the top five foods to eat in san diego now this list i compiled in accordance to how distinct the food is and the highest quality of the food now you could probably find some of these foods all over the world but it's the freshest it's the most tastiest and it's just the best out of all of san diego so we're going to start off here in point loma [Music] so leading off on the list of top five foods to eat in san diego is the fish or scallop sandwich here at point loma seafoods you can also go to mitch's seafood and try out their sandwich as well but the reason why i like going to point loma seafoods is because it's just native san diegan's favorite seafood spot and they make fresh sourdough every day and their sourdough is really popular here just love the tartar sauce and it's really really fresh so let's go inside either try out the fish sandwich or the scallop sandwich [Music] ordering here at point loma seafoods is simple you just go up to the counter order what you want pay for it and then wait for your number to be called simplicity they give it to you in this brown paper bag and uh yeah i ended up getting the scallop sandwich now they're really known for their sourdough bread so they sell their loaves of sourdough bread their day old sourdough bread over here as well that's how popular it is i usually get the fish sandwich but i've done that before in my point loma video which i'll link in the description box so today we're going to try out the scallop sandwich any sandwich here you can't go wrong they got this famous sourdough with their tartar sauce and their tartar sauce i'm telling you is on point this is the tartar sauce right here and i always pick up a bottle of mexi pep because i can't find it anywhere else i think they might have it at like a stater brothers but i picked this up every time i come over to point loma seafood so let's dig in to the scallop sandwich look at this sandwich right here oh it's amazing all right jk so they already do put tartar sauce on here but i love the extra tartar sauce so you can ask for a couple of them when you grab your sandwich it's kind of hard to get out so good thing i got this plastic knife here let's plaster it on this tartar sauce is amazing believe me also you can't go without the lemon so i'm gonna squeeze the lemon here [Music] so this is a lot so i'm gonna cut it in half we're going to go with the scallop sandwich they do provide you with mexi pep so i'm not going to waste my mexi pep that i bought from the store so bam my favorite next step ooh pour it in the scallop it's already dripping on me let's try it out wow you'd think that that scallop would be chewy but it just melts in your mouth amazing wow i love this mexican guys can't go wrong with it the sourdough is on point here love the tartar sauce wow that is some fresh seafood that is simplicity at its finest the best in san diego point loma seafood wow that is amazing guys we've got to try this out and you best believe this place has the freshest seafood from the pacific ocean with the docks being right here and all the boats spin right next to where you live so even though i'm showing you guys one place for each of the foods that we're going to try here there's other places like mitch's seafood that you can try the fish sandwich and other amazing fresh seafood so if you want an alternative to pokemon seafood head over here to mitch's so the best place to get carne asada in my opinion because of the taste and the flavor and the fries as well is here at mike's taco club now this made number one in my california burrito list but i wanted to highlight the carne asada that they have here so i'm gonna get the carne asada fries and we're gonna try it out somewhere else because it's on and popping back here and i don't think i'll be able to get a decent food review back here [Music] so mike's taco club as usual is on and poppin so i got the bag let's go over to the beach and try it out over there unfortunately jaycationers after i picked up the carne asada fries from mike's taco club i went over to utc beautiful area for me to try out the carne asada fries and show you guys just how good it is it turns out my new camera my zve 10 was set on slow motion mode and i recorded that whole segment in slow motion so you're just going to have me here at a park talking about the carne asada fries over at mike's taco club and all over san diego you can find carne asada fries at all the great mexican joints around here the reason why i chose mike's taco club was because of their amazing thick french fries that are seasoned and their carne asada marinade is amazing you love it i gotta love it i mean that was my number one for california burritos now i also had a carne asada burrito just recently at el cotihan which is my go-to place because it's near my my house i just love carne asada fries and if you're in san diego you're not going to get carne asada anywhere else in the world other than mexico and san diego the quality that they have here in san diego is the best and mike's taco club definitely does it best no doubt you can see me enjoying these carnes are fries rubio who spent his summers over in baja california and brought it back and now rubio's is a big fish tacos chain here in san diego but we're not going to be going to rubios today i want to take you to the best and most fresh seafood spot that has fish tacos and that's blue water grill here on india street in downtown or near downtown san diego so let's go inside try out one of the best fish tacos i've tried this before in petro park over at their stall on the right field line let's check it out [Music] all right jaycationer so we got the two fish tacos one is the yellowtail one is a swordfish i got one with lemon butter and i got the other one with chipotle they give you your limes here as well and it comes with all the toppings the tomatoes the cabbage chives white dressing oh it looks really good yeah let's dig into one of these and of course they give you all the condiments got the tabasco sauce here there you go we got the lime here single corn tortilla here let's try it out and that's so fresh this is so good all the flavors mashed together you got the fresh fish right here with the spiciness and then the limeyness it's so good the thickness of this fish taco is amazing for seven bucks not bad this one's the storage fish with the chipotle wow this is so good you also definitely get way more than you would at petco park because obviously you're doing the stadium food and you're getting the pressures of the fresh here at blue water off india street that's some of the best fish i've had wow thumbs up those were some of the freshest fish tacos i've ever is that you got el indio here lucha libre is just down the street you got new york pizza starlight lounge and the regal beagle which is a hot dog slash bar spot that's really cool if you spin the wheel they'll give you like a random beer and some some food some tater tots maybe some hot dogs so go check that out as well but blue water amazing best of the best in san diego in terms of seafood now let's move on to the next top food to try here in san diego want another option for fish tacos check out south beach here in ob overlooking the ob pier one of the best views to have a fish taco next on the list for top five foods to eat while in san diego are avocados now avocado toast is a specialty all over the world but did you know that san diego grows 60 percent of the avocados in california and california amounts to 90 percent of the nation's avocado growth now there are no seasons for avocados it's year-round so you're going to be guaranteed to have great avocados here in san diego throughout the year you can find them on avocado stands on the sides of the streets on the way to the casinos there's a farmers markets so you can find avocados and there's no shortage of it here in san diego and one of the best places to grab avocado toast is s3 coffee bar here in mission gorge we're going to go inside and try out some amazing avocado toast and maybe even have a coffee [Music] this is some of the most beautiful presented food i've seen this is the avocado toast they have many mozzarella cheese pearls micro greens pepper himalayan salt and balsamic vinegar dressing it's on top of a sourdough bread look at this they even have like a pretty cool photo phone book here i also got the rainbow latte and even though this isn't a coffee video i had to feature this look how colorful it is it's got some sprinkles and a really nice beautiful leaf that's green aqua colored and blue wow this is amazing let's try it out [Music] oh that is a tasty tasty latte wow nice and sweet already oh this is perfect all right so we got the balsamic drizzle in here with the mini mozzarella cheese pearls you all know how much i love avocado toast so let's try it out check that out i already dropped the avocado but let's try it out you can have avocado in very different ways here in san diego now smashed up avocados on sourdough bread is my go-to mom cajun dad kitchen know how to make this is pretty good i also love the guacamole here in san diego that's why everywhere you go even burger joints they offer avocado as extra 75 cents is usually the price you'd pay to put it in a burger or something guacamole is amazing as well you also add guacamole to a lot of your foods so good the mixture of balsamic vinegar in this with the avocado oh that's amazing that's a winner this place looks pretty cool too a lot of people are here doing work on their laptops we're really close to san diego state just down the road my former college my alma mater i love the mini mozzarella balls here oh yeah i could ask for some tabasco sauce because i love putting hot sauce on my avocado toast but we'll just go with it this way today two thumbs up that avocado toast was amazing now we're gonna polish off this rainbow latte and head to the next spot all right jaycationer so that's as healthy as you're gonna get on this top five food list in san diego are avocados had to show the avocado some love i even have a luggage tag shaped as an avocado so i can decipher my luggage when i pick it up when i'm traveling around the world all right let's move on to the next spot all right jaycationer so we're at the final spot on the top five foods to eat in san diego now the berria craze is all over the country but san diego does it right now i'm only four exits away from the tijuana san diego border the u.s mexico border just after imperial beach we're here at ed fernandez restaurant and they make the beria here with quality and they make it correctly handmade tortillas they got tacos casabiria molitas and we're gonna try some of it over here i'm telling you and there are a few other places in san diego that do it amazing as well there's quiero tacos and then the place over in ramona los rancheros so there are a few places here that do beeria correctly and those are just a few that i have mentioned i'm telling you there's a lot of places that you can find it around san diego and that's why i had to feature it in this san diego top five foods to eat now let's go to the order counter make the order and then pick up the food and try it out so you can do phone orders over here and do your phone order pick up but if you want to just walk in you order here in two or three and then you pick up at four it's an old school building here only four exits away from tijuana and we're going to try it all out because apparently this is the best spot for berria in san diego all right education here so we're here we got the birya molita right here with the handmade tortilla and the consummate right here you can buy all this this is this is tasty i'm telling you it comes with the sides and i even asked for the greens and the onions on the side got your hot sauce look at this this is amazing check that out there's your beer looks so good with some cheese i can't wait to try this out dip it in the consummate amazing look at that [Applause] all right let's try this out let's try not to be messy put some hot sauce on here i need to roll my sleeves up right now hot sauce is good on point the meat is on point cheese handmade tortilla and this consummate is amazing here's the quesabilia [Applause] former hot sauce this is what you call thick thick they pound on the berea look at that [Music] hot got the onions the lunch room cheese yes please wow finally i got five of the regular birya tacos obviously they're not all for me i'm going to bring some home to mom kitchen and dad cation so i'm just going to try out one of them they're double tortilla rat they're about 290. looks really good dip it in here nice crisp on the outer shell of the tortilla this is amazing wow all right two thumbs up now i'm just gonna sit down and enjoy the rest of this meal another note on ed fernandez berelia is that they're only open five days a week from seven a.m to two p.m so make sure you're there early in the day so don't come there mondays or tuesdays because
