Wow crazy amount of progress in this episode! Must be a very different feeling for Brent having all these guys running around in newly opened caves, compared to it just being him and Johnny usually.

Man I am REALLY enjoying Heavy D's videos a lot more than I expected.

Pity that the Omega was a bust but man that Newtown mine mission was such a rush to see!

[Music] [Music] [Music] ladies and gentlemen welcome back to sarah gordo part number i believe this is three the first one we came and and you know did our little run around checked out the place number two we brought all of our equipment across death valley and number three here we are at cerro bordeaux with our equipment with the man himself mr brent underwood brent we got a lot of work to do i'm excited this is big day coming yeah uh i've been trying to do this for a very long time to see the equipment come up here maybe the most exciting day ever here yeah i was excited getting the cement truck and everything else up here with no issues it was awesome so what you guys can expect to see in this video is kind of what's going into building the hotel as far as like digging the footing setting up the forms getting ready to pour the concrete because it's not as easy as just getting up here and dumping concrete like this is a full-blown like it's it's an inspected build this is not a backyard build because it's going to be a commercial property you know hotel you guys are probably going to stay at so we got to make sure it lasts for another few hundred years it's a whole yeah couple hundred years and uh i was hoping to have a little more prep done before you guys came here but you know what you guys got it done i told you we're here to do whatever it takes to get the hotel footage forward and get you on the fast track to getting it done so that's what you guys can expect to see in this video uh we're gonna be all over the place we're jumping in and out of mines we're jumping in and out of equipment we're making the most of our time here at cerro gordo with brent as the most fantastic tour guide you'll ever meet so hey i found something come take a look check it out [Music] hey guys it's minnie d listen i got something to show you and this is going to blow your mind you see right here i have a list of all of you that have bad credit and never got a hold of credit mri yet i don't i don't really have that list well because that would be an invasion of privacy and minnie d he can't go back to jail ain't going back but what i do have here is an actual review from one of you who decided to use credit mri to help you with your bad credit let me just read it for you real quick credit mri is the best they've helped remove old negative accounts that held me down from improving and even applying for credit i started with a credit score of 400 within one year it was 600 and now i have credit score of 760 i purchased a new truck this year with just my credit thank you credit mri you've helped change my credit and my life i strongly recommend credit mri guys that's a real review from somebody who watched our videos had bad credit went to credit mri and wham bam your credit's better thank you ma'am we trust them and they're continuing to provide solid results and here's the best thing about them you don't pay a dime until they actually fix your credit they're not gonna be like hey give us a hundred bucks 200 bucks and then maybe we'll get to work now they're like all right give us your information we'll go to work oh guess what remove this we remove that now you pay the invoice after they do the work nobody else in the credit repair industry does that guys i strongly suggest you give them a shot okay here's what they're gonna do they're gonna give all of you anybody who watches the heavy duty youtube channel they're gonna give you 20 off your first invoice and you're not gonna get an invoice until they actually start removing negative items guys it's a no-brainer it's literally the best thing you can possibly do for your credit so do me a favor click the link in my description below go over the website schedule appointment talk to them and get your name off this naughty list because you're on here [Music] you heard the man click the link in the description i gotta pour some concrete my name is brad underwood uh i am the owner here at ceremonies and uh trying to get hotel build so the goal is to get material supplies concrete everything that we need to rebuild the american hotel with mr brent underwood yeah the plans are approved both the building and operating permit for the american hotel super exciting yeah uh that's one thing but actually carrying out those plans is a totally different thing and when you're this high in the mountains yeah yeah we're at the end of a pretty steep grade you know the problem is it's not that you're just at the top of a mountain but the mountain you chose is hundreds of miles away from any mega metropolis so when you're talking about materials and supplies it's not like you can run down to town right because town is like a one horse town where you're not gonna find much about plus just to pay a picture it's not paved right yeah we're dealing with dirt roads yes it's going to upgrade that uh right now we're staying about 8 500 feet in elevation yeah so it's a no joke so basically we brought a lot of equipment tools um and machines to be able to help get the job done we also brought about nine guys including myself to be able to do whatever it takes plus you already have some people on hand i've probably got five guys here that every weekend luckily we get volunteers right here at cerro gordo and so i think together plus rebar crew right so we got maybe let's call it 20 all in people here on site trying to get this thing done so our biggest challenges uh with this project in general are steep hills high temperatures uh rugged terrain uh vehicles that are gonna potentially overheat break down be overloaded uh there are all sorts of challenges just getting the materials to the top that's not even factoring in the actual work that has to be done which is mixing concrete pouring it doing all that other stuff so logistically this is one of the most challenging projects i've ever been a part of good morning guys welcome to day number or video number three of the cerro gordo ghost town so today and in this video we are going to start the process of moving cement and rebar and all sorts of other supplies up the mountain we also brought two uh big machines the loader and the excavator which we're gonna be doing a lot of site prep with uh we're not ready to pour yet today because we have the rebar that has to be installed and then we have to get an inspection done and then the tomorrow is realistically when we'll start mixing and pouring so today you're going to see us do all sorts of different stuff like this for example this right here is an area that we're leveling off because this is all the backfill from basically where they excavated the hotel out um right now dave and a couple other guys are down in the five tons loading up rebar to bring it up to meet up with the rebar guys and start getting that installed um once we're kind of set here then i think we're gonna take these big machines over to one of the mines i think we're gonna go to the omega mine which i think i showed you guys in the very very first video the one that brent started digging into but he stopped because he found the entrance but he didn't want to like collapse anymore he didn't have the right equipment now we have the right equipment so we're gonna go over there and see if we can expose that mine shaft [Music] [Music] to [Music] how are you feeling good sounds like progress out here i've never seen this many people working at the hotel site ever so uh i think we're getting there you know i might not be the person to ask but it seems that way i'm gonna go check in and see what's going on [Music] how's it going hands first to give this uh scale on like the meat scale let's say right now it's real rare like it's frozen yeah we're at the beginning stages which isn't a good sign because by now i wanted to be like a nice like medium rare like but we're we're definitely rare like you rip it open because it's just so frozen it just yeah not good not good not going well not going well [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] great [Music] [Applause] i'm almost [Music] it's funny that the rangers i had a camera in each hand i couldn't i couldn't grab anything [Music] the rebar was like a there's a separate company bringing the rebar and they know they i was talking to them through a middleman and you know words get turned around and rebar didn't come on time that's fine came a day later and then it came to my understanding they were bringing the rebar up but that became we'll bring the rebar to the bottom of the mountain and it'll once again beyond heavy duty rebar i'll tell you what i think that's going to be a common theme throughout this whole process yeah you're going to have people that are going to say they'll bring it to you but they mean to the bottom that seem that that seems to be the key i think i think your next investment might need to be probably one of these five-ton cargo trucks i think it is they're i mean they're four or five grand they're easy to buy yeah they're they're great because i don't really actually want to run them from the back you know that's it you need it if you need a truck they'll just go up and down the canyon that's that's probably what that's gonna be um so one good thing about the rebar though after we got it hauled up in the five tons i took two or three trips let me tell you the most beautiful sound in the world it's when i hear spanish you hear a little bit of spanish speaking in the background you know what that means that means it's about to get done so uh three-man crew um some mexican guys from l.a came up and legitimately like these guys just put on their put on their glasses and their long sleeve shirts and they just went to town we still have a foundation to pour but uh apparently we just got word that the foundation or the concrete that we were ordering it has been delayed um the company that was delivering it no longer wants to deliver it or something like that something stupid so we could be a couple of days or weeks before well if it's weeks we're just going to go get ourselves because from it's down to corona the corona is like 200 miles from here so it's a 400 mile round trip and you can only carry 15 16 bags per semi so not ideal for us to have to transport it ourselves because that's just regular over-the-road trucking and we were hoping the concrete company would do it but it might come down to that so we'll see we'll see what they say so as far as work goes on the footings um we're pretty much at a standstill right now until the rebar can catch up and some of the forms and other stuff so running equipment we don't really need it right now down to the hotel but we can use it to uncover some of these old mine shafts which are plentiful where are going gonna start the omega that's right and the omega is the one that potentially leads into the union line which is something i've been working on for six months yeah but uh if it leads in it's huge you know this is the biggest mine here and this is opens up a maze of 30 miles of mines that's ultimately the reason why i decided to bring the bigger equipment because after our first trip out here seeing what you've been doing with the back home realizing how much dirt need to be moved that's why i got the big track co here so i think the next step is track the track the machine all the way over the other side of the mountain and start moving some serious dirt i'm in the track co uh jax is in the loader and it's time to move the mountain so the omega mine um is roughly level 200 right right yep um level 200 of this mine sucks it's just nasty like clay really loose garbage dirt it's not like some of the nice rock tunnels you're seeing so there's no wonder there was a huge cave in there you know that's obviously the area where the collapse happened years ago where the the miners died um so obviously we're dumb enough to want to get in there and see what's going on so the first thing that we got to do to be able to even look at the omega is uncover the entrance and the entrance is buried uh as far as digging goes i think i've moved probably i don't know i'll call it three four hundred tons of dirt um just to move just to clear the entrance um but there is light you can't really say light at the end of the tunnel when you're looking into the tunnel there's darkness in the tunnel which is a good sign it's actually a weird feeling you're digging in the mountain and all of a sudden you see like a dark hole and you're like yes so weird yes but if anything happens scratches have an entry if anything happens i need you to run and grab a hand if this opening collapses you need to run as fast as you can get somebody to operate this hoe just open it he's coming with us so you are our lifeline robin hands know how to if not you can figure it out i could just don't leave us for a hundred years make first sure in a really long time right first time someone's ben's mine in a hundred years yeah i mean this thing's been collapsed for a hundred years right yeah think about all the things that have passed and said world war world war two vietnam all these different things that air is real thick heads up oh my gosh dude brent this is rad dude this is as good as it gets this is as good as it's going to get picked through over the years this is a virgin we got a little bit of a cleavering situation ahead of us it was pretty clean oh they covered up the whole thing dude that's how you know this has not been touched yeah wow you feeling jack it's thick make some of your funny noises it's thick i'm in the belly of the beast no mountain shall conquer this man there's no only one thing shall bring me to my knees and emanated from your rear end no disappointments that's all i got davis you're rolling remember when you were in elementary school and you took and you built a time capsule and you buried it and you dug it up a year later it's like that but a million times cooler because you're dealing with stuff that's been underground for 100 years and the neat thing about being underground is it preserves things pretty well because underground the weather's pretty nice i am rolling don't bump the timbers do not bump the timbers shiver me timbers see these tracks we've got rails in the ground check that out uh not done yet yeah not done yet hell yeah all right so this right here makes you wonder what the hell is going on down here the weight of the earth is on these timbers because this timber is just bowed out obviously the earth above it starts to shift uh it's all just clay it's just not stable at all so being in here is a huge risk can we just get a little shot of what's up here there you can is there another collapse or you uh there's another class beyond this yeah i'm gonna hang here okay [Music] i don't know how i would have reacted had we actually been able to enter the tomb of where these miners were collapsed because they don't know whether it was like a tunnel that fell on them or whether it's a giant room they were stopping out that just fell on them like these guys could be anywhere [Music] the interesting thing to me was thinking about the the concept of time underground none of these miners have watches uh and when you're underground you have no daylight so you literally just you just don't know you could you could think that your shift's almost over and you've only been working for two hours like that to me is probably the most bizarre component of underground mining back in the day because you're just under there like a lot of these miners probably once they were down at level whatever they were coming out to the end of the ship yeah they're there 12 hours [Music] the second line yeah it was in mind that like i hope that leads into the 86 level right which is the first level of mine it was one you can see it's a little closer to the hoist yeah i've seen timberings i knew there was a mineshaft there i knew basically nothing about it except for there was once a mine there right so honestly like the second time we started digging i was like you know what let's give our best shot who knows what happens right we start digging we start seeing more timbering more timbering some of the top started falling away and then it revealed itself there was that little tiny pocket opens up and looked back and there's this timbering as far as you can see so i remember just like we get a kid in the candy store no this is it this is it there was a lot of excitement about around that one all your guys here johnny everybody just like doping you got guys using their phones as flashlights like when you open a mine like that it's hard to not want to just go and get in there like obviously the smart thing to do is get your gear get your hard hat get you everything like that but i'm just gonna have one bite of that dessert right just have a little bite and then you're gonna just just one more bite it's not gonna be that big of a deal two bites next thing you know you're 300 yards deep in a mine shaft there's a door right here's a nice one there's a really nice one there we go oh it's a powder room you got some dynamite back in there what are these cables for yeah let's hope they aren't uh fuses no they're not symmetrical look at that ball wedger forfeit 416 1950 burton wilder that is cool with the names and dates right there keep going right there this way we're going all right we got some track right here oh wow collapse collapsed yeah damn well there's a long track there's track going back how's this it's exciting this is a big big little level we just found a dynamite room a little too skinny for my buddy that door is so awesome 1925 yeah is that what it says on there [Applause] anybody have a leatherman a knife i have a knife not a leatherman you need oh not touching anything i wouldn't touch anything yeah diesel dave look now you got a matching uh oh nice souvenir here you go good fine did you find it in tobacco yeah yeah yes tobacco is prepared for smokers under the process discovered this place is awesome yeah this is super cool have you gone that way yet what's that not yet yeah you haven't seen the door yet no i'll go check out the glass door wow that's awesome 1925. that's the mexicans in here blasting wow dude that's cool paul weiger 1950 there's wilder on there top top row so the latest dates were the 50s burton mary wilder april 16 1950 bomb shelter now that's pretty cool what's up crowd in the door i think that's that's our next addition to the museum yeah the blast over here yeah that's cool the uh excavators sorry about that thanks what poor bastard was in here and talk slowly doors with flathead screws diesel dave's ancestors i'm doing his work that seemed like something i would do i didn't use i might use the easier tools it's gonna be a problem do they sign it by burning it got a carbide length first my head just popped right off that's pretty cool if you want to check that out you just leave that light this belongs to the museum take it yeah perfect everyone gets to take one thing from the mine that's the mine rules yeah got it should we choose one mineral do we get all of it well that's what you did you guys got the tobacco you got the other little one i guess johnny find anything new back there oh nothing just hard that's pretty sweet huh johnny yep it's not very convenient to hold on right all right dad we should be bringing the expert in here just right through here if you could and that one actually ended up even though it was collapsed in both directions we ended up finding a blast door yeah which is awesome it'll stay here in this museum for the rest of time just like this door behind us basically they would build these doors um to block off little dead-end mine tunnels or the little uh entrances because they would build rooms for the dynamite and then they'd have to put door on it to be able to protect that dynamite so really cool to find that it's crazy the date on it was october 1920 that was the last last like big day i remember at the bottom of it he sent it b all right guys so we exposed two mine shafts today uh the first one was the omega mine we got in about 200 yards before it was to collapse to be able to proceed however there's still air flowing through it and we saw an area where if we dig you know for another day or so could probably continue on but it looks like it was just that level of the mind was super super nasty dirt just really uh soft like clay and so it's collapsing all over the place you can see the miners are having troubles with the collapses because there's like when they shore up the wall to timbers there's areas where there's like double triple shoring so they're just like constantly fighting these cave-ins so it's not a surprise that you know over 100 years that's been caved in the second entrance was to level 86 and uh that's another area that brent has never exposed before and we cut it open really quick using this big track hoe and we found an entrance got in and it basically made a split um one way went straight which was probably the main tunnel to the elevator and it was just just a little too collapsed to be able to proceed through there there's a little bit of a hole but it's just a little too tight and then off to the right um it kind of meandered through a couple other other caves but we did find an old blasting door they said basically they would carve out these rooms where they would store the dynamite and they would put these doors on them to protect the dynamite from explosions and stuff like that so at this point we've opened two mine shafts and i've got the bug like i said it's really exciting and i just want to keep going so i asked brandon i'm like dude is there anything else that we want to try to uncover and he's like ah there's this there's that and i kind of see him thinking and then he's just kind of like i think that might be it and he's like oh no there's this one that you can just go check out so we ride the the four wheeler and the dirt bike down there and he shows me and it's pretty unassuming when you when you roll roll up to it kind of a small tailings pile but it's one of those deals where it's like you can see it goes into the mountain but it's way collapsed so he's like if you want to do it if not whatever so i was like we'll see now i understand your life just chasing chasing rabbit holes always curious always curious wondering what what's in that one what's in that one over and over and over again i gotta know what's in this one well you gotta understand that from where the trackhoe was to where this mine is probably a solid well probably just just shy of a mile but it is gnarly gnarly terrain like we're talking like this is stuff that the four wheeler and the motorcycle have a hard time getting up and down and uh i just i just the thing is in the track co is when you're only going three to four miles an hour every shortcut you can take makes a big difference so i kind of just drew a line straight from where the track was parked to the other side of the mountain and just went up and over and over some crazy terrain and just started digging i don't think anybody even knew i was down there i was just kind of digging away and then somehow some way i didn't i didn't know i thought you thought about it and said i had no not today so i was at my cabin then i was like oh we'll see what's going on so i go over i remember just looking and you're smiling like ear to ear like a madman with dust all over your face you caked in dust swinging around like a thousand miles an hour and then like i remember looking and then you start to see those timbers yeah the timbers start revealing themselves i remember you stopped you're like pointing at it and i was like all right then i was in i was like all right i'm here for the show so this is this is a different mine than the union mine the main mine that we've been kind of accessing um this is called the newtown mine newtown mine is is is actually the older um part of the mining yeah that happened on this mountain so 1860s yep correct uh and the cool thing about the the newtown line is it's a mine that you've not spent much time in not too much you know there's there's three different sections of the new town there's the upper middle and lower we are towards the lower and i've read about it briefly in books but after seeing that entrance that we had seen right no way i'm getting in there yeah it just looked like it literally just looked mountain right you know the only reason that we thought there was a mine there is because there's some cribbing and a little bit of trap coming out yeah but beyond that it had been pretty much out of my mind because i had no way to get in yeah it was a solid probably two hours worth of heavy heavy excavating for me to get that thing out and um i didn't close the doors on the track up for some reason i don't know why i didn't do that all right guys as you can see i'm dirty i'm a little exhausted but i'm still super super excited about uncovering old mines we're on my number three for the day and i found the entrance see the tailings pile led me right to a hole in the mountain which has been you know caved in but i'm finding timbers in there which means in a minute here i'll probably find an opening which means i'll probably find a cave or a mine which means i'll probably end up going inside there and i'm really hoping this one's not collapsed i'm hoping this one leads to the main mine i'm really tired of uncovering collapsed mine shafts we found a big hole and there's a lot of wind coming through that like a full-blown like gust of wind [Music] you ready i got to knock the top off a little bit because it's starting to cave in on me but this might be a good one gonna flip oh geez again you guys know the rules if it caves in on me get me out holy crap dude the air coming out of here is literally rushing out you guys feel that that's wild like so we've uncovered this is our third mine we've uncovered today and the other two had a lot of air coming through them like a decent gust this is a full blown like like this is a wind storm coming out of here which is a great sign because it means that it connects to something hopefully there's no collapses uh tunnel looks really good the entrance looks a little precarious but not too worried about that but if it collapses get me out okay yeah hang tight real quick go for your way in there buddy oh wow all right guys this mine shaft has not been entered jeez what is that that's a dead fox or something that is a fox yeah because my shaft has not been entered in a long long time and it's looking significantly more promising than the other ones it's still got the old war cart rail system around through here and man there's long hair oh you can see the ladders we love ladders there's a cave that way oh rent another one we're in another oh my god bro they go it keeps going this is deep i know how you feeling right now you feel really good it's a three for three today third time's the charm huh let's do it all right let's go this is the deepest we've got so far this is deeper than it's the most airflow for sure man look at that wow i almost didn't come down here too i could i knew that's why i thought you were gonna originally call it so i can't wait for the cabin but when i get the word out yeah bro this is a soul this is solid which is not the infinities i need to drink how about that yeah [Music] this is bad the best one yet oh in the end that's it yeah where's that air coming from there's about that ladder it's a probably back up yeah check that out up we go oh man this is cool this is exciting don't mind if i do all this stuff is just glistening you see all this rock yeah look at this i wonder what that is totally different than uh the omega one in there yeah what is that gold here we go all right that's where all the air is coming from yeah yeah is there anything this way to be left we haven't looked yet oh there's probably a stop up there huh yeah the tunnel picks up again to the right over here nice let me uh break something i'm gonna deaden this tunnel over here real quick oh dude come here you're gonna like this oh dude down there we found the basement bro we got ladder all the way down there get the rope oh let's go this way nothing over here that's a serious serious job right here all right this one's vertical straight down whoa that's an adventure nice one [Music] wow is that just a straight vertical drop as far as i can see nice probably of rickety ladder okay um they've done a good job touring it up yeah like a lot of this stuff yep but uh i'm pretty sure it goes down cuts left there's another level down there that's incredible that thing goes forever it goes vertically up and down both ways further than we could go right now without ropes and stuff so i think the plan might be to go get some different gear uh i'm gonna shore up the entrance a little bit better and then uh i think we might climb through there and try to try to see where it goes because there's a lot more mine than we expected it's a big mine yeah that's cool there's ladders all kinds of wild stuff in there and it's like nothing like the other ones we've been in today the other ones were just entrances that got collapsed this one is like full blown like you see where they were stopping and like clearing out giant rooms so there's rooms where like i'd shine the flashlight up and i couldn't even see as far as flash i could go so all right gonna go back in there yeah here okay i'm gonna i'm gonna open the entrance a little bit better all right i'll head back back back we've got some gear stuff you guys know so um i'm covered in dust just exhausted literally been breathing dust for last two to three hours but i showed brent the opening he runs up and grabs uh some hard hats and harnesses and that kind of stuff and we go for it but it would have to be like some hours like three yeah well just a little more involved but i'm not going to go all the way deep you know what i'm saying like yeah i don't know what direction i'd say four hours if nobody pops out then start making it all right point no return oh what the frick little fox he burrowed his way in i couldn't get out you did go the wrong way uh yeah yep yep but then it goes straight vertical goes to a vertical ladder uh should we start going down now where the vertical [Applause] don't try to go down the vertical until i look at the rope because it is definitely not it doesn't look too trustworthy so we're headed down in the belly belly the beast totally we go in and this mine is going deep like this is probably the most exciting one for me because there's no it's not there's no dead ends it's still going the old mine uh the old orcar track is still in there and uh we're feeling this is probably the mind with the most air rushing through like a full-blown like gust of wind is coming through this mine which means it's open somewhere um and as we get in there we found all sorts of different areas to explore and um so in this mine the we first decided to go down to see how deep it went um and basically i think what we found was an area that they were stopping which means an area where they found a big vein of minerals and there was just digging high and low and above and and everywhere and it's not necessarily like a passageway to another part of the mind it's just an area where they were just digging digging digging until there was no more mineral so i went all the way down probably close to 100 feet maybe 80 feet um worth of kind of rickety old ladders and i was using the the rope um and got down to the very bottom and it looks like this is the end of the road as far as this section of the mine like i don't think they went any further down or out unless there's like an entrance that had been collapsed or something but um next we got to go up so i had to climb back up to 100 feet to where these guys were let them know what we saw down there and then from there that was kind of a junction point to where we could go up now because i had just gone obviously down so um that was the same level that we had come in on on the entrance so now it's time to go up yeah i remember going up because the first time we went in there we looked up you went a couple feet but it was like pure rock climbing right you know there's no ladders there's no ledge you're kind of like straddling both sides but that's like yeah it's spiderman so you're having like spiderman up and i remember watching you about 20 feet up without anyone you know and then like rocks are falling down you know they're probably now we got these baseball-sized rocks going there pastor over his head and the second time i mean you also didn't have a rope in the second time you had to bring the rope i took the rope with you for everyone else yeah but i felt going up is not the hard part it's coming down that i was worried about so taking the rope with me took it to the very top found a bunch of big timbers up there and i'm seeing more passageways still everywhere so i lash off the uh the rope and get these guys throw it down to them all the guys climb up and we're off again like just it's splitting in every direction so we're cruising we're checking things out and then all of a sudden i see a little light and i'm the only one up there and i'm like brent i'm pretty sure i just found a freaking an exit here and he's like what comes up and sure enough there's like three entrances right there that were just totally hidden in the hillside i understand i mean i've gone by that a thousand times well the thing is they were they were like vertical entrances right they're vertical and like the strawberries around right yeah so if you're unless you're up on that level right you're not gonna see them no and so they're just hidden and like that's why you're feeling so much air you're coming in there going down yeah it's a good thing performing mine for sure yeah um so we started we went in and call it at level i don't know let's call it ground zero where we went in and we climbed up we ended up popping out above that probably 200 feet roughly and the neat thing about this is there's still a lot more holes that we found in that area of the mountain that you couldn't really see from the road you've never seen them so there's still a lot more exploring to do over there and i remember when we were going down the first part there was more galena than i've seen in ireland for sure the ceiling was still full of galena that obviously they're finding a big ore buck or body yeah but this didn't go all of it out right probably wasn't worthwhile at the time there's still like huge chunks of silver all in the top of that well when i was climbing the ladder down to the first level um there's one of the miners or somebody had left a giant chunk of galena on the ladder it's like they were on their way out with it and they just left it like a huge chunk it was just super heavy so there's some definitely good stuff in there still yeah so the very last thing that we did um on day one was you have kind of a trash pit where a bunch of old stuff hundreds of years worth of miners garbage yeah and every town has to have its own landfill which obviously sailboard is no different so big pit there um full of uh i'm not talking like like reckless trash i'm talking like like cabins and buildings metal and wood basically so basically best thing to do with that obviously you can't haul it off the mountain bury it so you had a lot of stuff in there there's lots of i remember again here here's an excavator running and then i was like where's dave this time so we're looking around the mountain whether you're going into mine we look up in your you're on this cliff like quite literally a cliff of tailings that i'm looking at these rocks going down tumbling down almost all the way into town yeah and i'm like uh somebody you know and reporting and then suddenly just like as anything a group form is watching you know like everybody's kind of accumulating and ten of us are just watching you on this cliff just swinging around like a madman and it was awesome i mean you got it done work to do yeah um so that was that was basically the kind of the end of the night there actually the end of the night was when i popped the tire on the loader um that kind of ended things and so day two um is obviously a lot more of the same getting the footings and foundations ready just a ton of prep work a couple things we're gonna do today finish filling in the landfill kind of level off the tailings piles up at the top by the union mine also we're going to put brent through uh heavy d's uh school of excavation and uh this is his first time running a real um excavator big hoe um and it's amazing right i can't wait seeing how much fun you have with it if i have one tenth that much fun it'll be the most fun thing i do up here so i'm ready uh i've never run anything that big it looks a little intimidating but i'm stoked on it so um we got brent in the in the trackhoe jumped in it was a natural he started kind of working on filming the landfill meanwhile jax is running the loader moving just a ton of dirt like i'm telling you like hundreds and hundreds of tons of dirt to be able to kind of level off because that's gonna be a parking area eventually um for people when they come to town so basically day two consisted of a lot of excavation a lot of dirt moving um a lot of uh just anything that we can do with the equipment while it's here um while we're finishing up the footings and the rebar and that kind of stuff and just pretty much prepping everything so that when we come back next week we can pour the concrete hey mama let me tell you about a song that the minor sing comes from a woman's moans in the bend of the guitar strings some say it sounds just like the devil jingle and coins in his pocket yeah i say it sounds a whole lot more like a pistol when you it oh
