[Music] good morning brothers and sisters today we celebrate the first sunday of lent the healing eucharist incorporated and the sbd secretariat for social communications in cooperation with abs-cbn philippine daily enquirer balikbayan handicrafts and bir kaluakan region 5 celebrate with you this holy mass our mass presider is rev father glenn paul gomez svd we now begin our celebration [Music] oh [Music] is [Music] oh [Music] so we now consciously connect our own self with our personal god as we say in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit amen the grace of our lord jesus christ and the love of god and the communion of the holy spirit be with you all and with your spirit so we now enter into the new season its lenten season first sunday of lent so we will meditate on the suffering and death of our lord jesus christ and for us to become worthy to participate in this mass we pause for a moment close our eyes our heads we ask jesus to cleanse our heart we ask the holy spirit to clear our mind and we ask our father in heaven to touch us from head to foot remove all sicknesses from our body and above all remove all sins from our being our god is a very loving and forgiving god [Music] is [Music] [Applause] [Music] let us pray grant almighty god through the yearly observances of holy land that we may grow in understanding of the weakest hidden in christ by and by the worthy conduct pursue their effects to our lord jesus christ your son who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the holy spirit one god forever and ever amen the liturgy of the word offering to god the fruits of the land in thanksgiving the israelites profess publicly the saving acts god has done on their behalf lent is the time to recall the lord jesus's suffering on our behalf the first reading a reading from the book of deuteronomy moses spoke to the people saying the priest shall receive the basket from you and shall set it in front of the altar of the lord and sisters what does scripture say the word is near you in your mouth and in your heart that is the word of faith that we preach for if you confess with your mouth that jesus is lord and believe in your heart that god raised him from the dead you will be saved for one believes with the heart and soul is justified and one confesses with the mouth and so is saved for the scripture says no one who believes in him will be put to shame for there is no distinction between jew and greek the same lord is lord of all enriching all who call upon him for everyone who calls on the name of the lord will led him to jerusalem made him stand in the parapet of the temple and said to him if you are the son of god throw yourself down from here for it is written he will command his angels concerning you to finished every temptation he departed from him for a time the gospel of the lord praise to you lord jesus christ what is the best way to start the day yes always start the day with good news as we celebrate lent 2022 first sunday of lent march 16 2020 two years ago 19 one of the many things that covered 19 taught us go back to the basics return to the most important things to survive a hospital believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church i confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins and i look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come amen as jesus uses god's word to counter the devil's temptations let us ask our heavenly father that we may be filled with the spirit obedience to his word in a special way we live up to god the father the needs of merciful hands we pray lord you conquered sin and temptation listen to our prayer for all missionaries who have left home country and family to proclaim the gospel to all nations may the lord protect them from all dangers strengthen them in their loneliness give joy to their communities and fulfillment in their apostolate may the lord reward them in this life and in the life to come for their sacrifices and generosity for the kingdom we pray lord you conquered sin and temptation listen to our prayer that the filipino youth be filled with the spirit of truth and obedience by prayerfully gift we pray by sending down the spirit upon them like the dewfall so that they may become for us the body and blood of our lord jesus christ at the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his supper was ended he took the chalice and once more giving thanks he gave it to his disciples saying take these all of you and drink from it for this is the chalice of my blood the blood of the new and
