week we still have set aside moments for us to do worship and to receive a word from our pastor so with that being said hey not for your benefit before your family and friends benefit go ahead share like it send it in your group chat i know you have them let everybody know that we are getting ready to go forth and there is an amazing word for them let's not talk any longer come on let's go ahead and tune in i'd like to welcome you to the lighthouse where the spirit of the lord is and where the spirit of the lord is there is liberty there's love there's joy oh hallelujah for this is the day that the lord has made let us rejoice and be glad in it not tomorrow but today scripture tells us in proverbs 27 and 1 take no thought for tomorrow for you know what tomorrow may bring so this is your day hallelujah let us go before the lord in prayer most gracious and eternal father father we thank you lord for your goodness we thank you father for your mercy we thank you for your grace father your unmerited favor oh father we enter into your gates with thanksgiving and enter into your courts with praise thanking you lord god for this day lord god we thank you father god for this hour father and father i ask o lord god that your spirit descends o lord god we invite your presence so father let your spirit descend upon us oh father god father we humble ourselves that you may be exalted for you say when you be lifted up o lord god you withdraw all men unto thee father you also said lord god in your word first peter five and seven for we can cast all our care upon you because you care it for us so whatever it is that may be holding you down whatever it is that's burdened you can release it unto the lord for this is the day that our god has made and we gonna rejoice and be to my other left deep left listen let me just go back and do it we gave everybody basketball names you know what i'm i i was getting ready to greet y'all in the church way but let me show y'all what we was doing before we got here to my left is giannis antacum oh my god we got pastor wyatt aka big chuck that's charles brockley over there we got the young phenom out with zion williams uh john marant which one you gonna be i take jam a little smoother a little smoother that's that's matt and then we got here i don't know if it's rick fox because your lighting got good hair or uh what was the other one i gave you big fish fish either one either one pastor hammond from our west campus we've been having a good time today in the lord and we're going to tackle another text and it's been incumbent upon us to also realize that as we are sharing the bible with you you want to know how you can use that as a tool to activate your personal life so we're excited to do that for you today and so i presented on sunday those of y'all who were with us a couple days ago i presented a message called the little giants and it was about david and his battle against goliath and how he did not gain his strength to fight the giant in the battle against the giant he actually gained the strength as he was fighting the lion and the bear and so i'm going to ask these guys to help me to look deeper because my own mind is finite but together we get closer to infinite as we reach out to god for spiritual revelation on this text so how many of y'all uh like this story about david and goliath it's like the text right yeah i remember one time i preached it i called it the advantage of a disadvantage and i talked about how david was able to beat goliath with what he didn't have but is there any instance and i guess i want to hear from all of y'all this is like kind of interview style do you ever have a moment in your life where you felt uh like david and what you were facing felt like goliath anybody got a a giant testimony where you were facing something big and you felt little in it uh i'll say something i just say just as far as doing ministry in general yeah i think that uh coming into an uh unknown space and you know there's a lot of what you deem as you know prerequisites and requirements and and the only thing that god is really requiring at that moment is a yes but it seems like it's a it's a goliath it's a giant and so i just say coming into different arenas whether it may be work whether it may be sports where whether maybe marriage or anything like that but in ministry in my case it was something that it seemed like a goliath and it's a constant fight but that was one place where i felt like i was the david facing the goliath man you just put something in my head that god all he wants is yes you know that song god won't say yes and that's true like where would jonah be if he just said yes like look at how many people who could have uh prevented so much from what where moses may have gotten into the promised land had he just said yes so that's good and for somebody who's watching like we ain't even been here five minutes and that's like a bomb dropped that all god wants is a yes what's up what's the circumstance of my circumstance is personally my my goliath was understanding that um my past victories were was something that i i've minimized and i'll talk about that a little later but understanding for me was the fear of making the step knowing that in my personal career that i knew i was promotable but i was scared to get promoted because i didn't feel i was qualified enough back to you saying about the qualifications and it wasn't it wasn't until i understood going from a public sector job to a private sector job that really i had an advantage because during the time of my transition from public to private we had went through the recession and in government we were doing so many creative things because we didn't have resources just like we're in right now financially as a country and so when you take that to the private sector the private sector is always trying to cut costs and you're trying to reduce costs so i was able to leverage my skill set from already going through a private victory uh in a larger stage and that was that was a overcoming moment for me to realize that my past experience really helped catapult me to where i am today that's good pastor raymond um for me i think um it's it's almost every day coming into the lighthouse i'll use that as an example because i think that a lot of divorce minimize what i would say a lot of us minimize but just coming into this space and this place where it's it's like i'm in [Music] amongst different people culturally i think we um well you might not feel it but i feel it because there was a time i was like you gotta live up to this and you gotta you gotta um you gotta try to be like them but i think i have to come to a point where i said well there's a reason why i am the way i am and now i understand that the experiences are the stones that i used to fight my battles today so everything i went through as an experience where i was born my location everything me for where i am today so i'm not like we're in this space when this there's no nigerian here there's no african here and a lot of people move over to the u.s and they actually go around where nigerians are that's the i mean water would always find its level yes but for you to plug me out of there and drop me in here it was difficult initially and i was battling with a lot of insecurity but i think you made it very comfortable for me to be myself and that is a giant i had to fight and you have helped me pick my stones that's awesome thank you so much that's rich i think we've had i've had a lot of experience like that where somebody may size you up and see that you may not be able to do this or do do that but what they don't know is that god was developing you in the dark room and so every picture has to have some exposure this was god's time to expose what was being done in the dark and so the reason my resume reads so well today is because of what god has done already my recollection of the memories that he's already done in my life helps me see that i can win today i would i would say that for me personally i grew up in church my entire life so did you grow up in church your whole life matt half of it everybody else pretty much so i grew up in church my whole life but when i say church church i'm not talking about the dispensation of church that we see today so in our church uh women couldn't wear pants and if you ever you never saw a woman stand in the pulpit because she was not allowed to come up there and um women couldn't even preach women didn't have they couldn't be called our pastor said that women couldn't be called if you spoke in tongues you were you were using a gift that was outdated and if you called yourself a prophet or apostle uh you were using a gif that was dead everything was so legalistic and everything was so by the book and so when i came into a city like houston where things are a lot more open and and now in 2020 where things are kind of stretching out how many of y'all ever felt that place where your past and your future are in this argument yeah wow where you know what god put inside of you but you got the voices in your head who told you how it was supposed to be and i never will forget uh god rest his soul before my father passed away one of the biggest arguments we had was that i named the lighthouse church the lighthouse church and i didn't name it the lighthouse missionary baptist church and and um and it was it was it was a huge deal but i felt god pulling me towards a ministry that didn't mimic my past i guess my question is is do any of you all feel god pulling you towards something that doesn't look anything like where you came from like do you feel god showing you a picture of of your future and it doesn't look like your past it reminds me of a television you ever saw a television where when you turn it off it still has the outline of what was on it uh before you turn it off and you can still see it even though the picture isn't there and i think that a lot of us uh even when god is trying to change the channel we struggle to become who he really wants us to be because we still have the outline of the last picture in our mind do you all feel anything like that i i felt like that for a very long time because you know god was doing something in me but it didn't fit the environment that i was in and so what i found myself doing was conforming to the environment instead of let god do what he was trying to do yes sir i've learned to see life from david's perspective because every time it's almost like you have a giant and god is calling into something greater and bigger but i've learned i've fallen in love with david as a character in the bible david is is a voice from scriptures telling us that just because i don't look like what you have in mind doesn't mean i cannot blow your mind and every single time david blows our mind you always do that yeah and and how do you always do that can we just stop for say where does that count is there a book that we can all about it says words that rhyme stuff that has the same letters like last week you said offset reset off track up track you said something like that y'all like the raptor right yeah how do you do that how do you do that jc i i don't know actually um i don't know should be told even i don't know why we're talking about this but truth be told it took a while for me to even embrace that because i speak my my brother speaks my father speaks everybody speaks but my brother my elder brother called me and said you you have something unique we are all doctors but you have a specialty so that's it again i'm gonna skip you because even in your example you're doing it again what did i say can y'all help him because he can't understand right did you you just said we're all doctors but you have a specialty you use doctor language right to explain it yeah yeah i continue to see you you don't even know but but but i was talking about david just in case you're joining us i was talking about david and david is a voice through the true scriptures letting us know that just because we don't look like what they have in mind doesn't mean we can never blow their mind we cannot see pastor when you preached on sunday i kept thinking to my mind david killed the lions and the bears he killed all of that when there was no crowd this is the problem with our generation because you need an audience and when you are more concerned with an audience god cannot trust you with influence that is the problem and your con god cannot even trust you with influence he cannot trust you with he cannot trust you with anything because you want to kill we are killing lions now we are killing bears and there's nobody here come on this is the problem with this generation because we need we need followers on instagram on facebook to kill the lions but god is saying can i trust you to kill the lions and the bears and all of that because you cannot you cannot perfect publicly what you've not practiced privately come on so we have to ask ourselves can i keep the problem is not what happens with goliath the problem is can you this is the reason why when david eventually killed goliath and the ladies were singing david said hold a second when i killed the lions you were supposed to put that on instagram it was supposed to be a hashtag it was supposed to be trending how many of you have killed a lion here when he killed a bear nobody said nothing so you can i cannot be intoxicated by your praise because i've been in a situation where i've been drunk with god's humility yeah nobody was there when he had killed the lion and the bear and i and i was saying on sunday that you cannot expect to perform uh publicly what you haven't performed privately and god doesn't and you said it with the exposure it's the same thing with the picture because all pictures are developed in darkness when paul was able to be on the road to damascus and god changed him from murderer to preacher guess what happened in darkness uh when god creates life when when when babies are born uh they are gestated in in darkness in the womb everything is developed in darkness and i would imagine that the same is true with you guys that um that your lives have been developed in darkness whether it be the athletic route or the professional route pastor raymond i'm reminded um of one of the first encounters i had with you we were in the room back there remember when we were sitting around the table and uh to this day out of the room with all of the pastors that were there i'm probably still in communication with uh several of them even at as this day persists but i remember there was something special about you and i remember the first thing that i learned about you was your ability to honor you did not even know me we had never met right we had never shaken hands we've never had a phone conversation but you treated me that day and every day since then with the with the level of honor um that that i i rarely see david was able to get where he got in life because of his ability to honor saul no matter what saul did to him remember the time where david could have killed saul and he didn't and and when they questioned him about it he said what the bible says god told me touch not my anointing and do my prophet no harm i want to just put a lynchpin here and a hinch i want you to talk about the importance of honor well pastor you're spot on because even before that david had a mantle of honoring his father's house because even fighting the lion and the bear had he not um killed the lion in it and the in the animal would have died he would have brought this honor to himself because he was a shepherd boy that was his job yeah and so when he went to fight the goliath it wasn't that he was intimidated by goliath david was upset because goliath was mocking uh the house of israel and and he was worried about the the the indignation that was coming from that and so david was fighting for the honor of the house of the of god the house of god and what god was standing for that time so i think sometimes our honor we think honor is to ourselves and honor is to those who we serve i'm gonna put everybody on the spot what is honor that's exactly what what is honor well honor is um i'll call it simple honors reverence for for people god has placed above you but honor will send you to war because david honor is can you deliver launch when you have been called to be a king and if he had not delivered launch which was honored yes because we we read we that's the bread i mean we think about goliath and we think about all of these good things but what we don't know is that there has to be somebody jesse he was honoring that told him to go deliver lodge hold on a second i'm a shepherd i'm i don't have the skill set to be a delete no no but god says do what you you see i i don't have the ability to do it but i know if my father says i should do it then i have to do it so i'm going to keep the sheep with the ship keeper and do what my father says i should do even though he's uncomfortable that was the reason why we talk about david because he delivered lunch that's another point that i got from that text that even in obeying and honoring he went to fight or went to deliver the meal and ended up fighting goliath he left a keeper of the sheep absolutely so sometimes when we even with what god has called us to uh we have to be focused on that main one thing he was a shepherd boy and he left somebody in charge of the sheet while he went to do something else sometimes we get focused on going to do something else and we leave the main thing unattended so this is the purpose of the discussion because most people discuss the bag of stones without looking at the bag of bread yeah come on because he had to carry bread before he ever could carry stones and everybody wants to be proficient at knocking out their giant with the stone but before that you got to be able to hold the bread you got to be able to you got to be able to serve you got to be able to hold the basket matt you're you're the youngest out of all of us but but but more than anybody here you understand the precipice of servitude and and you understand that delivery system that we talk about nobody does it better so looking at that camera somebody like you is 25 and they're saying man i got time for that church stuff like that i'm trying to live my life i'm trying to get it but but you still getting it but you're doing it god's way and god is still blessing you off camera we talked about the new car that you're getting ready to restore and all of the things that god how you 26. so talk to a generation who thinks that us 40 year olds that we out of touch and we don't understand that that life is about fun so speak to your generation about how you can still be down with god and still succeed well i think even before we even get into that i think that the generation what my generation struggles with is that we think honor is synonymous with weakness i think that we think that humility is synonymous with with laying ourselves down and being weak and now we haven't got to but we understand that in our weakness god's strength is made perfect yes sir and so one of the things that that i learned early on from honor is that honor is is currency in the kingdom is that honor opens up doors yes that nothing else can open up our honor honor brings you in places i want to get you next to people i if we talk about um joshua and how joshua honored moses and that was one of the reasons why he was the recipient um to lead to lead the nation of israel so when we talk about honor what i've learned especially if i'm just serving you that's one of the first things i said i said how can i serve you right i understood that there was a there was a key that you had to unlock something in me and so i needed to honor i needed to serve i needed to get into the place to where i could serve you so i could honor you into the most but i could also get where i needed to go and now is to get to another level of servitude but also get to another level of power can i tell you why can i tell you why because that's not that's not a natural occurrence it's not a natural currency often in church we talk about this david saul relationship do you know why i was able to be a samuel for you is because i experienced a song before you so what makes me a good father is because i was misused as a son yeah and a lot of times this is good we allow what happened to us to make us bitter yes when god actually intended to make it better it was david that said it was good that i was afflicted that's right that i might learn the statues of god let me tell you what you probably don't know experientially but just know through my conversation like you came to me i came to houston and i went to a man of god just like you came to me and i wanted to know how i could serve that man of god just like you asked me what drew me to you is you asked me the same question i asked him the language was synonymous and and the truth is we're all connected by language we're connected by language his response was the same the problem was as god started to elevate our ministry and there are people in this room who can attest to this this is exactly how it happened i was put on to start at eight o'clock service in the morning for this church and the pastor gave us 75 people as a seed to start this this service so we have 75 people within eight months a service had grown from 75 young adults to a thousand when it reached a thousand the pastor came to me and said now i'm going to take over the service that you preach and he put me in his service which had atrophied and went down to nothing but guess what i did i kept preaching and guess what happened the service that i went to grew and then that service began to dwindle i never will forget it it was on a sunday morning tanya was there the pastor stands up and he says to me he said this is the last sunday that keon henderson will be here at this church fire me on the spot publicly on the sunday and when i asked him about it he told me he said they not gonna be calling you pastor i'm the pastor they're not going to be calling you the leader i'm the leader and he fired me on a sunday morning and a man who's still a member of this church today stood up in the back of the church and addressed a full congregation and said pastor you told us that he was our next pastor did god lie or did you lie and he told him sit down i didn't ask you to bring him out and god asked you to get rid of him this happened to me on sunday morning in front of the entire church but guess what had it never happened we wouldn't be sitting here today you never know when you're facing goliath that god has judah inside of him yeah you never know when you're facing goliath that the appointment of israel is inside of that and i'm saying to somebody right now who doesn't understand why you're going through what you're going through you're going through what you're going through because a sovereign has a sovereign god has something else he wants to take you to and if you can't survive the lion if you can't survive the bear don't ask him for goliath and if you cannot defeat goliath don't look for the crown at judah and israel and here's the other thing when we were in this church this is this is documented come on we were in buildings and schools that were kicking us out and didn't want us in and not renewing the contracts i had no idea i thought that was israel didn't know it was judah remember david was king of judah for seven years before he was ever put over israel and see here's what god told me he said i can never put you over a thing until you can perform under a thing our generation our generation we always want to be over we always want to be over but how can you be faithful to what god gives you the scripture says you have to be faithful to another man's field yeah before god puts you over your own you never rise to the occasion you always sink to the level of your training and your experiences so i don't need to puff myself up i don't need to get bigger what i need to do is i need to sink because a lot of times you say oh that was a long time but the bible says he's the same yesterday he's the same today and he's forever we're getting ready to give and i want you to understand that giving is not a debt that you owe it's just a seed that you sow god is so good that even in a pandemic we are still abounding in his grace i want you to consider being generous we're getting ready to put some stuff at the bottom of the screen that will tell you exactly how to do it you can give on our website you can give on our app and for those of you all who are members of our lighthouse 2.0 you can give through give the fire so listen i want you to give as god has blessed you we're going to continue to do the mission work of the lord but i got to get back to this word stay tuned and i'll greet you at the end i would argue this and i want to get your opinion that even though the discussion about david and goliath is is david's biggest event really we all know him for this i argue that even though we give this story the most celebration it is not uh the most consequential david fighting goliath is not the most consequential thing of his life he fought a lion and a bear i don't know about you i don't know about you i have no fear of fighting any man i mean maybe tyson or somebody like that i mean i mean just regular people like i i don't walk down the street and see somebody and be like oh man i would never because i think like this i think different ways like okay if i can't beat him with my hands y'all might not do this i start thinking stuff i can grab right because it's going to be fair no matter what i mean we got it was some kind of way i got to win you know i remember my father used to say when you get old you don't you don't fight young people you cut them and let them bleed until they get weak and then you fight them whatever i'm doing away i'm gonna win you got to win i don't look at any man and and have fear of fighting them but let me tell you something if a lion coming here right now i'm not going to have the strength of adam to subdue him and say lion sid in the name of jesus i'm going to probably be as afraid as anybody else see we would fear a lion and a bear much more than we would a man so by the time he gets to goliath you're not afraid of goliath because look at what he has already look what he's already fought look at what he's already been through is it any way you guys could help the audience to understand that it is not our big moments that deserve the celebration it is the little battles that we have prior to that big celebration that really shapes and molds who we are i i think pastor that maybe the reason why god is not doing anything new is because um you have not used what he gave you in the past this is what i mean because there is no old testament there is no old miracle there jesus died over 2 000 years ago and whenever we talk about something there is no old death yeah and maybe you qualify our credentials for the future is when we can recognize what has happened in the past that's amazing and that's what recycling is all about can you recycle you talked about recycled power and on sunday and i think about and i'm like god i don't want to we over we overcame by the words of the blood of lamb and by the words of our testimony and i just want to sit on that and let someone know oh if god did it in 1984 yeah he can do it in 2020 because a lot of times he said oh that was a long time but the bible says he's the same yesterday he's the same today and he's forever if he helps you kill the lion and the beer and he can help you kill whatever you're going through now so if i can get over depression i can get over debt absolutely if i can if i can get over cancer i can come through rejection because the same greater is he where that's in me but you know why i think people doubt because they have saul's in their lives yeah saul told david he couldn't win has any of you all has anybody ever told you you couldn't yeah that you wouldn't yeah right so saul told david he couldn't so now he's got somebody in his life who is afraid of goliath right and he's allowed his doubt to become his voice right and and now david has a decision do i allow what you spoke over me to determine my outcome or do i let what god spoke in me at the same time pastor not only saul's voice but goliath's voice because he's heroin and that's one of the first things of war is to demoralize your opponent and we can't allow um people that demoralize demoralize us try to demote us because david had already got his credentials that you preached about back with the lion and the bear the other thing that that stuck out to me was i say this that david grabbed the lion the bear specifically it said by the beard it choked it and so a lot of times i thought about how when we are faced with opposition uh the easiest thing to do is to stoop down to somebody's level of how they're fighting us when in reality we need to pull the opposition down down to the level of our last victory because at the level of our last victory is the testimony of how had not been had it not been for the lord who was on my side yeah i don't know where i would be well let's think about it sir is it possible that goliath believed that he was going to kill david absolutely absolutely this this is this is just for conversation because if i know i can kill you why do i have to spend 40 days saying i'm going to kill you he was trying to talk himself into it i i didn't know because because if i if i know i can kill you and i know what comes with killing you on the reward maybe i should have killed you before david showed up and maybe your problem is that we keep being scared of things that can only bark they can bite so the bible says that the devil is a roaring lion yes right i'll tell you why because if a person keeps talking you can't talk right and he knew he was the silent he wants to silence your voice by over utilizing his come on i remember this i told this story before i was in south africa uh cape town one of the most beautiful places on earth i'm in cape town we're on a boat and we're going to the island where nelson mandela was imprisoned and the water i mean guys it's so rocky the boat is swaying back and forth everybody on the boat is feeling sick i mean it's just going back and forth and when we finally get to the island everybody's so happy to get off the boat everybody gets off and so we're walking around and right when you get off these jacket rocks are there and there's this huge tank like a a gun that's that's pointed right at you when you're coming up on uh the uh the land and so i asked the question i said what is what is that a gun for and i mean big i'm talking about the size of maybe the uh the sound booth there just huge and so i asked him what the gun was for he said well back in the day that island used to be a fort and when people would try to invade that's why they made the rock jacket so that you couldn't invade with the boat and they put the gun there so that if any ship tried to invade they could shoot it down he says but here's the beauty of it whenever we would shoot the gun we had to train everybody on the island with an alarm system they set the alarm system off when they set the alarm system off everybody on the island knows to do this that's what they train everybody to do when they when they sound the alarm the allow the alarm is meant to make you to open your mouth i asked them why in the world would you do that he says because the sound of the gun is so loud that if we shoot it and your mouth is closed your eardrums will burst oh wow so they open their mouth it it secures the eardrum so that when they shoot it the eardrum see the devil knows come on that if your mouth is closed he can affect your ears come on so the reason why the enemy keeps on talking is because you never get a chance to open your mouth and so now the only thing that's working is your ears and so you keep hearing what they're saying and what they say you're not and the reason why goliath kept talking is because he knows that if david's mouth is closed then his ears are open but if his mouth is open his ears are closed and i tell somebody right now that no matter what the devil is saying you you gotta open up your mouth you gotta talk matter of fact overtalk him if he shouts you shout louder and if you don't if you need an example go ask bartimaeus what happened bartimaeus was sitting by the wayside and they were telling him what he should not do and what he cannot do and what does the scripture says he just he got a lot son of david have mercy on me they said shut up what'd he do open his mouth son of david see you got to outshout the devil right right you got to out scream them you got to out talk them and so to answer your question the reason why goliath kept talking is because david would have listened and i'm telling you right now that's why we're here right now we're telling the devil we're not going to be silent i'm not going we're not going to be citing we're going to keep praising we're going to keep teaching we're going to keep pursuing the things of the cross we're going to make sure that we let the people of god know no matter where you are that you can overcome by by your testimony in the blood of the lamb so you got to be quiet no you got to be louder louder you got to be loud if you look like you're losing time come on we never heard anything about saul saying anything to goliath until david showed up right because he was afraid of goliath watch this he didn't think he could win and the bible says that saul was head and shoulders above everybody else they was a little shepherd boy so guess what saul thought if i can't do it he can't look at me look at him so if i can't beat him then he can't that's why i said yeah there's a little giant inside of you come on there's a little giant inside of you and that the thing outside of you cannot compare to the thing that's inside of you greater is he that is in me not on me but greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world when when when the whale swallowed when the fish swallowed jonah the fish was bigger than jonah but he couldn't hold him come on because his prayer life was bigger than the stomach of the well his prayer life his praise life was bigger than the thing that's holding them if you can access what's inside of you it can get you out of anything no matter what the size is come on the the voices of israel were small but when they were collectivized they could shout down tall walls why because it doesn't matter what is holding you back what is holding you down if you could shout if you could get it out of your mouth if you could worship if you could praise if you recognize what you have inside of you there's nothing that is holding you that you cannot become free from a life of poverty cannot restrict a man who has a dream come on a man who is sick i was reading an article right now alex trebek uh i think the the the guy that's the game show host i was reading uh an article and he has pancreatic cancer and he's in the in the fourth stage and i'm reading the article of him today and on the headline he says love kept me alive wow if you could find out something inside of you yeah if you could reach and find something inside of you do you know that people who have pancreatic cancer are supposed to be dead in four to six months and only five percent of them live longer than that yeah but if you could if you could go find a little a little a little something the bible says that a little leaven that leaven is the whole loaf just a little yeast makes a big old loaf rise if you can just find your little thing something you can recycle if you can something you can recycle and so i give the example of of goliath being in front of a man that he didn't know had recycled power he didn't know that he had bear power in him he didn't know that he had lying power in him he didn't know that he had private power in him and so it's easier to develop and defeat a thing in front of your face if you have spent some time on your face come on absolutely you can handle the thing in front of you if you can deal with the thing inside of you goliath didn't scare david not because of his size because of his experience with god and what i love about david's response to this and i feel the holy ghost he didn't say i'm getting ready to fight you because of what you said to me i'm getting ready to fight you because you came up against the armies of the lord all right come on when we get to the place where we start fighting for god yes and not for ourselves then no weapon right formed against us shall be able to prosper and every tongue that comes up against us shall be condemned so i tell you this david had a lot up against him yeah because saul didn't give him credit can i tell you something young brother young sister can you please stop looking for other people to give you credit yeah i don't i don't know how to say that enough and i i feel the anointing i need to release it so y'all can jump in but but can you stop weeping because they didn't tell you thank you can you stop contemplating suicide because you feel like somebody didn't appreciate you david has an antidote for that feeling no his daddy did not pick him and yes samuel overlooked him and yes saul degraded him and yes yes goliath hurled inside uh insults at him but guess how david survived it all he encouraged himself yes in the lord wow the woman with the issue of blood they told jesus don't let her touch you she's ceremonially unclean yeah this woman is not supposed to touch a rabbi they created a barrier around jesus to make sure she couldn't even get to him yeah but guess how she got there nobody told her go on and see him he'll see you nobody invited her into the circle the scripture says for she said to herself if i could just touch the hem of his garment i'll be made whole i know they tell you you look crazy when you do this but you need to learn to talk to yourself you need to learn to talk to yourself you need to say i am more than a conqueror you need to learn to say i can overcome this you need to say i can do this you need to learn to talk to yourself you got to let that little giant inside of you begin to speak up i feel like i'm taking over it and i feel like i need to release it i just i just feel like there's a flow going because somebody's watching and they're saying pastor i don't feel big right i don't feel big i don't feel like a giant right what can i do i don't have money right i don't have influence i don't have a church like you i don't have a family like rhema i don't know the bible like wyatt i i i'm not still as young as matt and and i don't work for a company like you have what do i do what do i do when i'm facing my giants i don't have i don't have what you have what they don't understand is they're looking at what you have on you and we're not telling them to use what's on them right we're telling them the users in them yes within them yeah and i think that's one of the things that we so often overlook is the value of our experiences and i remember i heard a quote one time is that you never rise to the occasion you always sink to the level of your training and your experiences and so the thing is is that david didn't forget everything that he went through and so often we devalue our entire past our childhood everything that we went through whether it be trauma whether it be small minuscule situations to us things that were every day in the life of being a shepherd it wasn't overlooked and when he came to the grand stage see that what most people get confused is that the bright lights they don't make you shine they just expose what you didn't do in the direction yeah yeah they exposed the time that you didn't prepare in the darkness they exposed all these things and they're a lot hotter than people thinking so when he got to the grand stage people were looking like hey this is going to be a big deal but for him he wasn't even thinking of goliath as a big tall obstacle it's no this is everything that i experienced when i was 14 when i experienced when i was 12 i remember what happened when i was nine and so it wasn't the actual obstacle that he was worried about he said no i've trained for this so i don't need to puff myself up i don't need to get bigger what i need to do is i need to sink i need to sink into what i've been through i need to sink into my experiences and so that's what i want to encourage people to do is to sink into what it is they've been through sync into what is they've experienced and sink into what is they've overcame and we have to add more value to what it is that we went through yes because that's what's going to defeat the job i think pastor for me it's is looking at david's life and in the scripture we see in david's older life we see some of his failures some of his shortcomings we don't see that in his earlier life but if i were to be myself i made some of the worst decisions i did as a young person we don't see that in the text and so a lot of people you need to understand that that your past failures should not dictate your future and and i i saw this and said write your failures in the dust but write your victories on a stone because that stone is going to be something that's going to be there tangible and i talk about recycling our company we're in death care and uh there's things now when people are cremated uh you know it's dust it's left to dust but but there's a product that we have now that we can take dust and go through a process and create it into a glass and i thought about that you know we say our earthly vessels are going to perish away but even in a landfill see we talk recycle you recycle what is recyclable and you throw away what's trash but even trash that goes in a landfill it's pressed down and over time after it's pressed down it creates pressure and that pressure creates what's called methane gas methane gas is extracted and used for power so sometimes the trash in our lives god says i can use it for your glory for power to come out of this thing that's incredible sir i i man you were a preacher man all kind of stuff went off in my head i'm resisting the temptation to say something right now it's crazy um while you were speaking um i i there's a text that just came into my mind and i said it under my breath and pastor overhead it and you're like that was good because a lot of times we we forget and the bible says while you're blessing the lord forget not his benefits a lot of people are very good at blessing but they are very good at also forgetting um i think in order to go global you have to be vocal i like david because he's vocal he wrote the i mean he writes books and he i mean he he knew how to talk and i've always said like paul and silas if you have a voice you have a choice could it be possible think think for a second could it be possible that david's advantage was that people did not know what he's done before a lot of times we call powerful anybody we call powerful today we know what they've done any president any any athlete anybody we know what they've done and and and that is good but is the real power the fact that you don't know what i've done come on and that's just my thought and i want to talk to somebody that your power is not when people know what you've been through your power is when god knows what you've been through so i want to talk to you and i want to encourage you that you're powerful regardless of whether people know you whether you have one follow on instagram whether you've you are actually on instagram at all it doesn't matter where you are i want to let you know your power is not that people know what you've been through is the fact that you and god you know what you've been through and now that's how you can bless him and forget all his benefits come on uh recycling is never pretty uh generally the items are discarded yeah and pastor i remember you said don't waste your pain you preach the sermon don't waste your pain now god uses everything in our life even the bad experiences that we are presently going through right now that's making us think negatively of ourselves god is using that right now so that's like time in the training room you got to understand this is just conditioning right now that god is getting you ready for he's about to do something great in your life you probably can't see it now but don't waste the pain guess what if god won't waste your tear what make you think he'll waste your pain yeah he's going to use it he's going to recycle it and when it when it comes to pass you're going to be the giant that god wants you to become all you got to do is just stay in the weight room keep on training keep on trusting and believe god for the very best and he's going to do something in your life i guarantee it and you just said that you're in something yeah so we're all going through something yeah everybody's going through something everybody's going through something whether it's depression or everybody's going our country is going through something yes so whatever you're going through i want you to imagine that what you're going through is this container okay and we always give all of the attention to what we're going through i'm going through a divorce i'm going through bankruptcy i'm going through this and so we give all of the attention to the container but i'm reminded that just a couple days ago i was at a grocery store and i saw a young man with several bags full of cans and i read a sign and he probably was homeless and it said five cents for every can now i know that whenever whoever purchased what they drank out of the can they paid way more than five cents right right they probably paid two dollars for it maybe 250 which means that the thing it was in was value-less the the most valuable thing about it was what was in it and once it was emptied it was only worth the nickel now it's going to be recycled they're going to fill it up again and that same can is worth again it's again worth 250. see what i'm trying to tell you oh wow is the value it's not this yes the value isn't what you're in stop giving all of the credit to what you're going through the value is you yes the contents the things that god has blessed the thing that god has saved the thing that god has redeemed yes when this old earthly tabernacle shall dissolve we've got another building not made by hand eternal in the heavens so that lets me know that i'm not the house that i'm not the skin that i am not the circumstance i am not the failure i am not the the fracture i am not the fragment what i am is i'm the handiwork of god what i am is i am a substance important enough for god to create providence for i am so important you are so important that jesus would leave the side of his father put himself in the womb of a virgin as scripture says travels through 42 generations and puts himself in the womb of a virgin born without the benefit of sexual activity to ensure that no man can say they made him and was astute enough that while he was 100 man never stopped being 100 god after recycle sir maintaining the world that's the recycle while creating life come on come on and he did that for the substance in the container and not the container itself if god can if he cared about the container he wouldn't have destroyed it by what come on if he can if he cared about the container he wouldn't destroy it again by fire god's concerned about the contents yes the person that he came yeah he he he reached down in the ground and created the contents can i tell you how important you are to god and i'm gonna pray for you when god wanted light he said let there be and there was yes when god wanted water he said let there be and it was when he wanted firmament and fish and fowl he said let there be and all of a sudden eagle started flapping and fish started to swim but on the sixth day when he created man he didn't speak he kneeled into the dirt come on and picked up the dirt and spit in it and he formed us yes because you are so important to god that you are the only thing in the earth he's ever touched put his hands on him he's never touched the water when he came back the bible says he walked on it he wouldn't even go in it when he wanted the sun he spoke it when he wanted the moon he spoke it but you you weren't too important for a conversation you were worth an investment the god who sits on the world kneeled down in the earth to fashion you with his hands and then said i'm going to create you in my image and after my likeness and then he spoke and said to the entire trinity when he created everything else he spoke as an individual when he created you he said let us make man he invited company when it came to you and i mm-hmm that's how important you are amen so don't you worry about no lion don't you worry about no bears don't you worry about a giant don't you worry about defeat don't you worry about despair god loves you so much that he has put his fingerprint on you and he has stamped you with his precious blood and i'm telling you there is a little giant inside of you that's getting ready to do big big big things so you 26 year old yeah i know you've got the energy but god is wanting you to get wisdom and you 62 year old i know you don't have the energy well god's about to use your wisdom whatever side of the spectrum you're on you have exactly what god needs you to have for such a time as this god in the name of jesus i pray for my brother and my sister who is facing a goliath at this moment who has a giant facing them down but god i ask that you would allow that giant to tremble yes yes when he finds out that deep inside of the thing that that giant is attacking yes god it's the spirit of the living god holy ghost have your way yes that no weapon formed against us shall prosper and every lion tongue that rises up against us shall be condemned god give us the ability to say like david we're not afraid of what we're facing because just like the thing that we've gone through he said just like the lion and the bear the god that i serve is going to protect me from this uncircumcised philistine and i pray that you will give my brothers and sisters the same courage that they can speak to their future and tell their future you will bow to me just like my past in the mighty name of jesus we pray hallelujah and amen amen thank you so much for being with us on this tackle the text and you know what as the spirit of god is moving i'm not going to break and come back to you later i'm going to pray right now that you would accept jesus christ as your lord and savior i pray that what we are doing is a lamp to your feet and a light to your path we are here today only but for his grace we're not here today because we're superhuman we're not here today because we've got super strength we're not here today because we're super christians we're here fighting our giants today because what you didn't see is our fight with our lions and our bears till the next time i'm pastor k these are my homies we love you god bless you that worship and that word was incredible it is my hope and my heart's desire that it blessed you how it blessed me if you didn't get a chance to sow into the ministry during the experience take a moment and do that now we want to continue to support you our friends and our family but we also want to continue to do a mighty work in our community so go ahead think about it and sow that seed so that we continue to build the kingdom of god here on earth i want to talk to you about something hey maybe in the service something happened you felt something rising up in you that something was the power of the holy ghost and if you feel enlightened and you feel empowered to say hey what must i do to be saved what can i do to be a part of that body of christ we encourage you right now dig deep into that spirit dig deep into that voice that you hear that's the holy spirit telling you to make that move it's time for us to get right and we want you to not only be saved but we want you to be a part of a community who's going to support you on this journey we encourage you go ahead we have folks already waiting for you they are there with virtual open arms saying come come we've been expecting you it's not just a model we live by that go ahead and do it it's the right move for you let us go ahead and end with prayer most holy and righteous god we thank you we thank you for your love and your grace that has led us this far even in the midst of everything that's going on god we thank you that it is your love and your grace that's going to continue to see us through that you're going to continue to provide us with strength and not just regular strengths but great strength that is going to equip us to continue to move forward at times such as these god we ask a special blessing on everybody who is watching right now that they continue to be encouraged in their walk that they continue to fight every attack that the enemy is throwing their way we pray for our leaders we pray for our country and we pray for everybody who has been impacted by this pandemic that you are encouraged that there shall be and there will be glory after this it is in jesus name we pray amen love y'all and cannot wait to see you next time be blessed
