don't want to miss a glimpse you know there's a there's an interesting story in the book of luke where this this short guy named zacchaeus wanted to see jesus he was short and the scripture says there was a crowd in his way his height he couldn't control got any things in your life you can't control the crowd was too big for him to manage or control got anything too big for you to manage or control but what he could do the scripture says is that he ran ahead and he climbed a tree i know you hear early this morning what have you had to run ahead of today and is there anybody that's been willing to climb some trees there's a hunger inside of zacchaeus that says if he's here i want to see him if he's here i want to see him do you believe jesus is here come on do you believe jesus is here but what are you going to do to see him we're going to keep our eyes on you we're going to keep our hearts steadfast we don't want to miss a glimpse of you father we thank you for what you're doing in this place right now we thank you for what you're doing in this moment right now cause we don't wanna miss a glimpse of you oh say we don't wanna miss a glimpse of whoa say come on i don't wanna miss a glimpse of oh come on daniel i don't wanna miss a glimpse of just sing it one more time [Music] we don't want to just come to church [Music] why don't you lift your hands lift your hearts right here just say jesus show me your glory lord we know you're in this place we know you're moving but i'm asking we're asking that in a very personal way as your sons and daughters have come into this moment and they may have had to run ahead and they may have had to climb some trees just to get through those doors we don't know what anybody had to face to get in this room but now that they are here in the name of jesus we are declaring healing over lives and homes and hearts come on come on trinity come on let's go after it in the name of jesus we are declaring that the bound are set free and in the name of jesus we are declaring that we will not miss a single glimpse of our savior oh jesus we want to behold you jesus we love you jesus we adore you we don't want to miss one single glimpse of set apart for your next breakthrough because when you get to know god in a way that you didn't know him before you don't get that on the mountain you get that in the valley you get that when people overlook you you get that when people think that you're insignificant but it's in the valley that god says you're about to keep the well guys one of the one of the great joys that that i have is the privilege of introducing you to people who have who are changing my life joshua giles is one of the most amazing prophets and presenters of the gospel i'm so excited about introducing him to you next week uh what a tremendous speaker he is and i'm excited about introducing this family to you a lot of you may already know the manigaults but we've not officially introduced hi i'm jim this is uh many more of you will know the donovan's the donovan family but uh come on kyle you guys are um oh he's gonna stay there okay good you guys uh these guys are overseeing the frisco campus right now there's a new policy where we bring in the campus pastors to be here with us and today beck is preaching in frisco sort of an exchange thing but uh we're so thankful for you guys jeremy also you have a microphone yeah jeremy also oversees helps to oversee the fair meadows campus and the fair park campus so just give us a brief update on what god is doing on the campuses it's just been an honor honestly to go out for you guys and expand the kingdom and i just want to thank this campus for really supporting what we do 2021 has been a year of expansion we've actually launched three campuses in the beginning of the year um i would encourage you two of them are at night uh fair park which is in the fair park area obviously and then bishop arts uh and god is just moving at both of those campuses in just phenomenal ways they're just special i just you know it's it's fun to go to the different campuses and feel the same spirit of god in the same dna you know you're walking into trinity and we're expanding the kingdom and it's because of you guys so thank you thank you for supporting us so good annie tell us how glad you are to be here this morning i'm actually very glad to be here i miss cedar hill i love our campuses but i miss being home yeah we're glad you're here today she actually asked if she could come three weeks out of the month here oh she did she wants to come here of instead of the instead of the mission field huh that's okay stretch your hands towards these guys would you please father it's not something that we set out a blueprint and said maybe we should have campuses something that you sovereignly decreed over our house and um we're still learning what that looks like what that is but we're so thankful for jeremy and annie and all the leadership teams who are saying we believe that we believe that there's a revival for the whole metroplex yes we believe there's a harvest to be gathered that cannot be gathered if we stay in the confines of southwest dallas county so lord we just release favor and blessing over these campuses over pastor jeremy and annie we just pray god that your your wisdom would be released over their lives um tenacity anointing got everything they need to uh to build these great churches we pray in jesus name and everybody said amen amen it's so exciting i i shared with the with the early morning group prayer this week it's kind of a typical week but by the same token like today becca's in frisco tim is in laredo laura is in louisiana willing to haveler or somewhere i don't know pastor danny and the youth guys were worshiping leading services this week somewhere jeremy spoke friday night at another church i just like um i know i'm missing people tommy and miriam were on sid roth's um television show this week just like so many so many so much influence that you guys are uh really releasing over you know over the area over the nation really and i'm so thankful how many of you believe deep in your heart god wants you to prosper all right there's a little bit of momentum there um can i just ask you a personal question why do you why do you think that why do you think god wants you to prosper you're like well he likes me of course he likes you he wants to you know he wants you to he wants me to be happy i don't know if he wants you to be happy he wants to be holy i know that but uh one one of the reasons that god wants us to prosper is so that we can extend who he is um in in very tangible and practical ways i i heard a teaching this week that kind of kind of wrecked me it was so weird it was built around it was a prophet who came spoke to our spoke to our staff and he built this teaching around a prophetic word over our lives as a church revival restoration and um reformation those three words well i i got home and i don't even know patricia king beck knows her but she sent a 15 15-minute prophecy built around those three words revival reformation restoration and um i'm just i wish i'm pretty excited this morning y'all i'm pretty excited i think god is really doing something magnificent among us and one of the reasons he wants you to prosper is because there's so much more to do one of the reasons he wants you to prosper is because prodigals are coming home listen i don't know i i i don't want to build a theology around this but when the theo when the prodigal came home he received a ring a robe and a fat cow how many of you know the father had to have some prosperity to to really welcome the prodigal home and i believe come on somebody believe it with me that we are in the season when prodigals are coming home and we need to be able to have the equipment to welcome them home in a power of restoration we're not just going to welcome them home and put them in a closet we're going to welcome them home and establish them as sons and daughters of the house that takes robes and rings and barbecues i mean for real robert that sounds like a good sermon title ashland robes and rings and barbecue so that's why that's why god wants us to prosper so we can restore and revive and and reform the areas that are around us do you want to prosper yeah i'm just going to i want to be candid with you we need some new seed planted today we need some seed planted the harvest has come phase one we believe phase two we need some seed new seed planted today and so if you're in a position to do that please i we we really need and i don't even want to tell you the number i need but it's in the hundred thousand dollar mark we really need about a hundred thousand dollars right now to capture the next vision that is in front of us and um i know it would help you if i told you what it is but i can't yet i could tell you but then they'd have to shoot me because i'm not allowed to tell you yet but i need a hundred thousand dollar seed offering today anybody believe we could do that yeah father i just want to thank you i want to thank you for this great church i want to thank you for the great decrees and destiny that you've released over this house thank you for the harvest the fruit thank you for the testimonies i'm especially thankful today for the one young lady who for years has battled neurosis and mental disorder the prophet said in i think it was 45 days you're going to be healed on the 45th day she was healed i thank you lord that she's at peace today she's testifying of the goodness of the lord father we want to handle holy things we want to be your church in the earth we want to see your glory and share your glory and so lord we know that this is a practical dimension by which by which we're able just to welcome the prodigals home so lord bless the giving now i pray god i ask you come and ask with me i asked for seed today for the harv come on church just say it out loud god give us seed give us seed come on family we need some seed we need some seed now to grow the next level of harvest so bless our giving we pray in the name of that really loves jesus today i uh let me see what time i have i got time just to visit with you for a minute i think so um i i've really been studying revivals because i want to know if we're in one a lot of people say we are and i've struggled with the word so much that i'm i'm hesitant to say we are i don't know if we are i know that one of the characteristics of revival is when established believers awaken with new spiritual hunger and dynamic i mean one of the things is that people who are unsaved get saved but another thing is that sleepy christians wake up not good not going to tell you which one of you i think is sleeping right now but i just wish i just cry out for a new level of hunger among the body of christ the the body of christ that's familiar with the presence and the visitations of the holy spirit that we would cry out and say god this is not this is not enough i want more of your presence and more of your glory the sleepy christians would wake up amen katie i feel like i'm forgetting something did i forget anything we're good thank you all right we're going to talk for just a few god wake us up wake us up take us to a new place take us to a new level in the name of jesus amen i want to continue the message today about family revival today i just want to talk to you about entering the deep love for your family entering deep love for your family and for those of you who are joining us all of our messages are built out of a prayer that paul prayed for his family in ephesians chapter 3. so if you put the prayer on the screen we'll read it together for this reason i bow my knees to the father of our lord jesus christ from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named your family has a name it has to do with your destiny i learned this week that my name hennessy means one strength one strength i'm just gonna be strong okay i'll be who i'm supposed to be you be who you're supposed to be that he would grant you according to the riches of his glory to be strengthened with might through his spirit in the inner man strengthened with might through his spirit in the inner man and that christ would dwell in your hearts through say it that christ would dwell in your hearts through faith that you would be rooted and grounded in that you may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and the length and the depth and the height to know the love of christ which passes knowledge that you may be filled with all the fullness no empty hearts we're all filled with the fullness of god now to him he was able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us to him be in the church to him be glory in the church by christ jesus to all generations forever and ever amen amen also i'd like to read today we're going to have a lot of bible today but i'd like to read ephesians chapter 2 verse 19-22 just in front of the prayer comes these words ephesians 2 verses 19-22 consequently you are no longer foreigners and strangers you are fellow citizens with god's people you are members of his house your members of his family members of his household you are built on the foundation of apostles and prophets with christ jesus himself as the chief cornerstone in him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the lord and in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which god lives by his by his spirit this dear friends is god's word god's word you may be seated so there are five things that we're that we're asking for five things that we're believing for in this season of family revival we're asking that our family destinies would be discovered there's a reason you're here there's a purpose secondly we're asking for a culture of honor to invade our family because there's no place for shame we're not going to tolerate shame when we know about the blood of jesus all right number three we believe that this is a season of restoration god is bringing back things that have been lost not replacing but taking us back to a place that is higher and better and beyond where we were when we lost what we lost finally we believe no fourthly we believe that prodigals are coming home just say it right now come home say it come home chronicles are coming home and finally we're believing that the church is is going to begin to behave like a family we're going to be sons and daughters and fathers and mothers and brothers and sisters but but the question is what gives us the right to expect this what why should we anticipate that this would actually happen for us you say well we we fasted for 21 days and god always honors the fast or well we gave food to hungry people during covid and maybe that will that will do it well those are those are reasons for sure but i just want to tell you there's a much more there's a much more sure reason for us to believe that the things we're asking for are gonna are going to come to pass i am i had knee surgery exactly a year ago this week and it was on my left knee and i immediately had buyer's remorse anybody had knee surgery and buyer's remorse like the next day it was crazy because they found so much more wrong with my knee than they had told me about i thought it was going to be like a two-week recovery and literally for almost a solid year my knee hurt so bad but about four weeks ago my trainer you guys need to meet demarcus he's amazing my trainer told me that what i should do is start rolling do you guys know those like you get a foam roller or one of those i should start rolling not just my knee i've been doing that for sure i've been doing that don't just roll your knee roll your what is this right here on the side roll come on troy help me out your i.t roll your it band and then roll your glutes which is kind of interesting when you're trying to do that you know roll your glutes roll your eyes and then he said then he said and not only do it on your left side do it on your right side i'm like what are you talking about it's my left knee that's hurting me no he says roll your right i.t roll your right glutes roll your right knees and and i said how does that even make a difference to do the right when it's really my left that hurts and he says don't you understand your body is joined together so intricately that what happens on one side affects what happens on the other side now the question is what exactly is going on at trinity church my mom says it's a fresh wind i do believe it's a fresh win but as we talked about uh at dinner one night this week the last 18 months have just been ridiculous uh three campuses i can't go through everything god god is sending us do you guys know that reggie dabs is moving here like week after next i don't know if you know him like the guy who's led more people to jesus in america than anybody else since term since uh since billy graham passed away i mean the guy's an amazing evangelist sherman dumas we've met this year the manigaults have come cindy jacobs god is bringing to us from around the nation worshipers and intercessors and reformers and all you he's brought you here he's brought you here and he's bringing together a group of people who are designed to carry spiritual substance i don't know i'm excited about it but and it's so that listen to me it's so that we can join our lives together this is a season where god is giving us joints not not joints like i just thought of i got too much background um his joy our joints are coming together and and what the bible is clear about in ephesians is that the way we join to one another determines the level of glory that we get to steward in the church come on somebody corporate anointing that's different than individual anointing this revival is about corporate anointing corporate anointing requires us being joined together now those of you who have been around you know that covenant relationships are deeply embedded in our story for the first six years in the hennessy era at trinity church it was triage it was just survival after about six years seven years we began to see the potential god awakened us and said this could be a great church and that's when i became so intimidated my insecurities like i've never led a great church before i don't know how to do that and the lord gave me a download of the core values the ones that are out at legacy park the ones that are on the stones there you know he said if you will just focus on substance the presence of god amen testimony of jesus if you'll just focus on covenant relationships now i'll get to that if you'll focus on legacy if you'll focus on marketplace i will i will bring to pass the purpose for for trinity church and and so those are our core values but covenant relationships are are they are so strategic now even though that utterance from the holy spirit was about 10 years ago 11 years ago right now is the time for us to awaken to the necessity and the reality and the privilege of covenant covenant relationships covenant relationship is the term that we're using to describe how god relates to us and how we are are to relate to one another one day this the story is in genesis chapter 12 one day god interrupted abram's life abram thought that his life was just a nice little life in the earth chaldeas i'm i'm going to get a little farm i'm going to make a garden i'm going to build a little house in the earth chaldees but god disturbed his little life and he said no i've got something bigger for you abram i i am choosing you today i'm choosing you i've chosen you just say that word because it's an important word chosen i'm chosen i've chosen you and through you in you all the families of the earth are going to be blessed and and i'm going to give you what you need for that to happen i've given you this promise you can expect a land that will be your land and you can respect you can expect children you're going to have children and that was a great promise but years began to pass 25 years actually and while god and abraham abram were getting along great they were getting along fine there was no pregnancy and there was there was no promised land so the promise of genesis chapter 12 just it took it took a while and by the time we get to genesis chapter 15 this is a very intriguing moment in scripture i love this passage in genesis chapter 15 god is just hanging out with abram like they did and he he said to abraham you don't need to be afraid of anything i'm your shield i'm your great reward and abram obviously this has been on his mind because he's like okay okay i'm glad for all that but god i don't have a baby i i'm childless and you promised and it's been 25 years and god i love that god didn't get ticked off at abram how many years are thankful when god doesn't get kicked off at you when you when you question him he didn't get kicked out he took abram outside the tent he says look up of the stars and there were so many stars he says this is your legacy these are your babies this is how many you can have more than the stars that you are looking at right now and the bible says very this is intriguing he said the bible says abraham believed but he asked a question he believed but he said how can i be sure he believed but he needed a little bit more how how has anybody ever asked that question before how can i be sure that my family's going to be healed how can i be sure i'm going to get through this how can i be sure that you love me how can i be sure that the lord is going to come back for his bride how can i be i believe but how can i be sure and the thing that happened next was an incredible ceremony a ritual and here's here's what god did it was he took some animals and he and he cut the animals in half and he arranged them in a certain way now abram immediately knew what was going on we don't know what's going on but abram immediately knew what was going on because in those days this is how you built a covenant relationship in those days you would cut the animals and and the two parties would walk together between the bloody animals and what they were saying as they were walking through the animals was something like this they were saying you can cut me apart like these animals if i don't do what i promise to do if i don't keep my word if i don't live for your well-being then you have permission let me be cut apart like these like these animals are being cut apart but here's the crazy part of what happened in genesis 15 never happened in any other covenant relationship only god walks through the animals why why did only god walk through the animals because god knew that even though abram wanted to enter the covenant and was going to do his best he knew that abram was not going to be able to keep his promise to god and so god on the front end said abram i know that you're not going to be i'm going to always keep my promise to you but i know that you're not going to be able to keep your promise to me so instead of you having to be cut apart like the animals whenever you fail to keep your word for me i'll just go ahead and put myself in your place i'll be willing to be cut apart not only if i don't keep this word but when you don't keep this word i'll be cut apart on your behalf and this is a picture of what jesus did on the cross when he said i know you're trying and i know you want to do what's best but the reality is the reality is i'm going to have to be cut apart because if we're going to have a covenant when you fail i'm going to have to be the one who bleeds i'm going to have to be the one who bleeds i'll be ripped apart for you abram and i have it right here in my notes but you already did it so it'll be stupid for me to read it but i'm going to read it anyway i have in my notes i wish we could just have about five seconds of praise because we can be sure that nothing will separate us from the love of god and that we can live in confidence and this is the god he's the god who wants to have a relationship with us and he's done everything necessary for us to dwell with him and to be with him forever and forever and forever [Applause] so i just want to say three things about these covenant relationships and then i have an important decision that we need to make together so three things about covenant relationships number one it's just so unique it's just so unique and and what i mean by that is it's not modern there's not anything to compare to what happened that day what happens when god makes a covenant with us um i think the passage that explains the uniqueness so well is deuteronomy chapter 29 verse one let me just read what god said to the children of israel he says these 29 1 of deuteronomy these are the terms of the covenant of that the lord commanded in addition to the covenant that the lord commanded moses to make it hard so god is always making covenants verse 9 carefully follow the terms of this covenant so that you may prosper in everything you do all of you are standing today in the presence of the lord your leaders your chief men your elders and your officials and all the other men of israel together with your children and your wives so this is a family covenant and the foreigners that are living in your camps you are standing here in order to enter into a covenant with the lord your god now let me just point out that obtaining the presence of the lord is not the goal the presence of the lord is the pathway to come into the covenant with the lord but presence is not the ultimate covenant is the goal are you with me on this so you're standing here in the presence of the lord to enter into a covenant with the lord a covenant the lord is making with you this day and sealing with an oath to confirm you as his people that he may be your god as he promised you as he swore to your fathers abraham isaac and jacob i'm making this covenant with its oath not only with you who are sharing here with us standing here with us today in the presence of the lord but also with those who are not here today so he had us in mind when he's talking to those people way back in in israel he had uh we're we're not standing there but we're still making the covenant and this passage is loaded with information about a covenant for for instance you know every covenant has its terms and stipulations every every covenant must be entered into every covenant accomplishes something this one is so that you'll be you'll be able to prosper and i'll confirm you as my people and i'll get to be your god the covenants that god makes are generational abraham isaac and jacob see just not just you but to but to the ones who are coming after you every every covenant requires oaths somebody has to say it somebody has to promise it somebody has to make decrees every oath has responsibility to it he says i want you to carefully follow the terms of every covenant has consequences it says you'll be you'll be prosperous if you keep the covenant later on i didn't read it but it says if you don't keep the covenant there's a consequence to that as well you're not going to have the blessings and you're going to be cursed and and of course there's all this extended from the covenant i read about in in abraham it's abraham's i tried to find a definition of the word covenant and this is not a good one but it's mine it's a covenant is a voluntary mutually binding promise built on love you like it i think it could get better but it's the best i could come up with it's a mutually it's a voluntary mutually binding promise built on love it's when people say to one another i'm i'm yours i'll be faithful to you i'll be a friend that sticks closer than a brother i i want to it's the means of joining together it's where two people join together and the consequence of people joining together is i mean use your imagination when two people join together your enemies become my my enemies you know your your assets become my assets your friends become my friends you know how how how you live affects me because we're joined together you're the right side on the left side you know how how you behave has a consequence to my life if we're in covenant with one another and covenants are really odd in our generation because we grew up sticking up for ourselves come on we learned we learned to arrange our life around values that make us happy and what do we want out of life and what's my ambition so today's love language is something like yeah i'll be what i should be for you as long as as long as you are who you should be for me it's a it's a contract and again i i didn't see this till we were in the series but he goes all the way back to the garden of eden where remember i know you're tired of hearing me say this over and over but it's so profound because before there was sin god created male and female in the image of god and adam looked at the woman and he said ah bone of my bone they're flesh of my flesh that's covenant language it's like i see me in you and i see you in me and we're joined together in this fellowship with god but then sin came and the foundation of the relationship shifted and all of a sudden adam says now i'm going to call you eve i'm giving you a title you're the mother of every living thing and it's shifted from a a covenant relationship bone of bone flesh or flesh into a contractual relationship as long as you're the mother of every living thing we'll get along now it's conditional now it's contractual and that is how we have learned to have relationships we use this language in marriages sometimes i think we still say for better or for worse occasionally but but when we say that for better for worse i can almost hear the tremble in the groom's voice the bride is like do i have to say the for worse part you know can i just say the for better part because it's scary to enter into a covenant it's scary because covenants only work when both parties agree to the covenant if you promise to sacrifice but they aren't willing to do the same thing you're going to be taken advantage of you're going to be abused covenant doesn't work unless there's does this make sense but when two people agree or more people agree and they join their lives together in in in a covenant of mutual concern for the other mutual sacrifice for the father the bible says you're going to get astonishing results from that you're going to find dimensions of love height width depth length you're going to find dimensions you never knew we're available any other way then entering into this covenant kind of love now again let me just this is the part of the sermon i hope it's tedious a little bit stay with me in ancient times the highest loyalty was always to the family more than anything it was to the family but what if you loved someone so much that you wanted them to be in your family but they weren't in your family how would you get them in your family and the answer is you would make a covenant you may this is what adoption is okay someone that isn't blood family but you wanted to be in your family so what do you do you you pay the money you hire a lawyer you you do whatever it takes to make a new family and that new person who you love so much legally becomes part of your family so they have the privileges they have the protections they have everything and i'm just trying to point out that loving people is not enough there also has to be a process even a legal process by which people are joined together see this is what god has done for us he doesn't just love us from the heavens he adopts us spirit of adoption to bring us into into the family dobson says i want to spend some of my some of my life on you i want i want us to be joined i i'm willing to pay the cost of loving you and again i just i'm telling you things you already know but how many of you know to really love somebody is going to cost you come on every parent right come on every married person it's gonna love is costly it's costly and again i just want to say thank you god for not just loving me from heaven but adopting me and binding yourself to me through the covenant of the blood thank you thank you and i just want to say that a covenant never lessens the passion of a relationship but it assures and gives roots and structure to the love that god has for us same thing with marriage you know you don't you don't marry your kin folk unless you live in arkansas you don't marry your kinfolk you know sorry not sorry i'm from arkansas i'm from arkansas we're going to say i was born there you don't love your kinfolk but what if you love somebody so much you want them to be your kin vote you know i wanted beck to be my family so on january the 7th 1978 we made oaths we established terms we bought a marriage license we entered into a covenant and now the journey has begun of joining our to joining ourselves together so that we can become one and can i remind you again i know you guys know this so much but oh my goodness the goal of heaven is to get jesus a bride and this is not just a metaphor this is exactly what is happening right now the holy spirit is wooing our hearts to become one with jesus so it's unique it's very unique i love john 14 21 it says he jesus says he who keeps my commandments and does them is the one who loves me and he who loves me is loved by my father and i will love him and i will make my home with him oh i wish we would stay astonished at what god is doing here guys he wants us to love him and as we love him to to understand the stipulations of the love and he makes he dwells with us dwells with us makes us home with us we become family so it's unique but it's mysterious it's very mysterious exodus 19 3 talks about the mystery of the covenant now here here the children of israel are they're just coming out of their slavery they're coming out of egypt and they're standing on the verge of the promised land and and here's what god says exodus 19 he says so moses went up to god and the lord called to him and said tell the children of israel you've seen what i did to the egyptians how i bore you on eagle wings eagle's wings and brought you to myself and can i just say god is really romantic when he starts talking to you what a way to begin a talk i mean just a few hours ago they were screaming in their slavery they are helpless they are hopeless god says but i wanted you i wanted you i went after you i brought you to myself and then in verse 5 he says now therefore now that i brought you to myself if you will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant then you will be a special treasure to me that's bedroom language i am telling you that is bedroom language you'll be a special treasure to me above all the people for the earth is mine and you shall be a kingdom you shall be to me a kingdom of priest and a holy nation he is saying to this he is saying this to them while they are still slaves they have nothing they have no temple they have no army they have no resume and god says but i want you i want you so i went after you and i brought you to myself and now if you'll keep this covenant i will transform you i will cause you to no longer be a slave but a holy nation i will call you to no longer be a slave but a but a temple a a holy temple a royal priest make something out of your life that you can't even imagine possible in church this is how we do grow into our destinies how do we grow into our destiny we keep the covenant i read this week the story about david's wife her name was michael as far as i know in the bible she's the only woman who was the daughter of a king married to a king and positioned to be the mother of a king she had a lot going for her but she got really disappointed with life bad things happened her dad committed suicide her brothers were killed in a war while david was a fugitive she married another man so when david came back from being a fugitive he messed that marriage up pretty quick he said i'm getting my wife back and he could because he he was the king well they lived in their in their marriage for a while but one day one day david brought the ark of the covenant back into their hometown jerusalem do you know this do you know this story the ark of the covenant is the presence of god it's revival it's the glory of god david is exuberant he is worshiping and dancing he's so excited michael is watching through a window can i just say to you there is no safety in isolation i don't care how bad you've been beat up to only watch what's going on through a window makes you a critic you are a critical person if you are watching through a window while everybody else is going after god i feel better after saying that michael is more concerned about what's going to get posted on instagram tomorrow than she is david's encounter with god right now and instead of joining in joining instead of joining instead of letting david's enthusiasm for god nourish her she stays isolated and she focuses on herself and she criticizes david and the consequence of her isolation was barrenness no i don't think you understand it she forfeited her future because she stayed isolated and i'm just trying to show that there are practical applications to keeping the covenant keeping the covenant unforgiveness and jealousy and bitterness will break the joints apart when god's people are not joined to god and not joined to one another the future is at risk i know you're tired of hearing me use this illustration but it's just the best one i can think of i have two dogs one is old one is younger gypsy used to look at the squirrels and chase them she no longer does she just looks at cash while cass looks for the squirrels when cass sees the squirrel gypsy enjoys the experience when she sees cash see the squirrel she takes off running i don't know if you can see the ark of the covenant yet but when you see someone who sees the ark of the covenant just start running just start running just start running if you're joined to someone who has what you don't have you can have what they have if you'll stay joined to them but if you stay isolated you're going to forfeit your future [Applause] not enough to love god it's not enough to love people there are stipulations for love i got to stop look at my time i got to stop there are stipulations for love can i bec's not here can i tell you since she's not here she forgot me at the airport this week [Applause] true right katie she's left me hanging some meeting about reformers conference and i'm just like back you said you but you're not what's the go i don't understand was was that a problem that she forgot me not really not really do you know why because my covenant with her carries stipulations there are laws in our relationship and the laws that keep us together are that when we do something to hurt one another we forgive one another i could have stayed offended i could have pouted i could have you know slept for a week in the airport just to make her mad but our future come on somebody our future is too important for me to stay i'd rather be inconvenienced than lose the future i've come to i've come to ask you to keep this covenant keep this covenant don't just know about it keep it this is the secret to the early church again how many times have you made fun of me for using the word homotheumadon you think it's a sexual con concern it's not homophobidin is the secret to the early church they had the same fire yesterday yesterday when i can't even remember the football game that i was watching but somebody touched down and the whole stadium rose together and cheered together that's same fire that's homo thumadan and that's the secret to the early church acts chapter 2 it says we miss it we miss the word because it's translated into a very dull english word it's either translated together are in one accord and so in acts chapter 2 it says they were all in one accord and we're like oh that's nice they were singing kumbaya no they had the same passion they were joined together when suddenly there came a sound from heaven like a rushing mighty wind acts chapter 2 verse 44 says all who believed were together they had the same passion and wonders and signs through the apostles were done daily and no one had need and the church added daily those that were being saved acts 4 24 they raised their voice with one accord and the place where they were assembled was shaken and they were all filled with the holy ghost acts chapter 5 verse 12 they were in one accord in solomon's porch and through the hands of the apostles were meaning signs and wonders i'm just trying to get you to see that wherever there was the same union and passion and covenant and joining together there were miracles and signs and wonders and harvest and revival and i've just come to ask you to keep a covenant no wonder paul says in ephesians 4 3 that anyone who wants to walk worthy anyone that wants to walk in a life that honors the lord then they should bear with one another in love and endeavor to keep the unity of the spirit in the bond of peace i've come today to ask you to put up with me please please put up with me i'll do my best to put up with you i mean i think i appreciate that you're laughing about it but it's serious stuff i don't know why they're sweeping through america right now an attitude that says i have no need of you i don't need apostles of prophets or pastors are teaching i don't need that i can do faith on my own i can do spirituality on my own no that is an itching ear that is finding some teacher out there to support what you want to do but i'm just saying if we're going to grow if we're going to grow into the glory that god has imagined then this is a way for us to get better and the third thing i'll say about this when i close musicians join me please the third thing i'll say not only is this a unique thing and not only a mysterious thing it's an equipping thing it's equipping and what i mean by that is the covenant equipped abraham now he has faith now he fulfills his call and and can i just remind you his behavior wasn't always great even after the covenant he lied a lot even after the covenant he had sex with his maid i'm just telling you it wasn't based on his performance it's based on covenant suddenly he knew that this was a god who would not quit on him and so he he had an attitude like okay if you're not going to quit on me i'll never quit on you i'll never walk away i'll just i have some equipping sentences and then i want to ask you something i'll just say the sentences number one remember that the cross has two beams on it one goes to god and one goes to the people around you and yeah the cross has a vertical and a horizon i you know this the last couple of weeks i've been trying to make some phone calls to people that i know were offended at me i know it's hard to imagine that there would be somebody that's offended at me but there's a pretty long list actually and i read that part of the bible that says if you're going to give an offering or if you're going to pray a prayer and you realize that there's a breach in the relationship you should you should try to work it out before you pray before you give the offering so i've been trying to do that and i'll just be honest with you some of those conversations have not gone well in my mind it's like i'm gonna call and i'm gonna say i'm sorry i want to be back in a relationship and it's gonna happen but it didn't and it didn't happen and like what am i going to do with that you know and um i'm not sure i know the answer to it i'm not going to enter into a covenant with somebody who doesn't want to enter into a covenant with me i'm not going to do that but i'm not going to stare out the window at them and be critical either i'm just going to try to let god work it out and try to here's what i know that god's love increases the more i spend it number two equipping sentence only sacrifice can shift the treasure that's in your heart we know that like if i needed i had to give up baseball to really activate a priority for god to be in my life i did that it changed it changed the destiny of my heart and so we can do sacrifice for god we can also do sacrifice for one another and just that's what changes your heart sacrifice number three the center of the covenant is blood jesus says in luke 22 20 this is the new covenant in my blood and what i just want to say about this is it's the central truth of our gospel faith and it's this jesus died on a cross for people who oppose him and i think this might be a key to revival jesus said if you just love people who love you that's normal but if you love people who oppose you that manifests your sonship [Applause] i've got more but i got more times to preach too so it'll be fine i don't know i don't know how to i can sit now because my knee is all better i mean sitting was never the problem getting up was the problem so i struggled with this message for you because i didn't know how to end it i didn't know how to apply it i didn't know how to ask you to take covenant relationship is so unique like how does that work into my life and here's what i thought like if i'd preached this two years ago i would easily ask you i would say i'd say so come to the men's meeting tonight so we can join together i would say belong to the prayer group or small groups let's all join small groups i would say that to try to get you to join together but we've done that for 27 years and unless the worship is just perfect and the temperature is just cool enough and the teaching is just excellent enough you're going to leave after the third turn you're not going to stay because we've created this experience motif where it's like if i don't get what i need then i'm not going to stay and i don't know how to apply this i don't know what to ask you to do with this word though this is a bible word i don't know what to ask you to do with it so i think i'll just do what paul did when he prayed that you would be strengthened in your inner man by the holy spirit and that you would be rooted in love and that you would be filled with the fullness of god because if we could get it right on the inside i wouldn't worry so much about whether you think it's too cool or too hot or too loud or too soft because i would know that we're joined together to grow the glory that god wants to bestow so we'll have a closing prayer let's sing a song gabe and then we'll have a closing prayer i'm just going to stay here because even though my knee's better no let's stand everybody stands um [Music] keep my eyes on you you're the center of my life i don't wanna miss the glimpse of you i'm gonna keep my heart but the truth is i want to pray and typically my orientation for this closing prayer is to pray for people who have needs and um if you have a need i believe that your needs are going to be met by what we're going to do right now but the people i want to pray for right now are those who have an awareness that you're carrying some spiritual substance [Music] i want to pay i want to pray for people who are powerful in the house i want to pray for people who who know that god has given you an anointing that god has given you that god has given you spiritual gifts that god has given you a calling and assignment i i want to i want to pray for you because i believe that what god intends to do in our family is to join us together in such a way that what you're carrying can be disseminated to one another does that make sense to you and i feel like if there's anything that's happening in our culture today it is that we are building walls of isolation around one another i mean we're good in the lobby we're good in the foyer we can shake hands but i'm just looking at i'm sorry to embarrass anybody but i'm looking at lane and sandy and like nobody nobody had a sign up sheet for them to start showing up on monday nights and training young adults they were just like i just want to join to these young people and i just want to do i just want to give who i who i've become what i am and you know nobody asked carlinda to to come and nobody asked you know robert to go to the go to the nursing homes in fair park the worst part of town nobody asked that they're just like i just know i have something and i have to i have to give that i have to release that and if my job is to provide sign up sheets for you so that you can feel like you're involved or engaged then it's going to wear me out there's too many of you to try to all of you to be an usher or on the security team i'm just saying if there's something inside of you then be filled with the fullness of god and let the root of love grow and let you be strong on the inside by the holy spirit so if you know if you know if you're like dude i'm carrying something and i'm ready for it to be released i want you to come to the altar i want you to come like i know i've got something and i'm going to break a spirit of isolation i am not i am not going to settle to be a container when god has called me to be a fountain [Music] moments frankly in our church because you guys who came you're like yeah i know i know the same spirit that raised jesus from the dead is living inside of me i think there's a lot back there that know that too but you just like for some reason or whatever but it's okay and i'm just i'm just saying god has given to each of us a measure of faith god has given us spiritual gifts prophecy what whatever it's inside you yes it is and what we're saying today is god is going to direct me to join who i am with people who need what i have [Applause] yes i think we ought to just begin with praise right now come on come on this is the journey begin with praise god i adore you i thank you for what you put in me come on lift your voice to the lord god you're good you're good i'm carrying something come on it's not arrogant to know that you are spiritually significant it is not arrogant to know that god has an assignment over your life this is not pride this is knowing that i am carrying the spiritual substance by your grace that you have interrupted me you called me at the ear of caldes lord and i am not going to isolate anymore ah i break a spirit of isolation i tear down walls of separation things lord those things those offenses those fears those concerns those those condemnations that have kept us from joining our heart our life yes yes [Music] god i ask you in jesus name to commission these powerful people [Music] here's here's what i want you to do guys those of you who are at the front if you want to participate back in the back i encourage you to but here's the deal take what you have now and pour it into the person that's next to you put your hand on their shoulder and just pray prophesy over them put your faith in them put your hope in them put your love in them come on we're joining together right now we are praying you don't know how to pray with understanding just pray in the spirit but we're praying over one another right now god we need one another god you have look at look at how you have equipped us look at what you have done for us look at this family look at this family look at these sons and daughters look at these brothers and sisters look look god look what the lord has done look look father we we flow our love our faith our hope we flow that now into one another there's an agreement there's an agreement in the house there's an agreement in the house greater is he that is in us than he that is in this world there's an agreement for victory we put our we put our overcoming spirit in one another right now hallelujah we put our hope we put our victory we put our strength we put our fullness [Music] and we receive lord we receive come on we receive we receive we receive what you've deposited in this family we receive god we received [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] oh [Applause] [Music] okay okay who's in the house and says i really i really want i really want more of god rule more of god okay how many of you i don't get mad at me i love you okay how many of you want more of god spend what you have spend what you have let it flow out start a bible study at work invite somebody to lunch i don't know i don't know i don't know it's got to be out there it's not enough room for it to be in here it's got to be out there but do something to release what god has put in you and you'll get more [Applause] you'll get more [Applause] everybody bow your heads close your eyes i just want to make sure i just want to make sure the nine o'clock service because i've prayed for harvest i've prayed for people today to enter the covenant with god maybe you're here today and you're like i know about god and i believe that he died on the cross but i don't know that i've ever deliberately said to god i'm going to make covenant with him i'm going to keep this covenant with god but if you're in the place don't let me let's don't dismiss without without giving you a chance to say i'm all in with god show me your hand if you'll say pastor i'll give you permission to pray for me i'm all in with god yeah yeah i'm all in with god i'm entering the covenant entering the covenant with god thank you thank you i'm entering a covenant with god come on today's my day i'm entering the covenant with god and one more time god i just want to thank you that even though we know we cannot keep this covenant perfectly you are faithful to us even when we're not faithful to you oh god thank you that it equips this equips us knowing you're never going to quit you're never going to quit you're never going to quit on us you're never going to stop loving us what's going to separate me from the love of god in christ jesus that's the lord we vow to you today as your bride we're never going to quit on you come on say it out loud i'm never going to quit on you for better for worse i'm yours in jesus name praise god amen praise god hallelujah oh come on your best friend hallelujah for the blood for the blood for the blood of the lamb thank you god for the blood of the covenant the lord bless you and keep you and cause his face to shine upon you give you grace and peace now and forever and everyone said amen [Music]
