to genesis i want to welcome you to another sunday morning live second service under the leadership of dr delford davis and his wife minister petrova davis we are here this morning on the father's business i said we are here this morning on the father's business we put aside our own agenda it cannot fit this morning if you had your own agenda this morning we are here on the father's business amen amen and it came to pass after these things that god did tempt abraham and said unto him abraham and he said behold here i am and he said take now thy son thy only son isaac whom thou love is and get thee into the land of moriah and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which i will tell the earth and abram rose up early in the morning and settled his ass and took two of his young men with him and isaac his son enclaved the wood for the burnt offering and rose up and went into the place of god which god had told him then on the third day abraham lifted up his eyes and saw the place far off and abram said unto his young men abide here with us and i and the lord will go yonder and will and worship and come again to you praise god and abram took the wood off the burnt offering and laid it upon isaac his son and he took the fire in his hand and a knife and they went both of them together and isaac spoke unto abraham his father and said my father and he said here i am my son and he said behold the fire and the wood but where is the lamb for the burnt offering and abram said my son god will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering so they went both of them together and they came to the place which god had told him of and abram built an altar there and laid the wood in order and bound isaac his son and laid him on the altar upon the wood and abram straight forward his hand and took the knife to slay his son and the angel of the lord called unto him out of it and said abraham abraham he said here i am i and he said lay not thine hand upon the lord neither do those things unto him for no i know that though fierce god see that though has not withheld thy son thine only son from me and abram lifted up his eyes and looked and behold behind him a ram caught in the thicker by his horns and abram went and took the ram and offered him up for the burnt offering and in the steed of his son fourteen and final and abram called the name of the place jehovah jiren as it is said that to this day in the mount of the lord it shall be seen shall we bless the lord shall we bless the lord in moments of times we think that god is not going to come through for us and we look at the time and it is 11 59 at that crucial crucial time and just at the moment we're about to give up our throne the torah that's when god come in and snatch you anyone can testify at that this morning can anyone testify that god has snatched you at the moment of when you're going to give up the moment you're about to throw on the toel bless the lord you may have your morning we the youths want to encourage everyone listening including youths all over jamaica and the world that you can face any giant in your life with god whether it be seasick giant cape giant financial giant sickness giant or any giant that exists in your life today you can face them with god on behalf of our pastor bishop dr delford davis his wife minister dr petrova davis or senior assistant pastor minister aisela newman the youth executive committee and all the members of the poor faith ministries international we welcome those who are viewing on pfm family tv on channel 602 sorry you can indeed face any giant energized does it really matter what the giant is the giant coming of elephant sheep and sizes and color it doesn't mean that the giant is nine feet tall in flesh gathering and we thank the lord for those of you who are here with us in the sanctuary those who are in other places we welcome you artilly and that's handsome young man's trident young man who came and gave the welcome what do you throw at his feet i mean he just grew away like that dear god it's good to see these little kids grow up in the church and become young people and are still in the few words for about 10 minutes with all the parents of teens your teens were a part of teens let me say were are a part of teens the directors would love to engage you for just about 10 minutes as we prepare for restart of many programs in this church and having said that as of july 1 when the curfew order begins at 11 pm we hope to engage all our services at the usual times except sunday night accept choir rehearsals except live choir ministries all the other engagements activities youth ministries men's ministry women's ministry our marriage enrichment ministry and the others canteen service as of next sunday morning all of these will be reengaged to serve you and serve you well so please bear that in mind and starting next sunday evening i want to bring you a special series from dr t cephus russell cephas on church administration church building that will be only on youtube and facebook for those of you who want to be engaged between the hours of 7 30 p.m to 8 30 p.m especially those of you are in leadership i think you will benefit tremendously from the offerings of this wonderful servant of god some of you may remember him he ministered here many years ago and gave me some powerful ministry on tapes that we can share with the body of christ just like we did with the maurice cirillo series only that this will be on from audio so please if you are interested and i hope you will be starting next sunday night until we are able to re-engage our sunday night services but wednesday daytime fasting one session starting at nine o'clock wednesday evening service and friday night prayer meeting will be in the church as of then amen give the lord praise everybody we ask you also to be very compliant and be responsible as we continue to observe the disaster risk management act the wearing of masks washing sanitizing of ants social distancing staying from crowded situations if you have flu-like symptom or you're not feeling well in your body stay away from others and ensure that you get well so that you do not get worse and make others get sick amen our prime minister like i said this morning the most honorable andrew michael olness he took a great step of faith by relaxing the measures to this extent and i heard him said many things among them he can commend the church for the way we have responded and he trusts the nation to respond positively and to do the right thing so we do not descend back to where we were some months ago but we'll continue to go in the right direction are you pledging your cooperation all right please do coming to this ministry dcm they have a special dedication service there well i should have gone there but no not me this time i tell you i'm going to start hot like a senior citizen okay and you treat me like and morning maybe not popular maybe not one that here before i will hear again i want to share with you on a theme this morning give god your isaac not your ishmael hallelujah somebody bless the name of jesus give god your eyes up not your ishmael in simplifying this theme this morning what i want the church to understand we must at all times give god our best oh hallelujah somebody blessed god somebody praise god give god your eyes up not your ishmael give god your best not sometimes but at all times glory to god somebody bless god not just that we must give god our best i want the church to understand and realize today that god is expecting the best from us god is not satisfied with nothing less than the best only the best alone is good enough to god oh hallelujah somebody said that 99 [Music] give god your best give him isaac not ishmael oh glory to god somebody praise him somebody praise him god was making a request of abraham a request that was never yet made in history god used to accept sacrifice but he have never yet asked someone for a human sacrifice so this was strange unto abraham for god to tell abraham to give me your son oh glory to god somebody bless god so here we have before us in this text in genesis 22 isaac which was called the only son of abraham but in fact at the time of isaac's birth ishmael was already 14 years old oh glory to god somebody blessed god not just that ishmael was 14 years of age ishmael was alive and well yet the bible said your only son isaac when i read this text i wonder if the bible was contradicting itself or there was a mystic for god to ask for the only son while ishmael was alive but when i re-read this scripture and read slowly and carefully and closely hallelujah the bible said the only son whom thou love us god know that there was another son but ishmael wasn't love the way that isaac was loved oh glory to god somebody praised god so god said give me thy only son whom though loves hallelujah somebody bless the name of jesus so upon researching the word only i realize that there is a hebrew word hallelujah that pronouns yashid y-s-e-h-i-y-d which mean in hebrew hallelujah unique and special oh the altar no resistance ishmael would have jumped off that altar ishmael would have retaliated ishmael would have fought back and said oh no i'm not up to this but isaac laid quiet before abraham as god to reposition us let the world come to us a second time as it came to jonah because there are those who have gone their own way but please send us the word a second time and help us to obey your work for us and grant oh lord that when all is said and done we will lay hall at the altar and that's when we will have peace and sweet rest when we yield our body i know a sword you can only be
