Rebuilding A Wrecked 2017 Corvette Z06

I so we're better go on a two and a half hour drive as you can see that's our old f250 that we sold so a good buddy of ours bought it so he was kind enough to let us borrow it and go haul the new build let's see what it is [Music] we've been here before I think we picked up a WRX here yeah definitely let's try to find some room to park and a lot of people here turn after me and I ran you over [Music] all right so we're going to go inside the office and get all the paperwork and try to get loaded up it may take a while because there is a ton of people here but we've got to do what you got to do [Applause] wait there's a five-oh back here that I was on the look at you know since we got a 503 nice little truck it's the older body style though I like that got some nice wheels on it regular breaks lock Brembos got a 500 under that bad boy though so we got the paperwork now we're gonna go hand it over to the loader get it pulled out we're gonna go ahead drop the ramps I'm gonna check out these Dahlia man pretty sweet yeah why all this DIY as long as they work me back over here on this motorcycle I guess somebody already bought it but see good parts here you got some headers you got top in here you got a chain and a sprocket Annecy that's about it [Music] life is just always mysterious and surprising around the next corner around [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] that is get broke oh boy hooked it up what is this though look at this canister that's some crazy stuff look at him Brando dude look at them suckers oh my goodness dead that's what we seen at the dealership that one time remember the carbon ceramic lard-ass Rambo's hey at least it's got Brembos this time dude this thing is brand-new man [Music] the frame rails are in great condition dude no damage at all the fenders is how the fenders come off right here they're pretty much futon I guess that's like the only damage right there [Music] we're going on you got beat the keys lock the keys locking up on this thing ah we need to make sure we need to talk to him he's gotta make sure there's a key because they did say that it starts so yeah let me go laying the don't think they're zero six wheels dude as soon as we get home we'll talk a little bit more guys [Music] so it did say that there was a key present you know we're looking in here and there's no key so he went on the inside into the office to see if we could retrieve that key possibly find it cause we already checked everything and we need a key man definitely need a key it is a 7-speed oh my god she's a manual that is freaking crazy you get the key you got the key hoods clothes no this is a 7-speed manual is the 7-speed manual dude's got zo6 stitched in dude I can't wait to get this bad boy at home dude just one headlight watch out hey at least there's one of these like that's tight you a grin right there and batteries over here yeah batters in the bag what if there's something hidden down there you know what I mean but look at them seats do they like racing seats little label 650 horsepower zo6 on the steering wheel dude this is sick dude let's strap her up take her back home and talk about her there this is a she right [Music] yeah so we're gonna go ahead and strap her up examine all the damages strapped up to points and we're ready to go [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] this stop by the gas station got some snacks got a hot dog got a pizza you know how it is an event is just a neckbreaker everybody's asking about it but we better be home in about an hour so we'll see you guys there finally just made it back I better have to drop it off the trailer it's gonna be a little bit tough hi guys so same concept here we've got to lift the trailer up because this is a low car and we got the aluminum ramps here we've got some blocks set up under here and he's gonna start coming down furthermore that way I'm straighten up bring it up bring it up go slow slow down all right come straight back really slow turn to the left a slight bit give them a push this is a slight bit that's too much all right now straighten it back up yep just like that a little bit more to the left there you go now come all the slowly slowly slowly that's what I'm saying go really slow just ease on back as slow as you possibly can slower very slow stop right there this tire went flat for some reason all right you're good yeah come all the way back that lowlife man first test drive yeah I wonder why these tires flat here though maybe a nail in it well maybe just saw it flat over time you can't even get out of these doors if they don't have I think it sound like a safety latch right well it has these there's no door latches on these new Corvettes there's just a button yeah I think there's a can't even how do we open it how did you get in here oh right here some kind of yeah there's a safety latch for sure there yeah yeah cuz there was like a story where somebody like died in one cuz they couldn't get out that's great that's crazy alright let's clean all this stuff up and then we'll pull this up to the garage or something yep sure go ahead and push it up to the garage just sayin Oh Danny knew that - digital - dude that is sick it's green on it one secret compartment we try to open another door over there yup in here they got a/c for their own side that is legit 0 6 650 camera it's got a front entry okay so we're gonna pop this hood for the first time dang look at that Corvette LT 4 got that supercharger on it man that's gonna that's gonna whine I wonder if it's gonna be like we you know alright guys so we further inspected the Corvette before I get started on mentioning any of the repairs that were in need I'm gonna go ahead and tell you guys that this Corvette only does have 518 miles so it just got broken in so man this thing is pretty much immaculately on the interior so we thought there was no frame damage but looking closer upon inspection we did find that the frame rails do in fact have a crack in them right here which they're not completely over but they do have a hairline crack which is gonna have to be fixed we may have to put it up on a frame machine yet and pulled over a little bit regrind and this is a completely aluminum frame so we're gonna have to find somebody with the aluminum welder which shouldn't be a problem yes and the insurance company that did take this to the shop to get took it apart what they had to cut the wheelhouse panel yeah they had to cut the wheelhouse panel for some strange reason I guess it's just an insurance thing but we went ahead and ordered B so that's gonna be the first major thing that we repair is gonna be that and then probably the next thing is gonna be getting that frame fixed getting it pulled over a little bit getting it welded in on both sides let's go ahead and pop these hood form yeah I think it should be already pop just pick it up yeah check that sucker out zo6 alright so getting any more into depth with the engine this is a supercharged LT for Corvette engine this is 6.2 so this thing is pretty hefty it's got 650 pounds of torque 650 horsepower man this thing is just gonna be crazy first time ever owning something with a supercharger the week so we are really excited about that we are super excited you guys been asking for it so this is what we got for you guys man 2017 Corvette zo6 so under the hood what we're gonna need is a cooling system we're gonna need a radiator the condenser and also the heat exchanger which I think connects there so we're looking for parts so if anybody out there has a connection to some 0/6 parts I will leave my email down below and you can contact me there yeah we're gonna need basically the whole front end assembly all the cooling systems a/c systems you know they took everything apart sadly they did not leave anything inside except for a heavy yes they did they like one headlight a good headlight for the passenger side which is like a $1,200 headlight yeah so we need the left side driver yeah we need the driver side headlight so let's go ahead and close this carbon-fiber hood I believe is carbon fiber yeah carbon fiber because that is really light weight light weight and so we did order at the wheel house panel and as I mentioned before we're also gonna have to order both fenders left and right which should be carbon fiber also which is pretty pricey but that's part of the rebuilding process when you're gonna be a rebuilding a supercar you got to pay to play yeah the parts are very expensive yeah that little this little piece this little piece right here was like $115 we need one for this side which luckily the local junkyard does have a stock c7 for parts and that's another thing that we were wondering if the cooling system is the same as the zo6 that I mean it's very unpredictable but we'll have to just check and do some research on that yes that's about it up front we need a front bumper here some sensors some cameras I believe there's two cameras up here because we went to the dealership and that's what we seen there's two cameras there yeah we will look at a few zo sixes just to get a reference on what we will need in parts and this zo six I believe has the bigger Brite package because like we've seen on the zo six at the dealership the brakes were a little bit smaller and they weren't carbon ceramic these are carbon ceramic brakes I heard this package is a hefty amount of money if you're ordering one of these from the dealership so that's a plus for us because these are massive I believe front and rear yeah front and rear dude dude they're huge look how huge a carbon ceramic that is nice like that like this guy whoever owned this maybe took it to a track cuz you know it's a big expensive package if you get that you're gonna go to the track on it and most of the time if you get a manual that mean you're pretty sporty guys it is manual and the driver airbag is busted I think the battery's dead so let me go ahead use the manual aux photo let me see what Thomas is up to man I know y'all miss Thomas Thomas just chillin what do you think of the Vette Thomas I know you love it who loves it so look at this aggressive look I love the vents and stuff that this car has I don't know if they don't open oh there goes well yeah man practically brand-new on the inside here oh yeah really clean I like I wasn't a big fan of the interior but looking at it personally it is very nice like I love it it's a super nice like this color really nice oh yeah and as you can tell the driver airbag is busted we're gonna need one of them for sure whenever we find a good deal on one we will buy one that's not very important right now we're gonna work on the front end of the car but other than that this thing is a beast man be straight up be seven-speed I never owned a seventh my dad is insane and look at that badge that is legit zo6 supercharged 650 horsepower 650 pounds of or that is insane guys oh I hear that this is faster than the 458 yeah I got some more horsepower Arie 458 what else is it faster maybe faster than GTR so this is one of the fastest cars we've ever owned and super high performance ton of Technology we found out so much about this car while we were waiting yeah it's it's really nice if we can't wait we just cannot wait to get this thing ready to go on the road this is gonna be one of our funnest builds yeah I mean the GT was probably one of our funnest mules so far yeah this is gonna be just the next level I love learning about new cars that I never owned before we love experimenting with something that we never put our hands on like the GT was one really fun car to work with we learned a lot about it now we're gonna learn a lot about this Corvette and it happened to be a zo6 which we got a really good deal on I think and we're just really excited to get this thing on the road and get it going for you guys we're gonna share some tips with you guys and you guys are gonna help us out it's gonna be a lot of fun so stay tuned for this alright so right quick on the interior I like this little bit of carbon fiber right here so I wish I had more but you know it's alright it's got more leather I like the leather wrap this is a whole leather - can you hit that cluster there the battery super deafy we haven't started this car yet because the battery has been completely dead I'll be next video yeah we're probably gonna throw it on charge let trickle charge for like two days or something and then we'll give you our first star it said it it starts in the listing yeah and the listing is said it started but we never started because the battery's super dead it's pretty crazy look at that it has like dual climate control and this electronic right here I already talked about that yeah probably crazy the battery's dead battery so dead that I wanted to let us see that electronic parking there but it's got a mode selection so that's supposed to open up the throttle I mean or open up the exhaust exhaust and the throttle it's like a performance thing that's awesome everything is electronic it's like it's crazy oh look at the passenger climate control yeah it's so sick there's so much tacking this thing's got the Bose speaker systems button to open the door I love it dude it it's awesome it's clean only 500 miles on it and that is really low I haven't even owned a car with less than 10,000 15,000 hundred miles the roof does come off also yeah it does I've heard that these cars break in at the 500 mile mark period but somebody gets broken just broke it in cuz I was like 518 or something like that so it just got broken in and that that's an maybe he broke it in and wrecked it because he was trying to unleash the 600 feet unleash the beat you shine unleash unleash the 650 horsepower and 650 pounds of torque so as we said it did come with one headlight thank God they put one headlight in here cuz these are really expensive and it looks really good shape everything on there and I think this is a looks like an antenna probably goes on the inside of the fender they took it out that looks like an antenna right there are a few plastic pieces I don't know where they go maybe somewhere up front and you got you know just your little miscellaneous hoses probably water lines for something some rubbers and plastics and they did leave a tub of bolts which is awesome like this is like gold for somebody that's repairing cars I was honestly hoping that it was just coffee man we've got some free coffee big old classic roast bro that's a good stuff right there classic roast and it does have the accident report which is crazy the vehicles that we find come with accidents report and I can't really show you guys this because it does have a lot of information information on there does stay and show exactly where is wrecked like I can't let me fold this for you guys show you guys right there let's see it was break up there in the driver front and then it put an X right here where the airbag airbag was blown in the frame they put a X right here with the frame was cracked so it wasn't wrecked too hard but it just sucks they took it all apart to do an estimate I think and then they ended up totaling the car because it came out to be more damaged and expected what did they put on the repair cost so progressive did gave them a repair cost and in the total to repair this whole entire car can I show this no no you can't show this it does have names the total to repair this whole entire car ended up being five thousand two hundred ninety one dollars that's their price but they took apart everything and they didn't leave us nothing so that price just went up you know so that's the reason why we got a really good deal on this car so we're happy with it we're excited to work on this car we're excited to learn everything about it we're excited to put it together as you got into this is a new challenge man this is and we love a challenge but you can't yes we love challenges it can't be too easy and straightforward yeah and it's awesome because this is the first call and we're gonna work on that's actually all aluminum fiberglass carbon fiber so there's no really no sheetmetal to work on you know it's all new stuff it's gonna be fun I'm ready to learn although the Mustang will still be getting worked on the Mustangs still will be getting upgraded we're excited for both of these cars so like he mentioned just now we are gonna work on the Mustang you can see it there brother's doing lifts kid on his Jeep so I'll show you guys maybe a little sneak peek at that well yeah look at this rear end guys in its completely aggressive look at all these vents man I love it this is not just like your regular c7 it does look a lot more aggressive it's wider back here this this comes out about maybe two three inches more than the regular c7 so and it also does have this aggressive here spoiler I love the exhaust man you got it you gotta admit that's that rear end of the car is just let me get so oh man that rear end is so sexy and a little tip or a shrink if you want to identify zo6 they do have the clear lights you know the clear taillights that just I don't know that just makes the car look way better with the clear tail lights everything LED in there and look at that Jim Ellis yeah somebody just bought it and doesn't have nothing on there so you know hey hey man it's ours now yeah pretty basically bought it from the dealer just got it put our own little goon squad touches on it make it old almost OEM that's for sure we're ready to make this thing almost OEM the paint compared to a board dude the paint is smooth really nice I mean it's dirty right now we haven't washed it but the paint looks really really good like I like how they did like the metallic on the spoiler metallic on the little vents zoom in for them right there it's a totally different color it's like a darkish blackish with grey flakes in it and I absolutely love the design of these zo6 wheels like there is the zr1 I've seen those wheels at street speed hats and I do not like them yeah these wheels look that same or better yeah if you guys watch street speed or something yeah you see the zr1 wheels they're not that good looking this way better looking we'll go the front end of that zr1 is aggressive and we would like to do that on here but I know it won't work so we're is gonna go ahead with a stock zo6 front end and probably do like an aero package on it possibly if we can find a good deal on that it's like got the lip we may do some performance mods to it it just really depends on what happens from here after we get it fixed but there's still a long process here it's gonna be an awesome journey and I'm glad to take you guys right along with us we have ordered the wheelhouse panels and if you're wondering what that is it's basically this whole entire fiberglass piece right here it goes all the way around right here it holds all these computers holds the fender liner and this is where the fender screws on to and this part is glued on to the car we will have to somehow pull it off paint find some glue I wonder what kind of glue this yeah I've talked to a few of repair shops and he did say this is there's a special glue that you buy a just auto parts store it like sub double mixing tube probably like some epoxy yes some strong epoxy it's made for this kind of stuff so that ain't a big deal to start pulling things apart start taking this car part learning how it's made and building it and putting our own touches on it all right yeah so it is the weekend there's people mowing in the background my brother is installing this lift kit he's using When I first found them I (wrongly) automatically hated them, I just felt like they were not the same demographic as me, very "youth" oriented in their mannerisms, commentary, and music choice.

However, they have consistently proven how thorough/methodical they are in their repair build process. Their ability to learn new skills (and get very good at them) is also very interesting to watch unfold.

They deserve every view they get, they're very hardworking and always willing to learn a new skill. They'll do well with that attitude.
