and strengthen our faith we pray that you guide the people's task to find cures for this disease and to stem its transmission bless our efforts to use the medicines developed to end the pandemic in our country we pray for health workers they may minister to the sick with competence and compassion grant them health in mind and body strengthen their commitment protection from the disease we pray for those afflicted may they be restored to health protect those who care for them grant eternal arrest to those who have died give us a grace in these trying times to work for the good of all and to to my prayer and attend to the sound of my pleading [Music] in your truth [Music] is is [Music] a reading from the holy gospel according to saintly look glory to you jesus a tax collector named levi sitting at the customs post he said to him follow me and leaving everything behind he got up and followed him then levi gave a great banquet for him in his house and a large crowd of tax collectors and others were a table with them the pharisees and their scribes complained to his disciples saying why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners said to them and replying those who are healthy do not need a physician but the sick do i have not come to call the righteous to repentance but sinners the gospel of the lord [Music] good morning my dear brothers and sisters what will you do when you see people being oppressed or accused without evidence and do you welcome those who sins or hurts you our first reading is the continuation of the yesterday's reading taken from prophet isaiah chapter 58 verses 1 to 9. today it is verses 9 to 14. it talks about what kind of fasting that pleases god we heard that if you remove from your meat's oppression false accusation and malicious speech if you bestow or apply your bread on the hungry and satisfy the afflicted ill or sick then light shall rise for you in the darkness and the gloom shall become for you like midday it highlighted here the [Music] false accusation malicious speech feeding the hungry and satisfies the afflicted or seriously ill or sick as if god talks about the reality of our time are we not living this kind of era we're in our mids we see and experience false accusation we make malicious speeches against others or vice versa we have also the problem of hunger or malnourishment in our society in our nation as a whole and at all have the opportunity to serve a three full meal every day it is a reality because god's word is always a living word that is alive it always strikes or disturbs us within our heart it strikes or disturbs us and compels or moves us to do something good before god and our neighbors but if we are not affected by what we have heard then the word of god never touch our heart it's useless that we attend this celebration only if we are moved to do something for others that we truly be blessed as god said earlier and i repeat then light shall rise for you in the darkness and the gloom shall before become for you like midday what a beautiful assurance of a better life and blessings like a midday or noonday that guides our path wherever we go in addition our gospel today is taken from luke chapter 5 verses 27 to 32. let me emphasize verses 31 and 32. in verse 31 jesus said to them in reply those who are healthy do not need the position but the sick do this is in relation to what we have heard in the first reading if only we are satisfied afflicted or sick or ill they have a special place in god's heart thus as we are adopted children of god we must be his arms and feet to extend his loving care to our sick brothers and sisters jesus came here for all especially for the sake so please our dear brothers and sisters joining us in your home or wherever you are never think that you are abundant and alone we are here together with you with your loved ones who continue to take good care and serve you keep fighting you may also offer your suffering to jesus in order to find meaning in this entire calvary moreover jesus welcomes all and he is the perfect model of hospitality in verse 32 he said and i quote i have not come to call the righteous to repentance but sinners and of god others may judge us in their own standards calculations and malicious intentions but our lord jesus senor santo nino will always welcome sinners that are willing to listen and to change his or her heart jesus sees not the outside appearance but the inside that is our heart for we cannot hide anything to him therefore i invite you to be honest before senor santo nino for all our struggles feelings and whatever sins we have committed confess to god through the sacrament of confession or reconciliation if ever you have the chance may our prayer be always like this responsorial psalm that says teach me your way o lord that i may walk in your truth amen please all standing christ came to go sinners offering them salvation with humility of spirit aware of his call these gifts we pray by sending down your spirit upon them like the dewfall so that they may become for us the body and blood of our lord jesus christ at the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his passion he took bread and giving thanks broke it and gave it to his disciples saying take this all of you and eat of it for this is my body which will be given up for you in a similar way when supper was ended he took the chalice and once more giving thanks he gave it to his disciples saying take this all of you and drink from it for this is the chalice of my blood the blood of the new and resurrection we offer you lord the bread of life and the chalice of salvation giving thanks that you have held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you humbly we pray that partaking of
