hello everybody hope you're all doing well my name is steven and this is the story time channel we've got some malicious compliance stories so let's jump right into our first story of the day by metal needs feminism what kind of pressure do you like when i was in university i was looking for a part-time job i managed to secure a position with a company called let's say tenerife seraphim for safety's sake they trained you up to be a masseuse and you would work either in casinos clubs or ferries going around and offering punters an indian head massage my young and inexperienced self thought this would be a great way to earn money in reality it was dodgy as all heck only women were hired often blonde and usually no older than 25 you were taught how to perform a stripped-down version of an indian head massage but given no formal medical training or understanding you had to pay the company each time you wanted a shift started off as 35 pounds but went up to 60 pounds after time and then the rest of the money you made was yours cash in hand some days i would make less than 20 pounds a day to keep but other days i easily made 200 and seeing as it was a part-time job purely to give me more spending money during my university years i actually stayed there for a good year and a half i worked on the ferries to france there were usually three types of people on these ferries other than those working on it of course you had the lorry drivers coming to and from europe you had the people on holiday or having a little trip and then you had the booze cruisers booze cruisers for those of you who might not be aware of the term were the people who went on the ferries purely to pick up duty-free alcohol due to the cheap alcohol on sale at the bar as well more often than not they would sit on a ferry for an entire round trip or two drink constantly and then get off with crates of discount beer and wine these were usually the worst people i encountered as a young woman offering massages the amount of crude and disgusting remarks i would get from male booze cruisers was insane multiple remarks per trip about happy endings that kind of a thing but i usually just ignored them as i genuinely enjoyed my job one day though i got the opportunity to exact my revenge on these types of passengers via malicious compliance a whole group of men aged around 40 to 50 decided they all wanted massages i couldn't very well say no so i went over there and the loudest booze cruiser was making the same disgusting comments getting laughs off of all his mates i went through the basic medical spiel and asked him what kind of pressure he likes he told me give it to me hard i like it hard cue more laughter now when it comes to what pressure you want in a massage it's important to be honest a masseuse even a basic one like i was is trained to put their entire weight into their arms if needs be in order to perform the massage at the required level if you prefer a light touch tell the masseuse as they have no other way of knowing so i comply with his request i raise myself on my tiptoes and i press into his shoulders with all the might i can muster he screams in front of all his mates and they stopped talking and i innocently go oh sorry i thought you liked it hard would you prefer medium pressure instead he nods and i moved on to my standard no extra pressure technique he paid me 20 pounds for a 10 minute massage and i left having done what was asked of me so if you were in the same situation and you obviously were being kind of objectified like that would you try and give it all your might and that extra hard massage too let me know in the comments down below this next story is by megatronia how i used to maliciously comply on the regular another story on here made me remember my time working at an office supply store with a furniture department so i thought i would share i was in my mid-20s at the time and worked specifically in said furniture department so my days were spent lifting the flat-packed furniture boxes and shifting around the display furniture to suit the whims of the corporate idiots who constantly changed their mind on how stuff should be displayed i was also just a generally very active person who was quite fit and six feet tall ah but i am also gasp a woman so there was at least one guy a week who on seeing me walk out from the storeroom with their item would immediately say oh i can take it from here and here is how it would go down every time no that's okay sir i'll take it up to the counter for you and then out to your car so you can load it guy who was half the time shorter than me no i can do it well it's actually quite heavy sir and management prefers we do it for you don't worry i'm happy to help and this is my job well if it's heavy you should let me take it off your hands like i said sir this is my job so i do this all day and this box really is much heavier than it looks it's fine let's just go up to the counter keep in mind i'm saying all this with a cheery smile whilst on the inside i'm thinking this box is freaking heavy and standing here arguing with you is not making it any freaking lighter we could have been at the counter by now you freaked hard but i grew up helping out my mother in her store so sounding pleasant and keeping up the cheery facade while mentally cursing out a customer is something i excel at just give me the box are you really sure like i said sir it's much heavier than it looks well if you can lift it so can i okay then sir at which point i would hand off the box and try not to laugh as the guy would inevitably struggle with many curse words under their breath half the time they would either drop or nearly drop it within 15 seconds i would always then let them take it to the counter and after they were done paying would offer once again to help them get it out to their car some would take me up on it most let their pride get in their way and would struggle to carry it out to the parking lot waldstein giggled away inside and he hearings with my tale of how i let the big strong men take the heavy box off my hands as a guy i understand the mentality and plus there's probably a factor of pride in it for a number of those guys too especially when they say they'll take it and op says no it's fine i got it it's kind of heavy that being said is kind of like just straight targeting these men and their brains to being like i am being challenged i cannot step down from this hey if you want to help me out and carry the box to my car more power to you usually i'm just not the kind of person that wants something taken out to the car for me that's really my only thing this next story is by infinite light 5425 she asked for a blanket so i gave her one i had some friends over one man with his wife the other three females one of the females we'll call jane had a baby two months ago and this is the first time that we have seen her she was away at families when she had her baby so this was a small unplanned baby shower for her after an hour or so her baby got fussy and she started breastfeeding her baby one of the friends started looking upset and asked don't you think you should cover up especially since there was a man here we all just kind of looked at her my male friend said it's okay his wife breastfeeds and his wife nods her head well this upset friend and looked towards me and said to get a blanket so i got her one and she said no it's to cover up with so i did as she asked and opened up the blanket all the while all the other people were giving me a strange look and i covered friend's head and sat back down friend got mad and took it off and said not that jane needs to cover i said what for friend gets up and tries to put the blanket on jane i finally had enough and said if she didn't like seeing someone breastfeed then she can either look away or leave yeah she got mad saying how i'm choosing jane over her and that she's known me longer i told her that you should know by now that i don't believe in covering up regardless of where you are at and that it's at my house i also told her that she knows what a pain it is trying to cover up a breast in a screaming wiggling baby's mouth so have a nice day so yeah she is mad at me but the rest of us had a good time visiting you really gotta read the room here if everybody else is completely okay with the situation and really the idea is all about trying to make the situation as comfortable as possible for the mother at an unplanned baby shower for her nonetheless you should be able to look past it and get over it you're all adults and it's at a private residence and it's completely normal and natural everybody's done it just about so if you want a blanket go ahead and put it over your head easy solution our next story is by stuff junk 2000 college class not required this is not my story but my friends read another story and it reminded me of this been a while so not completely accurate but i got the gist of it not sure if it goes here but here we go my friend was in college and needed a couple more credits to be a full-time student there wasn't any other classes available that semester that applied towards his major so he decided to just take a class that interested him i don't remember what his major was but the class he chose was part of the business curriculum there were no problems for most of the year until the last assignment came up the teacher explained for the last project everyone will be splitting up into groups of five or six people this assignment is worth fifty percent of your grade if you don't complete it it is an automatic fail you will be using what i have taught you to finish the class split up and were assigned roles there were management groups and worker groups a management group would be teamed up with a worker group and a contact had to be completed as if the workers and the managers work at the same company the workers were to negotiate the best deal for themselves more money time off benefits etc while the managers were trying to get them for the least amount they could my friend was in a management group a lead negotiator was to be chosen from each group no one in his group wanted to so he volunteered they sat at a table on opposing sides and started fred is my friend leo is the lead negotiator for workers chad is one of the people in his group leo says if you don't agree to all our demands we won't sign the contract and you will fail fred says okay how about you write down what you want and we will go from there they went to a table nearby and started writing down different things chad says we need a contract to pass the class fred says don't worry we'll have one after a couple minutes they return leo says this is what we want two hundred dollars an hour eight weeks vacation eight weeks sick time all insurance paid by company and no matter what we do you can't fire us fred says nope i don't agree i'm not signing leo says if you don't sign you will fail the class fred said so will you leo says fine by me fred says okay just keep in mind i don't need this class to graduate where it seems you do from the look on your face his eyes opened really wide and his mouth dropped open leo says if you don't need this class why are you here fred says i needed a couple extra credits and this class caught my attention so i figured i'd give it a try now how about a more reasonable contract leo says uh if i don't like it i'm still not signing they walked away from the table to rewrite the contract chad says you may not need this class but the rest of us do we need a signed contract fred said don't worry we will have one they came back with the numbers reduced fred said nope i'm not signing this either as time passed the worker group was becoming more and more agitated after a couple more drafts they sat at the table leo says by law we are entitled to this fred says okay you can have that leo says and we are also entitled to this fred said yep that's not a problem they wrote down the basics of what workers need leo says are you okay with this fred says yes i'm ready to sign a few are the teacher announced that everyone had a contract by the end of class and no one automatically failed then the teacher said with a smile but within the groups you know which side did better it's always a game of leverage right if management has more leverage most of the time they're going to be getting the beneficial deal if the workers can unionize or get whatever kind of demands or just they're too vital to the workforce they'll probably have the leverage so op not needing the class is just an example of management having incredible leverage sorry worker group this next story is by brauno p you want to see me in the office thanks for the hour-long break my manager at work is one of those people that doesn't like to do an awful lot and just barks orders at us even when you're in the middle of one of those jobs she specifically asked you to do she will shout at you at the top of her voice across the store to do something else now that she's changed her mind and the cycle continues this ends up with everyone only being able to half finish about five different jobs anyway tonight in the middle of asking me to do a third thing in the space of about 10 minutes whilst shouting at me across the store as if i was some kind of dog she told me she needed to see me in the office to complete our standard one-to-one meetings we have yearly after telling me this i had to go on the till to serve some customers so she said once i was off the till meet her in the office the thing is once i got done she was off barking orders at some other poor soul on the other side of the shop and must have forgotten about what she previously told me so i sat in that office for about an hour and a half without her or anybody else checking in on me thank the lord for youtube and unlimited data all i can say is that i would probably hate to work under this person just always so frantic on your toes having to do all these different jobs i would get sick of that really quickly our next story is by pastel parrot 616 freshman year i didn't say a single word for the entire semester during my freshman year of high school i had a world geography class which i had some friends in and therefore i was pretty vocal maybe more than i should have i admit it was about halfway through the school year when my teacher got on my case about talking too much and told me that if i said another word i would be sent to the principal's office now i was in a class with all of my friends and some girls i liked so naturally i wanted to show off so i didn't say a single word for the rest of that class after the class everyone thought it was somewhat funny so i didn't say anything the next class then i got the idea that i wouldn't say a word in that class for the rest of the year this teacher was brand new his first year teaching so he did not know how to handle such a thing every day he would call attendance messing with me because i didn't say anything or he would call on me for questions but i didn't say a word the teacher was a cool guy and never got really mad but he never told anyone to not say another word i had a notebook that i would write questions in and my grades never suffered looking back i was being really extra and immature but it makes me laugh every time i think about it now this is the next level of petty and malicious compliance keeping this up for months on end that is a commendable level of compliance kudos to opie and our final story of the day is by uberwatchin i can't stay to have dinner with my friends okay i guess i'll walk home 14 kilometers and get you in trouble i did this when i was 6 or 7 years old i used to live in a very rural area in south america and went to a rural school 14 kilometers away from town we used to be brought to school by a school van but the lady who should look for us at the end of the shift will always be late this school has a dining plan for the poor kids who didn't have their parents home to cook for them or just because to insure them food most of my friends used to stay and eat this delicious rustic rural food while we the kids from town will stay outside waiting for the van lady to come and get us totally hungry and tortured by the smells and the scene me tired of this decided that i would sit down on the table with my friends i did it for a week or so and always got away with it and went in the van to my house until one day the principal caught me red-handed and started to told me off that i couldn't eat and in her words go home you can't stay here so i took her words i grabbed my backpack went out hidden some woods waited for the van lady to go away and when everything was clear started walking to the route and went home i didn't care for how much time it would take me for me it was an adventure and i was following my principal's words an hour into the hike a police patrol found me in the middle of a valley with no people around with my little backpack in the south argentinian spring hey what are you doing alone in the middle of nowhere what's your name and they brought me home i always felt so proud of doing this and wanted to share my principal didn't get into real trouble and neither did the van lady because my mom agreed that it was shared fault between the principal and the van lady so well it was fun i showed my principal that i could and i would get them into trouble but even after that i didn't get what i wanted eat at the school before going home anyway thanks for reading poor little kid just smelled all the delicious food and just wanted to be able to enjoy it with their friends i can understand it's a 14 kilometer ride that probably takes a good while to get home you're probably pretty hungry after school i think about when i got off of school i definitely got a snack somewhere and even for me the bus ride home was about 30 minutes and that felt like forever so i definitely don't blame op for wanting to do that and wanting to get some of the food and frankly doing so but with that being said that's all the time we have for today so if you have a favorite story of the day let
