Please note that this website is currently a work in progress! Lots of interesting data and statistics to come.
Here is the test project that was talked about before. Just a recap: The crowdfunding raised $2.2 million but there was also at least another $2 million for installation costs and public grants.
Again Thunderf00t? Haven't you made like 20 videos already comprehensively debunking this crap? Let it go dude. Move on.
And if you do feel the need to do another one, please don't fill it with the same promotional crap and Nathon Fillion talking head you do everytime.
It's not surprising that a lot of "big on feelings, short on facts" environmentalists would fall for this, but it's a real travesty that tax dollars got spent on such obvious nonsense.
Isn't thunderfoot the guy with the unhealthy obsession about Anita sarkesian.
Why doesn't he mention that dirt and rubber from tires as well as motor oil will obscure the surface of the panels incredibly quickly? That fact alone makes this entire concept a non-starter in my estimation and yet here we are 4 million dollars later
The way that things put together definitely makes it more of an art installation piece than an actual feat of engineering.
I don't know the exact price of asphalt per square meter, but I've got to assume it's closer to cents than dollars so that's a huge hurdle any kind of road tech is going to be up against straight away.
Over time, most things could be figured out, but the investment to develop something like this is going to be in billions of dollars over many many years. It's out of the league of kickstarter.
He was clearly out of ideas after trying to jump across it.
Here is the rest of the bullshit.
