h or 15km/h over the limit.
Since coming to the USA however, I've been pulled over and ticketed a lot more. Contesting it in court seems to work since I've never actually had a cop show up and it just gets discarded. But I swear the American Police officers will pull you over and ticket you for the slightest infraction. Once through Idaho I got pulled over while going the speed limit because the Cop wanted to make sure I knew not to go over the speed limit. Like WTF.
I've never gotten a ticket when I was innocent.
I just pay the thing, accept it as a consequence of my own choice and actions. Call it an adult skill.
tl;dr Play stupid games, accept your stupid prize like a grown up.
