stand if you will for the reading of our scripture you could probably quote this one Philippians chapter 1 and verse 6 beyond the overheads for you being confident of this very thing he which has begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ listen to it from the amplified and I am convinced and sure of this very thing that he who has begun a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ right up to the time of his return developing that good work and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you message Bible reads there has never been thus loudest slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this great work in you would keep at it and bring it to flurry flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears New King James being confident of this very thing that he who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ let's pray today Lord we thank you for the promise of your word it lives you breathe life into it so it is alive in this room right now you have promised to anoint our ears to hear to hear what you are saying to the church and we ask for that anointing to be fresh upon every ear that is in the room today or those watching in media around this world Lord let the anointing to hear today be amplified God so we understand you and your ways I pray for the anointing of Samuel that not one word that I speak fall to the ground challenge and change us correct us if we need it because us to grow in maturity hearing what you say and causing a faith to rise in our in our heart Lord to live for you in these times anoint this message in Jesus name Amen may be seated I want to talk to you today about confidence confidence it is one of the most powerful traits that humans can exemplify it was a trait that was exemplified by all of our heroes of faith that we see in the scriptures though many did not start out that way in fact most do not start out that way in fact for many of our heroes of the faith they kind of started out shaky and intimidated but confidence is it's a powerful human trait that we see it's got to be cultivated it's got to be grown a bit it doesn't start out this great confidence we feel our way along and then confidence begins to build because it is cultivated through relationship it is cultivated by trust simply put the more I trust and the more I walk with the Lord the more confident I become it's like you can't draw close to God and not become more confident it's what I was referring to earlier at the conference this weekend we were pushing into to the presence of the Lord and we were hearing what he was saying and confidence began to rise you can't draw close to the Lord and not become more and more confident more confident in spiritual things or natural things either one more confident in life more confident in your vocation individually confidence it affects your talents it will affect your gifts it will affect your your abilities corporately confidence affects a body of people it can affect a workplace it can affect a team of people that are pushing for a certain goal or destiny and of course it affects the body of Christ as well it affects the church it affects our stand it affects our faith there's a lot being said in our times right now because of the conditions of our world concerning confidence the economy we are told is based to some degree on confidence Wall Street is affected by people's confidence confidence consumer confidence drives the economy and in some ways our society right now has been it's it's confidence has become shaken almost at all levels and is affecting the church as well confidence in our education system has certainly been shaken I know it's because it has begun to preach and teach the gospel of humanism daily America's education system is 20th on the list of industrialized nation think about that we're 20th down on the list that's terrible it's inexcusable especially when America spends as much on education as the other twenty combined confidence is shaken confidence in our government has certainly been shaken it's institutions have have lost our respect and for good reason it has lost our respect Congress their approval rating is at an all-time low for good reason in my opinion I've never seen a group of people lie as much as our Congress it is an embarrassment to the American Way of life it's embarrassing to see the level of lying that is now portrayed in our leaders our decision-makers can't make a decision that shakes confidence confidence in the Republican or the Democratic parties has been shaken they have way too many politicians in both of them or throw in the independence doesn't matter to me politicians who lie with impunity and then they lie to us about lying the deep state is a worry to our American Way of life Christians and political opponents are now targeted by the deep state they are spied on liberally educated socialists are now telling us how we are supposed to live our lives and if we don't live like that then we are attacked as being deplorable we are attacked for our beliefs the standard by some who are supposedly so highly educated are pure and simply some of the things they are espousing are absolutely moronic and their asinine but those are the facts that we are living with in this nation not in Cuba not in Russia not in the Sudan while hardworking Americans were making a living by the sweat of their brow and yes shopping a little bit at Walmart the looms decided they would run for office and they did it is time for us to wake up stop working just long enough to go vote vote and throw them out crazy has gone to seed and we cannot say as an American Church it doesn't affect us it is affecting everything it's affecting our kids in effecting our very way of life it's affecting our heritage and we got to wake up it's not a secret it's it's easy to see the wise ways of a nation that was based on Christian values the wise ways that it was built on have now been discarded for an antichrist agenda and all it takes is an honest look but it must be an honest look the point is if we're not careful the uncertainty and the apprehension of our times can calls us to to have a dubious mindset an anxious mindset that affects our lives now in fact none of the things that I just listed are to be the source of the Christians confidence yet in too many ways it is the source of their confidence we have got to be reminded that none of that is the source of our confidence we need to understand and affirm afresh we live separate from that we're separate from the world and it's ways though we live in it we are to live above that we live in a faith culture monitored monitored by King Jesus and the powerful Holy Spirit we live in a kingdom culture that is controlled by Father God and we are responsible to declare his word in the face of an eroding culture it is a responsibility our life source power fulfillment our confidence is on a different level than the world's at least it shouldn't we should live that way we are supposed to live that way we are to be a different people noticeably different noticeably different from the world the more I travel are seeing some things that are bothering me I don't see much difference between Christians and the world it's to be noticeably different through the new birth we've we've been given a different nature than the world's nature and we need to learn to live it declaring God's truth in fact insisting on it insisting on it we need to also encourage one another to live it we need to show this world that we know who we are we know exactly who we are and and it needs to be done now we are the sons and the daughters of God we don't apologize for it I'm God's son you're God's Son are God's daughter I don't apologize for that I am God's my father I have a different nature inside of me we are those who who are heirs of the king of kings we are carriers of the authority of and none of those things are to move us none of them none of those things are to move us we are not to be moved by tribulations we aren't to be moved by troubled times we are not to be moved by lies and corruption we are not to be moved by government propaganda or education propaganda or media or anyone else's we are here to live and to move by what we believe and say it say what we believed weren't moved we are not to be moved by fools who seek to resist God no matter their education or no matter their position we are not to be moved by moronic behavior the words of ungodly men and women are not to move us know the source of our confidence is completely different the source of our confidence is to be independent of all of that the word confidence references a state of mind or a state of being the state of my confidence determines whether I'm nervous or whether I'm at rest the state of my confidence determines my my posture how I walk how I stand how I react to things how I think which of course determines decisions I make or don't make the Apostle Paul makes a statement concerning his confidence stating this I am confident that he is who has begun a good work in you or in me will perform it he said he will keep working to complete complete that work until he comes for us now that is a very bold statement considering he is writing that from jail he is writing that well under the threat of being beheaded by the Roman government in spite of that he still proclaims his confidence that's amazing to me who of us facing a beheading and facing are already in jail could express that kind of confidence writing it and shouting it out I'm confident what an amazing different kind of breed of person the apostles were the Apostle Paul especially the last couple of months I've been thinking about this powerful attitude of the heart one of the reasons is because I've been seeing and I've been hearing some things from the body of Christ showing a sincere lack of confidence because of my apostolic calling most of you know I travel quite a bit I'll be traveling this week I travelled last week travel the week before and so on it's a part of the assignment on my life I don't I don't I don't know what God has in store for the future but I know that it involves my apostolic calling in in a lot of travel and I've been doing that but because of that I've been able to be in certain circumstances and among different types of people and there sometimes you can get among a crowd of people and you can almost feel the apprehension of our time that the tension of our times and several times the past couple of years and and a couple of times just very very recently I have been asked by by people a couple of times recently by sincere people by good Christian people honest people I've been asked this do you really think anything is ever going to change do you really I've been asked do you really believe do you really believe a worldwide revival is actually going to happen because it doesn't look like it in fact many seem to be living their lives almost almost in despair almost hopeless some are just fatalistic whatever whatever happens happens que sera sera whatever will be will be the futures not ours to see whatever Doris Day saying in the 60s were there it is the very real conditions in our world have caused a great shaking of confidence now I'm not saying that things aren't bad they are in the natural that's how it looks but that doesn't have to alter my confidence none of that moves me none of it or is supposed to the Christians response should be to acknowledge the reality but react in faith acknowledge the reality but react in faith one can change things the other puts you in an indifferent and indifferent passive position but one can change things one is active there are many reasons given for the lack of calm it's displayed by many in the church today I've read it in magazines I've heard it stated even here are some of the things that I've read or that that would pollute that would pollute confidence perhaps you're hearing them as well perhaps you've even had the thoughts yourself one of them is well you know this nation is just too far gone to change it's just too late the horse is out of the barn no need in closing the door now it's too late or corruption is bad it is so bad that it just has to be judged so so why fight it I mean why try now just hold on till Jesus comes for us some think something like this well it's supposed to it's supposed to get worse so let it get worse forgetting of course that the darker it gets the brighter our light is to shine that we're supposed supposed to be doing something about it forgetting of course that we must stop fake Christianity and become real Christians that effect change others they see the reality of the way things are and that present reality affects their confidence but again the present the present nature of reality is not to affect my confidence nor it is is it to affect the way my faith reacts now it must be said American crisps Christendom has been in the midst of a debilitating funk in recent years at almost every turn [Music] supernatural power and insight has given way to religious forms religious forms of godliness that have not proven to be effective against darkness especially gross darkness churches that are growing the seeker-sensitive ones that they're growing fast numerically but they're not maturing character and in many cases they are compromising to get the numbers up the new trend and it is even happening in our area the new trend I mentioned the compromise and one of my positions is I will confront some things but the new thing is let's have a night of worship let's have Friday night worship but with adult beverages now there's an idea let's sell alcohol at the cafe on Friday night and let's get our praise on it sounds so ridiculous that it can't be true and yet it's happening all over the the nation and it's happening right here right here among us it's fake it's phony Christianity it may get a crowd I suppose the crowd would grow but it's demon doctrine it's demon thinking in it pollutes the character of true Christianity and it will pollute this nation it's fake it's phony somebody's got to say so there are programs aplenty but little fear of the Lord and yes it's true that modern-day nominal believers seem oblivious to their unhealthy condition as do some nominal pastors having succumbed to the Laodicean syndrome that the king himself Jesus the Messiah himself said in the Book of Revelations made him sick it's truly amazing but many today view their compromised state as normal and even some they blessed even something it's blessed yes it's just today's normal Christianity as in America there has been an accepting of what is called the new normal well income levels have been stagnant for a long time it's just the new normal 40 million Americans are on some kind of government assistant but that's just the it's just a new normal insurance costs are doubling but that's just the new normal education costs are skyrocketing well it's just a new normal groceries er the prices on groceries just going up and up but that's the new normal embrace it it's the new normal Christianity our churches in far too many ways have lowered the bar of biblical Christianity accepting it as a new spiritual normal it's normal for Christians to be uncommitted I mean that's just normal in our times forgetting whether or not the name Christian itself means you got to make a commitment of some sort but no no don't be committed that's the new normal it's normal for Christians to be passive it's just the way it is it's normal for Christians to not pray I mean who has time for that it's normal to keep your faith to yourself that's what we do in our culture now you just it's private it doesn't matter what the the Bible says history a thousand years old it's the new normal it's normal not to bring your ties or offerings to the church weekly we have too many other options to spend it on it's normal to not serve well I'd have to get there an hour before church instead of a half hour after it starts it's normal it's normal to compromise it's just the way it is that's normal Christianity it's just the new Christian normal lower the bar and call it normal and that will fix everything that will change nothing and we all know it will change nothing in fact it is what the scripture calls strong delusion strong delusion but the conscious is appeased willfully appeased thinking well I'm normal I'm a normal Christian there are millions just like me unlike all the others who refuse responsibility I'm normal someone has got to stand and say the new normal is the old Laodicean syndrome in Revelations 314 the one Jesus said makes him sick I I don't want anything to do with pretend Christianity certainly enough not any kind of Christian that Jesus said makes him sick I want nothing to do with a new normal that Jesus said makes me want to throw up I want nothing to do with Christianity that our King says is distasteful Pasi Christianity sickens the Godhead think about that a moment there are no other there's no other thing in the scripture about it that humming King God get sick can the Godhead get sick there's only one thing that makes the Godhead sick lukewarm Christianity passive Christianity makes the Godhead sick this started a couple of weeks ago when the Holy Spirit said something to me that I wasn't expecting to hear but I know his voice and he said this to me when are you going to get sick of what makes me sick and I said right now today right now when are you going to get sick of what makes me sick and I said right now Lord I will raise my voice some dismissed such talk as unnecessary alarmist I obviously do not because society will crumble if true Christians don't live like true Christians that's not legalistic that's real life that may be oversimplifying it but at some point there's a group of people or remnants got to rise up and say we're not Christian in name only we actually live it and we're proud of it we're not ashamed I'm not ashamed of what I believe or who I believe in now all these arguments are now are not new they've they've attended the demise of nearly every revival and civilization civilization in history someone must stand and say listen to the word of the Lord listen to the words of the prophets our our relationship with God has oan fallow cold shallow and it can only be restored through true repentance and unreserved obedience yes obedience matters Ezekiel 33 and verse 10 says our offences and sins weigh us down and we are wasting away because of it isn't that a picture of our nation Ezekiel 33 12 the righteousness of the righteous man will not save him when he disobeys we're not to embrace disobedience as the new normal that will not save us that will change nothing that will not give a bright future to to our kids or our grandkids if the church is to be the best hope for for this nation or all nations and I believe that it is then it must awaken from its slumber and do so very quickly it must arise with a confident heart trusting God reacting to this world in faith stating the truth without compromising it stating that truth with great boldness and without shame no matter what we see we're not to be moved no matter what we don't move without being moved by that we are to be confident in in our God William Wilberforce is one of our heroes of faith listen to this short statement concerning his life it's written by Carol Porter for years William Wilberforce pushed Britain's Parliament to abolish slavery discouraged he was about to get getting nothing done his elderly friend John Wesley heard of it and from his deathbed called for pen and paper with trembling hand Wesley wrote unless God has raised you up for this very thing you will be worn out by the opposition of men and by Devils but if God before you who can be against you are all of them stronger than God is anything I've just mentioned stronger than God be not weary in well-doing go on in the name of God into the power of his might till even America and slavery shall vanish away before it Wesley died six days later but Wilberforce fought for 45 more years at in 1833 three days before his own death saw slavery abolished in Britain even the great ones needed encouragement he had to be reminded don't you throw away your confident don't throw away your confidence Wilberforce confidence in God it's sword when Wesley wrote words of encouragement and and the confidence didn't wane for forty-five years he was confident if God before him who could be against him he could get it done I've been asking myself why I am so confident what is the source of my confidence that the greatest days in church history are not in our past they are in our present and in our future you may have heard me say that before what's my confidence what is the basis for my confidence that a great worldwide revival is going to spread it's gonna get everywhere and it's gonna be awesome I mean do I see it happening with my natural eyes no I in fact see problems that are going to have to change one of them I'm talking about this morning and yet I'm fiercely confident I'm so confident I guess I can grow more confident but I'm confident what is the source of my confidence for some it's not enough but for the remnant I think it is in fits all that's needed for me it's all that's needed why do I believe that an incredible Jesus Movement is beginning simply put or pure and simply stated it is simply because Holy Spirit said so it's because God's Word said so I don't have anything else that's all I got I've banked everything on that 40 years in this place I've banked on that I'm out doing it everywhere I possibly can because that's what I got his word says in Joel chapter 2 the years the locusts the palmer worm and the cankerworm have eaten away he will restore his word says he will pour out his spirit on our sons and our daughters indeed on all flesh his word says His Word says that that even the old men are going to dream some more dreams oh I got dreaming to do although I'm young man so I'll probably I'm between visions and dreams right now your young men will see visions the old men will dream dreams new purpose his word says yes his promise is millions and millions are in the valley of decisions and they will come in they will be saved not maybe there is no there's no caveat to it at all not maybe no they will be that's what His Word says his word is the fields are white unto harvest his word is in our times the ploughman are gonna overtake the Reapers harvest is accelerating it's coming fast it's multiplying it's growing exponentially that's all I have I don't have anything else now I'm not moved by anything else that's my reason that's it I don't have anything else to go on and it's my opinion it's my opinion I don't need anything else his words good enough for me I don't need anything else I don't really even care what anything else says I don't care for the gideon army or the remnant army for those on the tip of the spear and that's where we've desired to be as a church body but if that's not your desire you're probably in the wrong place because I'm putting you there every week I'll put you there I'll make you a target if you come here you're going to I just I don't I have a strong distaste for fake Christianity I just do that's me and I just can't do it any other way that's not arrogant that's just that's me I sold out a long time ago for those willing to to be on the tip of the spear to be on the first wave there has got to be a deep settled confidence that if if he says it then let's do it I have nothing else to go on my one and only source is God said it isn't there some point when the New Testament church says that's good enough if God said it it's good enough it's all we need isn't there some point in your life when you say that's all I need I don't need anything else that's all I need I don't need anything else I don't I don't need millions agreeing that would be nice but it's it's not needed his words enough his promise is enough I don't need millions in the bank before I move that be nice but it's not needed his word is enough if he says the greatest move in all of history in all of Christendom all of churches three is now being released then that's all I need it's happening like the Apostle Paul I am confident he has begun a good work in you and in me and within the New Testament church will perform it he will complete it he'll finish it he said he was coming for a glorious church it's all I need he's gonna come from glorious church how's he gonna do that I don't know I'm not him I don't know how he does a lot of things that he does but all I need is he said it it's all I need can we find a church of people or believers of Christians that said that's all we need all we needs what God said that's all I need he said it it's okay it's all I need because I know it because I'm pursuing a deeper friendship with him and with the Holy Spirit which is available to all believers as not because I'm special all of us can pursue that but because I know him I am convinced I am confident that Jesus never starts anything he won't finish ever never he never will I know him he won't creation hidden stopped halfway through creation say I don't know if I get this done or not know he finished it the cross he didn't stop halfway and say you know I'm going to take up the deal on the 72,000 angels that are here to help me stop this I'm not going to I think I'll just quit no we hear the scream of determination to tell us died finished he finished I know him he will not quit till his word is accomplished he will complete what he says he will finish what he said he would do through his remnant body he'll do exactly what he said he would do for the Oasis it may be different than we think probably will be he doesn't think like we do and thank God he doesn't may be different than we thought but he will complete it that's all I need that's all his word is our truth in buckler at some point you got to get to the place where that's all you need that's all you need Paul told his son in the faith Timothy something similar it has inspired me so often he talked to Timothy about his source of confidence saying this in 2nd Timothy chapter 1 in verse 12 for this reason I also suffer these things nevertheless I'm not ashamed for I know whom I have believed and I'm persuaded that he is able to keep that which I've committed to him until that day the day of his return New Living Translation reads this is why I'm suffering here in prison but I'm not ashamed of it for I know the one in whom I trust and I am sure he is able to guard that guard what I have entrusted to him until the day of his return JB Phillips translations reads this way it is for this gospel that I'm now suffering these things yet I'm not in the least chained for I know the one in whom I have placed my confidence and I'm perfectly certain that the work he has committed to me is safe in his hands until that day what enabled Paul to get through tough times persecutions beatings jail time ridicule how did he do that with such confidence he said I I know who I have believed I know him you can't put your confidence in somebody you don't know you can't you won't there's a difference between meeting someone and knowing someone I met a lot of people the last mile meant a lot of people this past week but I don't know them I met them that's the position of so many in the body of Christ they met the master but they don't know him they don't really know him because they haven't pursued on see the new births just the beginning it'll stay a baby mature or grow move get to know him he Paul said well I know him in whom I believed believe there's the Greek word Castillo means faith in our trust in our well-being he said I know the one I've I've trusted my well-being to I trust I've entrusted everything to him my whole life of I've given my whole life to him I trust him I know why I have mine I know who I have my faith in my faith is in Christ to save me my faith my confidence is in the one that I know I haven't just met him I know him and he said I'm persuaded strong language in the Greek text it's just he was showing such he was revealing his heart then it was confident I am persuaded persuade his pay fo it means to to be convinced beyond argument absolutely confident free of fear he said I'm fearlessly confident in Who I believe I'm convinced beyond all arguments that I'm able to trust and keep he will keep that which I've committed unto him that which I've committed unto him it's just one word in the Greek language it's parthak gay and it means deposit he will I can trust him with everything that I have deposited to his care Paul says I've deposited a whole lot to his care and I've given him everything I'm giving him my life I'm banking on him completing what he promised me I'm convinced he can handle it so the question comes who do you believe who do you believe today the world government education news media naysayers doubters nominal religion who do you believe is there an argument you're considering against Christ in your thinking and your thinking are you convinced you you can trust him see God is looking for a people who are convinced they can trust him they're not faking it they are convinced a people whose confidence cannot be shaken may find them here the great Apostle Paul displayed a faith that could not be shaken confidence like like Paul's cannot be shaken because often it's the result of already having been shaken but not being shaken down it stood and overcame our spiritual forefathers showed us a faith and a confidence that is derived out of times of shaking didn't move them times of great trial times of great pressure times of great affliction but while the shaking came they didn't get shook their confidence remained deposited in God that's the faith that we've got to display and show to this world Paul said I Know Who am I believe I know him I'm not just about him I know him I know him I know him I know him I followed hard after him and I'm pursuing him to to only have unshakeable faith you got to know him the only way to be confident no matter what life throws your way is to know him we're gonna press into another level to really know him getting close drawing close to the most confident painting in the entire universe it breeds confidence the closer I get the more confident I feel and sometimes that's all I got but all the time it's all I need singers or musicians come I'm confident I am confident so confident in him would you stand please thank you long thank you Lord this morning is a different kind of message understand that but it's sometimes we just have to take a look at some things and say whoa I need a checkup from the neck up that kind of thing yeah check some things out if you have been shaking in your confidence change today consider some of the things I talked about and put yourself in a confident position say wait a minute there's so much throwing it's like throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks in his world right now but wait a minute I know him that's all I need I am confident that if you'll trust him he'll do exactly what he said not knowing he will let that kind of faith arise this morning if you say yeah I've kind of been drifting I've been listening to the wrong way of thinking way too much [Music] I actually heard God speak to me [Music] I'll go ahead and say it I know maybe it's because I'm tired I just say things I heard God speak to me through rush limbaugh and he said you know what I do sometimes I just have to he said I just turned the news off and I don't listen to it for a week because I got to get my perspective right maybe just listening to the wrong thing too long shut it down press it I know him I know what he's word says oh I know him he'd do what he said there is a free there is a there is a people rising I don't know how God's gonna have massaged it all I'm getting there but there is a people rising they're so confident God and his words all they need and they're gonna turn the world upside down cuz that's what he said they do but if you're drifting is they I'll just buy got a clean I've got a clean house I got clean my mind been listening to the wrong things maybe even been saying the wrong things as we worship for just a few moments here that the cleansing begins get back on your faith that a confident heart began to arise inside of you don't deny the reality but react in faith
