are a bit of a different one but this one actually is I promise today we're not gonna focus as much on the actual murder but more the aftermath after the murder which led to this corpse being used as a carnival prop but before we get into this case I would just like to thank native for sponsoring this video native are a vegan and cruelty-free brand that formulate personal care products without all disclaimer that I mean absolutely no disrespect to anyone that I talk about in this video this video is for educational purposes and everything that I'm about to say is just information that I have found on the internet and I'm compiling into one video so we're gonna start this story at the end and then we're gonna go back and then we're gonna ill make sense translate so in 1976 Universal Studios were filming an episode for their series the Six Million Dollar Man you've probably heard a bit before I've heard a bit before but I've never seen it because obviously is pretty old and they were filming this one particular episode in Long Beach in California and this one specific scene for this episode they needed accountable like whatever scenes was gonna take place in like a fun house type thing and so they found this really good one that seemed to like suit their aesthetic needs and it was called nu Pike amusement park I think at the time it was called the pike amusement park and now it's called the new Pike amusement park I'm not from Long Beach in California and the funhouse itself that this scene was gonna take place and was called the laughs in the dark and it was kind of a mixture between a funhouse and like a horror ride like a ghost ran type thing I believe the inside was pretty dark it was like dimly lit but everything was painted with like UV neon fluorescent pants so then when they shown these blue lights in there and like lights at all of all these funky colors so a group of set designers go into this fun house and there's kind of moving things about just to make the scene floor easier making sure that there's nothing in the actors ways and things like that making sure that every prop in their suits they're seen and that's when one of these set decorators named Chris hands spots a rather large like human sized mannequin hanging from a rope like a noose around its neck and it was covered in UV pen and he thought absolutely not like that is not staying in this scene so he went over to this mannequin and he's they trying to reach up at the grow-op above to kind of get it off by the rope brother and pull the whole thing down and to help him reach the top of the rope he like the arm pulled himself up on the arm but when he did the arm came off in his hand so he went to go and try and attach it back on but when he looked at the body he didn't see like plastic inside or stuffing or anything like that he saw what he described as beef jerky texture and a bond so this guy freaks out he's like why is this mannequin like me see why is it got meat in it and so he goes outside and he goes up to the police officer that is kind of working on the sets because it's quite a big TV show they have a police officer on set to make sure that everything goes smoothly so this Chris hands goes up to this police officer knee tells him what he's found and the police officer is like not taking him very seriously he's kind of making a joke out of it saying like Oh Long Beach needs some excitement he goes to the firefighter that is on the set because they had one of those as well and this firefighters does the same thing just kind of makes a joke about it and Chris hands is like well what what am I supposed to do like Who am I supposed to go to and he is starting to think like well am i stupid for being worried about this is this for all mannequins alike like so he kind of like forgets it a little bit he goes to kind of like return the arm to the thing and when he gets there someone else is already there equally as panicked as he was and so they finally get the rest of this mannequin down and they take it to the police station and then to a coroner's office and it is found to be a real human corpse but it wasn't a fresh corpse and this is the interesting thing it was embalmed like a mummy like it was mummified it felt leathery and waxy and it had been hardened it had been like perfectly preserved as well the pathologist that did this autopsy on the body were very surprised at how well it seemed to have held up since this human being died all the organs inside was still in the exact same places like nothing it dropped or anything like that so naturally the next that is to try and identify this body which was not going to be easy because it was mummified so they have no idea when this person died normally when police find a body they look at missing-persons reports from the time of when the person died just to kind of see if they can link it up but they have no idea when this person died it could have been hundreds of years ago it could have been last week so the coroner's theorized that this body belonged to a man a white man in his thirties or forties and he had passed away from a gunshot to the chest but something interesting about this body this mummified body was that it had actually been all top-seed once before so when they do an autopsy they make like a big wide shaped incision just so that they can literally get into like every part of the body I'm sorry if you squeamish but that's all I'm gonna say they have a y-shaped incision and this body had that and so they knew had been autopsies once before which was very strange that it had somehow now become a prop in a carnival if it seemed that this body had once been treated with respect and you know properly cared for after his death and when they looked closer at the bodies inside they actually found fragmentation of the bullet that had killed this man now the actual bullet had been removed in the first autopsy but like technology these days could find tiny little miniscule traces of it I don't really know how it works and the bullet that had killed this man was called a gas check bullet now I don't know how specific that is because I know absolutely nothing about bullets you could be watching this video thinking or all bullets a gas checked I don't know somehow they figured out that this bullet had been made and probably used in the early 1900s anywhere from like 1910 to 1940 so this means that this body was at least 36 years old so the autopsy continued and they were looking at like the outside of the body and different orifices of this and in his mouth MA in his throat like pushed to the back of his mouth they found an old penny and some ticket stubs the penny in his throat dented all the way back to 1924 that's closing in that time gap even more and the tickets jobs at this point they were pretty illegible like there were there were a few in there not a lot but I think maybe like three or four ticket stubs and one of them could actually be kind of restored enough to see an address on it and this ticket was for Lewis Sonny's Museum of crime and luckily like I said it had an address on it and this address was for a place in Los Angeles but when police kind of researched it and everything this museum of crime was long gone but luckily and the museum had the owner's name in it learish Sonny and so police tried to track him down but of course this was very very old and Lewis Sonny had actually passed away however his son Dan Sonny was still alive and they got in contact with Dan and asked him about this body and Dan had a pretty good idea of who this corpse was the son said that he believed that this body belonged to a notorious I say notorious criminal named Elmer mccurdy he was a bank and train robber from the early 1900's and due to his criminal past his body had once been displayed in his father's Museum sir Elmer mccurdy was born on January 1st 1880 in min USA he was an illegitimate child to a seventeen year old girl named Sandy mccurdy not much is known about Alma's father because he didn't have anything to do with Elmo literally from the point of conception like after that he was gone he wasn't around for the pregnancy the birth illness childhood nothing there are rumors however and I say rumors these are very strong rumors within like the communities that have looked at this case there are rumors that Elmer's father could have been his mother's cousin and this cousin was believed to have been called Charles Smith which is not important at all right now in the case but it might be a little bit later now because Cindy was only 17 and back in these times the 1880s for a 17-year old girl to have a child out of marriage she didn't even have a boyfriend she didn't really have a stable job or anything it would have brought so much shame and isolation on her and her whole family if she was to admit that this baby was hers so Cindy could still see her child but she just had to pretend that it was her nephew rather than her own child but it meant that she didn't have to give him up so yes George and Helen adopted little baby Elmer mccurdy and they also allowed Sadie to live with them so she could live with her son she just couldn't tell anyone that this was her son and when Alma was 10 years old in 1890 his father George passed away from tuberculosis leaving him to be raised by his mother his mother Helen and her sister Sadie even though it was the other way around but he didn't know that they ended up moving cities and Sadie thought that it was a good idea at this point he was in his like preteens she thought that he should know that she was his biological mother and that Helen had just adopted him now Elmer was around 13 14 years old at this point and this information hit him like a ton of bricks he felt so betrayed by his mother and by his other mother like he was so confused this woman that he'd known to be his mother all his life wasn't even like biologically related to him at all he took to drinking at a young age and became an alcoholic in his early teens and never got over that for the rest of his life he began acting out and misbehaving he had resentment for Sadie and for Helen for lying to him for so long he began committing petty crimes and stuff as a way to rebell in his late teens he decided he just couldn't take it living with Sandy anymore and he decided to move out and move to a different state and start his own life he ended up back in his home town so like I said after his father died he said he and Helen all moved but he back to his hometown where the rest of his family still was and he reconnected with his grandfather who was a plumber and this grandfather kind of took Elmer under his wing and gave him an apprenticeship at his plumbing company and really tried to set him up for life and Alma was really good at this job it looked really promising as a long-term career for him he was hardworking he was just good at towards the end of the 19th century almost in 1900 there was a huge economic downfall which led to Elmer losing his job as a plumber he struggled to find another job for a while he was committing petty crimes here and there and then in the early 1900's he lost both his mother Sadie and his grandfather in the same month and this sent him spiraling even worse than he already was he was already an alcoholic he was already committing petty crimes but all that went to a new level he was drifting around from state to state picking up random jobs he used his plumbing knowledge everywhere to try and let get little odd jobs he would work as a miner but because he was an alcoholic he wouldn't show up to work some days he would show up drunk he wouldn't be a good worker and he always ended up losing the jobs that he got everywhere when he was 27 years old in 1907 Elmer decided that he wanted to straighten himself up he wanted to saw his life out he'd been travelling now for seven years just committing crimes everywhere not settling down not making any like long-term friends he didn't really have a life and he wanted one and so he went away with the army in the army he learned a lot of skills that would come into play later in his life he learned how to make explosives work machine guns all of that and then four years later he was honorably discharged he made friends in the army and ended up leaving the army at the same time as said friends and the two of them there was him and a guy called Walter that were kind of like besties and there decided that they would make a life of crime together which is not not the exact reason the Elna went in the army because he didn't want to do that anyway they decided they were gonna make a life of crime together just two weeks after being discharged from the Army Elmer and his friend Walter were arrested for possession of burglary paraphernalia now this included chisels hack saws and bombs bombs and literal sacks of money as well like of course they'd been robbing places for in court I don't know how he did it but Elmer mccurdy managed to block his way out of that and be found not guilty of possession of these things how when there's evidence that he has sacks of money and bombs in his hand how do you then get found not guilty of possession of those things he told the court that he and his friend Walter were actually working on inventing a new machine gun and that was what the bombs were father weren't actually bombs they were just chemicals they were bombs there were definitely bombs now after he was found not guilty of that word got around that Elmer somehow managed that and people really looked up to him and this group of wannabe criminals approached him and said look we think you're great we think you're really intelligent we think you're really good at like getting your way out of things and you know how to work explosives please will you be a part of our crime group and commit crimes with us although I don't think they'd ever committed a large-scale crime before I think this was just a group that had talked about it and they were just waiting to recruit the right people okay Elmer mccurdy so the group decided that the first crime that they would commit together was robbing a train and so the Dare came they jumped on this train at one of the stops and immediately started firing guns at the windows and at the ceiling intimidating everyone on the train where is Elmer mccurdy because he was very clued up in explosives and stuff his job was to aim straight for the safe he was going to go to the safe that they keep on Bob these trends set up an explosive next to and like blow it up and so that they could take all the money inside so he did that he went straight to the safe sell his explosive next to it and run into one of the carriages to take over this explosion goes off the group running to the safe room and the safe didn't explode open the bomb exploded but it wasn't enough to like burst the safe up and sir Elmo was like right okay I'll do it I'll do it he sets up another explosive they were run for cover in this carriage it blows up they run in again and it wasn't enough to blow the safe open again so they do it again a third time and again it wasn't enough to blow the safe of them so now elmo is thinking about to do this like I've got to get this money and this is embarrassing that I'm supposed to be the explosives expert of this group so he puts more gunpowder in this next explosive and they run for cover and it's a bigger explosion this time and they run back in and it's worked however because they've done this four times now and the majority of the money in this safe was coins what happens to metal when it gets hot it melts a lot of the coins had like melted and stuck together they were no longer coin shaped so obviously they couldn't use them for much they like welded to the sides of the safe and everything like this was not good they barely got away from this set with any money which I suppose is good but not for that and so the men are running up and down the train carriages just trying to get anything else they can just trying to make this worth it like stealing people's watches stealing people's alcohol stealing anything reportedly the men got away with less than five hundred dollars although it's theorized to be as little as $100 but most things I've seen have said like four hundred and fifty but imagine when it split between the full group that's about a hundred dollars each probably less than that I think there was more than five men in this group was it worth it so now police are on to Elmer mccurdy and he goes on the run and he begins using all these aliases all these different names which interestingly enough one of them was Charles Smith if you remember his mother's cousin that is believed to be his father was called char Smith so is that a coincidence or is that confirmation do you think he knew that that could have been his father I don't know anyway while he was on the run he met another two men and he was telling them about his like criminal life he was proper talking himself up obviously leaving out the part where he failed four times and then leave it on the fourth time he knocked it up but he was proper talking himself up to these two guys and they were like you know what we'll recruit you like we want to rob things with you as well so they decided this time they were going to rob a bank and this woman didn't go any better than the first one so the way that they went about it was that they were gonna go I think they went at night or at least in the evening because what I'm about to tell you you can't really do in the middle of the day so they went around the back of this Bank into an alley where and they were just hammering at the wall from the outside leg the brick wall of the outside and back they were chummy right now they had hammers they had pickaxes and there's three of them and they were doing this for two hours two constant hours of banging on the back of this Bank this must have been in the middle of the night but eventually after two hours they broke their way through the wall of the bank so they get in there and of course once again it is Elmen McCurdy's job to set up an explosive and blow up and thus if so he goes over to the syph puts his explosive down and this one this time he is made sure that this is big enough to blow up in this sip and it is it is huge luckily they all ran far enough for cover but if any of them instead in that general vicinity they would have got third-degree burns this was a huge explosion there's reports that it even damaged like buildings on the same street like all the windows smashed and like stuff fell over inside offices and stuff anyway the safe did actually like burst up and and they went inside and they found that that wasn't actually the safe it was actually the vault so in a bank they have like safe door number one which is the vault and then saved are number two which is the actual safe obviously these two stop things like this so luckily Alma had enough explosives still on him that he try and like blow up the SIP and so tries it and they run for cover and they're waiting and they're waiting and they're waiting and there is no explosion so now Elmo runs in through the vault over to the actual real safe this time and he's like messing around with his explosive thinking like why hasn't this gone off and in the meantime one of the two men that he is robbing this Bank with has done a runner obviously there have been hammering this wall for two hours they've just made a huge huge explosion that is literally shinnok and the full Street police are probably on their way at this point and this guy got so scared that he just ran he didn't want to be a part of this anymore so now it's just elmer and this other guy Elmas messing about with his explosive for a long time and then he turns to this other guy in his leg look I don't think I'm gonna be able to get this like to do it we're gonna have to leave like police are gonna be on their way and sir Elmer and this guy went to leave the bank but on their way out they saw a tree of like coins and they thought well it's better to take that than nothing so they took that with them and that was all they got out of the bank robbery so I think your note is through this video is that Elmer was not a notorious criminal as he is like portrayed in the media and stuff he was actually really bad at being a criminal so yeah this tray of money that they ended up stealing I think they ended up with about 50 pounds or $50 each after all of that so now after this elder goes on the run again with these two men that he did the bank robbery with and he decides that it might be fun to take these two men that he robbed the bank with to go and meet the guys that he robbed the train with and form this like big robbery supergroup so the men are all me each other and they think this is a really good idea to like rob something with this many of them like of course they're gonna succeed if they've got this many men and this time it was gonna be a big one they knew that there was a money transportation train that was going through that town the next day now this money transportation tree it sounds insane in this day and age that money would be transferred around the country via a train because it's obvious that that's going to get robbed but this train was transporting the equivalent of what would be ten million dollars just on a on a train track I can't get my head around that being a real thing and the way that this train operated it was all public knowledge so everyone knew what track it was going to be on what time it was going to be there it's a wonder that it wasn't getting robbed dearly so the men planned to rob this train on October 4th 19 they went to the train track but they decided that they weren't gonna hijack this trend while it was moving they needed it to stop and then they were going to jump on the train they were gonna try and like get on the train as it was moving some be stupid so to make the conductor stop the train for them to be able to jump on it they set a fire on the tracks and it went the conduct to stop the train with all the fire the men all jumped on this train and began this attack so they're on this train they're going up and down this carriage trying to look for this safe this being safe from like 10 million dollars in it and they just can't find it they can't find it anywhere and they're looking and looking and looking until they think right when we need to work so they're good to get this worker and they kind of blackmail them like look take us to this safe although we're gonna hurt you so the worker takes the man to this normal sized safe and the men are like no we know you've got like a big safe on here with loads of money in and this workers like nah this is this a normal train we've just got the normal sized safe it turned out that the men had got on the wrong train this was just a normal passenger train like the first one that helmet tried to rob it just didn't have ten million dollars in it they'd actually gotten on the wrong train that was like 15 minutes earlier than the other one had they just went at 50 minutes I properly checked the time then they'd be on the right train but no regardless they tried to make the most of the situation and they tried stealing literally because people's watches people's jewelry and he kind of cash laying about they stole two bottles of whiskey that they found someone and it's reported that because this group of men was so big and the amount of money that they managed to steal was so small they got about five dollars each from this from this big master plan that was going to make them millions of dollars richer they all got five dollars at the time it was reported in papers as one of the smallest in the history of trend robberies so the men got on the run again and Elmer ends up at some guy's farm I don't really understand this part of the story he ends up at this guy's farm and this guy decides to let him stay in one of the barns just until he like got back on his feet got himself a job I think he did know he was a criminal and he was harboring it because literally the next morning after this you know huge Train Robbery that they just did Elmer was found by police now I definitely think it was the farm owner that probably rat him in because there was a reward out for Elmer like thousands of dollars so it seems likely to me that this farm guy knew that he was one I didn't even say oh you can you can stay at my farm and then on the slide was like to police that have gotten so police sent bloodhounds into the farm to go in look here Elmer's exact location and police hung about outside this barn until daylight and as soon as Elmer spotted them outside he began shooting so now believes knew that this was not going to be a peaceful arrest that's originally what they wanted they just wanted to arrest him they weren't gonna kill him but now he was trying to kill them so you know if he showed his face he was gonna get shot and killed now this bit doesn't make much sense to me but I'm gonna tell it anyway I want to know what you guys think of this bit but somehow Elmer was shot and killed when he was laying face down on the floor he had a gunshot wound through his chest but apparently it went like horizontally through his chest but if he was inside the barn shooting at police how was he doing that laid on the floor first out like the gun wouldn't be high enough to shoot at police so that meant kind of uses me I don't know if the shootout story's real either way Elmer mccurdy was shot and killed because he didn't have any family in this area remember he left his family ages ago and he was like in his teen years so they had no idea where he was they had no idea that he was dead and so police just took his body to like a local funeral home for them to sort him out and see if his family came to claim him in the meantime what funeral directors did back then was if the you know body didn't have a family to come and clear in them the funeral director would modify them then wooden barn them and try and like preserve them as well as they could until someone finally came to claim the body and give it a proper burial so that is why Alma McCurdy's body was mummified but this is where it gets unethical to say the least the funeral director sorry appropriate once he'd modified Alma's body to display it in the front lobby of his of his funeral shop he had him stood up like a decoration just a dead corpse in a funeral home of all places he did it because he claimed he hadn't been paid by the state by the government or whatever to autopsy and embody and so he was doing it kind of as a threat like like pay me for my services that you wanted me to do and I'll stop being unethical with this body because until Elmer's family come and clear him he is the funeral directors property so technically he can stand him up in the funeral home even though that's horrific ly unethical it's his property he can do what he wants so I don't think the government cared that much because they never pitched this funeral director through services and saw Elmer's body stood in that funeral home for five years as a decoration just stand-in there and word got around that there was a dead body attraction in this city and it became like a low-level tourist attraction like people wanted to come and see this body people would come to the funeral home and leave like pennies in his mouth that's how he had the penny in his mouth they kind of like how are you doing a wishing well are like a fountain or something like that put them in his mouth for good look and as all the business owners got wind of this tourist attraction this dead body in the funeral home they found out that it was brilliant people in they wanted a piece of this themselves they wanted a dead body but how do you get a dead body in an ethical way to use as a decoration you can't so everyone all these business owners and like entertainers were trying to buy elba McCurdy's body from this funeral director but this funeral director was not selling his business has been the best infant in a long time he was getting people coming to see this body and they were paying however the funeral director did to try and make it out like he was doing this for the right reasons I don't know let me keep Elmer's body just in case his family come back for him obviously wasn't that I was because Elvis body was now making him money there is rumors online and now I don't know how true these are that the funeral director and his sons would use Elmer's body to scare the local neighborhood kids like a real dead body they would put it on rollerskates and like push it at them and there's also rumors that there were multiple embalmed bodies in this like Funeral Director office at one point again I don't know how true that is apparently or the criminals and then after five years on display the funeral director claims that Elmer's long-lost brother Kim and collected his body for a proper burial what brother what brother he didn't have a brother and it just so happened that the weekend that his long-lost brother came to collect Elmer's body there was a carnival in town and where did Allman's body end up a carnival I think somebody finally made the funeral director and offered that he couldn't refuse and he sold Elma McCurdy's body to a traveling circus in 1922 so 11 after his death and after six years of traveling with the circus samba McCurdy's body was sold to Luis Sonny now if you remember Luis Sonny's Museum of crime but this was the muddiest attraction at that Museum this museum was kind of kind of rubbish other than that it just had like pictures and information on the walls and a couple of wax figures but now they had a dead body so like in the first room of this museum you're like going through all these tiny little like trinkets and stuff and like reading about them and a couple of wax figures and then you go in this other room and there is a real human corpse of a criminal and of course in his autopsy they found stubs to this museum in his throat now I don't know whether Luis Sonny encouraged his museum goers to put the stubs in his mouth kind of like a good luck thing or if like some museum goers took it upon themselves to be that disrespectful and still the demand for this dead body was huge everyone was always offering Luis Sonny large amounts of money to give them the body and he at first liked it being part of this museum - he denied all the offers and then he thought why am i denying all these offers when I could be making money so instead of selling it he decided to rent it out for a certain amount of time a real human corpse I keep saying it I keep saying the words like corpse and dead body but like think about it this is insane that one point Luis Sonny rented Elmer mccurdy his body to a race company so a company that would put on races like foot races like people running a company would host these races and they would go from town to town and this owner and the rest hired Elmer mccurdy and just took him around the races from like checkpoint to checkpoint to see people as they were written passed I don't understand that either but by the time this race company brought Elmer McCurdy's body back to Luis Sonny it was in pretty bad conviction it had been bubbly wind damaged apparently he was missing a couple of fingers a couple of toes and the tips of his ears as well and so Luis Sonny decided that he didn't want this body in his possession anymore he rented Alma's body to a movie director which never actually ended up using the body in the movie but he did use Elmer's body for promotional purposes so whenever there'd be a screening of this movie he would take the body and just put it in the theater lobby for like movie goers to walk past after this movie director had finished with the cart he gave it back to Luis Sonny and Luis Sonny at this point was over it like he was getting a bit old at this point and he no longer wanted to be ready now a dead body as his job who wants that and so he put the body into storage and pretty much just forgot about it and retired and eventually passed away and when he did pass away in 1949 he left everything to his son Dan Sonny including the dead body of Alma mccurdy and Dan didn't know what to do he was actually really uncomfortable the fact that he owned this and he kind of wanted to get rid of it as soon as he could eventually he rented it to another movie director for a couple of years and the body was actually used in a movie I'm not gonna tell you which movie because I feel like that's kind of unethical on my part to say that we can find it online if you really want that and then when that movie director was done with it he gave it back to Dan Sonny damn son he put it back in the storage tried to forget about it as much as he could because at this point it was like the 1960s into the 1970s and it wasn't as swept under the carpet like if someone found out that Dan Sonny had this dead body they'd be like whoa whoa whoa and then in 1968 two entrepreneurs turn up on down Sonny's doorstep and said we want to buy all of your wax figures from you and Dan Sonny jumped at this chance and sold them all for $10,000 all of his father's old wax figures from the crime museum he was just waiting to get rid of them the entrepreneurs claimed that they didn't that this was a real human corpse but like a lot of people think that they did and that's why they came directly to Dan sunny instead of going to someone else for wax figures I don't know there's a lot of seedy business going around surrounding this body I don't believe that any of them thought that it was a wax figure it just didn't look like a wax figure either because at this point his body had like shrunken it was all weedy it was like four foot tall it was like missing toes missing fingers like it it didn't look like the other wax figures it was creepy so the entrepreneurs began setting up this like troubling wax figure exhibit and eventually they decided that Alba McCurdy's body was just way too creepy looking it didn't look like the other wax figures it looked like a shrunken human being they thought he was way too scary looking way too grotesque to have on display and so instead they decided to make him a horror attraction one of them came up with the idea to put him inside of a coffin and then when someone walked past the coffin it likes alpha-sensor or something and the coffin would like fly up and an elder McCurdy's dead body would fly the person so anywhere this entrepreneur began setting about create in this coffin contraption he drilled holes into Elmo's feet to be able to like attach him to like the base of this coffin and when he did a load of yellow liquid mousse out of his feet it was all over the drill tell me that's not a red flag but somehow these entrepreneurs thought that they were still wax figures wax figures don't have yellow liquid inside them so after a few years this kind of wax work attraction thing that the men had go in was not proven very fruitful it wasn't paying very well anymore and so they decided to just abandon it and when I say abandon I mean abandon like completely run and leave everything all the wax figures all the all everything including Elmer mccurdy so of course the government had to try and like free up this lot for another business to go and no one was claiming any of this stuff so Elmer mccurdy along with all the other wax figures went into their storage but at this point their storage they're like free storage was full answer instead of you know getting another storage lot they're kept all of that stuff in the electrician's closet the electrician worked in a closet with a dead body for a year and the McCurdy's body was kept in there for a full year in this man's like office pretty much so for about a year or two it was just kind of stick property it was in storage in this electrician closet and they were constantly looking for ways to get rid of it like they didn't want it but they couldn't just abandon it in case whoever's it was came back so they were waiting for someone to buy it off them and that was when this new carnival was opening in Long Beach in California called the pike and I'm sure you can see this going full circle now they're needed newer props for their fun house called the laughs in the dark and so the government or whoever like earned this these wax figures sold them to the laughs in the dark fun house they painted them and they put them up in that fun house slash horror game exhibit feature whatever it was so yeah skip forward to 1976 the body has just been discovered on the set of this TV show in 1976 and police have now taken it back to a funeral directors not the same one because Jesus Christ but they took you back to air funeral directors just in case Elmer mccurdy had any like distant ancestors that wanted to claim him and give him a proper burial but no one ever did and so he was given a state burial and just to make sure that no one ever like dug up his body again he was buried under two feet of concrete but yeah that completes those kids I told you it was a bit different I've never done anything like that before but yeah thank you so so much for watching if you enjoyed make sure you leave a big thumbs up and
