hill house this is quoted to be toronto's haunting of hill house i don't think i've ever seen that show yes everybody in toronto kind of goes here right oh yeah this castle obviously huge one of the biggest estates here in toronto and it was owned by a guy named sir henry he was one of the wealthiest men to ever come into toronto but lost it all including the castle due to his crookedness so his bedside oh so he was a cute husband at your bedside or they just placed it here 50 years later apparently this is one of the most active spots as well on the second floor many people have seen him like being literally like an apparition wait was this where we saw the person in the window at the beginning can energy get trapped in here literally because it's circular you know what to be honest with you i don't believe in trapped energy they don't have a body why would they be trapped what if it's like a residual like that i believe in for sure we all leave imprints and you know things that we do do you believe in things being able to follow or attach to somebody yeah yeah absolutely i would great i would suggest just like people we have to set boundaries with spirit can you tell if guys before we go any further throughout this castle we want to update you on the history because this is a monumental place again everybody in toronto goes here both selena and cat came here as kids all their friends know about this place and this is toronto's haunting of hill house why because it is one of the biggest properties in all of ontario canada the guy that built this sir henry was rumored to have 25 of all the wealth of canada this man was rich one of the richest people ever to see canada but didn't last long his story goes up and down very quickly which is really interesting i want to get into why just to put things in perspective this guy spent the equivalent of what would be today a hundred million dollars to build this house this castle this is the kardashian of 1911. and why that's such a significant number is to his name he had 400 million dollars he spent a fourth of his life savings on this castle and how did he get that money you might ask well first of all his father was a rich stock broker so he grew up in a wealthy family already and he took that money and at a very young age invest your money kids early he bought basically a bunch of like electrical properties and railroad properties around all of canada and basically took over he created like the first electrical dam over by the niagara falls basically he controlled the electricity in all of the toronto area he really was obsessed with being aristocrat he wanted to be knighted he wanted to be in that elitist king queen monarchy so that is again why he wanted the biggest and the best in castle yeah he was trying to flex on all of his haters and she'll like all of his money off he would throw a party every single week and there was dozens of people that worked for him here every single day just to upkeep this entire castle him and his wife lady mary only lived in this castle for nine years and that's because at one point some random guy can't control the electricity for a town the government took it back over they're like hey sorry thanks for doing all this but it's ours we're gonna take control now he was the head honcho basically the monopoly of all electricity in ontario and the government was like this is not fair and like this should be like business yeah this is like like our business we should be making this money and so they they took it away from it they didn't really have the laws or like regulations that we do have now so they were just able to take things like that from people a lot of the way that he got his wealth was from borrowing money long story short he owned a lot of different properties a lot of real estate stuff and what he would do is borrow against those properties and take loans from the bank he took so many loans for the bank which is okay as long as the bank is making money but around the world war one era the canadian economy didn't really do so hot yeah so they were like where's my money i want it all back now and he wasn't making his to change anymore and since he owned so much money in canada it actually ended up shutting down the bank of canada resulting in literally thousands of people losing the thousands tens of thousands of people losing their life savings because of this guy so you can imagine if tens of thousands of people in your community lost their life savings because of one guy and you have this giant house on a hill you are hey nobody's gonna like you everybody thinks you're stuck up they don't even know that you might be broke it just looks so bad dude the biggest mistake of a lifetime like not only did his one business get pulled out from underneath him he screwed over the entire town that he was trying to be in control of a man had everything he had hot wife sexy he was basically one of the richest men probably in the world at that time and it all just got stripped away from them henry was a broken man yeah i know he probably hates himself so basically sir henry and his wife lady mary had to move out of this estate mary didn't last very long she died soon after from what a lot of people think is heartbreak she had such an amazing life and then everything was stripped away she was so sad about it she died because of that a lot of people say that she comes here and haunts these halls i don't think anybody that actually lived here during the time the nine years that people actually did live here died in this building but people think it's haunted because the amount of people there was dozens of employees and servants and workers that spent time here every single day and thought of this as like one of the happiest moments of life so even if they died somewhere else miles away from this spot right here they would always be drawn back to this castle because it was the best time of their lives what the medium just said as well is that there have been countless people in and out all the time in this building looking at the history bringing in their energy weddings events all these different things so what it could be is another eager the energy was brought in from the outside people didn't die here but people want to be here and so that leads us into the paranormal stuff there has been ghosts sightings and stories ever since the 1930s tons of noises voices and actual like poltergeist activity there's pressure and feelings of grabbing throughout the castle let's talk about miss mary of course her name is always married it's always married lady mary was actually known to be an elusive spirit there have been counts of people that have come here to investigate the second floor that have had their sd cards completely swiped are you kidding me like we married everything exactly like queen mary and cameras even like broken or completely drained where they just take up all of your batteries she does not like to be photographed or filmed should we just not [ __ ] with lady mary but there was even one group of paranormal investigators who were in her room and actually ended up seeing an apparition of a larger woman sitting on the bed and they believe that was her moving on to sir henry he was actually rumored to be seen from outside pacing around like the windows of his room and also weirdly enough his multiple offices in the building guess where we're at right now one of his offices one of his offices he haunts like his office spaces because he spent most of his time in there as a businessman would but he's seen everywhere in the castle and again we don't know if he's a malevolent spirit or not i think he's just an angry entity that is mad at himself the most common sighting is the white lady she was their main maid and she's seen throughout all the halls and actually is known to follow people around which i think the medium said is what's happening with us and as a newcastle would there are some secret passageways the most famous of which the underground tunnel system this is where the most reports of poltergeist activity occur there it's a culture guys anything that can actually like move physically you can see it hair gets pulled things get pushed hands get pressure all that stuff also the actual apparitions the mist you can physically see is most often cited in the tunnels following people around it might be the maid and right next to the tunnels there's actually these stables where they kept horses and stuff like that and apparently the medium said that she thought the stables were the most active spot the place that we were gonna get the most activity you were saying stables was the weirdest spot i really wouldn't be surprised if there's like some portal or it's like easy access to like get in it's only rumored to have like one grumpy spirit and nobody really knows who he is or how he's related to like henry or the castle either way there's a ton of different areas for us to investigate let's get to it because we only have until midnight here at this castle we gotta go quick this time guys where like the poultry guys activity and a grumpy spirit that nobody really knows who it is resides here there's a rumor that the grumpy spirit was an old friend of sir henry so maybe he's got some then he just lands here and there was just like a cracker just standing here and then this man walks forward and just oh and then there's the door with a bunch of windows no way i wouldn't be
