that june will be a month of prosperity yes blessings favor healing restoration uh i just believe that this month i just had this expectation yeah going into june like there's so many things that god was speaking to me speaking the series of being blessed and understanding how blessed i am i want to speak the same blessings over my rock titty family and to everybody else who's watching the stream just in the comments i am blessed i am blessed it's not a feeling it's a fact i don't have to feel blessed i am blessed you are blessed so let's go ahead and spread blessings everywhere today i received and that's why here at rock city we have one rule yes but you can't rock blast the law you oh come on now i like that you can't rock blessed alone because you are blessed you gotta share you gotta let somebody know share like tag send the link to your family and your friends this series has been life-changing it's been such a blessing and you don't want to just be a hearer of the word what else you want to be do you want to be a sharer terror of the word yes we love it so make sure that you invite people because i believe today's word is going to be a blessing to all of us and speaking about the word being a blessing i love every morning waking up starting off my morning with the word of god uh the bible talks about early in the morning will i seek thee uh and i just think for us as we get together share the word if you lead as many people who are being used by god it allows us to kind of connect in that spiritual way as a family and really growing the word together yeah and even just thinking about the devo you know i go back to sunday yeah and how i have received so many messages shout out to state representative marika coleman i got a chance to see yeah she said that she got a chance to tune in to sunday's message where we know our very own pastor holly is preached about the importance of not wasting don't waste it he said that we cannot afford to waste our time our treasure or our town right and so even with this week's debo we talked about the need on tuesday not to waste time i often times say that time is one of the greatest assets that we have it's the one thing that we cannot get back you know and so when you think about sunday's messaging this week what is something that just kind of resonated with you yeah we don't waste it and we talked about also he talked about talent not wasting talent and many of us have gifts we've all received gifts from god but we don't use it because we're so busy comparing our gift to someone else's gift there is something that god has placed inside of you inside of everyone watching that nobody else can give to us but you yeah so what is what gift what is it that you're sitting on uh that other people are waiting on we are waiting for that book what is it that you're sitting on that so many people are waiting on we need that book we need that movie we need that script we need that song we need whatever that boutique whatever it is we need the bundles whatever you're going to do a guy is asking you he's calling for you to do it not to waste the talent that god has given you by comparing it to what somebody else has that's so good yeah yeah so i think the series for me uh it's been a blessing last week and i love how in devo we go back and we spend every day kind of re-uh regurgitating the work that we received on sunday and i think that's what helped me up tuesday uh wednesday every single day has been a blessing so you want to make sure that you wake up central time 7 21 a.m central time on facebook and youtube and be a part of over a thousand people waking up every morning days a week six days a week monday saturday over a thousand people logging in just to talk about the word of god i absolutely love it yeah absolutely i mean it's so exciting you know when you get a chance to talk about jesus and what we know is that who he was back then is the same man as he is even today he's still performing miracles he's still opening doors and we see that even throughout our ministry when we think about what god has done through the life of pastor mike you mentioned earlier just the seven stellar awards and you yourself were also nominated we have different individuals that are making history i got a chance to talk to dre about two folks that are part of our ministry that are bodybuilders and they were named i want to say national champions like that is a big deal but that's what happens when you are connected and you when you are deeply rooted into good ground yeah absolutely and pastor mike he he wakes stuff up inside of you you know he's such a dreamer he's such a visionary shout out once again to our pastor he wakes things up inside of you and he reproduces after himself yeah uh he is showing us in just a short amount of time what he's been able to do being nominated for artist of the year in the gospel community and so many other awards and accolades are coming his way and he's touching lives all over so to see that it's not just happening with pastor mike it's happening with so many other people as i look at you do you reading the awesome work that you're doing and i just want to take a moment to highlight my sister just this past weekend tulsa uh being down there what we know uh was the site of a mass it was murder and uh the tulsa riots uh the 100 year anniversary now yeah to see you uh boots on the ground as you've been in so many i think it's a moment that we can just celebrate our own d read and just show her some love in the comments because she is definitely doing it from the right place and she's not wasting it she is out there she's making it happen and we appreciate you how what was that experience like i've had a chance to go down there uh some years back but what was it like being there for the 100 year anniversary of those tolsa riots i mean it was powerful to think that i was standing in the very place where 100 years ago you had more than 300 people who were murdered yeah more than 10 000 people were displaced right just simply because of who they who god created them to be yes um but but not only you know did we kind of stay in that place but it also created an opportunity for us to imagine what the future looks like and how do we begin that process of rebuilding and restoring and reimagining what green woods can look like all across the country wow that's awesome you gotta think back 1921 you know black millionaires but they had their own wall street yeah it was it was the favor of god and we know the enemy was uh you know didn't like it uh and what happened there was so so tragic uh to be there even myself and and kind of read i didn't know anything about that until i had a concert in tulsa i had never been taught that growing up in texas i had never heard about the toaster ride so thank you for not only going but also helping us to remember not forget what happened because we know that's how history repeats itself when we don't remember so thank you once again i celebrate yourselves for all you're doing yeah absolutely listen i tell you no place in my dad struggled with i didn't realize was in me i thought it was kind of something wrong with me so you know i have a son he's 16 uh daughter 17. so even talking about not just my successes that they know about but also some of my failures some of my shortcomings and just helping i believe they're already better than me but they're even going to be more than what i you know i believe like pastor mike tells us that you know he gives us a seed we're supposed to make it grow yeah so if that's important to my children i believe they're gonna be so much better than me and just shout out to all the fathers out there we gonna do it big we gonna talk about the fathers because we believe uh that the enemy hates it when the fathers are involved when they're active when they're being celebrated yeah gonna preach through verses 31-35 but i want to park at 35 i believe this is what god wants to speak to us about today all right genesis 29 verse 35 is on the screen if you're streaming online here it is then she stopped having children then she stopped having children here's my topic today i want to i want to say it but i want you to type it in the stream and i want you to say it to your neighbor and to your left and to your right are you ready rock city stop stressing over that no no no don't just say it tell your neighbor stop stressing over that now i want you to get a preacher finger and point at him and tell him stop stressing over that you can be seated in the lord's house stop stressing over that i want to announce that there is an emotional epidemic that is adversely impacting most of us sitting in this space and streaming online it is an epidemic that is invisible and intangible yet is undeniable what epidemic am i talking about it's an epidemic called stress it's aggressive and in some ways it impacts absolutely everybody check this out everybody the student is stressing about taking the test while the teacher is stressing about grading it someone is stressing because they don't like their job while someone else is stressing because they can't find a job someone is stressing over the wedding while someone else is stressing over the divorce someone is stressing because they cannot find a house while someone else may be stressing because they can't sail their house someone is stressing because they cannot stop losing weight while the rest of us are stressing because we can't stop gaining weight all types of people and all types of seizings are struggling with somebody shout stress and stress if it's not anything else write this down screenshot it stress is an intoxicating emotion that affects our ability to think rationally settle emotionally and rest physically i'ma say that again stress is an intoxicating emotion that affects our ability to think rationally in other words when you're stressed you can't think clearly you're making irrational choices choices you would not have made when you were not stressed you make while you're stressed because your mind is not thinking rationally but you also cannot settle emotionally and watch this everybody you you have to be careful because sometimes you're stressed out because you're connected to unsettled emotional people y'all are not talking to me today do you have somebody online right now that's making up in your mind that you may be on an emotional roller coaster because you're connected to people who are not subtle or stable emotionally but what about rest physically so we're seeing how stress attacks our mind our emotions and ultimately our body stress is such a crazy weapon of the enemy that it attacks you in places that you can't see then it shows up in places that you can't see i'm not talking to you so you think you may have cancer based off of the food you eat when really maybe you were just a stress eater and because you were stressed you began to eat unhealthy food and the unhealthy food produced a cancer in your body when you think i need to change my diet when really you need to deal with that stress [Music] i'm not helping anybody here so so check this out everybody i want you to check this out y'all sit down y'all making me nervous 70 watch this 70 of physical diseases are caused by stress i have a nurse in the house and my life 77 out of ten physical diseases are caused by stress in june 2005 there was an article in wall street journal that suggests stress kills more people watch this everybody than smoking drinking and not exercising combined so in other words the grave is filled with people who are stressed out and i don't know who i'm preaching to in this in this sacred space called rock city today but i want to declare over your life that you're too blessed to be stressed somebody type that in the chat i'm too blessed to be stressed jesus did not just come to save me from my sins he also came to deliver me from my stress do i have anybody that's made up in your mind that i refuse to be stressed when i'm living in a pandemic already dealing with racial injustice i'm too blessed stop stressing over that stop stressing over that stop stressing over who don't like you and who won't support you stop stressing over that when god said i will never leave you nor forsake you i cannot stress over what i can't control check this out because here it is however i got good news for everybody here it is god sent me here to let you know that he wants to put your stress under arrest y'all are not heaven church he sent me here to tell you that he wants to put your stress under arrest the bible does not specifically use the word stress but it does use words like anxious anxiety to describe stressful states and paul says in philippians 4 and 6 do not be anxious i'm about to run out of here i'm gonna reword that do not be stressed out about some things what what does the text says about what but in every situation by prayer stop could it be that you're stressed because you're not praying because paul gives us the solution to stress he says do not be stressed out or anxious about anything but in every situation by prayer petition with thanksgiving present your request to god and here's the result of prayer here's what most people don't realize here's the result of prayer here it is verse seven and the peace of god see see you looking for peace by getting what you want in a relationship by getting more money by getting a new house by getting a new car when i'm telling you if you just sit down and learn how to pray the peace of god not peace with god the peace of god not peace with god the peace of god y'all not having touch with me what's the difference between the peace with god versus the peace of god peace with god means we are incompetent we're on the same page we're on the same team the peace of god means i can be in the midst of hell but i'm in control i can be experienced as attacks from the enemy but i will be steadfast unmovable all things can be going wrong on the outside but i got peace on the inside and the peace of god which transcends all understanding god is about to give some of you peace that don't even make sense when you should be breaking down throwing in the town ready to quit about to lose your mind god is saying in this season of your life don't ask me for stuff ask me why do i need peace because paul says peace is a bodyguard he says and the peace of god which transcends all understanding will guard your heart and your mind maybe there's a mental health crisis in america and in the church because we don't have the peace of god we have the peace of the world just because you have peace don't mean you have his peace even jesus looked at his disciples when he came back and he said my peace i leave with you see most people have confused culture's peace with christ's peace you think just meditating and doing yoga exercises is going to give you peace when that's going to give you silence that's not going to give you peace peace is when you are in the midst of chaotic loud crazy situations and god has said peace be still it's when you're in the middle of a storm and it's dark and it's cloudy and jesus is in the middle of it with it and say peace some of you need to look at half the hell that's been jumping off in your life and speak to your hell and not talk about your health and say peace be because it guards we need to talk about that your heart and your mind sometimes you're going crazy over stuff because you're pursuing the problem instead of the peace and check this out y'all said i need to teach this because here it is this sounds simple but why would paul tell us not to be overwhelmed by anxiousness why would paul say don't be anxious about anything here's a thought could it be he's telling us this because god if he's anything else he's a strategist i didn't get the amens i thought i would get uh on the stream right now type a man uh because they went silent on me because i knew that most of the time we want to shout because god is a healer god is a deliverer god is a savior he's a keeper he's a lawyer in the courtroom a doctor in a sick room a friend when you're a mother hello i got to say mother to the motherless but here's another shout god is a strategist in other words god doesn't just make good promises he has good plans he does not just make good promises he has good plans god is a strategist can i prove it noah had a flood problem and god gave him a strategy moses had a red sea problem and god gave him a strategy joshua had a jericho wall problem and god gave him a strategy we had a sin problem and god gave us a strategy salvation is a strategy for an unsolvable problem but sometimes we're going to god for a solution when god said i'm not going to give you the answer but i will give you the strategy because if you work the strategy i'll make you the solution are you hearing me today i want to preach to somebody right now who is looking for answers from god when god has said i'm going to make you the answer maybe you can't find the answer in other people and other places and other things because he said if you work what i gave you i'll raise you up to be a moses to lead my people out of bondage i'll raise you up to be an esther to deliver my people out abundance am i preaching to anybody in this room and online today that while you're looking for a solution god has already given you the strategy he's given you the strategy everything you need you already have he's given you the strategy and look at this because what if i told you watch this everybody that maybe you think i'm being too deep when i say god is a strategy but my grandmama would have said why you trying to figure it out he already work it out somebody shout work it out telephone disconnect somebody stop working there waiting on my next paycheck somebody shall work it out the text says what if i told you that stress not only makes you sick stress also makes you blind that many of us we're in this blessed series here with pastor mike here at rock city many of us are blessed but can't see it because we're stressed because stress won't steal your blessing it'll just rob you of your enjoyment of your blessings are y'all hearing me so you'll be blessed and stressed at the same time are y'all hearing me so check this out because here it is this is the case in our text today all of that was my intro now let's go to work because in our text we meet a sister who's suffering in silence on a search for fulfillment she's blessed but stressed look at verse 31 let's go to word look at it it's right there on the screen when the lord saw that leah was not loved he enabled her to conceive but rachel remained childless verse 32 leah became pregnant and gave birth to a son she named him what ruben for she said it is because the lord seen my what misery y'all missed it surely my husband will love me now god blessing her all alone but she wants to receive the blessing from somewhere else y'all not talking to me and watch this everybody verse 33 she conceived somebody shot again she blessed on blessed on blessed she conceived again and when she gave birth to a son she she said because the lord heard that i am not loved he gave me this one too look at this so she named him simeon again here it is this is where we're gonna park at we're gonna have a little bit of church i feel freedom happening when she gave birth to a son she said now at last this is not the one we're going to shout out now at last my husband will become attached to me because i have borne him three somebody shot three three sons so she named him levi let's do work deductively because you have to understand the context of this is jacob is on the run from his brother who he stole the blessing and the birthright from right you remember that on last week i think pastor hollis began to talk about this whole this whole war between two brothers jacob and esau so jacob is now on the run based off of dysfunctional and deception of his character now he's on the run you got to be careful because whenever god wants to change your life he'll send a person and whenever the enemy wants to change a life he'll send a person so when people show up in your life you have to ask the question who sent you because jacob shows up on the scene and we preach about jacob and we love jacob when real really the story of jacob is how god is trying to transform israel that's inside of jacob because jacob was born in deception he was a trickster he was jacked up but god says there's a you and you that you have not even met yet and watch this everybody he says i still love you even when you don't look like me i still love you even when you messing up women's lives i still love you but i'm not gonna allow joy watch this dysfunction to tear down my daughter what am i talking about he wanted to marry rachel but he got deceived by rachel's father and had to marry leah remember he went to the wedding he shows up at the wedding they go to the honeymoon and he's making love to his wife he was like man this was incredible mary i can wait to marry you he lifts up the veil and like this is not what i asked for this is not what i asked for do i have anybody that's streaming online or sending this room that has ever been in the season to where you got something that you wanted but it was not exactly what you asked for i mean you got the marriage but you did not ask for the stress that came with it you got the job but it was not the drama that came with it you got the house but it was not the roofing issues and the plumbing issues that came with it this is not what i asked for so he feels deceived and i just told you his name literally means deceiver what do you do when you reap what you've been sowing in other people are y'all talking to me today that sometimes you cannot be mad when you reap seeds that you sold in another season that sometimes you have to allow god to do a you on you y'all not hearing me that sometimes maybe god is using rachel and leo's father to deceive jacob because the only way jacob could run back to god and be transformed into israel is if he experienced how he treated other people and check this out because here it is in the midst of all of that he's mad this is not what i asked for but leah is laying there rejected you got to be careful who you reject because what if i told you god is attracted to who people reject god here's a tweet alert god loves to use who people abuse god loves to use who people abuse now watch this everybody because here it season i'm about to write out this church because she named him reuben but she labeled her season misery watch this she said leo became pregnant and gave birth to a son she named him ruben for she had said it is because the lord has seen my misery named him reuben named him misery had another son named him simeon but labeled the season rejection had another son named him levi but labeled the season loneliness whatever you're going through be careful what you call it i feel like preaching here it is put the seatbelt on because whatever you label a season will determine your life in it y'all not having church with me i'ma say that again whatever you label or season will determine your life in it maybe you're living in pain because you spoke it maybe they make you sick because you kept saying you make me sick maybe you're exhausted and wore out because you kept saying i just can't get a break be careful what you label a season because it will determine your life in it life is not about what happens to you life is more so about the story that you tell yourself see all of us have an inner narrative that we repeat over and over and if you're not careful you'll allow that narrative to become your reality to where you're blessed but blind because you allow stress to blind you from your blessing y'all hearing me this girl is blessed with three beautiful sons that will change the world but she's blind to enjoy it initially because she's stressed over her marriage not working out and i want to argue what if leah isn't mad at jacob but she's mad at her daddy she didn't have a choice to get into marriage so maybe she's projecting some of these issues on jacob because of what her father didn't give her when she was growing up see sometimes you have to have understanding to realize wherever there's fruit there's a root maybe this type of behavior did not birth in the marriage maybe it was developed when she was being raised by a daddy so maybe she's labeling these seasons of misery because of the misery she had growing up as a daughter maybe she had rejection from her father because maybe she didn't look like her sister rachel maybe she's experiencing loneliness because she was not valued at home and check this out everybody this is what's so good because it didn't stop right there see that's not how oh i got a baptist church in here today that's not how the story ends because four babies later she gave birth again watch this everybody verse 35 that's my easter speech right there here it is she conceived again i feel like preaching to somebody because i just i almost had a praise break over that one word again because the devil thought you would lay down but he didn't realize that you would keep getting back up and producing again he thought you would give up and not try again but you will not be trapped by your trauma somebody shout again write the book again pursue the business again try to trust somebody again believe god somebody shot again she conceived again and when she gave birth to a son she said this time i feel like preaching right here this time watch this instead of complaining this time instead of being frustrated this time type and attack this time i will praise the lord watch this so she named him judah i thought i had i thought i was at rock city you don't even realize judah means praise i'm i guarantee leah is giving birth and she's thinking about i gave birth to ruben i didn't get what i wanted they didn't love me they rejected me i gave birth to simeon i still was rejected and miserable i gave birth to levi he left me out here by myself and was hanging out with rachel but this time can't nobody do me like the lord as she began to praise god watch this everybody because judah name literally means praise why is this a blessing because praise attracts god's presence into our situation y'all not hear me praise attracts god's presence into our situation if god has i'm sorry if the enemy has not attacked anything in the body of christ during this pandemic it's our worship see many of us are more comfortable praising god in a building outside of your house but what if god was using this pandemic i'm not saying he caused it but what if he allowed this to happen to tap into your private praise see she's not praising god from pleasure she's praising god from a deep place of pain pastor mike once said that praise without pain is just a performance see some people are looking at you praise god and think you're crazy and they're judging you but you don't know how much this prayer has cost me i'm gonna give you 30 seconds right now in the room and online to give god a praise from a painful place think about all the hell you went through think about who walked out on you think about the tears that you cried and praise them i don't just praise them when i'm up i praise them when i die praise them not just for the mountain praise them for the ballot praise them for the pits this has to be a real praise that'll make a woman praise god in the delivery rules see it's not just about the past pain even the present pain she knows i'm birthing greatness that what i'm birthing is judah and jesus would come through the bloodline of judah see this is why you got to praise god not just for your past pain but also for what you're birthing because what you're birthing is going to be able to change a whole generation you have to be careful when you allow the enemy to mute your praise open up praise is not just a weapon praise is a principle praise is not just a weapon praise is a principle praise is what they use in uh uh therapeutic industries reframing praise helps you reframe how you see something so in other words before you appraising you saw how big your problem was but when you praise it reframes your mindset and you see how big your god is y'all are not heaven church see sometimes you need to learn how to praise god not because the preacher is telling you to but sometimes you have a mindset problem and when you praise god this time it's gonna change the way you see something somebody ought to praise god and say this time when i praise god he may not change my situation but he's about to change the way i see it i see it differently i see it differently i see it differently and here it is she names him judah and verse 35 says then she stopped having children let's get ready to close out right here because i want everyone to see this there's nothing wrong with having children children are a blessing from god but she's showing us how sometimes you can be doing it from the wrong place you can be doing the right thing from a wrong place and watch this everybody i want you to see this because the strategy that god gave her was a emotional health strategy a strategy for emotional stress this is a huge issue for many people and one of the major reasons for stress and i believe the strategy she worked in her story is going to help us in our story so check this out everybody number one the first strategy she replied was she had to stop doing the right things in the wrong season she had to stop doing the right things in the wrong season because because sometimes you can't be doing the right thing at the wrong time sometimes you can be being a wife in the season when you're just a girlfriend you're giving them too much sometimes you can be giving some someone too much too soon right then long season and there are four seasons in life you know the four seasons in life right winter summer spring f that's an earth i'm talking about in life though can i give you my four seasons of life you have your becoming season you have your birthing season you have your building season and you have your breaking season see if if you're not careful i'm gonna say this again four seasons in life here it is a becoming season who am i becoming because if god has you in a becoming season and you're trying to birth something you'll miss out on what god was trying to do in you because you were so thirsty for what you wanted god to do for you i'm in a becoming season or a birthing season now that you have become god says now you're ready to birthday you can birth that ministry you can birth that business you can birth that marriage you can birth that child you're ready to to birth you're ready for more because now that you have become you have the capacity to birth are you hearing me even in physiologically a woman cannot give birth to a child a girl cannot give birth to a child until her body becomes fully developed so it is in the natural it is in the spirit sometimes we're trying to birth things when we're still spiritual children you're too immature to try to birth that or build this season now that your birthday god wants to give you the shoulders to build it he put nehemiah in the season of becoming that he birthed the dream in him because nehemiah took the time to become a man of character integrity the king trusted him watch this his assignment was not to go and birth something it was to go and build something see sometimes we don't realize there's a difference between birthing it and building it see some people are called a birth other people are called a build are y'all hearing me see everyone does not have the nurturing pastoral shepherding gift to be a birther but some of us have that apostolic edge to be a builder but outside of building birthing and becoming this is the season we don't like talking about what is that a break-in season well sometimes god has to break your heart in order to blow your mind sometimes that relationship didn't work out because god had to break something not just the relationship he had to break something at you here's why i feel like shouting because jesus did a great miracle with two fish five loaves of bread he he blessed it but he also broke it then he gave it y'all not having church with me as long as it was one piece it can only reach a few amount of people it was when he broke it that it was multiplied see this is why you need to learn how to praise god for your breaking season because when he breaks things he breaks them to release it to do even more to go further to go higher to become stronger to make more of an impact somebody said god thank you for breaking me he had to break it number one stop doing the right things in the wrong seasons i gotta say this this is why you have to discern what season of life you're in am i in a becoming birthing building or breaking season why is this important because every season of your life will determine the seats in your life just because certain people were sitting in certain seats in one season don't mean they'll be in the same seat in the next season not only did she stop doing the wrong thing the right things in the wrong season number two you have to stop doing the right things for the wrong reason she was birthing children but from the wrong reasons she wanted a husband to be something that only god could be reason what motivates me to do what i'm doing the most see god does not look at the out appearance he looks at the heart motive and if you don't understand motives you always struggle with an identity crisis if you don't know why you're doing something you'll never know who you are ah reasons reap results now here it is because you have to be able to discern this write this down motives move the reason why you were doing something before won't always be the same reason why you do it motors move and don't be married to your motives be faithful to your assignments so you need to number one stop doing the right things in the wrong season number two stop doing the right things for the wrong reason last but not least number three stop doing the right things for the wrong people because your gift changes other people's life but it is your wisdom that changes your life see you need wisdom to discern who's the right and wrong people you need wisdom because if you're not careful you you will become a people pleaser and when it's time to change dynamics and boundaries in a season with relationship you'll stay longer than you need to stay but stress is often the result of relying on yourself more than you rely on god and today i want to challenge everybody online and in this room that maybe god is calling us to a place to where we become more god-reliant than self-reliant stop stressing over that because stress is about you trying to be in control trying to hold control over something that you've never had control over in the first place you're being hallucinated of thinking you're in control when god has said no you're not i am and watch this everybody stop stressing over fill in the blank this week what is it you need to stop stressing over is it your future is it your career what is it you're stressing over father right now i pray for each and every individual under the sound of my voice who may have been stressed out who may have been overwhelmed who may not know what you're doing they may not be able to discern the season of life that they may be in god i ask not only do we eliminate stress so that we don't become sick physically spiritually emotionally or mentally but also that we don't no longer live blind help us to be blessed full of joy full of peace that surpasses our understanding that there's someone right now who wants to give their heart to you they want to be saved repeat after me wherever you are in your room on your job in your car maybe you're working out you're on a treadmill and you're listening to this message repeat after me father forgive me for i am a sinner i believe that your son jesus died on the cross to save me from my sins holy spirit come
