[Music] chickens all over the road up here get out of the way chickens move well howdy guys welcome back to the diesel creek this is your first time joining us my name's matt currently loaded up in my pickup truck here and we are burning down the dirt road on the way out to the farm on the back of the truck here i've got some cool cool stuff to go on one of our major projects that doesn't get a whole lot of traction on here and it's not any giant leaps forward with that project but it's definitely a sign of things to come things that i know you guys will really appreciate so as soon as i get out to the farm go ahead and show you what i picked up [Music] all right so here we are at the end of my driveway i've just dropped her down into four by four because the last time i tried to drive out to the building in wet conditions it turned into quite the mud bog so hopefully we can make it today without tearing up too too much but it is pretty darn wet out here it's been raining for days and when it doesn't rain it snows and melts pretty wet and the old power stroke here is kind of a lead sled these diesels are awful heavy i love when people lift up diesels and put mud tires and stuff on them and act like that's a good mud bog and rig i mean i like a diesel as much as the next guy but uh they're not exactly ideal for mud bog they're just too darn heavy but look at that looks like i made it over here without too too much trouble let's see what we got in the bed here's what we got we got a load of parts got a load of spare parts rusty old spare parts some of you guys are going to immediately recognize what that stuff goes to but for those of you who don't they belong to this big beautiful rusty behemoth it has been quite a while since we've had a video on this truck on the channel but this is my 1957 auto car i bought this truck to restore it maybe not to a showroom or a museum quality finish but get it back into working running driving usable order so i can pull around things like my bulldozer my excavator uh just kind of have it as a neat just because i basically just because i want to kind of truck but right now i don't have a way to move my bulldozer i have this truck and a big trailer that goes behind it that uh there's plenty of other videos i'll link to in the description but uh yeah so i think it'd just be really cool to have a sweet old truck like this going down the road to haul your equipment around if you're going to do it you might as well do it in style right i'm not trying to go far very long distance or anything like that so something old like this will get the job done for me and look cool doing it also i've mentioned in previous videos about this truck one of the main reasons i bought it was because my grandfather actually drove the exact same truck i don't know i mean it's not this particular truck but same model and uh it looked identical so i always thought it was cool seeing old pictures i never met my grandfather but i just thought it was a really cool looking truck and all the old family photo albums and stuff and so when i found one i bought one so i'm not sure if i can pass off picking up some parts as progress on a project or not but i'm gonna try for right now because i've just been so busy with other things that take precedent over the auto car uh that i have not had the time to do much with it but it's still on my radar i still really want to work on it but a man's just going to have priorities anyway i found these parts thanks to uh one of you guys one of my subscribers reached out to me and said he uh had a friend that had one of these trucks that was uh you know he he bought it with the same intentions as me but once he got it home i guess he realized it was a little more than he could chew so uh i went up and looked at it and considered buying the whole truck but unfortunately it was just a little too far gone to be a good candidate for a cab replacement for mine so uh i bought the hood and the fuel tank and a couple doors that are underneath here and uh the doors on my truck are real bad so these doors are near near perfect so i'm pretty excited about that let's get this stuff off of here oh yeah i had three guys helping me load this stuff it's just me to take it off they did not build lightweight trucks back then so oh god [Music] [Applause] looks like they survived the ride unscathed that's good unfortunately the window the small vent window was busted on this one when i got it so [Applause] a bit of putty in this one right here but we're gonna do these things are from the 50s and 60s the insides of these ones are even nice still mine are all rusted over and look like crap [Music] oh i'm gonna get a hernia that thing is heavy okay well there's the complete haul i got a fuel tank two doors and the hood and the guy also threw in these uh chrome things for the grill those just kind of clip on there these things these ones are painted unfortunately but that's why it's nice i got a nice chrome set now so like i said guys i'm not sure i can pass off just picking up some parts as progress on a project but uh well i'm gonna try because it's a step in the right direction if nothing else i do want to get work on this as i said i want to get a back wall on this building first that way i can get a torpedo heater in here when it's a little chilly and be able to work in here a little bit more comfortably then you know it's not insulated but at least kind of keep the breeze out help keep the breeze out well this next bit i've been wrestling with uh for quite a while now there's a lot of channels that are driven by you know viewer support through patreon or paypal donations stuff like that and i've never never really been keen to the idea myself i don't judge any of those guys that do it because part of me says well if there's people out there that are willing to give me money then pay so much the better but i'm not a handout kind of person i i don't like that idea uh especially because most i'm not in any desperate financial way this is not a make or break thing for me i i can put food on the table just fine but that also means that i'm smart enough with my money to not go dumping it into a project like this as much as i want to i know that my money is better spent improving my roadway out here building a house in the future building a better adjacent shop to this one because this building was never intended to be a full-on enclosed heated shop or anything where i would like to work on something like this but so instead of dumping my money into this thing now i want to save it build a better facility and then dump money into something like this as a motor and have the available resources but youtube kind of pushes all the time because this truck is what a lot of you are here for and a lot of you guys ask me all the time when are you going to work on the auto car you know when are we going to see more on that thing and the answer is i i don't know because i i can't in good conscience go working on this thing all the time when there's a lot more important things that need my attention and my my finances so getting back to the patreon thing i'm still wrestling with it as i'm recording this i'm not sure that you're ever going to see this clip but if you are watching this i've set up a patreon page to fund this project nothing else you're not contributing to my my going out to eat budget or my new project budget or anything like that if you make a donation i don't i don't have words for the gratefulness to make this dream a reality but i know there's a lot of you that really want to do that and want to want to help because you don't know how to do it yourself or you don't have the time or the resources or whatever but there's a lot of you that really want to see this project completed and you know not 25 years from now so uh i am going to go ahead and set up a patreon page and if i get some money from that it'll all go to this project or you know directly benefiting this project such as lighting in this building or you know maybe some tools or fancy or something or other i need to make this thing tick but i i don't expect a lot from this i've gotten a lot of people over the past year or two that you know asked to donate and i've just you know explained that i had never wanted to take people's money and i still as i said i'm wrestling with it so i know this is getting long-winded i'm not good with this kind of stuff but just know that i'm extremely grateful to anybody that does decide to donate in in no way am i trying to pressure you to donate you know if you like the content a thumbs up is good enough for me on the video you know uh that's really the most i will ask of anybody anything that you do beyond that is uh i i don't have words for that it's just you're a better person than i am so my ultimate goal with the auto car 2 is not only to use it for my side business as far as moving equipment around for that but i also there's several car shows and heavy equipment shows that i like to go to every year uh 2020 unfortunately canceled all of those but normal on a normal year there are several shows that i like to go to and i would love to roll up to those shows and this bad boy pulling a dozer or another piece of antique equipment that i pick up in the future and what i wanted to do is if you guys are patreon supporters of this project i'm going to make a plaque to hang on the front of the truck there and it'll have everybody's names who donated so if if you do make a donation of the project just know that uh there's gonna be somebody that sees that you helped with this build your name will not be forgotten because i can't express enough gratitude for somebody that's willing to fork out a few hard-earned dollars for this guy so that's all i got i hope that wasn't too long-winded i apologize if it was but uh i appreciate all you guys donations are not i'm not looking for that that's not why i do this so i just want to make that clear i can't say it enough can't overstate how much i appreciate everything you do for me uh between like and subscribe and it's just helping grow the channel it's been awesome to see this take off over the past year and uh i think i think our future's bright here on this channel i think uh we're gonna get into a lot cooler stuff as time goes on and uh this you know this past year's unfortunately made it really difficult to do a lot of stuff but there's definitely a lot of cool ideas i have for the future and uh hopefully you guys are there with me so until next time thanks for watching bonus feature during the winter months out here when stuff sits for a while i like to come out every once in a while and just fire things up let the let the fluids circulate and let the batteries charge up a bit so i haven't started this thing in probably a couple months now so hopefully it cranks up this thing uh doesn't really like to start on a good day [Music] go nope i think we're gonna take that battery home and charge it it was close it wanted to go the mice have been in here bastards look at the old toe behind roller a go it hasn't been touched since the last time i did a video on it a little bit of glow plugs come on come on close start you bastards nothing there we go we'll let that baby charge up for about 20 minutes or so finally we'll go ahead and fire up the old komatsu dozer here now this girl has a grid heater but i've never used it this thing always pops off extremely quick i have not started this thing in a couple months either ready every time baby every time go ahead and give the tractor one more go i let the battery sit for a second to try and recover and i'm going to shoot some starting fluid down her throat hole let this baby idle down for a second and we'll go ahead and kill her all right like i said i just like to do that keep the batteries topped off and everything lubricated and moving before anybody asks the reason we didn't start the excavator or the auto cars because they do not have uh well the excavator was just run last week and the auto car does not have batteries in it to worry about so yeah until next time thanks for watching i'll see you there [Music] do [Music] you
