"Sh**ting my pants" Cessna EMERGENCY LANDING ON ROAD #atc

Tower Sky 65045 uh declaring an emergency got the smell of oil in my cockpit and the engine is reduced RPM approximately 11 miles to the uh Northwest 11 miles to the Northwest GL you see your number again and you're declaring emergency Roger declare emergency 65045 I have full engine power right now but I am smelling uh oil in the cockpit so I'm hoping I can get to you 045 Roger continue inbound and and just let me know which Runway You' like Roger that inbound 045 045 you want equipment standing by 911 is that correct uh negative on 911 I think we're going to be okay it's the first time I've ever been in this situation 65045 Roger just no delay then and you're and you are declaring the emergency or you're not let's hold off on the emergency for a while because uh then I know there's lots of paperwork for 045 045 that's up to you sir so you just continue in Bound SL wck let me know if you like 18 the winds are out of the West Northwest right now they are turning North at 5 Roger coming in for8 for 045 045 if you'd like 18 we can work that out you let me know or just fly direct to the airport and let me know which Runway you need Roger that direct to the airport we let you know 045 no Tower Sky 703 enter two 4 miles entering base to 27 Tower 5205 we're about five north inbound you pick the runway 05 I just want you to fly south and eastbound from presentent position that traffic inbound from the Northwest that's Westy about 3 miles there the emergency just go south and east bound to present position and call me just North the sures fly south and Eastbound and uh we're direct to the airport so we'll call you over the airport that was 05 s is that correct affirmative s from presentent position FL South and Eastbound and Report north of Surf Side you familiar with that uh report north of Surf Side I think I know where that is real good just fly maybe a heading of 130 or Southeast on of that heading I'll keep you ADV advice 130 0 70 392 clear to land clear to land 39 too Tower I am declaring an emergency we have zero oil pressure uh engine is still running 045 I have that declaring emergency we'll have the responding equipment and 045 Roger continue inbounds and uh report uh what you can do there you can make Runway 18 or what would you like window is presently 2506 we try 18 that's going to be the closest for me for 0455 Roger Runway 18 and you'll be number two for the airport traffic no Factory Short final for 27 Runway one 18. clear to land on number two 045 say Souls on board if you would for me when you have time and type aircraft s 172 one soul and uh approximately uh 30 gallons of fuel don't think I'm going to make it 045 045 Roger you continue and just continue and let me know Roger that engine RPM's down to 1500 getting a loud knocking now see engine out 045 045 understand keep me advised confer field any Runway you can sir Runway 18 if you make the field you're clear to L can't make the field uh that highway looks damn busy down there keep me advis what you can do whatever you can do sir okay I got a Highway uh just to my uh left at about 11:00 I'm going to set it down on that currently at 2,300 defending Miss some of that but you said maybe 65 is that correct I don't know the highway number from up here but uh a lot less traffic uh two lane high or sorry four lane Highway okay oh we just keep down the radar as long as we can for 045 I'll good you do what you have to Roger 0a Tower 05 we're over Sur I think 05 I just continue orbiting east of the fields all right we're orbiting on the end of uh 2705 70392 turn left there clear up uh go south of Bravo and then hold and then stand by south of Bravo hold and stand by everybody calling Dr control radio discipline please stand by for about 3 minutes Lin up on the highway for 045 looking good Anda Tower s 05 here you need to get a visual on him on 65 he's north of you but Northwest he's going eastbound so he's on some Highway way up North about four miles 3 half 4 miles there you can go north from there if you like 27 if you like or you can go up and check that uh aircraft out on the freeway like down safely 045 04 045 s we are down safely I'm going to try and pull over here uh um I couldn't tell you the highway number I'm just going to worry about the aircraft for now yeah keep me keep me advis on the frequency if can 04 and 05 Ser clear L yeah we're clear to land 05 here pilot on 65 well done man glad on safe in my pants that's all I can say 045 in uh down on the freeway you got the freeway number they're kind of wondering on uh 911 I'll pull it up on my phone GPS give me one second 045 based on the map it looks like Highway 65 well he's East he went landed East West so Anda Tower S5 we're short final for 27 L land 0 045 uh you have a highway number yet sir and everything is good your aircraft is good is that correct Roger we're all good uh it says 125th Avenue Northeast at Lexington Avenue Northeast Rog try to get some help up there for you same with the aircraft 045 045 everything is good with the aircraft no fire no nothing like that correct uh no damage apart from engine out uh no sign of smoke uh no fire Z [Music] 5
