hello everyone welcome back thank you for being here today we'll focus on a winter train scene thank you to my patrons who helped me choose the topic if you'd like to see some of my other winter paintings have done check out the link up here let's go over the materials new for today first of all for brushes we need this blending brush some of these artists loves brushes I'll show you which one specifically I'll be using as we go on we need any flat half an inch brush and detail brush any of these will work and also some artist sponges artist sponges yes so you can get and choose which one works best for you this works great for bushy and tree effect so I'll show you how to do that for paints we need titanium white cadmium medium yellow ultramarine blue natural medium red and carbon black and these are also available on my website I just recently released my own brand of acrylic paint and today is actually the last day of to order your for the pre-sale so check that out you'll get a 50% off by the end of today using the code CBF acrylics we need a pallet and a palette knife to mix our paint jar of water where you can put your brushes here when you're not using them some paper towels and for my first layers I always say this I like to use a hair blow-dryer so in order to add some more layers and not smear the paint around I'm gonna use this guy and this is a 16 by 20 inch canvas I bought it straight from Michael's already pre gesso so it's dry and nice ready to go that's how they sell him sometimes you have to guess what yourself if you want more layers and take away the canvas texture but I usually just buy it and paint straight on the way it is it's it's really up to you how much layers of gesso you want but I bought it as it is and that's what I'm using today okay so what we're gonna do we're gonna have a train be omus at the center about right here and it's gonna loop around and fade away there will be some trees covering it so and then the smoke will be somewhere right here some trees on the side and railroad right here and we're gonna make the sky is super simple not gonna add too much clouds or anything to it because we really want that the the smoke from the train to pop out and if we add clouds too much in the background it'll kind of almost blend in with smoke so we wanted to release to make it stand out so we're gonna make this guy plane from going from light to dark and we're gonna make a very light sunset from here and then fading out to dark right here okay so let's let's mix our colors we're gonna choose this titanium white and let's put some about like I would say about like cuz we're gonna cover it about half way maybe a little lower than halfway and we're gonna cover the this part of the canvas here and so I'm using about a thumb a little more than a thumb amount of paint and then I'm gonna make a couple more of these and then each time I'm adding a little less so I'm gonna add a little less a little less so maybe a little less an just a touch right there so let's start with four shades okay so a little more than a thumbnail and then it goes less less less as you could see let's add different shade now let's take our yellow and we're gonna open it up and add just a little bit of it okay just a little bit right here just a touch right there very small amount right there okay right there and then maybe a little more on your second one and that's it okay right there we're gonna take our red and then add the red right about here just to live a bit and then just a little bit here right there kind of the same thing we did with the yellow but in these two shades right there okay and every time I take the pain away and when I'm done using it I always close the lid so that the paint won't dry so I close it and then when I need more I just open it and add some more now we're gonna take our ultramarine blue and we're gonna add it right next to this one right about there as you can see let's add a little more just a little more than the red and then a little more here about this much okay right there we might have to add a little more white but let's mix these and she and see what shades it gives us and then we'll add some more shades if we need to okay we want this guy not too dark we want it to be a light transition so that's why there's more white than any other color all right so our first shade quickly mix that end pretty bright as you could see with a hint of yellow in there right there our next one and like I said we might have to add a little more white to each of these let's let's first mix and see if we like the shades so actually I'm gonna go ahead and do I will actually add a white on to this one okay let's quickly do that right there I added a little more as you could see because I want a nice soft transition from light to dark darker shade of color right there that's good enough it's a light pink color as you could see has a little bit of orange but you could see it's a nice light color our next shade right here we definitely will add some more white to this one and maybe even our last one but I like to start off with the way I like to start off with a little bit of paint each time because then I can add more and more to the colors and then it builds up after you keep adding more and more that's why maybe first start off with a little bit of the amount thum thum about the thumbnail like I showed you right there so let's add a little more white there here you go a little more white basically what I'm trying to do is I'm trying to have these neutralized and that's what white and black does it really neutralizes the the shade so if you want to darker shade you throw in the either the color that or the black to make it darker or the Y to really neutralize and make its look smoother so as you can see it has it's going from lighter to a nice smoother sky right here but if I kept it very fat in that that white it would be very you know vibrant sky and you know that's if you want a nice very vibrant sky you can totally do that too and that'll be fine okay and then our final color right here is of course just white and ultramarine blue and I will add a little more white to this one let's add a little bit more white to this one just a little bit not that much we want a pretty dark still I mean we want it darker than these other shades right here this is our darkest shade okay right there it's good enough I think I'm ready to lay down some colors okay here you have it we have our four shades it's good enough for sky let's go ahead and cover our half the canvas all right so we're gonna grab our fluffy brush here I'm gonna dab it in the water about half way squeeze a little bit out we still want water in here and for example I'll show you if I squeeze it harder you could see water in there you see but we don't want to squeeze it very hard so we're gonna dab it halfway squeeze just a little bit of it so won't drip like this okay like that see there's still water in there so that's what we want and we're gonna grab our lightest color right here as you could see just grab it you could see there's some water in my brush but that's okay so we're gonna add it right in here and it's gonna run very smooth so let's even you know you can even bring it down low as low as you want because some of this is gonna be covered anyway so just grab all that lightest color you've got and randomly put it on this left corner okay and you could fade it out like this like that that's good enough right there grab it all and put it right here next car this pinkish color let's add it right in here right there okay and bring you down up here cover it right here like that maybe grab some of this you don't need to focus on blending it yet just lay down the colors first okay I like this and in our next shade and you don't have to use all the paint if you I mean if you have extra paint but that's fine I still somehow managed to use that extra paint somehow but let's go ahead and put this third shade here and my brush is still wet so it runs nice and smooth but once you start feeling that roughness you know roughness then you can dab it and just a tip just a tip on your brush and then grab more at the paint put it down like this very simple like that and then I'm gonna dab it again just a tip and then grab my final color actually let's finish off with this third color let's finish off in this corner right here we don't want this corner to be too blue so let's finish it off like that now let's use the blue color so dab the tip and then let's grab this blue and put it right in here okay right in here like this right in this corner grab it all and that's good enough right there right there there you go and now to clean this off and if you have one brush I have two of these so in order to save time I have two of them so I'm gonna quickly use this and it's dry I'm gonna work dry right now because my paint is wet and but you can totally just use wine just cleaning it out dry it out with a paper towel and then it'll be a little damp and and then use the same brush but like I said you know do save some time I like to have two of these so I'm gonna quickly start from the bottom here and lightly press and pull upwards you see how nice it blends i'm lightly pressed and barely touching the canvas okay and i'm swirling and picking the paint up so start from the lightest and go upwards and some areas if if it's a little you know if you need to press a little harder to get those colors blend in nicely you can press a little bit harder to do that but I'm really just blending everything nicely and lightly because the paint is still wet and I don't want to carry too much of the drag too much of the paint away from the canvas and there you have it all right let's try out our first layer okay our first coat is dry and we can add more layers now I could spend more time adding fluffy clouds and things in the my sky but I want the very the the steam and the smoke from the Train to really pop out so that's why I'm gonna leave it as it is and I'm gonna go ahead and continue and we're gonna add some faraway mountains in the back and what I've got here is titanium or titanium white blue and a little bit of green let's mix that and these will be faraway mountains all right you know I put in a little bit right here but I might need to add a little more so what I'm gonna do is add some titanium white next to it and a little bit of blue just a little bit of blue want it to be lighter so we got this green a little bit of blue let's mixer we're gonna blend those two together I'll show you what I want to do just like that that's good enough right there right there I'm gonna add a little more blue and a little white here just because it's a little dark and I feel like it needs to be since those mountains are far away you don't really see too much of the grain so far so let's add a little more white right there as you can see let's mix that into with this one so it just has that hint of blue or green in there but it's leaning towards blue more right there okay now we're gonna draw faraway mountains right there we want a pretty light with one a too dark of a color because we want a lighter you know color ratio reason why is because those mountains are far away so it blends in with the white okay so let's go ahead and do that and if you need to add more white to make it you know now I'll pop out too much because the one look to create depth you need to do that because as the more details you will add in the front like tree trees and bushes here then you will add darker colors in here but if you've got add too much dark in the back and in the front it will look flat just a little tip there alright let's take our flat brush half an inch flat brush dab it in the water so it could be damp and we're gonna take this paint like this and just draw a straight line I'm gonna cover some of this so just draw it stuff from here and have fun create little mountains far away maybe this one goes down like this but then there comes back up in here so let's bring you back down like this right very simple like this okay you've grabbing that paint put it right underneath everywhere like this and then here well actually let's put some more of this color right in here that's a good right there like that I just say like that and then let's grab our lighter color right here mom this color let's take it and then put it right underneath that green we added right there random we got it like this don't spend too much time on it because a lot of this we're gonna it's gonna be covered by the Train and all the other details out there so quickly add it like this grab the light lighter color add it underneath and then let's add some white just straight white out of the tube and we're gonna grab the white and put it right underneath it like this okay right underneath roughly just roughly put it in there you can see very rough how about right there that's good now we're gonna grab our fluffy brush and I squeeze the water out of it and grab my paper towel and then swirl it on to my paper towel get it a little damp okay little damp so it won't be too wet and gently dry it out a bit and now we can just blend everything in nicely so start from the top try not to go over on the sky okay so right underneath you dab it gently all right dab it gently and pull that lighter paint upwards right about there it's good enough right there okay so I'm gonna quickly drive this coat yeah we're gonna take our half an inch brush same brush yeah just with white grab a little bit of wider onto your brush and let's create some highlights and things far away don't spend too much time on this I mean you can if you want up to you but we want our mountains to stand out a little bit so that's why I'm I decided to add maybe snow or whatever on there may be some areas stand out a little more in other areas okay and then right here like this and then in here just whiten water maybe it's no up there okay maybe it's no up in the mountains you can barely see it and it fades out I'm gonna add a little more white in there yeah my brushing in water take more of this white paint create more little hills and things far away all right same thing here just with water and white connect some of these and pull them down follow the follow the shapes of your mouth see this hill right here it's a little bump follow that little bump down you know and create your snow that's what I'm doing here I'm connecting the dots just having fun with this and some of this most of this is gonna be covered too so don't you know you don't need to spend too much time we're gonna add trees and autumn it's gonna be covered but we just want that some of this highlights on their mountains far away ok now we're moving on to the next landscape here and we're gonna what we're gonna do is scrap this leftover green right you take it and blend it in with the blue and a little bit of white just blend all that in and if you don't have that leftover that's okay white and blue is fine I'm gonna add a little more white just a little bit more white okay right there take our artists off brush this one right here it's a half an inch and we're gonna take this paint right here that we mixed and quickly add it on right about let's say right in here let's go right in here and add it like this roughly and fade it out this parts going to be covered you can create some of by dabbing some bushes in the back or something but just like this and then if you have some titanium white take some titanium white and put it on underneath some of these areas like snowy areas right like this and then take the rest of the blue and put it underneath like this yeah we're gonna blend that in same thing with our fluffy brush squeeze the water out and swirl it onto our paper towel like this lightly gently and then it's damp and then we're gonna softly don't blend in that blue with a green but start from the bottom right here and it's okay if it's not perfect you don't want it perfect anyway just dab it in like this all right just like this perfect and that's it there you go that part is done next all right so next we have ultramarine blue like a thumb yeah and a little bit of white and some black here we're gonna mix all that in it's gonna be dark I'm gonna add some trees and about there it's good enough and then we're gonna take our detail brush dab it in the water and swirl it on to swirl the paint onto your brush right here yeah what's at a tree that's first what we're gonna do is I'm gonna take my artist off brush before I add a tree right here and take a little bit of this color right a little bit and that's add some bushes in the back lightly maybe create some little little little pads or something you could use your finger to dab it in and blend them in a bit just like that make it look like that I know it looks weird at first but bear with me so now we can use our detail brush dab it in the water and take some of this paint okay and we're gonna draw a couple trees okay gonna draw one that's coming out like this get my brush in water going out out of the canvas okay like this to have my brush in the water and takes more of this paint and create your tree you can make it as detailed as you want the tree to be add as much branches as you want I'm gently pressing onto the canvas who can run smoothly that's why I dab my brush in the water because when you do that it carries the paint very smooth maybe this branch it's a little crooked all these branches are crooked crooked all right continue on and don't worry about if you feel like you spread paint a little bit that's fine we're gonna add some snow onto our trees let's make this one come out like this let's draw another one right in here and maybe this one connecting this to have my brush in the water more of this paint draw some skinny ones up here maybe there's one that is up here all alone sometimes I use my finger to blend it blend it out nicely all right and to me these are necessary things to add in the painting when I have my before I had my train or the main subject because that's what makes it stand out more if I were to just draw the train by itself it would be just too simple too plain so you want to put that train somewhere in a nice scene anywhere you want it to be let's add a few little ones over here add some more in here let's make some of these bigger ones up here gonna add snow unto these ones just water and the same color we've been using make sure the tips are soft oops that's okay when that happens I dab my paper towel in the water and just dab it out just a little sometimes that happens but that's not a problem you just clean it out and move on or you can leave it and make it into something connect the dots you know a few more let's add a few more on this side this then maybe this okay almost there quickly add these in there and then we're gonna continue adding more but let's let's call it good right there and remember this artists punch right here we're gonna take that and then dab it in the water fully put it in the water soak it in and squeeze it out so I squeezed it out it's damp it's wet so it's ready to go and first we're going to choose our corner take this paint same paint and choose my corner and take a little bit of it on a corner and you can see I dab it and practice you can practice on your palette make sure you like the shapes that it gives you choose your corner choose your side take a little bit of that and let's add some of them in here remember this tree I have to put it all in there lightly press it in there okay lightly press it in take more of it and don't use too much just lightly on some of these areas you could see him randomly putting him okay very very lately and add someone here don't leave those ones hanging by themselves and maybe there's some bushes here on the bottom so let's add some of these bushes on the bottom dab it in there skip some pretend there's some that are you know alone decided to make a little pathway for the snow so I dabbed it in and just fade it out because the train is gonna be here and it's gonna cover some of these trees anyway so continue adding a little more I want to add some oops he added a little too much there that's okay I'm gonna do the same thing take our paper towel and just clean it out like this that's good enough right there sometimes those far further ones work better with artists off brush so so let's skip these actually let's go on to the bigger ones and let's continue I'm gonna add some more I want to make this tree fluffy and then maybe carry it out like that in there make a darker in this side okay and then let's take more of this and lightly press lightly want this tree a little more fluffy as well and don't put too much you want to see some of these naked you know trees wanting to be you want these trees to be not too fluffy because it's winter and most of these trees should be naked but some have so much branches that they makes it look fluffy the trees okay continue on and fade it out like this what I like to do also after I'm done with this I like to go back with my fluffy brush when I squeeze the water out I use it a lot when I paint it helps me blend in some of the areas I'm gonna squeeze the water out do the same thing still damp I'm gonna go over and dab it a little bit just with plain no paint on it then around the tree or inside the tree actually you blend that darker shade in a bit just blend it in a bit maybe it's someone here as well just the tops being here lightly and the paint's almost dry so you won't get all of them but just some areas okay like that now let's take our artists off brush a half an inch dry it out use the same color right here dab it like this onto your brush and then you know you can connect some of these further ones not everywhere you want some of them to be like I said naked so but I do want someone to be fluffier so maybe like this that's good enough right there maybe like that all right there you go okay I have white here and a little bit of blue okay a little bit I'm gonna mix these we're gonna add some snow on a tree okay so I'm gonna actually add a little more white so the snow can stand out a bit more okay so let's add a little more white like this right here next to it like this and take half of this mix it in with the white leave that there we might use it but we want Arsenal to stand out a bit so let's do that and then we can take our detail brush dab it in the water like we did with the you know the black and swirl it on to your brush and then follow some of your patterns of the trees and this is where you can spend a little bit of time going over your branches adding snow onto them yeah not everywhere but just quickly on some of the areas I had some snow roughly so remember this tree just gently with water and this light light light blue color that we mixed and dab it in the water and swirl it onto your brush then keep doing that so can run smoothly okay and I'm barely pressing the canvas I'm not pressing the chemists hard okay I'm gonna add some snow far away connect some of these make them into hills or something use my finger to blend it out like this as you can see it's starting to look like there's hills and snow going on that's what we want to make it look like all right let's do the same thing here just on some of these and lightly press lightly Amanda snow and we're gonna use our art of sponge to blend some of the snow in with our colors there I'm just quickly adding some of the straight lines with the branches okay just some don't spend too much time just like this all right and now we're gonna first let's start off with the artists off brush cleaning it out and this half an inch continue on with this know right dab it in like this and let's put it some of them in here just lightly dab it okay lightly dab it all right and I noticed that the background is pretty light so it blends in with the background so actually let's take titanium white just attenion white and let's go with justit anyway I want these I want the snow to stand out a bit okay and I'm gonna mix it a little bit with it but mainly use the titanium white and I'm gonna add the snow onto these trees so dab it in like this make your trees a bit fluffy don't cover all the the the dark areas just debt on some of the areas some of the snow so that your so you can look like you know bushy and maybe add some in the bushes like this create some you know some snow on top of your bushes like this and let a fade out a bit you don't have to add it everywhere okay so continue on debit make sure it has the nice let's add some in here okay roughly add that in not everywhere just on some of these and we're gonna come back now that we did that let's take our card a soft sponge or I mean just the artist sponge squeeze the water out that's from doing here squeeze the water out use a paper towel to kind of dry it out a bit yeah use the same sponge find the corner you can mix it in actually because mix it in with this it doesn't matter you could completely just use straight white but I want a little bit of that blue so just mix it in and add some snow on top like this just on the tips maybe dab dab some of it like this okay as you could see roughly adding that let's add someone here okay okay like this I'm gonna do the same thing use my blending brush squeeze out the water you know use the paper towel quickly you don't want that to run that's all just a little bit so there won't be too much water on here and you're the same thing lightly press and blend some of those in okay just lightly very lightly don't do too much you want some of them to be a little you know sharp looking so just lightly blend those in so they can glow okay there you go okay let's continue I've got to tenean wiped a little bit of blue here I want to mix that that'll be snow we're gonna continue the snow so it's just light blue okay just like that and then we've got titanium white here for the snow and if you have some of this leftover you can take it you don't have to but I'm gonna mix it in with my white because I don't want it to be pure white yet if you don't have that if you don't remember the colors that I mixed here just add a touch smaller just a little bit of the ultramarine blue and that'll be just fine we just want it to be a little lighter that's all lighter than this color okay so let's take those colors and first I'm gonna just use I'm gonna grab my artists inch artist soft brush right here dab it in the water yeah I'm gonna finish the canvas off by adding this snow first quickly so I'm going to add the snow roughly in here okay just roughly with the water you go over a little bit some of these but we want to cover our canvas first right so continue on with this color yeah just blend it in and again like I said the trains gonna be here so it's gonna cover part of this so let's say up to this point okay and then we're gonna have the train be here and then it's gonna it's gonna fade out about like this right just cover that all the way in here like this don't even worry about this we're gonna Transkei here okay so continue on with this color and roughly added on grab the lighter one maybe add it right there maybe add it right here won't be much of a difference but let's add it right in here we want to cover our canvas first we'll take this blue bushes are gonna be here so this all doesn't matter which color you'll add this would be like a base color okay just like this we just want to cover the canvas one I'll grab my fluffy brush and blend that in real quick and roughly just to take away their brushstrokes I like to do this don't worry about having it perfect okay this is just the base there you go fat and I'm gonna quickly drive this out all right perfect and I've got black and ultramarine blue is gonna be very darker color so when we use that just mix those in there you go it's okay if you get have a little bit of you know the white added into it that's fine it's gonna be a very dark color anyway and then what I have here is just orange and a little bit of red okay I'm gonna clean out my palette knife so I won't carry too much of the dark color and I have titanium white here I'm gonna actually take a little bit of it okay you just mix it in here we're gonna add some color to our train okay it's gonna be a dark orange color like this there you go okay so now let's continue on and add some details let's add a few more bushes on this side and continue just add a few more bushes so I'm using an inch artist loft brush and you dab it like this and just and here create some lightly I'm barely pressing I'm just tapping okay you know he's your finger if you have to but I just want some of these to be a little more darker here these bushes okay maybe some in here like this and then let it fade out in there like this make it a little darker in there and then you can take just some white use the same brush just pure white and it's Anselm's light snow on our bushes here like that okay continue on I'm gonna clean mine I'm gonna actually change my brush to my half an inch artist soft brush clean it out with a paper towel and dab the titanium white and create some of the highlights of the snow just like this looks like a little hill going up okay just with this brush and then you can fade it out in there like I said some of this is gonna be covered there you go that's good enough right there all right continue on with the white and let's add it a little bit in here this is just white I'm gonna actually clean it because I feel like I'm carrying some of the black so I'm gonna clean it and make sure I just grab the white and the way I cling to my brush I just dab it in in my water jar just dab it lightly and then just with a paper towel quickly wipe it off and that's it very simple so just a tinium white and add it right in here and then you can have it like go in like this just roughly blended him this line like this and then maybe there's another line going in this is gonna be the bushy area in here so just lightly want some of the highlights from the snow to buff out like this and now let's take our half an inch brush clean it out with a paper towel and remember this black let's take this black and add some railroads let's start off with red in here okay and we're gonna carry it all the way and just you know space them out evenly like this it's not going to be perfect that's okay and then draw another one right in here okay just roughly draw it out and then you can go back and with a detail brush touch it up with some snow just snow you know draw it straighter make them look cleaner just with white and then on this side you can also add white same thing here just add the snow very quickly and have the details okay I know it looks a little rough but this is a sketch and then we're gonna go back and make it a little nicer and titanium white try to make these as straight as possible from here going over just white I'm always grabbing white and then here just some white but then also take our artists off brush also we're gonna remember this blue that we have left over this darker blue lightly pressing I'm lightly pressing drawing out the the shadow of the train here will be to be up here so I'm going to blend that in it's good enough right there and then just with a detail brush titanium white and then gonna draw these little things snow with like reflection and drawn out like this from the railroads bump right there and as it gets further away making a bit smaller but not too small and what I'm going to do here is take this darker shade and add it right underneath like this lightly dabbing it blend blending some of it in with the snow and dry it out it's a little too wet the brush you know a little highlight there there you go so I'm trying to make sure it's enough to wet and blend that upwards just pull it upwards like this there you go same thing on this side on some of these want to create some highlights just on some of them know roughly it's good enough right there okay we're gonna add the bushes in a little bit but now let's draw the train okay the fun part finally here we made it so I'm gonna take my flat brush and remember this black we mixed just take some of this and let's first draw a shape and let's take our shape and add our circle that's the part of the train right about in here okay so we're gonna take our circle and add it right in here just dab your brush in the water if you wanted to run smoother to create a nice hard edge look in shape circle right there and then we're going to add let's make it a little more circle II right about there so just start off with the black and then let's draw a line and then here that's where the smoke will be so let's add a little chimney or whatever you want to call it okay just like that and cover it in black for now continue on there's it like a little bump here okay this is like a circular thing and then we're gonna continue on and add before we continue yeah let's continue and fool me draw out the train first so I'm gonna try a little circular bump here and then here strictly bring you down like this filled it in with black like this and then will continue and and another little bump along the way leave that like that and the rest will be you know you know like this okay it looks rough a little but we're gonna add more details to it okay so now here we're gonna continue and about right here we draw a mustache right there you could see a little mustache right there see and then here we're gonna add something you know how trains are you can tell what they are some metal let's add some metal there that's what I'm gonna call it and then it goes out here a little bit and comes down roughly like this and then straight across let's end it right in here okay just this black color if you need to dab it in the water a bit and then here we're gonna draw it straight down just feed it out like this with the dark just blend that in we're gonna add our highlights and things later and then so remember at the Train this railroad it's gonna continue it's gonna go like this okay just like that and then we're gonna and a little remember this little part right here try and like this I know it looks weird but I'm just sketching it out first so bear with me so this part is remember this circular part we're gonna add it in with a different color let's fill in this with black here and this is where the the lighter part will be so we're going to add some blue in here [Music] that's where the wheels and the shadow of the train will be okay so remember this just bring it down like this create little circles like wheels or something and let's finish off by adding a straight line like this get it out and little circles pretend they're wheels just a bit in their feed it out it doesn't have to be perfect just like that and then now we're gonna mix another shade let's scrap some titanium white and ultra blue like this right here and I'm gonna take some of this black I want it to be still pretty dark oops I had some of this orange still on my palate now but that's okay that's totally okay right there that's good right there actually let's take a little more black I want it to be more greyish like this and I'm gonna clean line half an inch brush take this color and then add it I filled it in here lately just fill it in fill in those areas this area with this color okay we're gonna come back with the details in a bit but let's first we're trying to you know sketch out our training okay so just this color let's put it all in here and then here I'm gonna actually dab my brush in the water take a little bit of the black put it underneath right here where the line I'll say the line will be right in here and the reason why is it's just that's the way they're made it has like a little you know shadow going on or something but then it goes back to the same color right in here and lightly blando sinned don't worry about covering all the white I'm gonna go back with a detail brush for the details but I want to add it this black right here and continue adding this line we get a bit lower on this one and just bring it in and fade it in like this right and that's with that color down actually that's where almost forgot that's where we add the orange let's make our train a little bit more colorful okay I wanted to stand out so let's add this in here and I'm gonna add more red I don't want it to be too colorful so let's add a little bit of red mix it in with the orange maybe add some in here so more orange-red maybe grab this blue as well this grayish color so it won't be too strong okay you just put it all in there we're gonna take the white and the white somewhere in here maybe in here like this and the red just randomly spread that color doesn't have to be perfect we wanted to look very you know like their shadows and things going on so just bring you down straight like this like I said it doesn't have to be perfect just blend all that in bring it straight down okay look a bit rough and here this is where I want just the white just the white here but maybe mix it in with this blue right I just want to light a color because the light is brighter on top put it on top like this and fade it out okay you know we're drawing our shape of the train first okay that's what we're doing here so bear with me here and now we're gonna take some more of this blue with the white mix it in it's at this area a little lighter like this roughly added in there okay and then let us add some of this gray and cover some of the white in here we don't want the white on the bottom to be too bright okay let's take our detail brush here and just with the blackened detail brush we're gonna dab it in the water like we always do swirl it and add the details you see this needs to be a little more straighter so then make it more rounder and then bring you down you remember this line right here we added remember quickly draw that in there that straight make it straight as straight as you can just straight like that and fade it out all right and draw straight line here and then something going on here cover some of these yeah yes pretend like draw little leave some of these little circles in there pretend like there were wheels glowing from reflection or something don't cover everything we're gonna come back to the deep wheels later but let's continue with this color right and with water and this black we're gonna add details to our train remember we keep going down here cover that up we want it to be nice and straight and then here that's where we continue adding the details dab your brush in the water so it can run smooth all right you know we're gonna draw a little window here okay little window just black cover it with black like this and this is the fun part because this is where you just have fun at the details where you want you then to be I love the detailing part every time alright remember this we want to make the circle a little more perfect a little more circle II like this and I remember this chimney had it right in there like this make it straighter that's where the smoke will come out and we're just outlining first and here I'm going to draw a little like window from the top or something little hatchet or something just blend it in like this there you know continue adding details right with water and black very simple remember this line here I'm gonna draw some lines going down and fade a mouth from the Train maybe there's another line right here or something feed it out lightly all these little details adding these little details to your trend will make your train stand out more okay and I remember we had something going on here and then here we want peace to be a little more cleaner and straighter so that's what I'm doing I'm just going over the Train and making making the shapes a little more cleaner there you go dab my brush in the water maybe add some darker areas in there and I want this part to be a little more darker so what I'm going to do is take away half an inch took some of the red we've mix it in with the gray just make that a little darker mixing it with the black actually I just want this to be a little more darker just make it dark gray or something take a little more black when that in this continued on with my detail brush and make this dark ride-along in there like I said we're quickly adding in the details first okay so continue with the black and let's split some of this train apart let's start from here and try with a straight line going down like this and then we're gonna take it down like this okay continue draw a few more those and as it gets further away want to make sure to keep that consistency of of the you know the bend how we did it right here that's what we want to do and one more right okay as you can see all these little details they matter but if you try to skip ahead you we'll get something abstract if that's what you want that's totally fine there is no right or wrong so do you do what you want to do and have a lot of fun with it okay don't tell don't let anybody tell you what to do in a good way and a good way out that's not a bad advice all right and then we're gonna continue adding let's add a little little design or something like this alright quickly add it in like this and then what we're gonna do is take our half an inch and just take the red okay just take the red light make sure it's a little wet okay so you won't cover too much of that orange but we want to add a little bit of this more inch on the bottom right here or red I mean use your finger blend it out that makes it nice separation you know that's there you know we're gonna continue on with the blackened water and add some windows just easy windows okay just light easy windows you could see him sketching it out add more detail to my train so that's why it's important to take time and as it gets further right I want to be able to feed it out and make some of these smaller and now do the same thing going over with the details just with the white maybe use some of this yellow as well just a little bit water and white okay and we are going to add details right in here remember this just add it and you know the details pretend there's something going on here make some of these brighter on top okay all right pretend there's something going on here you can use your finger to you know blend it out a bit and just add your highlights make it look more cleaner go over some of these windows yes over them quickly with water and white if you want your train to stand out that's what you got to do all right continuing you know there's something going on in there this is where you just almost guess the shadow but when you do add these little details like I said it will really make your train look really nice it's really important to not forget about these maybe there's let's add a few little dots in there because maybe life to shine shining through them you know and I'm randomly guessing creating highlights so that it'll pop out a little bit so just why to continue on with white you can go over it with some of this dark blue on top right here I'll show you maybe add a little bit of black just like me like this let's add a little bit of the red and orange just little bit of it Brett in the middle right here we want to create a light glow and just fade it out around but we want it in the middle okay and a little more orange in the middle and lightly feed it out like this okay and now maybe a little more let's let's take a little more right there I'm gonna use my artists left brush let me feed it out okay and then here we're gonna use some of this grayish blue fill in some of the areas remember the wheel parts just make sure it's not too wide around just quickly add in the highlights there like this doesn't have to be perfect but you could see we just want it to look a little use a little bit of the white and splits in the train tracks you know split some of them in here pretend you could see there where it splits so add in some of those so there were too much for her now with the detail brush let's take some white and add one little light in here just like that and then let's take orange and put it around it just around it like that don't blend anything yet just put it around it like that and then we're gonna take the red maybe a little bit of that more inch but mainly the red and put it around it and then you can land in the red with the orange like that and you know what I'm gonna make it a little bigger okay let's make it a little bigger so the same process white let's put it like this let's make it like this big and just take the orange put it right on the edge around it make it a little bigger and the read just read in water and blend it in with the orange feed it out nicely okay and I came I brush and dab a little bit of the yellow let's take a little bit of the yellow straight out of it you put it around the white and blend it in okay just like that and I clean my brush and then add the white right in the middle and the white right in the middle you have to brush just dry it out with a paper towel and blend that white with the yellow lightly and there you go you have your light now once it's dry I'm gonna grab my artist soft brush and it's a little wet so I'm gonna take a little bit of orange here right a bit of the orange and just flake it out like this make it glowing or something okay shining on maybe hitting the road right here so take some of this orange the snow I mean I met it like this just a little bit right there you take some white a little bit of the yellow make it a little more brighter and just feed it out like this okay I'm gonna and a little bit of white in here it came out a little bit that's okay he wasn't fully dry just dab it in there like this there you go maybe collect this a little bit take some of the yellow and add it around you get to glowy little more glow here there you go let's pretend there's a few little lights in here so just with a yellow just with the yellow straight out of the tube and dab a few of those in there pretend there's little lights like this on the train maybe some in here I grabbed a little bit of white as well and just that men like this maybe some in here randomly you know there you go okay let's continue in add the smoke we're almost there guys oh I what I added here was the ultramarine blue red a little bit of red and white and basically I just want it to be a darker like a darker you know a bluish color with a hint of red in it right there like this your can be a little lighter or darker that's that's okay we just want one shade right here and I have to tenean white and black okay and these are the shades we're gonna use right now and if we need more we're gonna add a few more so right now what I'm gonna do is take my half an inch artists off brush and let's start with the black okay just black straight black and from here mix it in with a little bit with white actually from here I want to put it in take the black and draw a nice foamy cloudy and then it goes up like this and then that fades out into the lighter colors but let's put it like this just the black and as we go up let's actually take this blue member we mixed right here this purplish color I guess and let's put it underneath right here and we can have some of these stick out a bit so this purplish color okay continue on with just this purple color okay and as we go out I'm going to clean my brush as we go up I'm gonna just take the white and add a little bit of the white but still continue on with this purple still continue on and in fact let's take a little bit of the black just the black and randomly at it and then we're gonna make it go up about this high okay creating like a little wave right there when we had it split it up and then let it come down like this maybe grab the white put the white in here we're creating shapes first basically sketching it out and then here and the white see the tree behind us we almost covered everything but that's okay I like to smoke better continue with this blue right in here let's pretend it went like this take some of this white in here mix it in I'm writing it down and he takes another plaque and let it fade out like in there like this okay I defeat out and then basically create they're all shapes in your clouds but go in kind of circular okay get out add this bluish color in here and then take the white and the white get out and the black a little bit in here want the black to be standing out a bit more all right so now as you can see it's a rough sketch I'm gonna what I'm gonna do is take my blending brush and blend everything yet squeeze the bar out and then just blend everything and start with that I guess the darkest blend everything getting it in inside okay like this just roughly blended olan softly there you go I'm gonna quickly drive that out take our detail brush dab it in the water and just with white if you have a little bit of blue in it that's fine just make sure your brush is wet and you're taking white and we're gonna create some clouds just follow the some of these shapes you know follow them create some patterns like this you know like me the finger blend it and blend it out but we want to create some nice nice shapes that's what we want to do right there just with white CI I'm I'm just eyeballing it and looking at shapes that already that I see some lights and darks and so I just added in there follow the tip of the lighter areas of the you know the smoke so just with white I'm gonna continue on and I see some lighter ones in here that could be you know used someone could be more dramatic like this alright this is fun because you can do it any way you'd like it type it in with the breath with the finger to clean it out a bit and you see this is naturally creating this cloud here and I'm gonna just roughly put it in there connect it right there with water and white like I said if you have some of the blue or whatever color you have there that's fine okay connecting you right there and as they go up they're a little bigger so just keep that in mind just with water and then here you just had very small ones make it look squiggly [Music] and for the final touches let's add some trees right here in this area and that's it a few little details but first I'm gonna grab this black and this hard a slop brush and continue with this remember we had this just add in little details like that with just the black faded out like this and cleaning out doesn't have to be perfect you could also use your detail brush for that just a black make it a little wet and going over some of these you can grab some white and randomly dab it in there just the white like this now let's our detail brush water and black here let's add one tree in here we want it to be the tallest let's let's make it go down and go like this okay just with water and black right we're continuing adding a few more details quickly these are some of the final touches here let's add a branch like this like that just what I'm black and that's it I'm not gonna add any more trees now let's a few more little details here we're gonna take our artists punch rinse it out just in our water jar that's enough to be planed but just take away the water and let's take this dark color and do the same idea same idea maybe take this one a bit higher but same idea that bit lightly choose your corner and just add a few of these you know these darker ones step it in there like this and then you take your mop brush squeeze the water out and blend some of these in just on the dark and darker areas just some of them maybe in here and a little bit of darker but not too much right there that's good doesn't have to be perfect maybe put something here this darker shade acts like I don't bushes or something okay yeah I'm gonna add some snow so just white from the tube right there just white and a little bit of blue just a little bit I didn't even use all of it like this detail brush swirl it like this and then add some snow lately similar what we did with those trees lightly with this color whoops there are too much there but that's okay sometimes no paws up okay just like that and then do the same thing grab the corner of your sponge and add some this no lightly maybe not everywhere just you know some of the areas cuz I like this tree being dark but I also like that it has some snow so just see for yourself what you want how much snow you would want on the tree all right and if I add it too much I can always go back with the black and fix some areas up but for now I'm gonna do the same thing my artists brush dry it off with a paper towel and blend those colors in lightly not pressing too much but just slightly on some of the areas okay mix it in with the black I like this so I'm gonna leave it as it is rough like that but right here I can blend in a little bit okay like this and for the final touches I'm gonna take this black color and some of the bushes here just pull it upwards great grass or something lightly maybe someone here okay I'm gonna call this painting good I can go back and add as much detail as I want to the train to the smoke to the trees and birds at clouds whatever you'd like have fun with this I hope this was helpful and you enjoy this tutorial let me know what you thought and if you have any questions down below in the comments and I'll do my best to answer all of them thank you guys so much and see you guys next week for next week's tutorial take care god bless [Music]
