this elder nate this is pastor angel we are here with you again back to church sunday back to church sunday all over the country they are celebrating coming back uh to the sanctuary which we are excited about but of course you have been with us through the whole pandemic listen if this is your first time joining us here at a church and the plug-in show we want to welcome you oh we welcome you we want to welcome you let us know where you're from in the chat yes you joined us and this is your first time or your second time and you never let us know let us know please because we like to sometimes shout out yes people during the service and you know listen there's gonna be some different things happening yes and we're excited about what's going on here listen people are coming back to into the sanctuary people are still watching us online it's one family coming together to worship and to enjoy the lord together what do you guys think and people are coming back in the building but that term come back to church can also mean come back to watching us oh yeah come back to participating in the service come we ask that you would also share share this page share this service with your friends to invite them to come to church you know some people like i'm not going out you can still enjoy the lord you can still worship and hear the word and be encouraged and sing along with us really good you know and you're starting school and going back to work for those of you that that have been on vacation for a lot of the summer so welcome back welcome welcome back so we're glad that you're here listen um we want to welcome a new member yes yes come on welcome we love you girls all the way from virginia yes yes so people join us from south carolina florida california connecticut from all over so invite your family invite your friends it's a different experience to come and worship with us yes yes let's do a look a quick recap of thursday night service thursday night listen thursday nights if you get a chance if you're not able to make it to the building just tune in on thursday night too the plug-in show is here pastor angel's here she has special guests that come on with her she doesn't really invite me to come on thursday you have to be in new jersey in order to be invited on thursday anyway anyway we had a great service on thursday night with pastor george and you taught an incredible word and i have some notes here and talked about resisting what god made what god is permitting yes wow god is permitting your life he talked about spiritual alignment being aligned with god's will god's purpose god's timing wow cause sometimes we want things in a hurry yeah god's like i'm not ready yet yes and it and it it hurts sometimes like god do you hear me do you love me right and god's like i got you i got you i can see further down the road than you can i said that was a great message sometimes it's what god permits doesn't line up with what we just what we want oh my gosh like we have a vision for something and then god just got to throw something in there and i think ultimately at the end of the day because the bible says that he gives us the desires of our hearts i think we'll get there but just as pastor angel said god knows what's best for us sometimes better than we do right and and so um most of the time all of the time better than we do yes he does because we see it we like it we want it and god's like but underneath the rapper is poison you know wow and we have to ask god to show us yeah if this if this is for me at this time right and wait for him to answer now that's the hard part that's the answer the way and that's why that's why it's great to come if you come on sunday maybe there's an answer for you on thursday that's why it's important the gathering and who brings us together midweek and we don't have to wait from sunday sunday to sunday right and we always encourage everyone to at i try to encourage myself to read the bible every day every day try to get a word from the lord every day right try to get into that habit yes you do something for 21 days it becomes a habit so make a a a mental note make an effort to do it for 21 days after a while to be like oh yeah and then if you forget i didn't read my word today yes i didn't hear from the lord today yeah that's kind of hard when you're on vacation though okay so sometimes people have fears of coming back to church and we definitely understand that especially if you've lost loved ones to do to covet and different things and so we understand but this platform right here makes it available so there are no excuses for getting the word there are no excuses for joining us in our praise worship and word experience wow so let's start i mean we were we've been doing this for over a year now yes and i'm i'm excited to see pictures online sometimes you know with the way people have decided to come back to church and i mean shout out to khalia white my girl galea she gets dressed she has her film crew at home she's on instagram and she gets dressed up like with heels and everything and pearls and shout out kalia because when i was home i was in my pajamas watching church but she comes down the stairs and she sits on the sofa ready for so we encourage you to do that get out the bed get dressed you know it doesn't have something to your it does something to your spirit i think it does because when you when you dress up or eat not even dress up if you decide in your mind that you're going to church yes even if you're sitting in your house that you're going to church [Music] gather your family together sing out loud dance when we dancing wow when the preacher's preaching you can type in preach preacher or you can say it out loud at home and that's why if you choose the biggest screen in your home yeah and your hand gets tired right we'll put it on your screen put it on your screen so that you can dance and shout and worship with us i mean abundant life family worship church presents an incredible praise worship and word experience and i'll just say that because i'm a member here right because i you know i mean i can say that but i when i tune in and i'm away i really still feel like i'm in the building yes because of what i did and i've gone to church my entire life and being at home was was still you know like people say come back to church but church for me has meant being grounded church for me has meant seeming like i am on a um i'm at the gas station getting getting a fill up for the week right you know it gives me that fuel to help me get through the week and we need listen we need help all of us we need help every single day so when the word of the lord comes forward to us and we you know and we can hear it and we can experience the presence of god in ways that you know that sometimes when you're by yourself yeah yeah i mean you can listen to music at home right but there's nothing like being online and you hear sister evelyn say something yes yes you hear brother wallace say something you see them say at least they type it in and it's so incredible because now i can fellowship with those who are like-minded yes who really want to worship god and praise god like you see the waving heads and you see the hearts you see that's why we encourage you because somebody needs it somebody needs that to know that they can still make it to know that oh i woke up today and this today is the day that god is going to bless me let me get ready let me get prepared get ready prepared and ready for what god's going to do you know we have to the bible says enter into his gates with thanksgiving yes and answer who is born with praise you want to see right now my [Music] listen you have to just engage and connect and stay plugged in yes listen we're about the right thing stay plugged in don't listen i know it's tempting to go and get that cup of coffee i know it's tempting to go get something here turn it up now when you go get your car just stay connected and plugged in yes through the whole thing through the whole service because you never know what's going to happen who's going to be here you can hear the music in the background we're getting ready in the building okay you're ready we pray that you are getting ready we pray that you will pray with us and sing with us you know i like to find the joy that strengthens us to be able to live our lives to be the light of the world that you would be high and lifted up through us that others might say what must i do to be saved god it is our determined practice we will be disciplined laborers for you god that souls might say i want jesus so lord we thank you that we will not be so preoccupied with what's going on with our own lives that we won't see and perceive the needs of others we thank you lord for your presence in this place again that will give us joy that will strengthen us to be your servants to be your disciplined servants on the earth that you will be higher lifted up and you will draw oh man unto yourself we thank you jesus for your presence we thank you jesus for your presence o lord our lord how majestic is presence is forever you promise never to leave us nor forsake us and you're the god that cannot lie thank you for this privilege thank you for this honor that you bestow upon us to bathe in your mighty sweet presence jesus come come come our restless minds peace come unto us peace and assurance of your presence father we expect the full manifestation of your purpose for our gathering and we thank you for the souls that are now coming into the kingdom i just speak it and i decree it god i thank you that you're enlarging your kingdom right now if it's just one soul god we thank you because you said the angels in heaven rejoice over one soul i know we may not see them physically but the spirit of the lord is the resting people right now the spirit of the lord is bringing them into the kingdom god we thank you we thank you for souls we thank you for all my motion that now you're filling with your spirit oh god we thank you that your spirit is leading us your spirit is guiding us and at this very moment in history god we thank you that you're doing a work in us god work work holy spirit in the sky those that need the holy ghost god i pray right now that you will through twelve and we are extremely extremely excited about what god has done in the life of this church this we are 30 years strong and we thank god for how he has blessed us and kept us and on this upcoming week this thursday night we will celebrate we've been celebrating all year but we are coming together as a body of believers on this thursday night and we're asking you to come and join us service will begin at 7 30 those are that in person we will meet for prayer at seven but we're coming together lifting up the name of jesus on this thursday night on this friday night is the worship in ours is 7 30 as well we need you to come there is some great things that's going to take place we have a spirit of anticipation we're going to have some throwbacks we're gonna sing some songs and lift up bishop along with royal priesthood have done three cds and we're gonna be pulling from the cds songs that have been written by these are our songs here at abundant life in these 30 years god has blessed our bishop who leads us in worship and along with the team and and then some people gonna be coming in from different places so listen you need to be here in the house and online as well we thank god for you that are connected to us and then on this upcoming saturday somebody say saturday we're going to be out here in in the back parking lot having service so you can come those who say but you know what i may not feel um like i want to come inside but i can come out so we're going to be outside in the back parking lot singing the praises of god from 12 to 3 um 3 um p.m outside music and fun and fellowship um ice cream truck will be out there we're going to do some painting face painting for the children this is going to be a great time of us coming together and being reunited i like that being reunited so join us again that's thursday friday saturday and then we will conclude that portion of it on sunday it's going to be a great time you do not want to miss any of these services i encourage you i admonish you to make sure that you are here with us and also we are going to continue to hold up each other and pray for one another we're asking you to be praying for our spiritual daughter triva and the loss of her dad william henry hilliard um the services were going to be in north carolina it is a memorial service but we ask that you'll be praying for trevor her brother and the entire family also for our spiritual daughter ronda and the loss of her brother robbie and so we're asking that we would just pray for one another because we need each other how many know there is power in prayer amen there is still power in prayer prayer is still your weapon and i want to thank god for all of the ladies that joined me on yesterday morning for 8 a.m prayer we went feed the hungry yes you know one thing we just did in the back of our church there were some town houses and apartments and in the flood they had to be evacuated and they went to a hotel they were put in a hotel and so we called the city to find out what could be done and we donated 5 000 over 5 000 for their hotel stays and that's what it's about it's about because we don't give to any particular man that's not what we're doing but we purpose in our heart we want to give based on based on what it is that we believe that god would put in us to give to the community to give to our family members our friends to those that we fellowship and worship with yes we never know when it's going to be our time and we're going to need so that's why we're here we're encouraging you to give please i've been together all my life really yes i'm like a little bit over 37 and i've been in my son's 40 so i'm a little bit over 40 and um i've been giving all my life i was a giver when i was a little girl and i didn't understand that it would come back to me i gave because it was in my heart and they said god does a cheerful giver oh well let me get cheerful about this right let me get you i gave my ten percent if i got ten dollars for my birthday i gave a dollar you know i've always been a giver and it and it um stayed with me as i became an adult and god has richly blessed my life nate i don't know if you know this but i went through a divorce oh i didn't know that yes yes so ron peters is my second husband but he's the only man in my life 31 years [Music] but when i was a single parent three children my income was the only income wow i gave yes when i went back to school and i applied for loans and grants and things like that and i had to get on you know public assistance for a minute okay i tithed off my public assistance because i was a cheerful giver and i never went without my lights wow i never got evicted god blessed he blessed people to bless me to be a blessing to me and then when the overflow came i am in turn blessing others and perhaps perhaps you might be in a place right now that maybe you're not a cheerful giver but if you practice it if you do it over and coming to the light oh yes we gave um for abundant care for those who had were staying in the hotel because they got flooded and we want to say thank you abundant life for giving and we um gave 6 000 to those that are in the hotels to help them during this time thank you for your giving thank you so very very much see the word of god is still alive and well and and what i think is so valid vitally important is that we all maintain the perspective the correct perspective and understanding of the work of god in all of our lives the bible says things like if any man be in christ he is a new creation old things have passed away and behold look it's important that we continue to look and behold the things that god is doing in us through us in the earth in us through us in the earth and so let's keep our god perspective when it comes to anything and everything that we attach ourselves to and the things that we do because it's all for the glory of god and for the salvation of lost souls did y'all get all that it's for the salvation of lost souls the reason why we do what we do the reason why the church is the church i believe it's so that the church can grow and the way the church grows is to get more people to come on in somebody help me say come on in [Music] in the book of exodus chapter number 10 if i may draw your attention come on let's go to the word of god real quick i need to hear them get to get your bibles out your computer's out your phone's out wherever you got the word of the lord turn with me to exodus chapter number 10. i want to i want to read just a few verses there verse 21 22 and verse 23. listen carefully to the words that are written for our edification for our direction not only for our education edification for our direction but also this word is for our empowerment and that's my hopes and prayers today as i deliver this word to you that you'll be empowered by this word today that you will not be the same but that you will expand that you will grow that you will mature that you will rise to a new level of living uh let me just say this um where i'm gonna go this morning um i just want to kind of put something out there real quick if you're here in the sanctuary and i do see some of my blessed children some of the babies are here um in just a little while i'm gonna do something that's a little bit different than the norm that we do in the sanctuary um so just keep kids close to you and uh you know don't just tell them it's okay okay you y'all make them feel all right okay um i sometimes i get in trouble when i just drop bombs of unusual stuff in this church and sometimes when i drop bombs of words that i use and the parents be saying don't say that i teach my children not say that and so i don't i don't want to offend any uh families today so let me just put that out there in just a little while something's gonna happen in the sanctuary in the church that may um raise a question in your children's mind and it may simply mommy daddy what's going on right now so i just wanted to say that because i see my babies here and so here we go exodus chapter number 10 let's begin reading at verse number 21 are you there and the lord said unto moses stretch out thine hand toward heaven that there may be listen to this the lord speaks to moses and says i want you to stretch out your hand toward heaven that there may be darkness over the land of egypt y'all with me even darkness which may be felt this word is so crazy crazy good the bible says when moses stretched forth his hand he did just exactly he did exactly what the lord told him to do he stretched forth his hand toward heaven and the bible says and there was a thick darkness the moment says there was a thick darkness in all the land of egypt for three days for three days god speaks to the man of god and says if you stretch forth your hand i'll send darkness and i'll send it upon all of egypt and it will be there for three days verse 23 you there they saw not one another neither rose any from his place for three days get this but all the children of israel had light in their dwellings i i should just stop right there just let you take that scriptures take these verses of scripture home with you you meditated on it father left the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be accepted and i say the lord my strength my redeemer thank you for the interest of your word bringeth from light life illumination revelation thank you for the light that's in your word that settles in the hearts in the minds of your people today in jesus name amen back it up just for a second god speaks to moses and says i need you to stretch forth your hand and if you stretch forth your hand i will send darkness upon all of egypt and the bible says that when moses obeys god darkness comes on all of egypt for three days is no light but then he says but for the children of israel for the children of god for the people of god they will have light in their dwelling do me a favor those of you that are in the sanctuary those that are watching my stream and i don't know who you're going to talk to i don't know who's in your family awake right now ready to talk to you or who's not eating any breakfast right now but find somebody those are in the sanctuary just look over just look at somebody tell them the light is still on the light is still on okay let's let's go so i raised the question and i googled and i googled what is light exactly and this is what i've discovered that light or visible light according to this google dictionary says commonly refers to electromagnetic radiation that can be detected by the human eye this is this definition light can also be described in terms of of a stream of photons p-h-o-t-o-n-s packages packets of energy light energy each traveling with with wave-like properties light travels as the speed of light itself there is no light there is darkness would you imagine with me just for a second imagine with me the darkness that covered the land of egypt at the command of god to the man of god this darkness comes over egypt it is so thick that you can't even see someone if they were standing right in front of you it's darkness it was such a natural phenomenon and so dark that in the midst of the darkness fear fell on the people of egypt it's the darkness it was so dark that the story says that they couldn't even leave their homes because of the darkness can you imagine and does this sound a little familiar in this pandemic in this messed up situation we're in in this darkness on the face of the earth and it's touch communities it's touched countries it's touched nations and there's darkness and people [Music] can't seem to find their way and they were told not to really leave your home because if you left your home there's no telling how you're going to get back if they did leave their homes they probably wouldn't be able to find their way back because of the darkness no matter if it were morning noon or evening the darkness was still there because of the darkness they could not tell the time the day they couldn't tell when one day started or another day began because of the darkness this darkness brought to them personal confusion this darkness brought to them in their eyes and their minds in their hearts and their souls they became disoriented and the weight of the darkness caused everybody to be locked in and no one could escape the darkness but look at verse 23 one more time the bible says but all the children of israel had light in their dwelling the children of god had light in their dwelling in our texts god was doing everything he could i believe to get pharaoh to release the children of israel i believe pharaoh had had imprisoned god's people in egypt and he enslaved them to work for him and him alone but it was it has never been god's intention i believe for his people to be enslaved of anyone or of anything so it was god god was god determined in his own self to do to them or god decided that he was going to do to them what he always wanted to do to them god decided that he wanted to produce in them he wanted to create for them the thing that he has promised them down through the years so what god did was he began to work on how to free those who were held captives now now now just listen god wanted to free those who were in captivity you see god always wants to get you out of what the enemy has put you in the challenge to all of that is that we don't always agree with how god will get us out god was at work even in the midst of the darkness yet his he was determined to get the people that belonged to him free so so what he what he does is something that we don't think is the right procedure to get us free but what god does he sends ten plagues he sends 10 disasters everything from flies to frogs to lice to locusts to boils to to hell to fire you name it he sent it he sends these situations for the purpose of delivering his people somebody's getting this jackie i don't know i'm telling you god wanted to set his people free and this was a tough time to be in to be an egyptian it was here's something that amazes me about god i don't know if you ever had god to amaze you what amazes me about god is that he'll use absolutely anything and everything he'll use anything everything in any body if it will set you free he'll use it his intention is to get you free and he will use whatever he needs to use even when it breaks your heart think about it how in the world could he be a heart fixer if you're not never been broken god god this is amazing about god will use whatever he needs to use to get you delivered to get you set free to get your attention the question has been raised is this covet 19 from god or is it from the humans or the bats or china or whatever that's the question that's been raised and i don't think there's been any good answer yet but here's what i know god will use anything if it will help to get you free from some stuff god will use anything oh it's going to be a lot of people who give their hearts to jesus i believe during this time during this pandemic can i just speak this over this church speak this over this city i'm telling you i know we got some fears about shootings in our particular area there's been murders and it's been all kinds of crazy stuff but god will use that to get the attention of you and i so that we will stand on our watch so that we would get back to the place where we would pray until something changes not just in our hearts but changes in our surroundings changes in our community i need somebody to believe that god will work through whatever is going wrong to make it right god is the only god who can take a bad situation and make it right he's the only one that could do that he's the only one that recognizes the need for you to understand that which you don't understand and we we know it's happening in our community because of this pandemic so many people are fearing the worse in their lives some people have already i don't know but there's some people even members of this church who have gone through we've gone through some serious situations not only the pandemic but then we got water we got floods people have been going through and and these things that they go through oh i'm sorry for laughing i'm sorry for being tickled but i got a different perspective about it all these things that people are going through there's a reason behind it there's a divine purpose of god that is being erected in their lives and if we can somehow get them to see jesus just like you and i have seen jesus we have seen the light of our salvation through the sacrifice of jesus christ so some people are going through the worst of their lives but how many are grateful i don't know if i can get somebody to pause just for a second but while everybody is going through the worst moments of their lives i don't know if i can get anybody in this room right now or somebody watching while elders are going through the worst situations of their lives but yet the people of god those of us who are in christ jesus you know what the bible says about us we don't mourn like those who have no hope we don't mourn like they mourn we don't act like they act we don't respond like everybody else's response why because we have a hope that takes us beyond the veil of tears we have a hope that takes us beyond the pain and the agony and the struggle of kobe 19 or whatever happens negatively in the earth we have a hope beyond all of that i wish i could get a hundred people right now to shout thank god for hope beyond that come on i need you to live your voice and say thank god for hope beyond all of this indeed there's a lot of questions that need to be answered but but the bible says but all the children of israel had light in their dwellings in the midst of the confusion the disorientation the perplexities the uncertainties of life itself the darkness that they could not escape from the darkness that they could not hide from the darkness that they could not move away from but yet uh this may not make you dance or shout but it made me shout the other day but yet all the children of israel had life in their dwellings in the midst of a blanketed darkness all the children of israel had light in their dwellings in the midst of all the darkness from morning to night can't leave their houses can't even see the person in front of them because of the darkness but the children of israel had light in their dwelling i love that when all everyone else could see when all they could see everyone else could only see the darkness yet for god's people can i get some of god's people right now to just say thank you lord while everybody else sees the darkness while everybody else sees the darkness d while everybody else sees the darkness and tries to figure out how to overcome the darkness making decisions that does not bring them life trying and digging and planning and every news cast the air that decide everybody's trying to find and deliver an answer in the midst of all this darkness but for the people of god do me a favor point at somebody don't you touch him point at somebody and say but for you the light is still on when everyone else was hopeless for god's people somebody help me say for me the light is still on when everyone else couldn't find their way they lost their way emotionally they lost their way mentally they even some folk in the church lost their way spiritually some some some saints well not all the same but some things are still locked in their darkness not all the saints because some saints are in darkness but they're traveling in it if i were to go further than that i'm gonna get in a whole lot of trouble but they lost their way emotionally they lost their way mentally they lost some lost their way spiritually through the crisis but for god's people the lights were still on do me one favor tell yourself the light is still on are y'all getting this the egyptians couldn't leave their houses out of fear of the unknown but but but god's people but god's people had a clear direction somebody raised your voice and said i know where he's taking us you see god's people did not lose their way even in the midst of this darkness matter of fact there was god's people stood up and began to lead the way i find it very strange i find it very strange y'all y'all got to pray for me because i'm i'm trying to i'm wrestling with this stuff that i'm finding very strange i wrestle with the things that i find very strange and i find it very strange that the world in the midst of this pandemic in the midst of this darkness the world has figured out what they need to put in place so that people can get back to living while the church is ducking and hiding in fear and doubt but but but the airlines is figuring out this is what you got to do to fly now the government is freaking out this is what you got to get so that you can be here but the church is somewhere hiding in the darkness and with no understanding that you got a life i'm just wrestling with this i'm wrestling with the fact that that some of the science can find more comfort in the darkness than they can in the light y'all help me pray for me you help me by praying for me right now because i know some people have they want to turn me off right now i know some people they only want to hear this because they say i'm just trying to keep myself safe and secure but death oh god help me don't look please y'all pray that i don't scream there's no greater security but found in jesus safe and secure from all alarm you you forgot to lean on him that's the problem you allow the darkness to be greater than the light the text because the text because if that kind the text the text gives me a story because if that kind of darkness hit my house and i looked out my window over at my neighbor's house and saw that my neighbors still got light their lights on let me tell y'all something i'll be finding my way over to my neighbor's house i'll be i'd be over that at that house i'd go down that door i would let me in cause you got something that i don't have but i need it you got something that i don't have but i need it you got something that i don't have but i need it and if people if me may tell me don't you go over there messing with them people tell y'all something when you get fed up with the darkness see it's too it works two ways you got to get fed up with the darkness and then open up your eyes to see where the light is because the deal with me is i don't care where they got the light from all i know is i need some of that light so i'll do whatever i got to do i'll fight through the darkness give me my phone i need my phone i'll fight through the darkness i will make my way to the to the house where the light is i whatever i got to do you know we got these wonderful phones now where you can you can uh take your phone and you can you can is my light on is my light on is my light on this is a revelation this ain't in my notes but is my light on can you see my light and if you can see my light and most of y'all are in the darkness especially those in the middle section y'all in the darkness but can you see my light all i'm asking the church right now is to make your way to the light you don't have to live in darkness when you see the light just follow i don't care what kind of candle you got follow the light because the light has oil in it the light has healing in it the light has your deliverance the light has your direction the light has your power the light has your determination the light has your vision the light has your walking the light has your talking you can't be in darkness if you get to the light somebody shout i'm going to the light i don't know where you going tell your neighbor i'm going to the light enough of this darkness in the darkness you can't see anything in the darkness there's no hope in the darkness there's no joy the darkness has no peace in the darkness and the darkness is just darkness i don't know if anybody's fed up with the darkness but i am and it's time for the people of god to begin to share our light oh come on i i need somebody to help me i need you to say it's time for us to share our light yeah come on say it again say it's time for us to share our light i need 10 more minutes come on say it again it's time for you to share your life tell your neighbor come on come on some of y'all don't even want to tell your phone on you should have plugged it in last night and powered it up that's the problem with the church we ain't got plugged in to power up so when it's time for us to cut the light on we ain't got no power to cut the light on at least you should have done you should have been in prayer last night you should have been in the word last night you should have been where you can get yourself empowered so that when you need to cut the lights on because all of egypt is in darkness i'm not super smart but i'm telling you this makes sense to me because i don't know about you but i need all of us to be clever enough we need to be smart enough to go next door where the lights are still on if you see somebody with the light on go hook up with them and then get light and bring it home is there anybody in this church seeing what i'm seeing right now you see because there's some individuals who don't who who during this crisis are realizing just how dark it is over at their place they're realizing that there's too much fear in me why am i so so much anxiety why are there so much uncertainty in me what you're realizing is how much darkness you got hey god help bt because because fear is the product of darkness anxiety is the product of darkness uncertainty is a product of darkness worrying is a product of darkness unforgiveness is a product of darkness that's a good key i did that butt in right there but [Music] but for god's people the light was still on can i get god's people to say the light is still on the light is still on for some so much so that when we lose loved ones who have been in jesus it's gonna be a little tough right now but those who have been in jesus and you're living in the light when when those who are in jesus go to be with jesus we don't mourn like those who have no hope i heard a testimony about a man approached the family who lost their grandmother and when they he approached the family he said my condolences i'm so sorry to hear of your loss but one of the family members said ah they that bad mama lived to go see jesus and to be absent from the body is to be present with the lord that was grandma's longing that was her desire she is found in the presence of jesus christ so i thank you for your condolences and thank you for all that this sadness but it's really not a sad situation for us because we're not living in darkness we're living in the light so for us the light says there's a celebration that's taking place in heaven there's a celebration that's breaking place around the throne room of god because to be absent from the body is to be present with the lord i'm not telling you that you ought to embrace death but i need you to understand death for the believer for those who are in the light i know that sounds strange come on tell your neighbor that sounds real strange for bishop to say that because offering condolences because you're sure the family is devastated that's why we do it that their the grandmother just passed away but but it's but but there was a family member that was excited for mom excited for grandma because the light in their life tells them that she's going to a much better place the new living translation first thessalonians chapter 4 verse 13 and now dear brothers and sisters we want you to know what will happen to the believers the bible says who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope can i get i'm almost done maybe 10 of you to give god i don't know if you want to help them but give god a five second stupid praise for hope just for hope just for hope just for hope i i need 10 of you to just give god your praise for the hope [Music] and if you praise him for hope he'll pull you out of darkness [Music] all right sit down and hope you see here's something when you're in darkness when you are in darkness you cannot see what god is trying to do in your life no you can't all some can see is the darkness the techs but the children of israel had light in their dwellings i'm like i'm like this i become now more excited about some of the bad things that are happening because i understand the goodness of the lord in matthew's gospel chapter number 5 verse 14 the bible says you're the light the bible says you're the light of the world the bible says matt the bible says we be the light he says you the light he said you're the light of the world he said you're the city that sits on a hill and it cannot be hidden it can't be hitchhiking are y'all hearing me the bible says you're the light you're the city that sits on the hill god has lifted you up where you cannot be hid i'm almost done five more minutes verse 15 says neither do men light a candle and put it under a bushel but on a candlestick and it giveth light unto all that are in the house so let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your father which is in heaven ye are the light of the world why are you screaming it because somebody needs to believe it here's what's so interesting to me here in this text jesus says he says let me let me back it up just for a second he does not say diane he doesn't say hey if it's possible could you kind of like be delight he doesn't say hey let me let me see if you could possibly be disliked no he does not give you options in his life he says you are the light of the world you're the city that sits on the hill go back there that cannot be hit and we don't light a candle and put it under a bushel no we don't we don't i don't i don't work that way so we course here no there's no debating this are y'all getting this you are the light of the world you you the light make the devil real mad stay within yourself say i'm the light [Music] your level of frustration happens because you don't want to accept that you delight and you find yourself acting like dark that's what builds frustration because he says i made you the light and you will not be hidden which means god oh you ain't gonna like this he will make you brighten the day when you feel frightened the night he'll make you increase in your exuberance of life itself after you come through the struggle the pain the agony even when you felt like you were defeated but he'll rise up in you and command you to be the light he said i put something in you i made something out of you and you fight me all you want but this light will not go out and this light will not be hit you can't hide he said you the light of the world he said i put something in you you the light of the world you can't hide it under a bushel or you can't you can't doubt this thing you can't be in worry and sin you can't be fumbled around in this thing but but do you understand that you're the light do you understand you the light do you understand what the light is going to do in you and through you see that light in you is going to shine that light is going to start shining in the darkness [Music] that light is gonna start to shine in the darkness of that bushel yeah people are gonna start paying attention to you because you got this light because he wants the light of the gospel of jesus christ as shown in your life you are forever a light in the darkness oh i gotta stop no matter where you go or how far you go there will always be a light somebody say always a light [Music] there will always be a light that wasn't in your life before [Music] but when jesus came in he brought the light some of you may understand what i'm talking about i don't know you see some of you have been trying to run from the father the call you've been trying to run from the light and you tried to bury your light you try to bury it under a bushel but no matter where you went or who you were with or what you were doing the light was still shining and that's why you you couldn't be comfortable hidden under a bushel you could not be comfortable being in the wrong place at the wrong time because there's a light and you i i pray for those who are struggling right now because of the darkness that surrounds you and the light that's trying to rise within you you can't seem to make the right decision because of the darkness that surround you and the light that's trying to rise up within you [Music] trying to figure out why you're doing stuff that you know you ain't supposed to be doing because you're trying to hide that light trying to be like peter remember peter at the crucifixion standing with jesus standing around they say to peter we know who you are not me we know that you know who jesus is peter he said i know trying to hide the light where you shouldn't be doing what you shouldn't be doing but your light is still bright and your light is brighter than your darkness see there's no darkness darker than not knowing who jesus christ is that's the darkness of darkness there's no darker place in the world than not knowing how very much jesus loves you and what he died to make for you that's called salvation you thought that was all hidden under a bushel but when when someone else has more darkness than you do that little bit of light that is that is still shining in your life looks it looks pretty good to them you're like somebody help me save my life some of you say well i don't have a whole lot of faith right now i have a whole lot of brightness right now you don't need a whole lot just just use what you got the light may be little but it's a light in the bible and i close i'm going to close hebrews chapter 6 verse 18 so so god has given both his promise and his oath the bible says this these two things are unchangeable because it's it is impossible for god to lie therefore we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to this blessed hope that lies before us we have hope the light gives us hope you see hope is light hope lets you look for tomorrow it lets you look for a better day it causes you to believe the the impossible even when for others believing for others is impossible but your home somebody help me say my hope your trust your hope your trust in jesus during this crisis is a light to those who do not know him uh you can't put that light under a bushel it cannot be hidden any longer why because the light is still on your light your faith in god your trust in his provision during this time is still on your confidence in the god that you serve through the tears running down your faith the light is still on i'm reminded of the prophet jeremiah god said in jeremiah 32 verse 27 behold i am the lord the god of all flesh is there anything too hard for me you see beloved this situation that we have we have going on in in our world right now is not too hard for god because of it in the midst of it in spite of it we we will we will reach we will still reach lost souls because of the light we will rescue the perishing because of the light we will bring light into the darkness of people's lives even in the midst of this pandemic so so the gospel becomes our direction people would you let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your father which is in heaven especially today especially right now why because there is hope in the light we have hope in the light okay so let us find a way i need to turn my light off i can't find i can't turn it off oh wait a minute i can't turn the light off still it's still on okay all right all right i'll just put it down i'll just put it down but putting it down doesn't turn it off because it's still there i'll just cover it cover it doesn't turn it off it's still there [Music] walk in the light beautiful light come with the dewdrops of mercy shine bright shine all around us by day and by night jesus the light of the world walk in the light beautiful light come on come wear the dew drops of mercy shine bright [Music] shine all around us by day and by night oh jesus light up the world says now ye are the light of the world you're the city that sits on the hill that cannot be heard darkness is trying to find its way to the light can we please turn the light back on the light has not died you just found a way to flick the switch you found a way to cut the power but if you can just power it back up again it'll do what it's supposed to do it'll light the path for those who are in darkness all of egypt was in darkness but the children of god had life in their dwelling let's pray father i just want to say thank you thank you for the light of hope that you place inside of us i just pray lord that you will stir us up activate something else in us so that we will not hide this light that we will not cover this light but that we will let it shine bright so that those who are in darkness can discover a greater light and that's you jesus so father i pray for those who are still in darkness in their hearts in their minds in their lives and i pray for the light of your precious love your awesome peace to shine bright before them and then lord would you lead them to this light well you you said that there's none that can come except father leads them then pushes them in gets their attention and as you spoke to the man of god and he obeyed the darkness came but your people had light in the midst of their darkness lord let let somebody find that light today let them find the light of salvation whether they're watching my streaming online or they're in the sanctuary lord you promised that if we lift you up you will draw all men to yourself lord draw them to the light bring them to the light and then father i pray for those who have forgotten that the light is still on they made some mistakes along the journey but the light is still on fell off but the light is still on remind us today that the light is still on in jesus name amen those of you that are watching please they're going to talk to you in just a minute and lead you in a way that you can make your way to the light of salvation to jesus christ those of you that are in this sanctuary if you're not in the light but you say bishop hey this is my time i need to come into the light i want to come into the to light of my salvation i want to be saved today i want to accept jesus christ today i'm a backslider and i want to come back to the light i found ways through my struggle to dim my light but i want to get it bright again i wanna i'm gonna i wanna i want that light to be turned up i wanna get brighter again would you pray with me would you pray for me would you help me i want you if that's you if you're a sinner you say i'm coming to jesus to get into the light or if you're backsliding you say i want to get back to my light i want you to get move out of your seat and come to this altar right now i want you to come right now come right now i was i was just going to say pray for you but i want you to come right now because you got to walk toward the light you got to come you got to come you got to come to the light you got to come to the light you got to come to the like you got to come to the light you got to come to the light you got to come to the light jesus is the light of the world come to the light come on come on come on come on come on come on come on the light the light the the fact that you are thinking about coming the fact that you are feeling that you need to come it's because the light is still on we just gotta we people father i pray that the light will shine bright in these hearts and these souls let it shine so bright that there will be a a comprehension and understanding of an ultimate opportunity that they have to express their need for more light for the light to be turned back on for the light to exist inside of them i pray in the name of jesus as we stand in agreement with these hearts with these lives that true light will come lord some have made mistakes because of the darkness the darkness it was just too dark but lord today the light is coming on clear vision to see where you should not be to to do what you should not do you vision clarity eyesight the light to see the light to see the light to see some of you sitting standing there you need more light you need some more light you've been struggling in some areas of your life it's because the enemy has tried to dim your light but jesus wants to activate he wants to turn it up in you i speak and declare this over your lives get the courage to come to the light receive the light i don't know i'm i know i'm talking to somebody right now in jesus name you didn't come to this other but you right now that darkness is following you everywhere you go and jesus is calling you to be the light again some of you lost your ability to witness he said i need you to be a witness i need you to shut set that light of fire ablaze inside of you it's the season this whole world is groaning and travailing waiting for the lights to show up you are the light start acting like the light you got hope you bring joy peace to people's lives or i'm making some of y'all witnesses today some of y'all been trying to figure out i'm just so struggling i'm just struggling well you you can end your struggle if you start to help somebody else in their struggle if you'll be that light you won't be so engaged with the darkness if you start shining the light i pray in the name of jesus that the light will shine brighter in you in jesus name those who are at this altar they're going to take you and give you some information or get some information from you just go with them real quick you'll go with them those of you that prayed for them just walk with them put your arms around them just walk with them go ahead and and those you that just came for a little more light to be placed inside of you i see you i see you too mom i see you come on all your fears all your worries all your aggravation all your temptation all that stuff will be dispelled if you just sign the light up turn it up turn on the light limp live like you know some hope in you right now last week you were a little down but this week it looks like you're back up again because the light is on again and you're going to live because of the light thank you for the team was amazing i was singing with them helping them to stay on their notes oh for every mountain that was no no on that song i went into worship uh the song at the off for every mountain yes for this we give you praise [Music] i can't find the key in me but it's coming it's coming it's coming so anyway listen we had a great time today we did we had a good time and um the word was very rich i wrote down some notes um you know don't let your circumstance dim your life right right right like there's there could be there will be times when you're going to be going through some dark times but there is always oh my gosh you said that today and it's like look for the light yes the dark time is coming look for the light and that light is jesus and sometimes when so many things are going on all around you it's like you're looking straight peripheral everywhere a focus sometimes we gotta do like this and focus and that might mean going into your prayer closet going into your uh your bedroom wherever you pray and just getting on your knees and getting on your face before god god i need you because i can't feel you right now i can't see you but i know you're there and we look for the light yeah look for it and one another point that he made today was that sometimes we have to get fed up with the darkness sometimes we get comfortable and maybe in our sorrow we get comfortable and sometimes defeat sometimes we just used to maybe not winning every single time right but look at god look at god once we get fed up with living in some of those circumstances that light just shines begins to shine through us and i you know this was incredible today this is a great word when you decide to get up you know it's okay not to be okay sometimes yeah it's okay but when that spills over into days and weeks phone a friend call on jesus put on some worship music open your bible matthew 5 and 16 is our focus scripture for the week and what does it say elder nate tell us let your light shine let your light shine be four minutes that they may see the good works and glorify god matthew 5 16. matthew 5 6 even memorize that for the week so because we all need each other and if my light is shining at one point and nate's in a dark place he could hey pastor andrew can you pray and if i'm in a dark place and his light is shining let you i know that he's saved i know that he loves jesus other nate can you say your prayer for me so remember that in the good times let it shine bad times let it shine i'm gonna let it shine yeah good i love that i love that you know what she was gonna say today right you do that but what's so important today um as we were coming back to church and getting i don't know for some of us reconnected after holiday vacations and summer break or whatever we staying reconnected what pastor andrew just said was so important because sometimes we don't recognize that there are some things that we may be doing or feelings and we if we stay connected if we stay plugged in oh my god we stay plugged into each other because we love to see you here we love to we love to see your your hearts and your likes and your comments and everything we love to see that here but more importantly stay connected with each other yes because that's why you can either come to the building or you could come to us online and you can stay connected but please please please i i i want to just say that very strongly stay connected don't be isolated right no man is an island no man's island and because your light shines so bright sometimes you may not know how much you're helping somebody by simply just typing in a word simply by showing up in the sanctuary you just don't know so and so we want you to stay plugged in this week oh we got some great things for you thursday night it's our 30th anniversary church zero baby 3-0 so on thursday night we have service service begins at 7 30 but we'll be here at 7 20. so join us at 7 20 on thursday 7 20 on friday is worship night and on saturday from 12 to 3 outside in the parking lot you don't want to miss what's going to happen this week now just as pastor angel said she said 7 30 remember that's a little bit of a change from the previous weeks right so it's about a half hour earlier but we got a lot to accomplish but on saturday bring the kids out there's going to be a food truck i think our ice cream faith painting 12 to 3 is it 23 from 12 to 30 praise team's gonna be outside and then sunday morning saturday sunday bishop is gone just you don't know what's gonna happen at abundant life our 30th anniversary will accommodate on sunday at 10 at 9 50. i'm gonna change it to church time 9 50 because we'll be here we'll be here so listen i'm so glad that you decided to join us today we
