THE ESSENTIAL SHOE SHINE KIT: WHAT I USE TO SHINE SHOES

in today's video I'm going to show you the must haves and the essentials of a great shoeshine kit cedar shoe trees repel bugs they absorb moisture from the sweat of your feet and they maintain the shoes longevity they are an absolute must-have the next thing you'll need is a brush made from 100% horsehair this one's actually been in my family for probably around 60 years in the 60s my grandpa actually let one of his homeless friends stay at the house for a couple of days and when he took off he left behind this shoe brush and some creams which my dad took and he's had it ever since so it's an heirloom I guess and it really does a fantastic job so I use it for all my projects I don't use saddle soap very often and in fact I don't think it's something you'll use every time unless the shoe is very muddy or soiled but it's great for shampooing leather so it's good to have some around the next thing you'll need is severe renovate or it's by far the best leather conditioner I've ever used or found it really moisturizes the leather really well and with some brushing you get a fantastic shine so it's great to have around once you've applied it just wait five minutes and then clean it with your horsehair brush and you'll see a great shine Saphira madaya de or cream polish is fantastic and it does 3 things better than any cream I've ever found it penetrates leather for real nourishment contains high amounts of pigment and brushes - a really great shine and it does these three things better than anyone choux cream I've ever used that's why I love it so much it's all natural so you can apply it with your fingers I do that quite often next you'll need Saphir Pat deluxe and mirror gloss to add a protective layer over the shoe from dust and debris and from dirt and it's also great for a high-end mirror shine now there are a lot of opinions about what constitutes a good cleaning cloth my criteria is that it has to be a hundred percent cotton I usually just go to Walmart and find an extra extra large shirt I go home and I cut it up into strips and I wrap it around my finger here's a small tutorial on how to do that it's great for applying polish and for mayor shines after you've applied the wax just wait five minutes and then you can brush it with your horsehair brush for a good shine after brushing you can use the same wax to perform your mirror shine use mirror gloss to make it even shinier and more brilliant the last thing you should have in your kit is a good edge dressing I love Phoebe enroller stick it's fantastic and it makes the edges look really shiny and restores color just fine okay we're all done that's all that's needed to make a shoe look fantastic for those who want to know this is a pair of allen edmonds bond street in Burgundy the best thing about this kit is you can take it on the go and help your family and friends shine their shoes as well thank you so much for watching if you've enjoyed this video please like subscribe and share you can find me on Instagram and Facebook at the elegant Oxford links to my pages are in the description of this video remember always put your best foot forward the small details matter most so don't forget to hashtag shine your shoes see you next time
