Rebuilding A Wrecked 2017 Dodge Hellcat Part 14

gotcha what is up goon-squad welcome to the channel as you know this is a fresh paint job here it is not a hundred percent perfect but that's exactly what we're gonna do today there's gonna be a lot of color sanding buffing and polishing so we're gonna jump right in start on the driver's side and work our way around before you want to start color sanding on any panel you want to go ahead and rinse it down with water or soap and water it doesn't matter just make sure your surface is clean before actually applying the sandpaper and start sanding so I'm gonna go ahead and start with the 2,000 grit on a hard surface pad because this is fresh paint job and I want to use a hard side and I might jump around from a 1,500 to 2,500 just depends how fast this sands I'm gonna go ahead and test it out and if a 2,000 works I'm gonna finish off the whole entire car with the 2,000 and we're not gonna fully sand down to make it perfectly smooth because we're trying to match the OEM paint om paint has a little bit of orange peel in it we're using a normal-sized buffer so we want to stick to only flat panels here and this whole car is basically exactly this please the boat right here big boat this sucker is a boat and with ass boat so the 2000 is working great it's saying it really good right here so I'm gonna go ahead and work my way around this whole entire car with the 2,000 grit and then after I may use a 2500 and I think we'll be ready to buff after that [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] alright guys so we just finished this whole entire side with the two thousand grit is sanded pretty smooth so we're gonna move on to 2,500 and finish this side off and we should be ready to buff this side [Music] all right so it took a good bit of time but we finally got this whole entire side send it was a two-thousand and a 2500 that's gonna give us a nice surface to buff and give us a smooth finish so it's about that time to start working on the shop finish up them walls so we're gonna stop this for a second and hop on to the goon squad garage build [Music] [Music] all righty guys so this is the next day here check it out we got all the walls up everything is up other than the trim and then the garage doors then the lighting so this thing is coming right along let's take you guys inside so officially we are done working outside the weather in the rain we were going to be covered up from here on out it is looking good you can hear that echo yeah we're gonna probably fix it if it sounds bad on camera we'll fix it we'll put you know [Music] yep we got exhaust fan you know so we can do revs in the garage leave a car running inside the garage I'm gonna sleep thinking about burning the tires in here and doing I guess we can do a big old bark nacho bar now and then that fenders gonna be shooting out of exhaust up y'all so I'm thinking first bar now is gonna be the Hellcat of course yeah of course we've got to break it out and then eventually if we do decide to do something with the floors maybe do like a nice metallic or a nicer paint no still not just paint the floor you know we'll see you know we might just use that as a rope section but it's coming right along here soon we're gonna start building that loft area now we are going to still continue buffing that Hellcat which we are gonna go pick up a new buffer pad or a new iPad wool pad because we're trying to perfect that paint job so let's go to the store and pick up that pan I'm just chicken butch ones and we may need some new compound you can see here we got all these other master pros I have to ask Brian which one's the best 3m is so much better than this yeah I can just build by the nets on the lookers by the look of it yeah some machine polish they've got some nice stuff like back from the store we went ahead and picked up some nice 3m rubbing compound this is some very nice stuff very high quality extreme cutting power and also a wool pad this thing also is extreme cutting power so both of these put together is gonna make this job a lot faster and hopefully get a lot better results out of this paint job all right I got everything I need to buff this car so I'm gonna go ahead grab my wool pad put it on the buffer and make this thing shine let's get it so it looks like the Sun is starting to come out and that is not a good idea to buff while there's sun shining so we're gonna go ahead and move into the goon squad garage over there pulled a Vette out and start buffing in there [Music] yeah and now we could actually lift the car up do what we got to do add a little bit of transmission fluid because a little bit did come out from the collision yeah oh yeah that's a good idea while we're buffing dude great idea that's awesome dude I love that lift dude it's gonna be perfect so even if we need a little bit of lighting we're gonna use LEDs for now it's a big mess in here as you can see but it's gonna come together before you know it it's gonna be nice and tidy delivery let's get it nice a lot easier to do it that way I think I don't wanna give em up you just lazy it is pretty fun driving that thing alright let's get it off [Music] all right so we've now got the perfect setup now it's gonna be a lot easier to work on the lower areas of the car a lot easier to both so now I'm gonna grab the buffer and try to make this thing look like a mirror let's get it [Music] [Music] so this front fender turned out great so I'm gonna get the whole rest of the car to look exactly like this me right here [Music] [Applause] [Music] hey they're mine this door is absolutely great that wool pads doing its job the extra where does it call perfect it extra rubbing compound it's doing a great job also man it is just moving right along looking smooth after we buffed the entire vehicle we're still gonna polish it which is gonna make it pop even more so man it's gonna be great that's a cutting compound basically so it cuts the clear coat so after this you're gonna have to cut it down even more with the finer of polish and get all the swirls off of it and get this thing looking perfect because it it looks perfect right now like you can leave it look good but like in person when you actually look at it with your eyes there's most tiny little scratches swirls everywhere so that's gonna require a finer grit pad whatever you want to call it finer pad foam pad very soft pad get all them squirrels off of there this paint jobs would be perfect better than OEM oh yeah it already looks better than the OEM paint and it's like a mirror yep looks really very close I mean you see that you see them deuces right there [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] all right so we're here at the metal yard got a bunch of metal stuff we got our correct trim here we exchanged our old trim that's too thin or not wide enough so we got that and we're actually trying to buy some more beans or trade the door we're actually trying to trade our door that we got for some other beans that way we can build our little loft area so that's what we're doing here hopefully we can get what we need all right so we just picked up our trim here we are back at the house we're probably gonna go ahead and install it we got a little bit wider one by one that we got earlier it's called Jay trim it was just like it was like that why wasn't it happen half an inch here and then like an inch here yeah we got the longer one it looks a lot better yeah it's gonna look a lot cleaner this parts look at that 10 foot tall all of them and this is the garage doors all 10 foot yes so this is gonna be there's not gonna be any cutting required just screw it in we're ready to finish this sucker up so every chance we get to work on this we do it because we want it finished just as soon as you guys want to finish so we're gonna hop on that trim and get it up [Music] [Music] alright so we just got all the trim in now we're actually to go ahead and grab this door over here and install it install it pretty much you got some longer metal screws so let's go ahead and put it up to it and hopefully screw it in and it'll be in there for good [Music] all right so we finally got that door in now it's time to get back on this over here we're gonna actually polish this whole entire side this whole side is completely buffed it is looking great but there's a couple swirls in it so that's what we're going to do now we've got a dual action [Music] it is dark guys we've got a lot of it done there's a lot of buffs and a lot of polishing but we'll finish up probably tomorrow or just depends on how much work we do on the shop we might even finish it tomorrow to shop and we might diminish that yeah just depends on how much time we got because we really want to get this shop going we need to get them our lights as you can see we want to go ahead and start lying to you lights bro yeah but we're getting there done like you know like takes time black black attack good yes sir as you can see there [Music] is freaking another day here we are gonna start by working on the shop Rex gonna try to knock out the rest of the trim corner trim roof trim so let's go up I'm gonna mark it and we should be able to knock this out pretty quick [Music] [Applause] [Music] guys check this out how I'm dropping this sucker right here it's all taken apart but I'm gonna go out there wash it right quick and then I'll show you guys how well of a job we did which is pretty dang impressive so let's wash it right quick and then we'll wrap this video up take that out man No - nothing just cruising got my custom-made gear shifter there it's pretty neat in here but if it's taken care of I'm saying good now let's walk over to this other side as you can see the water still sticks to it here so it definitely needs to be buff and polish alrighty guys take a good look at this paint job after I was buffed and polished of course we made it look a hundred times better I'd say because look at that reflection if you get really close man there is an absolute amazing mirror finish honestly we just went above and beyond and made this paint job way better than OEM OAM paint job if you look at our old videos you can kind of see orange peel in it so we made this definitely look a lot better it's smooth and we just gave you that goon-squad touch to it alright guys so this side is completely finished but we just didn't have enough time to get to the other side clearly as you can see with the video it took many hours and hours to do we still got the trunk lid the rear bumper and also this complete other side but you could see a huge difference if you look at this quarter panel this is what that side started off as yeah you can see like orange peel in there orange peel but we're gonna take care of that I don't know if we will record all of it but we will keep you guys updated and informed for sure also as you can see we got the whole entire structure of the shop complete the only thing that's left is the garage doors and then outfitting it with lights and electrical and all that other good stuff we also even went as far as adding a fan if you guys didn't see that it's a nice exhaust fan that's gonna give us plenty of airflow this shop is really filthy we need to clean the walls clean the floors and then we're gonna start working on the electrical the loft the lighting just a bunch of other little next that we got to take care of to make this thing a legit goon
