[Scary Music] Scrap Walnut I'm slicing into just over 1/4' I'm using the drum sander to get them to thickness Now I get them to the right size I put a slight angle on them I used an oak waste block as it was all I had. I use Starbond CA Glue to attach the walnut I lost the footage of cutting the mouth and eyes. But they are walnut also The Jawbreaker Bowl is in the back There's a space between that piece and the mouth I was not happy about. Fits like a glove I've never pour so much resin at one time without cracking. But this Fathom says it can pour 3" Using the paint mixer causes a lot of bubbles Sorry Tim, no Sexy Music Time. It will be back one day. I don't show it but I put it in the pressure pot for 5 or 6 days This will be the lid. Took a bit to cut the walnut to fit like it does. I ended up cracking my bucket. That made me sad, but it was worth it in the end Have I ever told you guys it really sucks cleaning up all these shavings. Every time I clean them up I like turning a little less. But then I make a project like this and it makes it all worth it. I'm curving over the bottom of the project I'm going to turn off the walnut wood that was sticking out. I'm turning mostly air It's starting to look more like a pumpkin. I get a lot of crap because I wear a ring while turning. People can't understand it's made of silicone and made to tear away. I use Klingspor Sanding Discs. These are awesome and I don't get paid to say that. Okay I like to clean with denatured alcohol after sanding So this is a 4oz container of Acks. Perfect size. It last me about a month. Cheaper also. It makes a great Christmas present for a woodturner. If you buy on now you can put there address is and they will send it straight to them Oh and you can ask them in the comments of your order form to gift wrap it too. You can save 15% with the code moon15 Matter of fact I have a few coupons you can use. Go check them out in the description section. It's worth a look. So I have to admit I took that last finish off and tried resin. It did not turn out well. The video was too long so I cut it. This is ridiculous. I broke 5 out of 6 screws. The project had nothing but gremlins in it. This is my favorite ways to remover broken screws. Ludicrous speed!!! Remember when I made that recess on the bottom? Well it was way to shallow. Dumb mistake ahead This project kicked my ass I could not get it centered on the chuck. So I have to redo the whole outside. This oak I used for the waste block was super hard, but it was all I had when I cast this project You see that Rikon in the back? That's my Granddaughters. She started turning pens. I am super gun shy about going through the bottom again. I've been testing out a fine grit for Acks. I really like it. Notice the different color for the lid? It's because I used a different resin on it. So funny story. When I was making this lid Dave Gatton distracted me and I dropped it. It broke. I resined it back together This Wood Honey from TotalBoat is new. It's a food safe finish for wood products. This is the first time I tried it. [Creepy Music] The Pumpkin bowl, not bowl, cookie jar, candy jar, what ever you want to call it. I'm going to call it a candy jar. Made this for the wife. She called Dibs on it. Along with every other project for halloween I used walnut for the inlay for the face. I used an oak piece for the center. Its all I had. I did not have pine at the time. It sat on my shelf forever. So I cut it round. It was originally going to be a bandsaw box. It made for a difficult turn it was so hard. Hey BTW go check out my Tee Spring page. I have a bunch of original shirts you may like. I used two different resins. I used Fathom for the bottom I poured 4400g of the Fathom with no cracking. Amazing stuff On the top I used 2:1, this made the top and bottom slightly different colors. Different resins will give you different colors. I used a little bit of a cut off of walnut for the stem. I hope you've enjoyed the last couple of weeks of Halloween Madness All of October I put out Halloween themed videos The first one was the Stumpkin Then I did the Halloweenie Bowl, which was the black and orange one.
