[Music] terror of demons the real saint joseph we're going to talk about the real saint joseph who he actually was and why this title of terror of demons is so important welcome to the kennedy report i'm kennedy hall at the miracle of the sun saint joseph appeared in the sky holding the child jesus and gave a priestly blessing the message of fatima is about a chastisement but also about a restoration we are reminded that just as joseph is an integral part of the life of jesus and mary he is an integral part of the efforts of heaven in the world through the message of fatima we cannot understand the fullness of our times the chastisement we are going through and the fulfillment of the message of fatima if we do not contemplate and understand saint joseph's role in all this before i continue please subscribe to this channel like this video donate by offering a donation through our website fatima.org if you would and please check out everything that we have going on to help you grow in your faith and to spread the truth about the message of fatima in a pc that has been filled with let's say interesting developments it's putting it kindly we're reminded that the office of the pope is truly needed for the good of the church when nice things happen his proclamation of the year of saint joseph is a happy development and we must make the most of it it is god who is ultimately in control of the church and when the name of saint joseph is honored even if it's put forth by someone who's not always trustworthy doesn't matter the foster father of our lord the earthly father of jesus christ will deliver saint joseph will present himself in all truth and god will not be mocked so what a perfect opportunity for us to take back the truth about saint joseph and grow in devotion to the saint who stands near the pinnacle of the pantheon of god's beloved servants in a world where virtue and perhaps most importantly manhood are ill-understood and undermined the earthly father of our lord is the perfect remedy in a way we might even be reminded that god is truly in charge of history as it is his story after all and when the world groans in travail he raises up a cure for all our ills the demon is bold in our day and his minions lurk around every single corner waiting to devour unwitting souls on the gradual slope to perdition no earthly force will save us no politician will do this on his own no one will stem the tide and no half-hearted solution exists it is the hour of saint joseph he is the terror of demons and he is a father ready to rescue his children who have been kidnapped the time is now perhaps some readers may be aware but for those who are not aware i have written a book called terror of demons reclaiming traditional catholic masculinity the easiest way to find this book is to visit kennedy hall dot ca it is a strange phenomenon that i wrote this book to be honest it's been more successful than i ever imagined but i'm a prodigal son of the church like many in today's church and i lived far away from god for many years i won't provide details because thank goodness for the secrecy of the confessional but suffice it to say that for a long time i was on the wrong path all the while i had no idea even though i was acting like a son of perdition i was actually a son of saint joseph when i began writing my book i initially did not have any conscious inspiration in mind about who i was writing it for other than that i wanted to write something to help men arise to serve and to help save holy mother church after i'd finished the manuscript i was on a retreat and in this chapel there was a beautiful image of the holy family with a very manly young and vigorous youthful image of saint joseph i was in the chapel i just finished this manuscript and i asked god for guidance about what to name the book at this point i still didn't have a title to my knowledge i had never gone through the litany of saint joseph in my life but somehow out of nowhere god answered my prayers and i began to hear in my mind's eye terror of demons terror of demons heard it over and over again and again i had never read the litany of saint joseph i didn't know that was one of his titles from then on it was clear what i would call my book it would be called tare of demons and i was clear who inspired my book the whole time i even decided to embark on a series of articles about the life of saint joseph which can be found at our website fatima.org and it's also the appendix to my book now personally i had always kept in my mind my no no god rest his soul that's italian for grandfather i had him in the forefront of my thoughts i thought he was my inspiration and he partly was and i actually dedicated this book to him he was heroic in my life and he was perhaps the only faithful catholic left in my extended family he really was a man of stalwart virtue and i miss him every day in any case i carry his namesake as one of my middle names his name was giuseppe thus joseph is my middle name all those morning offerings i had prayed over the years i had been asking for as the prayer goes the intercession of the saint whose name it is my honor to bear and i for some reason some silly reason i never clued into who this was i remember praying to myself or praying to god but speaking in my mind i remember thinking whoever my baptismal name was i can't remember please this saint could you please intercede for me today because i was thinking my middle name was from my no-no not putting two and two together that it was actually joseph i had this vague idea that i possessed this long forgotten name at any rate it struck me after i wrote this book that my birthday is also in the early evening of march 18th which is the vigil of saint joseph's feast day i was supposed to write this book my whole life i think and i think god kind of has a funny sense of humor in any case there is a tradition of pious art in the church that does depict joseph as an older man and from what i can tell this comes from sort of a legend from the proto-evangelium of james which is an apocryphal book there are some things that are true in it but it's not trustworthy as far as scripture goes which is why it wasn't included in the bible in this book or in this collection of works joseph is actually depicted as an older widower who had lost you know a wife and had children from a previous marriage now the reason for this apparently is that they wanted to explain how joseph could be chased and the idea that he was an older man who already had kids okay i understand the logic of that but that's not supported by the strongest testimonies and tradition of our great saints and theologians in our church for example the most ancient depictions of saint joseph show him as a younger man saint jerome defends this belief as well as others and saint jerome was already holding this as a long-standing position and he's writing in the late 300s and early 400s so that's you know two three centuries after christ and the apostolic age it ends around the year 100 i mean within a short time saint jerome is already calling it a long-standing tradition that joseph was a young vigorous and and very vibrant young man well that means it's been around since the beginning jerome also stressed that joseph lived and died without ever forsaking his virginity which also calls into question this again pious tradition that he's some sort of widower other great early fathers like saint athanasius and gregory nasienzis they also say the same thing now to strengthen the strength in this tradition the doctrine that he was confirmed in grace is also also overwhelming he was conceived in original sin that's true but in a similar manner to saint john the baptist joseph was somehow regenerated in grace in his mother's womb francisco suarez bernardine de bustis saint francis de sales jean garcon excuse me isadora izolano saint alphonsus liguori and cornelius lapide just to name some big hitters in church history they all hold the same belief about his sanctification in his mother's womb again like saint john the baptist they also believe he was preserved from all sin his whole life now could we really expect anything less from the head of the holy family just think about that for a sec your jesus christ in the same way you have selected mary the virgin mary from all eternity in some providential way i don't understand how the time works but it's something that's known but still happens and lives reality well would we not think that god would put the same care in choosing who will be the foster father who raises him think about it i mean you're god you're going to get the best parents possible it's not really hard to imagine now um it should also be thought of for a second that he's the spouse the earthly spouse of mary think of what she's worthy of you're not going to have just someone on the b team let's put it that way you're going to have the cream of the crop and this fits perfectly with the idea that joseph although conceived original sin was sanctified lived and died a virgin so what was saint joseph like well the new testament does not record one single spoken word or phrase but we do know of at least two words that he said all the time jesus and mary he spoke the names of the holy diotokos and her son the second person of the most holy trinity not only did he speak their names but he spoke to them and he cultivated a relationship of deep love and affection that would take our breath away were we to understand its fullness if we want to know what the man was like we ought to look at the fact that he is the head of the holy family you see the virgin mary in the pantheon of saints she is the highest saint nobody can pass her saintliness as far as a human person goes christ is obviously a divine person that's a different story but so latria which is the full worship of god that is offered to christ hyperdulia which is a term that means the highest of veneration that is offered to the virgin mary but in addition proto-dulia is offered to saint joseph as sort of the second highest saint in heaven as after the virgin mary he is highest among creatures he's not just any saint and his proximity to jesus and mary tells us something of how special he must be think of how special he must be to be chosen for that role now even though he is lower in the hierarchy than his spouse and his son jesus and mary he is still the head of the holy family which means he led the blessed mother and christ god incarnate during his time on earth it is astonishing to consider if we contemplate the absolute humility that not only christ had but also the immaculata herself as they would willingly exhibit uh or willingly be under the guidance of a man who was technically speaking beneath them think about that for a second in the hierarchy of the holy family jesus mary joseph as far as saintliness goes and veneration but in the hierarchy of the order of the holy family joseph is at the top it's amazing but again when we focus uh only on jesus and mary we miss the magnanimity of who joseph was in the background his humility is legendary and he accepts a mission that he's not qualified for in the earthly sense the headship of god incarnate and being the spouse of the spouse of the holy ghost because he does this because he sees his duty to obey god in all things even though he knows from an earthly sense he's not worthy jesus maxim of the last will be first and the first will be last i believe that this comes alive in the dynamic of the holy family maybe as christ uttered these words during his public ministry he had joseph on his mind that's something very beautiful to contemplate imagine what sort of man joseph must have been to guide the virgin mary and her son perhaps we might pause for just a second and think of his title as the chaste guardian as of the virgin as we consider the type of certain servant leadership that he must have exhibited call to mind that journey just before christmas that mary and joseph took for the census leading up for the time for christ's birth it is believed that they took a route called the jordan valley route and this descends to the lowest point on earth and they pass by the dead sea it's also the way to jericho a city known for danger the prefigurement of this voyage cannot be understated our lady led by saint joseph carried our lord beside the lifeless waters of the lowest pit on earth saint joseph guarded the most holy virgin through this land of death envision the criminal present that presence that must have been around as they go by a city at the lowest part of the earth known for crime just think about what happens in the good samaritan story on the way to jericho that's why it's talked about because of the criminal activity and the robbings and the theming that took place all the time saint joseph was perfectly aware of the spiritual forces and earthly forces that were there waiting for them now almost as if guiding a monstrance as our lady processed the body of christ through this land of death that was their journey the priest of the holy family he is the domestic priest of the holy family processed his wife and unborn son amongst the valley of death it is here that king david's words come alive for though i should walk in the midst of the shadow of death i will fear no evils for thou art with me thy rod and thy staff they have comforted me perhaps mary contemplated these words rubbing her womb as she looked up at her loving husband and his strong masculine countenance with each dominating footstep saint joseph sent a warning the depths of hell that the coming of christ was approaching through the dark of night he led the bestial chariot of our lady her perfect holiness lighting the way while saint joseph marched his family forward through the descending fog of demons this chase guardian of the virgin was not a diminutive man he was a conqueror he was flanked by the prince of the heavenly host and his angels and at the end of every valley you are in a pit and you must ascend out of it to climb out of the valley he began theirist they began their ascent out of the valley of death this was the hardest part of their journey a steep climb after days of exhausted trekking through unforgiving weather and terrain from the limbo of the fathers adam noah abraham moses and david watched as the light of the patriarchs who is saint joseph showed them the glory soon to come when christ would descend into the dead and then rise out of the shadows it is said that we save the best for last well in the litany of saint joseph the final name of our beloved saint is protector of the church but the name that becomes that comes just before this title it is the name that we must use as our banner and our crusade against modernity and all her errors the title of joseph just before protector of the church is terror of demons joseph of all creatures ever existing in god's providence is the one who garners this terrifying name the very presence of joseph spreads dread and fear into those who in their prideful and impotent state make it their goal to terrorize men for years st joseph spent hours perfecting his craft striving and sweating in his workshop like a foreshadowing of the new adam joseph worked by the sweat of his brow taming the dry flesh of the trees of the holy land in the manner that god whittles down a man transforming him from a rough plank to a man protect perfected so too did saint joseph bend and form the elements that would become the wood of the cross of his adopted son the demons are never truly absent from us even at our hour of death thus with each passing year the devils assigned by hell to tempt joseph watched him ever so closely how could a man be so humble how could he almost also demonstrate such fortitude the fortitude of a dragon slayer from the shadows they observed joseph axe down trees and prepared them for transport like a painful instance of sanctified deja vu these demons saw a flash of jesus christ as saint joseph knelt to the ground only to stand with a tree on his shoulders watching the terror of demons carry oak and olive trees was torturous for the devils as joseph lifted his hammer to pound iron each metallic clang smashed the gates of hell like the cheerful piercing of the bells of consecration it is incredible to think of the years jesus spent apprenticing his earthly father although they did not share a biological relation i imagine our lord showed many of the same mannerisms and characteristics in his way of speaking and acting if we were to watch how christ carried his cross and we knew saint joseph we might even think we were watching god himself carry that tree after his earthly father's image and likeness in this year of saint joseph let us beg heaven for joseph's aid our house is a mess and it is overrun with idols and demons at this point i can think of no better solution than to call on the foster father of our lord to come home and terrorize every devil and insight as he sends them right back to the pit of hell as i conclude here let us remember the power of saint joseph in his inner intercession and all i can say is saint joseph terror of demons please pray for us if you have liked this video please visit fatima.org and consider a donation subscribe to this youtube channel and please like this video god bless this has been the kennedy
