hello ladies and gentlemen my name is EAS and welcome back to the channel I think that's the very first time I've done one of those traditional YouTube intro things but that's because I really want to get straight into the meat of this video and if you don't already know then first of all go read the damn title again but we are taking every support weapon in Hell divers 2 and throwing them in a tier list well actually two tier lists because I'll be ranking them in the context of both the terid and automatons how this is going to work is I'm going to be talking about every weapon individually then throw them into both determinate and tomaton lists at the same time I also do not have an F tier because I truly believe that every support weapon in this game is at least usable at worst I don't think there are truly any Trash tier weapons at the moment the truth is you could probably go into any game with any weapon and be perfectly okay especially if you're playing with a team solo play is a little different but this isn't a list solely focused on solo play this tier list is evaluating these weapons on a large scale and letting every aspect of the weapon factor into the ranking I'll also be talking about them in alphabetical order so it's not just going from D tier to S tier which could be kind of boring if I did it that way and also the order from left to right does matter so we will eventually get to a number one weapon in both factions the last thing I have to say before we get started is I know this video will probably be a bit controversial because that's just how it goes when ranking well anything on the internet but also the beautiful part about this game is that I think for the most part your choice of weapon comes down to preference especially right now where there is much less of a meta and I'm seeing so many different loadouts in every game so yeah I know people will disagree with me on some things and agree with others that's totally fine I welcome differing opinions you won't offend me trust me but let's do our best to keep it Cil in the comments so with all of that out of the way here is my support weapon tier list in Hell divers 2 patch 1.400 edition first up we've got the airburst rocket launcher this is a weapon that I hated on release it got hot fixed and I still hated it honestly but since then every time I've used it it has slowly grown on me a little bit more and I think that stems from just how satisfying this weapon can feel there is nothing more fun than shooting an airburst shot into a big group of bugs and watching your kill streak go from nothing to 15 it's very good at taking out the smaller enemies and it does so in a really fun fashion especially when you do it at a really long range which other weapons simply can't do honestly it's really cool to sit back spot aord of hunters that is 150 M away and just blast them Skyhigh but unfortunately killing clumped up groups of weaker enemies is really all the airburst as good for pretty much anything that is at the level of a brood Commander or better and it's going to take you two plus shots to take them out honestly some units below that even are a little difficult to take out and that would be perfectly fine if the reload time wasn't so godamn long and if it brought a little more utility to the table it technically can close bug holes and kill Fabricators but then you're just wasting shots in a weapon that doesn't have much ammo to begin with plus it does literally nothing to most buildings it cannot damage spor Speers or Streaker Nest so you're looking at at a rocket launcher that is pretty Half Baked compared to the others in the game and against the amatons I would not dare to ever bring this thing because the fact is that it's only going to be decent against things like Scout Striders and Troopers which are the lowest tier of Bot units and they're super easy to deal with anything above those guys and you're looking at two plus shots which is just way too much my consensus with this weapon is that it has all the downsides of a traditional rocket launcher but instead of killing high priority units it instead kills the chaff so at that point I figure why would you ever choose this weapon over other hord clear weapons which have far more ammo don't require backpack slots and don't have ungodly reload times so despite this weapon definitely growing on me its best feature is being a longrange hord clear weapon and that just doesn't bring much value to the table for me I apologize to airburst fans I know there's not many of you out there but for those of you that do exist I'm sorry this is a c-tier weapon against terminates and a d tier against automatons next up we've got the anti-material rifle if you ask anyone that knows me they can vouch that the AMR is my personal favorite weapon in the game against the automatons I think this is a gun that can do pretty much everything against the clankers the only unit it truly struggles with is the factory Strider it can't really damage it at all but we all know this is a unit that you're going to be using orbitals and Eagles on anyway so I don't consider that much of a ding I really have no other way of explaining how amazing the AMR is against automatons it has high damage medium armor penetration can kill Hulks and tanks absolutely Stomps Devastators and can even take down gunships barring the factory Strider there is nothing that the automatons can throw at you that you'll struggle with even tanks are super easy to get behind and shoot in the vent and at that point this weapon just collaps but despite being a massive AMR fan against bots over on the bug front it's very average in my head I look at the terminats and there are two huge bars to judge the weapons by obviously there are other metrics that you're going to want to look at when talking about weapons but these are the first two I consider the first is the ability to kill high priority targets like Chargers and bile Titans and the second is the ability to clear chaff typically most weapons can only do one of these things but sometimes you get the rare case where it can't do either and that is the AMR unlike the automaton front there are simply not enough medium tier threats that the bugs have to justify giving this weapon a high ranking sure against brood commanders Hive guards and bile Speers this thing is pretty good but my case is that you could take any other hord clear weapon in the game and it's not only good at clearing those units that I just talked about but it's also good at destroying the small guys the fact is the AMR is not good at hord clear and cannot do consistent and significant harm two Chargers or bile Titans but that doesn't mean it's useless here again it can really shine against those medium armored units but there are also primaries in the game that can do that so I find far more value in other weapons so against terminats I'm putting the antimaterial rifle in B tier and against the automatons again this thing slaps so it's going straight into s tier next up we've got the arc thrower a gun that I refer to as the Jack of all trades just think about it it has unlimited ammo and high damage but has to charge up shots it has hord clear but can only hit a few enemies at a time you don't have to have any skill to aim but sometimes it hits stuff you don't want it to hit including teammates it ignores armor but doesn't have high enough damage to kill large enemies quickly all in all I think this weapon can do pretty much everything but it does it worse than everything else so you will be equipped to deal with most situations but the arc thrower won't be dealing with those situations at incredibly high efficiency for example if you see a big bug horde ahead of you this weapon can definitely take care of them but a support weapon that's built for hord Clear like the nade launcher or stalwart will kill that horde much faster or if you've got a charger running you down the ark thrower can eventually kill it but it'll take so long that your teammates will finish the main objective and board the extraction shuttle by the time it goes down this weapon also doesn't have great range and you'd prefer for enemies to be clumped up so against automatons I think it's just not optimal at all on bugs you usually have the time to stand out in the open and kite with the ark thrower but against bugs you're just going to get blown up before you even get your third shot off for terminates the arc thrower is the definition of average so it's going into B tier behind the AMR and again against the amatons we've got our s DTI weapon going behind the airburst up next I think a lot of people will be excited by this one the autoc cannon this is so many hell divers personal favorite weapon and I don't blame them it's for a good reason this weapon hasn't been changed a single time since the game was released no Nerfs no Buffs no huge bug fixes straight up it's just been the gold standard of weapon design the autoc cannon is a beautifully designed piece of Weaponry but I'm not here to talk about my feelings about how beautiful this thing looks and sounds I will do that on my own my own time in the shower so I'll just cut to the chase the autoc cannon is fantastic against both factions spoiler alert but the autoc Canon is my number one automaton weapon it does everything the anti-material rifle can do but with the added benefit of being explosive being able to damage Factory Striders and having a far faster bullet travel time which makes it much easier to hit certain enemies the only downside is that it requires a backpack but honestly that is a very small price to pay to get one of Humanity's greatest achievements in your hands it is unfortunately not good against the terminates but it is still a top tier Choice it can damage every unit in the game including bot Titans and Chargers it's not the best weapon to take them down as you'll have to shoot the charger in the butt and the bile Titan can tank a ton of shots but it's a fantastic compliment to a teammate's quazar or air strike on top of that being explosive with a high fire rate means it has a fairly decent hord clear capability and high single Target DPS to stomp out any medium enemies plus it absolutely smokes buildings like the spor spe realistically no matter what front you bring this weapon on you will be equipped to deal with any situation that Joel can throw at you this weapon is going straight to the S tier against the terminates but over on the automaton list I am locking it up as my number one weapon no questions asked up next we've got the rocket launchers I'm going to be ranking these three together the eat recoil and quazar so the reason I'm ranking them all at the same time is that they kind of all perform the exact same in terms of damage and functionality but differed slightly in mechanics so just to give a really simple recap because I'm not sure many people need to hear this but I'll say it anyway the Expendable anti-tank has a very low coold down comes in pairs of two but can only be shot once before you have to drop it The Recoil list comes with a backpack and has a long reload time that renders you stationary and the quazar does not require a backpack or have to be reloaded but must be charged every time you want to shoot and has a cooldown timer between shots in the past these three weapons were basically the Staples of higher difficulties keep in mind at this time the spear did not work and the charger Behemoth was not in the game so if you were on a buz Mission any of these launchers can handle anything that was thrown at you that was until the last major patch which fixed the spear and added the charger Behemoth the Behemoth is a far more common version of the standard charger which has higher armor meaning these launchers cannot One-Shot them in the face although there is a really weird momentum mechanic that exists which sometimes allows them to be one shot still but I'm not going to give this much weight as it's very inconsistent either way with the introduction of the Behemoth these Chargers could now not do what they did best which was to instantly dispose of chargers over on the bot front not much has changed except for the fact that the spear is a better version of all three of these launchers despite those things all these launchers remain fine choices for any faction or Mission and it really just comes down to whatever one you prefer the most but these weapons really have suffered from the introduction of behemoths and the spear being a far superior Choice doesn't help their ranking all three are going into a tier on both factions in my personal favorite order of quazar e and recoil and now we've got everyone's new favorite the flamethrower we're going to start this conversation on the the bug front because this thing is more than amazing since the addition of charger behemoths this thing has skyrocketed in use it's also one of the only weapons in the game that has only been buffed since release I remember in the first patch ever it got some really small damage Buffs then we got a new module which increased its damage by 25% and then charger Behemoth got added which made it one of the best weapons in the game on the bug front Behemoth may have a higher armor value but the flamethrower just doesn't care at all it absolutely Cooks both versions of chargers and with the wild amount of behemoth that are on higher difficulties this weapon is the most well-rounded support weapon choice that exists it not only deals with chargers but anything below them just get absolutely toasted and burnt to a crisp and it does so in a large area so it's a fantastic hord Clear Choice as well like I said earlier on the bug front the two most important metrics to judge a weapon by are its ability to kill High tier units or hord clear and the flamethrower can do both it's only limited by bile Titans it can technically damage them but like the arc thrower it does such little damage and takes so long that you are far better off using an eagle or orbital to take it out over on the automaton front though I don't have much to say but the flamethrower is just pretty bad you honestly would have to be a Madman to use this thing because it has such low range and being able to get into this range consistently is just a death sentence especially considering it doesn't kill Devastators or hulks nearly fast enough the flamethrower is an easy s tier weapon against terminat going ahead of the autoc cannon but over on the bot front we've got our third D tier weapon Landing in last place I just want to say before moving on that it's actually really good design that a weapon can be so good against one faction and so bad against another big props got out to the devs for that one because I think it's really cool to have the strength of weapons depend on the faction you play against but anyway now we've got the biggest boy and I mean that literally the heavy machine gun this is a gun that by all accounts was garbage before the big patch I know it had some fans but even they can admit that the HMG was overshadowed by pretty much everything else in the game this gun had too high of a fire rate even at the lowest setting it didn't do enough damage didn't feel powerful had a disgustingly long reload time and I mean I could go on and on with this one the pre-buff HMG was just straight up bad luckily though when the major patch rolled around Arrow had addressed every concern and a little bit more they gave it more damage lower fire rate higher stagger and a lower reload time it's a little weird to try to define the role of the HMG against the terid because really it kind of does everything it can hoard clear decently because its bullets are so powerful that it typically only takes one shot to kill any of the light units it absolutely destroys any medium tier units and it starts to struggle a bit against Titans and Chargers it can definitely solo a charger if you aim for the butt but I'd recommend going a different route if faced with a Titan over in the automaton front though there is nothing the HMG Can't Handle by itself it can take down Hulks and just a few shots to the face can bring down gunships but my favorite part by far is just how well it handles Devastators it doesn't care what variant whether the standard shield or rocket the HMG will One Tap them in the head or alternatively just a few body shots and they will just go down the biggest issue with this weapon is that it struggles with ammo on both fronts it only comes with two spare mags with 75 bullets each so you do actually run out of ammo relatively fast on top of this sometimes if a powerful enough enemy is on the move it can actually be quite difficult to hit their weak spots these issues can be completely thrown out the window by comining it with the supply pack and stun grenades which might genuinely create the best automaton Loadout in the game I'm placing the heavy machine gun at the back of the a tier against terides and against the automatons it's going straight to the S tier right in front of the AMR now on to the grenade launcher against the terminats the grenade launcher is by far the best hord clear weapon in the game it deletes hordes of enemies no matter what's inside that horde really the only two enemies that the nade launcher struggles against are Titans and Chargers but again everything else that the bugs will throw at you will be turned into guts much like the HMG build if you pair the grenade launcher with the supply pack you have such a massive surplus of ammo that you can simply use the nade launcher as your primary for pretty much the entire game over on the automaton front the nade launcher is just okay as you'll come to see with some of the last items in this tier list I really don't value hord clear at all when it comes to the Bots there aren't nearly enough enemies to justify taking a support weapon strictly to clear low tiers of units luckily the grenade launcher has pretty decent single Target damage and can be used to take down Devastators but that's just about all it's good at here there are far better options on the automaton front for my termined list the grenade launcher lands at the top of the a tier but over on the automaton front it's our first c-tier item I bit my tongue talking about that does that does that mean my ranking is bad there oh crap next up is the laser cannon so honestly I had no idea where to even start talking about this weapon against determinance I have spent 30 minutes trying to put it into words and redoing this recording that's also because I bit my tongue but I just straight up just couldn't find the words for this weapon because I hate it it doesn't do anything well at least against the bugs again I'm talking about bugs here it overheats too fast it doesn't kill enemies fast enough like honestly every time I've used this weapon it just makes me genuinely wish I was using something else it's a painful experience in my opinion I'm sure a lot of you out there really have a good time using it and enjoy it but for me personally I simply just can't like this weapon but like I said earlier in the video no single weapon is useless and the laser cannon definitely isn't but I can't think of a single thing this weapon does better than any other support weapon in the game however over on the automaton front the laser cannon is pretty solid I have a feeling that it was designed to fight automatons because the only real strategy with this thing is hitting automaton heads which are are already really small but having a laser makes it really easy to hit so I just believe this weapon had to be designed for use against amatons which is why it's so bad against bugs it's just not optimal against them I actually genuinely like this weapon against the Bots it can take down pretty much every enemy it just doesn't do it super efficiently personally I'd much rather just one tap an automaton in the head rather than having to hold my laser on its head for a few seconds but it still gets the job done either way you know funnily enough when I was using this weapon I actually found that it did best against gunships because it's a literal laser and is extremely accurate so you can just hold it on Gunship engines and toast them so against terminats the laser cannon is our lone D tier weapon but on the automaton front I think it's a very solid B it's just average and that's exactly what the B tier is there for so we're on to our last four weapons with some fan favorites including the spear coming up for watching and let's rank these last few guns up now we've got the mg43m sheine gun the default the classic the OG whatever you want to call it this is the gun we all used when we were mere hell diver cadetes and honestly it has stood the test of time it has definitely struggled at times but after the last patch I think the mg 43 is a really solid Choice against bugs I love having the option between the mg the stalwart and the HMG they all feel unique enough to Warrant preferring one over the other but quite honestly I think the mg is my least favorite of the three that being said it's not bad just not as good as the others if you ask me it truly is a very close call between the stalwart and the mg but I think having a little bit higher damage in armor penetration isn't worth the smaller mag size and really long reload times I much prefer staying on the move with the stalwart or having the intense damage of the HMG but again this doesn't make the mg- 43 bad I still really like it however the automatons do make this gun look bad I hate this thing against the Bots I will not be running it anytime soon on that front like I said when ranking the nade launcher I think hord clear weapons just have infinitely less value against bots than they do bugs and it really starts to show with this weapon honestly it's not too terrible here but the biggest issue is is that it really starts to feel like another primary weapon where you just end up tapping shots and aiming for automaton heads but again for the termined the mg 43 is great so it's going to land in front of the AMR in the B tier and against bots this weapon is sadly in the D tier next to the ark thrower next up we've got another OG in the rail gun if you were playing hell divers 2 on release you'll know what I'm talking about this gun was in everybody's load out once they hit Level 20 it was the breaker Shield Pack and rail gun nothing could stop this combo except of course Arrowhead themselves when they nerfed all three of the items at the same time unfortunately the rail gun definitely suffered the most from those Nerfs and even though it has been tweaked and buffed a few times since it is nowhere near its former glory and it probably never will be again it's still a solid gun but it doesn't bring anything crazy to the table it has really high damage but it is one single bullet so most of the time you end up only killing one enemy it can still strip charger leg armor and can still damage bile Titans but against both enemies you are far better off taking a different support weapon this gun is just kind of in a weird spot where it doesn't have a place in the game because whatever it can do something else can do it better and single Target damage that can't kill a charger or bile Titan is kind of useless on the bug front against bots though I think it's a little better but it's basically an anti-material rifle with less ammo less versatility and a charge time that can actually kill you if you aren't too careful so unfortunately my former favorite gun in the game is landing in the C tier against bugs and the B tier against bots and now we are finally at the gun that works for the first time since release you should already know what that means but I'll say it anyway it's everybody's favorite the spear for the first and only time in this video I'm going to talk about this weapon just in general not specifically about factions because the faction doesn't really matter here this weapon is absolutely insane no matter what faction you're against no matter what enemies you're against and no matter what planet you're on the spear can genuinely do everything in this game it can One-Shot bile Titans one shot hulks oneshot Chargers one-hot tanks oneshot most buildings and the list goes on even the factory strier which no weapon is good against the spear can pump Two Shots into it plus an air strike and it'll go down the only downside of this weapon is the ammo capacity but that's mainly because the packing module isn't working once that gets working again you will genuinely be AOK with ammo as long as you aren't shooting this thing willy-nilly I don't even really know how to better hype this weapon up because I think it generally just speaks for itself if you have used it this patch you will 100% agree with my placement here this gun is insane I have no further comments the spear is the number one weapon against terid and a very close number two against aat the only reason the autoc cannon places ahead of it is because the spear can sometimes struggle with getting a good angle to one shot Hulks and just overall the autoc cannon can provide a little more versatility against lower classes of enemies finally it's our last weapon in the list you probably haven't been keeping track but if you're a fan of this weapon you're probably asking where the hell is it here it is now it's the stalwart another straight up classic weapon this is another gun that many people killed their first thousand bugs with they probably came face to face with their first biot Titan with this gun in their hands this gun made Cadets into Space Cadets all right and that's a big upgrade it may be a really lowlevel weapon but that doesn't mean anything it has stayed true and stayed solid since launch Arrowhead even buffed it last patch solidifying it even further as one of the most solid weapons hell divers can access the stalwart makes incredibly quick work of any lightly armored unit on the termined front including some medium tier units like stalkers and brood commanders comparing it to the mg 43o a bit faster has a bigger mag and allows you to reload on the run which is a massive benefit perhaps the biggest setting it apart from the mg as I said earlier I actually do prefer the stall to the mg and that is a big reason being able to reload on the run it's a huge benefit when fighting bugs because unlike automatons these dudes just kind of mindlessly walk at you so a lot of the time you simply don't have enough time to get down on one knee and spend four seconds on the floor the stalwart can basically do everything the mg 43 can except for damaging medium tier units there is something to be said for that but I don't think it holds a big factor here as realistically when you are taking either of these machine guns you are taking it to blast down the smaller enemies over on the automaton front this weapon struggles with the same thing the mg 43 does it simply isn't great at far ranges and when you get closer to your enemies you would much rather have something that is more made for precision there just aren't enough small enemies to justify the stward against bots and that's simply how it is for my termined list I'm placing the starart at the best of the B tier right ahead of the mg 43 however against bots it's Landing in the D tier and what you're looking at on screen there are my finalized lists for both factions I know that some people will disagree actually scratch that most people will probably disagree but the beautiful part about this game is that again every weapon is useful and I think it really just comes down to personal preference a lot of the time so it's totally cool if you disagree with my list it's just my list not the right list so make sure you put your opinions down below so
