Only thing I know about this is he rehearsed with much bigger shorts, when they went live he wore smaller ones and pulled them right up his ass so the reactions from the others is a mix of the sketch and unexpected Ferrell ass.
This was the 2nd episode back after 9/11 so it spoofed everyone suddenly putting out flags and being patriotic. A good instance of the show acknowledging the new American landscape without dredging up sadness.

I THINK this was Amy Poehler's first sketch, or at least first show.
This thing is so American you're not allowed to watch it outside the USA
It's crazy that this sketch has absolutely nothing for Poehler or Dratch to do. Meyers I understand...SNL often used writers as warm bodies to fill a scene.
