The Last of Us - Season 1 Eps 8 Reaction

foreign [Music] s don't let friends watch television alone and I'm Jay and today we're gonna react review and at the end we're gonna write episode 8 of season one of The Last of Us The Last of Us when last we left our two main characters uh Ellie had a flashback to how all this thing started uh back in qz in Boston and uh she decided to sole sew up Joel's uh bat wound which apparently is gonna work eventually which sounds like it what sounds like something Batman would use but it was indeed a wound from a bat it was a wound from a bat a one from a bat my back it's scarier than it sounds was very upsetting I really didn't like it and all the people in the comments are like actually that's happened before when I was talking about how I'm always terrified that a bat's gonna like break and just like impale something back in 1920 . I didn't need that I appreciate your dedication to Sparkle motion but woof that was too much information never sitting down lying they got a baseball game again Jay Schmidt oh Minnie Outfield yeah just we're way up there man so this is we got two episodes left this the whole first season's doing all of the so I remember the mission that takes place after Joel gets hurt is Ellie on her own for a little while yeah I've been wondering what they would do with this story point because I remember who the bad guys were that Ellie was Finding in the game and I'm wondering if they win it gets a little it's a little trigger warning honest to God but I was wondering what they would do with that story point in the show because I guess we'll see so this episode's only about 50 it's only 15 minutes long all right so it's a nice short episode so hopefully Ellie's just kicking a whole bunch of buttons here we go revelation 21. uh-oh and I saw a new Heaven on Earth oh yeah and God should wipe away all tears from their eyes when you introduce I'm assuming bad guys when they're reading the Bible it's never it's never a good thing something really bad is about to happen but I need to know you're with me good cool well oh here we go baby bird welcome to the family be right back okay she's also gonna go hunting I'm gonna go claim that Nancy bye bye my sweet baby Joe Mama's gotta go get gas and chew bubble gum and bubble gum expired today God just turns to dust wow it's like flakes it's like yeah remember remember bubble jug bubble jug it was like a powder and you put it in your mouth and then like swish around and turned into gum no sounds like something that sounds like a textural nightmare for you I I've never heard of that before man what if kids of them not whoa double survive in such cold where rabbit oh no that was a clicker get after it Ellie you ever been hunting no I mean technically yes but also no my dad took me when he went I didn't hunted he hasn't in a very very long time but when I was like a wee lad I did not enjoy it 'll excuse me I'm older and much bigger than I sound we can trade you for some of the deer we have what do you need we have boots medicine like for infections of the non-mushroom kind back in our village you're welcome to follow us I'm not following you anywhere good guess right never yeah don't follow strangers he comes back you get half the deer anyone else shows up I put one right right between my hands that's totally fair it's your dad's gun you're the one that's sick good job Ellie yeah nice do we have to it's a living it's hard to trust strangers I know but I honestly mean you know harm oh so you were introduced with a Bible passage no and Revelation yeah chose to follow you cool thing so you went from teacher to preacher because what it [ __ ] rhymes yeah exactly frames man she's 10. like there's just little things that are just like she's putting on a good face but so I sent four of our people to a nearby town to to scavenge what they could and only three of them came back by this crazy man and get this that crazy man had a daughter who's traveling with a little girl shoot him in the face shoot him in the face shoot him in the face what what shoot him in the face she is the one that killed Alec didn't she oh no oh just just I know you're not with a group he won't survive for long out there team knife David team knife David shoot him shoot him you gotta shoot him nah they didn't get a whole town coming after you without their leader they don't know what's going on bury the bodies they don't know good luck finding me clack clack dude now they're gonna go back they are going to hunt her while Joel is down Ellie's gonna have to make it happen It's morphin time you know it's gonna be it's gonna need to be I don't know how much to give you so yeah I'm giving you the whole thing here we go yes stabbing Joel inside this summer didn't make sure there was no air bubbles that was my favorite mini game in The Last of Us Where to stab Joel with the penicillin that was a fun one well fungus taketh fungus can also give us penicillin bacteria it's not a fungus it's different oh we're done look I'm not the one you know they're gonna light you up that's me I'm just trying to get ahead of it all right I thought I was super clever there look at me about the guys getting stabbed with bats our comment section is a wild friggin they really are so we got Star Wars on Wednesday you can't rile them up it's only gonna get worse oh Joel uh no pressure but we're on the clock they are so after us what is it venison looks like a good stew yeah my spidey sense is tingling it's the worst stew in Wyoming big one my spicy sense of tingling did you just catch the order of events there oh no I know okay when the Sun rises I'll lead a group out to pick up her Trail won't be hard to find in the snow I've never gonna murder her I know you think you don't have a father anymore truth his hand and you will always have a father and you will show him respect when he's speaking I think Ellie needs to do everyone a favor and kill this guy they mentioned this way back at the beginning of the season or you did somebody did yeah yeah yeah it's the yeah you can't ignore the shots no the way they're framing things dip still looks like a stab wound it's better so that's so much times two multiply oh my God I'm doing it let's go I love this game he's heating up yeah that's a fever don't take the horse out there we're gonna they're gonna try to eat that horse yeah they definitely need that horse I mean one advantage of the Apocalypse the snow is going to be probably fresh at this point the snow would be fresh yeah I mean you shouldn't be eating snow nowadays but like no after 20 years of who's to say who's to say you know microplastics lived on first baby that's the that's the real apocalypse coming for everybody Ellie that's your rifle get some high ground on a roof here we go if we leave her out here she'll die okay yeah maybe that's God's will this man does that like to be questioned welcome to team knife David don't not fall asleep what's up man that giraffe had a lot to say oh I'm so high on penicillin right now okay approach please make it through the episode roach all right at least takes on six people from a larger group who are having a problem here we go guys about to take a round right to the downscape delivering oh no all of these guys look like 10 miles of tough road maybe they get eaten by mushrooms you know maybe it might be too cold that's what I'm thinking underneath the steps just okay wow I thought he got him like right in the I thought he got him in the neck or the back of this the spine doing you a favor you're gonna die the gum disease he well it's well enough to get your kill your dudes he's in his own base killing your dudes there it is thank you yeah you can't find a way to trust me then yes you are alone oh so this is a cult yeah man cool yeah I knew it oh this dude's power dripping hard hard yeah Joel's basically just turned into just like a wolf spider in his lair just one by one they will come in and get Brian Joe doing Joel things ah the duct tape coming into handy I don't know any girl oh boy oh you're not walking again you're not walking again oh oh baby oh no I did not like that oh Team stand up I'm gonna that sucked ah oh no so tell Brian one and Brian too I said hello you shouldn't have taken off did you do that he told you what you wanted we'll see no I believe him no no oh whoa you do not touch his family no has zero F's charges in his care get taken care of with lethal enforcement yeah man I said notice Integrations [Laughter] do you think once I have a child I will be instilled with the the power to do what needs to be done yes also don't eat that Ellie it might turn into a wendigo you're on a mountain got a mountain uh-huh at this point it's not subtle they're eating they're eating Eric these people who put their lives in my hands who expect me to keep them safe who love me was that last part necessary you psycho but then the world ended and I was shown the truth right no other cordyceps and it secures its future with violence if it must it loves praise be to cordyceps I'm a Shepherd surrounded by sheep and all I want is an equal he just knows this is how you appeal to Ellie I can tell the others to stop looking for him oh don't worry they already did they'll spare him he's all hopped up on penicillin man there you know stopping him yeah he stopped up on that green bread just getting it done the stupid one this is you do not believe what we could do together strong as we are this is obviously we'd make this place perfect this is true perfect perfect and we do whatever we needed for our people yeah we put human mushrooms imagine the life we could build this is this is yeah that it's Crossing into the other territories oh yeah yeah so many wooks I hate it so against the bars Kim ah yeah he's got five more oh the bar there's the bars work both ways you looked you're not butcher you can't get away with that ah man the butthole diamond in this episode is just it's it's pristine it's gonna make quite the top of a scepter oh man well it's a good thing Ellie injected the entire bottle of Medicine putting the body into antibiotics drop them I wonder what this feels like to be fueled with just rage and spite inventions because there's no he's got no there's no gas in that tank why wow wow wow wow wow that's just like Devil and me wrapping him up I know yeah and no sorry sorry I wonder I wonder if that's true that is a good question pretty [ __ ] real to me she got slammed into the bars oh no I don't know the bullet I see no ah bye Troy we love you Elisa Lucci he got taken out by Ellie that's kind of [Laughter] that's ooh that's close enough to yeah well you might have been able to stop it but but not anymore No Way Out Ellie the doors are locked oh and I have the keys in the steakhouse yeah uh I you think I'm locked in here with you Manny you're about to get a whole you're about to get a whole pan of beef strogan off to the face you don't know how good I am you don't know what I could have given you what the hell good job I mean she knew where the blow was coming so that's good but shouldn't have a follow-up plan maybe or maybe she does I thought you already knew the fighting is a part I like the most there's no fear in love oh my God [Applause] just keep swinging let's keep swinging yeah just go baby yeah let him know until the camera runs red well okay cool man yep I'm just supposed to let go but one day I just pretend like everything's fine okay okay baby girl [Music] okay all right oh my God you okay I have fun yeah it's just that's a thick soup man woof that had a lot that had a lot and uh yeah again I don't remember exactly the that level that Ellie's on her own if how close this episode was to that but some of the elements from that mission were in this and I think they were in just an appropriate amount a time to be like hey rub that point for the story and we're past it and death to all so that was that was a lot clocking that they were in a steakhouse I think the second time they were there I noticed the doors and then when the with the shots of them everybody was like clinking anymore such a way that it was like wait a second yeah wait a second they're showing everybody eating meat and I was like and the Order of Operations happened when they were like oh no it's just it's just Venison and then the deer came in yeah I was like wait a second all right that's good I mean it's good TV sure it's but it's like this is it you know this show doesn't this isn't casual watching in any way no no it's not no it's not yeah no he stabbed that guy right in the knee he really did oh I don't think I've ever seen a stabbing in like a movie or a show that was that more revocative than that I don't know how they faked that I don't I oh I do how uh it's it's so it's a digital um it's a digital blade he's still really slammed that thing though yeah but that the hilt's rubber so you can just so you can just slide down into somebody yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah understand but still oh oh sure but I do know because I've seen them I watched the behind the scenes of The Scorpion King of how this there was a couple of just big big old stabbing things and they just had the hill with a little ball on the end of it so they could track it and they added the blade afterwards that's how you get like a good like oh no yeah that's how that's how they do it because that was a good stab I got one right in the guy's knee The Scorpion King I know right you watch the bonus DVD extras of the Scorpion just thought on YouTube oh okay it might have been like a choreographer video It's better but information is out there I really guess it's the final the final mission and we know what happens I'm assuming next episode is going to be really long because like a lot has to happen it's only like an hour really they can get through all that I just a lot that happens yeah and they keep saying that they finish up the first game in and it just to me doesn't like to me I'm like you don't have to sure you don't have to no uh hey Jay how would you rate episode 8 of season one of The Last of Us this one this one's getting this one's getting seven out of seven bad bad Steakhouse Yelp reviews I think the Yelp will score on that place is probably gonna go down considerably yeah like um this meat was awfully stringy yeah man it was kind of tough it's the worst too in Wyoming you'll get the reference to you I don't no it's okay it's 2010 all right they're getting Barbara food Street uh how would you guys
