hello and welcome to the red letter media commentary track for batman and robin i'm jay i'm mike i'm rich and this is a joel schumacher film oh boy is it ever [Music] and here we have arnold schwarzenegger getting top billing which happened with uh jack nicholson in the first movie too because they're the same caliber of actor what would happen if they were both in a movie together oh my god so this is shocking to me because you know arnold at this point i mean his star was kind of fading right i mean terminator 2 was a few years before this number of years before this yeah this was around the time of like eraser and it was after last action hero which i don't think is a bad movie but it was like a big bomb so his star was fading but i think he was still the biggest star in this movie at the time wasn't george clooney a bigger star because er was hot [ __ ] he was a big tv what are you talking about he had a he had a great film career remember welcome to moose port that was a hit [Music] so here we have butt [ __ ] and that's butt [ __ ] and that's how we're starting our batman movie you forgot nipples we got to mention the nipples the famous nipples the famous nipples on the bat suit that's the thing that everybody goes to when they talk about why this movie sucks and it's like that's the least of those movies problems right right [Music] jill schumacher mentioned that in the commentary for batman forever he said nipples on the batsuit became an international thing like and he said everyone needs to get a life and he's right you know to a certain extent he's right you know it wasn't so much the nipples for me as it was the cod piece you know with joel directing of course i kind of played that up a little bit but uh i didn't i didn't think twice about it although now i kind of look back in some of the pictures and i'm like that is a little unusual i suppose quick we defend joel schumacher for a little bit because i know i know he's capable of good movies he did falling down he did uh lost boys i love the lost boys i mean is is this movie really just kind of a studio monster where they wanted can't be child-friendly batman yes it's well it's i think i think they're equal to blame no i mean joel schumacher to me like rich said he's made a lot of good films a lot of varying films like falling compare falling down to this oh sure eight millimeter did anyone see that with michael's cage that's a pretty tough oh yeah yeah i've seen that that's him yeah that scene where he's burning the giant pile of child is it's very similar to the scene where george clooney slides down the back of a dinosaur they're just they're cinematic equivalents see the tragedy is when you think of joel schumacher now you think of arnold schwarzenegger dressed like mr freeze making ice puns yes and you think of nipples on the bats yes and you think of me when everyone talks about joel schumacher that's what they go to don't eat up belle i'll cancel the pizza uh-oh i don't know hell better cancel the pizzas it looks like he's having horrible gas [Music] i'll cancel the pizzas oh this is very 1960s oh god this yeah why is commissioner gordon in like a like a street cop uniform now he just wore like a suit and tie in all the other movies you've gotta you've gotta recognize him as cop because how often do we see gordon in these movies that's true he's he's practically an extra in this movie rich the most most of the audience is here to see pat hingle okay not arnold schwarzenegger george clooney chris o'donnell lisa silverstone or uma thurman they're here to see pat hingle god damn it he's a [ __ ] star uh so here's arnold uh turning people into plasticine wax i mean ice i mean ice i know there's a part towards the end of the movie where there's one giant ice skull and you can see it like wobbling yeah because it's rubber yeah arnold is is terrible in this movie you lie he's not a great actor to begin with but he's i mean everybody in this movie should be embarrassed but he's particularly bad well i mean what else do you do with this material well that's the thing and we can talk about this when um thurman comes up later but she seems to be going for it as far as the like campy over-the-top acting she seems to get that and get that this is all a joke i'll include an evening of my company for the winner i'll bring everything you see here plus everything you don't well when i'm good i'm very good but when i'm bad i'm better but everybody else just seems kind of confused they're just sort of acting normal yeah and george clooney's not acting at all he's just being george clooney even when he's batman like when he jumps down here and he says hi freeze i'm batman [Music] i freeze i'm batman like he doesn't even try to say it in any sort of threatening way tongue-in-cheek and then it's not even tongue-in-cheek though he just kind of says it i freeze i'm batman part-time well mom george clooney is acting like this is near the end of his career where he just doesn't care but this is this is when he was a rising star yet here he is huge movie phoning it in how weird is that i think it's more that he just didn't know what he was supposed to do he's supposed to be bruce wayne he's acting like george clooney yeah no he's supposed to be batman here and he's acting like george clooney there's a minute there that you go well do i want to be the third batman in the fourth batman picture that can be a little worrisome because the other three were very successful and the only thing you can do is screw it up that's really the only result you know bruce wayne george clooney acting like george clooney when he's bruce wayne in this movie fine like this movie sucks and there's no sort of dark element or or tortured soul element to batman you know we talked about this because there's some pages originally written that had him you know dealing with his parents being dead again and i said you know he's a 35 year old guy who lives in a giant mansion and has billions of dollars and goes out with the most beautiful women in the world and has the coolest toys and is batman and i don't think anybody is going to feel sorry for and listen to a guy going woe is me my parents died when i was four so if they just want to have him play like generic playboy man fine but at least have some distinction between that and batman i'm fine with his performance in this because nothing matters in this like there is nothing that's that's of any consequence like this scene is totally out of the 1960s batman like what so i could just see some studio person go what is mr freeze's uh he's got to have uh uh henchmen what are they like hockey players because cold and like uh it's cold where do these people come from there's no you know yeah he did that in the la they did that in the last batman movie too or it's like everyone just has henchmen and why they tried to give some sort of motivation for it and the the tim burton ones like why these characters would have you know people that help them out or why they'd have henchmen but here it's nothing matters my theory is that some some executive uh he was it was only familiar with the the 60s batman grew up with adam west and was just confused by the burton movie and he why isn't why isn't batman camp where's where's the kapow sound effect was it george lucas was he in charge of this movie yeah he's george lucas okay where's where's the film [Laughter] robin's a funnier character than we've ever had before some parents contend that batman returns which is rated pg-13 is actually being marketed for younger children and the movie is just too violent batman there's something going on at mcdonald's better check it out it's the batman happy meal with one or more batman toys there's the press and go razor penguin rollstar catwoman one toy with the champion you buy batman this is really big batman the wire work in this movie is just atrocious but mike it's a comic book oh it's a comic book yeah yeah that's an infuriating thing that joel schumacher would constantly say in his commentary tracks and so that you would feel that it was a new comic book before it take joel would pick up his megaphone his bullhorn and go remember everybody it's a cartoon so and that kind of set the tone in the the style of joel's batman this scene will not win the award for under acting but hey it's a comic book he doesn't seem to understand the difference between a movie and a comic book he's not saying it's a comic book movie right he says tommy this is tommy lee jones first comic book you're like what he also said something like there's a more characterization and depth to these characters than there there is in a comic book oh my god is that that about these movies yeah yeah and it's like i obviously joel schumacher does not read comic books or have any any understanding of the source material or anything um or respect i should say not that you should but because like rich says comic books are made for four-year-olds right rich oh yeah i said that all the time well give us a little bit oh my god this suddenly became an austin powers film yeah this is very much like the dr evil's escape pod or something i mean what what backstory do you want i mean there's not much relevant i mean you could you could argue that this is a a throwback to like 50s 40s era batman with robin that was a bit sillier but i think i think at this time uh the fans were enamored with like the dark knight returns 80s 80s batman when when batman started to get dark and and a return to camp was not at all welcomed by anybody in the comic book community at that point in time well i don't think it was welcomed by anybody because this movie didn't do well i think people went to batman forever because the first two were popular and they're like okay we'll see this new one uh jim carrey's in it and he was the hot ticket at the time and then you get to this one and it's just taking the worst elements of batman forever and just amping them up well they went with a dif a slightly different direction with batman forever a little more goofy i i hate tommy lee jones in that movie yes that's the worst probably villain performance in any comic book movie in any movie [Music] [Music] [Music] [Laughter] my thanks to the academy for the very finest the greatest award that any actor can ever receive the only thing a man can say at a time like this is and i like tommy lee jones he's a great actor but man yeah worse than george clooney in this i mean and not even trying not even trying uh well charming jones is trying too hard and he has no idea what he's doing yeah jim carrey you give him the wacky psychopath roll he does fine uh he's over the top but you know that's jim carrey they needed they needed two-face to be like more sinister yeah more sinister more stoic more strange but instead he's like he's like laughing hysterically it's it's just awful but joel schumacher makes batman forever and like you said jay people go to see it it's the third batman movie oh there's a new batman it's the highest grossing of any of these oh sure i think really i think so i could be wrong maybe not more than the first batman not positive it's it's it's setting the stage for disaster because the success of it gave joel schumacher and the producer i forget his name on this like carte blanche to just go hog wild having to use his own words exciting and a little extreme it was sort of like saturday night fever on acid yes well and also work in elements of the movie that are specifically there just to sell toys we involved the toy company we let them look and be involved in how the batmobile was going to look how batman's gadgets were going to be which they wanted this is key to them they need a lot of lead time yeah there's an element of that too where it's like oh now they're they're on surfboards flying through the sky we can make a toy of that you know i don't remember too many toys from this were there a lot jungle venom poison ivy itches to destroy the dynamic duo with a dose of toxic terrorism apparently there was because that was the joel schumacher is very candid about saying that too oh they yeah they would come up to him and say here's toys work these into the movie and then we're gonna sell the [ __ ] out of them a word i had never heard before more toyetic which means that what you create makes toys that can sell why does mr freeze have butterfly wings because he's anticipating this happening rich you gotta be prepared everybody everybody's prepared for everything all the time in these movies he was anticipating having to leave the museum on a rocket ship and that the rocket ship would would explode mid-air and you'd have to jump out with butterfly wings hey for some reason batman and robin both had ice uh blades built into their shoes yes and at the end of well that's a different movie but i was gonna say at the end of uh batman forever batman just happened to bring along a hundred coins that are similar yeah that he just throws up in the air where was he storing those in his butt crack that's why they kept that's why they showed his butt in the beginning this is foreshadowing okay that's at least more acceptable because batman would know two faces little oh shut up and you could that that's something that he could logically prepare for that's true confusing that makes some sense you can't anticipate that you can't anticipate needing ice skates at a museum robbery when you don't know freeze before this that's true that's true yeah they don't know mr freeze at this point right he's not like a known villain in this this movie i don't think so we're in this world nope i mean we are about to get bane that's not bad this is that's bane this is tom hardy's first uh time playing bain but sometimes something really special comes along and it's very rare that something this special would come along this is monster man who also happens to be wearing a mask those those props are terrible yeah this is such a bizarre movie because it simultaneously looks super expensive and super cheap yeah this movie it's barely a movie it's like watching money burn on screen they did not put a lot of budget into the science lab because they're just like cheap tubes from a hardware store and what more do you need they're doing science experiments the comical like flasks with the colored liquid [Laughter] it's just terrible yeah uma thurman really is the only one that kind of comes out of this movie unscathed because she knows exactly what it is and what was she this was 97 so this is post-pulp fiction yep so she's somewhat well known at this point oh no uh oh was she ever huge yeah maybe kill bill would be the closest oh yeah god yeah [ __ ] yeah i've blanked on kill bill yeah i mean she's never been like uh oh god i don't know who's a big female star kathleen turner oh my god how old are you now she's a big female star [Laughter] so so the chemicals are strong enough to burn a hole in the ground i guess right but they just give her superpowers they only melt concrete yeah so here's mr freeze's backstory the security cameras in his uh lab uh look like cinematic but there's somebody filming there i wonder if that was like a like a a scene an actual scene in the movie like maybe it was the opening or something oh possibly and then they just reused it repurposed it for this so there he falls there's just an explosion for no reason okay that liquid is 50 below but somehow he survived and that's our explanation but he survives somehow so he has to remain um at zero degrees oh no [Laughter] uh it's all just so embarrassing alfred [Music] going too far with the camp you end up with this and it's just the worst it's good entertainment for for little kids i guess right what this movie yeah i guess i mean they can kind of follow what's going on there's too many subplots in this movie though or you that just get lost i remember re-watching this you know in preparation for this commentary and alicia silverstone is introduced and then she disappears for like 40 minutes yeah and she comes back and you're like oh that's right she's in this that was the big i mean not that that was the only thing that was wrong with this movie but squeezing in batgirl was just stupid and pointless yeah it's like um the movie's called batman and robin like just focus on them you don't need batgirl in this it's just so dumb then you can make another action figure yeah exactly is that another action figure thing and batgirl and her blazing night strike cycle blast in and that's that's the goal of this movie it's not to tell a competent exciting batman and robin story it's just to sell toys did they ever make an alfred action figure i hope so because i would feel very bad uh for the actor that plays alfred if they didn't what's his name his name is michael gaush i think no i think it's pronounced michael goh oh but now he's michael gone [Music] because he's dead wow that was good timing on that joke just as he disappears yep [Laughter] okay so here uh poison ivy she finds this beaker or whatever that has wayne enterprises on it and that's her entire motivation just on a whim she happened to notice that logo and that's her entire motivation for becoming a villain for the rest of the movie yeah like what if she didn't notice that logo what would she be doing right now well she's crazy now well it is revealed that wayne enterprises is funding her their whole laboratory but i i don't know if if she knows that she just sees that beaker and like oh i guess that's who's responsible it's like i don't know does she show at the up at the pyrex uh cat world headquarters is that what you know what i mean who would want to be mr frieza's henchman it looks it looks pretty miserable yeah makes you sing it's like that's another thing that always confused me how does the joker ever get henchman i mean is he he goes around killing people with like gas in the first movie it's it's jack palance's people right yeah and then he kills jack palance or whatever and kind of takes over the nolan ones it's like mentally mental patience yeah it's kind of a stretch there finding a lot of mental patients who just happen to be willing to go along with them right there's a lot of mental patients at least it's something here it's like who are these guys why would they follow him and that was so that was just vivika fox who showed up for five seconds for no reason who was also uh a co-star of uma thurmans and kill bill that's right jay and later in this movie jesse ventura shows up did you even notice him whenever he watched it no well he plays a prison guard and so it's a little predator reunion oh my god and then at the end of the movie the predator shows up i was just gonna ask that is the predator in this you know they did a comic book batman versus predator really haven't they done a versus two in comic books didn't they do something with archie like archie and something weird they've done they've done a couple weird archie ones they did archie meets the punisher does he violently murder jughead he's trying no he mistakes archie for like a criminal because archie looks just like this mobster that the punisher is trying to kill i haven't read it but i know it's like the punisher trying to kill archie okay that needs to be a feature film so mr frieza's wife is played by vendela do you guys remember vendela uh no she was a big model at the time i think it was like a sports illustrated thing but they cast her in this they cast uh mcpherson mcpherson so just whoever was was popular supermodel time threw him in the movie the the tragedy is at at the time i mean mr freeze is originally just almost just just a complete schlock character this is the freeze gimmick guy but around this time before this movie they're turning him into like a soulful tragic character [Music] okay and then they cast arnold schwarzenegger and thought i sponsored i'm gonna he's a pretty soulful tragic character in this movie rich i mean his wife is frozen that's pretty sad oh oh alfred was in the bathroom those pizzas again should have canceled those pizzas sorry master wayne i was taking a dump and here we have the best performance in the movie uh alicia silverstone just a great great actress oh yeah she's brilliant she's she's one for the ages she's she looks like she's had a stroke [Laughter] would you say she's clueless oh i was wondering when that was gonna happen i actually had no idea that there was a batgirl yeah but that's a case of they didn't cast any i mean first of all batgirl shouldn't be in this movie but they didn't cast like anyone that would be right for they just cast her because she was super huge at the time chris donnell was big at the time it was a demographic thing yeah exactly i don't want to say that i'm a 14 year old girl i don't want to watch batman robin oh the clueless girl that's the most accurate uh impression of a teenage girl i've ever heard thanks i think these guys are jerks like i can't believe that these guys are having this dear old man as their slave to me they're he's just a slave to them there's a touching story about family yeah i wanted to mention that too that's a weird thing that they decided that that's what this the theme of this movie would be is family it's about family and that's what's so powerful about it that's what batman's all about because there's so many [ __ ] characters what else do you do i guess um alfred has some kind of disease mcgregor syndrome yeah some [ __ ] like that yeah i think that's what it's called and it's the same thing that arnold arnold's wife has who's floating in the tank and arnold found the cure for stage one mcgregor syndrome and so alfred's like in on his death bed and he's like 140 years old and then at the end of the film they use uh mr freeze's research to save uh alfred it's like i thought you were planning to kill him off so that you can replace him oh you've you've cured him so he could live for another week and then die of old age good job batman well it's the closest thing this movie has to any sort of emotional element is oh alfred might die but this entire scene here like they're trying to have a little touching scene between the two of them but isn't the entire point of the scene just that she realizes that alfred's is that his wife in that picture yeah i think so yeah or or wilford's wife or something i think that but her nickname is peg or her shortened name is peck and that's what the password is later in the movie for alicia silverstone to hack into his computer and discover all the batman [ __ ] where she discovers his only yeah but that's pretty much the only point of the scene right well and to show that they're they're very awkwardly close to each other in a very strange sexual way but at the beginning of that scene we're watching this with subtitles and she came in the subtitle said i came to tuck you in but i just glanced at it and i thought it said something else for a minute oh my god uncle alfred i came to [ __ ] you oh my god alfred puts the butt in butler so here alicia silverstone steen silverstone whatever the [ __ ] her name is she even though she could have walked out the front door she makes because she's a person of free will and not a prisoner it's trying to give her some sort of characteristics she's going to steal i'm going to go to the store okay yeah you didn't have to make an uh an escape rope from a giant [ __ ] mansion that it's possible no one would have seen you leave anyway hey is this a back lot anyways um uh oh so this gives her her uh her superhero cred yeah and now even though no one has any clue who poison ivy is she has to put on a disguise and bane is also wearing a disguise because yeah his face doesn't give it away nobody has a hat off he has a head-on and a trench coat rich is that an accurate representation of the comic book bane yes at the time i think the thing that pissed me off the most about this movie was the betrayal of vayne really yeah everything everything pissed me off about this movie i'm just saying the thing that pissed me off the most did you see this in theaters rich yeah you did yeah oh wow even i was done by this point and i was the biggest fan of that first movie when i was a little kid i thought it was the greatest like ever but after batman forever is like i'm done sorry i didn't even bother with this one in the theater i saw this movie with a girl never never saw her again was that during the movie you never saw her again where'd you go i turned over and she said she's gonna go get more popcorn and then she vanished from the earth is it true this new telescope can see all around the globe yes if you'll just watch these monitors right here dr lee satellites already in orbit allow us to reflect light from any given point around the plant just don't point it in my bedroom so this woman on the left here is journalist lady she's also in batman forever and for the longest time i was like who the [ __ ] is that because she has this really obnoxious voice and they treat her like a real character for no reason and then i discovered it's actually bob kane's wife so they put her in the movie because it's bob keynes bob kane's wife yeah jesus christ it'll hit a little bit of hugh hefner going on what what we're not talking about mcpherson yeah not elle mcpherson oh he's talking about the holy [ __ ] dude the news reporter the lady with the white glasses she's like okay that that makes more sense to me now elle mcpherson was never married to bob kane as far as i know yeah she was just [ __ ] him that's all he had never experienced this before you know this scene is is exactly the same scene uh edward enigma uh confronts bruce wayne yeah this is the previous film it's the exact same scene she thinks she she knows exactly what needs to be done and bruce wayne's like well no if we're being realistic about it here's the problems with it yeah and then that's your motivation right and and you know what if if this is indeed supposed to be the same bruce wayne from the last film he should know from history just to like go okay crazy person yeah let me take a look at this and i'm going to read it this sounds like a great idea i'm going to get back to you on this rather than shutting them down in public and embarrassing them again it's like poetry so if they rhyme and rich you said bob kane is a as a fraud yeah essentially yeah how why is that uh because basically the real creator of batman is this guy named bill finger bob kane's like original version is like entirely different i think he's wearing like a red helmet and i don't know this is even a bat theme and billfinger came in and said no yeah do this this and that make him look a bat give him like a bat cape make it dark make it mysterious he basically did everything that was batman came from bill finger and then bob kane took all of the credit and bill finger died penniless [Laughter] oh no no it's one of these scenes we have a 20 minute long introduction of whatever this is isn't convenient that it's a jungle themed party and their villain is poison ivy but she shows up in a giant monkey costume yes which is very bizarre i guess that's their way of sneaking in even though she has an invitation yeah i don't understand anything that's going on [Laughter] here's a scene for all the furries out there you got uma thurman stripping from a gorilla costume i don't know what you're doing that's somebody's fetish wouldn't the furries want uma thurman to put on a gorilla costume i guess i don't know the the nature of furry culture and what they what they are into but oh my god look at all of this we got goofy animal costumes and tarzan men how did we get to this point uh a flamboyant gay director named joel schumacher okay that's how we got to this point jay and now batman and robin just spend the rest of the movie bickering over poison ivy right even though she's a villain well she works her magical spell on them she's enchanted them with her her pixie dust i always wondered too about the there's always the black makeup around batman robin's eyes and that's been the case since the tim burton movies well it's like in batman returns at the end of the movie he rips his mask off and it's magically gone yeah so it's like you do that so when you're lighting batman all dark and dim you know it just makes his eyes look like they're in shadow but when you have this brightly lit scene and it's clearly just like nobody cared anymore at this point i i mean maybe i noticed it i don't remember i haven't watched that movie in a while but most of the time the way it's lit it's like lit from behind or lit overhead so it just casts big shadows so all it does is help hide his eyes more it's not meant to be where he's got black makeup on and here yeah you know it's just clearly just black makeup completely even lighting and extreme close-ups and you could see every detail of the makeup yeah it's not good but even clooney's mask it's like the eye holes are much bigger than the previous ones yeah they almost go all the way down to like the cheekbone it's huge right and this is still the batman costume where he can't turn his head left or right and we didn't get out of that until the second nolan movie they actually put a line of dialogue in the movie where he says i want to be able to turn my head you want to be able to turn your head i sure went back and out of the driveway easier like why did it take them so long to come up with a costume design where baby could actually turn his head why isn't it possible it's just not why not you stupid bastard look how big those eye holes are yeah yeah i'm looking at it now that does look awful the cow can be one thick thing i just don't know there's any reason it needs to be made out of rubber that's so thick you can't turn your head yeah i really don't know or care i know do you care about the bat credit card which is like a joke out of a zucker brothers movie and that's it's weird because it's the only gag like that in this movie the gospel the goth card yeah it's like a at least making product placement we seem to be down to our last diet cook just for the taste of it right that's a weird thing too is like yeah that's the type of gag you put in there if you had a deal with mastercard or visa or something but it's a made up credit card company and it's a terrible joke that means somebody just thought it was funny yeah it's not not explainable it's the most significant achievement of my professional life and may very well be the most significant achievement of my professional life and i'm perfectly happy with that because this is the most important subject the most personal subject to me and i'm so grateful to have been acknowledged for this particular movie if this movie was just filled with jokes like that i think i would enjoy it a lot that's the thing is that's the only gag like that like the rest the movie's campy or whatever but it doesn't have any sort of fourth wall breaking nonsense jokes like that right except for that one it's so embarrassing [Laughter] never never go to a charity ball where batman's around yeah it sounds inevitable that a bad guy's gonna show up because he knows he's there yep especially a bad guy they they pursued and lost five minutes ago so if anyone's actually trying to follow along look at that that looked convincing well what what are those things that they keep punching through they're like [ __ ] trays like serving trays but why they show them so many times that i don't know somebody thought they were neat cool party [Laughter] well this may be a good time i don't know if it's if it is or isn't but it's never a good time to bring up the puns i wrote down all the ice puns there's a lot of punny kind of lines in in this movie and i don't know if that's i don't know you rich you always complain that spider-man movies never had enough uh quick twists or kind of lines like that but this movie's just filled with them how do you feel about that well if you're going for camp batman i mean there is precedent adam west batman that's fine if you're going for dark knight batman not fine at all but this it's almost somewhere in between yeah visually you know it's dark it's got that weird tim burton gothy look um not quite bright enough to be uh straight up adam west homage right yeah yeah kind of in the middle i like this little sequence i like all the miniatures and how they're riding down the arm and some of the cg is a little dated but whatever but the thing that bothers me about this is batman's like you're a hot head robin i'm going to deactivate your motorcycle because this is too dangerous of a jump yeah but at the beginning of the movie they were surfing through the air is this really a safe spot to disable that too yeah they're going down on a you know a downward slope now he's definitely going to die he could just yeah they could just keep sliding down he'd fall off the building yeah he almost did just try to kill him [Music] this is a stupid shot well the stupid thing about this is like we don't even get to see like you could have a cool fist fight between them it's arnold schwarzenegger and batman yeah and they just don't even show anything well he probably can't move in that plastic costume yeah i guess they filmed it was terrible so they just just stand on him he just fell down and he can't get up could it be an arnold schwarzenegger ego thing where he wouldn't want to be bested in hand combat by a character see i just fell down i guess that's fine and then he stood on me in fact i'm in a lot of scenes with mr freeze i never worked a single day with arnold not a single day i was on the south him a lot you know i'd hang out and talk to him i had a lot of publicity with him but literally they had a double for him that was so good and that suit was so complicated and involved to get on that unless arnold was talking in a scene he wasn't in that costume it was a movie where there were a lot of devils so anyway back to those ice puns would you like to hear them all yes yes i would okay it starts off with um the iceman cometh not a pun that condition has left me cold the this is everything cold related it's not all puns okay the ultimate fate in the universe everything freezes you're not sending me to the cooler who killed the dinosaurs the ice age which is not actually incorrect actually incorrect um uh freeze well stay cool bird boy can you be cold batman my passion thaws for my bride alone all right everyone chill cool party it's a cold town batman allow me to break the ice and then this one's weird always winterize your pipes chilled to perfection that was not bad their bones will turn to ice their blood will freeze revenge is a dish bust serve cold tonight hell freeze is over let's kick some ice oh that's that's that is a pun it's terrible but and freeze in hell batman i don't even know what that means so it's it's it's a sad situation of the way money is handled here in this town especially in show business but you know i was very lucky that i had the business background that i studied business and they always was very smart and shrewd about business oh wait remember when alicia silverstone was in this movie no i don't well here she is or at least her double we don't get any looks at her face she could only film for five minutes that day batman batman did a horrible job of training robin he just got beat by a teenage girl he wasn't expecting her to have super ninja skills rich where did she learn to super i was gonna say do they explain that at all no well you know just a few lessons you know uh london is kind of rough look at this this acting here it's just heartbreaking oh my god this is the worst ever that's like what arnold looks like now [Laughter] someone said to expendables three they already made expendables three did they expendables four they they're cranking them out aren't they yeah you got you got to make them before everybody dies i don't this movie doesn't seem to have as much of an intrusive like uh hip soundtrack no i remember that the batman forever did [Music] there was like what was it you two was on there and like the flaming lips and smashing pumpkins that was a good soundtrack actually there was i think there's like one song from this one i don't even remember what it is yeah that was a well selling um popular soundtrack yeah yeah it's just it's a surprise they didn't try it with this maybe they didn't it just didn't have as good songs oh wait here's the subplot oh yeah mcpherson wants to get married and bruce wayne doesn't and then she just leaves the movie there's there's no point to any of those she doesn't it's not like he's even conflicted about it and and she's not even a character she's just supermodel in movie right her she's terrible at looping her dialogue too oh really it's it's like a like a foreign film there's this like bizarre whisper [Laughter] she has no idea what she's doing i know you're a dedicated bachelor i know you've had your wild nights there's a lot of that bad adr in this film yeah a lot of it it's terrible [Music] [Applause] here's food for thought this is a scene that's like a four-year-old wrote it bruce i think we should get married we've been dating you i'm not the marrying tip well i have to leave now here's food for thought in case you change your mind a kiss i mean i guess there's a thing here where he's picturing poison ivy but we already know that he has a thing for her because she has to spell on him or whatever and i wonder whose decision it was to have him i don't know if that's a to quote mr plinkett a case of the not gays you know it might be because the rest of the movie is just him bickering with robin right that's like the entire movie maybe it's clooney who said that like i'll be in this movie but i don't want batman to be a creepy guy who has a boy living in his house do you know what i mean yeah it's possible like if that was his decision or a studio i'm sure it was someone's you know because it does absolutely nothing for the storyline yeah [Music] who's ivy what you just called me ivy who's ivy i wish i knew oh my god the clockwork orange gang yeah that's embarrassing you should not reference a much better movie in your movie um was she forgotten about the environment and she yeah she wants to turn wait wait shut up it's coolio oh my god how embarrassing and that's coolio he must add a song on the soundtrack probably okay so this uh bike rider guy not that little kid but the one that was just talking to alicia silverstone that's the actor is nikki kat who's also in the dark knight no reason i hope you got some moves pal yeah the guy get on the motorcycle now with the the mohawk thing he's uh like one of the swat guys drive into that big car chase in the middle of uh the dark knight and you know this why jane no one cares i just think it's neat that he's in this and then he was in the dark knight is he only probably the only actor that's been in both that is the least interesting commentary trivia that i've ever heard [Music] you know what also jay they filmed this with cameras oh my god i also found the dark knight [Laughter] i think there's a motorcycle in the dark knight somewhere too he rides he wrote cycle that's a whole big scene in the movie there was a a drum that was filled with with with glitter can we talk about that that's the point we've gotten to who are these guys alicia silverstone has a death wish because her parents died so now she gets into violent motorcycle races and also prepares her and gives her legitimacy to become one of the greatest superhero characters of all time batgirl rich are you embarrassed that you've read comic books i'm embarrassed that i've seen this movie can you imagine having been in this movie you know what it probably would mean i got paid so i'm fine with that yeah that's true that's true so this is where you hang out wow yeah and there there was they were even going to make uh they had plans for the film after this with joel schumacher directing it oh really and they were going to be that was before they were going to have the sandman in it and sandman yeah that's spiderman oh i was going to make a joke that they're going to say he was going to be played by bill cosby because he puts you to sleep you know i [ __ ] it up i'm sorry it still works though because you got to work the joke in what's the guy oh the scarecrow scarecrow yeah that's the guy with the bag on his head do you ever want you ever sit there at night and just think like if this were a christopher nolan movie how would they do mr freeze and poison ivy yeah christopher nolan would never do mr freeze they're obsessed with realism too much but how would you do it yeah is there a way to make that character real i mean they did it with you couldn't you couldn't you couldn't do that he needs to be cold all the time thing you couldn't do the freeze ray it would be so different it may as well be a different character he he would just be like a like a bad person that free puts you in a freezer to kill you and he's a psychopath and that would be a yeah i want like a app on my phone or a website where you say christopher nolanize this villain christopher nolan eyes okay ready rich christopher nolanize uh the green lantern that may be the hardest one of all christopher nolan i think any superhero that can fly you i don't even know if you can christopher nolan he's he's got the ring is like a larger contraption it's it's got a big fat ring around his finger with wires that go down and they're hooked to a huge gauntlet on his arm okay and it doesn't make fancy shapes but it does generate a shield around him and it does shoot out laser beams no no no no no yeah no laser beams you have to you have to have space in alien technology i mean that's the premise the premise is he's a space okay maybe maybe uh uh green lantern is a little too advanced for the christopher nolanizing uh process let's see like green goblin a green goblin oh my god a man with a deformed face okay because of um some kind of acid who who who puts like noxious gas in a pumpkin or acid in real pumpkins and then just throws them and just throws them at you yeah and has like tattered green clothing maybe maybe it would have to be a dark green it'd have to be very dark and muted yeah and disgusting looking can you imagine a christopher nolan movie that just has this version of mr freeze in it i i my mind was wandering there uh with uma thurman and um the bane from dark knight kind of following her around why am i in this movie and he would just like punch her and murder her let me tell you this bane come with me wait would it be this version of the poison ivy and the nolan version of bane yeah yeah okay or what if he just replaced the nolan bane with this bane and he's like the part when he's at towards the end of the movie when he's got everybody in the uh the football field or whatever and he's got the microphone he's just yelling burn instead of some long complicated speech wouldn't sorry i'm just looking at arnold's uh prison uniform it's like gigantic on them yeah wouldn't they have had a problem with having it be too small why is it so big i think they wanted him to seem frail without the suit yeah i don't want to look like big muscular arnold i don't think he's supposed to be a buff man even though everyone knows arnold schwarzenegger is buff and the illusion is just ruined instantly because you know arnold too well yeah he's supposed to be i think i think that a character in the suit gives him power yes well that they did a great job casting him they took the yeah the only thing arnold is known for is being a big buff dude that doesn't that doesn't speak english great arnold should have been bane yeah there you go but i guess he probably wouldn't want to just yell like frankenstein right yeah just write him differently sorry correction frankenstein's monster you have to clarify weren't you gonna get all over that rich no i'm not that anal didn't you know that frankenstein is the name of the scientists and not the monster did you know that did you know that rich that's a common misconception so they're both named frankenstein that's kind of confusing no the the monster doesn't have a name it's it's but it's it's a common misconception but i i've seen actually he has a name it's frankenstein oh my god oh my god did they have a plan to what what they're going to land in or they're just going to jump into the water and hope for the best but they're going to freeze the water so it hurts extra alfred should never have ordered that pizza he gave him gershwin's disease mcgregor's syndrome mcgregor syndrome the pizza we altered master masked away give me mcgregor syndrome i tried to shed it out but it didn't work i've been constipated for the last 15 years my my guts are about your burst the build-up is giving me mcgregor's syndrome and only arnold can cure that because he's also full of [ __ ] eventually i will shut out my mouth and die that's no way for a proper british man to die [Laughter] here's the thing batman i'll see you later she's covering her face but he's not [Music] this big budget film but they skimped on the photoshop they couldn't they couldn't take a photo of them in front of a plane bye commissioner gordon we've been too hard so here's the subplot about uh i think they look at a screen and it's a stage one solved stage two stage three stage four unsolved oh my god is that what happens yeah and then that's how we know that uh arnold has cracked the cure for stage one of mcgregor syndrome conveniently what alfred is afflicted with this looks like a power rangers side it does oh my god this looks too cheesy to be a powerful the power rangers would be embarrassed to film in this location no beauty [Music] just the beast i think that's the big difference between this and the old tv show is like everyone says oh they're both campy or whatever but the old show from what i remember had actual jokes right like it was a comedy show ringside table batman i just looked at thanks i'll stand at the bar i shouldn't wish to attract attention yeah because i remember the movie there's the part when he's got the bomb and it's like hilarious because you can't get rid of the bomb there's like nuns walking by i mean it's an actual joke there's no jokes in this movie it's just corny there's there's an episode of the old tv series where the penguin is running for mayor so batman runs for mayor to stop paying there and like batman is losing the election because he refuses to kiss a baby because he doesn't want to give the baby germs it's not hygienic now that's writing it's more than suspicious it's downright criminal what can you expect from a fake politician like batman oh can we intercut that batman vs bane fight with the one from the nolan film [Laughter] yeah they're both on like a catwalk thing right yeah let's not stand on ceremony here mr wayne you're going to jail but mistaken oh no batman fell on pillows yeah this is just like the dark knight rises isn't it there were giant ice cream cones and uh or just just remake dark knight rises only it's this vein [Laughter] yeah keeping all the long speeches but it's just incomprehensible growling yep [Music] you know when i thought about who could play that threatening a character using only his eyes and his voice uh tom it seems a natural choice oh the leaves on her eyebrows have changed colors i she glues them on she paints taking she bought them at a halloween store and she has to take the time every day to decide which color she wants to put on and also she dyed her hair red and and oh no she put it on she put a wig on yeah that's right she had to get in disguise even though no one knew who she was anyway try not to make a mess when you die [Music] everyone's just falling into pillows and boxes oh my god the end with the rubber lips do you remember that yeah it's so terrible rubber lips robin that's how robin foils uh cat catwoman poison ivy yeah by having rubber he has rubber over his lips i don't remember that but he only peels it off the top lip and it just looks like what he really needed was like those wax lips that that you buy like those comical fake lips yeah it just cuts back and he's just wearing them we didn't notice it before wax lips okay someone make a [ __ ] joke i was i was rich i was holding back who's got it who's got it that's the level we operate on it look at that you almost can't even make a joke it's just too like yeah it looks like come the end yeah i guess i wonder if they got any direction [Laughter] you know considering everybody seems to be in a different movie it's doubtful joel schumacher was more concerned with like the lighting and the the wire work oh wait look at this magical effect how do you direct arnold schwarzenegger how do you do that i don't know you say here's your lines their bones would turn to ice here's the script i say these things look he looks angry here his direction was act angry you're mad you're mad uma told you that batman and robin killed your wife so he knows yeah okay so she [Music] uh unplugs mr frieza's wife yes because she says i want him for myself right or something like that like that's her motivation for doing so sora i think she just wants to get him on her side to kill them okay but her goal is to turn the world eradicate humans and turn the world into a plant paradise yeah and his goal is to freeze the world his goal initially is to cure his wife right yeah i think this is her i i haven't been paying enough attention is this her attempt to change his motivation into destroying the world your wife's dead so now yeah i think so mother nature to start again yeah you hold the dawn of a new age oh jesus christ audrey iii but that's mutant planning there's no like it's that's terrible the animatronics on that that's like something you buy at spencer's gifts this goes left and right yeah anyway uh mr freeze wants to freeze the whole world and then poison avi wants to turn the whole world into a plant world so obviously they work together because these these two goals are completely compatible yes so of course the two villains combine their evil here against our fabulous heroes oh what will happen i'm so worried [Music] they just filmed him in his trailer before filming he's really dying he's got three more stages of the disease before he dies so he'll last another 10 years [Laughter] just keep considering he's already 90 that's pretty good just keep him away from the pizza actually the disease is slowing down his metabolism he might he might live a little bit longer i wonder if he really was sleeping you get them all you get them all prepped in the bed you know my grandpa grandpa nazis here's your job michael you just gotta lay there [Laughter] where they're like we can't just have uh action and toy commercials we have to have scenes so have them talk about stuff that's the movie it's jay the film's about family it's about family and learning to trust trust your partner i'm sorry [Music] [Laughter] [Music] you keep farting like that uncle alfred i'm not gonna have sex with you anymore maybe that's why she wants to have sex with him she's into that oh my god oh my gosh she brings in more pizza keep farting uncle alfred one bad girl two cups [Laughter] oh no you look so much like your mother especially from behind here we are at the telescope dedication yes only family can be trusted well i am family oh god here's the famous password uh guessing scenes this is the famous password guessing scene and then the password turns out to be three letters long i guess this was before people really understood the importance of password uh security yeah when your password is just three letters long yeah uh sitting on a picture right next to your computer yeah margaret access denied [Music] peg access out loud smithers you're quite good at turning me on now this is this is a testament to both joel schumacher's direction and alicia silverstone's acting is when she uncovers uh unlocks the password and uncovers the truth about bruce wayne that he's batman she just looks like she's laughing at smiling and laughing it makes no sense she should be like kind of uh inquisitive but she should just be confused because the images that were seen don't make any sense no it's just pictures of like batmobiles flying around yeah but it's like she's like has this maniacal laugh on her face like she's she just read a hysterical joke and and really should be like what oh my god you know and there's the logo from the movie yeah now she's smiling yeah she should look horribly confused she should but i think they went for oh it's fantastic it's supposed to be like whimsical but it doesn't work at all this is amazing he's batman what is this like but instead she just starts laughing and smiling like someone's tickling her it makes absolutely no sense it's all it's all fine everything's fine it's all fine because none of it matters oh he's trying to act [Laughter] he looks down like look at george clooney's face it's the oh god someone just started but i'm gonna try to be polite he's the butler does he have to keep changing his own sheets [Music] [Laughter] i told you he puts the button butler no no not oh i just changed those i'd love you old man you've you've you served me your whole life but i'm not gonna get you like a nurse or anything no leave as you die in your bed you're 80 and you raised me you're still my [ __ ] butler give me wine oh no you lived a servant you're gonna [ __ ] die my servant yeah that is a subplot in this film batgirl is upset that that alfred was a slave basically and and she wants to free him from his uh servitude to bruce wayne and then that's why he asks him he's like he's like did you have a happy life and he's like i guess and he made her a bat suit even though she didn't he'd even know she was coming and she's well it i'm assuming that he'd made it for after she showed up yeah because he knew that she would find it eventually but he's like sick and on his deathbed yeah when did he make this thing he has a simple illness maybe he made it in case robin never went the other way i don't know [Laughter] does that make sense at all and well no because he does he directly says hi niece you found us yeah i made you a suit so it's specifically made for her that's true he must have tried to like secretly get her measurements when she wasn't looking that's why i kept fondling her breasts yeah yeah yeah she thought he was just a pervy old uncle but he was actually getting her sizes to make her new buttocks alfred made it years ago before he knew that bruce wayne was gay but maybe you know maybe someday there'll be a wife oh oh okay yeah and that explains why he kept trying to fondle l mcpherson too he thought maybe she would be the next back girl yeah he just wasn't interested in elle mcpherson there's just a whole series of scenes that were cut out of this movie of alfred being a creepy pervert and fondling everybody he kept trying to get alicia silverstone's measurements but the farts kept her away i gotta go alfred is this is this how a diamond laser would work a whole bunch of different segments wouldn't you want one flat thing rich rich stop talking now [Laughter] oh my god you're talking about oh i'm sorry let's talk about alfred fartings alfred farting makes more sense than this laser [Laughter] here we have max headroom alfred it's not max headroom like it's just alfred isn't it he glitches a few times and it reminds me of max headroom as such i programmed my brain algorithms into the bat computer and created a virtual simul simulation i like science and stuff i think science and stuff is good the best kids yeah oh my god awesome right i programmed my brain algorithms into the back computer virtual simulation this is just nonsense so that i can be a slave for eternity oh look at that that's that graphic yeah oh no suit me up uncle alfred i designed a female batsuit because that's what gets me off no no i guess to be fair we do get close-ups of her her butt and boobs and and crotch so everybody gets to see the pointless close-ups of anatomy yeah it's very reluctant to put that in the film no joel schumacher talks about that he says he was criticized for over sexualizing both men and women in films in his films okay but i will take responsibility for casting and glorifying beauty and and sexuality in this that's part of the fun of the batman comic book and so like and he he just like goes on and on about how like attractive nicole kidman is i think he's just more like a visual filmmaker as opposed to just like i want to make everything like yeah and he's like he's like people have criticized me for over sexualizing actors he's like that's why they're there he's like no he was like very candid about he's like that's why you put attractive people in a movie because people want to see that i asked for a bigger package apparently chris was tipping the costumer but i did get a nice ass you know and he was listing off like like old older actors you know like from the past 1940s and 50s like he's like people want to see beautiful people in movies whether it's men or women and he's like [ __ ] you i guess that's true you can sexualize them to a point but not to the point where it's like embarrassing well the the clothes do we really need like snap zooms on batman's ass no that's over the top of course but it kind of looks like like a drag queen here a little bit like there's a little bit of the divine i was just gonna say that yeah she looks like divine can you imagine this movie if divine was still alive and they cast divine as poison ivy they should have that would be great poison ivy should have really been an unattractive woman or transvestite yeah because then you'd really see how her magical pheromone powers yeah like a sharp contrast right [Music] that's it oh they were supposed to both come off oh well yeah we just got we just got the top flip we're not going to reset that see the bottom ones start to peel off yeah just sort of stuck there i hate to disappoint you but rubber lips are immune to your charms [Music] see ya oh yeah she goes see ya i think this is really why they introduced batgirl is because they couldn't have batman and robin like fighting a beat up a woman yeah they could never punching and then punching poison ivy oh there's a part coming up where they did like the the uh star wars thing with the tuscan raider you know where they reverse the footage there's a part like that with chris o'donnell where he pops out of the water and then goes back under the water and then they reuse the shot again a few shots later oh yeah yeah it's really bizarre because they don't even need that shot just cut to him under the water yeah that's true it's it's very i thought they thought he needed to take a breath i think maybe yeah because the the that was they wanted something they had to make it believable it's not realistic enough in this movie of rubber icicles and giant plant monsters yeah what what oh she actually says curses which is embarrassing but what's happening here she's being eaten by a cabbage but that was like that was like her throat yeah why does it suddenly eat her okay here's that shot again but now it continues yeah they need a shot where it goes back down and they just they just didn't have it so they just did that thanks to modern editing techniques we can use existing footage to complete the film without milhouse watch looks like we're in trouble for that boy jiminy jillikers radioactive man we'll have to fight our way out are you ready yes so that's the end of poison ivy huh is that the end of her character no she shows up in arkham asylum at the end right but she that's how they they defeat her more or less she falls on her own chair and it closes and they don't handcuff her or turn her over they just leave her there and she hope that the plant doesn't burp her out i guess or she she could just slip out of that opening that her legs are sticking out yeah yeah so okay well that's that's good that's that that's quality so he's just freezing gotham what what happens with the satellites uh he the satellites beam around oh my god oh wait yeah here they okay we're in a hurry we have to stop mr freeze but apparently they i'm guessing went back to the batcave to get all these new toys i mean vehicles right uh alfred brought them oh wait no alfred's honest albert's on his deathbed he actually they changed costumes too like it seems like if things are oh my god that's terrible it's like they built that to go over her little cowl because she peels it off in a minute and her thing things underneath it they could have had time to go back to the bat cave to get more vehicles they did go that's probably what they did but it seems like they should be in more of a hurry he took the time to invent a bat ice car yeah these things are specifically designed to go on ice uh what and these things are used for this one sequence and then they're just gone forever just long enough for him to to make toys of what oh the ice doesn't work on his shield why why doesn't the shield freeze that doesn't make any sense it's specifically designed to deflect a nice beam rich duh all these machines all these vehicles were built just in case they encounter a super villain uh whose power is that he freezes stuff he built this all in the last like 10 minutes oh man yeah that's gonna be three days later they finally finished building it mister just hasn't gotten to his plan yet that's why alfred's [ __ ] dying because he's overworked alfred i need three vehicles right away but i'm dying sir eight minutes in their ice cubes forever somebody wrote that [Laughter] eight more minutes in a city full of gothamites or ice cubes forever sunlight could reverse a freezing process we'll summarize them for five hours here but it's morning in the congo now this is the power of math or did they is that just like i always wonder like when all this shit's happening and none of it makes any sense if there's lines when you don't see the actors actually talking but it's like close-ups of monitors if it's just adr they made up to try and make things make sense even in adr somebody wrote that line eight minutes eight minutes and they'll be ice cubes forever [Music] that's a long [ __ ] drop well this is this is completely realistic compared to the end of batman forever what happens there uh dr chase meridian and batman or what's his name robin they're both in tubes and oh that's right it's like you have to you can only save one of them and it shows it shows like the pits beneath them and i always thought they were separate pits oh and then they converge into one and then they're they're in one but they're falling and it's like a hundred feet but they're falling for like 20 minutes and he cooks her and then he goes after rob and next and it's just any kind of realistic threat has been completely deflated yeah yeah joel schumacher in these movies has a thing for like wire work and falling like everyone's just constantly falling down because it's a comic book jay oh yeah and in comic books people jump around and fly around i've heard of comic books i'm an orphan okay you know what i'm an orphan yeah an orphan a little too old to be an orphan the batman master not be shot from that angle where you see those little nostril holes no it looks bad they don't care what angle they shoot the batman costume and or how they light it they just do whatever batman you're doing it you've lost freeze till next time you've unthawed some of the people and you've burned others yeah i guess if it's hot enough to melt ice within a minute a second yeah it probably would be pretty dangerous everyone has skin cancer now batman gets sued yeah [Applause] [Music] they just leave that scrawny man there it's not his fault he's bane breeze in hell makes sense why don't you make sense movie why don't you make suds why are those two lab technicians so important why is everything exploding because the sun melted everything and it messed the structural integrity of it [Music] [Music] grab onto my belt isn't that alfred's line [Laughter] oh no that was a very very unexciting explosion and then they were killed by the shrapnel no he just leaves him how are we supposed to get off of here he forgets about him he just goes home oh god and he wakes up in the middle of the night oh [ __ ] and he comes back and they're dead and he just doesn't tell anyone he turns on the news in the morning there's a story about these two lab technicians who died yeah because oh [ __ ] that's how the movie ends show me how to cure mcgregor syndrome stage one and maybe you can also save the life of the man your wife once loved he's still inside you victor buried deep beneath the snow [Music] will you help me doctor but you know i thought at the time this was going to be a very good career move um it wasn't oh rich there's the cure to just got it in mcgregor's gauntlet he keeps he keeps it in his arm panel where it's not safe at all we could easily get some astra broken yes take two and call me in the morning what because he's a doctor wait wait is that the only sample what about everybody else the mcgregor's disease all that matters is alfred maybe this just maybe they should like analyze this cure and reproduce it instead of giving both vials to like 90 year olds look at this butler yeah [Laughter] so we could die of something else next week oh i wouldn't want some sort of neon goo going into my body here alfred i got these from a [ __ ] super villain i'm pretty sure they'll work now why do they all look like they've been living on the streets they're like covered in soot because they went through a tough fight jay they went through a tough fight and he still has his robots they they gave him back his robot suit for some reason well batman said he can continue his research and they're going to move the dead wife in the tube into arkham asylum's quote-unquote laboratory oh jesus i guess arkham asylum has a science lab i'm sure none of the crazy inmates will try and rape her she's in a tank of wait look there's pizza oh no alfred's back to the pizza got back into the pizza he's gonna get mcgregor's disease again that old pool never learns oh no we use the last two miles we can't cure him again master wayne can you get me some more of that blue [ __ ] i hate pizza this is weird like alfred was on his deathbed they gave him the the another one and now he's here after no but like they're all waiting in another room like you would wait like in a hospital waiting room but it's just watching this that let's say loved batman forever and went into batman and robin with great anticipation if i if i disappointed them in any way then i really want to apologize because it wasn't my intention my intention was just to entertain them but i did get a nice ass yeah it's very colorful very uh lots of costumes and big sets and action but at the same time it's boring as [ __ ] yeah yeah
