[Music] what's up everyone it's me alone I hope you're doing all right starfields embargo has finally lifted I've released my review so where to next well I thought it would be a good idea to do a leveling and skills guide for the game I'm going to tell you everything you need to know about leveling the star field give you some basic tips and pointers and then go through every single skill including all the challenges attached to those skills now keep in mind this is more of a beginner's guide video I haven't been able to test every single skill out there because we didn't have that much time with the game during the Embargo period but I can still give you some pointers based on my experience playing the game so if you enjoy this video if you find it helpful please do like it I would really appreciate it subscribe for more star filled content but with that out of the way let's get right into it alrighty welcome to the skills menu in Starfield here of course you have all the skills available in the game and you'll be able to select new skills here or rank up existing skills once you have the skill points to do so in total there are 82 skills in the game across 5 to different categories physical social combat Science and Tech as an initial tip you will be using skills across all the categories they are all useful in some way don't just focus on one category so how does it work obviously like with any other bgs game when you do stuff in the game like kill an enemy complete a quest Etc you'll get experience points when you get enough you'll level up and you'll get a skill point to use as I mentioned with that skill point you can either select a skill that you don't yet have selected like boxing or stealth or weightlifting here anything that has a great icon you don't yet have or if you have as skill selected and you've completed the challenge attached to the rank that is active with that skill then you'll be able to allocate a skill point here and move up to the next rank alright so that's what you want to do if you have a skill that you really like or is really powerful you want to complete the challenges and then use your skill points to rank up and get the better bonuses as you can see the Buffs and the bonuses get better as you get to rank two three and then eventually form so if you really like the skill you want to eventually get to rank four but sometimes the bonuses aren't like uniform like for ranks one to three here it's pretty much you just get more oxygen available but then Range four sprinting and power attacks now use significantly less oxygen a lot of these skills are like that where they're not just the same bonus just increasing each time there are different ones through each of these ranks so make sure you read them to see if you actually want to use the skill point and and rank up through the tiers so that's generally how it works as I mentioned that's what you need to do with challenges but keep in mind when it comes to challenges challenges do not progress until you've selected the skill or the rank attached to that skill so let's look at boxing for instance right I don't have boxing selected so whatever the challenges attached to boxing and I'll show you now kill 20 enemies with an unarmed attack before selecting this even if I killed enemies with an unarmed attack that challenge would not progress so even if I kill 20 enemies and then selected boxing it wouldn't automatically be completed I would need to select boxing first like I've done then and then I can kill 20 enemies with an unarmed attack and then once it's completed I'll be able to select it and go to the next rank the same goes with the other ranks you cannot progress through rank two three four even if you've completed this challenge already and you're continuing to kill unarmed enemies until you've selected the rank attached to it right so let's say you've completed rank one you've completely killed 20 enemies and then you allocate a skill point and then you get to rank two and then you complete the challenge attached to rank two so that's how it works and that's why later in the video I'll tell you that you need to allocate your skill points immediately so you ensure you're not wasting time and you're actually actively completing challenges all the time okay so that's how challenges work now when it comes to these skill uh these skills in each category you can't immediately select the skills that are available in advanced or an expert or in master as you can see they're all locked let me go to one that's completely blank initially you can select any of these starting skills I think this is just called the beginner category or something like that but I can't select any of these they are locked because I need to spend four more points in this category specifically in Social to be able to use these skills and select them and then the next one in expert I need to spend eight skills from a skill points where I am now to be able to select these ones and remember it's skill points in the category specifically if I spend skill points here that's not going to help me progress through this particular category so it's always this category and again Master you need to spend 12 points overall so once you've spent four in the category and you get to Advanced you need to spend another four to get to expert and then another four after that to get to master so that is how it works and I'll give you some tips when it comes to that later on now as you can see I've started a brand new game and I had already had three skills selected I had Fitness I had ballistics and I had boost pack training that's because when you select a background in the game you will get three starting skills out of the bat right so as a and I'll tell you the tip later but obviously you want to make sure you selecting the correct background so you're getting some proper skills and the problem is the game doesn't tell you quite what the skills are when you're selecting the backgrounds you have to wait till after so it's kind of confusing so watch this video and make sure you know what the skills are now if you wanted to select the base version of all of these skills like all of them just rank one you'll need to get to level 80 and spend 79 skill points right that is the only way to select them all if you want to rank max out all of these skills Rank 4 in every skill in every category you need to get to level 326 and spend 325 skill points so and that's including the starter skills getting you ready to rank rank one so if you want to Max it out you've got a long long time it's going to take you forever to get to level 326 but that is how it works very roughly now let's go through some tips and some pointers what are some things that you should be doing just based on my experiences playing the game first of all most importantly please plan your build please please please plan your build nukes and Dragons is probably going to update their their Builder with all of these uh skills and challenges attached to them so you can plan your build and you know exactly where you're going the reason why I say that is twofold and I mentioned this in my review number one leveling slows down so much when you get to level 30 40 and Beyond so if you keep wasting skill points you are going to be waiting and waiting and waiting to level up again and get more skill points to spend them in the skills that you actually like so do not waste skill points and skills that you think will just be fun or whatever make sure you read guides make sure you read up on what the community is saying because we haven't tested all of these out to their full extent as well make sure you plan your build so you are not wasting skill points okay plus as well number two there is no respecting in the game I've yet to find a way to respect again I don't know if there's some random dude on an off planet that allows you to respect I don't think that exists so because respecting isn't a thing once you've spent a skill point that's it you you can't undo it you can't undo it if you don't like the skill or if it's not good enough right so please do plan your build you're gonna Thank Me Later use nukes and Dragons they're like just Google nukes and dragon Starfield you'll be able to use their their Builder and make sure that you have the awesome build that you want and you're progressing through that without any wastage whatsoever number two as I mentioned when you pick your background don't just pick the background that sounds cool I know it's I know it you might want to do it because you're role-playing I know playing as a bounty hunter might be really cool or whatever but the problem is if the background that you've selected has some really crappy starting skills you're gonna have to level up three more times to get the other skills that you thought were even better right so make sure when you're going through the backgrounds you're seeing the starting skills and selecting the background that actually gives you good starting skills one might be bad right two might be bad but make sure three all three aren't bad I know that it like selecting a background also gives you some cool dialogue characters in the world will be able to say hey you're a bounty hunter you're a soldier or whatever but if the starting skills are bad you're just wasting more more skill points as I mentioned you're gonna have to level up to catch up now the initial leveling up three times won't matter but you'll always be three levels behind is the way that I Envision it so make sure that you you pick the best background for you and as I mentioned you won't know what the starting really the starting skills are and the booster they give you until after you select your background so make sure you watch this video uh so you know all of them as there's some examples if you select Bounty Hunter you'll get piloting targeting Control Systems boost pack training if you select Explorer you'll get lasers astrodynamics and surveying Ronin is dueling stealth and Scavenging so all these backgrounds Give You Different starting skills some do overlap mind you but again just make sure you're picking the one that's best for you now when it comes to allocating skill points and when you get them I would suggest immediately allocating a skill point when you get it the reason being is that as I mentioned you can't progress through any of these challenges until you've either selected the skill to get through rank one or once you've selected rank two three and four right you need to have it active to be able to complete the challenge so if you are hoarding skill points and then you're like I've got five or ten skill points to spend you won't be able to just max out stealth you'll have to wait until you've selected that skill and then perform 10 sneak attacks before you can go to Rank 2 and then the next challenge will have more sneak attacks that you need to do to get to two three and four you're better off just spending the skill point so then as you play normally you're naturally progressing to the challenge and then you can immediately once you level up again go to rank two and go to rank three and go to rank four if you aren't doing that then you're just like again hoarding skill points and you're not completing any of these challenges and then it's just gonna it's just wasted time it's gonna take you a little bit longer some of these challenges are very very quick to finish I'm not going to lie to you but others are a little bit longer so I would recommend that you allocate your skill points immediately especially if you plan to build you know where you want to spend them right so make sure you do that now as I as I said these ladder categories are locked until you spend a certain number of skill points please please do not just randomly spend a skill point to just get to the next category it is a really bad mistake again make sure you are spending don't just like for instance in this one if I want to get to the next category I'll just spend one on theft one on Scavenging one on persuasion one on Gastronomy because that's probably quicker because you don't have to complete through any of the challenges to select the base skills right and that'll get you to the next category but those skills might be crap you don't know like you might not like them it is better to ensure that if you really like Commerce for instance because it allows you to buy and sell better then you want to make sure you rank up completely through Commerce and then once you do then you'll be able to go to the next category and then you have a really really good skill that you actually use and then you'll be able to select Advanced skills so make sure that you do that don't just select all four to get you to the next category it is a bad idea and you you will regret it and then there are a lot of skills in this game which are I would say tied to core features that are either fun or you might be used to from previous Bethesda game studios games so let's go through a few examples stealth you can Stealth In the game without the stealth school won't be as good but you can do it but what you can't see is a stealth meter until you've activated this skill so unless you select stealth and you try and sneak you won't see a stealth meter and it becomes so hard to sneak around and Stealth In the game so make sure if you want to see a stealth meter you select stealth the next one is uh where is it gymnastics if you want to use the combat slide make sure to select gymnastics because then you won't be able to use the combat slide it's a neat little feature it's not like the best thing in the world but some people might like to slide around in the game so make sure that you do that next up we have Thief wherever it is theft you can't pickpocket until you selected Thief so or theft so make sure that you select this if you want to actually pick pocket in the game the most important one by far boost pack training you cannot use boost packs until you select the skill and you're going to want to because it makes combat an exploration so so so much more fun so make sure you select boost pack otherwise your packs in the game are completely useless all right next up we have piloting piloting allows you to use your ship thrusters you're going to want to use your ship thrusters so make sure that you select that as at least rank one I'm not saying with all these skills you have to progress through them but at least select the base skill especially if they fall in a background that already has them then make sure you do that too and then the last one that I wanted to highlight is targeting Control Systems this allows you to Target individual systems when you're engaging in spaceship combat so for instance you can't steal a ship unless you have this active because the weight is still a ship is by destroying a spaceship's engines and once the engine is destroyed then you can dock the ship and then you can steal the ship and kill everyone on board right and you can't do that without this skill so make sure you have targeting Control Systems activated as soon as possible there are some others that some people would say are like fundamental features that you really do need to enjoy the game even more I would say those are the main ones so those are all my tips I hope those that was enjoyable and helpful for you but now we're literally going to go through every single skill in the game I'm going to tell you roughly what they do I'm not going to verbatim say every single rank that's going to take forever but I'll go through them quickly and I'll tell you the challenges that are attached to them as you can see I have a bunch of skill points I'll just select them as we go so you can see the challenges number one boxing rank 1 unarmed attacks do 25 more damage and 25 percent less oxygen used when using a power attack and then as you get a little bit better you're unarmed attacks to 100 more damage and you have a chance to knock down opponents so if you want to use unarmed attacks you make sure you select boxing and the way you progress is by killing enemies with unowned attacks rank 1 is 20 and then rank two three four five will go up oh sorry just refer to four we'll go a little bit it'll be like 12 30 or kill 40 something like that as you progress through next up we have Fitness you have 10 more oxygen available at the at rank three you have 30 and then rank four sprinting and power attacks now use significantly less oxygen so there is an oxygen system in the game when you sprint in the game or use power attacks you'll use oxygen if you use too much much oxygen you'll start to build up your CO2 meter when your CO2 meter builds up too much you'll start to actually lose health so I would say this skill is actually pretty good if you want to make sure you have more oxygen in the game so you can keep running and keep running pretty decent skill I would actually recommend this one stealth make sure you get the base one because it adds a stealth meter a bare minimum even if you want to experiment with stealth make sure you do that and then also you are more difficult to detect when snaking 25 and suppressed weapons do an additional five percent snake attack damage so if you want to use suppressed uh weapons make sure you do this rank two actually upgrades the stealth meter and then when eventually you get to ring four you are a hundred percent more difficult to detect when snaking suppressed weapons do even more damage doors you interact with and stealth no longer alert enemy so if you want to Stealth In the game this is fundamental and the way you progress to the challenges is by performing sneak attacks next up we have a weight lifting the most important skill in the game I would say you keep getting more carry capacity and then by the end you have a hundred plus more uh carry capacity and resistance to stagger staggering happens a fair bit in combat so this is actually pretty good aside from obviously the obvious benefit of getting more carrier capacity most important skill in the game you're going to be looting a lot make sure you get this if you want to rank up you need to Sprint for a certain number of meters while you're at 75 or more of your load capacity this one's very easy to complete because as soon as you're at 75 or more you just keep running and it's very very simple so weightlifting is very important Wellness increase your maximum health by 10 20 30 and then 40 and the way you progress It Is by healing ear damage so this is one of the ones as I mentioned um you want to make sure you allocate the point so when you're in combat and you and you're getting hurt you can heal and it progresses to this challenge I wouldn't say Wellness is too useful the only reason why I say that is because increasing your maximum health I say is not as important as increasing how effective your healing items are because when you just have maximum health and you go into combat eventually you're going to lose that and if your healing items don't heal you that fast I don't heal you enough you're going to be spending so many healing items to get back up to this maximum health so Wellness is is good if you want to be a tank but I would actually say that other skill is better so if you want to do it though you can next up pain tolerance reducing physical damage by 5 10 15 and then at the end five percent chance to ignore physical damage when your health is low so if you want to play as a bloodied build you can but five percent chance to ignore physical damage is nothing I I don't even know if that would be any good if you want to progress you need to take a certain number of points of physical damage I would say this is a pretty decent um skill if you're playing especially at higher uh difficulties and you want to reduce your physical damage that's going to be a way to do that next up food and drink are 10 more effective 20 30 and then 50. food and drink can actually be useful if you want to use them instead of healing items though I found that I just like getting healing items and you're getting a decent number of uh I keep saying caps decent number of credits in the game because you're essentially building them to be able to use the shipbuilder so buying healing items is actually not so bad if you do want to loot food and drink and use them and be more effective with them I would say do it but I don't think this skill is all that important but it does make it more effective so if the food and drink actually provides you with different benefits actually that could be good depending on the item in question so maybe keep an eye out for that all the other boosts that these food and I drink items give you and if you want to progress you consume a certain number of food and drink items next up gymnastics ability to combat slide you take less fall damage less 4 damage is useless because if you can use your Boost pack you just use your Boost pack before you land and you're not going to take full damage really so I would say that that's useless moving faster in crog there's not that many cr-g uh situations in the game at least the ones that I encountered there might be more in side quests and stuff become more stable when firing in zero g again I don't know how useful that is unless four damage replenish some O2 after mantling then you have an increased jump height you run faster after combat sliding or mantling I don't think gymnastics is that good you can have a power boost back to make you jump really high without this anyways so yeah I don't think gymnastics is that good if you do want to progress the challenge you need to take four damage which is silly if you're taking less phone damage anyway uh gymnastics I don't think is that good environmental conditioning you have a certain resistance to everyone environmental damage then thermal then corrosive radiation and then you have a reduced chance to gain afflictions from environmental damage sources this can actually be useful if you're exploring a lot of planets though your spacesuit can help you in this regard too but if you don't want to use this you just have eight items on hand to help you counteract the the damage that you're receiving from all of these sources so that's fine but if you want to progress you take a certain number of environmental damage next up energy weapon dissipation energy weapon damage is reduced by a certain number and then eventually you get a 25 chance to reduce energy damage back to an attacker when your health is below 50 don't know how good that re uh bounding is but reducing energy damage can actually be decent if a lot of enemies are using laser weapons or other energy-based weapons so I see this one could actually be pretty decent and to progress the challenge you need to take a certain number of energy damage Next Up Cellular regeneration slightly increased chance to recover from injuries so like if you fall from a height you might sprain yourself and that actually has negative consequences for your character then eventually you have a better chance of recovering from injuries naturally and Rank 4 20 chance of not getting an injury when you otherwise would um decent skill but you can again use eight items to help you or even if you're hurt in combat you just go to a doctor and that that'll heal you anyway so not fundamentally important but if you want to progress through the challenges you need to recover from a certain number of injuries decontamination increased chance to recover from infections naturally same thing and then eventually go up where you have 20 20 chance of not gaining an infection when you otherwise would the challenge is recover from a certain number of infections again you can go to a doctor to fix this but if you want to recover from infections as you're just playing the game this might be another a nice skill to have martial arts increase crit a chance to crit with a melee or unarmed attack if you are a melee or unarmed attack player 100 you want to get this crit damage can do a little a lot of damage eventually you reflect 50 damage when blocking a melee or unarmed attack I don't know how useful that'll be and you have to deal a certain number of damage with unarmed attacks to progress the challenge next up concealment you no longer set off enemy Minds there are any new minds everywhere in this game so that could actually be useful range sneak attacks do 2.5 normal damage and your melee sneak does four times normal damage I would say this is a really important skill if you want to use stealth again running with while sneaking doesn't affect stealth even more damage when doing sneak you gain chameleon likability when completely standing still and sneaking ranged attacks do more engaging in stealth of course assistant enemies to lose you range to sneak attacks do four times normal damage completely rank this out if you want to stealth I I reckon this would be op and to progress you need to perform 10 melee or unarmed sneak attacks as you go through even more next up neuro strikes this is that cool feature that they showed where you punch an enemy into neuro strikes and I think they kind of collapse or they fly or whatever so chance to to stun enemy NPC with an unarmed attack on under attacks now do additional em damage you can 20 chance and eventually after selling an enemy you can also knock down enemy enemies within close range and then the challenge is done 10 enemies or certain number of enemies with an unarmed attack if you like using unarmed attacks this is probably a pretty cool one to get finally in physical there's going to be a long video Rejuvenation slowly regen Health outside of combat not useful to sleep in a bed you're fine uh more Health outside of combat much faster outside of combat you slowly regenerate Health in combat could be decent if you go to the to the maximum one if you regenerate Health quickly in combat it's a lot of investment to get to that point though so I wonder how useful that would be but you just get eight items or you sleep so I wouldn't get that first up and to progress fall below 25 Health a certain number of times and fully heal next up let's go through social commerce buy and sell for better eventually getting to 20 less and selling for 25 more very good because as I mentioned credits is important in the game not just for buying and selling random items and healing items and stuff but if you want to engage in the ship Builder you need a hell of a lot of credits this will get you there faster so Commerce is one that I actually completely ranked up you're going to want to get this and to Progressive the challenges you need to buy I'll sell 25 unique items this is one of those ones where it's so finicky to try and just do the challenge in one go so make sure that you select it and just do it naturally and eventually you can rank next up Gastronomy you can craft specialty food and drinks and research additional recipes at a research lab eventually you can craft gourmet food and drinks you can research and craft food and drink Delicacies and then crafting food and drinks occasionally doesn't use up resources you can research and craft exotic recipes it just depends how good these exotic recipes are and I don't know we're going to have to look at you know when they when people get to that point how good these exotic recipes are and whether they're worthwhile but if you're someone that's a completionist and wants to completely research everything again this is going to be fundamental there's no other way to do it aside from getting the skill and if you want to progress you create a certain number of food or drink items persuasion so important so important increased chance of success when persuading someone so many times through the main quests side quests fashion Quest you need to persuade people and there's the other options aren't as good you're spending credits or whatever for even for story purposes write this out completely and if you want to progress you need to succeed in certain number of speech challenges next up Scavenging you there's a chance you'll find extra credits when searching containers yeah this was fine I don't know how it would um and then an extra change you'll find ammo when searching containers extra Aid items and then tracked resources will get highlighted when using the hand scanner I think this one would be okay um and then if you want to progress you need to loot certain number of containers last we have theft if you want to pickpocket at least get rank one go through you have a better chance of pickpocketing and you can now pickpocket holstered weapons I can almost guarantee there are some unique weapons to get through this method I I reckon there would be anyway so if you want to pickpocket progress through this and the challenges are attached to actually pickpocking people a certain number of times next up negotiation access to bribery and speech challenges if you want that as an option fine but I think persuasion is going to get you through most scenarios and you're having to spend credits when you're when you're bribing So eventually you can reduce the bribery cost of cost but occasionally bribery won't cost any money I don't know how good this one is but if you want to progress to the challenge you bribe a certain number of times through persuasion isolation do weapon plus 10 weapon damage and 15 damage resistance for each spatian helmet equipped when you don't have any companion or crew I don't recommend doing this one please get a companion not only will they help you in combat they're gonna deal damage sorry obviously deal damage in combat but there's so much story and questing attached to them it's really nice having a companion and they can store items for you too it really helps all looting I I would never unless you're role playing as a solo player and I know I'm The loanbot Wanderer I would not do isolation at all intimidation you can force a Target NPC at or below your level to flee for a limited time and eventually intimidated targets now Flee for a substantial amount of time this feels gimmicky to me but if you want to do it fine and you need to successfully intimidate people to progress through the challenges diplomacy you can force a Target NPC at a better your level to stop fighting for a while this could actually be good if they're attacking you and they're pretty good at it this could actually be decent then eventually you can force Target NPCs to permanently stop fighting unless they're attacked again so maybe if you want to attack an NPC in a town then you do this and then you stop him but again maybe one of those gimmicky ones and they successfully use diplomacy on five different people deception ships are 10 stronger ships 10 stronger will automatically surrender to piracy demands enemy Contraband scans are 10 less effective this is really good when you rank it up having 50 stronger ships automatically surrender to piracy demand so if you want to steal their stuff it's way easier enemy Contraband scans getting less effective is great if you want to sell your Contraband because you make a bunch of credits through that method so make sure you you progress this one when you can and eventually like you have to convince ships to surrender this might actually affect how like how your companions react they might not like you being a pirate but I actually think this is a cool gameplay feature so yeah dude deception it sounds pretty fun uh instigating you can force the target NPC order below your level to attack their allies for a limited time so this is even better than the previous one and eventually you enemies affected by into that instigation will attack their allies until they are dead that's pretty cool yeah that's fun I would do that and then you have to successfully instigate five different people and progress through the rest of them leadership companions gain Affinity faster they have more health and more carry capacity companions will occasionally heal you when you get low health and eventually double the bonuses for combat and physical crew skills on companions companions have a chance to pick themselves up when when they're in a down state this is really good like not only if you want to romance them faster but more carry capacity is freaking awesome so I reckon leadership is one of the ones that you want to do and if you want to progress you need to Sprint a certain number of meters with an active follower our post management if you want to do Outpost building and get involved with it I recommend this but it's a late game thing so do not get it until you think you're going to use it so you can have additional cargo links placed at our post to essentially get items to go between your planets because each planet has different resources that you can mine and you might need those resources available on other planets So eventually then additional robots can be constructed you have an additional crew Outpost extractors produce twice as fast I think this is a very important late game skill that you're going to want and you Progressive the challenges need to build cargo links on certain planets I would actually probably say as well these challenges might change depending upon like the actual rank itself so I reckon instead of this one which is like build cargo links this one might be building robots and this one might be building or assigning crew or something like that that might actually be the the challenges but at least you know what what rank one is xenosociology you can force a Target alien creature up to 10 levels higher than you to stop fighting eventually alien creature to stop to flee uh you can force a Target alien creature to attack their allies and eventually force a Target creature up to 10 levels higher to obey command for a little amount of time might be a little bit gimmicky but it could be fun and you have to successfully pacify on 15 different aliens for the first Rank and eventually Beyond ship command you have four active crew members you have five six and then eight All crew members provide you with passive bonuses so this could get really good but I will tell you I'll be honest with you I don't know what half of my crew are doing when they were on my ship maybe they were helping me in combat I don't know but that's in on paper how this system is meant to operate and then you need to destroy or board five ships or it's a number of ships with a crew of two or more manipulation you can force a Target NPC at or below your level to obey commands for a limited time eventually uh it gets even better manipulated targets Now obey command for a substantial amount of time I don't know how I feel about these skills they might be good but they just say gimmicky to me maybe I'll try them I haven't experimented with them by the way so full transparency and you need to successfully manipulate people to progress with the challenges at least the first one combat all right let's let's quickly go through these ballistic weapons do more damage you need to kill with Ballistic uh ballistic weapons to to progress and then eventually it it increases your range so yeah if you're using ballistic weapons make sure you do this that's the one that I use and the probably the one that I recommend because ballistic weapons you get right off the bat if you're using melee weapons you want to use dueling because it's more damage there's less damage when you're wielding a melee weapon so this is pretty good eventually you get to the point where melee kills Hill for you to 10 in your health so you could become a dope melee user with this skill definitely use this if you want to use some swords and stuff and then to progress you have to kill enemies on the melee weapon these are all very similar by the way lasers laser weapons do more damage than eventually they have a chance to set your Target on fire there are other ways to set your Target on fire you don't need to do that by the way and setting on Fire doesn't really do much anyway So eventually at least get to rank three if you want to use laser weapons and you need to kill enemies with laser weapons pierce the certification pistols do more damage it eventually grants a critical hit chance plus 25 four five seconds I think that would be pretty good and to progress you need to kill enemies with a pistol shotgun increased damage eventually shotgun kills Grant a small amount of chance to stun additional targets with shotguns for a limited amount of time um this is a really good skill because shotguns are awesome in Starfield and to progress you need to kill enemies with shotgun so I would recommend either ballistics or shotguns in my opinion rifle next category rifles do more damage and eventually reload rifles faster while standing still oh man that why why standing still that's annoying if you want to use rifles select this uh you kill enemies with a rifle to progress particle beams particle beam weapons do more damage like those you're not getting right after the bad and that's why it's an advanced skill right but if you want to use particle beam weapons you you progress through that eventually you'll have a five percent crit chance and to progress you kill enemies with a particle being rapping cat incapacity capacitation em weapons do more damage and eventually in weapons have a 15 chance to do 300 em damage that's pretty decent and you have to deal Em damage to progress heavy weapons if you want to use heavy weapons do this they eat up ammo like it's no tomorrow so it's something you use every now and again more damage and then eventually you get free 25 physical resistance while aiming downsides with that heavy weapon it's kind of annoying but yeah that's good and you kill enemies with a heavy weapon to progress demolitions throwing grenades they have a trajectory Arc if you want to use that make sure you select it larger radius for the explosives more damage reduce damage from explosives and then eventually all previous bonuses are doubled that's insane if you want to use explosives and there's a nice range of explosives in starfields too different mines different grenades I think demolition is pretty good to progress you kill enemies with explosives unless again it differs throughout the ranks next up Marksmanship increase critical chance with non-automatic range weapons by three percent by 8 by 15 and then eventually Critical Hits using a non-automatic range weapon without a scope do double damage and those with Scopes knock back enemies on the next shot okay cool yeah if you're this might be pretty useful and then you need to deal range Critical Hits to progress next up rapid reloading reload ballistic weapons faster reload energy and EM weapons faster reload particle beam weapons faster and a chance to avoid getting interrupted while reloading oh my God getting interrupted while reloading sucks really sucks and I wish that applied to all weapons uh and then eventually chance on hitting enemies to increase relay speed for all weapons by 50 for 15 seconds usually in another way and heavier weapons aren't here usually reloading your weapons faster in Bethesda cam Studios games aren't that good because you can't just run away and reload so I don't know how useful this one would be and if you want to progress you have to reload empty magazines it doesn't say reload ballistic weapon magazine so these ones could just be related to magazines sniper certification scope weapons are steadier and have less way you can hold your breath for longer headshots while aiming with a scope weapon have 25 critical hit chance plus scope weapons do 50 more damage while using the scope and to rank up you kill weapon enemies with a scoped weapon if you want to use Scopes this one sounds pretty good to me targeting increase accuracy and range when shooting without aiming marks up to one enemy within 25 meters that damages you noticeably increased accuracy and range when shooting without aiming marks up the two enemies greatly increase accuracy marks up to three enemies 10 chance to disarm um Target hits when shooting without aiming marks up to four enemies within 100 meters that damage you it's actually pretty cool I like this one kill 50 enemies without aiming without aiming with a ranged weapon yeah I I would actually say targeting is pretty good that sounds pretty useful next up armor presentation so important oh my God ignoring armor is always good in bgs games make sure you select and max out this one that eventually enemy armor is decreased by 25 uh for six seconds after a critical hit so if you pair that together with a critical hit one obviously it would be very very powerful I would Max this one out as soon as you can uh crippling human enemies have the 30 chance increased chance to enter a down state after taking enough damage so when you're killing it or shooting out enemies they can go into a down state for a little bit and they're crawling around along the ground and then you can just go up and kill them so that one's pretty good um and enemies humanoid enemies have a 50 increased chance to not naturally recover from downstate because they can recover now they uh human enemies can now enter a downstate earlier and previous ranks apply to all enemy types maybe aliens as well and you could now do 100 more damage to down enemies so and that's not useful hold on to down enemies more damage isn't useful because they're already down so you just kill them anyway so I don't know how useful that one is um but at the very least to progress you need to put enemies into a bleed out state Sharp Shooting increase headshot critical damage by 50 with a range of weapons increase critical damage to enemy legs with ranged weapons Chris all critical damage to enemies by 50 with a range of weapons and eventually range Critical Hits uh kick kills increase your critical hit chance with all range of weapons by 25 for 20 seconds so yeah if you want to do some some headshot critical damage and all that kind of stuff this one actually sounds pretty good and you need to deal range Critical Hits to progress we're getting there science astrodynamics increased grab jump rate uh crab jump range of jump drives by 15 that is a tongue twister you reduce fuel cost of jump drives by 15 increase grab jump rage and reduce fuel cost and eventually reduce fuel cost of trump drives by 50 this one will be useful to get to certain planets that are very far away however for a lot of planets that you aren't able to make the jump you can actually like jump from to closer planets to eventually get you there it's a lot slower because you have to go into closer planets where you can usually grab drive and then you go jump jump and then get to the planet that you want but if you have this and it's all active then it's just much easier but I could imagine that maybe at the far reaches of space there is one planet that you might not be able to reach until your grab Drive is better but remember you can also improve your ship ship grab drive without increasing your skill because you can just buy a better grab drive so be careful about jumping into this one too quickly because I think you can get around it but if there is a planet that you seriously cannot reach and you don't have the credits to upgrade your grab drive and you have a spare skill point maybe use this skill oh and to progress you need to make grab Drive uh jumps and that'll that'll be like you'll do that in no time geology get more common and uncommon uh inorganic resources from service objects get more get more exotic eventually occasionally Harvest additional rare resources from surface objects if you want to get into Outpost building and you want to get a lot of these resources if you want to complete the research system and craft stuff and all that kind of stuff this one could actually be pretty useful and to progress through the challenges you need to harvest inorganic resources from 20 or a certain number of sources next up medicine Med packs trauma packs emergency kits restore 10 additional Health 5 10 faster this is the one that I was saying that's better than having more max health because this is actually going to heal you faster and be more effective within combat which is when it matters then it's even faster and more Health even faster and more Health than medpack's trauma packs and emergency kits for a door restore fifty percent additional Health 50 faster and have a chance to cure an Affliction this is a really important skill you need to progress through this one and using healing items while wounded is going to progress you through the challenges research methods if you want to complete research in the game you want to use this one because research allows you to get more Scopes it allows you to to craft more food and drinks it allows you to mod more stuff to your spacesuits and stuff so this one will be very very useful because resources required to craft items and complete research projects is reduced by a certain number of percent then eventually sudden development student research are twice as common resources required to craft items and blah blah blah is reduced by 60 sudden developments are essentially where you might suddenly get more resources when you're completing a a research challenge you'll know what I mean when you start doing them so this is actually a pretty useful skill if you don't want to find resources as much but still complete the challenge the research challenges a little bit quicker so you can get around it but I would actually say this is decent and to progress you need to craft these items food drinks drugs web mods or equipment mods surveying adds an optional Zoom to the hand scanner and scan distances increase of 20 meters 30 40 50. I don't think this is useful it does make surveying really much easier obviously and to progress you need to use the hand scanner on unique items but I don't know how useful surveying is in the game because when you survey an entire planet and some of them take forever you can sell it for like 1900 credits or barely anything so I was not a fan of surveying but someone might be able to prove me wrong but yeah I wasn't a fan of it so no I'm not a fan of that skill zoology get more resources from creatures and harvest them from them without harming them learn additional info from them from the scanner and allows you to produce animal resources at your Outpost get more resources about creatures occasionally Harvest additional rare resources from creatures and learn information about them more quickly using the scanner again if you really want to get resources this is probably going to be decent run if you're someone that's going to engage in the surveying system survey everyone get a bunch of resources use that for your Outpost this could actually be pretty useful and the way to progress is by halving harvesting organic resources from creatures remember as well you can screenshot these skills if you want and pause the video weapon engineering you can craft improved weapon mods at a workbench and research additional weapon mods and eventually you can craft Superior Cutting Edge and Master Level if you want to mod your weapons to the best of their ability you will need to rank up weaponing engineering because you cannot research ladder mods ladder components like Scopes and mags and bullets and all that kind of stuff until you get more weapon engineering so important so rank this one up when you can and to progress you need to craft weapon mods same with spacesuit design you can craft better and better spacesuit mods as you go through and construction to space in helmet and pack mods occasionally doesn't cross resources this is another one at least go to rank three and to progress you need to craft spacesuit Helmet or pack mods scanning you can detect uncommon inorganic resources on a planet Moon services and more information about ships in space you can detect a rare inorganic resources and more specific information about ships and space detect exotic inorganic resources and then eventually unique and organic resources on planet and moon surfaces and again a complete list of cargo on ships in space so this was actually decent on the cargo side it will tell you if piracy is worth doing is worth engaging in combat but again if you need a lot of those inorganic resources for the crafting and all the stuff that you're doing in the game this one could actually be pretty useful so I would I suggest this one and you need to scan planet or Moon scanning is really easy in the star map you need to fly to a planet and just scan it one button done so this one would be really easy to progress through assuming all the challenges stay the same botany get more common and uncommon organic resources from planets alone additional info about them the scanner and allow some plants to be cultivated at your outposts blah blah blah eventually occasionally Harvest additional rare resources from plants and learn information about them for more quickly using the scanner again same argument with the other ones and you progress through this one by harvesting more organic resources from Plants I'll be honest I didn't experiment with a lot of these ones about obtaining resources but that's probably why when I got to the end of the game I didn't have anything to to build my Outpost with so again if you are really wanting to get some resources these ones could actually be useful astrophysics you can now scare the moons of a current Planet you have a 10 chance to discover a trait when scanning so essentially this means is that if you're on a planet and you can see a moon I think you can just scan the planet and discover a trait which is going to help you complete the surveying faster so if you don't care about that don't get the skill but eventually you can scan any planet or Moon within 30 light years that is awesome and you have a 50 chance to discover a trait when scanning so what this means is within 30 light years without traveling to the planet you can scan them see what resources they have and I believe see points of interest on those planets as well and discover the trait without needing to do so when you're on the planet that is useful that is very useful I'm gonna get this one and next up you need to scan uh unique planets or moons so I actually like that one chemistry you can craft improved chems and research additional cams at the research lab again if you want to keep getting the better and better chems you want to get this one to rank it up eventually you can corrupt Kim's occasionally triples the amount created and you want to get The Cutting Edge chems to progress you need to create chems so this one's important if if the chems that we find later on in the game are really useful if these Cutting Edge and Superior chems are really useful and I could imagine that they are so chemistry I think would be useful Outpost engineering obviously if you want to build your Outpost this is an important one you can construct improved Outpost modules and research additional modules you can go Superior ones Cutting Edge ones and eventually Outpost modules now cost fewer resources to build if you want to engage in Outpost building for sure Max this one out completely and to progress through it you need to build uh different Outpost modules long videos special projects you can research experimental projects in a research lab you can craft rare manufactured components as an industrial workbench you can craft exotic manufacturing components in a dust your workbench you can craft unique manufactured components and outpost extractors have a chance to produce additional resources it depends how good these exotic and rare manufactured components are I don't have too much experience with them but I think some people are going to again if you want to get a lot of these items for your Outpost too this one might be important but in to progress through it you craft common or uncommon manufactured component planetary habitation you can build outposts on planets with extreme temperatures there are a few I say a few there are a lot of plants with extreme temperatures that are cool that you might want to build on because I have the cool resources and you can only do that when you have this particular skill so I would say that's important and then extreme pressure and increase the number of Max maximum number of outposts you can build by eight so if you really want to build a lot of outposts eventually after 16 make sure you rank this up and you can build outposts on planets with extreme gravity they will come up I'm telling you right now you will be more limited without this skill in terms of where you want to build your Outpost and it does matter so if you want to get into our Base building do this one and if you want to progress you build habitable outposts on different planets finally and a neutronic fusion ship reactors produce one extra unit of power two extra units three and five oh this is so important so the whole ship out power allocation system in the game when you're engaging in combat you need to shift your your ship's power to different components to do certain things better so if you just fast traveled or grab jump somewhere and someone's attacking you you need to reduce power in your grab drive and increase your weapons and your Shield so you can do combat a little bit better if you need to fly to an enemy faster you need to reduce other things and increase your engine so you fly faster and the only other way I believe to increase the number of power that you have is by improving your reactor those can be expensive those are sometimes blocked behind certain skills I believe like you can't purchase some reactors without getting the other skill in the next category I'll show you so this will just help you have more units of power to engage with the combat the power allocation system in combat and it's so finicky more points the better very very important skill and to progress you destroy ships finally we're at sick ballistic weapon systems ballistic ship weapons have increased damage and costs less to use in targeting mode gets better gets better eventually you do 50 more damage to individual systems important important for ship combat ballistic weapons are ones you'll be using a lot to progress you need to deal so number of damage two ships with Ballistic weapons this one's really important I reckon you get this actually a lot of the skills in Tech are very important I love this skill tree or this category boost back training you can utilize boost packs that use less fuel they generate fuel more quickly and doubles previous bonuses at least get one you'll get fine through you'll find in the game without the other ones but if you want to get a little bit better with Boost packing you do it eventually you just need a boost jump 10 times or a certain number of times within combat you'll complete that very easily just get rank one at bare minimum uh piloting you can utilize ship thrusters as I mentioned make sure you get this make sure you get Rank 2 because turning rate maneuverability sucks without the skill you can get a pilot Class B and class c ships they will come later in the game so I actually think this is a pretty important skill that you're going to want to you're going to want to use and to progress you need to destroy a certain number of ships security a hacking Advanced lock and you can stack up more Auto attempts Auto attempts are really useful when it comes to digi picking in the game because sometimes you get confused and you don't know which shapes to use and you have to waste a lot of Gigi picks so stacking up Auto attempts helps you get started and eventually you can do expert locks and you can stack up more Auto attempts Rings now turn blue when The Pick can be slotted that's really useful Master Level and more Auto attempts and then you could spend a ditchy pick to eliminate keys that aren't required to solve the puzzle five Auto attempts this will make Digi picking so much easier it comes up a lot any door any computer terminal any container that needs to be opened it's Digi picking so security is really important and you keep picking locks to progress really like that one targeting control at least rank 1 to use the targeting functionality only way to to steal ships progress time to lock onto enemy shifts is reduced by 15 locking on is a little bit slow without this so I say that's useful the target locked ships fight you slower so when you're in targeting mode they still fire at you so it makes it slower time to lock into enemy shifts is reduced by 30 increased chance of critically hitting a Target locked ship really good and then time to lock on an enemy ship is reduced even more and you deal increased system damage and targeting mode really useful one I love this one and you destroy enemy shifts while in targeting mode to progress it next up Shield systems Shields have increased fuel capacity I will hold up and then the last one is Shields occasionally resist 100 of all damage this one is the problem with this one is that Shield regeneration is slow so even if your Shield capacity is at 100 percent when you enter combat once it goes to zero it's not doing you much so if you can get around that if you can kill the enemies fast enough it doesn't matter what your Shields are but also keep in mind as well even though your Shield has increased Shield capacity you also need to invest enough power points into the shields for to be able to utilize all this increased capacity that you have so don't go crazy with this unless you find it actually really useful and Rank 4 we need to test to see if it's actually good and to progress you need to take Shield damage payloads cargos have more capacity 50 yes please do this looting is so important in the game as I mentioned and you're going to be storing a lot of stuff at your on your companions at your outposts are now on your ships really important and to progress you need to make grab jumps with more 75 or more of your maximum cargo capacity you'll do that in no time so very important as I mentioned all these skills are really important in Tech I don't know why ships top speed is increased that one's just a convenience it's not import like too important Bruce last last longer and cool down to Shorter convenient top speed is convenient while boosting all enemies disengage a player can only require them as a Target after the player stops boosting I don't think this skill is too important to progress through it you need to boost five times or a certain number of times in combat yeah be careful with this one I I wouldn't start off with this one energy weapon systems energy weapons uh have more damage and they cost less to use in targeting mode that get better and better and better eventually energy ship weapons recharge faster to progress you need to deal damage two enemy shifts with energy weapons you will use energy weapons I think is that different to laser no okay so laser weapons are in energy and those help you take down enemy ship Shields fast so this one is important make sure you progress it uh missile missile weapon systems ship missile weapons do more damage targeting cost is reduced as well eventually it's the same thing 30 and 60 Rank 4 ship missiles have increased Range travel speed and reload speed missiles are good but I think you can get away in a lot of circumstances just using lasers and Ballistic weapons so that's why it's a it's a later skill um if you like your user of your missiles in the game on your ship yeah progress this one but I think the other one's a little bit easier a little bit better earlier on in the game uh if you want to progress you deal damage to enemy ships with missile weapons particle beam weapon systems I haven't used particle beam weapons all that much same idea more damage less uh cost in targeting mode and then eventually increase critical hit chance with ship particle beam weapons particle beam weapons I think a lot of them you do need to buy so you're not going to be using this until you find a particle beam weapon that you actually like and is powerful and to progress you need to deal damage with particle beam weapons robotics deal more damage to robots and turrets you can force a Target or robot uh to stop fighting for a limited time same thing uh 30 better and then you can force a Target robot up to 10 levels higher than you to obey commence for a little bit amount of time robots come up and Starfield but not too often that I think you really need to invest in this skill I might be wrong but I more humans and more alien creatures robots do are there but yeah I wouldn't do this one first space Starship design improved ship modules better ship modules if you want to engage in the shipbuilder completely you will need this one you will need like there's a lot of really great weapons and reactors and grab drives that are locked at these ladder categories so this one's really important and to progress through them you need to install unique ship models so I think this one's really important to engage in ship combat a little bit better Starship engineering repair faster this is important repair faster once you lose your shields in spaceship combat you will start getting a damage to your Hull and if you want to repair you have like materials where you can repair it's so slow initially this will make it faster and ship systems have increased damage mitigation repair 25 faster occasionally repairing one block of a system will repair the entire system again if you really want to engage and start in a Starship or spaceship combat this one I see being actually pretty useful to progress you use ship repair kits we're getting their em weapon systems em chip weapons have increased damage and less costs and targeting mode and then eventually they have a small chance of instantly disabling energy enemy engines which is fine if you want to steal a ship but you can also just go into targeting mode and destroy their engine so I don't see the use of that one but it also does mean like with other enemies that they stop Flying so they can't argue is easy so that might actually be useful uh and to progress you deal damage to enemy ships with em weapons yeah again another one of those Ladder game weapons I would say boost assault training nearby enemies take damage when you boost and have a chance to catch on fire that's not useful at all fire is not that great I I there are more other ways to set your enemies on fire so I don't think this one's useful chance to knock down nearby enemies when you boost who cares aiming down the sides while boosting will let you hover in place this fuel is still expanded until empty and then while hovering time slows down the world moves 75 slower around you that's cool I hate that it's at rank four but that one's really cool I would I would actually get to that one and then you deal damage your enemies using the Boost pack finally automated systems These suck I hate automated weapons but if you wanted them to do more damage and less costs and targeting you can your ship takes less damage in targeting mode that's pretty good eventually increases crit chance against targeted subsystems by 20 and eventually your ship turrets weapons recharge 40 faster and do more damage and targeted subsystems I don't like automated ship weapons because like you can't control them and I didn't feel like they were actively helping me you might find that a little bit different um and then to progress you deal damage to enemy ships with automated turret weapons oh my God that is it those are my quick thoughts of all the skills in Starfield as I mentioned I have not used all of these I could be wrong on some of these the community needs to get their hands and all these skills and see what they're like I've been recording for so long let's conclude alrighty Way Sanders that's all from me I hope this video was helpful for you if you enjoyed it please like I would really appreciate it subscribe if you're new and until next time this has been the lone bot Wanderer please take care of yourselves and would you kindly keep finding the good fight foreign [Music]
